- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: All right, hey, what's up, everybody?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to another episode of the dog's podcast, Josh, all here doing this week's dog pack discord live show.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit earlier than three o'clock, normally schedule time, like I was telling everybody in here before we got started.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm on Daddy duty today, baby sitting in a nine month old and he went down for an app and I said, you know what?
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: If I don't take advantage of this period right now to do the show, I don't know if I'm going to get another one because he might not sleep again until we go to bed.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: tonight and you guys all know if you got little kids or babies that's just kind of how it rolls you are the mercy of their schedule so we're gonna let the audience fill up here by the way if you're watching this on YouTube or wherever especially you guys here in discord you got my side camera today for some reason it's not picking up my iPhone camera I have no idea why so you get to see all my messy crap in the background here
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to be in this office much longer thankfully we're building new house so I'll be moving and I'll get a nice new new room and it won't be slash storage space either.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to dive into the upcoming matchup this weekend with the Browns and the dolphins before I do make sure you guys if you want to be part of these dog pack discord live shows in the future had to join the dogs dot com become official dog pack member on the patreon page.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's just $5 a month to sign up over there and you get access to the private discord where everybody is the entire dog pack all of these awesome die hard browns fans that we are in here all week long 24 seven talking about the browns and basically whatever else it's a
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: 24, 7 therapy sessions is what has kind of turned into.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, due to the state of the team, but it's an awesome place to be, and you can take part in these dog-back discord episodes each week.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I would like to continue doing these, not just during the season.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we use this opportunity for the preview show to do the discord live.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: But I'd like to do at least one of these a week.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: If I can, which I, I should be able to moving forward through the off season.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that way we can get you guys up here to talk about the draft and the prospects and free agency and all that stuff all off season long.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: So head to join the dogs dot com.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so there's really, I don't think we'll have too many news and notes and things to discuss.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: The first thing I wanted to do, and I ran a check with you guys beforehand, I want to play a voice mail got a voice mail today from Chief Hill, so I just wanted to talk about what he had to say here.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: And this is chief from Dover, but I'm just kind of about to glorify goat rope we got going on up in Cleveland.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I've been a fan for the brass for like 62 years, but why even more?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's not even fun.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: You know, sports is supposed to be fun.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: This is a fun.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we got these Ivy League Brown office, supposed to be smartest guys in a row.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: They're the dumbest guys here.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: We get the worst team of football.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, again, you know, you got AD.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: who had six drafts.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's drafted one pro baller and that guy's not playing this year.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: The roster gets worse every year.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: We got suspense.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a 41-48 record.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: About a year of 500, you know, and the roster gets worse.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, when you get a pre-snap penalties and four-time management, clock management, this guy can get coaches like Sim Milk, Toast librarian.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then Deepa Desta, I mean, he sets the sex with baseball, but
- 3:39[SPEAKER_02]: But bulls not.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where he's not.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think he still got his job as maybe he's got compromising picks of G&D and Jimmy has them, you know, or even worse, Jimmy has him as drummer in a box of rocks, because this Tennessee hillbilly under his ownership, there's only been two winning season.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: This is horrible.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, what Jimmy has in need to do is fire everybody, go buy a pickup truck, fill the back up with bags and bags of cash, and drive over a John Grootie's house and get him.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Thank God we got the buck guys.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: all right chief appreciate the voice mail i think uh you know you just speak for a lot of browns fans and i'm sure well if you guys agree or disagree with anything chief says start putting in the chat or get your hands up if you want to come up here and talk about anything that he said um you know i did an episode a couple days ago and two's day talking about you know the quality pedestrian this Ivy League brain trust in the browns organization right now
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not the only one talking about it.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: We're not the only people bringing this topic up here on the show.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of going all over social media right now this week about Paul D. Podesta is resurfaced.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people saying, what does he even do?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's, you know, people still trying to defend this regime and everything saying, well, you know,
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: what's what's so wrong with having an Ivy League education like it's you know Harvard is a hard school to get into like you gotta be very smart to graduate from these places and all this stuff and my pushback a lot of times on that is I'm not saying that an Ivy League education is bad I'm saying that the people running our organization aren't doing a good job so the Ivy League education
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: and our situation.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: So you guys let me know what you think if okay we got truth once to come on up here.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: Brad, let's okay there we go.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on man?
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: How you doing?
- 5:33[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, just doing wonderful.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do this along.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's good stuff.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_03]: And I saw such a fun, so, so you know me, I pretty much sense I've been a part of, you know, the dog's podcast, I've called out all-teap Bethesda.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_03]: That's very beginning.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think I shared it in there.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think it probably disappeared after the David Bell announcement, but basically,
- 6:08[SPEAKER_03]: The team we have now, statistically, is the same team that Paul T. Budesta got when he got here.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: And I said something, I think me and Blake were going a little back and forth on it.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_03]: But when John Dorsey was here, he had to work with trash.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_03]: And he brought in like people like Baker, Nick Chobb, Denzel Ward, Miles Garrett was a Sasha Brown hire.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_03]: or was it?
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: Joshua Brown rape of course, he was 2017.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: So that would have been deeper desto was hired in 16.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: OK.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I don't know if I think it was Sasha, because it was not.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's actually drafted mine.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_03]: OK.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, regardless.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_03]: And John Dorsey brought in Jack Conflin and Austin Hooper and, uh,
- 7:10[SPEAKER_03]: garbage, all these people, and we got to somewhere the the mistake John Dorsey was he was battling with Jim, Jimmy Haslam and the whole Kettie Freddy Kitchen's higher, obviously, that's a bad one.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_03]: But to me is like, you know, he's all about the statistics and analytics and
- 7:37[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't seen 9S maybe a Mario Cooper grade that we've had a really analytic side to the offense since basically letting go of Baker to get the Sean Watson.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't seen really a whole lot of want to get the offense aligned younger, get more
- 8:02[SPEAKER_03]: you know, drone four was supposed to be the next coming, but we all kind of saw the right in the wall with that one.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and now we're having to grab for two running bags to the next chub left.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: And now we're going to be on this.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_03]: I would say two to three year rebuild of we need this offensive piece.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: This offensive piece.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: We need a whole line.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: We need this.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_03]: We need that.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_03]: And it's just going to be, you know, I forgot what
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: not to draft for need draft for depth.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we need everything.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know where the depth comes in there when you need everything.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, I know everybody's hopeful that like maybe Dylan or Shador might start to look good.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_03]: that way.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have to do reach for a quarterback again, but I don't know, man.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't, I haven't seen Paul really doing anything for this team.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and I don't know if Paul's holding in your berryback or being a berries all in Paul, but I don't know what that we never see it because Paul's never ranks is in San Diego all the time.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: So my theory on the whole thing, and I kind of talked about this on Tuesday on that episode if you watched that, but
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: real good.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of the recap of that.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: My theory is Paul D. Pedesta is trying to implement or devise a money ball strategy like he did for baseball with the Oakland athletics and he's trying to figure out how to do that in football with the Browns.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: And essentially Jimmy has him's letting him let him use the Browns.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: It says experimental, you know, guinea pig lab rat here
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: and the struggle for Deepadessa has most likely been getting a GM and head coach in here who will buy into that strategy and follow along.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: And since AB and Kevin have been here so long and there was a quote, I forget what it was about how Kevin's defense he fits, what Paul deepadessa wants to do and he fits into this whole thing.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think these guys are all trying to make this work.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're trying to use you to see the way that they're handling the cap.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I can go back, if you guys didn't watch that one, I'll just talk for a quick little bit about these moneyball core principles.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Those were the main things I want to talk about in that episode.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Number one was data over instant replacing traditional scouting methods and gut feelings.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about that all the time.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, why not?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: Why are we not scouting well?
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Why are we not just picking guys or going after guys that we watch the tape and say this guy can play football?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: Well, data over instant replacing traditional scouting methods and gut feelings with advanced statistical analysis and quantitative data.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's what they're trying to do.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: Identifying undervalued assets, focusing on metrics that are not widely considered, but have a significant correlation with desired outcomes.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then strategic decision making, using data to pinpoint areas of strength and weakness allowing for more efficient allocation of resources and building a stronger team.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: To me, that speaks to why they were all on board and okay with allocating so many heavy resources to dision Watson because we can identify undervalued assets.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: in other areas, we can build a roster capable of achieving the same thing with lesser pieces, lesser priced pieces, because we were able to pay all this money and allocate so much capital to Sean Watson, the difference is to me, this stuff doesn't work in football.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't work in football, the way it works in baseball, I should analytics is obviously important.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like we're saying don't use analytics.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: analytics are important, but they should not be the main driver of every decision.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: You need to use them to help age your decision making, to help maybe be a tiebreaker between a couple players that you're deciding between, but it should not be the driving force behind everything that you do.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I just, I think they're just too deep into it, too deep into the analytics and all this stuff.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Anything else about Chiefs, Voice Mail or anything like that?
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Anything you guys want to talk about before we dive into the...
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: The preview here Brad didn't mention about David Bell.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that was the piece of news.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: This, you know, last couple of days that we didn't cover on the show, David Bell, the wide receiver for the Browns did announce his retirement.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of people online, we're like, who wait?
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Who's David Bell or I forgot he was even on the team?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a lot of those responses.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he didn't really play a whole lot for the Browns.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: Never really made much of an impact on the field.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: He was the 99th overall pick and the third round back in 2022.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: out of Purdue had a great college career.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: We were excited when we got this guy.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: I thought, okay, he's not the biggest fastest, strongest guy, but he's a great receiver.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: He dominated in the Big 10, a major conference, all that stuff.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Just never really developed anything on the Brown.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: So is that a, you know, is that an Andrew Barry miss as far as talent evaluation is that a coaching staff blunder where we can't develop any of these guys?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, never worked out.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: He had a dislocated hip in week two last year, missed all of the 20, 24 season after that.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: Started this year on NFI, the non football injury list.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then he released a statement saying that, you know, he was blindsided by an off-field injury.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if it was something.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: through his recovery or something else that developed after it or what the case was, but his words were quote, uh, he would literally be risking life and limb if he continued to play football.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: So obviously David Bell's health is the most important thing.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: We want him to be healthy.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: You got the rest of your life to live, dude.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, playing football for the Cleveland Brown should not take priority over your long-term health when you're 24 years old.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: And it's hard to believe but he's on the last year of his rookie deal and he's only 24 years old Kenny Max says that he was going to be a Jarvis Landry type player.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was going to be a reliable option.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, for this wide receiving core.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't, you know, we never really thought he was going to be like a wide receiver one type guy, but you know, a guy that you could put out there and rely on to get you two, three, you know, catches a game and move the sticks and maybe pop off for, you know, a seven eight catch game here and there and be that kind of guy.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: He just never was, never was, unfortunately.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Butcher Box for Pets.

- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: He is not, but it gives us peace of mind knowing that we're given him quality food instead of just that factory process garbage from the store.

- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys are ready, we'll move into the Dolphin tier so.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the one in five dolphins coming into Cleveland to face our beloved one in five browns.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: And the browns are actually two and a half point favorites in this one.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's yet another sub 40 point total with an over under at 39.5 and Miami is plus one, 25 to win the game.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's also another alpha dog game.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: So the browns are going to be dude white from head to toe in their brown.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: And the last alpha dog game, if you guys remember was the last time we played it home,
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: And it was the last, the only game we want against the Packers.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: So that's pretty, I don't know.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: I guess that's a good feather in the cap for maybe we can win.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: On Sunday, the weather at least right now.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: I know I saw you guys posting this in the Discord too today.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: Looks like it's going to be kind of nasty.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: 100% chance of rain on Sunday.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: So Justin, if you're, you know, when you get up there, make sure you just,
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, buddy.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: Try to do everything you can to stay dry.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: 20 to 30 mile per hour wins with 36 mile per hour, when Gus maybe Gus could reach up to 50 or 60 miles per hour.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: So it's going to be a sloppy, sloppy game from the weather.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: So what would the natural game plan be?
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: in this kind of situation, right, run, run, run, Quinshawn Juddkins, which means that we'll probably, you know, get 40 to 50 pass attempts from Dylan in the rain.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: So some notes about this game, I posted these yesterday in 2024.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: So last season, the Browns only held one opponent to under 20 points at home.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was the Steelers and they scored 19 points in that snowball on the Thursday night game.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: In two home games, this season so far, neither opponent has scored over 20 points.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: The Bengals hit 17, the Packers only scored 10.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: So the Dolphins came into Cleveland late last season in a bad weather game, and they won that game, 20 to three with Snoop Huntly at quarterback for Miami and DTR at quarterback for the Browns.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so far, this season, Miami is one in five, like I said, but they have scored over 20 points in five of their six games.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: and they score 27 in three of them.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: Miami on defense has also surrendered over 20 points to every opponent so far this season.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the Browns have not scored 20 points and they're last 11 games, and they have only reached that mark.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: 20 points are more in three of their last 25 games.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll either team reach 20 points in this game.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not expecting it.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm expecting this final score to look similar to Green Bay, which was that 13 to 10 game that actually went in our favor.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how it goes.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: I got some stats to go through and all that kind of stuff.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like usual Kenny says the Browns needed to stop Warren, Metcalf and Fryer move and didn't.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Looks much of the same stop HN, Waddle and Waller.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great point.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing with Devon H and the running back for the dolphins that concerns me, is this defense struggles or has shown weakness against these smaller, shift to your fast running backs?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly what Devon H and is.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's similar to like what you saw with Jamir Gibbs when we played the Lions.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: We just could not handle
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: those small shifty speedy type of players, let's see, interjects and says, that's still too high on the points.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what was it?
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: 39 and a half.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: I know, man, I think it's going to be like a 10 to 6 or you know, a 13 to 9 type thing where we're not even going to sniff that anywhere close to that 40 point total.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Judkin's Stampson and Rocket all day.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know where Heam Sanders will be active.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure he won't be.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be Judkin's Stampson and Drum Ford, like normal and you'll see where Heam Sanders just on the, the inactive list for the game.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: Jackson says Devon Hn have 260 yards on us.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm assuming well he says he I'm assuming you mean Hn but the same kind of thing with like waddle waddles a smaller faster kind of shifty receiver and then Darren Waller I know we we're gonna struggle I think with Darren Waller and this passing game for the the dolphins even in the rain the thing with the dolphins
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: and they they've transitioned to this during the season last year after two after two a suffered his concussion.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_01]: They don't throw the ball down field very often.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: They don't run plays in the passing game that take a while to develop.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: It is all get the ball out of two his hands as quickly as possible.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the, I mean, that's the game plan for the Browns defense.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to bring pressure.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to get after the quarterback real quick.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: So you get the ball out as fast as you can.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: And that's, it's like, they don't have to shift their game plan.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: to counter what the Browns do well on defense.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's just what they do on offense.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: They they're trying to make sure that to it does not take any hits or anything like that.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: And it is just quick passes quick passes.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: So Darren Waller definitely going to be heavily involved in those short passes.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: HN is going to be a recipient of a lot of short passes.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, on offense, can he says they need battling rams for this game, activate the rocket.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: I, I would love to see where he can stand.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: There's active and on the field more, but they're not going to play him over drone for they, they like drone for it.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: Stacey says we could really use that dome stadium right about now.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, there's, I just seen the, the comments already.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: People are like, this is football weather for this game and all that kind of stuff.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we've talked about how the football weather does not play any sort of home field advantage for the Browns.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, we would have won a ton more games over the last 30 years than what we have.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: It is not a home field advantage.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: If anything, you got your down south Miami team going to come up here and they did it last year.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: They came up here and beat us in a bad weather game.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: So Stacey says, I'll be there with no umbrella because it's
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: It is going to be a wet one for sure.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: So real quick.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we don't have the injury reports for today because I'm doing this earlier on Thursday.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: The normal, but DNPs on Wednesday yesterday, Jack Hongland did not practice with his concussion.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: David and Joker with the knee engaged Larva Dan with his own concussion.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I don't know how every past catcher on this team is not dealing with a concussion this week.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: After all the hospital balls that dilling through during that game against the Steelers, but
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: those guys did not practice and I think Kevin said they're kind of officially unofficially questionable for Sunday.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: So that's Conqulin and Joku and Larvedan, Larvedan, whatever he's practiced while I call up, I'm not going to call him a major missing piece to this offense, since we don't really have any major pieces to begin with.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: David and Joe could would be a big deal if he doesn't play.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: That would be a big deal and Jack Conklin too because if Conklin's not out there, that means you're rolling out KT Leveston and Kim Robinson and Kim Robinson is dealing with his own knee injury that had him limited a practice yesterday.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Haven't heard if he's trending either way or not, but if for some reason, Kim Robinson can't play or he does and goes down in the game,
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: Cornelius Lucas I guess who's been in healthy scratch ever sent he sucked so bad against Who was it the Vikings?
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember which team is either Viking to the Lions, but Oh rough on the offensive line Stephanski was asked about my call junior If you guys saw this same exact answer that he has given pretty much every week so far this year.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: He said he's getting closer
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: which to me means don't expect my call to play yet again this week.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew Jackson says our whole team is very questionable.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll give you that.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe zinter will be a scratch.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: Zach zinter has been a, I keep saying this every episode.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: I healthy scratch.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: How bad do you have to be?
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: that you can't even be active as an offensive lineman on this offensive line.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's just it blows my mind, blows my mind.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: Colton wants to come on up.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: Colton, how you know, man?
- 24:54[SPEAKER_05]: They good.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_05]: Can you hear me, okay?
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got you, buddy.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_05]: perfect.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_05]: I'll drive and actually include one at the leader, not it's sunny, but it will not be after Sunday.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, not okay.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_05]: Because my goodness, that cloud is living darker and darker week by week.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_05]: Um, no, I just wanted to kind of get your thoughts on, um,
- 25:16[SPEAKER_05]: I don't have a long list, you think Dylan Gabriel is going to happen because I know you need to get seeners in there at some point to it.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_05]: I wait for him because there's only a handful of games obviously that are going to be left for me to have a casual one.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_05]: I think we do have the chance to go out with all games if we just the little things right at the next computing.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_05]: But
- 25:39[SPEAKER_05]: more and more, start looking at draft works just being your typical Cleveland fan in the third week of October.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_05]: And you start to see some of these names, words, whether it be bent, those or sellers, but the Simpson kid from Alabama, you start to read in and he's saying, okay, well, if sailors is not able to build it, you've got to almost assume that you'd have to take a quarterback.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_05]: So I just want to see like how long you think that least is going to be for him before they decide to turn it over to Sanerson and evaluate him from there on out Oh, that is that is such a good question.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: It really is and I've I've been thinking about that and First let me just say and if you guys if you guys are able to comment in the chat go for it here
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't trust this Brown's regime with quarterback evaluations.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: Until they actually show me that they can get the right guy on the field and it actually looks good, I just, I don't have much faith that they're going to get it right.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the leash, the leash for Dylan Gabriel would almost depend on who you ask.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like comments from Jimmy Haslam, the owner of the team.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: have alluded to more of like, yeah, we know we need to we need to get should door on the field and see what he's capable of to.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you look at anything Kevin Stephansky said or done with his allocation of practice reps all the way back to May.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he really wants to door on the field.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think he wants Dylan Gabriel.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: So if you go from the coaching perspective, I think the leash is a lot longer than we will probably want it to be.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think they're going to release Kevin's going to try to give Dylan every opportunity to fail.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: And we've talked about that from beginning like Dylan's going to get every opportunity to fail before they just pull him and put Chador in unless there's more of a push from ownership or the front office to get Dylan out and get Chador in.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough for me to see this offense doing anything different than what it's done.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll talk, I got all these stats to talk about between the two teams and all this kind of stuff.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: But the overall Miami's defense is not good, not good.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think it matters.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the Browns won against a not good defense in week one and two.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: We had the Bengals and then the Ravens.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Both those defenses are terrible this year.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: didn't matter.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: We couldn't score.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: We couldn't do anything.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: It, it was the same thing.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't matter if it was them or we're going against the Vikings or the lines.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't matter.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was the same offense.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: No scoring.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's frustrating.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: So it's hard for me to envision Dylan all of a sudden leading this offense on, you know, these awesome scoring drives are these big downfield plays and and all this kind of stuff.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: What do you- yeah, what do you- what do you think so?
- 28:42[SPEAKER_05]: So I don't want to start using a fire and our group chat here, but I did read something this week.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_05]: And it's going back to what you're talking about with this regime that I'm evaluating, I'm putting in.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_05]: I keep hearing that the system is so quarterback-friendly.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I think we've had enough of the sample size now to say it may not be quarterback-friendly.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_05]: Just looking, okay.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_05]: We'll look at the front runner for the end.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_05]: He played arguably some of his worst football of his career.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_05]: Granite, he was young, but he played some of his worst football of his career while wearing a clue in Browett's uniform.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_05]: So, the trigger take and everybody just, whole height, I'm not saying I agree with this, but they were saying this Kevin's defense key to blame for the Sean Watson's failure in Cleveland, based upon all the other orderbacks that have not played
- 29:41[SPEAKER_05]: I know we caught lightning in a bottle with Joe Flacco a couple of years ago, so I don't want Blake to joke now.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_05]: I drove for that.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_05]: But outside of that, you really don't have any fingers to point to and say, hey, this guy was playing at an average to baby a proble level, and I hope proble would really know weight anymore because everybody decides to opt out, so I mean, you could get an invitation to be the second string or any more, and it really doesn't help with any spirit.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, that I thought that was something that was, it was a big trigger take and thought that some of the people in the chat would have something interesting to say about that.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I've seen that.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: I've actually seen people pose that question.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: I've kind of stayed away from that topic myself, just because Interject says Blake Stefansky does not have, does love him some kith.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah, I've kind of stayed away from the whole do found thing because he looked so bad last year.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like just so bad, I mean, he would sail passes just 10 yards over guys heads out of balance or throw it completely in front of them or run a play and look like he has no idea what the play was even supposed to be or where guys are supposed to be.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: There'd be an open guy and he wouldn't see him or he'd go the wrong way and he's like,
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: But then we saw DTR do the same stuff.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: Saw James do some of the same stuff.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: We're seeing Dylan do the same stuff.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Flacco looked the same.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, well, hang on a second.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: If all these guys are doing the same type of things, making the same errors and mistakes in the offense, it's valid.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's valid to question is Deshawn Watson, actually as bad as he looked or was it in part due to the offensive system.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: And how bad all the quarterbacks have looked.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to rule it out, actually.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to sit here and say, no, it's 100% on to Sean.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we might even get a chance to see.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: Justin's been saying it for months now that at some point this year to Sean Watson's going to play football for the Browns.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's just and's convinced that it's happening.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it'll happen.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: I can't roll it out can't roll it out.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: You guys in the chat.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Let us know what you think.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: Do you I mean, what do you guys think it is to Sean Watson completely washed was was he as bad as he looked or was it a lot to do with, you know, maybe maybe Kevin will get truth up here too to see what what he says Stacy says, please.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: God.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, Brad, what do you think, buddy?
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: We just, it's gwe trade to show them lots in yet.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_03]: No, come on.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big deal.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: We can't throw, just take it.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess we could take the cap.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: It is not like we can get any worse.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: Personnel wants.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: And why not?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_03]: Um, uh, so.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_03]: Who's been, because, I mean, I've been harping on our wide receiver coach pretty hard for the last, I don't know, 30 years.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and but who's been the quarterback though, like, have we changed the quarterback coach the last few years?
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, like I don't even know what Bill Musgrave was was promoted to quarterback coach or whatever.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think he was Titan, though, Trish on them.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember, right?
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the, a lot of the positional coaches, I don't keep as close a tabs on what, what was Alex VanPell was he in somewhat involved with some way involved with the quarterbacks.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: Colton says used to be VanPell.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Colton.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_03]: So, and like Van Pel was there for the whole Joe Burrow situation, right?
- 33:37[SPEAKER_03]: Joe Flacco.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, a vanpelt was there when we went up because we hired him because he was good as a quarterback coach for the Bengals.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, see, I don't even remember, okay, I don't remember a vanpelt tester.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: I just, what I do know is the team has not looked the same since vanpelt and
- 34:10[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but if that's the case, you know, it's hard, you know, I understand where Colton's coming from saying like, you know, Joe Flacco was the only one catch lightning.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I could make a case that Jacoba Perset looks pretty decent when Sean Watson was suspended.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_03]: Now, did Jacoba Perset have the same problem that James had, that DTR had, that Joe Flacco has, that Dylan Gabriel tries to have of throwing into coverage in interceptions?
- 34:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, everybody forgot to color set was good, but he also threw interceptions at very inopportune times.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_03]: So into his thing, it's like, okay, maybe possibly Kevin is not as great of a coach for quarterback as we might have thought.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_03]: Now, for your point to shine watching is just straight trash.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: And like I was a little bit lary about when we were trading for him that he was already away from football for a year and I said watch when we bring him in the first year, he's going to be really rusty and he was a little rusty and then that's all the excuse me kept getting every year is oh, he's still rusty.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_03]: Well, how much a rusty you need to finally be good.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_03]: And then we were over that excuse after a while.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: Dylan is decent, um, but I'm starting to see and a lot of people try to put that season out of their mind, but I'm starting to see a lot of the song Kaiser and Dylan Gabriel.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_03]: where he's thrown into a position, where he that he needs to perform, and he lacks talent around him.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_03]: So he tries to make some plays, and he just shorts the ball, because even in the 27th season, we didn't throw the ball down and field too much.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_03]: Cory Coleman, Red Breston Peace.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I don't know, man,
- 36:38[SPEAKER_03]: It's hard to say, what the real problem is, but I've just seen this offense continually, every minus the 23 year, just continually, just be very mediocre at offense.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and, you know, no.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: Blake will point to Jacobi per se too, at times.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, Jacobi played well for us, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't,
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: one fantastic or anything.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't like, oh my gosh, I can't believe what Kevin did with Jacobia.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just go back and pull up the game logs.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Overall, he threw 12 touchdowns in 11 games.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: Six interceptions.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, whatever about a touchdown a game.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's more than we're doing now.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: 147 yards, 229, 222, 342, 30.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: Then he had like a 266 game.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: He had a 250 to 270, but then like 212, 210.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, completions were like 53% 1 game, 46% 1 game.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: It was good enough for what I mean, he was he brought here to be the backup and then the backup had to be the starter for the first 11 games.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, for that situation.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he played well.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: But it what it's not like I'm not putting that on my resume as a cubic guru, you know what I mean for for Kevin's defense key.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's let's get back to looking at the dolphins here for this game on Sunday.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: So Miami just looking at the record for this year, they got killed in week one by the Colts 33 to 8 every week since then.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: This Miami Dolphins team has been close in every game for the most part pretty close.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: They lost a new England 33 to 27 lost above low 31 to 21.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: That was their biggest.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: margin there one against the jets 27 to 21 lost to Carolina 27 24 and lost to the chargers 29 27 so like I said a lot of they they've scored over 20 in every game except for that first game so going to the Browns we have not turned the ball over in the last two games
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: And that's great, Dylan's taking care of the ball, except he's not really.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: They easily should have or could have had two to five interceptions last week.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he threw some ball and the thing is, the Steelers were, I forget where they were ranked, but they had 10 takeaways on the season to that point.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: They should have easily had a couple more, at least two more.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: But they just dropped all the interceptions.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: We are still tied for the fourth most turnovers in the league with eight.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: We're actually tied with the dolphins who also have eight to a just through three picks last week against the chargers.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: So, Tonguevile is a quarterback that you can get interceptions against.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: will we, weren't our defensive, that's not what they do.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: They do not force, take ways very consistently.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't, I don't know, especially in this game.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think there is going to be, Stacey says I'm so sick, sick of this, dink and dunk offense.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to see a lot of dink and dunk from both teams.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: on Sunday in this weather Miami's offense in terms of yards for game just as bad as the Browns 289 for them we average 282 passing yards for game rushing yards for game pretty much exactly the same between the two offenses
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: The difference is Miami averages 22.3 points per game and we average the league worst 13.7 points per game.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: Again, they've scored over 20 and all the one game, 27 and three other games.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: So we have established that both of these offences are not very good.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: The defenses are where things are different.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns are still ranked.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: Number three overall defense in Yards per game allowed at just 262 Miami is also the number three defense, but their number three from the bottom.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: Third worst defense in the league allowing 309 yards per game almost 400 yards per game allowed by this Miami Dolphins defense.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: the weather, this football weather, this home field advantage with the weather, I think it's going to actually screw the browns because the dolphins, again, giving up almost 400 yards of offense and we're not, first of all, we can't pass in a dome.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to be able to pass in the rain and slosh.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: So it's going to be, we're going to have that part of our game taken away, which we kind of do it to ourselves anyhow.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: But if you break it down, they give up 220 a game through the air and 168 rushing.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: The passing, the 220 passing, that's about middle the road in the NFL, but the rushing defense, that 168 per game, that's the worst defense in the league.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: The Miami Dolphins against the run.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: First Sunday, run, run, run, Quint Shawn Judkins, which means we'll probably get 40 to 50 pass attention to him against the worst rush defense in the rain.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: Miami averages 29 points per game allowed.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns are at 24.3.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: So what is the moral of my story here?
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns have no excuse to lose this game at home.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: None.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: Every advantage between these two teams points toward Cleveland being successful, we're at home.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: We have the top three defense in the league, especially at home, we're much better at home.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: The rain is going to limit the passing attack for Miami.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it doesn't impact us.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: We suck in a dome.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: We suck on a nice day, so it doesn't matter.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: the major weakness for them is stopping the run and that's where we can actually move the ball are only thread on offense is quench on jutkins and the run game.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: So run the freaking ball Kevin.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: I put in here important a note last year in the same game against Miami at home in bad weather.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns called 48 pass plays with DTR.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: 48.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: So just keep that in mind.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: I know Ken Dorsey was calling the plays last year, but again, it's still Kevin's team and he's still the one overseeing the offense.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody's saying about the 52 pass attempts last week against the dealers.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: It was actually 58 because Dylan was

- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I got you.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: How are you doing?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_06]: Good.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_06]: I just wanted to say that the thing that upset me is you're running off like these numbers in these stats.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_06]: And we all know Kevin has these exact same stats.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_06]: He has access to all of that information.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_06]: But yet, come Sunday, I still feel like we're not going
- 45:49[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I just don't understand, and I think that's the thing that upset me most about Kevin and why I would be fine getting rid of him because he has all the information that we have, and yet somehow he acts like he does the opposite.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_06]: He tries to trick the other team or something, and it's like, just do look at the numbers, look at the stats, and just do that plan.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_06]: And if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work, but at least like,
- 46:14[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know, like, you know, it just drives me crazy and blows my mind that he has the same stats and yet we'll sit there and throw the ball probably 50 plus times as well.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: Well, for a team that is so analytically driven, they have the same stats we do and a ton more, and they still do the wrong thing all the time.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, that's why I don't mind analytics, but when you use them and you still can't use them correctly, then what are you doing?
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't make any freaking sense, and you have a, if it's a great point, you make and think about Mike Tomlin and the Steelers last week.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: They had a game plan.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: On offense, they knew that the Browns can bring pressure at the quarterbacks.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: So what did they do?
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: Short quick passes.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: Aaron Rodgers did not hold the Blyphic over just time to throw was, but it was like the lowest on the week, the lowest they had all season.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was get the ball, find your guy, get rid of it, don't even give the Browns a chance to get to you.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: And then on defense, what was their game plan?
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: They knew what our weakness was on offense.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: We got a rookie quarterback starting his second game ever and a terrible offensive line shut down the run.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: Just absolutely sell out the shut down the run.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: This kid is not going to be able to beat us through the air.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly what they did.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's sometimes it doesn't have to be rocket science.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: You can just look at another team and say, I see where you suck.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I see where I'm good.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just going to beat you there.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: we don't do that.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_06]: He just always wants to trick people.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_06]: Like he always wants to the trick plays.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_06]: He always wants to do what people don't think they will do.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_06]: And I mean the record shows it doesn't work, Evan.
- 47:44[UNKNOWN]: No.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew Jackson, the chassis is two offensive head coaches with terrible offenses.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_01]: watch this game watch this be the game the offense looks amazing in this terrible weather Kevin has one good game a year We win that we shouldn't.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: We've already won the game that we shouldn't win this year and that was the packers That was definitely that game All right So let's see I still got Colton Stacy you guys are both still up here on stage truth wants to come back up Is there anything else you guys want to talk about before I bring Brad back up here
- 48:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, real quick, um, sorry to say I made a truffler, um, why don't we just say I'm good.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I used to think Kevin and it's just my personal opinion had the best opening script out of any of the coaches that I've ever seen in terms of offensive play calling.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_04]: But once you get away from that opening script on Kevin, he has a very, very predictable offense.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know if you guys ever listen to the Warranger Browns talk, but I think Ransler, Lance, rising.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_04]: I have it if that's how you pronounce the last name.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_04]: There's a really good job with some film breakdown stuff and showing tendencies.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_04]: And he's just saying our blocking scene first.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_04]: Though,
- 49:01[SPEAKER_04]: predictable this year.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_04]: He's not getting into any of the counters or any kind of like outside zone things that you've to.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_04]: In defenses are just able to key in on that kind of stuff by lid, not the liner.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_04]: But what ever it might be, but that creativity is really taking a step back this year.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_04]: But also in part, due to our execution.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_04]: Well, when you have 12 different
- 49:30[SPEAKER_04]: you can't really get any continuity going on that side of the ball either.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_04]: So that's just something that I keep saying weekend a week out that we can't execute that kind of stuff, but then we go over to London.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_04]: They're listening to the offensive lying men.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_04]: You watch San Francisco on Thursday night football.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_04]: missing arguably half their offense and they're still able to execute.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_04]: So I think the discipline overall as a team is just lacking right now and if it continues you're going to really lose the locker room and they keep saying hey we have all these home games in December and there's a really really good chance that there's going to be empty stadiums when those games are going on or you're going to see terrible towels everywhere in week 17 when Pittsburgh comes to tell.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean the schedule moving forward is a lot of teams that honestly
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: We should beat playing our brand of defense and everything.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: If we can just score some points, like we should beat some of these teams coming up, I don't know how it's gonna go.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: The thing with Kevin and I've talked to people about this, it's like, it's like when you see a rookie quarterback coming in the league and they do great.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like they have this great rookie season and everything and they kind of take the league by surprise.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that was kind of Kevin's rookie head coach season.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: it was new is this first time he took the lead by surprise he had kind of some creativity things that people maybe hadn't really seen all this stuff before whatever well is the same thing with the rookie quarterback like now that the other teams have tape on you and they can learn your tendencies and figure out oh well if they're going to line up like this or you know if he's whatever they can figure out what you're going to do based on what they see on the tape and if you don't adjust and if you don't
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: evolve your game and adapt and bring in new things and try new things and learn new things whatever and keep people on their toes.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_01]: You get figured out real quick and then you're done.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why you see some of these quarterbacks that come in and they might have a good rookie season and then it just kind of goes downhill and they never really develop or take that next step.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: They're just not able to adapt or maybe their coaching staff is not able to help them develop and adapt and change their game is same thing with Kevin.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't adapt his game.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's the same thing for the last six years.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why it started out, okay.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: But then you see it being less and less and less successful.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: Each year, because defense is know what we're doing.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: They've figured it out and he doesn't adjust.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't change anything.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing new.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's no wrinkles.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's no deception.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I keep saying I don't sense like any dog in Kevin and the way he runs a team.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's no fight.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: There's no nasty there.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: numbers and analytics and got to be better.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know, all right.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get Brad up here and a Stacy quote and I appreciate you coming in here and and chatting it up.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get Brad Stacy talk for a few minutes here and then we'll wrap this thing up.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_03]: Do a colon's point about, or did you say about design plays in the beginning of the game scripted?
- 52:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's the work.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_03]: Ah, there is a statistic when we were facing Detroit, that Detroit lets the most touch downs in the first five or six minutes of the game, just scripted plays.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_03]: Well, what do we do?
- 52:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm straight down the field and it's good to touch down, right?
- 52:52[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_03]: And then after that, we got away from scripted plays and, you know, Detroit's good.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: They're good team.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but then that the rest of the games and we just kind of fell apart, of course.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so I see his point now for the Miami game.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be a shitstorm bowl or whatever they want to call it, who's getting fired first bowl, whatever.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_03]: Now, and I've asked this question a couple of times and, you know, some people agree, some people don't agree, some people say, well, you know, we got to believe what Jimmy Hazelman told us about this regime right now, but my question is, obviously we've seen in the media
- 53:42[SPEAKER_03]: We've seen everything, how dysfunctional the dolphins are right now with T meetings, but you're not showing up to meetings, all that stuff.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_03]: So they're dysfunctional.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_03]: My question is, is a team like that that comes in here.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_03]: and beats us, what does that say about our organization, where Blake and a few other people says, well, penalties are down and the team looks disciplined and all that stuff.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_03]: What does that say about us when we can't beat a team that's so dysfunctional as them?
- 54:18[SPEAKER_03]: That's all I have to say.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: That would, I don't, that's like we don't even need to answer it.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_01]: That speaks volumes about us.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: And to go to the penalties thing, I was actually looking it up.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_01]: Pre-snap penalties on a per game basis are down a little bit from last year.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_01]: But overall penalties on a per game basis are actually slightly higher this year than they were last year.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_01]: So something to keep an eye on too as we move forward.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: Stacey, what do you got for us here?
- 54:49[SPEAKER_06]: So I just want to talk real quickly about our defense.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_06]: I know we've been talking a lot about our offense and the struggles, but we, I think someone needs to mention that stat that came up on the screen last Sunday with Miles Garrett having one tackle.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_06]: To me, that was super, super upsetting.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_06]: Your best player on defense has one tackle, the whole game, it's ridiculous.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_06]: Obviously, we know the plan this week will be main later on the ball, so we might not have a crazy amount of opportunities
- 55:18[SPEAKER_06]: but at the same time, part of being a defensive end is not just solely sacking, like you need to show up on all ends and just record more than one tackle at some point.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_06]: So I just would like to see how he does this week and if anybody has anything about that.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_01]: I, I just, I'm with you.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think a lot of Browns fans feel the same way.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_01]: Just like to see some more from miles.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you started out the season very strong.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: How to couple and very dominant performances
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: I just I hate it because I feel like I defend the guy a lot more than maybe I should but he does do the disappearing act where Then you'll go a couple weeks or it's like I forgot even even on the field like and it doesn't have to be sacks, but
- 56:02[SPEAKER_01]: Break up some passes, knock some stuff down, you know, make some big tackles, make some tackle for loss.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just don't see the impact that you would expect from a guy of his caliber all the time on four.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_06]: I'm speaking of facts, too.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_06]: There's that number out there that he can have the most sex and whatever the stat is, but it doesn't even seem like he cares about it.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_06]: Like, it's just...
- 56:27[SPEAKER_06]: I don't understand, is now the time where he's just going to implode, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: I miss this is why I talk all the time about this losing culture.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_01]: It infects everybody.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_01]: The defense, are they going to play at a high level all season?
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: If this is the offensive output, we get every week?
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_01]: No, you're going to see a lot less effort
- 56:55[SPEAKER_01]: on all facets if this is how things continue to go and you know Brad had to go point about the dolphins and their team only meetings and all this kind of stuff like their dysfunctional that that that team that organization is falling apart at the seams.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I think we might be too even if a lot of people don't want to admit that or you know even think about it or whatever
- 57:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's what's it's kind of happening and I think it could unravel quickly if we lose to Miami and honestly if we come out we struggle against Miami.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we end up winning, but we struggle.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be hard to tell with the weather.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_01]: This game's going to be a very interesting one to watch.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, their past rushers, I said this on social media the other day, you got Bradley Chubb, who's got four sacks on the year, Sam's Miles Garrett, and you've got Jalen Phillips on the other side, who's both these guys have dealt with injuries in the past.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but they're healthy right now, and you know, I was watching the Thursday night game when the dolphins were playing the jets two weeks ago, and, you know, if we can say all of the jets don't have a good offensive line, neither do we, and the dolphins past rush was insane.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_01]: I was watching that game thinking, wow, we got to play these guys in a couple of weeks.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_01]: I know they're a bad team, but that past rush could be a problem, especially if Jack
- 58:21[SPEAKER_01]: We could be in trouble.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: We could be in trouble.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys are serious.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys are very good past Russia.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_01]: So we will see how it goes.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect a pretty game.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think the outcome could go either way.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be close.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how it goes.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you guys, though, tuning in here, jumping up on stage with me early.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know I had to do this show early today because of nap time here at the household, but we got it done.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're good to go, and I hope you guys have a great weekend, and if you're going up to the game.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_01]: Hauncho it up, baby, because it's going to be wet.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: The 100% chance of rain, strong wind gusts, at least it's not going to be in like the 40s.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be what mid 60s or something like that.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure it'll be cooler or feel a lot cooler on the lake with the wind and the rain and everything.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: But it could be worse.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: It could be worse.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: Just don't be up there.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_01]: So if you guys run into Justin Charles, make sure you say what's up.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_01]: And,
- 59:19[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see, hopefully the Brownski come out here with a winner, it'd be nice if they could go make a statement.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like, look, it hasn't been great up until now, but we put some stuff together in practice this week and we're coming out here and we're making a statement.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect it, but it would be nice.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_01]: So let me know what you guys think.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: If you're watching this listening after the fact, drop it in the comments wherever you're watching.
