- 0:03Speaker 1: that feature that requires you to interact with us. I know,
- 0:07Speaker 1: I know that doesn't Maybe that doesn't sound that fun,
- 0:10Speaker 1: do you? But I could be. It's Veterans Day. We
- 0:13Speaker 1: could talk about we could talk to veterans. It's just
- 0:16Speaker 1: a simple feature called hello, yeah what.
- 0:18Speaker 2: It's whatever you want it to be your voice on
- 0:22Speaker 2: the radio. Right now there are people driving to work
- 0:24Speaker 2: and school.
- 0:25Speaker 1: What do you want to say to day? Yeah, make
- 0:27Speaker 1: your own little radio moment here. It's simple. It's just hello, yeah, what?
- 0:33Speaker 3: Hello?
- 0:34Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:34Speaker 4: What?
- 0:36Speaker 2: While we're waiting for calls? Can I read something?
- 0:38Speaker 5: Sure?
- 0:39Speaker 1: Did you read it out loud? It would be more interesting.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Fest has sent this to us a couple of years
- 0:46Speaker 2: ago on Veterans Day, and I think it's a nice
- 0:49Speaker 2: thing to read on Veterans Day, My sailor son, dear
- 0:54Speaker 2: friends of the radio from Hell show.
- 0:56Speaker 5: As I write this, it's Veterans Day eve. The men
- 0:59Speaker 5: and women of are.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Armed forces or nestled soundly in their camouflaged pajamas, and
- 1:04Speaker 2: Santa Biden is prepared to delayor plentiful gifts of protein,
- 1:08Speaker 2: powder and ammunition. As I lay here, I can't help,
- 1:11Speaker 2: but reflect on how grateful I am to be part
- 1:13Speaker 2: of such a fraternity, free healthcare and ten percent off
- 1:16Speaker 2: Buffalo Wild Wings.
- 1:17Speaker 5: It's a dream come true.
- 1:19Speaker 2: On a serious note, to all my fellow soldiers, sailors, airmen,
- 1:22Speaker 2: and Marines past and present, I do want to express
- 1:24Speaker 2: my sincere gratitude. Since joining the Navy, I've realized what
- 1:28Speaker 2: a privilege it is to serve our country. I've met
- 1:30Speaker 2: so many amazing, selfless people, people who have dreamed about
- 1:33Speaker 2: being in the military from a very young age, people
- 1:36Speaker 2: who join to make a better life for their families,
- 1:38Speaker 2: and people who joined because they had nowhere else to go.
- 1:41Speaker 2: For anyone who's lost or unsure of what they want
- 1:43Speaker 2: to do, the military provides young men and women with
- 1:45Speaker 2: structure and guidance it's hard to find elsewhere. I'm incredibly
- 1:48Speaker 2: thankful for the people I work with for teaching me
- 1:51Speaker 2: so much, and all my leadership guiding me along the way.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I want to thank everyone back home as well, all
- 1:56Speaker 2: my friends and family that continue to reach out to me,
- 1:58Speaker 2: as well as all the listensteners of this show. I
- 2:01Speaker 2: can't help but be jealous of all of you driving
- 2:03Speaker 2: to work with seeing those sunrise over those mountains. This
- 2:07Speaker 2: is when he lived in Florida.
- 2:08Speaker 5: He said.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Florida's flat as hell, man, But the island he's on
- 2:11Speaker 2: now is also flat. Anyway, I better go, leave my
- 2:13Speaker 2: boots by the door and get to bed. Santa Biden
- 2:15Speaker 2: only comes if you're sleeping. Don't forget to remain seated,
- 2:18Speaker 2: and be nice to my mama while I'm gone.
- 2:21Speaker 1: That's right. Happy birthday, Gina, by the way, Thank you.
- 2:26Speaker 1: All right, we got some people who want to check
- 2:28Speaker 1: with us.

- 2:49Speaker 7: through their construction, and I wanted to remind our friends
- 2:53Speaker 7: of following distances. I want everyone to imagine they have
- 2:57Speaker 7: the stopping distance of a semi because if you do
- 3:01Speaker 7: that and you just don't touch your brakes, I swear
- 3:05Speaker 7: you get to where you're going faster.
- 3:07Speaker 8: He feels slower.
- 3:08Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, you're supposed to leave a car length
- 3:10Speaker 2: for every ten miles an hour you're driving.
- 3:13Speaker 5: That's a good.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Thank you Liam, see you later.

- 4:10Speaker 9: I also I wanted to give my dad a shout out.
- 4:13Speaker 9: He's a he's a Navy veteran. He was in the CEBES,
- 4:16Speaker 9: the construction Battalion, uh huh, and he he served in Vietnam.
- 4:21Speaker 9: So I just wanted to say heavy veterans.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Daid, my dad, Is he by any chance listening?
- 4:28Speaker 9: I can tell him later. He probably was not listening.
- 4:30Speaker 9: Now I will, I will play it. I'll play it
- 4:33Speaker 9: for him on YouTube later.
- 4:34Speaker 1: What's your dad's what's your dad's name?
- 4:37Speaker 9: His name is Roger, but he goes by Skip.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I don't want to know why. I don't think i'd rather.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Be I never asked him why.
- 4:44Speaker 9: Actually, I still don't even know why.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think i'd rather be Ski. So, so you've known
- 4:51Speaker 1: him for forty five years. I think it's high time
- 4:53Speaker 1: you found out. Next time we talk to you, you
- 4:56Speaker 1: damn well better know why he goes by Skip.
- 4:59Speaker 11: Yeah, okay, I'll have some answer for you, all right,
- 5:03Speaker 11: thank you?
- 5:06Speaker 8: Hello?
- 5:06Speaker 1: Yeah, what we've had some salutes to veterans because it's
- 5:10Speaker 1: Veterans Day, uh and uh whatever, but whatever you want.
- 5:14Speaker 5: All right, let's begin with Scott what Scott?
- 5:18Speaker 3: Hi?
- 5:18Speaker 1: Good morning? What's up?
- 5:21Speaker 2: A Hi?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, good morning. Just wanted to add my expression of
- 5:24Speaker 3: thanks to the veterans to the others that have been voiced,
- 5:27Speaker 3: and then also to Judge Gibson for siding with the
- 5:32Speaker 3: plaintiff's MAP one and rejecting Utah legislature's cherrymandered maps.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's uh, it's she's she's facing a lot of criticism,
- 5:42Speaker 1: uh for what she did.
- 5:44Speaker 5: But I don't know why she followed the law. I
- 5:46Speaker 5: don't know why that's CRITO.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I took a certain amount of bravery to do that
- 5:52Speaker 1: because she's probably she's probably getting a lot of uh,
- 5:58Speaker 1: you know, name calling and things that we don't know about. Uh,
- 6:01Speaker 1: just at her I'm guessing at her home. I'll bet
- 6:05Speaker 1: you anything, because that's how politics works.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Now, I'm just name calling and worse for sure.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so followed the law, so uh so good honor,
- 6:15Speaker 1: she's that's a pretty brave thing, I think. Thanks for
- 6:19Speaker 1: checking in with us, of course. All right, see you later, Scott.
- 6:24Speaker 5: All right, let's go to uh what Kara?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Hi, Kara, Kara. You are the only call we have
- 6:31Speaker 1: at the moment. But what's up with you?
- 6:33Speaker 12: Because I've been told I can talk a lot anyway.
- 6:38Speaker 12: I wanted to wish Gina a happy birthday, and I
- 6:42Speaker 12: celebrate all that long too, so I'm excited to hear
- 6:46Speaker 12: about your adventures.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Okay, your birthday adventures, and.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Man Bill must have a lot planned because I wasn't
- 6:53Speaker 2: planning on doing anything else. But Bill's got a lot
- 6:55Speaker 2: planned to celebrate my birth.
- 6:57Speaker 6: If you only knew, that's that's a heavy load you're
- 7:03Speaker 6: telling me.
- 7:03Speaker 12: I want to give a shout out to my dad.
- 7:07Speaker 12: He's a marine veteran. He serves in Vietnam. He is
- 7:11Speaker 12: not going to hear this because he's seventy six. He
- 7:15Speaker 12: just beat cancer and plays pickleball every Monday, Wed Friday.
- 7:22Speaker 12: Good for him, excellent, Yeah, at seven am, and he
- 7:26Speaker 12: sleeps in on Tuesday Thursday. So I'm going to play
- 7:29Speaker 12: it for him later.
- 7:30Speaker 5: What's his name?
- 7:31Speaker 12: He's amazing, Marty Marty.
- 7:34Speaker 5: And was he a Vietnam in Vietnam VET Vietnam VET.
- 7:38Speaker 12: And he actually was just awarded a quilt of honor
- 7:41Speaker 12: by his community and they had a little celebration for him,
- 7:46Speaker 12: and that was the first time he's told stories.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to ask you. You so you
- 7:53Speaker 1: grew up with a man who saw combat and did
- 7:56Speaker 1: he ever talk about it much?
- 7:59Speaker 12: No, not at all. I mean we he was a
- 8:02Speaker 12: smart guy. So he kind of worked in bunkers and
- 8:06Speaker 12: stuff like that. I don't know exactly what he did.
- 8:08Speaker 12: He wasn't on the front line, but a lot of
- 8:10Speaker 12: his friends were and it was interesting to hear some
- 8:13Speaker 12: of the stories. He had a lot of metals and
- 8:17Speaker 12: not so last year when he had the celebration. I
- 8:20Speaker 12: bought him this display cabinet for the quilt and I
- 8:25Speaker 12: want him to put it somewhere. It's kind of hidden
- 8:28Speaker 12: in a corner. So Dad, you hear this later.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yeah, come on, Marty, be proud, Marty, come on. All right,
- 8:38Speaker 1: thanks for thanks for calling, Kara, and.

- 9:13Speaker 13: to pick up that record if you want to pick
- 9:14Speaker 13: it up. And both bands, the Plastic Trees and Mouth
- 9:18Speaker 13: will be performing and the artist Crystal Dawn will have
- 9:22Speaker 13: her artwork for So there.
- 9:24Speaker 1: That's a really nice album cover, really good.

- 9:57Speaker 1: Thanks Eddie, thank you.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Oh bye, let's go to Scott Scott.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, what pust Scott? What's up?
- 10:06Speaker 8: Hello? How are we doing today?
- 10:07Speaker 1: Good? Just fine? What do you have for us?
- 10:10Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 10:10Speaker 10: So I called in a little while ago.
- 10:12Speaker 8: I just opened SLC Pub over there on Gallay Avenue
- 10:17Speaker 8: near you guys. I talked about the chili dogs, but
- 10:20Speaker 8: I want to let everyone know that our whole goal
- 10:23Speaker 8: is to be a great neighborhood and affordable pub. So
- 10:28Speaker 8: we have everyday cocktails that are seven dollars that are
- 10:32Speaker 8: have fun movie title names inspired like the eraser Head
- 10:37Speaker 8: Smile usob and we've got a three dollars pub draft
- 10:42Speaker 8: beer every day. And Bill, I don't know if you
- 10:45Speaker 8: can reinforce this idea but we sell Elijah Craig for
- 10:48Speaker 8: six dollars, which is a great bourbon, and that's it's a.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Great price for that. That is a good price. So
- 10:54Speaker 1: it's what's the name of your place again, SLC Pub
- 10:59Speaker 1: And you're on Gallivan Gallivan over there kind of behind yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 1: right behind channel two.
- 11:05Speaker 2: That that eraserhead drink sounds dangerous. What's in the erasery.
- 11:11Speaker 8: That That is a coffee inspired drink, like somewhat along
- 11:16Speaker 8: the lines of a mind e racer.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Okay, it's it's a good one.
- 11:21Speaker 8: Yeah, we've got a ticky one that it's called SLC Funk.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 8: No, some some great and affordable cocktails for people to
- 11:28Speaker 8: come check out.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And I could go for a chili dog too, I'll
- 11:31Speaker 1: tell you that. All right, thank you, thank you.
- 11:33Speaker 8: Yeah, I'd love to bring you guys some one day.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I'd love to.
- 11:36Speaker 1: All right, well set it up with Katie. Thank you.
- 11:39Speaker 8: I can do that, Okay, guys, appreciate it.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Yeah, let's go to oh Demetrius here, Hello, Yeah, what hello,
- 11:47Speaker 6: dimeitra my dear.
- 11:49Speaker 8: And Hi.
- 11:50Speaker 14: I just wanted to call because my father served in
- 11:53Speaker 14: the Army reserves for ten years and then he passed
- 11:58Speaker 14: away months ago. He got military honors, which was really nice.
- 12:04Speaker 4: As the cemetery.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Yeah, they they do a salute, a gun salute.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it was really nice because they had the bugles,
- 12:15Speaker 4: you know, playing cats or whatever it is, and it
- 12:18Speaker 4: was really nice. My my dad didn't say see combat,
- 12:23Speaker 4: but my mom did because he was a kid in
- 12:27Speaker 4: Crete when the Germans invaded and her and her seven
- 12:31Speaker 4: siblings all went and hid in a cave and anyway,
- 12:38Speaker 4: long story, but anyway, I just thought i'd.
- 12:42Speaker 11: Call, uh, Now, this is a Nissa who called in
- 12:50Speaker 11: during Frank christ or high.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Hi Anisa, and she knows the origin of her name.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Oh all right, I do.
- 12:59Speaker 5: So.
- 13:00Speaker 10: My mother named me Anissa after Anissa Jones. She was
- 13:06Speaker 10: in Family Affair.
- 13:08Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 13:11Speaker 12: Of the very old show.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yes, is that the one with mister Frank the butler
- 13:16Speaker 1: Brian Keith and Brian Keith was the dad.
- 13:20Speaker 10: Yes, yeah, I don't think I've seen very many episodes.
- 13:23Speaker 10: But so my mother spelled it like she did, because
- 13:28Speaker 10: that's how Anissa Jones spelled her name. And I have
- 13:31Speaker 10: spent my.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Entire life correct yes, the way.
- 13:35Speaker 10: That my name is pronounced. Sorry, that's okay, Oh, it
- 13:41Speaker 10: totally looks like and my husband makes fun of me.
- 13:45Speaker 10: He goes, He tells me that when people call me Anissa,
- 13:48Speaker 10: I go, it's.
- 13:51Speaker 1: No way, no way, no way.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Does it spelled A and E E N no no
- 13:56Speaker 2: A N I s s A.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so that would be.
- 13:59Speaker 10: An I have h Yeah, I had Katie Spillett like that.
- 14:03Speaker 10: And sometimes I do that and I call in because
- 14:06Speaker 10: I'm kind of crazy and I love listening to y'all
- 14:09Speaker 10: and call him and occasionally.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Does make you crazy?
- 14:14Speaker 7: It does.
- 14:15Speaker 10: And I'm excited for the chicken bucket with no chicken.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Make sure you take a picture. Make sure you take
- 14:23Speaker 1: a picture of you wearing the chicken bucket as a hat.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Yes, I absolutely will.
- 14:30Speaker 10: And on that note, just quick, do you all listen
- 14:32Speaker 10: to Bucketheads?
- 14:35Speaker 1: I have heard.
- 14:36Speaker 5: Yes, Oh my gosh, he's.
- 14:39Speaker 10: An amazing artist. I'll send my bucke ahead.
- 14:43Speaker 5: All right, thank you, thank you, thank you very much.
- 14:46Speaker 1: My son loves buckethead. Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 5: But you know, at what point.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Do you just give up, just let your let your
- 14:55Speaker 6: name be pronounced wrong? Yeah, because he's because it's cheeny,
- 15:01Speaker 6: but he just kind of went, you know, I'm tired
- 15:04Speaker 6: of Yeah, if I if I were Anissa, I would Vanessa.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I would be Vanessa Asa. I just go with it.
- 15:12Speaker 5: This is just another lesson.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And if you're having kids and naming them, think about
- 15:17Speaker 2: these things and will help you name your kids. You
- 15:20Speaker 2: can do that on Hello Yeah what too? If if
- 15:22Speaker 2: you need help naming your children, yes we can help.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah what
