- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, Jeff Legwald, it's published, It's happened. It's right
- 0:04Speaker 1: here on my screen. The Top one hundred Jeff Langwald
- 0:09Speaker 1: ranking the top one hundred players in the twenty twenty
- 0:12Speaker 1: six NFL Draft and legy. You know, I had to
- 0:15Speaker 1: go directly to number sixty two, Yes, I, And I wondered,
- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm like, this is Jeff Legwald doing this on purpose
- 0:25Speaker 1: because I couldn't help. But notice you got a linebacker
- 0:29Speaker 1: right there at number sixty two, Josiah Trotter out of Missouri.
- 0:37Speaker 1: See a target for George Peyton and the Broncos in
- 0:40Speaker 1: the second round.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Well, I will say they've done it. You know, they
- 0:44Speaker 2: do plenty of work on everybody. I don't want to
- 0:47Speaker 2: make it sound like, you know, it's out of the order,
- 0:50Speaker 2: but they have done a lot of inquiry about his
- 0:53Speaker 2: knee and all of.
- 0:55Speaker 3: The rest of it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: He had arthroscopic surgery at the end of the season,
- 0:58Speaker 2: but they did not have him in in a top
- 1:02Speaker 2: thirty visit that I could nail down. They did meet
- 1:06Speaker 2: with him extensively, a formal meeting and all.
- 1:11Speaker 3: The rest of it at the combine.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But they have spent a lot of time on him
- 1:16Speaker 2: as a player, and I think if they take a
- 1:19Speaker 2: linebacker in that area, Trotter or Jimmy Rolder are the
- 1:25Speaker 2: two guys you should sort of keep handy in that
- 1:29Speaker 2: general area. If it's a linebacker, I think the strength
- 1:33Speaker 2: of the board will be defensive linemen at that point though,
- 1:36Speaker 2: and they may get forced in another direction.
- 1:39Speaker 4: All right, Legy, you put me in doze at seven,
- 1:43Speaker 4: you said, and we always you tell people I put
- 1:45Speaker 4: the quarterbacks or they should be. Everybody else moves the
- 1:48Speaker 4: quarterbacks up. The top QB in this draft, at least
- 1:52Speaker 4: considered by many count goes at seventy and is the
- 1:55Speaker 4: number one quarterback in the list.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Why there, that's just where his grade well for me, uh,
- 2:02Speaker 2: you know, and it's an amazing season. I don't want
- 2:05Speaker 2: to cheap in anything the guy did uh this year
- 2:09Speaker 2: and no red zone interceptions for two years. That's uh,
- 2:13Speaker 2: that's big time production. But at elite level play. He
- 2:20Speaker 2: has really one season as a body of work. Tremendously
- 2:24Speaker 2: accurate precision he is. He is as precise a prospect
- 2:28Speaker 2: as I've seen in a long time. And it's just
- 2:31Speaker 2: the pocket mobility.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I charted a bunch of games and there isn't much
- 2:38Speaker 2: between the numbers in that offense, so that's a little
- 2:42Speaker 2: bit uncertain. Uh so, just some of those things. But yeah,
- 2:46Speaker 2: he ain't waiting to seven. He's coming off at number one.
- 2:49Speaker 2: He's he's I've been told he's he's memorized three quarters
- 2:54Speaker 2: of the playbook already for the Raiders, so or you know, however,
- 3:00Speaker 2: have given him the information to deal with. But yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 2: he's the top quarterback and it ain't close. He's the
- 3:09Speaker 2: only first round quarterback in grade wise in this draft.
- 3:13Speaker 3: For me, all right, we.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Got the quarterback out of the way, let me bounce
- 3:16Speaker 4: back in Nate's neighborhood because it is interesting what I
- 3:18Speaker 4: like to do when you pick someone. And you've got
- 3:19Speaker 4: Josiah Trotter at twenty two, in case you missed the
- 3:21Speaker 4: beginning of the interview, linebacker at Missouri, that's number sixty two.
- 3:25Speaker 4: That's not what Jeff's saying the Broncos would do. So
- 3:28Speaker 4: let's go and relate it to the Broncos. Now. They
- 3:30Speaker 4: seem to have had an interest in the guards and
- 3:32Speaker 4: the centers and the tackles. And I see at number
- 3:35Speaker 4: sixty you've got Georgia Tech offensive lineman guard center Keelan Rutledge.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Is this a guy the Broncos that have interest picking
- 3:42Speaker 4: that high if you was in that neighborhood, or do
- 3:45Speaker 4: you think the number two, their second round pick, is
- 3:47Speaker 4: maybe too high for them to go picking on the
- 3:50Speaker 4: offensive line?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:51Speaker 2: I mean that is in the modern NFL. That is
- 3:55Speaker 2: a high pick for a center guard in this day
- 3:59Speaker 2: and age. You know, I don't you know, they certainly
- 4:00Speaker 2: didn't take minor that early, but you know this regime,
- 4:06Speaker 2: you know, And I thought it was very when they
- 4:08Speaker 2: did speak publicly last week.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I thought it was interesting.
- 4:13Speaker 2: George Peyton made it a point to say best player
- 4:17Speaker 2: available to a point, you know, basically, you know, it
- 4:21Speaker 2: has to make sense. But he is worthy of that grade,
- 4:24Speaker 2: you know, sixty two in my mind, just and he
- 4:27Speaker 2: fits their mold. You know, he was in a run
- 4:30Speaker 2: heavy offense with tech but a lot of movement skills.
- 4:36Speaker 2: He is a right guard in college. That's not really
- 4:39Speaker 2: a need spot for them, but a lot of times
- 4:42Speaker 2: a top guard center prospect can play with either hand
- 4:47Speaker 2: down and that sounds simple, but it's not. You know,
- 4:52Speaker 2: looking at things from the left and from the right
- 4:55Speaker 2: can be very different. But I think I believe he
- 5:00Speaker 2: play either guard spot or center in the NFL, so
- 5:03Speaker 2: he definitely would be worthy of the pick. I just
- 5:05Speaker 2: don't know that they put that kind of value on
- 5:09Speaker 2: a garden center. But if if the board falls a
- 5:12Speaker 2: certain way, he's best player available in that realm.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and you can certainly see a future need at
- 5:19Speaker 1: that spot. The keyword is clutch text clutch to three
- 5:23Speaker 1: zero three, five oh four nine to two five along
- 5:26Speaker 1: with your name right now and you are entered to
- 5:28Speaker 1: win tickets to Game two Minnesota and Denver tonight at
- 5:31Speaker 1: ball Arena LEGGI. How does the Dexter Lawrence trade with
- 5:36Speaker 1: the Giants now having number five and number ten? How
- 5:42Speaker 1: does that perhaps change with Joe Shane and John Harbaugh's
- 5:46Speaker 1: approach is going to be to number five, and now
- 5:49Speaker 1: that they have number ten, how are they going to
- 5:51Speaker 1: handle having two picks that high man?
- 5:54Speaker 2: You know, I know an awful lot of people in
- 5:55Speaker 2: the league are stunned. Yeah, they got a number ten
- 5:58Speaker 2: pick for a detack as good as that de tackle is.
- 6:02Speaker 2: But they control the board really, I mean other than
- 6:06Speaker 2: the Raiders. You know, the Raiders get to do whatever
- 6:09Speaker 2: they want. Yeah, you know, and until you get to
- 6:12Speaker 2: the Giants. Those teams have control, but the Giants control
- 6:18Speaker 2: from you know, five on down to fifteen. Really, by
- 6:23Speaker 2: what they do, they're gonna they're gonna flip a out
- 6:25Speaker 2: of dominoes for people?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Does this on the board?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Does this make it easier to take Jeremiah Love now
- 6:32Speaker 1: at number five? If you know you've got number ten,
- 6:35Speaker 1: like you get they could get Caleb downs easily right
- 6:38Speaker 1: now at number ten they could, A receiver can fall,
- 6:42Speaker 1: whatever it may be. But like, does this give them
- 6:46Speaker 1: more more leash to make the luxury picks, so to speak,
- 6:50Speaker 1: with a running back at five, I.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Just a yes, b they got a shot at getting
- 6:57Speaker 3: two blues.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, the proverbial blue player on the board,
- 7:01Speaker 2: which is the highest scouting grade and a lot of
- 7:04Speaker 2: the color coding. A lot of the teams use. Love
- 7:08Speaker 2: is worth any pick on the board.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Really.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I mean, you'd have a hard time taking him over
- 7:15Speaker 2: the quarterback at one if you're the Raiders. But talent wise,
- 7:19Speaker 2: he is worth any pick on the board. A spectacular player.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I don't live in the world. I get the analytics.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I've studied him extensively. I understand it. I think three
- 7:33Speaker 2: awesome years with a running back. Uh, if you're a
- 7:37Speaker 2: team ready for that pick, like Arizona, I'm not sure
- 7:40Speaker 2: Arizona is ready to put Jeremiah Love into.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Their lineup and win. You know that, you know what
- 7:48Speaker 3: I mean?
- 7:49Speaker 2: I think if you're a team up in that realm
- 7:52Speaker 2: and you're ready too, and I think the Giants are
- 7:55Speaker 2: more ready. But he he's a spectacular player. I will
- 8:00Speaker 2: be stunned, you know the proverbial, if he stays healthy,
- 8:03Speaker 2: if he just does not have a spectator. He is
- 8:06Speaker 2: an NFL modern day, multifaceted running back as you can
- 8:13Speaker 2: find on the board in recent years. In the passing game,
- 8:17Speaker 2: he didn't just run routes. He runs precise routes. He
- 8:20Speaker 2: gets exact depth. He's you know, the hands to the
- 8:24Speaker 2: ball are perfect. I mean, this isn't just a guy
- 8:28Speaker 2: touching passes. He's a receiver as soon at the minute
- 8:31Speaker 2: he leaves the line of scrimmage. And the thing that
- 8:34Speaker 2: impressed me the most beyond all of that is the
- 8:37Speaker 2: number of miss tackles this player forced was incredible for me.
- 8:43Speaker 2: And I've looked at running backs every year and this this,
- 8:47Speaker 2: this is a really really special type of player.
- 8:50Speaker 4: All right, So again, keep a Denver angle on this,
- 8:53Speaker 4: You've got a fifty three Stours the tight end out
- 8:56Speaker 4: of Vanderbilt, fifty six Max Claire, the tight end at
- 8:58Speaker 4: Ohio State. Is Stours worth the extra cheddar in a
- 9:02Speaker 4: trade to try to get up and get him versus
- 9:05Speaker 4: Max Claire? Or how close are they? Obviously the grades
- 9:08Speaker 4: are close. Which is the more ideal fit for Sean
- 9:11Speaker 4: Payton if they are thinking about jumping up there Leggy.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Well Claire's grade based on having played the position longer,
- 9:19Speaker 2: He's more refined dollars? Is the athlete one of the
- 9:25Speaker 2: best athletes on the board. To me, if he gets
- 9:28Speaker 2: past fifty and I'm the Broncos I'm starting to figure out,
- 9:34Speaker 2: is what can one of those fourth round picks get
- 9:37Speaker 2: me there? You know, that's really the only round they
- 9:41Speaker 2: have anything in the upper half, you know, So package
- 9:45Speaker 2: one of the fourth rounders with the third rounder and
- 9:51Speaker 2: some of the stuff late in the day on day
- 9:54Speaker 2: three and see if you could make it happen. But
- 9:57Speaker 2: I think if he got past fifty, they got a
- 10:00Speaker 2: to do it, and I personally believe he would be
- 10:03Speaker 2: worth that in this offense.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Now, wait, you said third rounder, so you're trading the
- 10:07Speaker 4: twenty seventh third round or you're saying.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Oh, no, no, I mean I meant, I mean, see
- 10:11Speaker 2: if the one of the second round pick, See if
- 10:14Speaker 2: you can use the second round pick with one of
- 10:16Speaker 2: your fourth rounders to.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Jump the fifteen spots or whatever.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and then mix and match the late day three
- 10:23Speaker 2: picks they have. You know, they have almost all their
- 10:26Speaker 2: picks on Day three, so you know, make some kind
- 10:29Speaker 2: of package with those. I don't have the draft chart
- 10:32Speaker 2: right in front of me, but I think, off the
- 10:35Speaker 2: top of my head, you could take the second round
- 10:38Speaker 2: or a fourth rounder and some of the late day
- 10:40Speaker 2: three stuff and make something happen. I think he would
- 10:43Speaker 2: be worth it. I think, uh, you know, as long
- 10:46Speaker 2: as you're not in the realm of he's got to
- 10:49Speaker 2: come in and be an all around tight end immediately
- 10:53Speaker 2: and be proficient in all things in the playbook before
- 10:57Speaker 2: he's involved. And don't waste your time making the tray.
- 11:00Speaker 2: If you want them to go in and catch passes
- 11:02Speaker 2: and run pass linebackers and safeties, bring them in immediately
- 11:07Speaker 2: and do that.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's and we've talked about this. Guys like the
- 11:11Speaker 1: Broncos as a as a football team that does not
- 11:13Speaker 1: have glaring obvious holes again, and you brought this up
- 11:17Speaker 1: in regards to Caleb Banks, who's an absolute stud and
- 11:20Speaker 1: could be tumbling because of a knee injury. These are
- 11:24Speaker 1: the kind of guys the Broncos can draft because they
- 11:27Speaker 1: don't have a I honestly don't think they have a
- 11:30Speaker 1: single starting spot available this upcoming season, Like the Broncos
- 11:34Speaker 1: can flat out just say we are drafting on on
- 11:39Speaker 1: future production and future potential in future ceiling.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I think the right inside linebacker could start, okay.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I think that.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I think the right like Sternod and the rookie would
- 11:52Speaker 2: be flipping certain roles.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I think, okay, could happen.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I think they they're comfortable with the idea of Singleton
- 12:01Speaker 2: and Sternod playing in the base or you know what
- 12:05Speaker 2: s Drew Sanders going to look like in can't all
- 12:08Speaker 2: of these things. But I think the right inside, like
- 12:11Speaker 2: if Rodriguez somehow ended up in their lap, I think
- 12:16Speaker 2: that's a walk in just because of the way he
- 12:19Speaker 2: plays his awareness. There are several inside linebackers you know,
- 12:25Speaker 2: in the in the upper half of Day two I
- 12:27Speaker 2: think would be worthy of coming in and really challenging
- 12:30Speaker 2: to play. But it's a tough, tough position to play
- 12:33Speaker 2: as a rookie.
- 12:35Speaker 3: But if it was just.
- 12:35Speaker 2: A first and second down proposition, I think that is
- 12:38Speaker 2: one spot or a rookie. And like stoars to me,
- 12:42Speaker 2: it's like, if you pick him, you already know the
- 12:46Speaker 2: plays in the playbook. You're thinking of it, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 2: so you know he would get important downs, maybe not
- 12:53Speaker 2: starting downs, but he would get important thout.
- 12:55Speaker 4: So you're saying, Jacob Rodriguez, the linebacker out of Texas
- 12:58Speaker 4: Tech at forty five, if they were to follow him,
- 13:00Speaker 4: that's where you think, maybe that's the guy that walks in,
- 13:03Speaker 4: that's who you're referring to.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Well, he's prepared for that.
- 13:06Speaker 2: That's the kind of player who's ready just for his game,
- 13:10Speaker 2: his physicality, his awareness, Uh, he gets the he I mean,
- 13:17Speaker 2: if you want to find the ball, just follow him
- 13:19Speaker 2: and you'll find the ball and forces fumbles all the
- 13:23Speaker 2: things rookies have a hard time doing in that position
- 13:28Speaker 2: when they and I think physically you've got to be
- 13:31Speaker 2: prepared for that job, and not all rookies already physically.
- 13:35Speaker 3: But he is all right.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Before he let you go, who is the Can you
- 13:38Speaker 4: finally tell us who is the guy, you're stressing over
- 13:40Speaker 4: that you bumped two spots? Who was it?
- 13:43Speaker 2: Oh, I gotta I gotta look down now, because uh,
- 13:47Speaker 2: there were several.
- 13:48Speaker 4: But who was the biggest stressor that lay felt stupid
- 13:51Speaker 4: about later that you referred to to Nate the other day.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Bryce Lance was Bryce Trey Lances.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I love him as a prospect. And I
- 14:05Speaker 2: had a lot of scouts telling me, all, you got
- 14:07Speaker 2: him too high. I got him at ninety three. You
- 14:10Speaker 2: got him too high?
- 14:11Speaker 3: And he sat it.
- 14:12Speaker 2: He said it ninety six on my board from like
- 14:16Speaker 2: November to you know, last week. And I went back
- 14:22Speaker 2: and I looked at snaps and I moved him three spots.
- 14:26Speaker 3: That's just an epic all timer.
- 14:30Speaker 4: For me, good news for Logan Jones, who's now ninety six.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah, no one cares for me, like, no one.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Absolutely, no one's gonna say, I can't believe you got
- 14:39Speaker 2: Bryce Lance at ninety three. But yeah, that's inside the
- 14:43Speaker 2: warped brain of me right there there.
- 14:46Speaker 1: It is everybody. He's Jeff legwold Man. Leggy, excellent work
- 14:51Speaker 1: on the top one hundred. You gotta stop by on Wednesday,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and you got to break this down with us even
- 14:56Speaker 1: further as we get closer to the NFL Draft. But
- 14:59Speaker 1: as always, Jeff, excellent work, great read. We appreciate you
- 15:04Speaker 1: putting in all of that time and even agonizing over
- 15:07Speaker 1: whether or not to move Trey Lance's brother up three spots,
- 15:10Speaker 1: so we appreciate it. Man.
- 15:12Speaker 2: All good, and I'll be ready to roll Wednesday if
- 15:15Speaker 2: you want that.
- 15:16Speaker 1: All right, Jeff Legwarld, We're gonna spend an hour with
- 15:18Speaker 1: Leggie coming up on Wednesday,
