- 1:53Speaker 1: As we begin this wonderful new feature on our show,
- 1:56Speaker 1: the you know, the the the the the download of
- 1:59Speaker 1: the this new feature on our show, the presentation of
- 2:02Speaker 1: an hour of our great radio archive, and that is
- 2:05Speaker 1: today from the year two thousand. This is Art Griego
- 2:08Speaker 1: our pilot and he is talking about John Kennedy Junior.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And the reason why John Kennedy Junior crashed that plane
- 2:16Speaker 1: is because of all the talking that was going on
- 2:18Speaker 1: on the plane. He couldn't take it any longer and
- 2:20Speaker 1: he just nosed it in.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh my god, you Margaret, you knew it. I
- 2:24Speaker 2: knew you did it. I didn't think you were gonna
- 2:26Speaker 2: think you'd replay it.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Well, we're doing it. So this is Art Greego from
- 2:30Speaker 1: July two thousand. John Kennedy Jr. Couldn't stand all.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Of the blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, and.
- 2:36Speaker 1: He just dove it right into the surf. Yeah, and
- 2:39Speaker 1: even Margaret's laughing right now.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You are, Margaret, No, I'm not.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Yes, you are on the world famous Phil Henry Show,
- 2:53Speaker 1: Phil Henry Show.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And John F.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Kennedy Junior probably became disoriented in the night sky on
- 2:59Speaker 3: his final flight, leading to the crash that killed him,
- 3:01Speaker 3: his wife, and her sister, according to federal investigators, who
- 3:06Speaker 3: have released their final report on the accident today, nearly
- 3:09Speaker 3: a year after the sun of the late President plummeted
- 3:11Speaker 3: into the sea off of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, and you
- 3:15Speaker 3: recall it was one year ago this month, the National
- 3:18Speaker 3: Transportation Safety Board confirmed preliminary reports and suspicions held since
- 3:23Speaker 3: the crash by concluding that pilot error was the probable
- 3:26Speaker 3: cause of the July sixteenth, nineteen ninety nine accident. Art
- 3:31Speaker 3: Grego is a private pilot and is on the line
- 3:33Speaker 3: with US from Santa Monica and generally has some interesting
- 3:37Speaker 3: takes on matters relative to aviation.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Art, how are you this afternoon? All right?
- 3:45Speaker 3: So what do you think of this report and what
- 3:48Speaker 3: do you think of the conclusion of pilot error.
- 3:51Speaker 4: I disagree with it, as you know, I know you.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Told me that before we went on the air.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Y Well, I think that John Kennedy, John Kennedy Junior,
- 3:57Speaker 4: was a good pilot. Think there was any pilot error,
- 4:01Speaker 4: and I think that would have been something that the
- 4:03Speaker 4: NTSB could could have concluded. How So, I think that
- 4:09Speaker 4: there wasn't any disorientation due to the elements of the weather.
- 4:12Speaker 4: The NTSB, I think is might be doing a little
- 4:16Speaker 4: covering up because you know as well as I do,
- 4:19Speaker 4: that there is a powerful female lobby in this country
- 4:23Speaker 4: that doesn't want the facts to come out. In my opinion, Now.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Wait before we start talking about political cover up, you
- 4:29Speaker 3: are implicating a female lobby meaning what now or well.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I just no, I wouldn't say any specific organization.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Now hold on for a minute.
- 4:38Speaker 3: You're saying that a consortium or a conspiracy or a group.
- 4:42Speaker 4: I'm not coming in a conspiracy either. There. I'm saying
- 4:45Speaker 4: the women are obviously more powerful politically in this country,
- 4:52Speaker 4: and I don't think that they would want the facts
- 4:56Speaker 4: of this to come out and such as well, do
- 5:02Speaker 4: the math. The guy was flying with two women who
- 5:05Speaker 4: most probably started right in as soon as the plane
- 5:08Speaker 4: got off the ground, and that the plane made it
- 5:12Speaker 4: as far as it did. Well, that pilot John F.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Kennedy Junior was subjected to the incessant back seat driving
- 5:19Speaker 4: is amazing eye. As a matter of fact, though we
- 5:23Speaker 4: did have or we're lucky enough to got some of
- 5:25Speaker 4: the cockpit voice recorder.
- 5:27Speaker 3: All right, now you're saying to me, hold on, for it.
- 5:29Speaker 3: You have some of the cockpit voice recorder, Yes, I do.
- 5:32Speaker 4: And uh, these women I think are fairly typical of
- 5:35Speaker 4: a lot of women who fly with their husbands and
- 5:38Speaker 4: their brothers in law. We did have on the tape,
- 5:43Speaker 4: and I did. I think they in the in the
- 5:44Speaker 4: cockpit voice recorder. The transcription was fly faster, John knows up, John,
- 5:51Speaker 4: you're stalling. You're starling a lot of the things that
- 5:53Speaker 4: are typical I think of women in the back seat driving.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Okay, So in other words, what you're telling me and
- 5:59Speaker 3: these you started off your comments by saying that John F.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Kennedy Junior, they probably started right in as soon as
- 6:04Speaker 3: the plane got off the ground.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Yeah, Because once you've got you've got a man, you've
- 6:09Speaker 4: got two women. The man is flying, the women are
- 6:14Speaker 4: either sitting shotgun or one is sitting behind him. That
- 6:18Speaker 4: is a formula for incessant bothering and harassment off the pilot.
- 6:25Speaker 4: And when you take into consideration the hundreds of thousands
- 6:29Speaker 4: of miles driven by motorists in this country just on
- 6:32Speaker 4: the ground, and the backseat driving that their wives and
- 6:36Speaker 4: mothers in law. And I'll tell you this much. Had
- 6:39Speaker 4: there been a mother in law on board. I have
- 6:42Speaker 4: no doubt that mister Kennedy would have brought it down
- 6:44Speaker 4: in a populated area. But fortunately, because there was no
- 6:48Speaker 4: mother in law, he was able to at least, and
- 6:51Speaker 4: my head is off to John Kennedy Jr. He was
- 6:54Speaker 4: able to save a lot of people, a lot of
- 6:58Speaker 4: people's lives by bringing it down in the ocean.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Were you saying that because there was no mother in
- 7:02Speaker 3: law on board, which would have brought the plane down sooner.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that with the incessant haranguing of his
- 7:08Speaker 4: mother in law, with the incessant clap trap, and it's
- 7:11Speaker 4: just the NonStop verbal diarrhea of a mother in law,
- 7:16Speaker 4: I think he would have brought that thing down nose
- 7:17Speaker 4: first into a jungle gym. And now you're talking about
- 7:20Speaker 4: dead kids. Now it's not funny. Now it's dead kids.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I think that what you had was a wife and
- 7:27Speaker 4: a sister in law. That's bad enough. And as you
- 7:30Speaker 4: can see, he couldn't bring that. He didn't get the
- 7:32Speaker 4: thing anywhere near where he wanted to land it, which
- 7:35Speaker 4: is on Long Island. But his guy, I think it
- 7:37Speaker 4: was in Hyannas's that he was heading.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, he was going from Long Island to hyennas correct.
- 7:42Speaker 4: I think what happened was that the haranguing, the talking,
- 7:46Speaker 4: the backseat driving, Fly faster, fly, floor, nose up. You know,
- 7:51Speaker 4: I have a mirror for my makeup? How am I
- 7:53Speaker 4: going to put on these hose? Do you have? Can
- 7:56Speaker 4: I smoke in here? Anybody got a drink? All of
- 8:00Speaker 4: this stuff just keeps on and on and on. And
- 8:02Speaker 4: what happens to the typical male pilot is his hands
- 8:06Speaker 4: begin to tense up on the yoke. There is visible perspiration.
- 8:10Speaker 4: He becomes almost dizzy, disoriented. There's a vertigo that sets in.
- 8:15Speaker 4: The voices of his wife and his sister in law
- 8:18Speaker 4: turn into almost an echo chamber. They begin to reverberate
- 8:22Speaker 4: their slap back. He doesn't really hear the words anymore.
- 8:25Speaker 4: The sky looks wrong, the water looks wrong, and the
- 8:30Speaker 4: next thing, you know, rather than have to listen to
- 8:32Speaker 4: them any longer, he goes ahead and puts it into
- 8:36Speaker 4: a noose dive.
- 8:38Speaker 2: So are you telling me that John Kennedy took his
- 8:40Speaker 2: own life.
- 8:41Speaker 4: No, I'm not saying that he took his own life.
- 8:43Speaker 4: He was looking for relief. He was looking for relief
- 8:46Speaker 4: from the sound of these women's voices. And I don't
- 8:50Speaker 4: think he wanted to kill anybody. I think he was
- 8:52Speaker 4: just we look for relief from a headache by taking aspirin.
- 8:55Speaker 4: John did the logical thing. He looked for relief from
- 8:58Speaker 4: the constant haranguing of these women by simply crashing it
- 9:03Speaker 4: into the ocean. And I don't think he was thinking
- 9:05Speaker 4: of taking anybody's life so much as just the blessed
- 9:08Speaker 4: relief of silence, and that's what he got. And I
- 9:13Speaker 4: think he just I think what he was looking to
- 9:15Speaker 4: do so was the ditch and the pain.
- 9:18Speaker 3: We are talking with Art Greego, private pilot from Santa Monica,
- 9:22Speaker 3: with a very unorthodox view of what really happened in
- 9:24Speaker 3: that airplane one year ago when John Kennedy Junior, along
- 9:28Speaker 3: with his wife and his sister in law died when
- 9:31Speaker 3: the plane crashed.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Now, the NTSB says it was disorientation.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Mister Griego was saying that with a man flying and
- 9:38Speaker 3: two women sitting in the plane the backseat driving, the
- 9:42Speaker 3: haranguing and the complaining about his flying probably was so
- 9:45Speaker 3: much that mister Kennedy ditched.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I think he was looking to ditch to release one
- 9:51Speaker 4: of the rafts and just get away from them. Now,
- 9:55Speaker 4: I know that the emergency equipment on that cess that
- 9:57Speaker 4: he was flying does afford the capability of three people
- 10:01Speaker 4: to get on three separate rafts. I think what he
- 10:03Speaker 4: wanted to do is hit the automatic inflight on one
- 10:06Speaker 4: of those life rafts, get in it, and get out
- 10:08Speaker 4: of there before they were able to get into theirs
- 10:11Speaker 4: and float after him. And I think he just wanted
- 10:14Speaker 4: to get clear of the crash scene, and.
- 10:16Speaker 3: So he was looking to ditch and get away from
- 10:19Speaker 3: these women who had not shut up since he yet.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Yeah, had not shut up since he took off.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Now you have a piece of.
- 10:27Speaker 3: The voice recorder that you're going to play for us
- 10:29Speaker 3: a little bit later on.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Yes, And I think it's gonna bear on a lot
- 10:32Speaker 4: of what I'm saying. Well, I was want to say,
- 10:34Speaker 4: I have experienced this, and all I'm saying is, if
- 10:37Speaker 4: you are a single man flying with more than one woman,
- 10:42Speaker 4: you can begin to lose nervous control. You start to sweat,
- 10:45Speaker 4: your hands, start to shake, your spatial orientation gets thrown off.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I've been with my wife and I love her, and
- 10:53Speaker 4: almost as soon as we lift off, she starts in
- 10:57Speaker 4: and I begin to lose control of the aircraft. I'm
- 11:00Speaker 4: almost I tell you right now, I've almost pucked at
- 11:03Speaker 4: nose first in a crowded jungle gym right right near
- 11:06Speaker 4: the Santa Monica Airport here. And I'll tell you if
- 11:09Speaker 4: Kafka Junior had his mother in law in that plan
- 11:13Speaker 4: with him, I have no doubt in my mind he
- 11:15Speaker 4: would have crash landed a populated high density housing project.
- 11:19Speaker 4: So again my head is off to him.
- 11:21Speaker 3: So you are saying, in other words, that it was
- 11:23Speaker 3: a great piece of flying that he crashed it where
- 11:25Speaker 3: he did.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Oh, absolutely, it was a tremendous piece of flying that
- 11:28Speaker 4: he put it down where he did and didn't kill somebody.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Because I can tell you, and any planet can tell
- 11:34Speaker 4: you that when you're flying and.
- 11:37Speaker 3: You are okay, I gotta interrupt you here because you
- 11:39Speaker 3: know that you're going to have a lot of women
- 11:41Speaker 3: saying that this is obvious sexist. So I understand hold
- 11:46Speaker 3: on obvious sexist conclusions that you're coming to that women
- 11:51Speaker 3: talk too much while a man's trying to drive. You
- 11:53Speaker 3: are accusing these two women now of causing that crash.
- 11:57Speaker 4: You realize that it is my opinion, I stick with it. Yes, sir,
- 12:00Speaker 4: And this is no commentary on these women, but I
- 12:02Speaker 4: think there comes a point when you just want to
- 12:04Speaker 4: end the pain. And I think pilots, private pilots should
- 12:08Speaker 4: not be allowed to fly with their wives or female
- 12:11Speaker 4: members of the family royalty. As you know, Prince Charles,
- 12:15Speaker 4: Prince William, they cannot fly together. We also have the
- 12:18Speaker 4: rules that say the President of the United States cannot
- 12:20Speaker 4: fly with the vice president. I don't see anything wrong
- 12:23Speaker 4: with saying to private pilots, keep your wives and your
- 12:26Speaker 4: girlfriends and your sisters, keep them in the hangar until
- 12:30Speaker 4: you get airborne, and they'll catch up to you later.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Ark Griegel private pilots, as he gives his theory of
- 12:36Speaker 3: why JFK. Junior's plane went down, the fact that his
- 12:40Speaker 3: wife and her sister didn't shut up from the time
- 12:44Speaker 3: the plane lifted off until the time the plane eventually
- 12:47Speaker 3: hit the water there in the Atlantic. And you were saying,
- 12:51Speaker 3: they literally were talking all the way up.
- 12:52Speaker 2: To the end.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Yeah, because, as the voice recorder will bear out, we
- 12:57Speaker 4: have a snippet of tape.
- 12:58Speaker 2: From them that they were talking when the plane crashed.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, we're going to hear that and take
- 13:04Speaker 3: some phone calls here, Art Diego with us on the
- 13:07Speaker 3: Phil Henry Show, The Phil Henry Show. Here on the
- 13:25Speaker 3: line with us is Art Griego from Santa Monica. We're
- 13:28Speaker 3: talking about John F. Kennedy Junior's plane crashing.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Now.
- 13:31Speaker 3: The NTSB has said that it was a disorientation due
- 13:35Speaker 3: to the inner ear and a pilot error essentially, although
- 13:41Speaker 3: you're saying that that's not really fair, Art, Well, first of.
- 13:44Speaker 4: All, I don't think it's fair. I think John Kennedy Jr.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Was a fine pilot. This inner ear thing is always
- 13:51Speaker 4: cited when there are female passengers.
- 13:54Speaker 3: And so in other words, the female passengers were back
- 13:57Speaker 3: seat driving.
- 13:58Speaker 4: They could have been backseat driving, bothering him, wanting him
- 14:01Speaker 4: to shift the mirror. So they're going to apply their make
- 14:02Speaker 4: it You have been in those situations before, and I'm
- 14:05Speaker 4: saying is mister Kennedy was involved in a very tense
- 14:11Speaker 4: situation where I think it got to him and he
- 14:14Speaker 4: decided to ditch the plane and try to get out
- 14:17Speaker 4: and try to make it to Hyennis in a raft
- 14:19Speaker 4: or try to get picked up by the coastguard.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Because he couldn't stand listening to his wife and sister
- 14:24Speaker 3: talking any longer.
- 14:25Speaker 4: That's it. Absolutely.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Lincoln on the Phil Henry Show. Hello Lincoln, Hello, Hello, Yes, sir,
- 14:34Speaker 3: Hi you're on the air. Yeah, go ahead, sir, go ahead.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Yeah. What Kennedy ahead was what would they call spatial disorientation,
- 14:43Speaker 5: and it comes about by not seeing the horizon.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Well that's what the NTSB wants you to believe. Well,
- 14:49Speaker 4: I want you to believe.
- 14:50Speaker 5: That's what you want you to believe. I've experienced it
- 14:53Speaker 5: until you get to be an instrument rated pilot, and
- 14:55Speaker 5: you know what the horizon believes.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Have you ever been in an aircraft with two or
- 14:59Speaker 4: three women?
- 15:00Speaker 5: Hype it in their draft with six women?
- 15:02Speaker 4: Okay, and you know you've gotten space. What you've gotten
- 15:04Speaker 4: what you call spatial disorientation.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Only only when you would get in clouds and before
- 15:09Speaker 5: I ever had an instrument rating.
- 15:10Speaker 2: When you when you.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Drop drop a wing, well, dropping a wing.
- 15:16Speaker 5: I've dropped that. Yeah, that drops you in. And I'll
- 15:20Speaker 5: tell you that the spatial disorientation you're in when you're
- 15:24Speaker 5: taking your instrument trading the pilot, the instructors will actually
- 15:28Speaker 5: take you into that situation, so they'll show you what happened.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Roger, Now, where do you where do you drop your wing.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Well, you just lower the wing because you don't think
- 15:37Speaker 5: your mind is telling you that the wings are aren't level.
- 15:40Speaker 5: But what the part of you make them? What part
- 15:42Speaker 5: of the country, any part of the country. It will
- 15:44Speaker 5: happen anywhere.
- 15:45Speaker 4: You're going to drop your wing anywhere.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Well, you don't drop it off, you just lower it
- 15:49Speaker 5: on the ones on.
- 15:50Speaker 4: So yeah, how do you know that when you were
- 15:53Speaker 4: experiencing dropping a wing that a woman wasn't on board
- 15:55Speaker 4: with you? See, That's what I'm saying. And a lot
- 15:58Speaker 4: of guys will say, well, it's spatial disorientation, when in
- 16:01Speaker 4: point of fact, these women don't shut up.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Well, what are you saying that they're saying spatial disorientation
- 16:07Speaker 3: when they're ignoring the fact that the guy's got women
- 16:10Speaker 3: haranguing them whether yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Just as soon as they take off, okay, And I
- 16:15Speaker 4: think you need to look into that.
- 16:18Speaker 5: I think the guy is his clutch is slipping.
- 16:22Speaker 4: No, I'm telling you I have my clutch adjusted. Okay.
- 16:25Speaker 4: I'm saying, are you rated instrument rated?
- 16:30Speaker 5: Yes?
- 16:30Speaker 4: Well, where what vector is?
- 16:33Speaker 5: Do you have an instrument rating the fly price?
- 16:35Speaker 4: Yes? I do, yes, I do.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Yeah. And then when you took your training. They didn't
- 16:39Speaker 5: go up and have you demonstrate your vertigo.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Of course they did, but I never, I never, I
- 16:48Speaker 4: never experienced it, not until I'm along with my wife,
- 16:52Speaker 4: and that's when I begin to get dizzy. That's when
- 16:54Speaker 4: I start to lose the horizon.
- 16:56Speaker 3: And you're saying you're losing the horizon because your wife
- 16:59Speaker 3: won't shut up.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Well, if this guy doesn't know what I'm talking about,
- 17:02Speaker 4: I mean, yeah.
- 17:03Speaker 5: No, I don't. I've never done that.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Have you ever wanted to? Have you ever been flying
- 17:08Speaker 4: with your wife and a mother in law and you've
- 17:10Speaker 4: just had the urge to go ahead and ditch it?
- 17:13Speaker 5: No, no way, no way, Jose you're kidding now. I
- 17:16Speaker 5: wouldn't do that.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I have, and I think that that's what happened to
- 17:20Speaker 4: John Kennedy.
- 17:21Speaker 5: All right, sir, I think he lost the horizon. I
- 17:24Speaker 5: appreciate you, thank you very much for I got to
- 17:26Speaker 5: go to a bordendi.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Thank you for calling.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Okay, all right by here is Lake Forest on the
- 17:31Speaker 3: Phil Henry Show. Hello, Hi, Yes, ma'am. Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 6: I just think that this pilot that is uh called
- 17:38Speaker 6: in this is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.
- 17:41Speaker 6: I don't think he has any basis, and I think
- 17:43Speaker 6: it's very sexist.
- 17:45Speaker 2: His Wait a minute, what's the matter?
- 17:47Speaker 4: Art? You see what's happening to me right now?
- 17:51Speaker 6: Are you getting sweaty?
- 17:52Speaker 4: I'm getting a little dizzy.
- 17:54Speaker 6: Well, you.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Know, God, I wish Piper would make a plane with
- 17:59Speaker 4: a rear jack. I really do.
- 18:01Speaker 6: Well, you know what, maybe you need to go see
- 18:03Speaker 6: a psychiatrist or a licensed clinical social worker.
- 18:06Speaker 7: Why all I'm saying is to find out how.
- 18:09Speaker 6: To control those emotions and feelings that come over you
- 18:12Speaker 6: when a female talks to you.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Are you all right?
- 18:16Speaker 6: Aren't?
- 18:16Speaker 7: No?
- 18:18Speaker 8: No?
- 18:18Speaker 4: No, hold on, I've been married for fifteen years. I
- 18:20Speaker 4: can talk to my wife. I can deal with my
- 18:22Speaker 4: mother in law. I'm not saying it's easy, but I
- 18:26Speaker 4: can do it all right. But there's a certain I guess,
- 18:30Speaker 4: there's a certain oscillation level of voice where I start
- 18:34Speaker 4: to get dizzy. And as soon as you came on
- 18:36Speaker 4: the line.
- 18:38Speaker 2: You got dizzy listening to this lady.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Yes, I did.
- 18:41Speaker 6: Well it was your wife, your daughter in law. I
- 18:45Speaker 6: would not be happening in a plane with you. And
- 18:47Speaker 6: I also think that it's very very rude to the
- 18:52Speaker 6: family of those ladies that you're even calling in and
- 18:55Speaker 6: saying the same.
- 18:57Speaker 3: All right, mister Grego, sir, Yeah, okay, what the lady
- 19:03Speaker 3: said was that you probably should watch what you're saying
- 19:06Speaker 3: with regard to missus Kennedy and her sister.
- 19:09Speaker 4: All Right, I understand that. I'm just saying, if John
- 19:13Speaker 4: Kennedy experiences anything like a lot of pilots as soon
- 19:16Speaker 4: as the women start talking with the backseat driving, nose up,
- 19:20Speaker 4: nose down, you're going too fast, you're going too slow,
- 19:23Speaker 4: but you're stalling. You're stalling, get your note. You know
- 19:26Speaker 4: all of that stuff you would rather cute, I swear man,
- 19:29Speaker 4: you would rather crash it into a building.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Well, some people, he didn't have a building here, you
- 19:35Speaker 6: know what. I wouldn't that he was that kind of
- 19:38Speaker 6: person like that. That's fair for you to speak those
- 19:41Speaker 6: judgment all right.
- 19:42Speaker 3: I think that he's probably misjudging. I don't know that
- 19:46Speaker 3: it comes from any moral sense. I think it's just
- 19:48Speaker 3: a misjudging based upon a misinterpretation of people. Thank you,
- 19:53Speaker 3: ma'am for your call, though you're welcome. By Indian Orchard
- 19:57Speaker 3: on The Phil Henry Show. Hello, yes, sir, how you
- 20:00Speaker 3: pretty good?
- 20:00Speaker 2: So? How are you pretty good?
- 20:01Speaker 5: Sir?
- 20:02Speaker 8: I've got a couple of things that I'm really step
- 20:04Speaker 8: bothering me about what he's saying in not so much
- 20:07Speaker 8: the Cessna Piper argument, but.
- 20:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I spoke. I meant to say Piper if I
- 20:11Speaker 4: said Sessma, forgive me.
- 20:13Speaker 8: Okay. I've been flying, think about nineteen sixty six, and
- 20:16Speaker 8: I fly the Warrior and I fly the Arrow, which
- 20:19Speaker 8: you should know are just one notch below the Rola
- 20:21Speaker 8: Koga that he was in. Roger one voice cockpit voice
- 20:26Speaker 8: recorder on airplay is that small.
- 20:27Speaker 4: I've never heard hiper on the Piper. On the Piper,
- 20:30Speaker 4: they do have a minimal unit which is voice activated only,
- 20:35Speaker 4: and they've been experimenting with this now for Pobby. I
- 20:37Speaker 4: don't know. It's an option that they've experimented with for
- 20:40Speaker 4: like the last few few years. John Kennedy, obviously, money
- 20:44Speaker 4: not being any object, I'm sure dabbled in some of
- 20:48Speaker 4: these little options that you could load into a content.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:53Speaker 8: Again, I've never heard a laying.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I can play it for you if you'd like it.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Do you have the Yeah, that's what I want to ask.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Do you can order from the Piper factory?
- 21:01Speaker 3: All right, Well, hold on for a minute. Do you
- 21:02Speaker 3: have that piece of tape. I do so, all right,
- 21:05Speaker 3: I want to hear that with the collar on the line. Now,
- 21:07Speaker 3: this is supposedly the last few seconds before the piper
- 21:12Speaker 3: hit the water.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Yeah, so this is when they had pretty much reached
- 21:17Speaker 4: They went about thirty thirty five d im and then
- 21:21Speaker 4: here it is, all right, what was that? You can
- 21:29Speaker 4: hear it distinctly, someone saying I've got a pee okay,
- 21:35Speaker 4: and that says what That tells me that they had
- 21:37Speaker 4: been haranguing him and bugging him about having to go
- 21:40Speaker 4: to the bathroom and all this stuff. Okay, sir.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Indian Orchard, are you still are? I imagine he hung up.
- 21:50Speaker 4: I don't blame him.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Phil Henry Show, Phil Henry Show with me is Art
- 22:07Speaker 3: Griego on the line from Santa Monica at the airport
- 22:11Speaker 3: there right.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Art, Well, here I have a couple of blasts after
- 22:17Speaker 4: it's a fun day fly and we took some passengers
- 22:19Speaker 4: up to Santa Barbara.
- 22:21Speaker 2: You say you're having a couple of blasts.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just having a beer and joined a very
- 22:25Speaker 4: very beautiful day here in southern California. All right, we're
- 22:27Speaker 4: talking about John F. Kennedy and unfortunately not a happy topic.
- 22:31Speaker 4: John Kennedy Junior lost his life last year. The NTSP
- 22:34Speaker 4: says it was disorientation due to an inner ear. This
- 22:37Speaker 4: is a common spatial disorientation, a common malady suffered by
- 22:42Speaker 4: pilots when they.
- 22:45Speaker 2: When they have this this this inner ear situation right.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Art well again, So I don't think it was running.
- 22:51Speaker 4: I don't think it was just spatial disorientation. I think
- 22:54Speaker 4: it was disorientation caused by the fact that he had
- 22:58Speaker 4: a rife and a in law pulling blouses out of
- 23:02Speaker 4: the bag, or look at the earrings that I bought,
- 23:05Speaker 4: look at the makeup that I got. They had just
- 23:07Speaker 4: been to the Long Island Mall, and at the Long
- 23:10Speaker 4: Island Mall, yes, where they purchased these things. And so
- 23:15Speaker 4: here's John Kennedy Jr. And all he is praying for
- 23:18Speaker 4: is land. He's hoping to God he sees land and
- 23:21Speaker 4: sees it soon because he knows that that's Hyannas. He
- 23:25Speaker 4: can sit down there, get out, get debriefed.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Now, what do you mean by debriefed.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Any time you're in an aircraft for an extended period
- 23:33Speaker 4: with women, you have to be debriefed. Where you hit
- 23:38Speaker 4: the ground, you have to go in the NTSB immediately
- 23:41Speaker 4: wants to talk you down from this disoriented, you know,
- 23:47Speaker 4: state of mind that you're in.
- 23:49Speaker 2: All right, let's go to Omaha and the Phil Henry Show. Ho, Hi, Hi, mam.
- 23:54Speaker 9: I just wanted to say that I'm just I find
- 23:56Speaker 9: this an absolute riot. I think that maybe saying that
- 24:01Speaker 9: John Kennedy wanted to ditch the plane might be going
- 24:03Speaker 9: to extreme.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Well I don't think that.
- 24:06Speaker 9: Why, Well, well no, I just want to tell you
- 24:09Speaker 9: that I the reason I find this so funny is
- 24:11Speaker 9: because I come from a family of all girls, and
- 24:13Speaker 9: I have three daughters. Yes, and I know how we
- 24:16Speaker 9: can drive when we get together. We drive my dad
- 24:19Speaker 9: and my husband absolutely crazy. And I understand what you're saying.
- 24:22Speaker 4: There you go, and it could easily lead a man
- 24:24Speaker 4: Phil to want to get so far away from it
- 24:27Speaker 4: that he might ditch the plane, take his chances with
- 24:31Speaker 4: a passing coast guard cutter, or to in a boat.
- 24:34Speaker 3: So you're saying that John Kennedy was hoping to ditch
- 24:37Speaker 3: and be picked up by a fishing boat.
- 24:39Speaker 7: Yes, can I can? I just tell you that you
- 24:44Speaker 7: know when my husband might yet, Yeah, your husband and
- 24:47Speaker 7: your father have felt these feelings as well. Oh yeah,
- 24:51Speaker 7: if they want to stop, they'll want.
- 24:53Speaker 4: To let you out. O Either that or they'll get out.
- 24:56Speaker 4: They'll get out themselves and take the chances with a
- 24:58Speaker 4: passing truck.
- 25:00Speaker 9: Yeah, but I think that John Kennedy is probably mature
- 25:03Speaker 9: enough as my dad and father in law to know
- 25:05Speaker 9: I've got to get away or go to another room.
- 25:07Speaker 9: Don't listen to this.
- 25:08Speaker 4: If you're in an airport game not if you're in
- 25:10Speaker 4: an airplane, then all bets are off.
- 25:12Speaker 2: And then well, if you're in an airplane.
- 25:14Speaker 4: You're trying to ditch. You're trying to make it the land.
- 25:17Speaker 4: And I think he was trying to ditch because I
- 25:19Speaker 4: think he was too far away from land.
- 25:21Speaker 9: All right, Well, I just wanted to say that I
- 25:23Speaker 9: think it's the right because, thank you, I can understand
- 25:26Speaker 9: what you're saying.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Yes, thank you very much. Just when that happens to
- 25:29Speaker 4: your husband or to your father. I know it's funny
- 25:32Speaker 4: on a certain level, but it's also dangerous. That cockpit
- 25:35Speaker 4: is about the size of a VW bug interior fill.
- 25:37Speaker 4: And the next time you see your husband or your
- 25:40Speaker 4: father going through that, ma'am, think of John Kennedy and
- 25:43Speaker 4: remember that it isn't so funny when a man loses
- 25:46Speaker 4: his life.
- 25:47Speaker 7: Well, I see him in that mode.
- 25:49Speaker 9: We also know that it's time to be quiet, and
- 25:51Speaker 9: neither of them.
- 25:52Speaker 4: God, if only you'd been on that plane with John Kennedy,
- 25:56Speaker 4: you would have known to shut up. You know, I
- 25:59Speaker 4: know that's right there. And these women didn't notice shut up.
- 26:03Speaker 4: They kept on about the ear rings and the stockings
- 26:06Speaker 4: and the shoes.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Well, how do you know it was about the shoes
- 26:09Speaker 3: and the stock They had been to a mall.
- 26:11Speaker 4: I'm sure they were talking about their clothes and their
- 26:13Speaker 4: wigs whenever they bought.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Okay, thank you, dere It's Phil Henry Show.
- 26:18Speaker 3: We're with Ark Griego talking about John Kennedy Junior and
- 26:22Speaker 3: the fact that what caused him to crash the plane
- 26:24Speaker 3: in arts opinion is the incessant talking of women in
- 26:28Speaker 3: the airplane. You made the statement that had he been
- 26:31Speaker 3: with a mother in law, he probably would have brought
- 26:33Speaker 3: it down in a populated area.
- 26:34Speaker 4: That's just no doubt in my mind.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Let's go to Oneanna on the Phil Henry Show.
- 26:38Speaker 10: Hello, their thing is the guy says it was assessan
- 26:41Speaker 10: when you first.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Started, it was I corrected myself I said it was.
- 26:44Speaker 10: A well and if I don't hang your hat you
- 26:47Speaker 10: have a pilot. Don't hang your hat on that one
- 26:49Speaker 10: to hear me, because if I was your if I
- 26:51Speaker 10: did your checkout, right, the first thing I do is
- 26:53Speaker 10: kick your ass right off the plane.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Wait a second, don't hang the piper thing on me.
- 26:57Speaker 4: I misspoke, all right.
- 26:59Speaker 10: Miss bowl, that's all. I don't think you're even a pilot.
- 27:01Speaker 10: You got no, I got a bunch of things. For
- 27:03Speaker 10: Another thing is if they were showing clothes and everything, yes,
- 27:07Speaker 10: the only debris that was found there was no supering
- 27:12Speaker 10: on impact. All the clothes would be floating to the
- 27:14Speaker 10: top of the water.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Right. There were suitcases, sir, they found suitcases.
- 27:18Speaker 10: Okay, clothe thing is not out of long. Put in
- 27:23Speaker 10: a suitcase and it will only be about a twenty
- 27:25Speaker 10: minutes light. Third thing is you said he was going
- 27:28Speaker 10: about thirty five hundred RPMs and when.
- 27:30Speaker 4: It hit the I'm saying with the guy that they
- 27:34Speaker 4: found clothing in the suitcases.
- 27:37Speaker 10: Okay. I was there the week before it happened, and
- 27:39Speaker 10: I listened to it all during when it happened.
- 27:41Speaker 4: What do you mean what I mean?
- 27:43Speaker 10: What do you mean you're listening, floating as you perceive.
- 27:46Speaker 4: What do you mean you listen to it?
- 27:48Speaker 10: I wanted on TV and I listened to the news.
- 27:50Speaker 4: I mean, have you alone with women?
- 27:52Speaker 10: If you're even a pilot, have you along with a woman?
- 27:55Speaker 10: All of every every pilot right now is laughing their
- 27:57Speaker 10: ass off. I'm asking you know a thing about what
- 28:00Speaker 10: you're talking.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Where do you vector on us?
- 28:02Speaker 7: Uh?
- 28:03Speaker 4: You vector out of Oniana? Correct? The municipal airport? Correct?
- 28:08Speaker 5: Oh?
- 28:08Speaker 10: I just last last week? You out of Vegetable Say
- 28:12Speaker 10: it again? Where Barnstable Airport, which is on the on
- 28:16Speaker 10: the what's your what's your flight path?
- 28:20Speaker 4: Uh?
- 28:21Speaker 10: You got me by sneakers. We just fly right the
- 28:24Speaker 10: right to Nantucket. And he was coming from Jersey, which
- 28:26Speaker 10: is actually south.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Do you fly? Do you fly to Nantucket? Yes? We
- 28:30Speaker 4: did out of Oniana?
- 28:32Speaker 10: No, out of Barnstable, which is not next to Hyanna's
- 28:37Speaker 10: next to who next to Hyanna's portport?
- 28:40Speaker 4: I know, I'm just I'm just checking to see if
- 28:42Speaker 4: this guy knows where where he is?
- 28:44Speaker 10: Which guy?
- 28:45Speaker 4: You?
- 28:46Speaker 10: I wonder if you know where you are?
- 28:48Speaker 4: You don't even file a flight pan. You're not a
- 28:50Speaker 4: did you file a flight plant?
- 28:52Speaker 6: No?
- 28:52Speaker 4: I don't well then you're not a real pilot.
- 28:54Speaker 10: I'm a student pilot, sir, and that's why.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Oh check it out. I got the student pilot telling
- 28:59Speaker 4: me how. Yes, I let to tell you something. When
- 29:02Speaker 4: you vector out of a place like Long Beach, California,
- 29:06Speaker 4: Santa Monica, I'm black star all the way, Okay, I
- 29:09Speaker 4: I'm sixteen on the high. You don't know what's blackstars? No?
- 29:12Speaker 1: I know?
- 29:13Speaker 4: Okay, you got to sit back and learn number two.
- 29:16Speaker 7: Not from a product fourteen high.
- 29:18Speaker 4: You're fourteen high and you're vectoring out of an east tailwind.
- 29:21Speaker 4: What do you do?
- 29:23Speaker 10: I don't have a clue on what there?
- 29:25Speaker 4: You go go back to school, my friend?
- 29:27Speaker 2: Well what, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 29:29Speaker 4: It doesn't matter. But what does matter is that John
- 29:32Speaker 4: Kennedy be a light today, alive today, if a couple
- 29:35Speaker 4: of women were just to shut up for twenty minutes.
- 29:38Speaker 2: All right, thank you very much.
- 29:41Speaker 4: So I have to fly through lax lax airspace, not
- 29:44Speaker 4: a bunch of cornfields. All right. So that guy I
- 29:47Speaker 4: want to check back in with me when they start
- 29:48Speaker 4: putting some buildings up where he lives.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Here's a guru on the Phil Henry Show. Hello, Hi, hi, ma'am.
- 29:54Speaker 2: How are you?
- 29:55Speaker 11: I'm good, how are you? I just I don't understand
- 29:58Speaker 11: this whole thing about I kind of came in the middle.
- 30:00Speaker 11: But what is the thing about it?
- 30:02Speaker 2: Basically, what if you can reset?
- 30:04Speaker 4: What we're trying to say is that John Kennedy Jr.
- 30:07Speaker 4: There's a very good chance that he was flying with
- 30:10Speaker 4: his wife and with his sister that as soon as
- 30:12Speaker 4: they took off, I'm sure the wife and sisters started
- 30:15Speaker 4: in with the talking. And I don't mean this about
- 30:18Speaker 4: every woman. I'm a married man. I love my wife.
- 30:20Speaker 4: But you fly, you drive, it's the same thing. They're
- 30:24Speaker 4: telling you how to do it. They don't shut up.
- 30:26Speaker 4: I think he reached a point, dear Hyannas, where he
- 30:29Speaker 4: decided to ditch and take his chances on a life raft.
- 30:32Speaker 11: He decided to ditch because he was getting driven crazy
- 30:34Speaker 11: by it.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Because his wife and then they had clothing they just
- 30:37Speaker 4: bought at the mall. They were talking about the wedding,
- 30:40Speaker 4: they were talking about who's going to do the video,
- 30:43Speaker 4: and Kennedy, by all accounts, his fingers tightening on the yoke,
- 30:47Speaker 4: sweat pouring down his face, began to head straight into
- 30:52Speaker 4: the waves. White knuckle flying.
- 30:54Speaker 11: You should be an author, right, the guy he crashedes,
- 30:58Speaker 11: my dad's a pilot. I flew with him all when
- 31:00Speaker 11: I was a little girl, when I was a teenager.
- 31:02Speaker 4: And your father ever crashed with you?
- 31:04Speaker 8: There?
- 31:04Speaker 11: No, my father was excellent, excellent flyers, a policeman, and
- 31:09Speaker 11: you knew.
- 31:09Speaker 4: I bet you knew when to shut up?
- 31:11Speaker 11: You know, you know what he told me? He said,
- 31:13Speaker 11: He said Kennedy crashed because he could not see the horizon.
- 31:16Speaker 11: He wasn't He only had like a hundred hours flying
- 31:19Speaker 11: without instruments, and that's why crashed.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Well, why do you agree, I agreed, because he couldn't
- 31:24Speaker 4: see the horizon because he became disoriented from the vibration,
- 31:28Speaker 4: from the droning sound of the wife's voice.
- 31:31Speaker 5: He would have to be.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Yingy and all of that crap, and finally he went insane.
- 31:39Speaker 11: You know what, My opinion is that you obviously have
- 31:42Speaker 11: a problem with women and their chatting, no man, but
- 31:45Speaker 11: I don't.
- 31:46Speaker 4: I got a problem with a lot of empty conversation
- 31:48Speaker 4: about shoes, especially when you're an aircraft.
- 31:51Speaker 11: And you think Kennedy would have married a woman that
- 31:53Speaker 11: he thought always I don't think.
- 31:55Speaker 4: That he minded her on the ground. I think up
