- 0:47it's for the cultured among us the hot ones yep which we know francis thinks everyone's hot but
- 0:54there's still another category of hot,
- 0:57the really hot ones.
- 0:59Sizzlers.
- 1:00Yes,
- 1:01that's right.
- 1:01Sizzlers.
- 1:03This one's for you.
- 1:06Today's Sizzler only episode.
- 1:09We're going deep.
- 1:12We're going to,
- 1:13we're going to learn a little bit more about,
- 1:16about Francis and maybe a little bit more about myself too in the process.
- 1:23Okay.
- 1:24Francis, get this ball rolling.
- 1:27Okay.
- 1:27I want you to know something about me.
- 1:33I hate when strangers talk to me.
- 1:38Ooh.
- 1:39That's, I hate that as well.
- 1:43But are you talking about across the board?
- 1:45No.
- 1:46Because if you're like, okay, I hate it when people make small talk in line, like in a store.
- 1:53and then you're like, ah, I gotta be, do I have to be on or do I just like nod and be like, oh, yeah.
- 2:01Or are you talking about like if someone comes up to you and is making a conversation?
- 2:06Like if my neighbor, I mean, that's a bad example.
- 2:09Hypothetically.
- 2:10Hypothetically, yeah.
- 2:11Okay, so give me a scenario.
- 2:13What would be the worst case stranger talking to you?
- 2:16if there's any possibility or a likely possibility that this conversation is going to end with
- 2:23me being asked for something don't it makes all the conversation we just had
- 2:30mean nothing do you are you are you ever like like on edge like the second someone starts
- 2:37talking to you you're just like prepped for that for that like all right what do you want
- 2:42Not since I started pretending to be on the phone.
- 2:48Excuse me.
- 2:49I'm about to get a call.
- 2:50No, no, no.
- 2:51I'm good at it now.
- 2:51I parked the car, put the phone to my face, get out of the car, and I talk to myself.
- 2:58What do you say to yourself?
- 3:00Mostly just listening noises.
- 3:02So I'm like, oh, yeah, no, no.
- 3:03I just got here.
- 3:04Uh-huh.
- 3:05No.
- 3:07That's so funny.
- 3:09Oh, my God.
- 3:09They died?
- 3:11No.
- 3:12I really don't have an Emmy to talk to anyone else about something lighthearted now.
- 3:15My heart.
- 3:18I was going to give somebody some spare change that I had, but I can't do it now.
- 3:23I need it all for phone calls.
- 3:27Because I'm staying on the line with you, but I still got to call other people.
- 3:31Get me to a pay phone.
- 3:32I actually told somebody one time, this was an accident.
- 3:35Somebody came up and asked me, do you have any spare change?
- 3:37And I was very young, so sorry.
- 3:40but I was like you're allowed to be young yeah it was couldn't help it and I was like yes
- 3:46and they were like can I have some and I literally was like I'm gonna use it
- 3:51sorry yeah I uh I think that's totally valid and I also like I think
- 4:01I people ask me for money all the time not all the time I think a normal amount
- 4:06By the way, after this, I have something to ask you
- 4:09Oh, good
- 4:11Let's just ruin all the conversation that's about to come
- 4:14People will be like, oh, do you have it?
- 4:17And I'll always be like, sorry, I don't have any cash
- 4:19Even if I do have cash
- 4:21Because that cash is actually earmarked for something
- 4:24It's like, okay, I guess technically my wallet contains cash
- 4:29But it's like I'm giving away somebody else's cash
- 4:32It's like, it's not mine to give
- 4:34That's for whatchamacallit from Circle K
- 4:36Yes.
- 4:37And that's, you mean a literal whatchamacallit, the candy bar.
- 4:40Yeah.
- 4:41Yeah.
- 4:41That's, yeah.
- 4:42I wasn't being vague.
- 4:43No.
- 4:44You're being actually the opposite of vague.
- 4:47You were being very specific.
- 4:50And I, so I feel like that's a valid response too.
- 4:54It's like, no, this is $10 that I have that is going,
- 5:00like I am planning to tip somebody later with this cash.
- 5:03That's not yours.
- 5:04I'm glad you agree with me.
- 5:05I've been carrying this burden for years.
- 5:07No.
- 5:07We either the same kind of good person or the same kind of bad person But either way we the same the pendulum swings yeah do you do you hate anything yeah i do hate things um i well i also hate having to deal with
- 5:28strangers um especially this may this especially older women uh i don't know why i think i feel like
- 5:40sometimes they get a little too familiar and it's like you know we're not peers right like
- 5:47don't think of us as equals here i'm much younger than you just pull out your id in that situation
- 5:53and you're like, see what it says under DOB?
- 5:55Yeah.
- 5:56I've had multiple women tell me before,
- 5:58older women tell me like,
- 6:00they'll like pull me,
- 6:01like kind of like conspiratorially,
- 6:02like hit me in the arm and be like,
- 6:04just so you know, your purse isn't zipped up.
- 6:08It's like, yeah, I know.
- 6:09I know that.
- 6:10That's a youthful thing I'm doing.
- 6:12Us young people don't zip our purses.
- 6:15It's like, this happened to me multiple times in New York.
- 6:20It's like, I'm fine.
- 6:21I'm capable of handling myself.
- 6:23I'm aware of the level of risk involved in having an unzipped purse.
- 6:27And it just like annoyed the crap out of me.
- 6:30Just like how often did this happen with the purse?
- 6:32This happened three separate times.
- 6:35That's a fashion statement at that point.
- 6:37And it's not the same way.
- 6:38It was just random.
- 6:39Like, I think they were like tourists and like in New York.
- 6:42It was like, it's like, yeah, I'm good.
- 6:45Thank you.
- 6:46Thank you very much.
- 6:47but yeah I don't want them to think
- 6:50that like we're close in
- 6:52age or that
- 6:54I don't know I'm a real thing about
- 6:56old women old women and I know you're listening
- 6:58there goes half our subscribers
- 7:00wait we got a lot of sizzlers
- 7:02that are old women
- 7:04you're half but you're old
- 7:05you're different if you're a sizzler you're not included
- 7:08in this category you're cut above
- 7:10are going to be unzipped after this
- 7:11oh
- 7:12hello zeitgeist we got a new one
- 7:16for you. Yeah. Uh, it, it just, uh, that is specifically old women really drives me crazy.
- 7:25And I know that I, I know it's because it's like, I don't want to be that person someday.
- 7:31I'm God willing, I'm going to get older. Uh, I'm not going to die tomorrow. So eventually I will
- 7:38be their age. I don't want to be that kind of old lady though. So anyway, that's one of my fears
- 7:46too. Oh.
- 7:48So I hate and I fear.
- 7:49I don't want to be seen as like the doddering old
- 7:52woman.
- 7:54I'll let you know.
- 7:56Please do.
- 7:57Let me know by the barrel
- 8:00of the gun to the back of my head.
- 8:02You'll just hear the cock.
- 8:03And then I'll know.
- 8:05Oh, shoot. Okay.
- 8:07Time to change.
- 8:11Yeah, so I don't like that.
- 8:13Okay. Thanks for sharing your fear as well.
- 8:15yeah do you have any fears i do uh spiders in the toilet
- 8:18under the rim have you was this is this just an imagined fear or have you actually witnessed it
- 8:26and it's like this is real um it's imagined and every time i have to use the toilet i have to
- 8:33get the wand and do a spider check do like a clinkly bang some pots together like get out
- 8:40spiders get out i'm coming i've got a bag of little shoes in here
- 8:45they're all because they would want shoes yeah they got eight legs you're in the toilet get out
- 8:51i'm always worried that one will come out yeah if spiders wore shoes what kind of shoes do you
- 9:00think they'd wear like what would you think the spiders preferred shoe would be um well they need
- 9:06to be quiet because of their murder so silent shoes or like orthopedic nurse shoes that's
- 9:15a funny image yeah um i was thinking like those really like creepy toe shoes
- 9:23but but then they don't have toes so it would just be they're wearing cork
- 9:29cork yeah um spiders if you're listening and we know you are there's a bunch of
- 9:39sizzling spiders let us know in the comments drop us a line uh if you're capable boost us
- 9:46uh tell us what kind of shoes you wear uh we'll move your comment to the front
- 9:51thanks can i tell you something sad please um i i've started to not want to kill them
- 9:59like if there's like a bug i know i'm becoming less of a monster um but like i get them and i
- 10:06throw them outside but i had one in my house the other day and i had like a a cup and then like it
- 10:11was like a big daddy long legs huge and i got it in the cup and then i couldn't get it off the wall
- 10:17so I was like
- 10:18yeah
- 10:18cause like you gotta
- 10:19how do you
- 10:19yeah
- 10:20and it was near the lip
- 10:21so I'm like
- 10:22I need you
- 10:22at the base
- 10:23and it wouldn't move
- 10:25so I kept moving it and like it would fall and then get right back up and then it got to a point where it like pulled itself up small and I was like it scared It doesn know what I trying to do
- 10:36Then I finally got it and I threw it outside.
- 10:39Well, you saved it.
- 10:40Right.
- 10:40But just seeing it be like.
- 10:43You saw its little spider lip quivering.
- 10:45Its little barefoot spider.
- 10:46Its big spider eyes blinked at you.
- 10:49Yeah.
- 10:49It like pulled its little legs in close.
- 10:51so you gave it like a little uh fireman's blanket or what do they call a little cocoa yeah
- 10:58tell your friends stay out of my house
- 11:01see i feel like spiders are not bad they do i don't mind spiders they do work for me they
- 11:11they get rid of other crappy bugs like mosquitoes and flying bugs now i know how to have value to
- 11:18you yeah i gotta put you to work is there what do you think is the what species could we eliminate
- 11:30from the planet right now and it would not you don't think it would have any kind of ecological
- 11:36effect i would say humans but that is it would have a huge effect so um so that would be wrong
- 11:44that would be wrong i would say it but that would be a stupid answer well like maybe if we didn't
- 11:48have like there was like no nuclear reactors or sites or whatever maybe because we did that it's
- 11:54like well now we got to be here yeah like work on them so we'll stay for now okay thank you for
- 12:01saving us yeah i think um they i think there's probably all of them do something right okay
- 12:08i was thinking about it my two least favorite that's not what you asked i know no i realized
- 12:14that but i also think it happens to coincide with the least useful name one thing cockroaches do
- 12:24to help oh can you i can't we're always so busy running we never stop to ask
- 12:32that's why they're chasing this is what we do this good my resume i read to blind kids kids
- 12:41that's why there's so many illiterate roaches they're they're always looking for our kids
- 12:46yeah our kids like out there roaches is a good isn't it interesting that beauty is like
- 12:55the thing that we you like a butterfly's like come on guys so cute and it's like roach
- 13:03can i tell you a story about butterflies yeah uh there was what i was at the
- 13:10Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C.
- 13:14And they had like a butterfly room where you like walk
- 13:16and there's tons of butterflies flying around, whatever.
- 13:19So I walk into the room.
- 13:21There's all these shitty kids around too.
- 13:24I know.
- 13:26Good luck.
- 13:27And so then all of a sudden, like a bunch of the kids
- 13:31and like a mom, they're like, no, no, no, no.
- 13:33Like, stop, stop, stop.
- 13:35I was like, what, what?
- 13:36Like, no, don't move, don't move.
- 13:38And I was like, what is happening?
- 13:40And they're like, don't move.
- 13:41And I'm looking around and they're not telling me what it is that I should be not moving for.
- 13:46I'm looking around.
- 13:47I don't see anything.
- 13:50And so I was like, all right, well, screw this.
- 13:53I'm going to walk.
- 13:54And then I walked and they're like, you killed it.
- 13:57I guess there was a butterfly under my foot that I didn't see.
- 14:01I was like, well, you could have said there is a butterfly under your shoe.
- 14:04You just said, stop.
- 14:06Like, don't.
- 14:07It's like, that's not useful information to me at some point in time.
- 14:10I gave it a good like 15 seconds before.
- 14:12Okay.
- 14:12That's plenty of time for them to be like,
- 14:13and here's more information.
- 14:14Yes,
- 14:14exactly.
- 14:16It wasn't like I was mid run and I could,
- 14:18it's like,
- 14:18I stopped.
- 14:19Like I was like,
- 14:20what's going on?
- 14:21I looked around,
- 14:22couldn't find anything.
- 14:23And then I was like,
- 14:24well,
- 14:24I got to quickly exit this butterfly enclosure now.
- 14:26Cause I'm the one that murdered a butterfly.
- 14:28I wonder if your picture's up there.
- 14:30Yes.
- 14:31They have a little mugshot of me or it's like one of those FBI,
- 14:33like the grainy ones where it's like,
- 14:35just like me in black and white looking over my shoulder.
- 14:38Yeah,
- 14:39probably.
- 14:40I probably do
- 14:41do not accept checks
- 14:42yeah
- 14:43anyway
- 14:45the other
- 14:46species I think
- 14:47I don't know what they do
- 14:48although I feel like
- 14:49there might be something
- 14:50an argument
- 14:51I can't think of one
- 14:53for a cockroach
- 14:54but the other one
- 14:55I would get rid of
- 14:55would be mosquitoes
- 14:57ugh so annoying
- 14:58I know
- 14:59and they must do something
- 15:01but
- 15:02yeah
- 15:02ew
- 15:07sorry
- 15:09I heard that they only like a certain kind of blood
- 15:12My blood?
- 15:14That's what it seems like
- 15:15Yeah
- 15:16I think if I had to choose
- 15:20To just get rid of it
- 15:21I'd be like
- 15:21I'm always worried there's gonna be a scorpion
- 15:24You know
- 15:25And I'm like I don't wanna worry about that anymore
- 15:27So goodbye you're gone
- 15:28That's one
- 15:30Scorpion?
- 15:31Yeah
- 15:31And I'm also always worried about
- 15:33That's in there
- 15:33I know they're very important
- 15:34But like
- 15:35Every time I go outside
- 15:37I'm like ugh
- 15:37Is there gonna be a snake here?
- 15:38Hmm.
- 15:39Huh.
- 15:40Have you run into a lot of snakes Not one That not true I saw one In a zoo No in the street Oh okay It was black and white
- 15:52Oh.
- 15:52Yeah.
- 15:54Was the stripe white or the stripe black?
- 15:58I'm assuming it was a stripe.
- 15:59Well, how do you...
- 16:00Who's to say?
- 16:01There's two colors separated by...
- 16:03Oh.
- 16:04Huh.
- 16:04This is the kind of deep question we talk about.
- 16:08Herpetology 101.
- 16:08One subscriber.
- 16:10Sizzlers only.
- 16:11I didn't think you were getting this deep.
- 16:14Oh.
- 16:16Well, I feel like I know so much more about you now.
- 16:19Would you pick a snake up?
- 16:23Is it asking me to?
- 16:25Yes.
- 16:25Like, why?
- 16:26Would there be a...
- 16:27If there was a reason, then it wouldn't kill me.
- 16:30Sometimes you don't know.
- 16:32Would you feel confident enough?
- 16:34You know how there's that rhyme about snakes being deadly?
- 16:37like if like if it's red you're dead if it's yellow you're fine fellow yeah yeah like would
- 16:46you trust yourself to remember in the moment which one was safe no and i feel like those rhymes are
- 16:51not ever helpful because it's like you could kind of fit whatever you wanted
- 16:57like you could fit like you if if it's yellow you'll be dead yo like you can you could make
- 17:08a version of it oh my god i know now i know in like six months someone's gonna hear this
- 17:13they're gonna be out of nature and be like yellow dead yo yeah see like exactly it's like you can
- 17:20fit make it fit either way that's my motto if it's black you're fine jack
- 17:25if it's black jack it's cool
- 17:28foo
- 17:29so no
- 17:32I don't I wouldn't trust
- 17:34myself to remember that
- 17:36properly did we talk about snakes
- 17:38before I don't think so
- 17:40because I wanted to I heard that
- 17:42if you get bit by a rattlesnake
- 17:45are you sure I didn't tell you this
- 17:46I love this fact that I'm not sure if it's true
- 17:48your favorite
- 17:50nebulous facts yes
- 17:52if you get bit by a rattlesnake
- 17:54and you're near a kingsnake
- 17:57and you let the kingsnake bite you,
- 18:00it undoes the poison from the rattlesnake.
- 18:05So they cancel each other out.
- 18:07No, I think now you just have to worry about the kingsnake.
- 18:11So then you're just going to die from a different kind of snake bite?
- 18:15Maybe.
- 18:17It's true, we don't know.
- 18:18I thought this because I lived out by the White Tanks
- 18:19and there was a wildlife museum.
- 18:21And I was like, oh God, if I'm ever out,
- 18:23and a rattlesnake bites me,
- 18:24I could run to the wildlife place
- 18:27and stick my hand in the kingsnake tank.
- 18:30That's also,
- 18:31that's why I carry a kingsnake around with me at all times.
- 18:34It's like an EpiPen.
- 18:36Just to be safe.
- 18:39But the snake's like scared to bite.
- 18:42Well, that's why I keep my purse unzipped.
- 18:45That's what's in there, the snake.
- 18:46Just because I need to immediately plunge my wrist into the,
- 18:49bite me.
- 18:50Imagine if one of those ladies says something to you
- 18:52And in response, the snake just comes out and looks at them.
- 18:56That would be terrifying.
- 18:58That would be, but it would be funny.
- 19:01And the snake just goes, you're not her peer.
- 19:04Get out of here.
- 19:06You are old.
- 19:08Hiss.
- 19:11I'm sorry, but every time I think of snakes, I think of Robin Hood, the animated movie.
- 19:14Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 19:15Do you remember when he sucks the jewels out of the rings?
- 19:17Yes.
- 19:18I think about that all the time.
- 19:19Yep.
- 19:20All the time.
- 19:21I always wanted to do that.
- 19:22yeah and he smiles and all the jewels are in his yeah but that wasn't the snake though that was
- 19:28prince john right yeah yeah yeah uh yeah or yeah it was on it was prince john's
- 19:36it was his rings right no it was uh the kick or it was the the bear side kick was doing it to
- 19:46prince john yeah yeah exactly yeah um i also think about from that there's so hiss is the
- 19:52snake and that there's some like he's he's in his basket and then he comes out and he does this thing
- 19:56where he like kind of folds himself in a way and it looks like folded arms hanging out over the
- 20:02basket i always like that yeah okay snakes can stay i've changed my mind okay all right well
- 20:09snakes today's your lucky day you get a reprieve well thanks for going deep with you francis i feel
- 20:16Like, we got a deep dive into the both of us.
- 20:20Let's just assess the surface.
- 20:22No, I know.
- 20:22This is, oh, man.
- 20:25Listeners, you are in for a treat.
- 20:26Next week it's...
- 20:28Even deeper.
- 20:29And harder.
- 20:33Yep.
- 20:33Aren't you glad you paid?
- 20:36Aren't you glad you paid?
- 20:38All right.
- 20:42Well, thanks for listening.
- 20:44Bye.
- 20:46The days collect like seven.
