- 1:57Speaker 1: Good evening, and welcome to a special episode of Believe
- 2:01Speaker 1: in the Journey podcast, and Happy Mother's Day to the
- 2:05Speaker 1: mothers that are out there, all of the ones who
- 2:07Speaker 1: have given birth, who have stepped in and taken on
- 2:12Speaker 1: the role as mom step mom, and I don't necessarily
- 2:16Speaker 1: want to say stepmom, but bonus mom, loving the child
- 2:20Speaker 1: like it's your own, because I have multiple children that
- 2:23Speaker 1: I did not birth that call me mom, and I
- 2:29Speaker 1: don't know how many bonus children I have, you know,
- 2:32Speaker 1: And I'm grateful for those children. The three that I
- 2:34Speaker 1: birth are just my gift, and I'm grateful that God
- 2:38Speaker 1: chose me to be their mom, and I am loving it.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I want to say a special thank you for my mother.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna do my best, y'all to get through this
- 2:54Speaker 1: part of today's show because many of us are in
- 3:02Speaker 1: mourning and going through the stages of grief of our
- 3:06Speaker 1: moms not being here, and today is bittersweet for that
- 3:09Speaker 1: particular reason, and so it's been bittersweet for me. You know,
- 3:16Speaker 1: it's been three years since my mom passed. But before
- 3:19Speaker 1: I get into all of that, you know, we can't
- 3:21Speaker 1: do anything until we go to God in prayer. So
- 3:23Speaker 1: let's do that first. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for
- 3:26Speaker 1: the mothers that have taken the moment to actually extend
- 3:30Speaker 1: on the journey of life, because without you giving us
- 3:35Speaker 1: the blessing of the children, that you decided we needed
- 3:38Speaker 1: to be the extensions of you, Because being a mother
- 3:43Speaker 1: is the closest thing that I believe is a walk
- 3:46Speaker 1: with God. Because your little blessings are what makes us
- 3:52Speaker 1: as moms, the strength, the salvation, the nurse, the teacher,
- 3:58Speaker 1: the friend, the enemy sometimes when especially when you have girls,
- 4:03Speaker 1: they can be your enemy sometimes because they're the split
- 4:08Speaker 1: personality of yourself. But we thank you for choosing us
- 4:13Speaker 1: as mothers to carry what you have given us. And
- 4:17Speaker 1: we honor each and every mother, yeah, and even the
- 4:22Speaker 1: roles of the bonus mom to step in and love
- 4:25Speaker 1: on those children, the aunties, the TT's, the ggs, and
- 4:31Speaker 1: every name that you give yourself in that role, in
- 4:34Speaker 1: that specific title and position, We honor you today and
- 4:39Speaker 1: we thank you Lord for giving us the strength to
- 4:43Speaker 1: do what you have called us to do in that
- 4:45Speaker 1: role of mom. So in your person's the Holy name Jesus,
- 4:49Speaker 1: we pray Amen. And I want to read this little
- 4:53Speaker 1: thing that I have, and it's basically a letter from heaven.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So it says, when tomorrow starts without me and I'm
- 5:02Speaker 1: not here to see if the sun should rise and
- 5:05Speaker 1: find your eyes filled with tears for me, I wish
- 5:09Speaker 1: so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today
- 5:13Speaker 1: while thinking of many things we didn't get to say.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I know, I know how much you love me and
- 5:20Speaker 1: as much as I love you. And each time you
- 5:23Speaker 1: think of me, I know you'll miss me too when
- 5:26Speaker 1: tomorrow starts without me. Don't think we're far apart, for
- 5:30Speaker 1: every time you think of me, I'm right here in
- 5:33Speaker 1: your heart. And so that's a cute little point. I
- 5:41Speaker 1: don't know who the author of that is, but it's
- 5:44Speaker 1: fitting for today. You know, my mom was the epitome
- 5:52Speaker 1: of resilience and strength and just about fire and so
- 6:01Speaker 1: many boy and this morning, as I was just thinking
- 6:07Speaker 1: about her memory and what she brought to my life,
- 6:13Speaker 1: is as all of that, And she showed up for
- 6:17Speaker 1: me in moments that I didn't think she was, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: in the highlights of life. She may not have been
- 6:26Speaker 1: there every moment of growing up, but she was there
- 6:30Speaker 1: in the moments where it counted the most. And she
- 6:33Speaker 1: left me with lessons that I utilized today. And as
- 6:40Speaker 1: you can see today, I even have my hair like
- 6:42Speaker 1: my mama to wear her hair ironically and her two braids,
- 6:48Speaker 1: her go to hairstyle, and it's just one of those things.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Today is just loving her. I wish she was here
- 7:00Speaker 1: to see all of the things that I've been able
- 7:02Speaker 1: to do and accomplish. And you know, before she made
- 7:07Speaker 1: that transition over, she allowed God to be in her
- 7:12Speaker 1: life and and help her to get over. And when
- 7:19Speaker 1: I am talking with my granddaughter, my oldest one, Sky,
- 7:25Speaker 1: it's now, this may make me cry.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Okay, all right, all right, take your tie. It's okay, understandable, understandable.
- 7:51Speaker 1: She looks at pictures of her and my mom and
- 7:56Speaker 1: she'll always say, t T, my grandma and God are
- 8:05Speaker 1: walking together.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Come on, come on.
- 8:10Speaker 1: God needed to get her to walk with him. Oh
- 8:16Speaker 1: And I said yeah. She says he had to come
- 8:22Speaker 1: get her. Say yeah, he had to come get her.
- 8:28Speaker 1: She says, I love my great grandma and I want
- 8:39Speaker 1: to walk with her too. I said, I know. She said,
- 8:43Speaker 1: you miss your mommy. I said, yeah, I miss my mommy.
- 8:48Speaker 1: She say, her and God are together.
- 8:52Speaker 3: T T.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It's okay, so she remembers my mom. But it's weird
- 9:03Speaker 1: in a sense, not necessarily weird. But I don't ever
- 9:09Speaker 1: cry when she's talking to me about it, because she
- 9:11Speaker 1: I don't want her to think that she's making me sad. Yeah,
- 9:17Speaker 1: but for her to say Grandma, my great grandma is
- 9:23Speaker 1: walking with God, oh says a lot, because what three
- 9:30Speaker 1: year old knows about to walk with them?
- 9:33Speaker 3: That is God? That's good speaking through her.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah. So yeah, So she's like, t T, my great
- 9:44Speaker 1: grandma's walking with God and he had to get her.
- 9:49Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, she they're walking together. And she
- 9:54Speaker 1: just recently started saying that part. She would always say.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I would say, well, she said your your mommy died.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Great grandma died and I said, yeah, she passed, and
- 10:07Speaker 1: so she was like, oh I miss her. I'm like
- 10:10Speaker 1: I miss her too, and so just thinking about that,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and so I'm having like my phone out. She'll say
- 10:20Speaker 1: I want to see pictures of me and my great grandma,
- 10:23Speaker 1: and so to show her pictures, and God forbid, I
- 10:28Speaker 1: try to scroll past a picture. I go back, go back,
- 10:33Speaker 1: t T. I wasn't done looking at that picture. My
- 10:37Speaker 1: bad my phone. Yes, I mean you've heard her plenty
- 10:45Speaker 1: of times. So you know, three going on thirty.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Three definitely not three yo.
- 10:58Speaker 1: No, no, no, absolutely.
- 11:04Speaker 4: And yeah.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and so she knows pictures of laying on the
- 11:12Speaker 1: bed with my mom and my mom holding her. And
- 11:16Speaker 1: that's one of the things that I can say, my mom,
- 11:19Speaker 1: even though she was barely able to hold herself up,
- 11:22Speaker 1: she was gonna make sure that she held that baby.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And yeah, she was gonna hold that baby. And so
- 11:30Speaker 1: she she helps her. So you know, it's just one
- 11:34Speaker 1: of those things. But love on your mom, regardless of
- 11:41Speaker 1: whether it's good or bad or indifferent. Your mother is
- 11:45Speaker 1: who brought you into this world. And without your mother
- 11:49Speaker 1: bringing you into this world, you would not be in existence.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Now.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I do understand that there are some circumstances that are unforgivable.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I get that, but still be saying that you have
- 12:03Speaker 1: the life that you have because that mother. No matter
- 12:11Speaker 1: how loosely you may use the term for their behavior,
- 12:15Speaker 1: are their actions. Their action to give you life is
- 12:22Speaker 1: still valuable and it's worthy to say thank you if
- 12:26Speaker 1: you say nothing else. So just be mindful of that.
- 12:32Speaker 1: You don't have to be in contact with them, but
- 12:36Speaker 1: just be mindful of that because without that you would
- 12:40Speaker 1: not be in existence, you know. And that's one thing
- 12:43Speaker 1: that I can say. You know, me and my mom
- 12:46Speaker 1: our relationship did not start out as the beautiful rainbows
- 12:52Speaker 1: and sunshine and skittles and all of that kind of stuff.
- 12:55Speaker 1: We had our moments, we had really discussions, but ultimately
- 13:03Speaker 1: I was able to let go of the idea of
- 13:06Speaker 1: what I thought my mother should be for me and
- 13:10Speaker 1: start to see an individual and learn to love her
- 13:14Speaker 1: she was and who God hated her to be for me.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And you know, she was my mom and I love her.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I miss her, I am her in so many ways
- 13:33Speaker 1: am and I see more of her in me as
- 13:37Speaker 1: I get older.
- 13:38Speaker 3: So oh, I know that's.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Imist stop talking.
- 13:44Speaker 3: So you got you got you?
- 13:48Speaker 5: We here together. That's what this is. This is you
- 13:51Speaker 5: can celebrate your mom together. This is this is fine
- 13:54Speaker 5: what I.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Understand and can relate to the facts.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Of seeing your faith seeing them as you get older,
- 14:00Speaker 5: because it's funny to me that more and more I'll
- 14:04Speaker 5: take a picture and.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I'll see my biological mom and I'm like, oh my god.
- 14:07Speaker 5: And I mean I have a cousin who if I
- 14:09Speaker 5: pop her? If I change my profile pictures, he said,
- 14:12Speaker 5: every time. He he's like, oh my god, that's Auntie.
- 14:14Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 14:15Speaker 5: It's like crazy. To him, it's like the wildest thing.
- 14:17Speaker 5: I don't see it all the time though, but it's
- 14:19Speaker 5: like the wildest thing. But then Tanya that she sees
- 14:24Speaker 5: my adopted mom in me. He's like, she's like that
- 14:29Speaker 5: that was the mom. He's like, because that's the wildest thing.
- 14:32Speaker 5: And I'm like, Daddy said, your feet the moment enough
- 14:34Speaker 5: they look like you, so apparently that's what happened.
- 14:37Speaker 3: But I love what you say.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you stay around the longest, that's who you tend
- 14:42Speaker 1: to look at.
- 14:43Speaker 3: That's good. But I love that. I love that she
- 14:46Speaker 3: says that because I think she practically was the first
- 14:48Speaker 3: question that's ever said that to me. And I'm like,
- 14:51Speaker 3: I feel so honored by that because I want to.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I want to. I want to be her.
- 14:56Speaker 5: I want to honor her. I want to be the
- 14:59Speaker 5: first and she will. Yeah, he placed in me. She
- 15:02Speaker 5: didn't burst me, but he always said I had agree
- 15:05Speaker 5: with you in my heart.
- 15:07Speaker 3: That means a lot. Yeah, that means so much to me.
- 15:10Speaker 3: So it's like everything I try to do, it's like
- 15:12Speaker 3: in honor of her.
- 15:13Speaker 4: So when Sara said that was like, really my mom,
- 15:15Speaker 4: She's like, girl, yeah, that was the mother she was
- 15:18Speaker 4: for fat and I was like, yes, she really was,
- 15:24Speaker 4: so yeah, she was.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Supposed to have me.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah the.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Brave.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I saw it. I saw it that you have one.
- 15:36Speaker 3: When you said the head, I said, yep, that's my
- 15:38Speaker 3: that's my mom right there, because wow, yeah, yeah, that's.
- 15:43Speaker 1: The time I do this hairstyle. I think of my
- 15:47Speaker 1: mom because my mom she would put them two plants
- 15:50Speaker 1: in her head and honey, yeah, because my mom is
- 15:56Speaker 1: extremely tender headed and he would not like anybody combing
- 16:02Speaker 1: her hair at all, and so you come near her
- 16:07Speaker 1: with a comb and it's a whole problem. Like she
- 16:10Speaker 1: did not like it. She didn't want to done. Yeah,
- 16:14Speaker 1: like and so it was crazy Like when she was
- 16:18Speaker 1: beginning her transition stage, my aunt called me and she
- 16:21Speaker 1: was like, yeah, your mom said she wants you to
- 16:23Speaker 1: come and calmb her hair, like she was at the hospital.
- 16:25Speaker 1: And I was like you sure you talking about my
- 16:26Speaker 1: mama and she was like, yeah, your mama said she
- 16:28Speaker 1: want And so I was like, yeah, I'm gonna have
- 16:32Speaker 1: to call her and see about that because I don't
- 16:34Speaker 1: think that's what she said, and because my mama her
- 16:39Speaker 1: hair does not go together in the same sentence. So
- 16:42Speaker 1: I called my mama. I was like, yeah, Midra called
- 16:46Speaker 1: me and told me that you wanted your hair braided.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And she was like, yeah, you are right. The medication
- 16:54Speaker 1: like they like, what have they done? Like because you
- 17:00Speaker 1: you don't know, let me talk to the doctor, the
- 17:04Speaker 1: nurse in there, somebody in there with you, because no,
- 17:08Speaker 1: she's talking about Travita. I need you to come home
- 17:12Speaker 1: my hair. Mm hmmm. Because now when she say Trevina,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I know she's serious because any other time it is Eda.
- 17:22Speaker 1: But she said, Tavia, stop playing with me, okay, to
- 17:27Speaker 1: do what you.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Need to do.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Anything else you need me to do, yeah, bring me
- 17:31Speaker 1: some chewing gum. Okay, all right. Now I got there
- 17:35Speaker 1: and I was like, you really want me to braid
- 17:37Speaker 1: your hair? She was like, yeah, you're gonna bring my hair.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Ki gonna hold my hand, okay. So Kai held her
- 17:43Speaker 1: hand while I braided her hair. And I have the
- 17:48Speaker 1: picture of her hair after I finished braiding her hair. Oh,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and so great. It's just those memories right there, I
- 18:04Speaker 1: have and I cherished those because for the longest it
- 18:09Speaker 1: was in and out, in and out and you know,
- 18:13Speaker 1: the grieving process is one of those things that you know,
- 18:16Speaker 1: it's a moment by moment adjustment.
- 18:18Speaker 3: You never know.
- 18:20Speaker 1: What the emotions are gonna come when they come, and
- 18:24Speaker 1: you just have to give yourself commission to feel yeah yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 1: because it's never ended. Yeah, and when they come, you
- 18:35Speaker 1: just deal with them as they come and you just
- 18:39Speaker 1: take it. And that's one of the things that like,
- 18:43Speaker 1: when mom finally transitioned over, it was harder for me
- 18:50Speaker 1: in the sense of it being the final goodbye because
- 18:55Speaker 1: I have been, you know, grieving all along because it
- 18:59Speaker 1: would on and off, on and off, and this time
- 19:04Speaker 1: it was like, she's not coming back.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Happened, but you do good get the kickback and in
- 19:15Speaker 3: the name of Jesus, Yeah.
- 19:18Speaker 1: So I don't know, but if you can see me, good,
- 19:23Speaker 1: if you can hear me good. Computer wants to try
- 19:29Speaker 1: to restart right now for summer. And I don't know why,
- 19:36Speaker 1: like it's just trying to do its own little thing.
- 19:39Speaker 1: But anyway, if y'all can still hear me, yeah, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 19:47Speaker 1: it just said that it needs to restart, but it's
- 19:49Speaker 1: it doesn't need a new update or anything but to.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Do the most.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I just want to do something that it doesn't
- 19:58Speaker 1: need to do. But yeah, okay, as long as you
- 20:03Speaker 1: can hear me, I'm okay, you ain't got to necessarily
- 20:05Speaker 1: see me. You know, I already ugly cry anyway, so
- 20:10Speaker 1: you know that was fine. Yeah, even uglier what nobody
- 20:19Speaker 1: will see it? Yeah? Yeah, he was like, now need
- 20:24Speaker 1: to see all that. But you know, and I'm also
- 20:30Speaker 1: glad he's not here because he's gonna be looking at
- 20:33Speaker 1: me crazy. Yeah, because he was like he he got
- 20:37Speaker 1: me a cake. He told me, like he was at
- 20:40Speaker 1: work this morning. He was like, oh yeah, your cake
- 20:42Speaker 1: is in the refrigerator and I was like, what cake.
- 20:45Speaker 1: He was like, your mother's day cake. And I was
- 20:47Speaker 1: like okay, you know, and it's my favorite coach, which
- 20:51Speaker 1: is blue, and so I'm like okay, yeah. And so
- 20:59Speaker 1: I he got home from work and he's like, did
- 21:03Speaker 1: you see your cake? I was like, yeah, I saw
- 21:05Speaker 1: the cake. He was like, but you hadn't cut it.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I said, there's no utensils, like I can't touch the
- 21:11Speaker 1: cake and so well, and then he pulls out his
- 21:14Speaker 1: little pocket knife and he's like knife and I was like,
- 21:19Speaker 1: it's like we got a knife. I said, no, that
- 21:22Speaker 1: knife has been with you all day and I'm not
- 21:24Speaker 1: putting that on my cake. So I don't have a knife,
- 21:29Speaker 1: so I can't take until you go get man.
- 21:32Speaker 3: He's he's going to go shop and get you a knife.
- 21:35Speaker 1: But that he's out right now going to do that.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's gonna. Look out, he's gonna come back
- 21:44Speaker 3: with a whole bag.
- 21:45Speaker 1: He talked about we need. Look, he done went through
- 21:48Speaker 1: the whole list of what we need. Well, yeah, you go.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Then he talked about to me and I'm like, you
- 21:57Speaker 1: just said what I needed to text you and he
- 21:59Speaker 1: was like, okay, So what do you want to eat?
- 22:02Speaker 1: I was like, So I told him what I wanted
- 22:05Speaker 1: to eat and he was like, he was like, so
- 22:09Speaker 1: you hadn't it. I was like, I didn't eat, No,
- 22:14Speaker 1: but I was gonna eat. But there's no potholders to
- 22:19Speaker 1: take anything out of the oven. There's no spatch clock
- 22:23Speaker 1: to even do anything. Like I have my cook wares,
- 22:28Speaker 1: but I don't have the utensils because I was at
- 22:32Speaker 1: the house with Nate. So because I didn't want to
- 22:35Speaker 1: bring them here now mind you, I was gonna buy
- 22:39Speaker 1: some to bring but Nate told me up. He was like,
- 22:42Speaker 1: you're gonna get new stuff, so don't buy it here.
- 22:46Speaker 1: So you know, I got two people telling me not
- 22:49Speaker 1: to do something. So I listened. When I knew that
- 22:52Speaker 1: I was right, But now I don't have nothing to
- 22:57Speaker 1: do what I need to do, Like that's a whole.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:08Speaker 1: So, and I was talking like they had a family
- 23:12Speaker 1: cookout for his mom and grandma yesterday, and so as
- 23:19Speaker 1: I was talking to them, like his mom, the first
- 23:23Speaker 1: thing she said to me, she was like, why you
- 23:27Speaker 1: didn't make that stuff? Like she had came to my
- 23:29Speaker 1: daughter's baby shower, and she was talking about the group
- 23:32Speaker 1: dip that I made. And I was like, well, nobody
- 23:34Speaker 1: told me that I needed to make anything. And plus
- 23:37Speaker 1: I've been unpacking since I got here. So she was like, well,
- 23:43Speaker 1: you need to make some of that because I need that.
- 23:46Speaker 1: And I was like okay, and.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Don't bring it behind.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Yeah. She was like, so you need to make that.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I was like, okay, I will the next time, you know,
- 23:57Speaker 1: y'all have something. And then when his grandma got there, yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 1: And so then when his grandma got there, everybody bum
- 24:06Speaker 1: rushed her first, and so I just waited my turn
- 24:10Speaker 1: and so when it was finally clear so I could
- 24:13Speaker 1: speak to her, she was like, I know you didn't
- 24:16Speaker 1: wait to come speak to me. I said, I couldn't
- 24:17Speaker 1: even get over here, like everybody was in the way.
- 24:21Speaker 1: She told her, I don't want to hear none of that.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I don't want to hear none of it. I said,
- 24:24Speaker 1: why are you saying me? I waited my turn, like
- 24:29Speaker 1: I waited. Everybody else was take they was in front
- 24:32Speaker 1: of her.
- 24:32Speaker 5: You're supposed to carry on like a Thanksgiving Friday Friday, right,
- 24:37Speaker 5: I was supposed.
- 24:38Speaker 1: To knock little kids over like I didn't want to
- 24:42Speaker 1: be rude, you know, I waited my turn. She talked
- 24:45Speaker 1: about I want.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Knocked over.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I wasn't gonna knock over the little kids.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I was gonna do what I needed to do and
- 24:54Speaker 1: be respectful and weigh my turn.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Oh.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's a beautiful blesson to be welcome into a family
- 25:05Speaker 1: and to be treated like I've been here the whole time.
- 25:09Speaker 3: And you know, for you to get there that's all.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's basically what it seems like.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I do know what it is doing.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, And so it's been one of those things where
- 25:25Speaker 1: I am grateful for the space, and like I had
- 25:29Speaker 1: the conversation earlier with my dad, that we are in
- 25:36Speaker 1: a space to where we I trust God's timing, where
- 25:42Speaker 1: he tells me I am moving according to his time
- 25:47Speaker 1: and not my own. And so if I am moving
- 25:51Speaker 1: according to his time, it was time for me to
- 25:54Speaker 1: be here, and I was not supposed to be here
- 25:56Speaker 1: any sooner than I got here. Yeah, And so had
- 26:04Speaker 1: I came earlier, it would not have worked. And there's
- 26:08Speaker 1: so many things that have been in alignment that are
- 26:14Speaker 1: even falling into place as this week goes by, because
- 26:18Speaker 1: there are some things that were supposed to happen while
- 26:23Speaker 1: I was still in Swartanburg, but they were delayed for
- 26:27Speaker 1: this moment. And so I was telling my dad, I
- 26:31Speaker 1: was like, this is God's alignment and I could not
- 26:36Speaker 1: rush what God was doing, so I had to to
- 26:40Speaker 1: stay patient. Now did I get discouraged? Did I get
- 26:44Speaker 1: a little sidetrack? Yes, of course I did. Yeah, And
- 26:49Speaker 1: I was a little anty, I was a little uneasy,
- 26:52Speaker 1: I was a little frustrated. I was all of those things.
- 26:56Speaker 1: But as I sat in the stillness of what God
- 27:01Speaker 1: said to do and to trust him, it worked out
- 27:05Speaker 1: according to him. Because had I tried to be the
- 27:08Speaker 1: GPS driver, it would have been a problem. And you know,
- 27:14Speaker 1: as I was telling Nathan, and then we're gonna get
- 27:16Speaker 1: off of here because I don't know. I think it's
- 27:18Speaker 1: gonna do something else. But then I'm gonna get off
- 27:20Speaker 1: here because it's trying to do something else. But hopefully
- 27:24Speaker 1: don't let me say this. And as we were driving
- 27:27Speaker 1: up here, I was having a conversation with God, and
- 27:31Speaker 1: I was telling Nathan after we got here, I said,
- 27:34Speaker 1: you know, the funny thing about life is this is
- 27:38Speaker 1: that God is the is the driver. We're the passengers
- 27:43Speaker 1: in life, I said, but we are some horrible passengers
- 27:47Speaker 1: because he'll complain all the time. We over there in
- 27:51Speaker 1: the passenger see saying we God, why you go on?
- 27:56Speaker 1: Why you solong? Why why you going right when I
- 28:02Speaker 1: need to go straight? Don't you need to turn right here?
- 28:06Speaker 1: Don't you like we over here making all of these
- 28:10Speaker 1: assumptions and thinking we know what we're supposed to be going.
- 28:14Speaker 1: But we said, Jesus, take the wheel, but we want
- 28:17Speaker 1: to be over here driving too. We don't have to
- 28:21Speaker 1: complain the whole time. Like if we gonna ask him
- 28:26Speaker 1: to be the driver, we gotta sit out up and
- 28:29Speaker 1: actually ride, like let him do the driving, and you know,
- 28:35Speaker 1: and I'm sitting over there and I'm like, God, you
- 28:38Speaker 1: ain't got to talk to me like this, Like I
- 28:42Speaker 1: understand it. Yeah, I'm like, you ain't gotta talk to
- 28:46Speaker 1: me like this. I understand. Like I know I'm a
- 28:48Speaker 1: horrible passenger. I get it, you know, but you ain't
- 28:52Speaker 1: have to say it like that.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Right now.
- 28:54Speaker 1: I'm just trying to get there to the destination at
- 28:57Speaker 1: hand today. But you ain't have to do me like that.
- 29:01Speaker 1: You know, I've been on the right course today. I
- 29:05Speaker 1: ain't even stay it on. I ain't the GPS today,
- 29:08Speaker 1: ain't had to reroute me, not one time. And you
- 29:11Speaker 1: know I've been following directions and now you want to
- 29:14Speaker 1: tell me I'm a bad passenger, like I've been on
- 29:19Speaker 1: the right path right now.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Now.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Tomorrow might be a different story, but as of today, I'm.
- 29:25Speaker 3: On the right.
- 29:26Speaker 1: You ain't rerouted me yet, So just just keep me
- 29:30Speaker 1: right here today. Can I get a gold star for today?
- 29:34Speaker 1: Tomorrow the different story? Like, you know, I might have
- 29:38Speaker 1: some questions or I might want to go to the
- 29:41Speaker 1: right when you say go to the left or stay straight.
- 29:43Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 29:44Speaker 1: But today, can can I just have a gold start?
- 29:48Speaker 3: Can I have a feeling that we get off to
- 29:51Speaker 3: say that? Did that sound familiar to you?
- 29:59Speaker 1: As I driving here yesterday it's Friday. I was just like,
- 30:05Speaker 1: we are some horrible passengers like me, like God is
- 30:10Speaker 1: the driver all the time for directions. It's like, but
- 30:17Speaker 1: we don't know how to sit there and shut up.
- 30:22Speaker 3: The whole time.
- 30:23Speaker 1: We got to complain about something. It's too hot in
- 30:25Speaker 1: the car, turn the air cold, the seat, don't recline,
- 30:30Speaker 1: it's not why why I'm not breaking fast enough? Like
- 30:35Speaker 1: it's something no whole time. You ain't got no snacks
- 30:38Speaker 1: in your car, Like it's something like it's something you
- 30:42Speaker 1: ain't got no games, you ain't gonna like it's something
- 30:45Speaker 1: the whole time.
- 30:47Speaker 3: So I love that. I love that promise. Yeah, we're
- 30:55Speaker 3: like I have lost my mind and I'm like, no,
- 30:57Speaker 3: this is is my plan. We having a conversation. I
- 31:00Speaker 3: wonder why you got to do this.
- 31:02Speaker 1: We are a bad passenger. I was just like, I'm sorry,
- 31:06Speaker 1: but I'm a bad passenger.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I get it, get it, I got question, question, I'm
- 31:14Speaker 3: gonna get an answer. I definitely.
- 31:18Speaker 5: I'm not gonna get But it's gonna be a real
- 31:22Speaker 5: short answer, like because I said so, or you're gonna
- 31:25Speaker 5: do it or not. And I know you get a
- 31:27Speaker 5: lot of I'm getting a lot of humm. I'm like,
- 31:33Speaker 5: what is father, You're gonna do it right?
- 31:37Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, it's the second guess. And that's just like
- 31:40Speaker 1: the book that I just completed.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Now.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I started that book back in January February. Sometimes I
- 31:48Speaker 1: wrote live chapters and I stopped, and I just stopped.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I have no rhyme reason or purpose for stopping.
- 31:58Speaker 3: I just stop.
- 32:01Speaker 1: And I was like, Okay, I have to finish this
- 32:05Speaker 1: because I'm gonna be moving. I got some things that
- 32:09Speaker 1: have that have to be done. And so in the
- 32:11Speaker 1: midst of all of that, I was like, okay, gotta look, look,
- 32:14Speaker 1: I gotta do this. I gotta I gotta finish it.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So in the midst of me packing, it's stuff in disarray,
- 32:20Speaker 1: it's stuff everywhere. And so I wrote the last two
- 32:24Speaker 1: chapters six and seven, and so like, okay, I'm gonna
- 32:27Speaker 1: complete it. And so I completed and you know, it
- 32:30Speaker 1: takes seventy two hours for it to accepting. I finished
- 32:35Speaker 1: that book Sunday night at no early Sunday morning at
- 32:42Speaker 1: about eight thirty. I'm thinking it's going to be Wednesday
- 32:51Speaker 1: Thursday before I hear anything from them. It was Monday, Monday,
- 32:59Speaker 1: and I was like, well, I said, wait. I was
- 33:02Speaker 1: confused because I'm like, wait, no, it never happens that quickly.
- 33:10Speaker 1: What's you doing? But the title of the book is
- 33:13Speaker 1: God never counted me out? So all right, this this,
- 33:18Speaker 1: this is what you do. Okay, I'm gonna stay over here.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I ain't gotta no, yeah, I'm gonna just stay over here.
- 33:25Speaker 1: The crazy part about that is I hadn't even ordered
- 33:29Speaker 1: my own Arthur copies yet because I didn't want to
- 33:32Speaker 1: them because I was. My brother ordered his and got
- 33:37Speaker 1: his book Wednesday. I'm a little salty a little bit because, yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 1: a little saucy because he got his book and I
- 33:49Speaker 1: ain't even got my author copy yet. So yeah, i'm
- 33:53Speaker 1: a little but yeah, I'm a little saucy about it.
- 33:57Speaker 1: But it is.
- 33:58Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 33:59Speaker 1: But I want to thank you for being with me
- 34:02Speaker 1: tonight and homs and Happy Mother's Day to the mothers
- 34:09Speaker 1: who tuned in tonight.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Love on your mom.
- 34:12Speaker 1: If you haven't called her yet, call her and tell
- 34:15Speaker 1: her Happy Mother's day, even if your center text, send
- 34:21Speaker 1: her email, serre facts, something, because you will not be
- 34:26Speaker 1: living if you did not do that. So just acknowledge
- 34:30Speaker 1: the fact that she gave you life. If nothing else,
- 34:34Speaker 1: do that. But I thank you guys for tuning in.
- 34:38Speaker 1: I thank you for being here with me tonight, and
- 34:42Speaker 1: remember to stay out of God's business. The only thing
- 34:45Speaker 1: that he needs you to do is to be obedient
- 34:47Speaker 1: to what He's called you to do. Until next time.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I'll see you guys in two weeks. Love you, good night,
- 34:55Speaker 1: Love you, Love you too. Good night,
