Transcript
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: There it is! It's the opening crack.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: It's the sideshow to the DD show we normally do where we taste and rank rank some beer.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: We've got Ross, we've got Phil.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: How's it going, fellas?
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Doing well on yourself.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Hanging in there.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: And now entering the starting lineup.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Damon! I'm here! Back for another episode.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Welcome to you.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: We're still here.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: Put me in, coach.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: You're in the case.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Ready to play?
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Put me in, coach.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Clap, clap, clap.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: I'm ready to play.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: Gosh, clap today.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: Clap, clap, clap.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: Aging ourselves.
- 0:44SPEAKER_03: Of course we are.
- 0:45SPEAKER_03: We do that every episode.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, I feel as though the earth and the sun are doing most of the aging.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Fair.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: That's fair.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Fair.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Yes, Brett?
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: One deep on that one.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Ross, what are we drinking?
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: Tonight we have the lemon lime and cranberry pot cultured in the house tonight.
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: This is a different one, guys.
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: If you haven't taken a sip, hit it now and let's uh do some notes on this.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: I give it a C flat.
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: In terms of no- Oh, I see which a note.
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: It's a note.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Do they have notes?
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Do they have lined music in the world of Dungeons and Dragons?
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: I would think so.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Bards surely have lined music somewhere.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: They might just make it up, too.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, who knows?
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: I think the jury's out on that one.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like do like does a bard, does they do are most have most bards gone to music school?
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: There's a bard at college.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: They go to college.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Some of them go to Strixhaven.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: There's a real school.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:47SPEAKER_03: I thought they like they became a bard because of the magic they found in the music.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:52SPEAKER_03: So they go to like music school and then become a bard.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: It's fine.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: Let me dig out the book.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, uh, wizards, you know, they s they study spells and stuff, I imagine.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: So I would think that a bard would know how to read tabs.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: I think that's fair.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: I've distracted us.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: Sounds like a mailbag question.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And back to the beer.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: So, yes, pop culture.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Uh, tell us a little bit more about the beer, Ross.
- 2:19SPEAKER_03: Uh, well, this one comes in at a uh flat 4.0 on the ABV sc ABV scale.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: Uh, I'm not tasting any alcohol on this.
- 2:28SPEAKER_03: It's uh a second, the second beer in a row that we've had that has zero IBUs, or at least the not available in it.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: But I I I don't know, guys.
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: This one comes across as more like soda-y to me than beer.
- 2:41SPEAKER_03: What do you think?
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: It's funny that you say that because I definitely, as I was drinking this, thought, probably for the first time ever in my life, when drinking a beer, like, hey, I'd love to throw some ice cubes in this.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: But it has that kind of a feel of like I could kick it back just like a soda, like sip on it, drink it.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: It's really sweet, so it's not something that you could just kill.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: At least I couldn't.
- 3:03SPEAKER_03: I think you maybe put it best when you were like, it's like that holiday punch where they take cranberry juice and add like a squirt or seven up to it.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: It tastes just like that.
- 3:11SPEAKER_03: It's kind of uncanny.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: It's not quite as bubbly as that, but yeah, it has it has that kind of taste to it.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: It's it's very strange.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: It should be rattling around in your can with some ice.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Like you expect it to have like a you shake it and you got that little fizz.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: It's funny too, because you don't really you like you can't really tell it's a beer.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: So my first thought was like, I'd add like a little um carbonation to it and a little more vodka, and I'd be good to go.
- 3:36SPEAKER_03: New cocktail for you, yes.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's very I get a lot of syrup like sort of feel or flavor to it.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Like it, yeah.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: I mean, technically they're describing this as a golden ale.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: I don't find that anywhere in terms of taste to me, but I I could be wrong.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think I think it like a golden ale is generally like a a pretty neutral ale or beer that would be easy to add a lot of almost any flavor that you wanted to, and really have that flavor come through because there's there's not really gonna be a whole lot of really roasted malt or anything like that in it, and they probably used pretty neutral hops in it as well, and probably not a not a whole lot.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, because I'd the lemon lime cranberry, they wanted to come through in it and it comes through for sure.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: It's definitely very forward on that flavor.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: One of the things I'm I'm interested about, and I'm I don't know if I saw it anywhere, is you know, I think back to one of the beers that we did recently as well, it had some kind of fruit notes to it, but they seemed a little bit less syrupy.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: So I'm wondering if, you know, instead of maybe some fresh fruit or that type of thing, like pureees mixed in this time, if it was more of a syrupy type of a mix in or something like that.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: It also occurred to me like it almost it kind of fits the syrup profile, but it's like snow cone flavors, which one is it?
- 5:03SPEAKER_03: Doesn't it taste kind of like that?
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: And I think they kind of leaned into that intentionally.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think I think you're right.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: It seems like that was a distinct decision.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: And I mean the can I think is very so.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: What's the little tagline?
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: Something about nostalgic a nostalgic lemon, lime, and cranberry golden ale.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: And the graphic design on the can, it's it's got the things that I remember from many of the things that I remember from my childhood.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: It's got a little ice this this is He-Man, uh, NES controller, this is a My Little Pony, so on and so forth.
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: And and just the big orange splotch on green is very Nickelodeon.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: Yep, yep.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah, I think I think it's very intentionally supposed to sort of bring across that flavored soda pop sort of experience.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think that's right.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: One of the the pops.
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: That's what you wanted.
- 6:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: I'll do it.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: I'll do it again.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: I think it's supposed to very intentionally bring across that sort of flavored soda pop there it is experience.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: So this one comes to us from obscurity brewing out of Elburn, Illinois.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: But we like to take things a little bit differently and think where in the lands of Dungeons and Dragons would you find this beer if you teleported it from our world into the lands of Dungeons and Dragons, where would you find it?
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: So let's go around the table.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Where where are you putting this one?
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Phil, we'll start start off with you.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Man, picked on two weeks in a row.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: What is this?
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you'll be okay.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Well, I I did the work myself this time because I get called out for occasionally uh making use of the tools available to me.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: And this was uh I decided that this beer is gonna be renamed as the Cran Fusion Paradox.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Is it a beer?
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Is it a soda?
- 7:03SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, uh, and it's going to be served at the Mystical Mead Mixology.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Because I just have to have the alliteration in there.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: I I couldn't steer away from that.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Um location-wise, though, I've decided that this is only sold, like that tavern only exists at Mahati's Wandering Emporium, wherever it is in Avernus.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Nice, nice.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: It would be a nice refreshing, uh nice refreshing beverage in Avernus.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: And it'll only cost you two soul coins.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: No, two souls.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: It's fine.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: Low price.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: You find those all the time.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Two souls.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Maybe some demon acre, it's fine.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: No, no big deal.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Damon.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: Am I next?
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'll go next.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: I um are there like amusement parks in in Dungeons and Dragons?
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, there can be.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: It's a homebrew, so now there are.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Their rides aren't what you think they are, but they're very rickety.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: Here's what I'm thinking.
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: You know how when somebody does um like an off-brand Disney thing, and like they take it and they kind of like it's supposed to be like light and cheery and fun and that sort of thing, but there's just something just slightly off about it.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: Dark, depressing, and sad.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: This is not this is not the joyous place that you would like for me to believe that it is.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Are these the late night Disney Channel movies?
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Disney after dark.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: They're like the they're like the Darzney.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: You can only get them on DVD.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: So this place has that sort of a vibe, right?
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Um, where they're trying to take versions of all the things that you loved as a child, um, but present them to you now as an adult.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: And the name of the establishment is Rose Colored Pint Glasses, is the name of them.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: Um, if this drink existed in this other world, it would be called Dreamland Syrup.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: I like that.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: Just makes me think when you said Darzney, it made me think of like McDowells from coming to America.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: Like McDonald's and McDowells.
- 9:26SPEAKER_03: You guys are looking at me like you don't know what that is.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: I haven't ever seen it.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Damon knows that movie, right?
- 9:29SPEAKER_03: Yes Eddie Murphy?
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: Okay, thank you.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: And Arsinio Hall.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: Arsenio Hall.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: And other people.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: No, that reminds me.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: James Earl was James Earl Jones in that?
- 9:38SPEAKER_03: He played the king.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: No, your your example made me think of in Percy Jackson, the the first book, where they go to the Lotus Casino.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: The Lotus Casino.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, you're right.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Probably be served there.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: But Ross, where is yours coming, I guess?
- 9:57SPEAKER_03: Uh you would find this at Carl Citrus Haven, uh, probably in Baldur's Gate, somewhere farther toward the south.
- 10:03SPEAKER_03: Uh, and this drink is called the Spunky Lemon Spritz.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: Uh, Carl spends a lot of time like doing some crossbreeding of different varieties of lemons.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: That's not where I thought you were going with that.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: He's just the Monsanto of Fey Rune.
- 10:18SPEAKER_03: Easy Phil.
- 10:18SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: Crossbreeding of lemons and cranberries to get the right amount of tartness and everything.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: And then he comes up with uh this spunky lemon spritz.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Did he make craisins for the first time?
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: Carl?
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: Just crossbreeding and some.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just kind of figured it out.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: He left some out on the table and boom, crazins.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, did you hear what I heard too, Brett?
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: We need to add another tick to the Baldur's Gate list.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: I'm pretty sure I only have like two, whereas y'all are farther ahead than me, but whatever.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: But alone, whatever.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: If you want to if you want to go on a deep dive, go back and look how many times Ross has be buying the URL to Ross's Baldurgate list.com.
- 10:55SPEAKER_03: Don't look that up, please.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: It's a dual list.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: You better buy it now before somebody beats you too.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: I know, somebody's gonna take it now.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Uh, I'm gonna go a little bit different route.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: I'm going to Nimblefoot.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: That is a halfling rogue who is the proprietor of the spear, and he loves to sell it at halfling sporting events, and he calls it the halfling hustler.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: So that's awesome.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: As the halflings are running around uh playing games of run away from the orc, they love to sip on that's an amusement park game.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: They love to sip on the halfling hustler.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Did they use a real orc, or does someone play the role?
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: They just hire a human.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: No, jury's out on if it's uh a paid position or not.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: I feel like we could do a whole episode on the rides at Darsneyland.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: How about a one-shot?
- 11:58unknown: Yes.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: I love it.
- 11:59SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: Roll the barrel, get chased by the orc.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Three tickets.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Darsneyland after dark.
- 12:07SPEAKER_03: For the adults only.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Are you brave enough?
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: You might actually die.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: But then you get one of those uh soul things.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: Soul coin.
- 12:19SPEAKER_03: Soul coin, and you can go spend it at Mahabis.
- 12:21SPEAKER_03: It's great.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: It's all totally worth going.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: It's the house of fun.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: It's actually like takes you to a vernace with Debbie plate.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Whoopsies.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Bring a friend you don't really like.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: You should have read the disclaimer before you got on the ride.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: So while the challenge rating for that adventure might be pretty high, what type of challenge rating would we give this beer?
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: So normally we go from challenge rating one, which is more like an easy drinking cream ale, very smooth intro to uh intro to beer type of beer, all the way up to a challenge rating 20, which is like your hardcore double IPA, kind of extreme for a new beer drinker to jump into.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: Where are we gonna place this one at on our challenge rating scale?
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: Um, I think I think it's on the lower end, um, but probably maybe like four or five-ish for me.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Um I'm just thinking that it's it's pretty sweet.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: Um if you're not really expecting that, like if you think you're gonna drink like a domestic, it's a lot sweeter than that.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: Um and uh to me it just it kind of has a little bit of a syrupy taste that I think is a little bit out there for me, but that's what I'm thinking.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Is the is the person coming to this beer have they not really ever had beer before?
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: Or have they really mostly just had what we what we tend to call domestics?
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: You can give it a disclaimer either way.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: Man, because I Or you have two notes.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: I feel like I usually approach it like they're not someone that maybe identifies themselves as a craft beer drinker.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: That's what I usually go for.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: I don't know that that helped me.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: They're the people that come in and they ask for your course lights.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Who I gem who I generally assume Okay, this is kind of yeah, is a is a beer drinker, would like to have a beer.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: But um I yeah, this one's tricky for me.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: I would I'm gonna put this at I'm gonna put this significantly higher.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna put this at if that's the case then I'm gonna put this at a I'm gonna go it keeps going up in my mind.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: I started at a 10 and now in my mind I'm up to maybe a 14 or 15.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say 15.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: Just because that that lemon lime cranberry flavor, if if you are a person who you know has enjoyed your sort your so-called domestics and and really like that sort of thing and would like a craft version of that, this is not that.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: And and I don't I'm not sure how well that would go.
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: Like if somebody came in and said, What would you recommend?
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: This is not what I would recommend to them if if that makes sense.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: I was like, oh, try this.
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: I bet you'll I bet you like it.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: That's fair.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: I feel like an amber ale may even be more approachable to someone on that scale than something that's this you know out there.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: Boy, you totally fudged up my scale.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: Yep, I feel like mine was wrong.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: But I'm not I'm I'm gonna give this an eight for that exact reason for that for the pretty much that same reason.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: If you have somebody who's familiar with beer and they come in, you're gonna be better off giving them a cream ale.
- 15:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: And it will be more approachable than to them than this.
- 15:56SPEAKER_03: Now, if if they're they come in, they're like, well, what would you like to try?
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: And you're like, light, light, light, light, light.
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 16:03SPEAKER_03: If you tell them that this is more of like a fruity type of beer and they're open to that, it's probably gonna be more like a three.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: So I I don't know.
- 16:13SPEAKER_03: I I I think it's an eight, it's a it's a flat eight, just because I think most people aren't thinking of this flavor when they want a beer.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: On the flip side of this though, is if somebody comes in and they mostly drink mixed drinks, yeah.
- 16:25SPEAKER_03: This is right up their alley.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: Boom.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: Totally.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: You put a shot of vodka in that.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Here's kind of a beer version.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: Or someone walks in, they're like, I don't really like beer.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Like, well, try this.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Actually, you doesn't taste a whole lot like beer.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: I do agree with that.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: If you like soda, like I was gonna go with a one just because it like if if I was gonna recommend this to somebody who liked if they ever liked a cranberry mountain dew, this is really close to something like that.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Very easy to get into if you like that type of flavor.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Wide range of numbers.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I feel like this is probably one of our most like wide.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: So with all those wide numbers, yay or nay.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Would you recommend this?
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: Would you try it again?
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: I'll I'll go first.
- 17:08SPEAKER_03: I I I I'm I'm torn.
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: If I'm looking if I'm look if I'm looking for something unique for me, if I'm looking for something unique and different from what I'm used to, it's a yay.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: I I could drink multiples of these.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: I I do like it.
- 17:21SPEAKER_03: If I'm looking for a beer, it's a nay.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: It is not beery enough for me.
- 17:27SPEAKER_03: Like I I drink a lot of different things now.
- 17:29SPEAKER_03: I drink a lot of IPAs and stuff like that.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: It's not even in the ballpark compared to those types of beers.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: So I do like it.
- 17:35SPEAKER_03: If I'm looking for beer, it's a nay.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: Uh this is this is a nay for me.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: Which I don't mean to be critical of the beer.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: I think the beer is what it is supposed to be, and I don't think that it's bad beer.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: I just I don't need to have another one.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: And if I if I want an alcoholic beverage that is like lemon, lime, cranberry-ish, uh I'll probably just have a mixed drink at that point.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: So um, so I don't need to have another one, but I think that the beer is what it is supposed to be, and and it's good in that way.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: Phil, what about you?
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: I could go either way.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: I think if I'm like, you know, I really just like gosh, man, I want a soda.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: I I go pour one of these out over some ice and just like carry it around and drink it while I'm working, be like, yeah, it's it's just a soda.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: It's good.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Look at how clear it is.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: It hits that note for me, but um probably not if I'm like, yeah, you know, I could really use a drink.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Like that's that's probably not what I would go to, but I I would drink it again.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: And um I would I would recommend still to have people try it.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Uh certain people, right?
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Like there are some people I would steer away from it, but like some people be like, you know what, just like try it.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Like just drink half of the can or whatever.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: Just if you don't like it, I'll drink it.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: I would do one of those for sure.
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: But I I do think this beer has a certain novelty to it, though.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: Like, I I would totally buy some just to have people try.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: Like, you you're not a big beer fan.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: This is a beer.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: Try this, it's pretty good, and you will like it.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: It's not something I would like, but you may like it.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: It's one of those I would have around, like for people that are like, Oh, I don't drink a ton of beer.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: I'm like, well, try this.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: You know, like you say you don't like beer, but it there's beer that doesn't taste like what you call beer.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: You know, you've just never had it.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: So agreed.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: I would give this two big thumbs up.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: I am thinking about getting some more for next time we play DD.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Like that.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: This is the type of beer I would love to just be sipping on while we're playing through a campaign.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: It definitely has that advantage of only being 4%.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: So you can drink a lot of them and be fine.
- 19:43SPEAKER_03: Actually, no, I think we talked about punch earlier.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: You could probably make a pretty good punch out of this, actually.
- 19:47SPEAKER_03: Add some seven up and some more cranberry juice to it, and it's not gonna like feel out of place in that at all.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Are you sure that guy from our last episode we recorded that's serving out of his sidecar isn't serving this to the kids?
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: Just be careful what you say.
- 20:01SPEAKER_03: The FCC's listening.
- 20:03SPEAKER_03: He's a competitor.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: He's gonna get his permit pulled for that stuff.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: This has been a pop cultured lemon lime and cranberry from Obscurity Brewing from Elburn, Illinois.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: You can find them at drinkobscurity.com.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: And that's gonna do it for this bonus episode.
