- 0:52Speaker 1: And coming to you live from the Studentsman's Sports Complex
- 0:56Speaker 1: right next to the Kenny Weste band camp for Rest
- 1:00Speaker 1: Instruments only. This is our season four recap, right before
- 1:05Speaker 1: we go into hiatus for a couple of weeks. And
- 1:13Speaker 1: I'm glad Kenny and Engage made it back from the
- 1:17Speaker 1: weast Griswold family vacation.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It is Sports Allegedly.
- 1:22Speaker 3: We welcome, Welcome, thank you all for joining us this
- 1:25Speaker 3: episode of Sports Allegedly. Right Gange to my left, I'm Kenny,
- 1:30Speaker 3: of course.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm surprised Gauge is with us.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We guys bitched about his grandpa wanting him at the
- 1:36Speaker 1: house and his Grandpa's like you over there.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Okay, We've got obviously World Cup news to talk about.
- 1:44Speaker 3: That's been the big sports Uh, it's been obviously news
- 1:47Speaker 3: for especially American signs. And then we'll talk a little
- 1:51Speaker 3: bit baseball standings before and then we'll preview what our
- 1:55Speaker 3: summer looks like as far as the previews, getting into
- 1:58Speaker 3: football because we're closed, but let's open, uh with basketball
- 2:03Speaker 3: has been the NBA trading for the past two weeks
- 2:07Speaker 3: has been unbelievable. There has been there has been lots
- 2:10Speaker 3: of thank you for the people that are watching live
- 2:13Speaker 3: and then but there's been there's.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Well i'm reverse bold from you.
- 2:17Speaker 3: So we've been multiple, multiple, multiple trades. This has been
- 2:22Speaker 3: one of the more I don't.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Know, this has been multiple good trades. It's been it's
- 2:26Speaker 1: been a lot of craziness.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Well, I think it's all these teams are afraid. You know,
- 2:31Speaker 3: they have signed these mid level players and I say
- 2:34Speaker 3: mid level, you're talking fifteen to twenty five, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 3: top NBA players and they've signed these huge contracts. Well,
- 2:39Speaker 3: it's like, what are the Celtics doing Because we'll talk
- 2:42Speaker 3: about them. We ain't talk about the class because that
- 2:44Speaker 3: was the biggest one.
- 2:45Speaker 1: No no Apa and a Toco and Gainnis Gannis and
- 2:50Speaker 1: Catapo and uh Jannis.
- 2:54Speaker 2: He was the biggest thing that happened.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think Jaylen Brown is bigger,
- 2:58Speaker 3: but we'll talk about them. I think jayleb Brown, and
- 3:00Speaker 3: I think what makes it bigger is because what a
- 3:02Speaker 3: weird trade it was and what they got it in return.
- 3:05Speaker 3: But I think getting back to what I started talking
- 3:08Speaker 3: about is I think all these teams are trying to
- 3:09Speaker 3: get under the second apron because the tax is so
- 3:12Speaker 3: big and that's exactly why you've seen the local team
- 3:15Speaker 3: that never dated a girl with the second apron, Oklahoma
- 3:18Speaker 3: City Thunder, you know, traded Wiggins Hartenstein.
- 3:24Speaker 2: They know they re signed Stein.
- 3:26Speaker 3: They signed him. Wiggins and Joe are gone. Uh. And
- 3:30Speaker 3: and they picked up Dort's option. But potential that the
- 3:32Speaker 3: news there is they still could trade him. Yeah. No,
- 3:35Speaker 3: it was cheaper the team that would pick him up.
- 3:37Speaker 3: But the tax is how the NBA has this weird
- 3:40Speaker 3: salary cap aprons and taxes.
- 3:43Speaker 1: And currently looking currently looking at at ESPN with what
- 3:48Speaker 1: they had what they call the off season moves they started,
- 3:53Speaker 1: you know, Kawhi Leonard, it was was big on the board,
- 3:57Speaker 1: on a on a catopo, Jalen Brown, all that was
- 4:00Speaker 1: was really big.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And you know where is Lebron gonna end up? Yeah?
- 4:06Speaker 2: You texted me that and I was like, who cares?
- 4:09Speaker 3: So? Uh?
- 4:11Speaker 1: As of July eighth, when hers says, if the Calves
- 4:13Speaker 1: move stress, it can make room for Lebron to come
- 4:18Speaker 1: back to the Cavaliers, which I don't know.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I don't see him trying because.
- 4:22Speaker 1: He's got his home and everything there in La. I
- 4:24Speaker 1: don't see him trying to come back to Cleveland to
- 4:26Speaker 1: finish out his career.
- 4:28Speaker 3: But he goes the heat.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I could see the heat or the or the h
- 4:34Speaker 1: Golden State.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Okay, so allegedly Golden State's out, are they? Yes? Well,
- 4:39Speaker 3: they started out strong and I kind of thought that too.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna say, as of but they said the interest
- 4:45Speaker 3: on them has dropped, is wayne? Yes?
- 4:48Speaker 1: So so as of July eighth, you know, Larry Nance
- 4:51Speaker 1: has signed a one year deal with the Pacers. Steph
- 4:55Speaker 1: wants to team up with Lebron. They've talked about it
- 4:59Speaker 1: on the golf course, is what this says, but nothing
- 5:03Speaker 1: has actually happened. We're looking at Middleton was moved by
- 5:08Speaker 1: the Wizards or the Wizards moved to a choir Middleton
- 5:11Speaker 1: in a sixteen sign and trade deal.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Sorry, well, some of these you're gonna have a lot
- 5:19Speaker 3: of them that really I really are interested. I think
- 5:21Speaker 3: let's talk about more interesting ones. June thirty, that was
- 5:24Speaker 3: announced that Raptors have traded for Kawhi Lenner. Now Raptors
- 5:30Speaker 3: got Kawhi Lennard and the Clippers got Ingram and Grady Dick.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Remember Grady from Kansas won a dumb pick. I was
- 5:35Speaker 3: looking at his stats. I was like just another my
- 5:38Speaker 3: surprise surprise is still the numbers. Moving on from Kawhi.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Here's the deal. They got two unprotected first round picks,
- 5:44Speaker 3: one pick swap in two seconds. That's huge because Kawhi
- 5:49Speaker 3: hasn't always been the most healthy. But it was great
- 5:51Speaker 3: for the Raptors because they're a team that's been mid
- 5:54Speaker 3: as well. But don't forget that the Thunder have one
- 5:57Speaker 3: Morse draft swap from them in twenty twenty seven.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Correct, And you remember the Raptors were only relevant with
- 6:04Speaker 1: Kawhi Leonard, Well, yeah, I have been and that was
- 6:08Speaker 1: that was the one time that they won. But they
- 6:10Speaker 1: but they take Kwai immediately moved over to the Clippers,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and the Clippers he didn't do anything with the Clippers.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Well, we'll talk about Paul George leaving too, because he
- 6:17Speaker 3: was part of that Chicago no politics. Yes, because he
- 6:22Speaker 3: was part of That's how Thunder got all their picks, right,
- 6:24Speaker 3: He gas them too.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Wanted to chee upland Cleveland has re signed Donovan Mitchell
- 6:29Speaker 1: to a four year, two hundred and seventy three million
- 6:33Speaker 1: maximum extension contract, which is good for them because I mean,
- 6:37Speaker 1: Donovan Mitchell's been really good for them.
- 6:40Speaker 2: He's he's made them relevant.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Well and their their correct contract is crazy though, because
- 6:44Speaker 3: this last three years he makes seventy.
- 6:47Speaker 1: One of my favorite things was, oh, you remember all
- 6:50Speaker 1: the guys that the Bulls sent the the Sacrament of Kings.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Rosen and Uh and Levine I think, but
- 6:59Speaker 1: Levine's where's Levin?
- 7:01Speaker 3: Levine's moved or Tomorrow.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Rosen something I remember something happened recently, like and so
- 7:08Speaker 1: that they're splitting the team up, they're getting rid of
- 7:10Speaker 1: they're going young again.
- 7:12Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So Levine and Tomorrowsen played with the Bulls made the
- 7:15Speaker 1: Bulls relevant and you know, mid relevant, not like relevant relevant.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Like tenth place and playoff relevant. Playing No, I think
- 7:22Speaker 3: we made seven. I don't ever think we made it.
- 7:25Speaker 3: We might have made it one time. The Bulls might
- 7:28Speaker 3: have made it one time too, getting past the play
- 7:32Speaker 3: in with those two. So the going back to h Yeah,
- 7:39Speaker 3: and they generally they're like they're one of those mid
- 7:43Speaker 3: teams always. They haven't been good since Chris Weaver. I think.
- 7:46Speaker 2: No.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Paul George waved his trade bonus UH to get signed
- 7:53Speaker 1: by the by the Boston Celtics.
- 7:56Speaker 3: That's part of the Jalen Brown deals. So another one
- 7:59Speaker 3: that I noticed that was quietly done as job Morant
- 8:01Speaker 3: was traded.
- 8:01Speaker 1: To Portland was waved so Rosen is able to go
- 8:06Speaker 1: free agency.
- 8:07Speaker 3: So jaw was uh traded to the King or the
- 8:11Speaker 3: sorry the Portland Trailblazers. And then and then Memphis turns around.
- 8:17Speaker 1: No, no, Moran they wanted to get Memphis wanted to
- 8:20Speaker 1: get rid of Morant for a while.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Chargers and then he has his he's guy had surgery
- 8:25Speaker 3: on his labor or something. Yeah, yeah, he ended up
- 8:28Speaker 3: getting injured. Memphis got Jeremy Grant Brat who used to
- 8:31Speaker 3: be in a thunder guy and and Jeremy was an
- 8:36Speaker 3: actually in Chris Murray but oh you was Actually he
- 8:38Speaker 3: averaged like eighteen points. I think Jeremy did, so he's
- 8:40Speaker 3: still a score. And Portland wasn't very good. But joab
- 8:43Speaker 3: ran at least if he can stay healthy and stay
- 8:47Speaker 3: normal on the outside world, Uh, that would be Uh.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Now he's declined obviously in level. He's not what he
- 8:54Speaker 3: once was, but that could be a pickup. And Portland
- 8:58Speaker 3: didn't have to give up any draft picks. No, or
- 9:00Speaker 3: if you look on the same breath, Memphis didn't have
- 9:03Speaker 3: to send any with him, so it was just kind
- 9:06Speaker 3: of worked out how that went.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Andre Drummond signing with the Knicks, which is crazy. You know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I sent you that text about Andre Drummond going there
- 9:16Speaker 1: for one year.
- 9:17Speaker 3: They got rid of they got rid of Mitchell Robinson.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Well I know they got rid of Mitchell Robinson, but
- 9:21Speaker 3: because they didn't. He break his head in the playoffs
- 9:23Speaker 3: or something. Remember he was during the playoffs. He hit
- 9:25Speaker 3: something or backboard. Did he like co up or something? No,
- 9:28Speaker 3: that was the guy from the Was he the Lakers
- 9:31Speaker 3: or something that jammed his finger. No, he touched something
- 9:34Speaker 3: or somebody. Yes, yes, And.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Drum Andre Drummen is known nick and.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Obviously don't need him. No Mitchell Man.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but Andre Drummond nab being a Nick makes
- 9:45Speaker 1: them even you know, heavier favorites for winning next season.
- 9:51Speaker 3: So I've reviewed all these trades. Goofy one I saw
- 9:55Speaker 3: was and we'll talk the Hornets had two big trades.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Your Hornets made a playoffs.
- 9:59Speaker 2: So yeah, so the Hornet lamellow.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Let's talk about that one second. Let's talk about this
- 10:03Speaker 3: one first. Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neil i don't know. Yeah,
- 10:09Speaker 3: he's that's that's Phoenix. This is Phoenix's guy. This is
- 10:12Speaker 3: who Charlotte's getting.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Grayson.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Remember he's kind of the kind of they call him
- 10:17Speaker 3: a little dirty, little thuggy white yet dude. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 3: very young in the face too. Okay, So the Phoenix,
- 10:29Speaker 3: Charlotte gets him and Royce O'Neil. I don't know anything
- 10:32Speaker 3: about Royce and he and they and they get a
- 10:35Speaker 3: twenty thirty three unprotected first from Elak Bridges.
- 10:41Speaker 2: What that sounds good?
- 10:44Speaker 3: I mean, it's a it's a Bridges. Yeah, Malik Bridges
- 10:48Speaker 3: is really good. Now, they had to send some picks
- 10:50Speaker 3: because they had one. Phoenix did get a twenty twenty
- 10:53Speaker 3: nine first round pick back from them, but it was
- 10:56Speaker 3: the least favorable of Charlotte, Utah, Cleveland, and Minnesota. Well, shit,
- 11:01Speaker 3: you know Minnesota's going to be there. You know. My
- 11:03Speaker 3: favorite thing twenty twenty.
- 11:04Speaker 1: My favorite thing is the fact that Chicago's not involved
- 11:07Speaker 1: in any of these stupid deals right now.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Well, that means they're really working hard and not doing
- 11:10Speaker 3: any well. No, they're they're really working hard to keep on. No.
- 11:16Speaker 1: No, they sent they sent not LaMelo, they sent the
- 11:20Speaker 1: other Lamar, they sent him to Charlotte, so Charlotte still
- 11:24Speaker 1: has Lamar.
- 11:27Speaker 3: So the so the Sons did get a couple of
- 11:28Speaker 3: picks back, but not a twenty three unprotected Phoenix could
- 11:31Speaker 3: be hammered shity thirty three. But they're probably planning on
- 11:35Speaker 3: this tanking role changing and everything else. That's what I
- 11:37Speaker 3: think some of these they're stretching these picks way out.
- 11:41Speaker 3: But let's go back to Charlotte, a playoff team, Charlotte
- 11:45Speaker 3: Hornets Chicago. So they get rid of Grayson Allen or
- 11:49Speaker 3: I'm sorry, they get rid of Miles Bridges. And then
- 11:51Speaker 3: they turn around and they get rid of Lamello and.
- 11:54Speaker 1: So so right here, right here, I'm looking at the transaction.
- 11:57Speaker 1: On Monday, July sixth, the Hornets signed hannahs stein Steinenbach
- 12:06Speaker 1: and uh And and guard Christian Anderson to rookie skill contracts.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Re signed Kobe Kobe White, who's a good player, to
- 12:15Speaker 1: a contract signed guard's Michael I, J Why am I
- 12:22Speaker 1: saying his name wrong?
- 12:24Speaker 3: Ja?
- 12:25Speaker 1: Ja?
- 12:26Speaker 3: I think it's it's a GI. I don't know.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's no, I know a GI. You know a giant?
- 12:32Speaker 1: You actually do know who is? And Calen Boswell the
- 12:34Speaker 1: two way contracts. They waived Thompson Mama and acquired uh,
- 12:41Speaker 1: Dorian Finney Smith and that was Ree's second round picks
- 12:45Speaker 1: from Houston. Okay, so in exchange for cast and cast
- 12:49Speaker 1: and shiperation.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah, so they got Dorian Finney Smith and they got
- 12:53Speaker 3: three second round picks and what and it's VAM Memphis
- 12:57Speaker 3: and Houston. Thirty three? Is the Rockets just got a
- 13:02Speaker 3: trade exception. That's it. Thirteen May. It's huge, but that's
- 13:06Speaker 3: a huge trade exception, right, But is that? So what
- 13:11Speaker 3: the Rockets are doing is.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Is that is that twenty seven and twenty nine? Is
- 13:17Speaker 1: that the is that the three second room?
- 13:18Speaker 3: No, it's that that would be yeah, twenty seven, twenty
- 13:21Speaker 3: eight and thirty three. Oh okay, last one was three. Okay,
- 13:25Speaker 3: so they jumped ahead. But but they were Dory Finney Smith.
- 13:29Speaker 3: They picked him up because the salary was a little
- 13:31Speaker 3: bit higher, but they obviously Charlotte could afford it, and uh,
- 13:35Speaker 3: he only had he only he made forty three, He
- 13:38Speaker 3: averaged only three point three game just after a year
- 13:40Speaker 3: after he was eight seven three. But they got Marcus Smart,
- 13:46Speaker 3: so you know, obviously markets Marcus is there.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Like Marcus Smart.
- 13:49Speaker 3: So.
- 13:50Speaker 2: But here's here's one thing.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Oklahoma City acquired draft considerations from Atlanta Hawks for Aaron Wiggins.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, was was wiggans worth what we got.
- 14:02Speaker 3: We got two seconds and then we turn around and
- 14:05Speaker 3: trade it up to get the kid from Iowa and
- 14:07Speaker 3: give up two seconds. It was kind of a but
- 14:11Speaker 3: that one was good. And then we'll get to the
- 14:13Speaker 3: ball trade because the Hornets obviously were very.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Uh six ers six Ers signed uh Anthony Simmons, which
- 14:23Speaker 1: is which was really good, and Dean Wade to contracts
- 14:27Speaker 1: and acquired Jalen Brown from the Celtics and signed Ariel.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I don't know who that guy is.
- 14:36Speaker 3: It's a weird center. Yeah, it was early. It was.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It was mid June. Wasn't it late June?
- 14:45Speaker 3: We can talk about it was. It was before so
- 14:49Speaker 3: that the Hornets last big deal as they traded. They
- 14:51Speaker 3: surprised everybody because they started early. They got rid of
- 14:53Speaker 3: Lamel but and they give him to the Timberwolves. Who
- 14:58Speaker 3: the Timberwolves are there that? I mean, they're a team
- 15:00Speaker 3: that's got to go now. They've got maybe two years.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I don't Anthony ANDAs is great, but go go. Bear
- 15:05Speaker 3: is older so they're thinking, Okay, get a ball mover
- 15:08Speaker 3: in LaMelo and your backcourt's pretty good. Can he share
- 15:13Speaker 3: the ball because he does like to hog the ball.
- 15:15Speaker 3: So Minnesota gets Lavella ball and Josh Green that Charlotte
- 15:19Speaker 3: Hornets gets nas Reed, which is great. I love that
- 15:22Speaker 3: player used to be I believe it Dallas. And then
- 15:25Speaker 3: Charlotte gets a twenty twenty three unprotected first round pick.
- 15:30Speaker 3: And then they got three pick swaps, which I don't
- 15:32Speaker 3: think that means much. Twenty eight, twenty nine, and thirty.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Minnesota's going to be better than them, so I don't
- 15:36Speaker 3: think that means a whole lot. And then three second
- 15:39Speaker 3: round picks nine to thirty two and thirty three.
- 15:41Speaker 1: All right, so unparticular, here's the one thing that the
- 15:44Speaker 1: Heat have done to fix themselves. They re signed Wiggins
- 15:49Speaker 1: to a veteran extension. I don't know how much that is.
- 15:54Speaker 1: They acquire Anikatopo and Bobby Portis, which are two good players.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I do actually like Bobby Porters from the Bucks in
- 16:03Speaker 1: exchange for Harrow and two of the guys I've never
- 16:07Speaker 1: heard of. Oh wait, three of the guys I've never
- 16:09Speaker 1: heard of, and draft considerations and then they signed Hardaway
- 16:14Speaker 1: Junior to a contract.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw he come back on it small, He's
- 16:19Speaker 3: probably going to be.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I think that they I think that I think that
- 16:24Speaker 1: the Heat. Yes, they want to try to be a contender,
- 16:27Speaker 1: but they're going to end up being a number seven,
- 16:31Speaker 1: a number sixteen maybe in the playoffs.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Let's just talk about the number one seed Eastern team,
- 16:39Speaker 3: the Knicks. Now it's Philadelphia by far.
- 16:42Speaker 1: You think Philadelphia's just made the moves. Yes, you know
- 16:46Speaker 1: they that the Knicks.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Are gonna go.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Anthonty Simon's you got I get it.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I guess Brown Brown being injured. You didn't know he.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Was the MVP consideration last year. Boston, Boston, it was
- 16:58Speaker 3: taking comes back. They didn't win against the Knicks. They
- 17:02Speaker 3: lost the Knicks in the playoffs. I mean they are
- 17:04Speaker 3: worthy eventual champion. Was it or no? Did they lose
- 17:07Speaker 3: to Philly? Who? No, Philly lost to the Knicks, I
- 17:11Speaker 3: believe in the playoffs? Yes? Or was it Boston? Hold on,
- 17:15Speaker 3: let's gold look at that, but no, let's talk well
- 17:18Speaker 3: you're looking at that because I want to say Boston.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Or was it the Cavaliers, because didn't the Calves make
- 17:26Speaker 3: an interesting run? To the Eastern Difference Championship against the Knicks,
- 17:31Speaker 3: or was because it wasn't Philly that played him. So
- 17:36Speaker 3: there we go right there.
- 17:37Speaker 2: All right?
- 17:37Speaker 1: So the Cavaliers ended up beating out the Raptors, the
- 17:41Speaker 1: Knicks beat the Hawks, and the Sixers beat the Celtics.
- 17:43Speaker 3: The Sixers beat then the Knicks beat out the Sixers.
- 17:46Speaker 1: The Sixers, I forgot about the Hawks, but it took
- 17:49Speaker 1: did it take them six games or did they run
- 17:53Speaker 1: through that when I forgot?
- 17:55Speaker 3: Well you remember the remember Hawks went up on the
- 17:57Speaker 3: Knicks like two to one or something and then they
- 17:59Speaker 3: just turned earned it on after that. But so the Sixers,
- 18:03Speaker 3: I'm sorry, the Sixers meat the Celtics, not the Knicks.
- 18:06Speaker 3: But you look at as far as the Oh, there's
- 18:11Speaker 3: Zach Colvine right there, sewn. I just ran across him.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Should do. Yeah, I don't know where you are, but
- 18:22Speaker 3: let me go back and I'll find this. Sorry, I
- 18:24Speaker 3: lost my spot on the Jalen Brow trade because you
- 18:28Speaker 3: thought Giannis was the biggest one. I thought this one
- 18:30Speaker 3: was the biggest one, simply because of how the trade
- 18:32Speaker 3: went down and how I really think that one of
- 18:35Speaker 3: the best, one of the best teams that has been
- 18:39Speaker 3: the best for the past decade ish, maybe not quite
- 18:42Speaker 3: a decade, eight years or so is Boston And I
- 18:46Speaker 3: don't I don't know. I don't think they got better.
- 18:48Speaker 2: No, the next eliminated the Sixers and four days.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because remember that second game was real close,
- 18:55Speaker 3: and it's like they went to ship after that.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Right as of the the Sixers had eliminated Boston in seven.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Oh, took him seven. See that's not bad. No, but
- 19:09Speaker 3: that was the it was panic mode because they didn't
- 19:11Speaker 3: win there all right, So that was my big trade thought.
- 19:14Speaker 3: July one Celtics trade Jalen Brown was Sixers for Paul George.
- 19:18Speaker 3: So Celtics get Paul George, which I believe he's on
- 19:21Speaker 3: an expiring contract after next year or maybe one more.
- 19:24Speaker 3: They get a twenty twenty eight first round pick, which
- 19:27Speaker 3: convert to a pick swap. The Philly's gonna be good,
- 19:31Speaker 3: so it's not gonna be a great pick. They get
- 19:33Speaker 3: a twenty twenty twenty thirty one first round pick unprotected.
- 19:38Speaker 3: That one could be juicy in the future because that's
- 19:40Speaker 3: based down MB might not stay healthy forever and h
- 19:47Speaker 3: and at twenty eight twenty so sorry, twenty eight and
- 19:49Speaker 3: thirty second round picks and Boston heavy Sixer's got Jalen.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I just thought, when you look at the team statistic
- 19:55Speaker 3: and I know, I know the Celtics are gonna make
- 19:57Speaker 3: a little bit more moves because they're gonna have a
- 19:59Speaker 3: little money now to play with. But you essentially swapped
- 20:04Speaker 3: Jalen Brown for Paul George. I don't think that makes
- 20:06Speaker 3: you better next year in my opinion. No, obviously, Tatum
- 20:12Speaker 3: is very good, one of the more talented, but you
- 20:14Speaker 3: knew this day was coming, and I really think one
- 20:17Speaker 3: of them, yes, and I really think it was a
- 20:19Speaker 3: money It came down to some money issues as well.
- 20:23Speaker 3: If there's something we're missing, I don't know. I mean,
- 20:25Speaker 3: I was listening to the Bob Bryan, he's one of
- 20:27Speaker 3: my favorite from the Boston Globe. He was doing a
- 20:30Speaker 3: radio interview the other day and I was listening to him,
- 20:31Speaker 3: and you know, he was just fanatical about it, you know,
- 20:34Speaker 3: and he's like, they ain't gonna you know, the only
- 20:36Speaker 3: way they're gonna make this trade look reliable is if
- 20:39Speaker 3: they win fifty something games next year. And he said,
- 20:41Speaker 3: and it doesn't make them better, Yeah, you know, it
- 20:44Speaker 3: doesn't make him better.
- 20:45Speaker 2: But no.
- 20:45Speaker 3: But if you remember when Tatum was out and got hurt,
- 20:47Speaker 3: this was the year that Boston was going to be
- 20:49Speaker 3: in the lottery pig. They were talking lottery and Jalen
- 20:53Speaker 3: Brown played his ass off this year and their coach
- 20:56Speaker 3: won Coach of the Year, I believe because they were
- 20:58Speaker 3: the two seed. Yeah, and it didn't work out well
- 21:00Speaker 3: in the playoffs because they don't have a good big man.
- 21:04Speaker 3: You brought anybody in for the Celtics to well, Pingus
- 21:09Speaker 3: is gone, he left as well. No, they have you,
- 21:13Speaker 3: have you Marcus Smart they got rid of you know,
- 21:15Speaker 3: he was.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Have you one of those guys in because it wouldn't
- 21:18Speaker 1: smart on the wouldn't smart on the championship.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Yes, and that guy was originally a Celtic and I
- 21:24Speaker 3: thought he brought the toughness to that team. I really did.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Always good on defense, not a big score. You're talking
- 21:31Speaker 3: about NBA and toughness. There's no toughness anymore.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I think he you don't have.
- 21:35Speaker 3: You don't have Barkley, you don't have Jordan. He's one
- 21:39Speaker 3: of the few remaining ones.
- 21:40Speaker 1: You don't have you and you don't have you don't
- 21:42Speaker 1: have Stacey king R. I p you don't have you
- 21:47Speaker 1: don't have toughness anymore. You don't have Larry Bird out
- 21:49Speaker 1: there telling a guy what he's gonna do and then
- 21:51Speaker 1: do it and right in front of him.
- 21:53Speaker 3: No. I get all that, but I'm just saying for
- 21:55Speaker 3: this type, you know, sometimes.
- 21:56Speaker 2: For this NBA.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I get it. I mean we watched Be
- 22:00Speaker 3: a Bitch in the in the playoffs. He tried to Oh,
- 22:04Speaker 3: I know, Bias Harris was a good pick up for
- 22:06Speaker 3: them though, And we talked that before we left. And
- 22:08Speaker 3: I wish Castle.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I wish Castle and the Castle and who else on
- 22:14Speaker 1: the Spurs team.
- 22:15Speaker 3: I like those two. Now he's on the Nicks. It's
- 22:20Speaker 3: it's the old yeah. And and I liked Ron Hunters kid,
- 22:24Speaker 3: isn't it isn't.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So I think so.
- 22:29Speaker 3: But I liked him without him, he was the sixth man.
- 22:32Speaker 2: You know, they won without him.
- 22:33Speaker 3: They did better without him.
- 22:36Speaker 1: No, you remember they won the Get They won that
- 22:38Speaker 1: game without him because he got pulled early.
- 22:40Speaker 3: But but the well, yeah, but the other game that
- 22:43Speaker 3: he got kicked out, he lost against the Thunder. But
- 22:47Speaker 3: that was a thunder. I mean, I'm kind of wondering what,
- 22:49Speaker 3: you know, just locally, what what are the thunder going
- 22:52Speaker 3: to do anything. I don't think we have the money.
- 22:53Speaker 3: We're getting rid of people and we're bringing all these
- 22:55Speaker 3: young Yeah, you're gonna you're gonna have to see jay Williams.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Cloma City is still going off draft picks and you know,
- 23:03Speaker 3: and youth and Jayla Williams is going to have to
- 23:05Speaker 3: stay healthy for this team to do anything because we're not.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Now we're gonna play the big guy, the youngster. You
- 23:10Speaker 3: know that we drafted the seven footer from Spain. He's
- 23:13Speaker 3: been doing good, but I haven't said, but.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Is it him? Is it him? Been doing good? In Ja?
- 23:18Speaker 3: The kid from Kansas has been doing but I mean it's.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Remember there was an article.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I remember there was an article. They were losing like
- 23:26Speaker 3: my thirty points. Last time I saw WHIM they were
- 23:28Speaker 3: playing Utah. Yeah, a couple of days ago, maybe yesterday.
- 23:31Speaker 3: But you can't watch that ship and it's like, you know,
- 23:36Speaker 3: it's like you watching No, no, it's not. It's it's
- 23:39Speaker 3: not even good college teams because you know, you do
- 23:42Speaker 3: have some of the lower end kids that how they're
- 23:45Speaker 3: still on a team. You know, it's not even like
- 23:49Speaker 3: the good good. It definitely doesn't have excitement. There's a
- 23:53Speaker 3: ball updates, So right now we're waiting on le brawn
- 23:56Speaker 3: teams that we talked about. It looks like he gauge
- 23:59Speaker 3: said out there was two more? Who was it? One
- 24:07Speaker 3: of them? Was kind of interesting if they would have lost?
- 24:12Speaker 3: Rumor has it if the Knicks would have lost the championship,
- 24:15Speaker 3: that was his choice. But they want so now you
- 24:18Speaker 3: can't look like a hero because they already wanted.
- 24:22Speaker 2: What about.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Would you think he comes to the West. It seems
- 24:28Speaker 3: like he's, oh, the first are one of them? They were?
- 24:31Speaker 3: They were an option. I don't see that because he
- 24:34Speaker 3: almost looks like Durant there, you know, just hop it
- 24:37Speaker 3: on a winner. I think he goes back to, oh
- 24:44Speaker 3: the heat is more talented. I think, I mean, I
- 24:51Speaker 3: like Donovan Mitchell, but but you got what's his face?
- 24:54Speaker 3: What's the guy from Oklahoma? That's kind of a drag
- 24:56Speaker 3: at times of the beard, the bearded, wonder why am
- 25:00Speaker 3: I not thinking? No? For the calves? He spit the
- 25:04Speaker 3: thunder the beard, James Harden, James Hardens there he wasn't
- 25:09Speaker 3: he was the Sixers. He wasn't Hardened on the Sixers.
- 25:13Speaker 3: My way off here Hardens on the sixers. It's not
- 25:18Speaker 3: on the heat. I didn't say he calves. Oh yeah,
- 25:21Speaker 3: he is on the caves. Yeah, yeah he was.
- 25:25Speaker 2: He was sixers nose.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Yeah. A long time ago we drafted him.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Harden.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Uh, that's when we had Durant, Westbrook and Westbrook. Yeah,
- 25:34Speaker 3: they were the big three, and.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Then took us, took.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Us to the playoffs.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Realized that those three couldn't play together because they all
- 25:42Speaker 1: wanted to be the big man on the court, and
- 25:47Speaker 1: started getting rid of.
- 25:47Speaker 3: The rumor is they cheap at Harden's contract? And he
- 25:50Speaker 3: was like, all right, I'm going to Houston still and
- 25:53Speaker 3: make gazillions.
- 25:54Speaker 1: But still, but still those three couldn't and they still
- 25:57Speaker 1: won't play together. I think Uh no, I think Rant
- 26:00Speaker 1: and Harden have played together since then?
- 26:02Speaker 3: Or is it Westbrook and Hardened to played together?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Only two of him? Only two of them have played
- 26:07Speaker 2: together since then.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Yeah, did Durant come over when Harden was still at
- 26:12Speaker 3: hot Houston. He hadn't been there that long though it
- 26:16Speaker 3: was in Houston. It was in Houston. It would be
- 26:18Speaker 3: a good thing to research. He's right there. He didn't
- 26:24Speaker 3: have a computer phone and a new one Newish one.
- 26:30Speaker 3: By the way, Megan, get Kenny a new phone. All right,
- 26:35Speaker 3: let's go to World Cup. Are you now go to NHL?
- 26:39Speaker 3: You can take that.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Uh, the NHL has been crazy this season.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Uh. We know the Buffalo Sabers. We did talk about
- 26:45Speaker 1: this two weeks ago, I think it was, and there
- 26:49Speaker 1: are trades of you know, because they're a young team.
- 26:52Speaker 1: We so we talked about them. The weird thing that
- 26:56Speaker 1: has happened is the Florida Panthers have let their goalie Bobrowski,
- 27:03Speaker 1: who won two titles with.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Them, go.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I forgot where he ended up. I'd have to click
- 27:10Speaker 1: on his name here real quick. See where he is now.
- 27:15Speaker 1: He's in the sixteenth season Toronto Maple Leafs. So let
- 27:21Speaker 1: Bobrowski go to the Maple Leafs.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Okay, go ahead and finish. I found the basketball tribute,
- 27:27Speaker 3: but go ahead. It was no, okay, you guys were
- 27:30Speaker 3: kind of right and kind of wrong. I mean it
- 27:32Speaker 3: was right, but it's just wrong team. So Westbrook and
- 27:34Speaker 3: Harden played one year at the Rockets. Rockets, Yeah, was it, Durant, Yes,
- 27:38Speaker 3: well you said Durant. Oh, and and again played for
- 27:42Speaker 3: parts of one season at the Clippers in twenty three
- 27:45Speaker 3: and twenty four. That was the end of Harden. Durant
- 27:49Speaker 3: and Harden played together for two years and I forgot
- 27:54Speaker 3: about this at the nets when he was there.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I completely forgot about that, which everybody watching Gerty.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Was there, I think was he a nuts guy?
- 28:07Speaker 1: Montreal Canadians have let Kirby dash go, who is one
- 28:10Speaker 1: of the one of the better forwards in the league.
- 28:14Speaker 1: He started with Chicago Blackhawks, and I wish the Blackhawks
- 28:17Speaker 1: had never let him go. I'm looking for well, no, no,
- 28:23Speaker 1: I'm trying.
- 28:24Speaker 2: I'm trying.
- 28:24Speaker 3: I'm trying.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I'm trying to find it because uh dor Fiav, as
- 28:28Speaker 1: everybody heard during the playoffs, Dorfiav, who played for the
- 28:33Speaker 1: Golden Knights, who was one of my favorite players.
- 28:35Speaker 3: He's he's on the Rangers now, which is crazy.
- 28:40Speaker 1: And I never thought that you would let your one
- 28:42Speaker 1: of your higher scores, younger higher scores go.
- 28:47Speaker 3: But the Golden Knights let him go. Well, they're so
- 28:50Speaker 3: good though they don't need him.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Frederick Anderson left the Hurricane after he won the NHL.
- 29:00Speaker 1: He's not with the Edmundon Oilers as the goalie.
- 29:03Speaker 3: That's where he went. He would Edmund did you talk
- 29:05Speaker 3: about in that trade with the talked about it, We talked,
- 29:10Speaker 3: we talked about it a couple of weeks ago. Because
- 29:11Speaker 3: the word they used fast wait for the black Hawks,
- 29:15Speaker 3: now for the Savers.
- 29:17Speaker 2: The Savers got fleeced.
- 29:18Speaker 3: No, you guys got fleet and I was talking more
- 29:22Speaker 3: about not as I was talking about more as as
- 29:25Speaker 3: a furbiage.
- 29:26Speaker 1: They them, Yeah, no, no, black Owks got fleeced. So
- 29:29Speaker 1: the black Hawks are banking on the Byron to the
- 29:33Speaker 1: black right, and the black Hawks are banking on him
- 29:36Speaker 1: to make the uh uh barberschef.
- 29:40Speaker 2: And then too sch left.
- 29:41Speaker 3: You talked about that.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, our young kid on the black Hawks, they're
- 29:47Speaker 1: they're they're talking about making him better.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I forgot the kid's name.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I really talking about.
- 29:55Speaker 1: No, no, no, it's he's he's our captain, he's he's
- 29:58Speaker 1: our center.
- 30:00Speaker 3: He's really good. Well, the Blackhawks give up the fourth
- 30:03Speaker 3: pick in the draft.
- 30:04Speaker 1: They did, they did for this, and and yes, the
- 30:07Speaker 1: black Hawks did get fleeced for that. I'm just running through,
- 30:12Speaker 1: running through, I'm running through looking looking for h.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Adam Babquist.
- 30:21Speaker 1: You know, he became an understickted free agent off the Islanders.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I think the Islanders are are have gone downhill because
- 30:28Speaker 1: they didn't do anything.
- 30:29Speaker 3: They fired Wall too. It's like, right, they had a
- 30:33Speaker 3: winning record, he almost made the playoffs.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I don't know who the ownership for that them are.
- 30:40Speaker 1: So Jonathan Quick retired this season. That's why they That's
- 30:43Speaker 1: why the Rangers. Rangers are looking for goalie help because
- 30:49Speaker 1: Johnny Quick was a one time, two time Stanley Cup
- 30:52Speaker 1: winning the draft.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Their drafts already happened, the NHL already has. NHL has
- 30:59Speaker 3: already happened. So did they did they feel like?
- 31:02Speaker 1: Did they feel like Philly's Drysdale Jamie Drysdale.
- 31:06Speaker 3: I believe he went.
- 31:09Speaker 1: He's he's still with the Flyers.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Flyers, let somebody go. God.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I just wish this was I just I just wish
- 31:22Speaker 2: that what.
- 31:23Speaker 3: I'm looking at was was more just singular.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I don't need the whole fucking well.
- 31:29Speaker 3: That's why I said, you know what I'm looking at,
- 31:32Speaker 3: bore the hell out of everybody. Everything, Oh, you bore
- 31:34Speaker 3: the hell out of everyone. And just talking about basketball.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I could have talked about all the trades, I'd have
- 31:38Speaker 3: left out half of them. I didn't even talk about
- 31:40Speaker 3: Kessler going to Lakers. I don't know anyway, or Utah
- 31:45Speaker 3: won that one bigger ship. The Lakers suck. I'm just
- 31:49Speaker 3: saying Lucas gonna want out fast. The Lakers.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, there's I think they're still winning on Avechkin's decision, Well.
- 31:56Speaker 3: No, I think they're building because he is coming back.
- 31:59Speaker 3: It seems like they're trying to retool for another run.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Connor Berdard Connor Berdard was is the kid that we're
- 32:05Speaker 3: trying to resign. He's the young kid that they just drafted. Yes, yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 3: but it's already it's a he's already up. Was he
- 32:14Speaker 3: like the number one or yes? He was the number
- 32:15Speaker 3: one pick Colorado Avalanche. Uh, they made him move to
- 32:22Speaker 3: free ups. The money they traded. He had a name
- 32:25Speaker 3: I couldn't pronounce landiscg No go up. I think it
- 32:30Speaker 3: showed you they traded. I got rid of nurse. That's execution.
- 32:39Speaker 3: That's it right there, Val execution.
- 32:42Speaker 1: To the to the j and they let they just
- 32:44Speaker 1: got draft picks, so they also traded.
- 32:49Speaker 3: It was apparently that was the money thing and draft. Yeah,
- 32:52Speaker 3: I mean, but I mean there's still one of the
- 32:54Speaker 3: top teams.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Hopefully they can come back from Oh uh, Dallas led
- 33:00Speaker 1: who did Dallas let.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Go money thing?
- 33:03Speaker 2: They needy?
- 33:04Speaker 3: Good? It's not it was a money move, yeah, but
- 33:10Speaker 3: it was what it was their top score, wasn't their
- 33:12Speaker 3: top score? Was it? Yes?
- 33:16Speaker 1: I after the draft there was a trade offer for
- 33:20Speaker 1: Robertson and he was the top scorer of the season.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Well no, but I mean they want to keep him, obviously.
- 33:29Speaker 3: I wish this was more. But they traded. But they traded.
- 33:32Speaker 3: They traded somebody. They traded somebody I didn't I didn't
- 33:35Speaker 3: know the name. So oh, no he was.
- 33:37Speaker 2: He was one of the top scores.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Why would they do that? This guy wasn't make it
- 33:40Speaker 3: that much damn money. No, he wasn't making money. That's
- 33:43Speaker 3: just it. That's why they'd let him go. I know that,
- 33:45Speaker 3: Uh me, I know that. Uh what was it? Maverick Burke?
- 33:52Speaker 1: The brothers brother the brothers are the stall brothers are
- 33:59Speaker 1: together on on Florida or not Florida. But Hurricane do
- 34:04Speaker 1: I remember that happened before? I think they're trying to
- 34:08Speaker 1: get the Hughes brothers linked up in Minnesota.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Why mc tavish got traded mc tavish, tavish sorry from
- 34:19Speaker 3: the Ducks. He went to Saint Louis Well.
- 34:22Speaker 2: And the Ducks.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Let the Ducks let Carlson go. I just think he
- 34:28Speaker 3: I think they thought Tavish was or Tavish was the bust.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I mean, he hasn't lived up to his I think
- 34:33Speaker 3: he's gonna bust since he started. He's only twenty three though,
- 34:36Speaker 3: I know.
- 34:36Speaker 1: But what he's gonna end up doing is going to
- 34:39Speaker 1: a better team and a showing out.
- 34:42Speaker 3: He's gonna go to a worse team and look better.
- 34:43Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean he's gonna show up because that's
- 34:46Speaker 3: the Blues. But An looks really good.
- 34:49Speaker 1: The Ducks let Leo Carlson go. Leo Carlson was one
- 34:53Speaker 1: of their older, older players who who held that team together.
- 34:58Speaker 1: He was one of their veteran players that that that
- 35:02Speaker 1: let that that had led them deep in the playoffs.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Second, what what the problem is with that? It's just
- 35:08Speaker 3: like it says, right, there is yet a lot of
- 35:09Speaker 3: young players. You know, they're all gonna come together and
- 35:16Speaker 3: we want to be paid at the same time. Well,
- 35:18Speaker 3: and it looks like they've got some good ones. That's
- 35:21Speaker 3: the problem in any sport. I guess you draft well,
- 35:25Speaker 3: you have to make tough decisions later, you know, it's
- 35:28Speaker 3: the Jalen Ramsey and and.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I think got traded away from because his cap hit.
- 35:39Speaker 1: And I know that he did request the trade with
- 35:41Speaker 1: the new coach that was coming in.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I do. I do know that there were some oilers
- 35:45Speaker 3: that did not like the new coach and we.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Talked about that because we think it's a great hire
- 35:51Speaker 1: you too, but boo freaking who, But these happened when
- 35:55Speaker 1: you gotta hire his assholes.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Gotta play for assholes sometimes. And this guy is one
- 36:00Speaker 3: the parents a little nosey people's business stories floating around.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I was listening to a story about him. I'm like,
- 36:08Speaker 3: oh my god, he sounds like weirdo. But he wins.
- 36:12Speaker 3: So there you go. And they got the talent to win,
- 36:15Speaker 3: and they had been doing it. I should find a
- 36:19Speaker 3: better page for this. You should. Let's just move on, okay,
- 36:24Speaker 3: all right? Stock War cut World Cup because I just
- 36:26Speaker 3: ended up getting to the end. In the Americans, the
- 36:30Speaker 3: U S M T T whatever.
- 36:31Speaker 1: I guess Brandon Sod is leaving. Brandon Sod was good
- 36:35Speaker 1: for the black Hawks. Member that does That means they're
- 36:38Speaker 1: just they're hitting. He's the unrestricted and I don't think
- 36:41Speaker 1: they're going to resign him.
- 36:42Speaker 3: So World PEP news, Oh my, oh my u u
- 36:46Speaker 3: s a my, oh my, what a disappointment.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Oh I already knew that they were disappointment when listening.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Gets involved that the Bologna, it's just like stupid, the
- 36:59Speaker 3: flow Bologna beloone.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I I've never heard of this guy. I don't even
- 37:03Speaker 1: know where he plays. I don't I don't know. I'm
- 37:06Speaker 1: sure he plays, so I'm sure he plays in one
- 37:09Speaker 1: of the Europeans or one time. He probably plays somewhere
- 37:12Speaker 1: in Britain, but I've never heard of him. And apparently
- 37:17Speaker 1: he's our best striker and floores or floores our our
- 37:23Speaker 1: goaliague was And I told you this. I was listening
- 37:26Speaker 1: to the Rick Neuheisel Show with his co host, and
- 37:31Speaker 1: this guy was saying, this is the best, this is
- 37:33Speaker 1: the greatest American US team we've ever had. Well, no,
- 37:36Speaker 1: that was in nineteen thirty when we finished third. Well
- 37:39Speaker 1: might that's the highest we've ever finished.
- 37:41Speaker 3: But you might you might have to also take it again,
- 37:42Speaker 3: and that.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Was the inaugural season.
- 37:44Speaker 3: He might have also taken to consideration that maybe our
- 37:48Speaker 3: generation you know best, no, no, no, Tim Howard is
- 37:52Speaker 3: our generational best.
- 37:54Speaker 2: You want to go back thirties, No, no, Tim Howard.
- 37:57Speaker 3: But in the thirties, Tim Howard when you finished Tim
- 38:01Speaker 3: Howard was playing with Dempsey when we finished eighteenth. Oh,
- 38:06Speaker 3: they break you down into those numbers now, yeah.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you get you get the numbers.
- 38:10Speaker 3: It'll show you if you look up your standings even
- 38:14Speaker 3: after you're out. Well we didn't. We can't get out
- 38:16Speaker 3: of sixteen round. It seems like no, but but we're lucky.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Tim Howard is the best goalie we've had in forever.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Oh, I'm not talking about goalie, I'm talk about teams.
- 38:25Speaker 1: No.
- 38:26Speaker 2: But but I'm saying our teams. That team, that team
- 38:28Speaker 2: that ended up playing the Germans.
- 38:31Speaker 3: They were eighteen, they ended up playing a team. Yeah, well,
- 38:34Speaker 3: so this team was not stacked by any mean and
- 38:36Speaker 3: we but I thought that, I know, and I did not.
- 38:39Speaker 3: I thought the path was set up pretty nice. Belgium
- 38:43Speaker 3: is not a world beater. No, but you're not gonna
- 38:45Speaker 3: win it.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Here's the thing. You are not someone that pays attention
- 38:50Speaker 1: to the World Cup. You're not someone that pays attention
- 38:53Speaker 1: to the German leagues. Uh, you don't pay attention to
- 38:57Speaker 1: the Copo America Cup.
- 38:59Speaker 3: That's boring. Ahead, get to your point.
- 39:01Speaker 1: You don't pay attention to the Champions League, the Premier
- 39:04Speaker 1: League and all that.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Right, I actually do.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And the Americans that we have. Pusleck should have been
- 39:13Speaker 1: our best player and.
- 39:14Speaker 3: He got his leg hurt or something.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I know that he should have been our best player.
- 39:19Speaker 3: He should have been. Yes, here was.
- 39:21Speaker 1: A teenager that was signed by LSE or there's been
- 39:25Speaker 1: some man city or something.
- 39:27Speaker 3: There's been some talk about that that maybe a little
- 39:30Speaker 3: pissed off, you know, even some American former America.
- 39:33Speaker 2: We no, I understand that.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I remember Dempsey was, you know, talking to people and
- 39:37Speaker 1: he said, you need to keep your.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Mouth shut and you know, let us play. Well. We played.
- 39:42Speaker 1: We played Belgium in the round of sixteen and we
- 39:48Speaker 1: lost four to one. Now the problem with Belgium is
- 39:51Speaker 1: Belgium has been slowly getting better. Now, had we had
- 39:56Speaker 1: to play the Senegalese, we've probably lost to the Senegalese
- 39:59Speaker 1: because Belgium beat him three to two.
- 40:01Speaker 2: We placed.
- 40:02Speaker 1: We played Bosnia Hertzgovina and one two to another. So yes,
- 40:07Speaker 1: we did have a very nice path there at a
- 40:12Speaker 1: certain point. And if you want to look at it,
- 40:14Speaker 1: the other two host teams had a very nice path
- 40:17Speaker 1: there as well, Canada and Mexico, it seems something, and
- 40:23Speaker 1: the Canadians ended up losing to Morocco. Very surprising there.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I'm trying to forgue out how the Moroccans beat the Dutch.
- 40:34Speaker 1: That was on a penalty king, It was on penalty games.
- 40:37Speaker 1: What was the one we.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Watched gauge when we were in Colorado? Who was that?
- 40:40Speaker 3: That was Portugal and Germany, Paraguay and Germany.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And I don't understand how fucking Germany The Germans lost
- 40:49Speaker 1: to Paraguay on penalty kid.
- 40:51Speaker 3: It was. It was fun to watch, That is a fact. Well,
- 40:54Speaker 3: France right now Oddsmaker as still a favorite.
- 40:56Speaker 1: They're not, They're not. I had spent bet. Everything I've
- 41:01Speaker 1: heard is Spain is the better team.
- 41:03Speaker 3: When you gamble. You know those, so I know.
- 41:08Speaker 2: The face correct.
- 41:10Speaker 1: France is coming in because they're playing Morocco, which I
- 41:14Speaker 1: don't know how the Moroccans beat the Canadians three to nothing.
- 41:17Speaker 3: France will beat them, they will for Florida. Fucking nothing
- 41:21Speaker 3: is that tomorrow? Is that the first one?
- 41:24Speaker 2: July ninth?
- 41:25Speaker 3: Get my soccer shirt on? Ready to go? Okay, well,
- 41:29Speaker 3: you want to take that take the better four to
- 41:30Speaker 3: one France. How do you see that odds there?
- 41:34Speaker 2: I'm just saying France is way better than Morocco.
- 41:37Speaker 3: I do too, But that's not the bed. It's a
- 41:38Speaker 3: it's a it's a minus one eighty, so I got
- 41:41Speaker 3: a better.
- 41:42Speaker 1: No, No, I'm talking about goals. I'm talking about goals.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I'm talking about goals. I'm talking about four to one
- 41:46Speaker 1: France over Morocco.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Oh I wouldn't. I wouldn't bet any team to score
- 41:49Speaker 3: four goals at soccer.
- 41:51Speaker 2: I would France over Morocco. I would definitely take that.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Take zero.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fine.
- 41:57Speaker 3: I would do it two as well, and potentially even
- 42:02Speaker 3: a three to one the Moroccos.
- 42:04Speaker 2: In the Canadians.
- 42:05Speaker 1: The Canadians were a weak team anyways, I don't understand
- 42:08Speaker 1: how the Canadians made it.
- 42:09Speaker 3: They tried, they tried harder, they were actually in it
- 42:14Speaker 3: to win. It did the USC That USA team came
- 42:17Speaker 3: out flat.
- 42:17Speaker 2: We scored one goal.
- 42:19Speaker 3: It was a penalty kick too, but we still kick
- 42:22Speaker 3: whatever they call it. It was a free kick. Yeah,
- 42:23Speaker 3: they didn't do ship, but.
- 42:24Speaker 2: We still scored a goal with Canadians was it?
- 42:28Speaker 3: But I'm saying, but I'm saying, looks more in it.
- 42:31Speaker 3: The first half. Hold on the Mexicans.
- 42:35Speaker 1: They were the stronger team out of the three hosting teams.
- 42:38Speaker 1: The three Lions beat them three to two. But the
- 42:42Speaker 1: three Lions beat.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Them three two.
- 42:43Speaker 3: It's not super, no, they're not.
- 42:45Speaker 2: But the three lines beat them with ten men.
- 42:48Speaker 3: And I think Argentina's kind of had a little bit.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Of it set up.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Is a hell of a fucking and down and is
- 42:59Speaker 3: a hell of a a hell of a fuck.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I don't know that Argentina is gonna get past Switzerland.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Argentina's meeting Switzerland after the game again. Almost It's almost like.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Carrie Underwood would say, Jesus take the wheel, and it's
- 43:15Speaker 3: taken it. I think I think I think they can repeat.
- 43:18Speaker 1: I think the Argentina. I think the Swiss. Swiss are
- 43:21Speaker 1: gonna take Argentina. I'm gonna go Argentina. Okay, okay, oh yeah,
- 43:28Speaker 1: we can make predictions. Yes, of course, I'm taking the
- 43:31Speaker 1: I'm taking the Swiss.
- 43:33Speaker 3: I've got you got Switzerland, okay, okay, all right, I
- 43:38Speaker 3: got Argentina.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I'm not I've never been a messer Belgium, all right,
- 43:44Speaker 1: I want to take Norway over England. I've got that Norway,
- 43:47Speaker 1: the Norwegian Holland has made the Norwegian so much better.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Change it Takingland, I've got Spain over Belgium.
- 43:58Speaker 2: And you know what, I'm.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Taking the Belgians. I'm going to take the Belgians in
- 44:01Speaker 1: the shaker. Yeah, I'm going to take the Belgian I'm
- 44:05Speaker 1: gonna take the Belgians. A ta, I'm taking France. I'm
- 44:07Speaker 1: taking France as well. I don't yeah, because Morocco. I
- 44:11Speaker 1: don't understand how they scored three on Canada.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Canada is just that bad.
- 44:16Speaker 3: I mean they made it to the Sweet sixteen. They
- 44:18Speaker 3: had to have some sort of luck made he I
- 44:21Speaker 3: mean they all kind of luck, you know, lucked into it. Okay,
- 44:24Speaker 3: all right, as we close up, as we close, uh,
- 44:30Speaker 3: we'll be back, and we will. The White Socks are
- 44:34Speaker 3: up one y. Yeah, no sweets suck. No no real
- 44:40Speaker 3: surprises in baseball.
- 44:42Speaker 2: That I no real surprise. Tampa Bay I don't know.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Tampa Bay is.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Has got a good team. They're always consistently look at
- 44:49Speaker 3: the differential at different thirty three. Yeah, New York's plus eighty,
- 44:54Speaker 3: but that don't mean anything.
- 44:55Speaker 1: But Yankees, the Yankees.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Did you look at Virginia, look at the West and
- 45:00Speaker 3: and they're all averages, they're all ass, they're all just average,
- 45:03Speaker 3: you know. Yeah, but they tend to beat up on
- 45:06Speaker 3: us and love. You know, we talked about Phillies have
- 45:07Speaker 3: had the second best record since Don Mattingly. Is we
- 45:11Speaker 3: need to look up Don matting That's what we're looking at.
- 45:13Speaker 3: That will be your man, that is our that is
- 45:16Speaker 3: that is our closing, uh closing for baseball. Yes, and
- 45:22Speaker 3: then by as he's looking at dawn. We'll be back
- 45:25Speaker 3: July twenty third, which would be Thursday. Schedule switches back
- 45:30Speaker 3: and we'll be on the Thursday preview. That preview that
- 45:34Speaker 3: night will be the Big twelve, will be the Big
- 45:37Speaker 3: twelve Football and the a f C South.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna start doing football previews. We're taking our
- 45:45Speaker 1: time off. We're taking our usual time off.
- 45:47Speaker 3: From didn't manage it, Dodgers.
- 45:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Yeah, we're taking our usual time off.
- 45:52Speaker 3: I forgot that in its spent four years. Don Mattingly didn't.
- 45:58Speaker 3: So we're taking our usual I'm off for the season
- 46:04Speaker 3: five starts. We'll talk a little baseball, a little basketball,
- 46:07Speaker 3: but it's gonna be all football. Football, football, we'll talk
- 46:09Speaker 3: about like I said first, oh, it's definitely gonna be
- 46:11Speaker 3: all football Episode twelve or season five.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Opening will be episode episode one of season five, technically
- 46:19Speaker 1: episode one.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Sixty seven Big twelve Football Predictions, and we'll go over
- 46:24Speaker 3: that and NFL team a FC South, a FCFC South.
- 46:30Speaker 3: We're just gonna breve you one because we'll have a
- 46:32Speaker 3: lot as we get close.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I've actually I've actually already picked my uh my, you.
- 46:38Speaker 3: Print mine out my prontnounce are those this year's? Okay?
- 46:44Speaker 2: All right, but I've already done my Big twelve.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Gotcha? All right? Well, thanks for joining us. We'll see you.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Hold on though, we got something well, i mean Don
- 46:50Speaker 1: madding Legue, we said he managed that. Yeah, but you know,
- 46:53Speaker 1: Dodgers for four years, Marlins.
- 46:56Speaker 3: For that's five years, five years, five years for the Dodger,
- 47:01Speaker 3: six years for the Marlins, five years for the Dodgers, okay.
- 47:04Speaker 1: And currently leading the Philadelphia Phillies and making them better.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but this guy is it's one of my favorites.
- 47:15Speaker 3: You know, he'll be coaching, he'll be a Manager of
- 47:17Speaker 3: the year. Well, our current recap, we gotta talk.
- 47:21Speaker 1: We're gonna say, oh, you, Oh you men, Oh you
- 47:26Speaker 1: baseball came out of nowhere with their week pitching week
- 47:31Speaker 1: pitching finished what sec eleven eleven or fourteen.
- 47:39Speaker 2: To end up winning the baseball title.
- 47:42Speaker 3: The OU women failed to make it to the World Series,
- 47:47Speaker 3: which was a surprise for all of us, not me.
- 47:51Speaker 3: You are surprised. He was a surprise.
- 47:56Speaker 2: We talked about, oh you men's basketball should be better
- 47:59Speaker 2: next year.
- 48:00Speaker 3: They went to the n i L Tournament. Oh you women?
- 48:06Speaker 3: Do you think they get better next year? Yes? Top
- 48:10Speaker 3: ten program?
- 48:11Speaker 2: Do you believe that?
- 48:12Speaker 3: Do you think they've got to make Jenny a very
- 48:14Speaker 3: high paid lady too, because they are going to be
- 48:16Speaker 3: coming after her. Do you think the OU football team
- 48:20Speaker 3: comes back? Oh? I guess you'll have to wait.
- 48:23Speaker 1: And and I meant we made the.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Playoff Finally, we have a worse record next year and
- 48:30Speaker 3: still make the playoffs. No, I think we're better next year.
- 48:33Speaker 3: We're a better team than last year, but we're not.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Our record is not going to reflect I think holds
- 48:40Speaker 3: it together well him the wide receivers in the old
- 48:43Speaker 3: line is that you have no question marks on defense.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Still it's still line. Can the receiver get anybody? I
- 48:52Speaker 3: think i'd hope. So I think that was the biggest
- 48:56Speaker 3: last year.
- 48:56Speaker 2: I think I think can.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I think our big biggest question this season coming in
- 49:02Speaker 1: is going to be wide receiver. I honestly think wide
- 49:05Speaker 1: receiver play because.
- 49:06Speaker 3: We've lost you can't run the ball.
- 49:08Speaker 2: No, No, we'll be able to run the ball.
- 49:10Speaker 3: We didn't last year, but we will this year. But
- 49:12Speaker 3: our wide receivers you can't just and we're gonna have
- 49:18Speaker 3: He's a great college play, I know, but we had
- 49:21Speaker 3: to pick up.
- 49:22Speaker 2: We have to pick up.
- 49:23Speaker 3: You got to find a quarterback that throws to him too.
- 49:25Speaker 3: You know Materney's you know, it's not just his injury.
- 49:28Speaker 3: He still makes dumb decisions throw And that's the thing.
- 49:31Speaker 3: You know, I don't give ship how much weight you've
- 49:33Speaker 3: put on because you look like a big, buff bad
- 49:35Speaker 3: Ass's got to get better.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Well aware of watching guys throughout the season put on
- 49:41Speaker 1: weight and and still not be the guy.
- 49:45Speaker 3: But ou is a rock star on defense. We're gonna
- 49:48Speaker 3: multiple first round picks, and you think, and the recruiting
- 49:51Speaker 3: is continuing question and we're still underpaying. We're not the top.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Do you think Florida gets better? Yes, yes, hands down.
- 49:58Speaker 3: They can't get any worse either. I like l s U,
- 50:01Speaker 3: I like Florida. Georgia might take it. Yeah, no, Kim
- 50:08Speaker 3: Lane late, that is not true. Georgia. Georgia might take it.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Georgia might take a little bit of a dip. And
- 50:20Speaker 3: and I really I think Texas, Texas is the best
- 50:23Speaker 3: team in this they are who's quarterback? Do you think?
- 50:26Speaker 3: I don't. I don't know. And you think that's gonna
- 50:32Speaker 3: be interesting? Do they come back? Do they repeat?
- 50:35Speaker 2: I mean.
- 50:37Speaker 3: They're not. They're hoping they don't go six and six?
- 50:41Speaker 1: No, I know, But but but Signetti is a saving guy.
- 50:44Speaker 1: He is and he's he's close. It's it's it's not.
- 50:48Speaker 3: It goes to prove that coaching still matters, and it
- 50:52Speaker 3: matters in every sport.
- 50:53Speaker 1: I get ask you, what was your biggest surprise of
- 50:55Speaker 1: the season? Indiana obviously Indiana winning the national title? And
- 50:59Speaker 1: I tell you, I was I was just asking and
- 51:01Speaker 1: I know another.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Around season, what was your biggest what was your biggest surprise?
- 51:07Speaker 3: Oh uh oh, you winning the baseball championship. That has
- 51:10Speaker 3: to be the biggest surprise all year.
- 51:12Speaker 1: After being picked after being picked middle where they finished,
- 51:16Speaker 1: we talked being picked middle of the where they finished.
- 51:19Speaker 3: And we talked about the when the brackets come out,
- 51:22Speaker 3: we reviewed it and like a fuck, we're playing Georgia
- 51:24Speaker 3: Tech and and you were the only one, the one
- 51:26Speaker 3: I didn't know you can do it. And I'm like, really,
- 51:28Speaker 3: I don't think say we got a shot down and
- 51:31Speaker 3: you did that because a Homer pick. Anybody else you
- 51:33Speaker 3: would have said no.
- 51:34Speaker 2: No, and uh no.
- 51:37Speaker 3: But the improbable I didn't it was and who they
- 51:40Speaker 3: beat it was probable and who they be and and
- 51:43Speaker 3: nobody's talking about it now, but it will go down
- 51:45Speaker 3: in history in college baseball, history and history, history, historical,
- 51:51Speaker 3: uh goes down to college baseball. I was talking about historical,
- 51:56Speaker 3: historically whatever, history anything, but historians that are college baseball savvy,
- 52:02Speaker 3: we'll always go back to one of this this team.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Well what about when when O you lost it to
- 52:07Speaker 1: Old Miss two three years ago?
- 52:10Speaker 3: Ole Miss was the last team to get in the tournament.
- 52:12Speaker 3: And that's well you.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Oh, you and Ole Miss have that same Old.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Miss did not have to beat the teams. I didn't
- 52:18Speaker 3: to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure I
- 52:19Speaker 3: looked at this. Old Miss didn't have to beat the
- 52:21Speaker 3: teams in Oklahoma. No, No, I know, I know, but
- 52:23Speaker 3: but I mean they went through but they but.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Think about but yeah, because we got stuck in the
- 52:28Speaker 1: ol SEC bracket.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, we had to We had to go through
- 52:35Speaker 2: Georgia Tech.
- 52:36Speaker 3: We had to go to Kansas, Kansas was I I
- 52:39Speaker 3: read the big twelve chance.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I know, but we had to go through the other
- 52:42Speaker 1: top team, Georgia twice. We never had to play Texas,
- 52:47Speaker 1: which was good for us. That right there was for
- 52:51Speaker 1: that right, thank you Georgia. We beat Alabama who had
- 52:55Speaker 1: taken us to task a couple of times.
- 52:58Speaker 3: So that was that was my biggest rise. I think, oh,
- 53:00Speaker 3: you're making the football tournament. Was want to go with
- 53:05Speaker 3: the Knicks finally fucking breaking the curse? I could, I
- 53:08Speaker 3: could see that.
- 53:08Speaker 2: I want to go with the next break of the curves.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Fun sports years, because you know, the very first year
- 53:17Speaker 1: the Louisville Kings whin the UFO Michigan with Dusty May
