- 0:42platforms. That's including Facebook,
- 0:44TikTok, Instagram, Twitter threads, everything you can
- 0:46think of. Guys, I want to talk about
- 0:47autism and OCD now. This is something that has been
- 0:50on my mind for a while. I suffer from OCD and I suffer
- 0:53from many mental health issues, but I also have autism and ADHD.
- 0:57Now there are two types of kind of like OCD within autism.
- 1:01OK, you can have OCD as a separate diagnosis and you can
- 1:04have autism which comes with more of a a compulsion to do
- 1:07stuff. Now I want to talk about these
- 1:10two separately, but first of all, I just want to do a small
- 1:12disclaimer. OCD can be very damaging to
- 1:15someone's mental health. I mean it.
- 1:16For me, it it was very some of the DACA times my life is
- 1:18because of OCD and it really does spiral and becomes the
- 1:22thing that grows on you. And I don't like it.
- 1:24And so if you're having issues with OCD, therapy is really,
- 1:27really good for it. And if you want to use a therapy
- 1:29that's easy and helpful to use, I use Better help on my iPhone,
- 1:33which is basically just an app that you download.
- 1:35The link is down below in the description of this video,
- 1:37Better Help. And they can talk to you on your
- 1:39phone via text or video or voice and they hook you up within 24
- 1:43to 48 hours with a therapist and you can pay through the app.
- 1:45It's amazing. It's absolutely amazing.
- 1:46So definitely check it out if you're struggling with mental
- 1:48health. OCD is on it's own something
- 1:51that is happening because you're compulsed to do it.
- 1:54Like you have a negative impact if you don't do it.
- 1:56So say say The thing is you have to turn all lights off in the
- 2:00house two times, like on and off 2 times before you leave the
- 2:02house. That is an OCD compulsion and
- 2:05the reason for doing that. You do not enjoy doing those
- 2:07things. You feel like you have to do
- 2:09those things otherwise something terrible will happen to you or
- 2:12your life or somebody in your life.
- 2:13That's OCD in in general. But OCD within an autism
- 2:16spectrum disorder, where they have a compulsion to do stuff
- 2:19where they like doing the same thing over and over again, like
- 2:21turning the lights on and off. They will actually have pleasure
- 2:24from doing those things because it's a routine.
- 2:26They like to follow through with those routines.
- 2:27And I did a video all about routines and why routines are
- 2:29important. Now when you're following a
- 2:31routine because you find comfort from it, that's OCD for an
- 2:34autism, which is just more of a compulsion to do those things
- 2:37because you enjoy it. Whereas if you were doing
- 2:39something that you didn't enjoy but you had to do it, that's
- 2:41true. OCD.
- 2:43A lot of people think OCD is just like cleaning, you know,
- 2:45terribly cleaning and being being a germaphobe, which
- 2:48sometimes it can be, But it's also more than that.
- 2:51It's a, it's a, it's a routine, it's a repetitive action that
- 2:54you have to take every single day.
- 2:55You have to always do these things in order to actually
- 2:57achieve some some sort of kind of stability in life so that
- 3:01nothing dangerous happens to anybody.
- 3:03And that's what that's what's going on in your mind.
- 3:04That's what's going on in your life all the time.
- 3:06Now there is a connection between those two and because
- 3:08autism comes with mental health issues and OCD sometimes and a
- 3:11lot of time is Co occurring or coexisting and Co diagnosed with
- 3:15autism. Now if you have anything to add,
- 3:17pop in the comment down below. I read every single one and I'll
- 3:19see you guys in the next video. Peace.
