- 0:04Speaker 1: All right, Angie, I want to have some fun with
- 0:05Speaker 1: you here today. It's kind of crummy outside, but that
- 0:07Speaker 1: doesn't mean we're not going to bring some fun and
- 0:09Speaker 1: some positivity to the morning.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Okay, excellent, because everything you said during that weather situation
- 0:14Speaker 2: was bad news to me, So lift my spirits game.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Well, what I want to do is I want to
- 0:19Speaker 1: hit you with some very fast questions, and I need
- 0:23Speaker 1: you to try to answer these as fast as possible.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:26Speaker 4: The theme of this is when was the last time you?
- 0:30Speaker 1: Okay, So if you're listening right now, you're driving, or
- 0:32Speaker 1: you're eating your cheerios, or whatever the case may be,
- 0:34Speaker 1: you can answer these as well. And I kind of
- 0:37Speaker 1: want to see some of these answers out of our
- 0:39Speaker 1: Angie here this morning.
- 0:40Speaker 4: All right, all right, are you ready?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Yes?
- 0:42Speaker 4: When was the last time you danced naked?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Yes? Sturday. We'll start off with a heavy hitter. Yesterday, really, yes, yesterday.
- 0:49Speaker 4: When was the last time you sang karaoke?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Oh?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Whenever? That last time we were at Saloon ninety five
- 0:55Speaker 3: a few moments.
- 0:56Speaker 4: When we all went there.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, all right, When was the last time you
- 1:00Speaker 1: ran a red light?
- 1:02Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:02Speaker 2: My gosh, yesterday, I didn't have I don't have a
- 1:07Speaker 2: lot of depth perception, so when it's yellow sometimes I
- 1:11Speaker 2: think I have you.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Got some time?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, when was the last time that you embarrassed yourself?
- 1:18Speaker 4: Every day? Earlier this morning?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yes, as soon as we cracked up in the mics, Angie.
- 1:24Speaker 4: When was the last time you spoiled yourself?
- 1:27Speaker 3: You know what?
- 1:28Speaker 2: That hasn't happened in a long time, So I feel
- 1:30Speaker 2: like this weekend needs to I need to spoil myself.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I don't know what, but I'll figure it out. It's
- 1:35Speaker 3: probably food related.
- 1:36Speaker 1: On you have a friend coming, so maybe you'll find
- 1:38Speaker 1: something for true. Yes, all right, when's the last time
- 1:41Speaker 1: you gave someone a high five?
- 1:44Speaker 3: Oh? I'm not a high fiver. I'm a fist bumper
- 1:48Speaker 3: me too, Yeah, I'm not a big like Yeah, so
- 1:51Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I actually don't know when I did that last either,
- 1:54Speaker 1: because I always go in for the nuts. Yeah yeah, okay,
- 1:57Speaker 1: when's the last time you gave some one h hickey?
- 2:01Speaker 4: Let me guess this morning?
- 2:02Speaker 3: No, just kidding, I was too tired.
- 2:05Speaker 2: No, uh you know what, No, I haven't given one
- 2:09Speaker 2: in a long time.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Oh, let's change it. Then when's the last time you
- 2:12Speaker 4: had one?
- 2:12Speaker 3: Do you know, maybe like last week?
- 2:15Speaker 4: Wow?
- 2:16Speaker 1: All right, and when it's the last time you'd be
- 2:20Speaker 1: willing to admit you broke the law and got away
- 2:23Speaker 1: with it.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I never break the law except for the fact that
- 2:27Speaker 2: I literally said yesterday I read a red light.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Celebrating life's little victories.
- 2:37Speaker 6: Every morning we practice gratitude on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 2:41Speaker 1: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 2:43Speaker 1: blast job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 2:46Speaker 6: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 2:49Speaker 6: two eight oho one ninety eight seven.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Kids, I also needed to win that day. All right, Angie,
- 2:55Speaker 4: do you have a little victory for me here today?
- 2:57Speaker 3: I sure do. Well, Okay, I've got to because it
- 3:01Speaker 3: is Friday.
- 3:01Speaker 4: I'll let you do.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yeah, all right. Thanks.
- 3:03Speaker 2: So one of my best friends in the entire land
- 3:05Speaker 2: is coming to visit today. We'll see about like the
- 3:10Speaker 2: delays on her flight or whatever. But she's coming to visit.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I haven't seen her in over a year, so that's
- 3:16Speaker 2: very exciting. But I did want to have this as
- 3:19Speaker 2: my main victory because I drove in to work today
- 3:24Speaker 2: in this ridiculous blowing snow weather. So normally my boyfriend
- 3:29Speaker 2: Mikey takes me to work every single day because I'm
- 3:32Speaker 2: a passenger princess and I'm very lucky. However, we had
- 3:37Speaker 2: big happy hour last night at Unhinged Sports Bar in
- 3:40Speaker 2: West Fargo, and when we do that, we take the
- 3:43Speaker 2: big truck out, and I'm the one that's ensured to
- 3:47Speaker 2: drive it.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Mikey is not.
- 3:48Speaker 2: He don't work here, so I had to physically drive
- 3:52Speaker 2: the big truck back this morning. So I was very
- 3:56Speaker 2: nervous because I grew up in the desert in life
- 4:00Speaker 2: Las Vegas, and this is not weather that I ever
- 4:02Speaker 2: had to experience or drive in.
- 4:05Speaker 3: So I made it.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I spun out a little bit coming out of the
- 4:09Speaker 2: neighborhood because it was very snowy and icy, but I
- 4:12Speaker 2: made it to work in one piece, and I feel
- 4:15Speaker 2: really proud of myself. When I got in, I was
- 4:17Speaker 2: telling Megan, who does Who's on after us? I was
- 4:21Speaker 2: telling her about me driving the truck into work, and
- 4:24Speaker 2: she goes, oh'd you put it in four wheel drive?
- 4:27Speaker 5: What?
- 4:29Speaker 3: I don't know anything about four wheel drive.
- 4:31Speaker 4: There's a little button you gotta push.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I didn't know that, so I did not come into
- 4:35Speaker 2: work using four wheel drive, and yet I still made
- 4:38Speaker 2: it in one piece.
- 4:39Speaker 3: So I'm very proud of myself. And that is my
- 4:41Speaker 3: little victory.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Well I will show you how to do that at
- 4:44Speaker 1: some point in your life. Please, very very very easy. Actually, yekay,
- 4:48Speaker 1: all right, my little victory. It is the perfect day
- 4:51Speaker 1: for a flannel Friday. Gross outside, the wind is blowing
- 4:56Speaker 1: and it's going to make driving invisibility tough at moments,
- 4:59Speaker 1: so obviously, so you take it slow on your way
- 5:01Speaker 1: to work today, or if you got to bring the
- 5:03Speaker 1: kids somewhere, whatever the case may be. But it is
- 5:06Speaker 1: a flannel Friday. This is what today is meant for basically.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And my mother in law recently got me two brand
- 5:16Speaker 1: new flannels for Christmas.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I ain't never seen this one.
- 5:20Speaker 1: What I have on is new today. On Christmas or
- 5:24Speaker 1: around Christmas when we saw her she gave me the gift.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I opened it and she like her eyes got all
- 5:29Speaker 1: wide and her mouth dropped and she went, you know, oh, shoot,
- 5:33Speaker 1: that's the wrong one. She had accidentally mixed up presents
- 5:37Speaker 1: and I got a different thing. And then she was
- 5:40Speaker 1: able to send them in the mail just in time
- 5:43Speaker 1: for today.
- 5:45Speaker 3: This is perfect.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Okay, So per tradition, we will take our Flannel Friday
- 5:50Speaker 2: picture together. We'll post it up on the Big ninety
- 5:53Speaker 2: eight point seven Facebook page, and if you're participating in
- 5:56Speaker 2: Flannel Friday, drop a picture in the comments.
- 5:58Speaker 3: We want to see you celebrate.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I will say, there is something that happens here on
- 6:04Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven, this show with Angie where
- 6:07Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but sayings I kind
- 6:10Speaker 1: of never.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Get right, all right.
- 6:12Speaker 1: There's always a version of it, and I know what
- 6:15Speaker 1: the premise or the idea of a saying is, yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 1: but I get them wrong a lot or they're sort
- 6:21Speaker 1: of right, yes, but not quite. And there was a
- 6:24Speaker 1: moment yesterday at Unhinged where your boy he gave it
- 6:28Speaker 1: a shot, but I wasn't quite correct.
- 6:33Speaker 2: This was so wholesome to me because usually, like you said,
- 6:37Speaker 2: it's like idioms like who let the cat out of
- 6:39Speaker 2: the bag?
- 6:40Speaker 3: Or laughing all the way to the bank.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I'm always asking Angie, wait, what's that saying on this
- 6:45Speaker 1: show all the time.
- 6:47Speaker 3: And I love that about you.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But what I loved about yesterday is that you weren't
- 6:52Speaker 2: unsure of what you were going to say. You thought
- 6:56Speaker 2: in your head that you absolutely had this correct.
- 7:00Speaker 4: I crushed it.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and you said it so earnestly, so matter of factly,
- 7:05Speaker 3: and all of us at the table died of laughter.
- 7:08Speaker 2: And we were talking about winter and you know, when
- 7:11Speaker 2: are we finally going to see spring? All this stuff,
- 7:14Speaker 2: and so in discussing that, Gabe said, oh, yeah, you
- 7:18Speaker 2: know when the hedgehog sees the sun.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Was close.
- 7:25Speaker 2: It was like, do you mean when the ground hog
- 7:29Speaker 2: sees its shadow?
- 7:32Speaker 5: And you were just so.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Just earnest about it. You genuinely thought I got this right.
- 7:39Speaker 2: This is I mean, just confidently. Oh yeah, we'll find
- 7:43Speaker 2: out when the hedgehog sees the sun.
- 7:47Speaker 6: Oh god.
- 7:47Speaker 4: It is moments like this.
- 7:49Speaker 1: If you've ever wondered, you know, I wonder what Angie's
- 7:51Speaker 1: like off the air, what what Gabe is like off
- 7:54Speaker 1: the air, Well you can always find out it unhinge
- 7:56Speaker 1: sports bar on Thursdays.
- 7:57Speaker 4: For big happy hours.
- 7:58Speaker 1: That's right, but that basically sums me up in a
- 8:02Speaker 1: nutshell right there, not quite right, but not far off.
- 8:06Speaker 3: But not far off. And you know what, confident about it?
- 8:09Speaker 4: That's right.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Now, I've seen the terminator. Okay, these robots might take
- 8:20Speaker 1: over the world. So just keep that in mind as
- 8:22Speaker 1: we dissect this conversation. I think this conversation is very
- 8:26Speaker 1: very interesting. Stranger Things is catching a little bit of
- 8:29Speaker 1: heat all right off the final season.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Allegedly fans saw in the documentary.
- 8:35Speaker 2: They think they saw a chat GPT tab open on
- 8:38Speaker 2: one of the computers and they were saying, oh, did
- 8:41Speaker 2: they use chat gpt to write the script?
- 8:44Speaker 3: And if they did, a lot of people are saying,
- 8:46Speaker 3: that's cheating. No, that's not art, that's not because AI
- 8:50Speaker 3: did it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So our question for you this morning seven oh
- 8:53Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight seven does using
- 8:57Speaker 1: AI either in art for you? Or should AI just
- 9:02Speaker 1: still be considered art? And for some reason, I have
- 9:06Speaker 1: a weird distinction with.
- 9:08Speaker 2: This, what do you think I think that AI is
- 9:11Speaker 2: not I think AI can help you in creating your art.
- 9:17Speaker 2: But if you just rely solely on AI to create
- 9:20Speaker 2: any kind of art piece, that's not art. Right, It's
- 9:24Speaker 2: just not if I instructed AI to come up with
- 9:27Speaker 2: a beautiful landscape with a waterfall and a building in
- 9:30Speaker 2: the background and all this, and then it generates the
- 9:33Speaker 2: image that.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Is not art. I didn't make that. I didn't paint
- 9:37Speaker 3: that myself. I just gave prompts to a robot.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And did it.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Like, no, we can't take credit for that. That is
- 9:43Speaker 3: not art.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yeah, there is something about tiny, maybe little minuscule screw
- 9:48Speaker 1: ups in a painting that a human did ye make
- 9:51Speaker 1: it more artistic. I don't know why, but there's something
- 9:54Speaker 1: about if you use chat GPT for a TV show
- 9:58Speaker 1: or a movie, I don't care. I'll give you still,
- 10:01Speaker 1: I'll give you all the credit in the world for
- 10:03Speaker 1: making the show. I don't know if it has to
- 10:04Speaker 1: do it because that is such a big project and
- 10:06Speaker 1: so many people you are creating that that it doesn't
- 10:11Speaker 1: really take anything away from me. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 1: that's cool. Chat GPT helped me out. I don't care.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Now if a singer who writes songs uses chat GPT
- 10:22Speaker 1: to me, that is that would be cheating for me
- 10:25Speaker 1: because writing a song, the brain is part of the
- 10:28Speaker 1: instrument that I like.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I don't.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I don't well, I don't exactly know how I want
- 10:33Speaker 1: to put this, but I don't really see the instrument
- 10:36Speaker 1: in a movie being your.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Brain does the dialogue?
- 10:42Speaker 6: Is it?
- 10:42Speaker 3: Are you not that because there's more components? Is that
- 10:45Speaker 3: what you're saying?
- 10:46Speaker 1: I think so I don't know why, but that's just
- 10:48Speaker 1: how it feels for me. You know, i'd be Would
- 10:50Speaker 1: you not be so bummed if you're a big swiftye
- 10:53Speaker 1: and you found out that she's just chat gpting away
- 10:57Speaker 1: at every song? That would stink. If I found out
- 11:01Speaker 1: that whoever made the movie Training Day use chat GPT.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I still think Denzel and Ethan Hawk crushed in that movie.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I don't really care.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I feel like for you, maybe it's set there are
- 11:11Speaker 2: just with singing, there are just fewer components, right, exactly
- 11:15Speaker 2: the song and the music.
- 11:18Speaker 3: But with the movie, there's so much that goes into
- 11:20Speaker 3: it that the whole.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Thing can't be AI. What if the movie is AI
- 11:26Speaker 2: in that all of it is AI, like the animation,
- 11:30Speaker 2: the graphics, Like, what if it's like a Pixar movie.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I'm out, but it's but it's AI generated.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Everything was That would not be cool.
- 11:39Speaker 2: But if it's real people and they're just using whatever
- 11:42Speaker 2: the prompts where that's.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Fine to you.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm not really like an animated movie fan per se,
- 11:47Speaker 1: So doesn't that wouldn't matter?
- 11:48Speaker 2: All right?
- 11:49Speaker 3: So wouldn't apply interest?
- 11:51Speaker 1: We do have Spencer, Spencer, what do you think should
- 11:54Speaker 1: AI be considered arts or using AI.
- 11:58Speaker 5: Then it could be considered art. Just because it was
- 12:01Speaker 5: created by a computer doesn't mean it's not art.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Okay, So he thinks if you draw inspiration from it, okay,
- 12:09Speaker 1: it could still be considered art.
- 12:10Speaker 3: All right.
- 12:11Speaker 4: We also have Mandy, Mandy, what do you think?
- 12:13Speaker 5: No, it's impressive, but it's more like a tool than
- 12:16Speaker 5: an artist, like photoshop didn't win a Grammy, and neither
- 12:19Speaker 5: should an algorithm.
- 12:21Speaker 4: That's actually a good way.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Yes, that is a good point.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I the human touch is important, that's right. Seven oh
- 12:27Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight seven. It's just
- 12:30Speaker 1: kind of a fun conversation to have on the heels
- 12:32Speaker 1: of stranger thing, catching stranger things, excuse me, catching a
- 12:35Speaker 1: little bit of heat.
- 12:36Speaker 4: And it's just interesting to hear what people think.
- 12:38Speaker 3: This entire show is AI. No, I'm kidding, This.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Is am I the problem.
- 12:47Speaker 3: It's the problem.
- 12:50Speaker 2: It's me.
- 12:51Speaker 6: We'll hear one side of the story, and with your help,
- 12:54Speaker 6: am I the problem, decide if it's right or if
- 12:57Speaker 6: maybe you're the problem. I'm hardly the On Big ninety
- 13:01Speaker 6: eight point seven.
- 13:02Speaker 2: We had Shannon right into us and I love Bestie drama. Hey,
- 13:08Speaker 2: Big ninety eight point seven Morning show. I need outside
- 13:11Speaker 2: opinions because I'm spirally. My bestie has been dating her
- 13:14Speaker 2: boyfriend for a while. He's cool or whatever.
- 13:18Speaker 6: Is he.
- 13:20Speaker 3: All right?
- 13:21Speaker 2: All right, he's cool or whatever? But on her birthday
- 13:23Speaker 2: they got into it over her dress. He thought it
- 13:26Speaker 2: was too revealing and was being a jerk. I want
- 13:28Speaker 2: to use a different word about it.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Thanks for keeping it radio friendly girl.
- 13:32Speaker 2: We appreciate that it didn't ruin the night, but we
- 13:35Speaker 2: were talking about it after the fact and I said,
- 13:38Speaker 2: he's just mad because he's too ugly for her.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Wow.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I thought she was gonna laugh, but it hurt her feelings,
- 13:45Speaker 2: probably because I wasn't joking.
- 13:47Speaker 3: But what does it matter if I think he's ugly.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Actually, she didn't appreciate my candor, and she's acting weird
- 13:53Speaker 2: and short with me. Let me know if I'm the problem,
- 13:56Speaker 2: even though I totally think i'm not.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Wow.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Okay, Shannon, I hate to say it because I get
- 14:02Speaker 2: where you're coming from. However, you are the problem because
- 14:07Speaker 2: your bestie hasn't broken up.
- 14:08Speaker 3: With him yet.
- 14:10Speaker 2: You can't trash talk him while they're still together. Even
- 14:13Speaker 2: though they got into a fight, they're still together. So
- 14:17Speaker 2: you got to keep those really, really honest opinions to yourself.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Now when they actually split, talk about how he is
- 14:26Speaker 2: one quasi moto looking mother effort.
- 14:31Speaker 3: And that's only after they break up.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Right now, you are the problem. So you should apologize,
- 14:37Speaker 2: even lie and say that you were just kidding. But
- 14:41Speaker 2: when it's over, for real, say I was not kidding
- 14:44Speaker 2: at all.
- 14:44Speaker 5: Girl.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm I do agree with you for the most
- 14:48Speaker 4: part on that. That's fine.
- 14:49Speaker 1: If you think your bestie's guy or your your buddy's
- 14:54Speaker 1: girlfriend is not attractive, that's fine. You're not the one
- 14:57Speaker 1: who's in a relationship with them. Yeah, don't go say
- 15:00Speaker 1: that to someone you're super close to. For Oh, you know,
- 15:03Speaker 1: this fight will blow over or they'll figure something out,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and these people might go on to get married at
- 15:07Speaker 1: some point and forever. This woman now thinks your friend
- 15:12Speaker 1: now goes wow, you like hate this dude, or you
- 15:14Speaker 1: think he's super ugly. I mean, she shouldn't care about that.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I think her bestie's overreacting a little bit. She should
- 15:21Speaker 1: know she's just trying to defend her and say whatever
- 15:23Speaker 1: is gonna make her feel better.
- 15:24Speaker 4: But you can't say that to people.
- 15:27Speaker 3: What do you think seven oh one, two, eight oh one,
- 15:29Speaker 3: nine eight seven.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Should Shannon have kept her mouth shut about her besties
- 15:34Speaker 2: boyfriend being an uggo?
- 15:37Speaker 4: Now have I done this? Of course I have never
- 15:40Speaker 4: done this.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, So Shannon wrote into us, wondering if she was
- 15:52Speaker 2: the problem. Her best friend's been dating this guy for
- 15:55Speaker 2: a while. They got into it at her birthday party,
- 15:59Speaker 2: and so I make her friend feel better. She said
- 16:03Speaker 2: to her, Well, he's just mad. He's too ugly for you,
- 16:06Speaker 2: And now her best friend is upset with her, and
- 16:10Speaker 2: she wants to know. She's a problem for saying that,
- 16:13Speaker 2: for being too honest with her bestie.
- 16:16Speaker 3: We also put this up on the Big ninety eight
- 16:18Speaker 3: points I'm on Facebook page.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I think she is the problem because you can't say
- 16:22Speaker 2: stuff like that until they broke up for good.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Until then, you have to keep your opinions to yourself.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Michelle said, ouch, I don't know if this is repairable
- 16:32Speaker 2: unless they break up. She's obviously hurt. Give her space
- 16:36Speaker 2: and time. Maybe send her a funny friendship greeting card.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Explain you were just trying to make her laugh, and
- 16:41Speaker 2: tell her how much you value her friendship. Good luck
- 16:45Speaker 2: is Michelle, her bestie is Michelle see she really had
- 16:49Speaker 2: some ideas here.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Well, you know what's so funny about this, This seems
- 16:53Speaker 1: very just girl drama, girl coded. I don't feel like
- 16:58Speaker 1: dudes say this to each other unless it's maybe someone
- 17:01Speaker 1: you hooked up with. We might have a smart alec comment.
- 17:03Speaker 5: You know.
- 17:04Speaker 3: But but if it's like a girl, keep your mouth shut.
- 17:07Speaker 1: But if it's just a one night dance, yeah, that's
- 17:10Speaker 1: when you can kind of let the jokes fly, if
- 17:12Speaker 1: you are cool with that, which is still horribly mean.
- 17:15Speaker 4: I'm not saying it's great to sea.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Yeah, right, you do it all the time. No, I'm kidding.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I'm kidding.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Now, a lot of people are saying she is the problem,
- 17:22Speaker 1: but there are a few who see it a different way.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Like Amy.
- 17:26Speaker 1: She said, sometimes best friends have to say the hard stuff.
- 17:30Speaker 1: You saw red flags and spoke up. Now, that is true,
- 17:34Speaker 1: but his looks don't have anything to do with his behavior.
- 17:37Speaker 1: So I don't know if I agree with that.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Maybe they do.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Though when I feel ugly, I'm more of a hater.
- 17:44Speaker 1: And then Erica, Erica I think has something on the
- 17:48Speaker 1: kind of the opposite side that is actual advice. So
- 17:51Speaker 1: kudos to Erica today, she said, you could have worded
- 17:54Speaker 1: it nicer, but you weren't wrong. Is fabulous. This is
- 17:59Speaker 1: a very interesting conversation going out on Facebook. You can
- 18:02Speaker 1: check it out at Big ninety seven's Facebook page. Text
- 18:05Speaker 1: us call us seven oh one two eight zero one
- 18:07Speaker 1: eight seven.
- 18:12Speaker 2: We learned earlier in the show that Gabe didn't know
- 18:17Speaker 2: it was Groundhog's Day, that it was the groundhog looking
- 18:21Speaker 2: for its shadow.
- 18:21Speaker 3: He thought it was when the hedgehog sees the sun.
- 18:26Speaker 4: It was a moment at Unhinged yesterday.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yes, and then Jessica Simpson she's making money off it now,
- 18:32Speaker 2: but back in two thousand and three she was eating
- 18:35Speaker 2: a can of tuna and she didn't know if it
- 18:37Speaker 2: was chicken or fish because the brand was Chicken of
- 18:40Speaker 2: the Sea. So what is your seven oh one two
- 18:43Speaker 2: eight oh one nine eight seven? What is your I.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Should have known this, Yeah, I'm rob I don't. I mean,
- 18:49Speaker 1: obviously I know what Groundhog's Day. I've heard about it.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 18:52Speaker 4: For whatever reason, yesterday I just drew a blank and
- 18:56Speaker 4: I just went.
- 18:56Speaker 3: With when the hedgehog us first of all, using that forever.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Now though I love that, but I don't want you
- 19:04Speaker 2: to feel bad there. I remember there was a time
- 19:08Speaker 2: when I genuinely asked this to my boyfriend and the
- 19:11Speaker 2: look of disappointment that he gave me, like, wow, I
- 19:14Speaker 2: am dating an idiot. I looked at him and I said,
- 19:19Speaker 2: are Chevy and Chevrolet the same thing?
- 19:22Speaker 4: That's wonderful?
- 19:24Speaker 3: And I don't know why I didn't know that, right,
- 19:27Speaker 3: But I should have known that.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Yeah, it's one of those things.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Hey, if you don't ever hear it or someone you
- 19:31Speaker 1: know helps you learn it or corrects you a little bit,
- 19:34Speaker 1: why would you know?
- 19:35Speaker 4: You know, Yeah, you're not into I don't know, fixing.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Cars orping genius.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Okay, we've got seven oh one two eight zero one
- 19:43Speaker 1: nine eight seven for you to reach out to us
- 19:46Speaker 1: this morning.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Something you maybe should have known? What about you, Tanner?
- 19:49Speaker 6: I should have known not to plug in so many
- 19:51Speaker 6: plugs in the one outlet.
- 19:53Speaker 5: It was Christmas and I plugged in a lot of
- 19:56Speaker 5: lights into one of those power strips. It actually started
- 19:59Speaker 5: a fire, and luckily I was able to put it out,
- 20:02Speaker 5: but it could have been really bad if I wasn't home.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, this literally sounds like something straight out of the
- 20:07Speaker 1: movie A Christmas Story.
- 20:08Speaker 3: You learned this in fact.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Who am I to judge, But I feel like that's
- 20:12Speaker 2: a big thing you learn in fire safety elementary school.
- 20:16Speaker 4: I never took fire safety.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I don't think I will light up a plug literally,
- 20:20Speaker 1: all right, What about you, Jessica, Something you maybe should
- 20:24Speaker 1: have known.
- 20:24Speaker 5: I went studied abroad in Italy in college, and I
- 20:27Speaker 5: had this really nice and expensive radio that I connected
- 20:30Speaker 5: to my iPod. I wanted to play music at my
- 20:32Speaker 5: new place, so I brought it with me to Europe.
- 20:34Speaker 5: I plug it in using an adapter, of course, and
- 20:37Speaker 5: it's immediately just fried the device. I should have known
- 20:41Speaker 5: better to not bring an entire radio and just get
- 20:44Speaker 5: one there if I really needed one.
- 20:46Speaker 4: That's very true.
- 20:48Speaker 3: How would you know?
- 20:49Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're going to vacation in Europe, though, just
- 20:52Speaker 1: buy stuff in Europe.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna grat you grace on that one, Jessica.
- 20:56Speaker 3: But I wouldn't Memonie.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Meither's seven one two eight zero one nine eighth Evan.
- 21:00Speaker 1: What should you probably have known, Jessica Simpson and how
- 21:06Speaker 1: she has really two decades later, kind of cashed in
- 21:09Speaker 1: on a blunder in regarding tuna or chicken.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Yeah, she didn't know back in the day on Newlyweds
- 21:15Speaker 2: if it was chicken or fish the tuna that she
- 21:18Speaker 2: was eating, So what was your I should have known moment?
- 21:22Speaker 2: Damien texted us, this is like my favorite fabulous.
- 21:27Speaker 1: He said, As a child, I didn't realize onion rings
- 21:32Speaker 1: contained onions. I thought they just were called that because
- 21:36Speaker 1: of how they were shaped. The second I found out
- 21:39Speaker 1: it was onions, Damien stopped eating them, which.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Is fabulous, even though they tasted because he's like, I
- 21:46Speaker 2: cannot support that not eating onions ever again, even if
- 21:49Speaker 2: there's a fire.
- 21:53Speaker 1: A day like today reminds me of Christmas or it
- 21:55Speaker 1: makes me feel like Christmas, not the dog days of
- 21:59Speaker 1: January winter. What kind of day is January sixteenth? I'd mean, really,
- 22:04Speaker 1: it's a nothing day. I will say it is. Today
- 22:07Speaker 1: is national do nothing Day. But it's also my brother
- 22:09Speaker 1: Chris's birthday.
- 22:10Speaker 3: So I had.
- 22:12Speaker 1: With the weather being what it is and it feeling
- 22:15Speaker 1: very winter wonder landy, you can let us know it
- 22:19Speaker 1: won't hurt our feelings and it shouldn't hurt anyone else's feelings.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Do you have your Christmas cards? Fill up? And I
- 22:27Speaker 4: did look this up.
- 22:28Speaker 1: The average person keeps Christmas cards for a few weeks,
- 22:31Speaker 1: usually until the decorations come down. But how long they're
- 22:34Speaker 1: kept depends on a lot of other things. You know,
- 22:37Speaker 1: how much it's sentimental to you who gave it to you,
- 22:40Speaker 1: all this stuff. I have a buddy named Sam, who
- 22:42Speaker 1: I love to death. I was the best man in
- 22:45Speaker 1: his wedding. He was the best man in my wedding.
- 22:47Speaker 1: We got a Christmas card from Sam a little late.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I think it showed up maybe January eighth, seventh, something
- 22:55Speaker 1: like that, you know, really slow in the mail, I think,
- 22:57Speaker 1: And basically his Christmas card got to see the light
- 23:02Speaker 1: of day for about forty eight hours before it cuts
- 23:04Speaker 1: stowed away.
- 23:05Speaker 3: We are such opposite people gave. So you've gotten rid.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Of all of your holiday cards, single one? Do you
- 23:12Speaker 2: trash them or do you keep them? Or you don't
- 23:15Speaker 2: want to out yourself on that.
- 23:16Speaker 3: At the very least, they're not.
- 23:17Speaker 4: On the fridge anymore, right, they're not in the fridge.
- 23:20Speaker 4: We I don't know what we did this year. Normally,
- 23:23Speaker 4: Corey'll put them in like a.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Shoebox or something stupid, and then I'll throw the shoe
- 23:26Speaker 1: box away.
- 23:29Speaker 4: But I saw I chuck them.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Mostly my holiday cards are still up Not only are
- 23:35Speaker 2: they still up on the refrigerator, they stay there for
- 23:39Speaker 2: the entire year until December. That's insane when I clear
- 23:43Speaker 2: them off and then get ready for the new holiday
- 23:46Speaker 2: cards to come in. But I like having them on
- 23:48Speaker 2: there because most of the time the Christmas. If you
- 23:51Speaker 2: send me a Christmas card and it's just like a
- 23:54Speaker 2: card and you wrote stuff in it, nothing's going in
- 23:56Speaker 2: the trash. Sorry, but I read it and I appreciate it.
- 23:59Speaker 2: But if it's a Christmas card where it has a
- 24:01Speaker 2: photo of you with your family, I love that, especially
- 24:05Speaker 2: if there's pets in the photo. Absolutely I would like
- 24:09Speaker 2: to look at that year round. And then once the
- 24:12Speaker 2: new ones come in, then I'll clear those out. And
- 24:14Speaker 2: I don't throw those in the trash. I keep them
- 24:16Speaker 2: in a like a heavy duty ziplock freezer bag.
- 24:21Speaker 3: I don't put it in a freezer.
- 24:23Speaker 4: That's just where you leave those up for twelve months.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Yeah. See, I wouldn't call myself a neat freak or
- 24:31Speaker 1: a clean freak, not even close. But I don't like clutter.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And when I can declutter my fridge, I feel like
- 24:38Speaker 1: I lost five pounds.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Well, you're a hater and you're a grnch.
- 24:43Speaker 2: We put this up on the Big ninety eight points
- 24:45Speaker 2: up on Facebook page, and a lot of people so
- 24:48Speaker 2: far are like me in that they still have their
- 24:51Speaker 2: holiday cards up. Michelle actually she sent us a picture
- 24:54Speaker 2: which this is kind of cool. I put mine around
- 24:56Speaker 2: a door frame. They're still up. Not sure when I'll
- 24:58Speaker 2: take them down. I love seeing my family and friends
- 25:00Speaker 2: smiling faces.
- 25:01Speaker 3: That's why I keep mine up. I like them.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Christy still got hers up. Jacqueline still has hers up
- 25:07Speaker 2: in the dining room, but they're likely going to be
- 25:10Speaker 2: purged this week.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Good grand Jane did actually let us know about our
- 25:15Speaker 1: Christmas card that we sent out this year, Angie. She said,
- 25:18Speaker 1: my Christmas cards, including yours, are still hanging up. So
- 25:24Speaker 1: we are on someone's fridge or door.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Yes, somewhere this morning.
- 25:29Speaker 3: We feel honored.
- 25:31Speaker 4: When is it time to get rid of the Christmas card?
- 25:33Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven
- 25:36Speaker 1: or are you like me and those things are gone?
- 25:39Speaker 4: Early January.
- 25:45Speaker 6: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 25:49Speaker 6: good News on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 25:53Speaker 1: David Sylvester has spent the past twenty five years doling
- 25:57Speaker 1: out as many hugs as possible. You might come across
- 26:01Speaker 1: this guy's name as you're scrolling through your social media today.
- 26:04Speaker 1: His friend was in one of the towers on nine
- 26:07Speaker 1: to eleven and didn't make it out, and Dave says
- 26:09Speaker 1: he was a lifelong positive presence, so he's been doing
- 26:13Speaker 1: it as a tribute to him. In the past twenty
- 26:15Speaker 1: five years, he has clipped the one million mark. He
- 26:19Speaker 1: has hugged over one million people in all fifty states
- 26:23Speaker 1: and forty two different countries. He published a book called
- 26:28Speaker 1: One Hug at a Time. Now he has a new
- 26:31Speaker 1: one called Brothers in Arms, Real Men Hug. And this
- 26:34Speaker 1: is just a wonderful story coming out of Dave who
- 26:37Speaker 1: obviously had something very negative in his life happened, and
- 26:40Speaker 1: he's trying his best to just remember his friend and
- 26:43Speaker 1: bring some positivity to the world.
- 26:46Speaker 3: This makes me really emotional.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I think my favorite thing in the world when I'm
- 26:50Speaker 2: having a bad day is a nice, big hug.
- 26:52Speaker 3: And it's really sweet that he does.
- 26:54Speaker 1: It's very very sweet. The world is full of nice people.
- 26:58Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be. Dave is
- 27:01Speaker 1: literally who I'm talking about when we say that at
- 27:03Speaker 1: the end of every show here on Big ninety eight
- 27:05Speaker 1: point seven,
