Defence of Catholic Principles in a Letter to a Protestant Clergyman - Demetrius Gallitzin
Demetrius A. Gallitzin's "Defence of Catholic Principles in a Letter to a Protestant Clergyman" is a compelling response to misconceptions about Catholicism, sparked by a sermon that misrepresented the faith. As a Russian prince turned Catholic priest and the "Apostle of the Alleghenies," Gallitzin dedicated his life to spreading Catholicism in America, investing his fortune in this mission. His letters, originally published in 1816, provide a thoughtful defense of Catholic principles that resonate with ongoing discussions about religious identity and understanding.
