• 1:20
  Well,

  you
• 1:21
  so
• 1:21
  much
• 1:21
  for

• 1:22
  Yeah,

  I'm

  we

  fishing
• 1:27
  season
• 1:27
  on
• 1:28
  Lake
• 1:28
  Champlain?
• 1:29
  It
• 1:29
  was
• 1:30
  spectacular.
• 1:32
  It
• 1:32
  was,
• 1:32
  it
• 1:32
  was
• 1:33
  great.
• 1:33
  It
• 1:33
  was,
• 1:33
  it
• 1:33
  was
• 1:33
  really
• 1:34
  interesting.
• 1:35
  We
• 1:35
  didn't
• 1:36
  get
• 1:36
  a
• 1:36
  super
• 1:36
  high
• 1:36
  water
• 1:37
  spring
• 1:38
  and
• 1:38
  we
• 1:38
  didn't
• 1:39
  get
• 1:39
  a
• 1:39
  lot
• 1:39
  of,
• 1:39
  a
• 1:40
  lot
• 1:40
  of
• 1:40
  water,
• 1:40
  which
• 1:40
  is
• 1:40
  different
• 1:41
  than
• 1:41
  the
• 1:42
  prior
• 1:42
  two
• 1:42
  summers.
• 1:43
  And
• 1:43
  we
• 1:43
  ended
• 1:44
  up
• 1:44
  with
• 1:45
  an
• 1:45
  almost
• 1:46
  record
• 1:47
  low
• 1:47
  lake
• 1:47
  level
• 1:48
  on
• 1:48
  the,
• 1:48
  on
• 1:49
  the
• 1:49
  lake
• 1:49
  and,
• 1:50
  which
• 1:51
  is,
• 1:51
  which
• 1:51
  is
• 1:52
  really
• 1:52
  cool.
• 1:52
  You
• 1:52
  know,
• 1:53
  I,
• 1:53
  I
• 1:53
  think
• 1:53
  in
• 1:53
  the
• 1:54
  last
• 1:54
  podcast
• 1:54
  I,
• 1:54
  I
• 1:55
  really
• 1:55
  emphasized
• 1:56
  what
• 1:56
  a
• 1:56
  dynamic
• 1:56
  system
• 1:57
  Lake
• 1:57
  Champlain
• 1:58
  is,
• 1:58
  and
• 1:58
  this
• 1:58
  is
• 1:58
  another
• 1:59
  example
• 1:59
  of
• 1:59
  it.
• 1:59
  You
• 1:59
  know,
• 2:00
  I'm
• 2:00
  used
• 2:00
  to,
• 2:00
  used
• 2:01
  to
• 2:01
  having,
• 2:02
  you
• 2:02
  know,
• 2:02
  fluctuation
• 2:03
  of,
• 2:03
  of,
• 2:03
  you
• 2:04
  know,
• 2:04
  five
• 2:04
  to
• 2:04
  six
• 2:04
  feet
• 2:05
  throughout
• 2:05
  the
• 2:05
  season,
• 2:07
  but
• 2:07
  I
• 2:07
  have
• 2:08
  never
• 2:08
  seen
• 2:08
  a
• 2:08
  lake
• 2:08
  this
• 2:09
  low
• 2:09
  which,
• 2:10
  which
• 2:11
  showed
• 2:11
  a
• 2:11
  lot
• 2:11
  of
• 2:11
  structure
• 2:12
  and
• 2:13
  helped
• 2:13
  me
• 2:13
  understand
• 2:14
  like,
• 2:14
  wow,
• 2:14
  I,
• 2:15
  now
• 2:15
  I
• 2:15
  know
• 2:16
  why
• 2:16
  the
• 2:16
  fish
• 2:16
  are
• 2:16
  hanging
• 2:17
  in
• 2:17
  that
• 2:17
  spot.
• 2:19
  So
• 2:19
  it
• 2:19
  definitely
• 2:20
  gave
• 2:20
  a
• 2:21
  very
• 2:21
  different
• 2:21
  perspective
• 2:22
  and,
• 2:22
  and
• 2:22
  a
• 2:23
  lot
• 2:23
  of
• 2:23
  gu
• 2:24
  drones.
• 2:25
  So
• 2:25
  there's
• 2:25
  a
• 2:25
  lot
• 2:26
  of
• 2:26
  really
• 2:26
  cool
• 2:26
  drone
• 2:27
  footage.
• 2:28
  So
• 2:28
  even
• 2:28
  the
• 2:29
  spots
• 2:29
  that
• 2:29
  I
• 2:29
  wasn't
• 2:29
  able
• 2:30
  to,
• 2:30
  to
• 2:30
  check
• 2:31
  out,
• 2:32
  there's
• 2:32
  videos
• 2:33
  that
• 2:33
  I
• 2:33
  can
• 2:33
  use
• 2:33
  to,
• 2:34
  to,
• 2:35
  to
• 2:35
  help
• 2:36
  help
• 2:36
  me
• 2:37
  figure
• 2:37
  out
• 2:37
  what's
• 2:37
  going
• 2:38
  on
• 2:38
  in
• 2:38
  different
• 2:38
  places.
• 2:39
  So
• 2:39
  yeah,
• 2:39
  it
• 2:39
  was
• 2:40
  a
• 2:40
  really
• 2:40
  interesting
• 2:40
  season.
• 2:41
  But
• 2:42
  the,
• 2:42
  the
• 2:42
  fishing
• 2:43
  was,
• 2:43
  was
• 2:44
  spectacular.
• 2:45
  Bowfin
• 2:46
  were
• 2:47
  everywhere.
• 2:48
  It
• 2:49
  was,
• 2:49
  it
• 2:49
  was
• 2:49
  actually
• 2:50
  one
• 2:50
  of
• 2:50
  the
• 2:50
  best
• 2:50
  bowfin
• 2:51
  years
• 2:51
  I've,
• 2:52
  I've
• 2:53
  seen
• 2:53
  in
• 2:53
  a
• 2:54
  long,
• 2:54
  long
• 2:54
  time.
• 2:55
  Which
• 2:55
  was
• 2:55
  really
• 2:56
  heartening.
• 2:58
  That
• 2:59
  was,
• 2:59
  it
• 2:59
  was
• 2:59
  a
• 2:59
  fantastic
• 3:00
  season.
• 3:00
  The
• 3:00
  Lakers
• 3:01
  were,
• 3:01
  Lakers
• 3:01
  were
• 3:01
  on
• 3:02
  fire
• 3:03
  in
• 3:03
  November.
• 3:04
  Had
• 3:05
  a
• 3:05
  great
• 3:05
  guide
• 3:06
  season.
• 3:07
  I
• 3:07
  was
• 3:07
  really
• 3:08
  surprised,
• 3:08
  happily
• 3:09
  surprised
• 3:10
  at
• 3:10
  how
• 3:10
  many
• 3:11
  people
• 3:11
  hit
• 3:11
  me
• 3:12
  up
• 3:12
  for
• 3:12
  Laker
• 3:13
  trips
• 3:13
  towards
• 3:14
  the
• 3:14
  end
• 3:14
  of
• 3:14
  the
• 3:14
  year,
• 3:15
  which
• 3:16
  is
• 3:16
  great.
• 3:18
  It
• 3:18
  was
• 3:18
  a,
• 3:18
  it
• 3:18
  was
• 3:19
  a,
• 3:19
  it
• 3:19
  was
• 3:19
  a
• 3:19
  fantastic
• 3:20
  year.
• 3:20
  Yeah,
• 3:21
  I
• 3:21
  understand
• 3:21
  that.
• 3:21
  They're
• 3:21
  good
• 3:22
  smoked,
• 3:22
  right?
• 3:23
  You
• 3:24
  know,
• 3:24
  I
• 3:24
  wouldn't
• 3:24
  know.
• 3:26
  I
• 3:26
  am
• 3:26
  deathly
• 3:27
  allergic
• 3:27
  to
• 3:27
  fish.
• 3:29
  Funny,
• 3:30
  funny
• 3:30
  fact,
• 3:30
  right?
• 3:31
  It's
• 3:31
  a
• 3:32
  funny
• 3:32
  fact.
• 3:32
  It
• 3:33
  is
• 3:33
  a
• 3:33
  funny
• 3:33
  fact.
• 3:33
  You
• 3:34
  know,
• 3:34
  my,
• 3:34
  my
• 3:34
  whole
• 3:35
  life
• 3:35
  ends
• 3:35
  up
• 3:35
  revolving
• 3:36
  around
• 3:36
  fish
• 3:37
  in
• 3:37
  some
• 3:37
  way
• 3:37
  or
• 3:37
  another.
• 3:38
  You
• 3:39
  know,
• 3:39
  not
• 3:39
  only
• 3:39
  am
• 3:39
  I
• 3:40
  definitely
• 3:40
  allergic
• 3:40
  to
• 3:40
  fish,
• 3:41
  but
• 3:41
  I'm
• 3:41
  also
• 3:41
  Pisces.
• 3:42
  So
• 3:42
  you
• 3:43
  know,
• 3:43
  it's,
• 3:43
  it's
• 3:44
  one
• 3:44
  of
• 3:44
  those
• 3:44
  things.
• 3:46
  It's
• 3:46
  kind
• 3:46
  of,
• 3:46
  kind
• 3:46
  of.
• 3:47
  Even
• 3:47
  if
• 3:47
  I
• 3:48
  try
• 3:48
  to
• 3:48
  escape
• 3:48
  it,
• 3:48
  I
• 3:48
  can't.
• 3:51
  Very
• 3:51
  neat.
• 3:51
  And
• 3:51
  you
• 3:52
  know,
• 3:52
  we
• 3:52
  had
• 3:52
  the
• 3:52
  chance
• 3:52
  I
• 3:52
  guess
• 3:53
  to
• 3:53
  meet
• 3:53
  in
• 3:53
  person

  weeks
• 3:54
  ago
• 3:54
  in
• 3:54
  Edison
• 3:55
  and
• 3:55
  I
• 3:56
  think
• 3:56
  that
• 3:56
  was
• 3:56
  the
• 3:56
  first
• 3:56
  time
• 3:57
  you'd
• 3:57
  gone
• 3:57
  to
• 3:57
  that
• 3:57
  show.
• 3:57
  How
• 3:58
  was
• 3:58
  the
• 3:58
  show
• 3:58
  for
• 3:58
  you?
• 3:59
  Oh,
• 3:59
  that
• 3:59
  was
• 3:59
  great.
• 4:00
  It
• 4:00
  was
• 4:00
  the
• 4:00
  first
• 4:00
  time
• 4:00
  I,
• 4:00
  you
• 4:01
  know
• 4:01
  I
• 4:01
  attended
• 4:01
  it
• 4:02
  the
• 4:03
  year
• 4:03
  prior
• 4:04
  last
• 4:05
  year,
• 4:05
  but
• 4:05
  that
• 4:06
  was
• 4:06
  the
• 4:06
  first
• 4:06
  time
• 4:06
  as
• 4:07
  a,
• 4:07
  as
• 4:07
  a
• 4:07
  tire
• 4:08
  and
• 4:08
  presenter
• 4:09
  and
• 4:09
  I
• 4:09
  was
• 4:10
  signing
• 4:10
  my
• 4:10
  book.
• 4:11
  It
• 4:11
  was
• 4:11
  great.
• 4:12
  I
• 4:12
  had
• 4:12
  a
• 4:12
  lot
• 4:12
  of
• 4:13
  fun.
• 4:13
  It
• 4:13
  was
• 4:13
  a
• 4:14
  little
• 4:14
  bit
• 4:14
  above
• 4:14
  a
• 4:15
  bummer.
• 4:15
  Had
• 4:15
  to
• 4:15
  cut
• 4:15
  it
• 4:16
  short.
• 4:16
  We,
• 4:16
  we
• 4:16
  got,
• 4:17
  we
• 4:17
  got
• 4:17
  hit
• 4:17
  a,
• 4:19
  a
• 4:19
  big
• 4:19
  blizzard
• 4:20
  and
• 4:20
  most
• 4:21
  people
• 4:22
  took
• 4:22
  off
• 4:22
  on
• 4:23
  Saturday
• 4:23
  so
• 4:24
  didn't
• 4:24
  really
• 4:24
  get
• 4:24
  to
• 4:25
  hang
• 4:25
  around
• 4:25
  for
• 4:25
  Sunday.
• 4:25
  I,
• 4:26
  I,
• 4:26
  I
• 4:27
  chose
• 4:27
  to
• 4:28
  be
• 4:28
  cautious
• 4:28
  and
• 4:29
  I
• 4:29
  drove
• 4:29
  home
• 4:29
  in
• 4:29
  the
• 4:29
  middle
• 4:30
  of
• 4:30
  the
• 4:30
  night
• 4:30
  and
• 4:30
  I'm
• 4:30
  glad
• 4:30
  I
• 4:31
  did
• 4:31
  because
• 4:32
  the
• 4:32
  roads
• 4:32
  were,
• 4:33
  would
• 4:33
  have
• 4:33
  been
• 4:33
  a,
• 4:34
  an
• 4:34
  absolute
• 4:35
  nightmare
• 4:35
  to
• 4:35
  get,
• 4:36
  get
• 4:36
  home
• 4:37
  and
• 4:39
  I'd
• 4:40
  much
• 4:40
  rather
• 4:40
  have
• 4:40
  a,
• 4:41
  a
• 4:41
  tiring
• 4:42
  five
• 4:42
  hour
• 4:43
  drive
• 4:43
  than
• 4:43
  a
• 4:44
  12
• 4:44
  hour
• 4:44
  nightmare
• 4:46
  in
• 4:46
  bad.
• 4:50
  But
• 4:50
  it
• 4:50
  was
• 4:50
  great.
• 4:51
  Got
• 4:51
  to
• 4:51
  see
• 4:51
  a
• 4:51
  lot
• 4:51
  of
• 4:52
  people.
• 4:53
  Had
• 4:53
  a
• 4:53
  great
• 4:53
  presentation
• 4:55
  that
• 4:55
  I
• 4:56
  did.
• 4:56
  Seasons
• 4:57
  of
• 4:57
  Lake
• 4:57
  Champlain,
• 4:58
  fly
• 4:58
  fishing,
• 4:59
  New
• 4:59
  England's
• 4:59
  west
• 5:00
  coast,
• 5:01
  which
• 5:01
  was,
• 5:02
  which
• 5:02
  is
• 5:02
  cool.
• 5:02
  It
• 5:03
  was
• 5:03
  well
• 5:03
  attended.
• 5:04
  So.
• 5:05
  Yeah.
• 5:05
  And
• 5:05
  got
• 5:06
  to
• 5:06
  see
• 5:06
  a
• 5:06
  lot
• 5:06
  of
• 5:06
  folks
• 5:06
  I
• 5:07
  don't
• 5:07
  get
• 5:07
  to
• 5:07
  see.
• 5:07
  Including
• 5:08
  yourself.
• 5:08
  Yeah.
• 5:09
  Very,
• 5:09
  very
• 5:09
  neat.
• 5:09
  Yeah.
• 5:10
  I
• 5:10
  think
• 5:10
  I
• 5:10
  told
• 5:10
  you
• 5:10
  before
• 5:10
  we
• 5:11
  started
• 5:11
  recording.
• 5:11
  I
• 5:12
  feel
• 5:12
  like
• 5:13
  I've
• 5:13
  kind
• 5:13
  of
• 5:13
  pushed
• 5:14
  my
• 5:14
  luck
• 5:14
  on
• 5:14
  the
• 5:14
  travel
• 5:15
  front
• 5:15
  because
• 5:15
  I
• 5:15
  successfully
• 5:16
  made
• 5:17
  it
• 5:17
  to
• 5:17
  and
• 5:17
  from
• 5:17
  Edison
• 5:18
  and
• 5:18
  to
• 5:18
  and
• 5:18
  from
• 5:18
  Bob
• 5:19
  in
• 5:19
  the
• 5:19
  Hood.
• 5:19
  In
• 5:19
  Michigan
• 5:19
  with
• 5:20
  two
• 5:20
  weather
• 5:20
  events
• 5:21
  both
• 5:21
  weekends.
• 5:22
  Yeah,
• 5:23
  yeah,
• 5:24
  dodged
• 5:24
  a
• 5:24
  bullet.
• 5:25
  Yeah.
• 5:25
  So
• 5:26
  I'm
• 5:26
  sure
• 5:26
  it'll
• 5:26
  come
• 5:26
  back
• 5:26
  to
• 5:26
  haunt
• 5:27
  me
• 5:27
  at
• 5:27
  some
• 5:27
  point.
• 5:27
  But
• 5:29
  you
• 5:29
  know,
• 5:29
  kind
• 5:30
  of
• 5:30
  funny,
• 5:30
  you
• 5:30
  know,
• 5:31
  your
• 5:31
  book
• 5:31
  Favorite
• 5:31
  Flies
• 5:32
  for
• 5:32
  Vermont
• 5:32
  dropped,
• 5:33
  I
• 5:33
  don't
• 5:33
  know,
• 5:33
  right
• 5:33
  before
• 5:34
  Edison.
• 5:34
  And
• 5:35
  it's
• 5:35
  kind
• 5:35
  of
• 5:35
  curious,
• 5:35
  you
• 5:36
  know,
• 5:36
  where
• 5:36
  did
• 5:36
  the
• 5:36
  idea
• 5:36
  for
• 5:37
  the
• 5:37
  book
• 5:37
  come
• 5:37
  from?
• 5:38
  Well,
• 5:38
  that
• 5:39
  I
• 5:39
  have
• 5:40
  a,
• 5:42
  a
• 5:42
  huge
• 5:42
  thank
• 5:43
  you
• 5:43
  to
• 5:44
  send
• 5:44
  out
• 5:44
  to
• 5:44
  Tom
• 5:44
  Rosenbauer.
• 5:46
  Tom
• 5:46
  and
• 5:46
  I
• 5:46
  were
• 5:46
  fishing
• 5:47
  few
• 5:48
  years
• 5:48
  ago
• 5:49
  and
• 5:49
  he
• 5:49
  was
• 5:49
  in
• 5:49
  the
• 5:50
  front
• 5:50
  of
• 5:50
  my
• 5:50
  boat.
• 5:50
  We
• 5:50
  were
• 5:51
  push.
• 5:51
  Pulling
• 5:51
  along
• 5:51
  this
• 5:52
  looking
• 5:52
  for
• 5:52
  gar
• 5:53
  and
• 5:54
  carp.
• 5:55
  And
• 5:55
  he
• 5:56
  just
• 5:56
  kind
• 5:56
  of
• 5:56
  put
• 5:56
  his
• 5:57
  head
• 5:57
  over
• 5:57
  his
• 5:57
  shoulders
• 5:58
  like
• 5:58
  you
• 5:58
  ever,
• 5:58
  you
• 5:58
  ever
• 5:59
  thought
• 5:59
  about
• 5:59
  writing
• 5:59
  a
• 5:59
  book?
• 6:00
  And
• 6:00
  I
• 6:00
  was
• 6:00
  like,
• 6:01
  yeah,
• 6:01
  I
• 6:01
  have.
• 6:01
  And
• 6:01
  he's
• 6:02
  like,
• 6:02
  you
• 6:02
  know,
• 6:03
  I
• 6:03
  got
• 6:03
  this
• 6:03
  opportunity,
• 6:04
  but
• 6:05
  would
• 6:05
  you,
• 6:05
  would
• 6:06
  you
• 6:06
  be
• 6:06
  interested
• 6:06
  in
• 6:07
  writing
• 6:07
  a
• 6:08
  book
• 6:08
  on
• 6:09
  flies
• 6:09
  for
• 6:09
  Vermont?
• 6:10
  And
• 6:10
  I
• 6:10
  was
• 6:10
  like,
• 6:10
  yeah,
• 6:10
  absolutely,
• 6:11
  man.
• 6:12
  The
• 6:12
  rest
• 6:12
  is
• 6:12
  history.
• 6:13
  He
• 6:13
  put
• 6:13
  me
• 6:13
  in
• 6:13
  touch
• 6:14
  with
• 6:15
  Jay
• 6:15
  Nichols
• 6:16
  and
• 6:18
  got
• 6:18
  it
• 6:19
  together
• 6:19
  and
• 6:20
  you
• 6:20
  know,
• 6:20
  took
• 6:20
  a
• 6:20
  couple
• 6:21
  years
• 6:21
  to.
• 6:22
  Took
• 6:22
  a
• 6:22
  little
• 6:22
  bit
• 6:22
  longer
• 6:23
  than
• 6:23
  I
• 6:23
  originally,
• 6:24
  originally
• 6:24
  expected,
• 6:25
  but
• 6:25
  I'm
• 6:26
  really
• 6:26
  pleased
• 6:27
  with
• 6:27
  the
• 6:27
  results.
• 6:28
  Yeah,
• 6:28
  that's
• 6:29
  really
• 6:29
  neat.
• 6:29
  I
• 6:29
  think
• 6:29
  that's
• 6:30
  part
• 6:30
  of,
• 6:31
  I
• 6:32
  guess
• 6:32
  they've
• 6:32
  got
• 6:32
  the.
• 6:32
  All
• 6:32
  those
• 6:33
  like
• 6:33
  series
• 6:33
  books
• 6:34
  like
• 6:34
  Flies
• 6:34
  of
• 6:34
  Pennsylvania.
• 6:35
  It
• 6:35
  sounds
• 6:35
  like
• 6:36
  that
• 6:36
  book
• 6:36
  is
• 6:36
  part
• 6:36
  of
• 6:36
  that
• 6:36
  series,
• 6:37
  right?
• 6:37
  Yes,
• 6:38
  it
• 6:38
  is.
• 6:38
  It's
• 6:38
  the
• 6:38
  latest
• 6:39
  book
• 6:39
  in
• 6:39
  that
• 6:39
  series.
• 6:40
  The
• 6:40
  first
• 6:40
  book
• 6:41
  was
• 6:42
  by
• 6:42
  Mike
• 6:43
  Valla
• 6:44
  and
• 6:44
  he
• 6:44
  did
• 6:44
  Favorite
• 6:45
  Flies
• 6:45
  for
• 6:45
  the
• 6:45
  Catskills
• 6:47
  and,
• 6:47
  and
• 6:48
  that
• 6:49
  was
• 6:49
  Mike's
• 6:49
  first
• 6:49
  book.
• 6:50
  Mike
• 6:51
  just
• 6:51
  put
• 6:51
  out
• 6:51
  his
• 6:52
  10th
• 6:52
  book,
• 6:53
  which
• 6:53
  is
• 6:53
  a
• 6:53
  fly
• 6:53
  fishing
• 6:54
  guide
• 6:54
  for
• 6:54
  Vermont
• 6:55
  that
• 6:55
  just
• 6:55
  came.
• 6:56
  That
• 6:56
  came
• 6:56
  out
• 6:56
  the
• 6:57
  week
• 6:57
  before
• 6:58
  Edison.
• 7:00
  And,
• 7:00
  and
• 7:00
  I'm
• 7:01
  in
• 7:01
  that
• 7:01
  book
• 7:01
  quite
• 7:01
  a
• 7:01
  bit.
• 7:02
  Mike
• 7:03
  and
• 7:03
  I
• 7:03
  have
• 7:03
  become
• 7:04
  pretty
• 7:04
  good
• 7:04
  friends
• 7:04
  and
• 7:06
  he
• 7:07
  helped
• 7:07
  me
• 7:07
  with
• 7:07
  my
• 7:08
  book
• 7:08
  as
• 7:08
  well.
• 7:08
  So
• 7:09
  that
• 7:09
  was,
• 7:10
  you
• 7:10
  know,
• 7:10
  just
• 7:10
  kind
• 7:11
  of
• 7:11
  one
• 7:11
  of
• 7:11
  those
• 7:11
  nice
• 7:12
  happy
• 7:14
  happenstances,
• 7:15
  you
• 7:15
  know,
• 7:16
  that
• 7:16
  was.
• 7:18
  But
• 7:18
  yeah,
• 7:19
  it's
• 7:19
  a
• 7:19
  great
• 7:20
  book
• 7:20
  series
• 7:20
  that.
• 7:21
  That
• 7:22
  stack
• 7:22
  pole
• 7:22
  has
• 7:23
  out
• 7:23
  and
• 7:24
  you
• 7:24
  know,
• 7:24
  there's.
• 7:25
  I
• 7:25
  don't
• 7:25
  know
• 7:25
  how
• 7:25
  many
• 7:25
  are
• 7:26
  in
• 7:26
  the,
• 7:26
  in
• 7:26
  the
• 7:26
  series,
• 7:27
  but
• 7:28
  it's
• 7:28
  definitely
• 7:29
  a
• 7:29
  great
• 7:29
  book
• 7:30
  series.
• 7:31
  Very
• 7:31
  neat.
• 7:31
  And
• 7:31
  so,
• 7:32
  you
• 7:32
  know,
• 7:32
  who
• 7:32
  did
• 7:33
  you
• 7:33
  write
• 7:33
  the
• 7:33
  book
• 7:33
  for?
• 7:35
  Well,
• 7:35
  I
• 7:35
  mean
• 7:35
  it's,
• 7:36
  it's,
• 7:36
  it's
• 7:36
  a
• 7:36
  book
• 7:37
  for
• 7:39
  really
• 7:39
  for
• 7:39
  fly
• 7:40
  tires
• 7:41
  and
• 7:42
  also
• 7:42
  fly
• 7:42
  anglers.
• 7:45
  Really,
• 7:46
  you
• 7:46
  know,
• 7:47
  it's
• 7:47
  targeted
• 7:47
  for,
• 7:48
  for
• 7:49
  people
• 7:49
  in
• 7:49
  Vermont
• 7:50
  or
• 7:50
  traveling
• 7:50
  to
• 7:51
  Vermont.
• 7:51
  But
• 7:52
  I,
• 7:52
  you
• 7:52
  know,
• 7:52
  I
• 7:53
  think
• 7:53
  a
• 7:53
  lot
• 7:53
  of
• 7:53
  the
• 7:53
  flies
• 7:53
  in
• 7:54
  there
• 7:54
  are
• 7:54
  pretty
• 7:54
  universal.
• 7:55
  I've
• 7:55
  certainly
• 7:56
  caugh
• 7:56
  flies
• 7:57
  fish
• 7:57
  with
• 7:58
  the
• 7:58
  flies
• 7:59
  that
• 7:59
  I
• 7:59
  put
• 7:59
  in
• 7:59
  there
• 8:00
  all
• 8:00
  over
• 8:01
  the
• 8:01
  place.
• 8:03
  You
• 8:03
  know,
• 8:03
  I've
• 8:03
  Got
• 8:05
  most
• 8:05
  of,
• 8:05
  most
• 8:05
  of
• 8:06
  the
• 8:06
  book
• 8:06
  is
• 8:06
  trout
• 8:07
  flies.
• 8:09
  That's
• 8:09
  I
• 8:10
  think
• 8:10
  40
• 8:10
  something
• 8:11
  out
• 8:11
  of
• 8:11
  the
• 8:11
  50
• 8:12
  plus
• 8:13
  flies
• 8:13
  that
• 8:13
  are
• 8:14
  in
• 8:14
  the
• 8:14
  book
• 8:14
  are,
• 8:15
  are
• 8:15
  trout
• 8:15
  flies.
• 8:17
  But
• 8:17
  there's
• 8:17
  a
• 8:17
  lot
• 8:17
  of,
• 8:18
  a
• 8:18
  lot
• 8:18
  of
• 8:18
  those
• 8:18
  patterns
• 8:18
  are
• 8:19
  kind
• 8:19
  of
• 8:19
  crossover
• 8:19
  patterns.
• 8:20
  They
• 8:20
  will
• 8:20
  certainly
• 8:20
  work
• 8:21
  for,
• 8:22
  for
• 8:22
  bass
• 8:22
  or,
• 8:23
  or
• 8:23
  panfish.
• 8:25
  And
• 8:25
  then
• 8:25
  you
• 8:26
  know,
• 8:26
  there's
• 8:26
  a
• 8:26
  number
• 8:26
  of
• 8:28
  warm
• 8:28
  water
• 8:28
  flies,
• 8:29
  including
• 8:30
  one
• 8:30
  of
• 8:30
  my
• 8:30
  bowfin
• 8:31
  flies
• 8:31
  and
• 8:32
  I've
• 8:33
  got
• 8:33
  a
• 8:33
  gar
• 8:33
  fly
• 8:33
  in
• 8:34
  there
• 8:34
  as
• 8:34
  well.
• 8:35
  But
• 8:36
  you
• 8:36
  know,
• 8:36
  the
• 8:36
  target
• 8:37
  audience
• 8:37
  is,
• 8:37
  is
• 8:38
  really
• 8:38
  anybody
• 8:39
  who,
• 8:41
  who
• 8:41
  likes
• 8:42
  to
• 8:42
  tie
• 8:42
  flies
• 8:43
  or,
• 8:43
  or
• 8:43
  is
• 8:43
  interested
• 8:44
  in
• 8:44
  what
• 8:44
  works
• 8:45
  in
• 8:45
  Vermont.
• 8:46
  Yeah,
• 8:46
  I
• 8:46
  think
• 8:47
  there's
• 8:47
  also
• 8:47
  too
• 8:47
  maybe
• 8:48
  a
• 8:48
  nice
• 8:49
  historical
• 8:50
  angle
• 8:50
  too
• 8:50
  because
• 8:50
  Vermont
• 8:51
  and
• 8:51
  New
• 8:51
  England
• 8:51
  is
• 8:52
  so
• 8:52
  important
• 8:52
  to
• 8:52
  our
• 8:53
  fly
• 8:53
  fishing
• 8:53
  heritage
• 8:54
  that
• 8:54
  you
• 8:54
  know,
• 8:54
  there's
• 8:55
  a
• 8:55
  lot
• 8:55
  of
• 8:55
  pattern
• 8:55
  history
• 8:55
  in
• 8:56
  the
• 8:56
  book
• 8:56
  too.
• 8:57
  There,
• 8:57
  there
• 8:57
  really
• 8:58
  is.
• 8:58
  And
• 8:58
  that
• 8:58
  was,
• 8:59
  that
• 8:59
  was
• 8:59
  something
• 8:59
  that
• 8:59
  was
• 9:00
  super,
• 9:00
  super
• 9:01
  important
• 9:01
  to
• 9:01
  me.
• 9:03
  You
• 9:03
  know,
• 9:03
  we
• 9:04
  like
• 9:05
  the,
• 9:05
  some
• 9:05
  of
• 9:05
  the
• 9:06
  first
• 9:06
  commercial
• 9:07
  fly
• 9:07
  tying
• 9:08
  that
• 9:09
  ever
• 9:09
  took
• 9:09
  place
• 9:10
  took
• 9:10
  place
• 9:10
  at
• 9:11
  the
• 9:11
  Orvis
• 9:11
  Company.
• 9:14
  Mary
• 9:15
  Marbury
• 9:16
  Orvis
• 9:16
  or
• 9:17
  Orvis
• 9:17
  Marbarium
• 9:18
  that
• 9:18
  I
• 9:19
  can't
• 9:20
  remember
• 9:20
  at
• 9:20
  the
• 9:20
  moment,
• 9:21
  but
• 9:23
  she
• 9:24
  started
• 9:25
  like
• 9:25
  actually
• 9:26
  having
• 9:26
  the
• 9:26
  patterns
• 9:27
  written
• 9:27
  down
• 9:28
  and
• 9:28
  they
• 9:29
  started
• 9:29
  having
• 9:30
  people
• 9:30
  tying
• 9:30
  them
• 9:31
  in
• 9:31
  Manchester,
• 9:32
  Vermont.
• 9:33
  So
• 9:33
  you
• 9:34
  know,
• 9:34
  like
• 9:34
  the
• 9:35
  industry
• 9:35
  kind
• 9:35
  of
• 9:36
  owes
• 9:36
  a
• 9:36
  huge
• 9:37
  debt
• 9:37
  of
• 9:37
  gratitude
• 9:39
  to,
• 9:39
  to
• 9:40
  Mary
• 9:41
  for
• 9:42
  her
• 9:43
  contribution
• 9:43
  to
• 9:44
  what
• 9:44
  we
• 9:45
  do.
• 9:47
  But
• 9:47
  from
• 9:47
  there
• 9:48
  there's
• 9:48
  some,
• 9:49
  some
• 9:50
  fun
• 9:51
  patterns
• 9:51
  that
• 9:51
  are
• 9:52
  in
• 9:52
  there.
• 9:52
  Like
• 9:52
  the
• 9:52
  Spirit
• 9:52
  of
• 9:53
  Pittsford
• 9:53
  Mills,
• 9:54
  which
• 9:54
  is
• 9:54
  a
• 9:54
  neat
• 9:55
  dry
• 9:55
  fly
• 9:55
  pattern,
• 9:57
  gave
• 9:58
  me
• 9:58
  an
• 9:58
  opportunity
• 9:59
  to
• 9:59
  talk
• 9:59
  a
• 9:59
  little
• 10:00
  bit
• 10:00
  about
• 10:00
  some
• 10:01
  presidential
• 10:01
  history
• 10:02
  in
• 10:02
  Vermont
• 10:02
  because
• 10:04
  Furnace
• 10:05
  Brook
• 10:05
  and
• 10:05
  Pitchford
• 10:06
  was
• 10:08
  President
• 10:08
  Eisenhower's
• 10:09
  favorite
• 10:10
  trout
• 10:10
  stream
• 10:11
  in
• 10:11
  the
• 10:11
  United
• 10:11
  States.
• 10:12
  And
• 10:13
  there's
• 10:13
  a
• 10:13
  kind
• 10:13
  of
• 10:13
  a
• 10:13
  funny
• 10:14
  story
• 10:14
  about,
• 10:15
  about
• 10:15
  him
• 10:15
  on,
• 10:16
  in
• 10:16
  that
• 10:17
  fly
• 10:17
  pattern.
• 10:19
  And
• 10:19
  it
• 10:19
  also
• 10:19
  gave
• 10:20
  me
• 10:20
  an
• 10:20
  opportunity
• 10:20
  to
• 10:21
  talk
• 10:21
  about
• 10:22
  kind
• 10:23
  of
• 10:23
  an
• 10:23
  important,
• 10:24
  certainly
• 10:24
  a
• 10:24
  local
• 10:25
  figure,
• 10:26
  Ray
• 10:27
  Plumlee,
• 10:28
  who
• 10:28
  was
• 10:28
  a
• 10:29
  longtime
• 10:30
  fly
• 10:31
  fishing
• 10:32
  personality
• 10:32
  around
• 10:33
  here.
• 10:33
  He
• 10:33
  was
• 10:33
  the,
• 10:36
  he
• 10:36
  was
• 10:36
  a
• 10:36
  longtime
• 10:37
  manager
• 10:37
  of
• 10:38
  the
• 10:38
  Classic
• 10:39
  Outfitters
• 10:40
  which
• 10:40
  was
• 10:40
  a
• 10:41
  fly
• 10:41
  shop
• 10:42
  in,
• 10:43
  in
• 10:43
  South
• 10:43
  Burlington.
• 10:45
  And
• 10:46
  Ray
• 10:47
  got
• 10:49
  the
• 10:49
  Governor
• 10:50
  Aiken
• 10:50
  bucktail
• 10:52
  in
• 10:52
  the
• 10:53
  legislature
• 10:54
  as
• 10:54
  the
• 10:54
  official
• 10:55
  fishing
• 10:56
  fly
• 10:56
  of
• 10:57
  the
• 10:57
  state
• 10:57
  of
• 10:57
  Vermont,
• 10:59
  which
• 11:00
  is
• 11:00
  you
• 11:00
  know,
• 11:01
  kind
• 11:01
  of
• 11:01
  a
• 11:01
  really
• 11:02
  cool
• 11:02
  thing.
• 11:02
  And
• 11:02
  it's,
• 11:03
  it,
• 11:03
  you
• 11:03
  know,
• 11:03
  got
• 11:03
  a
• 11:03
  great
• 11:04
  historic
• 11:04
  photo
• 11:04
  in
• 11:05
  there
• 11:05
  of,
• 11:05
  of
• 11:06
  Vermont
• 11:06
  Governor
• 11:07
  Aiken
• 11:08
  up
• 11:08
  at
• 11:08
  Quimby
• 11:09
  country
• 11:09
  in
• 11:09
  Northeast
• 11:10
  Kingdom.
• 11:10
  It's
• 11:11
  a
• 11:11
  great
• 11:11
  pattern
• 11:12
  still
• 11:12
  really
• 11:12
  effective
• 11:13
  pattern
• 11:13
  for,
• 11:13
  for
• 11:14
  landlocks
• 11:15
  and,
• 11:16
  and
• 11:16
  it's
• 11:16
  a
• 11:17
  great
• 11:17
  trolling
• 11:17
  pattern
• 11:18
  that
• 11:18
  a
• 11:18
  lot
• 11:18
  of
• 11:18
  people
• 11:18
  will
• 11:19
  use.
• 11:19
  It's
• 11:20
  very
• 11:20
  smelt
• 11:20
  like.
• 11:22
  And,
• 11:23
  and
• 11:23
  I
• 11:23
  also
• 11:23
  got
• 11:23
  to
• 11:23
  put
• 11:24
  in
• 11:24
  one
• 11:24
  of
• 11:24
  Ray's
• 11:24
  patterns.
• 11:25
  Ray
• 11:26
  Passed
• 11:26
  away
• 11:28
  about
• 11:28
  this
• 11:29
  time
• 11:29
  last
• 11:30
  year
• 11:32
  from,
• 11:32
  you
• 11:32
  know,
• 11:32
  long
• 11:32
  time
• 11:34
  illness
• 11:35
  and
• 11:35
  it
• 11:35
  was
• 11:36
  a
• 11:36
  great
• 11:36
  way
• 11:36
  to,
• 11:36
  to
• 11:37
  memorialize
• 11:38
  Ray.
• 11:39
  So.
• 11:41
  Yeah,
• 11:41
  very
• 11:41
  neat.
• 11:42
  And
• 11:42
  can
• 11:42
  you
• 11:42
  kind
• 11:42
  of
• 11:42
  give
• 11:43
  folks
• 11:43
  kind
• 11:43
  of
• 11:43
  an.
• 11:43
  I've
• 11:44
  been
• 11:44
  lucky
• 11:44
  enough
• 11:44
  to
• 11:44
  look
• 11:44
  at
• 11:45
  it
• 11:45
  in
• 11:45
  advanced
• 11:45
  copy,
• 11:45
  but
• 11:46
  can
• 11:46
  you
• 11:46
  kind
• 11:46
  of
• 11:46
  give
• 11:46
  folks
• 11:46
  in
• 11:47
  kind
• 11:47
  of
• 11:47
  an
• 11:47
  overview
• 11:47
  of
• 11:47
  the
• 11:48
  book?
• 11:48
  Yeah,
• 11:49
  I
• 11:49
  mean
• 11:49
  it's,
• 11:50
  you
• 11:50
  know,
• 11:51
  I,
• 11:51
  I
• 11:51
  give
• 11:51
  kind
• 11:52
  of
• 11:52
  a
• 11:52
  brief
• 11:52
  introduction
• 11:52
  of,
• 11:53
  you
• 11:53
  know,
• 11:53
  what's,
• 11:54
  what's
• 11:54
  up
• 11:54
  with
• 11:54
  Vermont
• 11:55
  fly
• 11:55
  fishing?
• 11:56
  And
• 11:57
  you
• 11:57
  know,
• 11:57
  we
• 11:57
  do.
• 11:57
  Vermont's
• 11:58
  kind
• 11:58
  of
• 11:58
  known
• 11:58
  for.
• 11:59
  But
• 12:00
  we're
• 12:01
  probably
• 12:01
  not
• 12:01
  the
• 12:02
  greatest
• 12:02
  trout
• 12:02
  state
• 12:03
  in
• 12:03
  the,
• 12:03
  in
• 12:03
  the
• 12:03
  country.
• 12:04
  I'm
• 12:05
  not,
• 12:05
  I'm
• 12:05
  not
• 12:05
  really
• 12:07
  giving
• 12:07
  away
• 12:07
  any
• 12:07
  secrets
• 12:08
  there.
• 12:08
  You.
• 12:09
  We
• 12:09
  have
• 12:09
  a
• 12:09
  lot
• 12:09
  of
• 12:09
  good
• 12:10
  trout
• 12:10
  fishing,
• 12:11
  but
• 12:11
  it's
• 12:11
  not
• 12:12
  like
• 12:12
  the
• 12:13
  really
• 12:13
  consistent
• 12:13
  fishing
• 12:14
  that
• 12:14
  you'll
• 12:14
  find
• 12:14
  in
• 12:15
  places
• 12:15
  like
• 12:15
  Pennsylvania
• 12:16
  or
• 12:16
  Colorado.
• 12:17
  We
• 12:18
  don't
• 12:18
  have
• 12:18
  super
• 12:18
  consistent
• 12:19
  hatches.
• 12:20
  So
• 12:20
  one
• 12:20
  thing
• 12:21
  that
• 12:21
  you
• 12:21
  see
• 12:21
  a
• 12:22
  lot
• 12:22
  in
• 12:22
  there,
• 12:22
  there's
• 12:23
  a
• 12:23
  lot
• 12:23
  of
• 12:23
  great
• 12:23
  patterns
• 12:24
  for
• 12:24
  brook
• 12:24
  trout
• 12:25
  because
• 12:25
  a
• 12:25
  lot
• 12:25
  of
• 12:26
  fly
• 12:26
  anglers
• 12:26
  in
• 12:26
  the
• 12:26
  summertime
• 12:27
  will
• 12:28
  hit
• 12:28
  the
• 12:28
  blue
• 12:28
  lines
• 12:29
  and
• 12:29
  there's
• 12:30
  some
• 12:30
  great,
• 12:31
  you
• 12:31
  know,
• 12:31
  blue
• 12:31
  line
• 12:33
  opportunities
• 12:34
  in
• 12:34
  Vermont.
• 12:36
  No,
• 12:36
  we
• 12:37
  have
• 12:37
  a
• 12:37
  ton
• 12:37
  of
• 12:37
  brook
• 12:38
  trout.
• 12:38
  They're
• 12:38
  not,
• 12:38
  not
• 12:38
  many
• 12:39
  of
• 12:39
  them
• 12:39
  are
• 12:39
  super
• 12:40
  big,
• 12:40
  but
• 12:41
  there's
• 12:41
  a
• 12:41
  lot
• 12:41
  of
• 12:41
  them
• 12:42
  to
• 12:42
  be
• 12:42
  caught.
• 12:43
  And
• 12:43
  there's
• 12:44
  a
• 12:44
  lot
• 12:44
  of
• 12:44
  streamer
• 12:44
  patterns
• 12:44
  because
• 12:45
  a
• 12:45
  lot
• 12:45
  of
• 12:45
  people
• 12:45
  like
• 12:45
  catching
• 12:46
  those
• 12:46
  bigger
• 12:46
  fish,
• 12:46
  especially
• 12:47
  big
• 12:47
  browns.
• 12:49
  But
• 12:50
  you
• 12:50
  know,
• 12:51
  it
• 12:51
  also
• 12:51
  gave
• 12:52
  me
• 12:52
  an
• 12:52
  opportunity
• 12:52
  to
• 12:53
  talk
• 12:53
  about
• 12:53
  the
• 12:53
  warm,
• 12:54
  warm
• 12:54
  water
• 12:54
  operator,
• 12:55
  the
• 12:55
  options
• 12:56
  that
• 12:56
  we
• 12:56
  have
• 12:57
  here.
• 12:58
  You
• 12:58
  know,
• 12:58
  a
• 12:59
  lot,
• 12:59
  a
• 12:59
  lot
• 12:59
  of
• 12:59
  incredible
• 13:00
  bass
• 13:00
  fishing
• 13:01
  in
• 13:01
  this
• 13:01
  state.
• 13:03
  And,
• 13:03
  and
• 13:04
  then,
• 13:04
  you
• 13:04
  know,
• 13:04
  the
• 13:04
  resource
• 13:05
  that
• 13:05
  I
• 13:05
  love
• 13:06
  so
• 13:06
  much,
• 13:07
  Lake
• 13:08
  Champlain
• 13:09
  and,
• 13:09
  and
• 13:09
  really
• 13:10
  kind
• 13:10
  of
• 13:10
  sharing
• 13:11
  like
• 13:11
  we've
• 13:11
  got
• 13:12
  something
• 13:13
  really
• 13:13
  special
• 13:14
  here
• 13:15
  that
• 13:15
  fly
• 13:15
  anglers
• 13:16
  really
• 13:16
  haven't
• 13:16
  tapped
• 13:17
  into
• 13:17
  a
• 13:17
  whole
• 13:17
  lot.
• 13:19
  And
• 13:20
  you
• 13:20
  know,
• 13:20
  I'm,
• 13:20
  I'm,
• 13:21
  I'm
• 13:21
  hoping
• 13:21
  to
• 13:21
  bring
• 13:21
  it
• 13:22
  to
• 13:22
  a
• 13:22
  little
• 13:22
  bit
• 13:22
  more
• 13:22
  prominence.
• 13:24
  I,
• 13:24
  you
• 13:24
  know,
• 13:24
  I'd
• 13:25
  love
• 13:25
  to
• 13:25
  see
• 13:25
  more
• 13:25
  people
• 13:25
  coming
• 13:26
  in
• 13:26
  and
• 13:26
  checking
• 13:27
  Champlain
• 13:27
  because
• 13:27
  we
• 13:28
  have
• 13:28
  world
• 13:29
  class
• 13:29
  bass
• 13:29
  fishing
• 13:30
  on
• 13:30
  Lake
• 13:30
  Champlain.
• 13:31
  It's
• 13:31
  a,
• 13:31
  it's
• 13:31
  one
• 13:32
  of
• 13:32
  the
• 13:32
  top
• 13:32
  five
• 13:33
  bass
• 13:34
  lakes
• 13:34
  in
• 13:34
  the
• 13:34
  country
• 13:34
  according
• 13:35
  to
• 13:35
  Bassmasters.
• 13:36
  And
• 13:36
  it
• 13:36
  has
• 13:36
  been
• 13:36
  for
• 13:36
  the
• 13:37
  past
• 13:37
  30
• 13:37
  years.
• 13:38
  You
• 13:39
  know,
• 13:39
  it's
• 13:39
  certainly
• 13:40
  worldclass
• 13:41
  bowin
• 13:42
  fishing,
• 13:42
  which
• 13:43
  is
• 13:43
  it?
• 13:43
  You
• 13:44
  know,
• 13:44
  it
• 13:44
  seems
• 13:44
  kind
• 13:44
  of
• 13:44
  funny,
• 13:45
  but,
• 13:45
  you
• 13:45
  know,
• 13:46
  I've,
• 13:46
  I've
• 13:46
  got
• 13:46
  a
• 13:46
  client
• 13:47
  who's
• 13:47
  got
• 13:47
  almost
• 13:47
  every
• 13:47
  IGFA
• 13:48
  ticket
• 13:49
  tippet
• 13:50
  class
• 13:50
  record
• 13:52
  and
• 13:52
  almost
• 13:53
  all
• 13:53
  of
• 13:53
  those
• 13:53
  were
• 13:53
  caught
• 13:53
  on
• 13:54
  Lake
• 13:54
  Champlain.
• 13:56
  And
• 13:57
  you
• 13:57
  know,
• 13:57
  it's.
• 13:58
  The
• 13:58
  book
• 13:58
  really
• 13:59
  gave
• 13:59
  an
• 13:59
  opportunity
• 14:00
  to
• 14:01
  showcase
• 14:04
  the
• 14:04
  wide
• 14:04
  variety
• 14:05
  of
• 14:05
  options
• 14:05
  that
• 14:06
  we
• 14:06
  have
• 14:06
  here
• 14:07
  and
• 14:07
  the
• 14:07
  flies
• 14:08
  that
• 14:09
  will
• 14:09
  get
• 14:10
  it
• 14:10
  done.
• 14:11
  Yeah,
• 14:11
  very
• 14:12
  neat.
• 14:12
  And
• 14:12
  I
• 14:12
  guess
• 14:12
  in
• 14:12
  terms
• 14:13
  of
• 14:13
  layout,
• 14:14
  layout,
• 14:14
  it's
• 14:14
  basically
• 14:15
  a
• 14:15
  chapter
• 14:15
  per
• 14:15
  pattern
• 14:16
  and
• 14:16
  it's
• 14:17
  a
• 14:17
  fly
• 14:17
  tying
• 14:18
  book,
• 14:18
  but
• 14:18
  it's
• 14:18
  not
• 14:18
  a
• 14:18
  step
• 14:19
  by
• 14:19
  step
• 14:19
  book.
• 14:19
  So
• 14:20
  it's.
• 14:20
  No,
• 14:20
  yeah,
• 14:21
  it's
• 14:21
  pictures
• 14:21
  of
• 14:21
  the
• 14:21
  fly
• 14:22
  and
• 14:22
  the
• 14:22
  recipe
• 14:23
  and
• 14:23
  then
• 14:23
  you
• 14:23
  have
• 14:23
  a
• 14:23
  several
• 14:24
  page
• 14:24
  write
• 14:24
  up
• 14:25
  kind
• 14:25
  of
• 14:25
  on
• 14:25
  history
• 14:25
  and
• 14:26
  background.
• 14:26
  Right,
• 14:27
  right,
• 14:27
  right.
• 14:27
  And,
• 14:29
  and
• 14:30
  one
• 14:30
  thing
• 14:30
  that
• 14:30
  that
• 14:31
  was,
• 14:31
  was
• 14:31
  a
• 14:31
  lot
• 14:31
  of
• 14:32
  fun
• 14:32
  is,
• 14:32
  is
• 14:34
  talking
• 14:34
  to
• 14:34
  the
• 14:34
  fly
• 14:35
  tires
• 14:35
  and
• 14:35
  kind
• 14:36
  of
• 14:36
  getting
• 14:36
  their
• 14:36
  story.
• 14:37
  Not
• 14:37
  only
• 14:38
  their
• 14:38
  story
• 14:38
  about
• 14:38
  their,
• 14:39
  their
• 14:40
  fly,
• 14:41
  but
• 14:41
  you
• 14:41
  know,
• 14:41
  their
• 14:42
  story,
• 14:43
  you
• 14:43
  know,
• 14:43
  how
• 14:43
  they
• 14:43
  got
• 14:44
  into
• 14:44
  fly
• 14:44
  fishing
• 14:45
  and,
• 14:46
  and
• 14:47
  you
• 14:47
  know,
• 14:47
  like
• 14:48
  what
• 14:48
  it
• 14:48
  is
• 14:48
  that
• 14:49
  that
• 14:49
  drives
• 14:49
  them
• 14:50
  and,
• 14:50
  and
• 14:53
  drove
• 14:53
  them
• 14:53
  to
• 14:54
  create
• 14:54
  the
• 14:54
  pattern
• 14:55
  that,
• 14:56
  that
• 14:56
  they
• 14:57
  sent
• 14:57
  to
• 14:57
  me.
• 14:59
  And
• 15:00
  you
• 15:01
  know,
• 15:01
  some,
• 15:01
  some
• 15:01
  of
• 15:01
  these
• 15:01
  few
• 15:02
  people
• 15:02
  are
• 15:02
  people
• 15:02
  I
• 15:03
  know.
• 15:03
  Some
• 15:03
  of
• 15:03
  the
• 15:03
  people
• 15:03
  are
• 15:04
  total
• 15:04
  strangers.
• 15:06
  And,
• 15:07
  and
• 15:07
  it's
• 15:07
  really
• 15:08
  great.
• 15:09
  You
• 15:09
  know,
• 15:09
  we
• 15:09
  have,
• 15:09
  we
• 15:10
  have
• 15:10
  a
• 15:10
  wide
• 15:11
  variety
• 15:12
  of
• 15:13
  people
• 15:13
  who
• 15:14
  are
• 15:14
  interested
• 15:14
  in,
• 15:15
  in
• 15:15
  catching
• 15:16
  fish
• 15:16
  with
• 15:16
  flies
• 15:17
  here.
• 15:17
  And
• 15:19
  I
• 15:19
  think
• 15:19
  the,
• 15:20
  the,
• 15:20
  the
• 15:20
  thing
• 15:20
  that
• 15:20
  was
• 15:21
  kind
• 15:21
  of
• 15:21
  the
• 15:22
  most
• 15:22
  interesting
• 15:23
  is
• 15:24
  the
• 15:24
  number
• 15:24
  of
• 15:24
  people
• 15:25
  who
• 15:26
  sent
• 15:26
  me
• 15:26
  patterns
• 15:27
  and
• 15:27
  were
• 15:27
  just
• 15:27
  like,
• 15:27
  I'm,
• 15:28
  I
• 15:28
  am
• 15:28
  so
• 15:28
  sorry
• 15:29
  for
• 15:29
  how
• 15:29
  ugly
• 15:30
  that
• 15:30
  is.
• 15:31
  And
• 15:32
  they
• 15:32
  were
• 15:32
  just,
• 15:33
  they
• 15:33
  were,
• 15:34
  they
• 15:34
  were
• 15:34
  kind
• 15:34
  of
• 15:35
  talking
• 15:35
  their
• 15:35
  flies
• 15:36
  down
• 15:36
  a
• 15:36
  little
• 15:36
  bit.
• 15:36
  Like,
• 15:36
  you
• 15:37
  know,
• 15:37
  I,
• 15:37
  I
• 15:37
  wish
• 15:37
  I'd
• 15:38
  have
• 15:38
  spent
• 15:38
  more
• 15:38
  time
• 15:38
  making
• 15:39
  it
• 15:39
  neater.
• 15:40
  And
• 15:40
  I
• 15:40
  just
• 15:40
  said,
• 15:40
  you
• 15:41
  know,
• 15:41
  like
• 15:42
  Vermont
• 15:42
  fly
• 15:43
  tires
• 15:43
  are
• 15:43
  really
• 15:44
  pragmatic.
• 15:45
  They
• 15:45
  want
• 15:45
  to
• 15:45
  just
• 15:46
  tie
• 15:46
  as
• 15:47
  many
• 15:47
  as
• 15:47
  they
• 15:47
  can
• 15:49
  as
• 15:49
  quickly
• 15:49
  as
• 15:49
  they
• 15:50
  can
• 15:50
  so
• 15:50
  they
• 15:51
  can
• 15:51
  go
• 15:51
  out
• 15:51
  and
• 15:51
  catch
• 15:51
  fish.
• 15:52
  And
• 15:53
  as
• 15:53
  most
• 15:54
  of
• 15:54
  us
• 15:54
  who
• 15:54
  have
• 15:54
  been
• 15:54
  fly
• 15:55
  fishing
• 15:55
  for
• 15:55
  any
• 15:55
  length
• 15:56
  of
• 15:56
  time
• 15:56
  knows
• 15:58
  that,
• 15:58
  you
• 15:59
  know,
• 15:59
  a
• 15:59
  perfectly
• 16:00
  tied
• 16:00
  fly
• 16:01
  isn't
• 16:01
  always
• 16:01
  the
• 16:02
  one
• 16:02
  that
• 16:02
  the
• 16:02
  fish
• 16:02
  want.
• 16:03
  The,
• 16:03
  the
• 16:04
  fly
• 16:04
  that's
• 16:04
  been
• 16:04
  beat
• 16:05
  up
• 16:05
  and
• 16:05
  you
• 16:06
  know,
• 16:06
  missing
• 16:06
  some
• 16:07
  legs
• 16:07
  or,
• 16:08
  or
• 16:08
  whatever,
• 16:09
  that's
• 16:09
  the
• 16:09
  one
• 16:09
  that
• 16:10
  the
• 16:10
  fish
• 16:10
  really
• 16:11
  like.
• 16:11
  So
• 16:12
  I,
• 16:12
  I
• 16:12
  really,
• 16:12
  I
• 16:13
  enjoyed
• 16:13
  getting
• 16:14
  all
• 16:14
  of
• 16:15
  those
• 16:15
  patterns,
• 16:15
  man.
• 16:15
  I
• 16:16
  even
• 16:16
  got
• 16:16
  a
• 16:16
  couple
• 16:16
  of,
• 16:17
  a
• 16:17
  couple
• 16:17
  of
• 16:17
  flies
• 16:18
  that
• 16:18
  still
• 16:18
  had
• 16:18
  some
• 16:18
  tippet
• 16:19
  on
• 16:19
  them,
• 16:20
  you
• 16:20
  know,
• 16:20
  because
• 16:21
  they
• 16:21
  were
• 16:21
  raided
• 16:22
  in
• 16:22
  the,
• 16:22
  you
• 16:22
  know,
• 16:22
  the
• 16:22
  fly
• 16:23
  tires
• 16:23
  had
• 16:23
  rated
• 16:24
  their
• 16:24
  own
• 16:24
  box
• 16:24
  because
• 16:25
  they,
• 16:25
  they
• 16:25
  didn't
• 16:26
  have
• 16:26
  time
• 16:26
  to
• 16:26
  get
• 16:28
  to
• 16:28
  get
• 16:28
  a
• 16:28
  new
• 16:28
  untied
• 16:29
  for
• 16:29
  me.
• 16:30
  And,
• 16:30
  and
• 16:31
  you
• 16:31
  know,
• 16:31
  I
• 16:31
  really
• 16:32
  appreciate
• 16:32
  that.
• 16:34
  I
• 16:35
  think
• 16:35
  that's
• 16:35
  kind
• 16:35
  of
• 16:35
  fun.
• 16:35
  And,
• 16:36
  and
• 16:36
  it's
• 16:36
  a
• 16:36
  fun
• 16:37
  part
• 16:37
  of
• 16:37
  the
• 16:37
  story
• 16:37
  too.
• 16:38
  Yeah,
• 16:38
  absolutely.
• 16:39
  And
• 16:39
  you
• 16:39
  know,
• 16:40
  so
• 16:40
  tell
• 16:40
  me
• 16:40
  a
• 16:40
  little
• 16:41
  bit
• 16:41
  about
• 16:41
  kind
• 16:42
  of
• 16:42
  your,
• 16:42
  your
• 16:42
  writing
• 16:43
  and
• 16:43
  editing
• 16:43
  experience.
• 16:44
  What
• 16:44
  was
• 16:44
  it
• 16:44
  like?
• 16:44
  Did
• 16:44
  you
• 16:45
  like
• 16:45
  it?
• 16:45
  Was
• 16:45
  it
• 16:45
  like
• 16:45
  pulling
• 16:46
  teeth?
• 16:47
  Well,
• 16:48
  you
• 16:48
  Know,
• 16:48
  it
• 16:49
  was
• 16:51
  sometimes
• 16:52
  for
• 16:52
  me
• 16:52
  it
• 16:52
  could
• 16:52
  be
• 16:52
  really
• 16:53
  hard
• 16:53
  to
• 16:53
  focus
• 16:53
  and
• 16:54
  that
• 16:54
  I
• 16:55
  think
• 16:55
  it
• 16:55
  was
• 16:55
  one
• 16:55
  of
• 16:55
  the
• 16:56
  hardest
• 16:56
  things
• 16:57
  and
• 16:58
  one
• 16:58
  thing
• 16:59
  that
• 16:59
  really
• 16:59
  made
• 16:59
  it
• 16:59
  challenging.
• 17:00
  I
• 17:01
  had
• 17:01
  a
• 17:01
  partner
• 17:01
  that
• 17:01
  was
• 17:01
  dealing
• 17:02
  with
• 17:02
  a
• 17:03
  severe
• 17:03
  illness
• 17:03
  while
• 17:04
  I
• 17:04
  was
• 17:04
  wrapping
• 17:05
  this
• 17:05
  book
• 17:05
  up.
• 17:07
  And
• 17:07
  so
• 17:08
  I
• 17:08
  was
• 17:08
  kind
• 17:09
  of
• 17:09
  a
• 17:09
  caregiver
• 17:10
  and
• 17:10
  working
• 17:11
  a
• 17:11
  full
• 17:11
  time
• 17:11
  job
• 17:12
  and
• 17:12
  guiding
• 17:14
  while
• 17:14
  finishing
• 17:14
  the
• 17:14
  book.
• 17:16
  So
• 17:16
  I
• 17:17
  had
• 17:17
  a
• 17:17
  lot
• 17:17
  going
• 17:17
  on
• 17:19
  towards
• 17:20
  the
• 17:20
  end
• 17:21
  and
• 17:22
  I'm
• 17:23
  really
• 17:23
  proud
• 17:23
  of
• 17:24
  myself
• 17:25
  for
• 17:26
  pulling
• 17:26
  it
• 17:26
  through,
• 17:27
  you
• 17:27
  know,
• 17:27
  pulling
• 17:27
  it
• 17:28
  off.
• 17:28
  And
• 17:29
  I,
• 17:29
  I
• 17:29
  gotta
• 17:29
  really
• 17:30
  give
• 17:30
  a
• 17:30
  lot
• 17:30
  of,
• 17:30
  a
• 17:30
  lot
• 17:31
  of
• 17:31
  credit
• 17:31
  to
• 17:31
  Jay
• 17:32
  to,
• 17:32
  you
• 17:32
  know,
• 17:33
  kind
• 17:33
  of
• 17:33
  putting
• 17:33
  a
• 17:34
  fire
• 17:34
  under
• 17:34
  my,
• 17:34
  my
• 17:35
  feet
• 17:35
  a
• 17:35
  little
• 17:35
  bit
• 17:36
  to,
• 17:36
  to
• 17:36
  you
• 17:36
  know,
• 17:37
  get
• 17:37
  it
• 17:37
  done.
• 17:39
  And
• 17:40
  you
• 17:40
  know,
• 17:40
  it
• 17:41
  was,
• 17:41
  I
• 17:42
  would
• 17:42
  sit
• 17:42
  down
• 17:42
  in
• 17:43
  the
• 17:43
  morning
• 17:45
  and
• 17:45
  just,
• 17:46
  just
• 17:46
  hammer
• 17:47
  away
• 17:47
  at
• 17:47
  it.
• 17:48
  And,
• 17:48
  and
• 17:49
  then
• 17:49
  whenever
• 17:49
  I
• 17:50
  was
• 17:50
  able
• 17:50
  to
• 17:50
  get
• 17:50
  on
• 17:51
  the
• 17:51
  phone
• 17:51
  with
• 17:51
  people
• 17:52
  because
• 17:52
  it
• 17:52
  was,
• 17:53
  you
• 17:53
  know,
• 17:53
  it
• 17:53
  was
• 17:54
  tough
• 17:54
  to
• 17:54
  try
• 17:54
  to
• 17:54
  get
• 17:55
  a
• 17:56
  hold
• 17:56
  of
• 17:56
  people
• 17:56
  to
• 17:58
  do
• 17:58
  interviews.
• 17:59
  You
• 17:59
  know,
• 17:59
  like
• 17:59
  doing
• 17:59
  a
• 17:59
  face
• 18:00
  to
• 18:00
  face
• 18:00
  interview
• 18:00
  can
• 18:01
  be
• 18:01
  really
• 18:01
  challenging,
• 18:03
  especially,
• 18:04
  you
• 18:04
  know,
• 18:04
  all
• 18:04
  over
• 18:04
  the
• 18:05
  state.
• 18:07
  So
• 18:07
  I
• 18:07
  did
• 18:07
  a
• 18:07
  lot
• 18:07
  of
• 18:07
  my
• 18:08
  interviews
• 18:08
  over
• 18:08
  the
• 18:08
  phone
• 18:09
  and
• 18:09
  people
• 18:09
  would
• 18:09
  mail
• 18:09
  me
• 18:10
  their
• 18:10
  flies
• 18:11
  and
• 18:11
  in
• 18:11
  some
• 18:11
  cases,
• 18:12
  you
• 18:13
  know,
• 18:13
  people
• 18:13
  who
• 18:14
  weren't
• 18:14
  able
• 18:14
  to
• 18:14
  mail
• 18:15
  me
• 18:15
  their
• 18:15
  flies
• 18:15
  were,
• 18:16
  you
• 18:16
  know,
• 18:16
  described
• 18:17
  what
• 18:17
  the
• 18:17
  fly
• 18:17
  looked
• 18:18
  like
• 18:18
  and,
• 18:18
  and
• 18:19
  I
• 18:19
  would
• 18:19
  actually
• 18:20
  tie
• 18:21
  up
• 18:21
  a
• 18:21
  few
• 18:21
  and,
• 18:21
  and
• 18:22
  send
• 18:23
  them
• 18:23
  pictures
• 18:23
  and
• 18:24
  say,
• 18:24
  hey,
• 18:24
  does
• 18:24
  this
• 18:25
  look
• 18:25
  what
• 18:25
  they,
• 18:26
  does
• 18:26
  this
• 18:26
  look
• 18:27
  right?
• 18:27
  And
• 18:28
  they'd
• 18:28
  say
• 18:28
  either
• 18:28
  yes
• 18:29
  or
• 18:29
  no.
• 18:29
  And,
• 18:29
  and
• 18:30
  you
• 18:30
  know,
• 18:30
  I'd
• 18:30
  go
• 18:30
  back
• 18:30
  to
• 18:31
  the
• 18:31
  drawing
• 18:31
  board
• 18:31
  if
• 18:31
  I
• 18:31
  needed
• 18:32
  to.
• 18:32
  And
• 18:33
  that
• 18:33
  was
• 18:33
  kind
• 18:33
  of
• 18:33
  a
• 18:34
  fun
• 18:34
  part
• 18:34
  of
• 18:34
  the
• 18:34
  process.
• 18:35
  And
• 18:38
  that
• 18:38
  kind
• 18:38
  of
• 18:38
  let
• 18:38
  me
• 18:38
  know
• 18:39
  or,
• 18:39
  you
• 18:40
  know,
• 18:40
  help
• 18:41
  helped
• 18:41
  me
• 18:41
  understand
• 18:42
  what
• 18:42
  was
• 18:42
  going
• 18:42
  on
• 18:43
  in
• 18:43
  their,
• 18:44
  their,
• 18:44
  their
• 18:45
  tying
• 18:48
  the
• 18:48
  patterns,
• 18:49
  if
• 18:49
  that
• 18:49
  makes
• 18:49
  sense.
• 18:51
  It
• 18:52
  was,
• 18:52
  it
• 18:52
  was
• 18:52
  kind
• 18:53
  of
• 18:53
  fun
• 18:53
  and
• 18:53
  it
• 18:53
  was,
• 18:53
  it
• 18:53
  was
• 18:54
  just,
• 18:54
  it
• 18:54
  was
• 18:55
  really,
• 18:55
  you
• 18:55
  know,
• 18:56
  I
• 18:56
  never
• 18:57
  had
• 18:57
  any
• 18:57
  short
• 18:58
  calls
• 18:59
  with
• 18:59
  any
• 19:00
  applied
• 19:00
  tires.
• 19:02
  You
• 19:02
  know,
• 19:02
  as,
• 19:03
  as
• 19:03
  most
• 19:03
  of
• 19:04
  us
• 19:04
  know,
• 19:05
  once
• 19:05
  you
• 19:06
  get
• 19:06
  a
• 19:06
  couple
• 19:06
  of
• 19:06
  fly
• 19:06
  tires
• 19:07
  or
• 19:07
  fly,
• 19:08
  fly
• 19:08
  anglers
• 19:08
  on
• 19:09
  the
• 19:09
  phone,
• 19:09
  you
• 19:09
  start
• 19:10
  telling
• 19:10
  fish
• 19:10
  stories
• 19:10
  and
• 19:11
  you
• 19:11
  start
• 19:11
  talking
• 19:11
  about
• 19:12
  the
• 19:12
  flies
• 19:12
  and
• 19:13
  you
• 19:13
  know,
• 19:13
  the,
• 19:13
  the
• 19:14
  half
• 19:14
  an
• 19:14
  hour
• 19:14
  phone
• 19:14
  call
• 19:15
  you
• 19:15
  were
• 19:15
  going
• 19:15
  to
• 19:15
  have
• 19:15
  that
• 19:15
  was
• 19:16
  going
• 19:16
  to
• 19:16
  be
• 19:16
  just
• 19:16
  a
• 19:16
  quick
• 19:16
  interview
• 19:17
  is,
• 19:17
  you
• 19:17
  know,
• 19:18
  three
• 19:18
  hours
• 19:18
  later,
• 19:18
  like,
• 19:19
  I
• 19:19
  gotta
• 19:19
  go,
• 19:19
  I
• 19:19
  gotta
• 19:20
  get,
• 19:20
  I
• 19:20
  gotta
• 19:20
  get
• 19:20
  this
• 19:21
  written
• 19:21
  down,
• 19:23
  which
• 19:23
  is
• 19:23
  great.
• 19:25
  But
• 19:25
  you
• 19:25
  know,
• 19:25
  I've
• 19:25
  got,
• 19:26
  I've
• 19:26
  got
• 19:26
  a
• 19:27
  whole
• 19:27
  notebook
• 19:28
  filled
• 19:28
  with,
• 19:28
  with
• 19:29
  handwritten
• 19:29
  notes.
• 19:30
  Cause
• 19:31
  that's
• 19:31
  how
• 19:31
  I
• 19:31
  did
• 19:31
  a
• 19:31
  lot
• 19:31
  of
• 19:32
  it.
• 19:33
  And
• 19:34
  you
• 19:34
  know,
• 19:35
  I.
• 19:35
  Keeping
• 19:36
  track
• 19:36
  of,
• 19:36
  you
• 19:37
  know,
• 19:37
  what
• 19:37
  flies
• 19:37
  I
• 19:38
  had,
• 19:39
  you
• 19:39
  know,
• 19:39
  I
• 19:40
  was
• 19:40
  basically
• 19:40
  making
• 19:41
  my
• 19:41
  own
• 19:43
  charts
• 19:43
  to
• 19:44
  make
• 19:44
  sure
• 19:44
  That
• 19:44
  I
• 19:44
  had
• 19:45
  the
• 19:45
  fly
• 19:46
  done.
• 19:46
  I
• 19:46
  had
• 19:46
  the
• 19:47
  photo
• 19:47
  of
• 19:47
  the
• 19:47
  fly
• 19:48
  because
• 19:48
  I
• 19:48
  did
• 19:48
  all
• 19:48
  the
• 19:49
  fly
• 19:49
  photography,
• 19:51
  which
• 19:52
  was.
• 19:52
  Which
• 19:52
  is
• 19:52
  a
• 19:53
  really
• 19:53
  cool
• 19:53
  part
• 19:53
  of
• 19:54
  this.
• 19:55
  So,
• 19:55
  you
• 19:55
  know,
• 19:56
  learning
• 19:56
  how
• 19:57
  to
• 19:57
  do
• 19:57
  macro
• 19:58
  photography
• 20:00
  was.
• 20:00
  Was
• 20:01
  super
• 20:01
  fun
• 20:02
  and
• 20:02
  a
• 20:03
  skill
• 20:03
  I'd
• 20:03
  like
• 20:03
  to.
• 20:03
  To
• 20:04
  fly
• 20:04
  again.
• 20:06
  I
• 20:06
  definitely
• 20:06
  can
• 20:07
  see
• 20:07
  myself
• 20:09
  doing.
• 20:09
  Writing
• 20:10
  more
• 20:10
  books
• 20:10
  and
• 20:10
  articles
• 20:11
  about
• 20:12
  fly
• 20:12
  tying.
• 20:14
  You
• 20:14
  know,
• 20:14
  these.
• 20:15
  These
• 20:15
  are.
• 20:15
  These
• 20:15
  are.
• 20:16
  These
• 20:16
  are
• 20:16
  great
• 20:16
  skills
• 20:17
  to
• 20:17
  have.
• 20:17
  And
• 20:17
  I.
• 20:17
  I've
• 20:18
  got
• 20:18
  a
• 20:18
  really
• 20:18
  great
• 20:20
  setup
• 20:21
  to
• 20:22
  photograph
• 20:23
  flies
• 20:24
  now,
• 20:25
  so
• 20:25
  that's
• 20:26
  definitely
• 20:27
  a
• 20:27
  lot
• 20:27
  of
• 20:27
  fun
• 20:28
  to.
• 20:28
  To
• 20:29
  play
• 20:29
  around
• 20:29
  with,
• 20:31
  but
• 20:33
  it
• 20:33
  definitely
• 20:33
  got
• 20:34
  me
• 20:34
  thinking
• 20:34
  about
• 20:35
  writing
• 20:35
  and
• 20:36
  writing
• 20:36
  more.
• 20:37
  And
• 20:38
  I
• 20:38
  have.
• 20:39
  I've
• 20:40
  got
• 20:40
  an
• 20:40
  article
• 20:40
  in
• 20:40
  a
• 20:40
  major
• 20:41
  magazine
• 20:41
  that
• 20:42
  will
• 20:42
  be
• 20:42
  coming
• 20:42
  out
• 20:43
  later
• 20:43
  this
• 20:44
  spring
• 20:44
  on
• 20:44
  Bowfin
• 20:45
  and
• 20:45
  Lake
• 20:45
  Champlain.
• 20:46
  So
• 20:47
  definitely
• 20:47
  something
• 20:47
  to
• 20:48
  keep
• 20:48
  an
• 20:48
  eye
• 20:48
  open
• 20:48
  for
• 20:50
  and
• 20:51
  pretty
• 20:51
  excited
• 20:51
  about
• 20:52
  that.
• 20:52
  I've
• 20:52
  wanted
• 20:53
  to
• 20:53
  do
• 20:53
  that
• 20:53
  for
• 20:53
  a
• 20:53
  while,
• 20:54
  and
• 20:54
  hopefully
• 20:55
  it
• 20:55
  leads
• 20:56
  to
• 20:56
  more
• 20:56
  and
• 20:56
  more
• 20:56
  writing
• 20:56
  opportunities.
• 20:58
  Very
• 20:58
  neat.
• 20:58
  What
• 20:59
  was
• 20:59
  the
• 20:59
  editing
• 20:59
  process
• 21:00
  like
• 21:00
  with
• 21:00
  the
• 21:00
  folks
• 21:00
  at
• 21:00
  Stackpole?
• 21:02
  Oh,
• 21:02
  it
• 21:02
  was
• 21:02
  great.
• 21:03
  You
• 21:03
  know,
• 21:03
  they
• 21:03
  would
• 21:04
  send
• 21:04
  me.
• 21:05
  They
• 21:06
  would
• 21:06
  send
• 21:06
  me,
• 21:06
  you
• 21:06
  know,
• 21:06
  edits
• 21:07
  and,
• 21:07
  you
• 21:07
  know,
• 21:07
  what.
• 21:08
  What.
• 21:08
  What
• 21:09
  they
• 21:09
  thought
• 21:09
  should
• 21:10
  be.
• 21:10
  Should
• 21:10
  be
• 21:11
  done.
• 21:11
  And
• 21:11
  I'd
• 21:12
  say,
• 21:12
  well,
• 21:12
  yeah,
• 21:12
  or,
• 21:13
  you
• 21:13
  know,
• 21:13
  like,
• 21:14
  let's.
• 21:14
  Let's
• 21:14
  look
• 21:15
  at
• 21:15
  it.
• 21:16
  You
• 21:17
  know,
• 21:17
  I.
• 21:17
  I
• 21:17
  think
• 21:17
  it
• 21:17
  needs
• 21:17
  to
• 21:18
  be
• 21:18
  more
• 21:18
  like
• 21:18
  this
• 21:19
  or
• 21:19
  that.
• 21:20
  And,
• 21:20
  you
• 21:20
  know,
• 21:21
  they'd
• 21:21
  agree.
• 21:21
  We'd
• 21:21
  go
• 21:22
  back
• 21:22
  and
• 21:22
  forth
• 21:23
  and.
• 21:23
  And
• 21:24
  it
• 21:24
  was.
• 21:24
  It
• 21:24
  was.
• 21:25
  It
• 21:25
  was
• 21:25
  cool
• 21:25
  because
• 21:27
  they'd
• 21:27
  send
• 21:27
  me
• 21:28
  a
• 21:29
  copy
• 21:29
  in
• 21:31
  Microsoft
• 21:31
  Word
• 21:32
  and
• 21:33
  they'd
• 21:33
  have
• 21:33
  the
• 21:34
  notes
• 21:34
  and
• 21:34
  I'd
• 21:35
  make
• 21:35
  the
• 21:35
  corrections
• 21:36
  or
• 21:37
  I'd
• 21:37
  correct
• 21:38
  their
• 21:39
  corrections
• 21:41
  in
• 21:41
  some
• 21:42
  cases.
• 21:44
  Sometimes
• 21:44
  it
• 21:44
  was
• 21:45
  like
• 21:45
  a
• 21:46
  minor
• 21:46
  spelling
• 21:46
  correction.
• 21:48
  And
• 21:48
  as
• 21:48
  we
• 21:49
  know,
• 21:49
  some
• 21:50
  fly
• 21:50
  names
• 21:53
  are
• 21:53
  intentionally
• 21:54
  misspelled.
• 21:55
  Right.
• 21:56
  And.
• 21:57
  And
• 21:57
  that
• 21:57
  happened
• 21:58
  a
• 21:58
  couple
• 21:58
  of
• 21:58
  times.
• 22:00
  Yeah,
• 22:00
  it
• 22:01
  was.
• 22:01
  It
• 22:01
  was
• 22:01
  kind
• 22:01
  of
• 22:01
  a
• 22:01
  neat
• 22:02
  process.
• 22:03
  Neat
• 22:03
  process.
• 22:03
  And
• 22:04
  it
• 22:04
  was.
• 22:04
  It
• 22:04
  was.
• 22:05
  It
• 22:05
  was
• 22:06
  a
• 22:06
  lot
• 22:06
  of
• 22:06
  fun
• 22:07
  to.
• 22:07
  To
• 22:08
  dig
• 22:08
  into
• 22:08
  the.
• 22:09
  The
• 22:09
  history
• 22:11
  and.
• 22:11
  And
• 22:11
  keeping
• 22:12
  a.
• 22:14
  The
• 22:14
  citation
• 22:15
  list.
• 22:15
  There's
• 22:16
  a
• 22:16
  lot
• 22:16
  of
• 22:16
  great
• 22:16
  books
• 22:17
  that
• 22:17
  I.
• 22:17
  That
• 22:17
  I
• 22:18
  used,
• 22:20
  and
• 22:21
  that's
• 22:21
  all
• 22:22
  in
• 22:22
  the
• 22:22
  book
• 22:22
  as
• 22:22
  well.
• 22:24
  Definitely
• 22:24
  something
• 22:25
  to
• 22:25
  check
• 22:25
  out.
• 22:27
  The
• 22:27
  Atherton
• 22:28
  Flies
• 22:31
  are
• 22:32
  great
• 22:34
  historical
• 22:34
  flies
• 22:35
  for
• 22:35
  Vermont.
• 22:37
  I
• 22:37
  know
• 22:37
  that's
• 22:37
  not
• 22:38
  necessarily
• 22:38
  part
• 22:38
  of
• 22:38
  the
• 22:39
  editorial
• 22:39
  process,
• 22:40
  but
• 22:40
  that
• 22:40
  was
• 22:40
  also
• 22:40
  part
• 22:41
  of
• 22:41
  the
• 22:41
  process
• 22:41
  of
• 22:42
  writing
• 22:42
  a
• 22:42
  book
• 22:43
  is
• 22:45
  using
• 22:45
  references
• 22:46
  and
• 22:47
  going
• 22:47
  back
• 22:47
  and
• 22:47
  looking
• 22:48
  at
• 22:49
  the
• 22:49
  historic
• 22:50
  flies
• 22:52
  and.
• 22:52
  And
• 22:52
  the
• 22:53
  history.
• 22:55
  And
• 22:55
  that
• 22:55
  was.
• 22:55
  That
• 22:56
  was
• 22:56
  super,
• 22:56
  super
• 22:57
  cool.
• 22:57
  Super
• 22:58
  cool.
• 22:59
  Yeah.
• 22:59
  It's
• 22:59
  interesting,
• 22:59
  too,
• 23:00
  because
• 23:00
  I
• 23:00
  noticed
• 23:00
  in,
• 23:01
  you
• 23:01
  know,
• 23:01
  reviewing
• 23:01
  the
• 23:02
  book
• 23:02
  that
• 23:02
  you
• 23:02
  really
• 23:02
  did
• 23:03
  go
• 23:03
  out
• 23:03
  of
• 23:03
  your
• 23:03
  way
• 23:03
  to
• 23:04
  give
• 23:04
  credit
• 23:04
  about
• 23:04
  patterns.
• 23:05
  Right?
• 23:05
  Yeah.
• 23:06
  And,
• 23:07
  you
• 23:07
  know,
• 23:07
  that's
• 23:08
  not
• 23:08
  common.
• 23:09
  And
• 23:09
  certainly,
• 23:09
  you
• 23:10
  know,
• 23:10
  you
• 23:10
  went
• 23:10
  to,
• 23:10
  you
• 23:11
  know,
• 23:11
  pretty
• 23:11
  great
• 23:11
  strikes,
• 23:12
  you
• 23:12
  know,
• 23:12
  to
• 23:12
  have
• 23:12
  citations
• 23:13
  and
• 23:13
  things,
• 23:13
  which
• 23:13
  I
• 23:14
  thought,
• 23:14
  you
• 23:14
  know,
• 23:15
  I
• 23:15
  know
• 23:15
  a
• 23:15
  lot
• 23:15
  of
• 23:15
  people
• 23:16
  that
• 23:16
  complain
• 23:16
  about
• 23:17
  having
• 23:17
  their
• 23:17
  patterns
• 23:17
  copied
• 23:18
  will
• 23:18
  appreciate
• 23:18
  that.
• 23:19
  Right?
• 23:19
  Yeah,
• 23:20
  Right.
• 23:20
  Right.
• 23:21
  I
• 23:21
  mean,
• 23:21
  you
• 23:21
  know,
• 23:22
  there's.
• 23:22
  There's
• 23:22
  definitely
• 23:23
  some
• 23:23
  patterns
• 23:23
  in
• 23:23
  there.
• 23:24
  There's
• 23:25
  a
• 23:25
  couple
• 23:25
  of
• 23:25
  patterns.
• 23:25
  There's
• 23:26
  several
• 23:26
  patterns
• 23:27
  from,
• 23:28
  you
• 23:28
  know,
• 23:29
  there's
• 23:29
  two
• 23:29
  patterns
• 23:29
  from
• 23:30
  our
• 23:30
  friend
• 23:30
  Blaine.
• 23:31
  Blaine
• 23:31
  Chocolate.
• 23:33
  And,
• 23:34
  you
• 23:34
  know,
• 23:34
  I.
• 23:34
  I
• 23:35
  have
• 23:35
  so
• 23:36
  much
• 23:36
  respect
• 23:36
  for
• 23:36
  Blaine,
• 23:37
  and
• 23:38
  they're.
• 23:39
  They're
• 23:40
  variations
• 23:40
  of
• 23:41
  Blaine's
• 23:41
  patterns
• 23:42
  that
• 23:42
  I
• 23:42
  came
• 23:42
  up
• 23:43
  with
• 23:43
  myself
• 23:43
  for
• 23:44
  fishing
• 23:44
  around
• 23:44
  here.
• 23:45
  But,
• 23:45
  like,
• 23:46
  those
• 23:46
  are
• 23:46
  Blaine's
• 23:47
  patterns,
• 23:47
  you
• 23:48
  know,
• 23:48
  and.
• 23:49
  And.
• 23:49
  And
• 23:50
  I
• 23:50
  tweaked
• 23:51
  them
• 23:52
  to
• 23:52
  use
• 23:52
  around
• 23:52
  here,
• 23:54
  but
• 23:55
  I
• 23:55
  got
• 23:55
  to
• 23:55
  give
• 23:55
  credit
• 23:56
  to
• 23:56
  Blaine.
• 23:57
  And
• 23:57
  then
• 23:57
  there's
• 23:58
  a
• 23:58
  variation
• 23:59
  of
• 23:59
  the
• 23:59
  Clouser
• 24:00
  Minnow
• 24:00
  that
• 24:00
  I
• 24:00
  use
• 24:01
  for
• 24:02
  lake
• 24:02
  trout
• 24:03
  that.
• 24:04
  That
• 24:04
  glows
• 24:04
  in
• 24:04
  the
• 24:05
  dark,
• 24:05
  super
• 24:06
  fun
• 24:06
  fly.
• 24:06
  And
• 24:07
  it's.
• 24:07
  It's
• 24:08
  really
• 24:08
  fun
• 24:08
  to
• 24:08
  be
• 24:09
  out,
• 24:10
  you
• 24:10
  know,
• 24:11
  in
• 24:11
  the
• 24:11
  dark
• 24:12
  in
• 24:12
  November
• 24:13
  on
• 24:13
  Lake
• 24:14
  Champlain,
• 24:14
  and.
• 24:15
  And
• 24:15
  using
• 24:15
  a
• 24:15
  glow
• 24:16
  in
• 24:16
  the
• 24:16
  dark
• 24:16
  fly
• 24:16
  and
• 24:17
  watching
• 24:17
  it
• 24:17
  disappear
• 24:17
  as
• 24:18
  it's
• 24:18
  coming
• 24:18
  back
• 24:18
  to
• 24:18
  the
• 24:18
  boat.
• 24:19
  That's.
• 24:19
  That's.
• 24:20
  There's
• 24:20
  nothing
• 24:20
  quite
• 24:21
  like
• 24:21
  that.
• 24:22
  Definitely
• 24:23
  a
• 24:23
  lot
• 24:23
  of
• 24:23
  appeal
• 24:24
  there.
• 24:24
  But,
• 24:25
  you
• 24:25
  know,
• 24:25
  that's.
• 24:26
  That's
• 24:26
  a
• 24:26
  Bob
• 24:26
  Clouser
• 24:27
  pattern
• 24:28
  that
• 24:28
  I
• 24:29
  made
• 24:29
  a
• 24:29
  variation
• 24:30
  of.
• 24:30
  And,
• 24:31
  you
• 24:32
  know,
• 24:32
  I
• 24:32
  mean,
• 24:33
  we.
• 24:33
  We
• 24:33
  know
• 24:33
  if
• 24:34
  you
• 24:34
  look
• 24:34
  through
• 24:34
  a
• 24:34
  fly
• 24:34
  catalog
• 24:35
  these
• 24:35
  days,
• 24:36
  you
• 24:37
  know,
• 24:37
  how
• 24:37
  many
• 24:37
  different
• 24:37
  variations
• 24:38
  of
• 24:38
  the
• 24:38
  Woolly
• 24:39
  bug
• 24:39
  are
• 24:39
  out
• 24:39
  there.
• 24:39
  And,
• 24:40
  you
• 24:40
  know,
• 24:40
  like,
• 24:41
  yes,
• 24:41
  it's
• 24:41
  a
• 24:41
  variation.
• 24:42
  It
• 24:42
  might
• 24:42
  have
• 24:42
  a
• 24:42
  little
• 24:42
  deer
• 24:43
  hair
• 24:43
  on
• 24:43
  there,
• 24:43
  but
• 24:43
  it's
• 24:44
  a
• 24:44
  Woolly
• 24:44
  Bugger.
• 24:46
  And
• 24:47
  I
• 24:47
  like
• 24:47
  to
• 24:47
  make
• 24:47
  sure
• 24:48
  that
• 24:48
  people
• 24:50
  have
• 24:50
  fly
• 24:51
  patterns
• 24:51
  attributed
• 24:52
  to
• 24:52
  them
• 24:52
  when
• 24:53
  they
• 24:53
  have
• 24:53
  done
• 24:53
  something
• 24:54
  unique.
• 24:54
  And
• 24:55
  in
• 24:55
  both
• 24:55
  Bob
• 24:56
  Clouser
• 24:56
  and
• 24:57
  Blade
• 24:57
  Chocolate,
• 24:58
  you
• 24:58
  know,
• 24:59
  deserve
• 25:00
  that
• 25:00
  credit.
• 25:01
  And
• 25:02
  along
• 25:03
  the
• 25:03
  same
• 25:04
  lines,
• 25:04
  like,
• 25:05
  all
• 25:05
  the
• 25:05
  variations
• 25:06
  or
• 25:07
  all
• 25:07
  the
• 25:07
  patterns
• 25:08
  in
• 25:08
  the
• 25:08
  book,
• 25:10
  you
• 25:10
  know,
• 25:10
  like
• 25:11
  the.
• 25:12
  The.
• 25:12
  The
• 25:12
  pattern
• 25:13
  of
• 25:14
  Ray
• 25:15
  Plumley's
• 25:15
  that
• 25:15
  I.
• 25:16
  That
• 25:16
  I
• 25:16
  mentioned
• 25:17
  earlier
• 25:17
  is
• 25:18
  a.
• 25:19
  A
• 25:19
  combination.
• 25:20
  A
• 25:20
  variation
• 25:21
  of
• 25:22
  the.
• 25:22
  The
• 25:22
  Hornberg
• 25:23
  that
• 25:24
  he
• 25:25
  created
• 25:25
  for.
• 25:26
  For
• 25:26
  fishing
• 25:27
  in
• 25:28
  Vermont.
• 25:29
  But
• 25:30
  I.
• 25:30
  I
• 25:30
  properly
• 25:31
  attribute
• 25:32
  that
• 25:32
  to,
• 25:33
  you
• 25:33
  know,
• 25:33
  the.
• 25:33
  The
• 25:34
  original
• 25:34
  originator
• 25:35
  of
• 25:35
  the
• 25:35
  Hornberg.
• 25:37
  It
• 25:37
  is
• 25:37
  a
• 25:37
  variation,
• 25:38
  and
• 25:38
  I
• 25:38
  think
• 25:39
  it's
• 25:39
  important
• 25:39
  for
• 25:39
  us
• 25:40
  to.
• 25:41
  To.
• 25:41
  To
• 25:41
  acknowledge
• 25:42
  that
• 25:43
  as
• 25:44
  fly
• 25:44
  tires
• 25:44
  and
• 25:44
  anglers,
• 25:46
  you
• 25:46
  know,
• 25:47
  yeah,
• 25:47
  absolutely.
• 25:48
  There's
• 25:48
  not
• 25:48
  a
• 25:48
  lot
• 25:48
  of
• 25:48
  original
• 25:49
  stuff
• 25:49
  anymore,
• 25:50
  for
• 25:50
  sure.
• 25:50
  And
• 25:50
  it's
• 25:51
  important
• 25:51
  to
• 25:51
  give
• 25:51
  people
• 25:51
  credit.
• 25:52
  You
• 25:52
  know,
• 25:52
  I'm
• 25:52
  super
• 25:52
  curious,
• 25:53
  too,
• 25:53
  because,
• 25:53
  you
• 25:54
  know,
• 25:54
  there
• 25:54
  are
• 25:54
  53
• 25:55
  patterns
• 25:56
  in
• 25:56
  the
• 25:56
  book,
• 25:56
  and
• 25:56
  some
• 25:56
  people
• 25:57
  have
• 25:57
  more
• 25:57
  than
• 25:57
  one.
• 25:58
  But
• 25:58
  do
• 25:59
  you
• 25:59
  have
• 25:59
  like
• 25:59
  a
• 25:59
  memorable
• 26:00
  tire
• 26:01
  wrangling
• 26:01
  story
• 26:02
  from
• 26:03
  getting
• 26:03
  a
• 26:03
  pattern
• 26:03
  in
• 26:03
  the
• 26:03
  book.
• 26:06
  There
• 26:06
  was
• 26:06
  a
• 26:06
  few,
• 26:08
  you
• 26:08
  know,
• 26:08
  there,
• 26:08
  there,
• 26:09
  there's
• 26:09
  a
• 26:10
  few
• 26:10
  patterns
• 26:10
  that,
• 26:11
  that
• 26:11
  didn't
• 26:11
  make
• 26:12
  the
• 26:12
  book
• 26:14
  because
• 26:15
  I
• 26:16
  would,
• 26:16
  there
• 26:16
  was
• 26:16
  a
• 26:16
  couple
• 26:16
  of
• 26:17
  guys
• 26:17
  I
• 26:17
  went
• 26:17
  back
• 26:17
  and
• 26:18
  forth
• 26:18
  with
• 26:18
  and
• 26:18
  I
• 26:18
  was
• 26:19
  like,
• 26:19
  you
• 26:19
  know,
• 26:19
  hey,
• 26:20
  like,
• 26:21
  I,
• 26:21
  I
• 26:21
  want
• 26:22
  to
• 26:22
  put,
• 26:22
  I
• 26:22
  want
• 26:22
  to
• 26:22
  get
• 26:22
  you
• 26:22
  in
• 26:23
  the
• 26:23
  book.
• 26:23
  You
• 26:23
  know,
• 26:23
  I
• 26:23
  want
• 26:24
  to,
• 26:24
  I
• 26:24
  want
• 26:24
  to
• 26:24
  support
• 26:25
  your
• 26:25
  guide
• 26:25
  service
• 26:26
  or,
• 26:26
  you
• 26:27
  know,
• 26:27
  whatever
• 26:28
  you're
• 26:28
  trying
• 26:28
  to
• 26:28
  do
• 26:29
  and
• 26:30
  you
• 26:30
  know,
• 26:30
  like,
• 26:31
  send
• 26:31
  me
• 26:31
  your
• 26:31
  stuff
• 26:32
  so
• 26:32
  that
• 26:32
  I
• 26:32
  can,
• 26:32
  I
• 26:32
  can
• 26:33
  put
• 26:33
  you
• 26:33
  in
• 26:33
  here.
• 26:33
  You
• 26:33
  know,
• 26:33
  we've
• 26:34
  had
• 26:34
  a
• 26:34
  great
• 26:34
  conversation
• 26:35
  and
• 26:36
  I
• 26:36
  had
• 26:36
  one
• 26:37
  guy
• 26:37
  who.
• 26:38
  Oh,
• 26:39
  yeah,
• 26:39
  yeah,
• 26:39
  I'll
• 26:39
  get,
• 26:40
  I'll
• 26:40
  get
• 26:40
  that
• 26:40
  in
• 26:40
  the
• 26:40
  mail.
• 26:40
  I'll
• 26:41
  get
• 26:41
  that
• 26:41
  in
• 26:41
  the
• 26:41
  mail.
• 26:41
  All
• 26:42
  right,
• 26:42
  well,
• 26:42
  you
• 26:42
  know,
• 26:43
  get
• 26:43
  in
• 26:43
  the
• 26:44
  mail.
• 26:44
  I
• 26:44
  need
• 26:44
  to,
• 26:44
  you
• 26:44
  know,
• 26:45
  I,
• 26:45
  I
• 26:45
  need
• 26:45
  this
• 26:45
  because
• 26:46
  it's,
• 26:48
  you
• 26:48
  know,
• 26:49
  my
• 26:49
  editor's
• 26:50
  breathing
• 26:50
  down
• 26:50
  my
• 26:50
  neck.
• 26:50
  I
• 26:51
  need
• 26:51
  to
• 26:51
  have
• 26:51
  this
• 26:51
  as
• 26:52
  soon
• 26:52
  as
• 26:52
  possible.
• 26:52
  Oh,
• 26:53
  it's
• 26:53
  in
• 26:53
  the
• 26:54
  mail
• 26:54
  this
• 26:54
  morning.
• 26:55
  I
• 26:56
  never
• 26:56
  got
• 26:56
  the
• 26:56
  flies.
• 26:57
  That
• 26:57
  guy
• 26:57
  never
• 26:58
  got.
• 26:59
  He's
• 27:00
  not,
• 27:00
  he's
• 27:00
  not
• 27:00
  in
• 27:00
  the
• 27:00
  book,
• 27:01
  you
• 27:02
  know,
• 27:02
  and,
• 27:03
  and
• 27:03
  I
• 27:03
  have,
• 27:03
  you
• 27:04
  know,
• 27:04
  like,
• 27:05
  hey,
• 27:05
  it's
• 27:05
  a
• 27:05
  bummer.
• 27:06
  And,
• 27:06
  and,
• 27:06
  and
• 27:06
  I
• 27:07
  tried,
• 27:07
  I
• 27:07
  did
• 27:07
  my
• 27:08
  part.
• 27:08
  Like,
• 27:09
  I
• 27:09
  don't
• 27:09
  know
• 27:09
  where
• 27:10
  your
• 27:10
  pattern
• 27:10
  is,
• 27:11
  so,
• 27:11
  you
• 27:12
  know,
• 27:12
  I
• 27:13
  didn't
• 27:13
  put
• 27:13
  you
• 27:13
  in
• 27:14
  there.
• 27:15
  But
• 27:16
  most
• 27:16
  people
• 27:16
  who
• 27:16
  said
• 27:17
  that
• 27:17
  they
• 27:17
  would
• 27:17
  contribute
• 27:18
  a
• 27:18
  fly
• 27:18
  contributed
• 27:19
  flies
• 27:20
  and
• 27:22
  which
• 27:22
  is
• 27:22
  great.
• 27:25
  One
• 27:25
  of
• 27:25
  the
• 27:25
  guys
• 27:25
  that
• 27:25
  was,
• 27:26
  was
• 27:27
  one
• 27:27
  of
• 27:27
  the
• 27:27
  most
• 27:27
  challenging
• 27:28
  to,
• 27:28
  to,
• 27:30
  to
• 27:30
  buckle
• 27:31
  down
• 27:31
  and,
• 27:32
  and
• 27:32
  get
• 27:32
  to
• 27:32
  talk
• 27:33
  to
• 27:33
  me
• 27:33
  was,
• 27:34
  it
• 27:34
  was,
• 27:34
  it
• 27:34
  was
• 27:34
  Tom
• 27:35
  Rosenbauer.
• 27:37
  But
• 27:37
  he's,
• 27:37
  he's
• 27:38
  a
• 27:38
  super
• 27:38
  busy
• 27:38
  guy
• 27:39
  as,
• 27:39
  as
• 27:40
  you
• 27:40
  might
• 27:40
  imagine.
• 27:41
  And
• 27:43
  he
• 27:43
  and
• 27:43
  I
• 27:43
  went
• 27:44
  down
• 27:44
  and
• 27:45
  fished
• 27:45
  with
• 27:45
  our
• 27:45
  mutual
• 27:46
  friend
• 27:46
  Rowan
• 27:46
  Lytle
• 27:47
  down
• 27:47
  in
• 27:47
  Connecticut
• 27:48
  for
• 27:48
  carp.
• 27:49
  So
• 27:49
  we
• 27:50
  had
• 27:50
  a
• 27:50
  four
• 27:50
  hour
• 27:51
  car
• 27:51
  ride
• 27:51
  and
• 27:51
  I
• 27:52
  just
• 27:52
  pulled
• 27:52
  out
• 27:52
  a
• 27:52
  notebook
• 27:52
  and
• 27:53
  I
• 27:53
  was
• 27:53
  like,
• 27:53
  all
• 27:53
  right,
• 27:53
  Tom,
• 27:53
  here's
• 27:54
  our
• 27:54
  chance.
• 27:54
  Let's
• 27:55
  do
• 27:55
  this.
• 27:56
  So
• 27:56
  I
• 27:56
  just
• 27:56
  kind
• 27:56
  of
• 27:57
  grilled
• 27:57
  him
• 27:58
  as,
• 27:58
  as
• 27:58
  we
• 27:59
  were
• 27:59
  driving,
• 28:00
  which
• 28:00
  I
• 28:00
  think
• 28:01
  is
• 28:01
  probably
• 28:01
  the
• 28:01
  best
• 28:01
  way
• 28:02
  to,
• 28:02
  to
• 28:02
  do
• 28:02
  it.
• 28:03
  And
• 28:03
  that
• 28:03
  was,
• 28:04
  that
• 28:04
  was
• 28:04
  really
• 28:04
  fun,
• 28:05
  you
• 28:05
  know,
• 28:05
  just
• 28:06
  like
• 28:06
  asking
• 28:06
  him,
• 28:07
  you
• 28:07
  know,
• 28:07
  like,
• 28:08
  how
• 28:08
  did
• 28:08
  you
• 28:08
  come
• 28:08
  up
• 28:08
  with
• 28:10
  the,
• 28:10
  the,
• 28:10
  you
• 28:11
  know,
• 28:11
  that,
• 28:11
  that
• 28:12
  emerger
• 28:12
  that
• 28:12
  everybody
• 28:13
  loves.
• 28:14
  And
• 28:14
  it's,
• 28:14
  and
• 28:15
  it's
• 28:15
  a
• 28:15
  great
• 28:15
  pattern
• 28:16
  that's
• 28:17
  one
• 28:17
  of
• 28:17
  the
• 28:17
  best
• 28:18
  emerger
• 28:19
  patterns
• 28:20
  around
• 28:20
  is
• 28:21
  his
• 28:22
  CDC
• 28:23
  rabbit's
• 28:23
  fit,
• 28:24
  rabbit's
• 28:24
  foot
• 28:25
  emerger.
• 28:26
  And
• 28:26
  great
• 28:27
  story
• 28:27
  about
• 28:27
  it
• 28:27
  in
• 28:28
  the,
• 28:28
  in
• 28:28
  the
• 28:28
  book.
• 28:30
  And
• 28:30
  he's
• 28:31
  just,
• 28:31
  he's
• 28:31
  such
• 28:31
  a
• 28:31
  great
• 28:32
  guy
• 28:32
  and
• 28:32
  he's,
• 28:33
  you
• 28:33
  know,
• 28:33
  he's
• 28:34
  he's
• 28:35
  really
• 28:36
  just
• 28:37
  one
• 28:37
  of
• 28:37
  those
• 28:37
  guys
• 28:38
  that,
• 28:38
  that,
• 28:39
  you
• 28:40
  know,
• 28:40
  he,
• 28:40
  he,
• 28:42
  he
• 28:43
  walks
• 28:44
  the
• 28:44
  walk
• 28:44
  that
• 28:44
  he
• 28:45
  talks
• 28:45
  about,
• 28:45
  you
• 28:46
  know
• 28:46
  what
• 28:46
  I
• 28:46
  mean?
• 28:46
  He,
• 28:46
  he
• 28:47
  just,
• 28:47
  he
• 28:47
  fishes
• 28:48
  and
• 28:48
  he
• 28:48
  just
• 28:48
  loves
• 28:49
  to
• 28:49
  fish.
• 28:51
  So
• 28:51
  the,
• 28:51
  the,
• 28:51
  the
• 28:52
  Tom
• 28:52
  Rosenbauer
• 28:53
  that,
• 28:53
  that
• 28:53
  you
• 28:53
  see
• 28:54
  that
• 28:54
  you
• 28:54
  hear
• 28:55
  on
• 28:55
  his
• 28:55
  podcast
• 28:56
  is
• 28:56
  the
• 28:56
  Tom
• 28:56
  Rosenbauer
• 28:57
  that
• 28:57
  is
• 28:58
  out
• 28:58
  on
• 28:58
  the
• 28:58
  water,
• 28:59
  you
• 28:59
  know,
• 28:59
  which
• 28:59
  is
• 29:00
  which
• 29:00
  that's
• 29:00
  great.
• 29:01
  Yeah,
• 29:01
  absolutely.
• 29:02
  And
• 29:02
  you
• 29:03
  know,
• 29:03
  it's
• 29:03
  kind
• 29:03
  of
• 29:03
  funny
• 29:03
  because
• 29:03
  you
• 29:04
  mentioned
• 29:04
  earlier
• 29:04
  that
• 29:05
  you
• 29:05
  know,
• 29:05
  most
• 29:05
  of
• 29:05
  the
• 29:05
  patterns
• 29:06
  in
• 29:06
  the
• 29:06
  book
• 29:06
  are
• 29:07
  trout
• 29:07
  patterns
• 29:08
  and
• 29:08
  you
• 29:08
  know,
• 29:09
  you've
• 29:09
  kind
• 29:09
  of,
• 29:10
  you're
• 29:10
  making
• 29:10
  your
• 29:10
  living
• 29:11
  now
• 29:11
  kind
• 29:11
  of
• 29:11
  on
• 29:12
  the
• 29:12
  exotic
• 29:12
  stuff,
• 29:13
  the
• 29:13
  non
• 29:13
  trout
• 29:13
  species.
• 29:14
  You
• 29:14
  know,
• 29:14
  what
• 29:15
  was
• 29:15
  it
• 29:15
  like
• 29:15
  returning
• 29:16
  to
• 29:16
  your
• 29:16
  roots
• 29:16
  and
• 29:16
  writing
• 29:16
  about
• 29:17
  so
• 29:17
  many
• 29:17
  trout
• 29:17
  flies?
• 29:18
  Oh,
• 29:19
  it
• 29:19
  was
• 29:19
  great.
• 29:19
  I
• 29:19
  mean,
• 29:20
  you
• 29:20
  know,
• 29:20
  I've
• 29:20
  got,
• 29:20
  I've
• 29:21
  got
• 29:21
  a
• 29:21
  couple
• 29:21
  of
• 29:21
  trout
• 29:21
  flies
• 29:22
  in
• 29:22
  there
• 29:22
  myself,
• 29:23
  you
• 29:23
  know,
• 29:23
  and
• 29:23
  I,
• 29:24
  I
• 29:24
  fish
• 29:24
  trout
• 29:26
  and
• 29:26
  I
• 29:27
  will
• 29:27
  even
• 29:27
  occasionally
• 29:28
  guide
• 29:28
  for
• 29:28
  trout,
• 29:29
  but
• 29:29
  I
• 29:30
  definitely
• 29:30
  try
• 29:30
  to,
• 29:30
  to,
• 29:31
  you
• 29:31
  know,
• 29:31
  like
• 29:32
  there's
• 29:32
  so
• 29:32
  many
• 29:32
  people
• 29:33
  here,
• 29:33
  here
• 29:34
  in
• 29:34
  Vermont
• 29:34
  that,
• 29:34
  that
• 29:35
  guide
• 29:35
  for
• 29:35
  trout
• 29:35
  that
• 29:36
  I
• 29:36
  kind
• 29:36
  of
• 29:36
  wanted
• 29:37
  to
• 29:37
  separate
• 29:37
  myself
• 29:38
  from
• 29:38
  that.
• 29:39
  But
• 29:40
  you
• 29:40
  know,
• 29:41
  it's,
• 29:41
  it's
• 29:42
  really
• 29:42
  fun
• 29:43
  to
• 29:43
  see
• 29:44
  the
• 29:44
  variations
• 29:45
  of,
• 29:45
  of
• 29:46
  trout
• 29:46
  patterns.
• 29:46
  And
• 29:47
  you
• 29:47
  know,
• 29:47
  sometimes
• 29:48
  it
• 29:48
  was
• 29:48
  just
• 29:48
  like
• 29:50
  a
• 29:50
  good
• 29:51
  friend
• 29:51
  of
• 29:51
  mine
• 29:52
  put
• 29:53
  in
• 29:53
  this,
• 29:53
  this
• 29:55
  Tenkara
• 29:56
  CDC
• 29:58
  dry
• 29:58
  fly
• 30:00
  and
• 30:00
  it's
• 30:00
  a,
• 30:01
  it's
• 30:01
  a
• 30:01
  just
• 30:01
  a
• 30:01
  simple,
• 30:02
  fun
• 30:03
  little
• 30:03
  fly.
• 30:03
  And,
• 30:04
  and
• 30:04
  you
• 30:05
  know,
• 30:05
  that's
• 30:06
  such
• 30:07
  a
• 30:07
  difference
• 30:11
  from
• 30:11
  a
• 30:11
  couple
• 30:12
  of
• 30:12
  the
• 30:12
  other
• 30:12
  like
• 30:13
  super
• 30:13
  realistic
• 30:14
  patterns
• 30:15
  that
• 30:15
  are
• 30:16
  in
• 30:16
  the
• 30:16
  book.
• 30:18
  Thomas
• 30:18
  Ames
• 30:19
  put
• 30:20
  in
• 30:20
  a
• 30:20
  pattern
• 30:21
  for
• 30:23
  like,
• 30:24
  you
• 30:24
  know,
• 30:24
  he's,
• 30:25
  he
• 30:25
  just
• 30:25
  put
• 30:25
  out
• 30:26
  the
• 30:26
  New
• 30:26
  Eastern
• 30:27
  Hatch
• 30:27
  Guide,
• 30:28
  which
• 30:28
  is
• 30:29
  another
• 30:30
  fantastic
• 30:31
  book
• 30:31
  from
• 30:31
  Stackpole.
• 30:33
  But
• 30:34
  you
• 30:34
  know,
• 30:35
  he's,
• 30:35
  he's
• 30:36
  such
• 30:36
  a,
• 30:37
  you
• 30:37
  know,
• 30:38
  an
• 30:38
  entomology
• 30:39
  freak
• 30:41
  and
• 30:41
  you
• 30:42
  know,
• 30:42
  looking
• 30:42
  at
• 30:42
  the
• 30:42
  details
• 30:43
  and
• 30:43
  like,
• 30:43
  you
• 30:44
  know,
• 30:44
  why,
• 30:45
  you
• 30:45
  know,
• 30:46
  he
• 30:47
  looked
• 30:47
  at,
• 30:49
  why
• 30:49
  is
• 30:50
  he
• 30:50
  having
• 30:50
  such
• 30:50
  trouble
• 30:51
  getting
• 30:51
  these
• 30:52
  trout
• 30:53
  to
• 30:53
  eat
• 30:54
  emergers
• 30:55
  and,
• 30:56
  and
• 30:56
  realizing
• 30:56
  that,
• 30:57
  you
• 30:57
  know,
• 30:57
  this
• 30:57
  is
• 30:57
  a
• 30:58
  fly
• 30:58
  that's
• 30:58
  trapped
• 30:59
  in
• 30:59
  the
• 30:59
  surface
• 31:00
  film
• 31:01
  and
• 31:01
  a
• 31:01
  soft
• 31:01
  tackle
• 31:03
  pattern
• 31:03
  is
• 31:03
  going
• 31:03
  to
• 31:04
  be
• 31:04
  the
• 31:04
  thing
• 31:04
  that
• 31:04
  does
• 31:04
  it.
• 31:05
  And
• 31:05
  then,
• 31:06
  you
• 31:06
  know,
• 31:06
  he,
• 31:06
  he
• 31:07
  also
• 31:08
  didn't
• 31:09
  put
• 31:09
  in
• 31:09
  an
• 31:09
  emerging
• 31:10
  caddis
• 31:10
  pattern
• 31:11
  which
• 31:14
  is
• 31:14
  just
• 31:14
  a
• 31:14
  hyper
• 31:15
  realistic
• 31:16
  snapshot
• 31:17
  of
• 31:18
  a,
• 31:19
  an
• 31:20
  emerging
• 31:20
  catus
• 31:21
  in
• 31:21
  a
• 31:21
  very
• 31:21
  particular
• 31:22
  point
• 31:23
  in
• 31:23
  their,
• 31:24
  their
• 31:24
  emergence.
• 31:26
  And
• 31:27
  you
• 31:27
  know,
• 31:27
  what
• 31:28
  a
• 31:28
  contrast
• 31:29
  those
• 31:29
  flies,
• 31:29
  you
• 31:30
  know,
• 31:30
  the
• 31:30
  cdc,
• 31:31
  this
• 31:31
  really
• 31:31
  messy,
• 31:32
  buggy
• 31:32
  looking,
• 31:33
  you
• 31:34
  know,
• 31:34
  CDC
• 31:35
  thing
• 31:36
  that
• 31:36
  only
• 31:36
  uses
• 31:37
  like
• 31:37
  two
• 31:37
  materials
• 31:38
  compared
• 31:39
  to
• 31:39
  Tom's
• 31:40
  like
• 31:40
  realistic
• 31:41
  snapshot
• 31:42
  in
• 31:42
  the
• 31:42
  emergence
• 31:43
  of
• 31:43
  an
• 31:43
  insect.
• 31:45
  And
• 31:45
  I
• 31:46
  think
• 31:46
  that's
• 31:46
  a
• 31:46
  lot
• 31:46
  of
• 31:47
  fun.
• 31:48
  Yeah,
• 31:48
  very,
• 31:48
  very
• 31:49
  Neat.
• 31:49
  And
• 31:49
  so,
• 31:49
  you
• 31:49
  know,
• 31:49
  as
• 31:49
  you
• 31:50
  kind
• 31:50
  of
• 31:50
  reflect
• 31:50
  back,
• 31:51
  you
• 31:51
  know,
• 31:51
  on
• 31:51
  the
• 31:51
  book
• 31:51
  writing
• 31:52
  process,
• 31:52
  you
• 31:53
  know,
• 31:54
  Drew,
• 31:54
  what
• 31:54
  was
• 31:54
  the
• 31:54
  kind
• 31:55
  of
• 31:55
  the
• 31:55
  greatest
• 31:55
  challenge
• 31:56
  or
• 31:56
  surprise
• 31:56
  for
• 31:57
  you?
• 32:00
  You
• 32:00
  know,
• 32:03
  the,
• 32:04
  the
• 32:04
  biggest
• 32:05
  challenges
• 32:05
  was
• 32:06
  like,
• 32:07
  maintaining
• 32:08
  my
• 32:08
  focus,
• 32:10
  especially
• 32:11
  when
• 32:12
  the
• 32:12
  weather
• 32:12
  got
• 32:12
  nice
• 32:13
  and,
• 32:13
  and
• 32:14
  the
• 32:14
  fish
• 32:14
  were
• 32:14
  biting.
• 32:16
  You
• 32:16
  know,
• 32:16
  like,
• 32:18
  it's,
• 32:19
  it's
• 32:19
  hard.
• 32:20
  It
• 32:20
  was
• 32:21
  hard
• 32:21
  to
• 32:21
  pull
• 32:21
  myself
• 32:22
  away
• 32:22
  from
• 32:22
  the
• 32:22
  water
• 32:23
  and,
• 32:23
  and
• 32:24
  just
• 32:24
  making
• 32:24
  the
• 32:24
  time
• 32:25
  to,
• 32:25
  you
• 32:26
  know,
• 32:26
  like
• 32:26
  to
• 32:26
  focus
• 32:27
  in
• 32:27
  on
• 32:27
  what
• 32:27
  I
• 32:28
  need
• 32:28
  to
• 32:28
  get
• 32:28
  done.
• 32:29
  And,
• 32:30
  and,
• 32:31
  and,
• 32:32
  and
• 32:32
  I
• 32:32
  did
• 32:32
  a
• 32:32
  lot
• 32:32
  of
• 32:32
  writing
• 32:33
  over
• 32:33
  the
• 32:33
  winter.
• 32:35
  But,
• 32:36
  you
• 32:36
  know,
• 32:37
  as
• 32:37
  it,
• 32:37
  as
• 32:37
  it
• 32:37
  got
• 32:38
  nicer
• 32:38
  and
• 32:38
  nicer,
• 32:39
  it
• 32:39
  was.
• 32:39
  It
• 32:40
  was
• 32:40
  harder
• 32:40
  and
• 32:40
  harder
• 32:41
  for
• 32:41
  me
• 32:41
  to
• 32:41
  maintain
• 32:42
  focus
• 32:42
  on
• 32:43
  writing
• 32:44
  when
• 32:44
  I
• 32:44
  knew
• 32:45
  the
• 32:45
  fish
• 32:45
  were
• 32:45
  biting.
• 32:46
  I
• 32:46
  think
• 32:46
  that
• 32:47
  was,
• 32:47
  that
• 32:47
  was
• 32:47
  the,
• 32:47
  that
• 32:48
  was
• 32:48
  the
• 32:48
  biggest
• 32:48
  challenge
• 32:49
  for
• 32:49
  me.
• 32:49
  Yeah.
• 32:50
  Got
• 32:50
  it.
• 32:50
  And,
• 32:50
  you
• 32:51
  know,
• 32:51
  what
• 32:51
  did
• 32:51
  you
• 32:51
  learn
• 32:51
  about
• 32:52
  yourself
• 32:52
  going
• 32:52
  through
• 32:53
  this
• 32:53
  entire
• 32:53
  process?
• 32:55
  You
• 32:56
  know,
• 32:57
  this
• 32:57
  is
• 32:58
  something
• 32:58
  I
• 32:58
  think
• 32:58
  I
• 32:58
  relearned
• 32:59
  about
• 32:59
  myself.
• 33:00
  I
• 33:01
  do
• 33:01
  really
• 33:02
  enjoy
• 33:02
  writing
• 33:03
  and,
• 33:04
  and,
• 33:04
  and
• 33:05
  I'm
• 33:05
  a
• 33:05
  very
• 33:05
  good
• 33:05
  writer
• 33:07
  and
• 33:07
  it's
• 33:07
  something
• 33:07
  that
• 33:08
  I,
• 33:08
  I
• 33:08
  need
• 33:09
  to
• 33:09
  explore
• 33:10
  in
• 33:10
  myself
• 33:11
  more.
• 33:11
  And
• 33:12
  that's
• 33:12
  something
• 33:12
  that
• 33:12
  I'm
• 33:12
  trying
• 33:13
  to
• 33:13
  do
• 33:13
  more
• 33:15
  and,
• 33:16
  and,
• 33:16
  and
• 33:17
  you
• 33:17
  know,
• 33:17
  dig
• 33:18
  into
• 33:18
  that.
• 33:18
  That
• 33:19
  part
• 33:19
  of
• 33:19
  me
• 33:21
  because,
• 33:22
  you
• 33:22
  know,
• 33:22
  I've
• 33:23
  got
• 33:23
  a
• 33:23
  lot
• 33:23
  of
• 33:23
  great
• 33:23
  stories
• 33:23
  to
• 33:24
  tell.
• 33:24
  I've
• 33:24
  got
• 33:24
  a
• 33:24
  lot
• 33:24
  of
• 33:24
  great
• 33:25
  information
• 33:25
  to
• 33:25
  share.
• 33:27
  And
• 33:28
  you
• 33:28
  know,
• 33:28
  the
• 33:29
  written
• 33:29
  word
• 33:29
  is
• 33:29
  something
• 33:30
  that,
• 33:31
  you
• 33:31
  know,
• 33:31
  like,
• 33:32
  I
• 33:32
  hold
• 33:33
  dear
• 33:34
  and,
• 33:35
  and,
• 33:35
  and
• 33:35
  it's
• 33:35
  something
• 33:36
  that.
• 33:40
  It's
• 33:40
  an
• 33:40
  art
• 33:40
  form
• 33:41
  that
• 33:41
  I
• 33:41
  worry
• 33:41
  about,
• 33:41
  especially
• 33:42
  with
• 33:42
  all
• 33:42
  the,
• 33:43
  the
• 33:43
  AI
• 33:43
  these
• 33:44
  days
• 33:44
  and
• 33:44
  how
• 33:44
  easy
• 33:45
  it
• 33:45
  is
• 33:45
  to.
• 33:45
  To.
• 33:46
  To
• 33:46
  pump
• 33:46
  something
• 33:47
  out
• 33:47
  and
• 33:47
  just,
• 33:47
  you
• 33:47
  know,
• 33:48
  put
• 33:49
  something
• 33:49
  into
• 33:49
  chat
• 33:49
  GPT
• 33:50
  and
• 33:51
  you
• 33:51
  know,
• 33:51
  have
• 33:52
  it
• 33:52
  just
• 33:52
  crank
• 33:52
  stuff
• 33:53
  out
• 33:53
  for
• 33:53
  you.
• 33:54
  And,
• 33:55
  you
• 33:55
  know,
• 33:55
  I
• 33:55
  would
• 33:56
  much
• 33:56
  rather
• 33:56
  sit
• 33:57
  down
• 33:57
  and
• 33:58
  work
• 33:58
  through
• 33:59
  how
• 33:59
  to
• 33:59
  write
• 34:00
  something
• 34:00
  myself.
• 34:02
  And,
• 34:03
  and
• 34:03
  that's
• 34:04
  something
• 34:04
  I,
• 34:05
  you
• 34:05
  know,
• 34:06
  I
• 34:06
  would
• 34:06
  encourage
• 34:07
  others
• 34:07
  to
• 34:07
  do
• 34:07
  as
• 34:08
  well.
• 34:09
  Yeah.
• 34:10
  Very
• 34:10
  neat.
• 34:10
  Yeah,
• 34:11
  it's
• 34:11
  funny.
• 34:11
  We
• 34:11
  can.
• 34:11
  Some
• 34:12
  next
• 34:12
  time
• 34:12
  we're
• 34:12
  together,
• 34:13
  we
• 34:13
  can
• 34:13
  have
• 34:13
  a
• 34:13
  couple
• 34:13
  of
• 34:13
  beers
• 34:14
  and
• 34:14
  talk
• 34:14
  about
• 34:14
  the
• 34:14
  AI
• 34:15
  stuff
• 34:15
  because
• 34:15
  it's
• 34:15
  something
• 34:15
  that
• 34:17
  kind
• 34:17
  of
• 34:17
  finding
• 34:17
  that
• 34:17
  line
• 34:18
  as
• 34:18
  a
• 34:18
  creator.
• 34:18
  But,
• 34:19
  you
• 34:19
  know,
• 34:19
  it's
• 34:19
  interesting
• 34:20
  too
• 34:20
  to
• 34:20
  hear
• 34:20
  you
• 34:20
  say
• 34:20
  that
• 34:21
  because,
• 34:21
  you
• 34:21
  know,
• 34:21
  I,
• 34:21
  When
• 34:21
  I
• 34:22
  interview
• 34:22
  authors,
• 34:23
  they're.
• 34:23
  They
• 34:23
  come
• 34:24
  in
• 34:24
  two
• 34:24
  flavors.
• 34:24
  Either
• 34:25
  they're
• 34:25
  so
• 34:25
  deeply
• 34:25
  traumatized
• 34:26
  by
• 34:26
  the
• 34:26
  writing
• 34:27
  experience
• 34:29
  that
• 34:29
  they'll.
• 34:29
  That
• 34:30
  they'll
• 34:30
  never
• 34:30
  write
• 34:30
  another
• 34:31
  book,
• 34:31
  or
• 34:31
  they're
• 34:31
  like
• 34:32
  you,
• 34:32
  and
• 34:32
  you're
• 34:32
  like,
• 34:32
  hey,
• 34:32
  man,
• 34:32
  like,
• 34:33
  I
• 34:33
  kind
• 34:33
  of
• 34:33
  like
• 34:33
  this
• 34:34
  and
• 34:34
  I'm
• 34:34
  going
• 34:34
  to
• 34:34
  try
• 34:34
  magazine
• 34:35
  articles
• 34:35
  and
• 34:35
  write
• 34:35
  more
• 34:36
  books.
• 34:36
  Right,
• 34:37
  right.
• 34:37
  And,
• 34:38
  you
• 34:38
  know,
• 34:38
  I've
• 34:38
  written
• 34:38
  magazine
• 34:39
  articles
• 34:39
  and
• 34:40
  newspaper
• 34:40
  articles
• 34:41
  in
• 34:41
  the
• 34:41
  past.
• 34:42
  And,
• 34:44
  you
• 34:44
  know,
• 34:44
  I,
• 34:45
  I
• 34:45
  just
• 34:46
  need
• 34:46
  to,
• 34:47
  like,
• 34:48
  once
• 34:48
  I
• 34:49
  have
• 34:49
  some
• 34:49
  success
• 34:49
  with
• 34:50
  something,
• 34:51
  it
• 34:51
  really
• 34:51
  keeps
• 34:52
  me,
• 34:53
  it,
• 34:53
  you
• 34:53
  know,
• 34:53
  gets
• 34:54
  me
• 34:54
  fired
• 34:54
  up
• 34:54
  to,
• 34:54
  to
• 34:55
  do
• 34:55
  more
• 34:55
  of
• 34:55
  that,
• 34:56
  you
• 34:56
  know.
• 34:57
  And,
• 34:58
  you
• 34:59
  know,
• 34:59
  I,
• 34:59
  but
• 34:59
  I
• 34:59
  can
• 35:00
  also
• 35:00
  see
• 35:00
  how
• 35:00
  it
• 35:00
  can
• 35:00
  be
• 35:00
  very
• 35:01
  traumatizing.
• 35:01
  I
• 35:02
  worked
• 35:02
  in
• 35:02
  education
• 35:03
  for,
• 35:04
  for
• 35:04
  over
• 35:05
  10
• 35:05
  years
• 35:06
  and,
• 35:07
  and,
• 35:07
  and
• 35:07
  helping
• 35:08
  kids
• 35:08
  learn
• 35:09
  how
• 35:09
  to
• 35:09
  write.
• 35:10
  And
• 35:11
  you
• 35:11
  know,
• 35:11
  I,
• 35:12
  I,
• 35:12
  I
• 35:13
  recognize
• 35:13
  the
• 35:13
  trauma
• 35:14
  that
• 35:15
  writing
• 35:15
  can
• 35:16
  break
• 35:16
  out
• 35:16
  people.
• 35:17
  And
• 35:18
  it's
• 35:18
  real.
• 35:19
  It's
• 35:19
  definitely
• 35:20
  real.
• 35:22
  There's
• 35:22
  nothing
• 35:22
  worse
• 35:23
  than
• 35:23
  a
• 35:23
  kid
• 35:23
  in
• 35:24
  seventh
• 35:24
  grade
• 35:24
  who
• 35:24
  doesn't
• 35:25
  want
• 35:25
  to
• 35:25
  write.
• 35:27
  That's
• 35:27
  pulling
• 35:28
  teeth.
• 35:29
  Yeah.
• 35:30
  Although
• 35:30
  I
• 35:30
  would
• 35:30
  say
• 35:31
  so.
• 35:31
  My
• 35:31
  boys
• 35:31
  are
• 35:31
  23
• 35:32
  and
• 35:32
  17.
• 35:32
  I
• 35:33
  think
• 35:33
  we've
• 35:33
  done
• 35:33
  a
• 35:33
  lot
• 35:34
  to
• 35:34
  make
• 35:35
  English
• 35:36
  in
• 35:36
  particular
• 35:37
  not
• 35:37
  a
• 35:37
  very
• 35:37
  fun
• 35:38
  subject.
• 35:38
  Right,
• 35:39
  right.
• 35:40
  You
• 35:40
  know,
• 35:40
  like,
• 35:40
  they
• 35:41

• 35:41
  don't
• 35:41
  do
• 35:41
  as
• 35:41
  much
• 35:42
  as
• 35:42
  is
• 35:42
  like
• 35:42
  I
• 35:42
  did
• 35:43
  when
• 35:43
  I
• 35:43
  was
• 35:43
  in
• 35:43
  school.
• 35:43
  They
• 35:44
  don't
• 35:44
  read
• 35:44
  as
• 35:44
  many
• 35:44
  books
• 35:44
  and
• 35:44
  they
• 35:45
  don't
• 35:45
  write
• 35:45
  as
• 35:45
  much.
• 35:45
  But
• 35:46
  you
• 35:46
  know,
• 35:46
  the
• 35:46
  stuff
• 35:47
  where,
• 35:47
  like,
• 35:47
  it's
• 35:47
  more
• 35:47
  important
• 35:48
  to
• 35:48
  like,
• 35:48
  annotate
• 35:49
  the
• 35:49
  bejesus
• 35:50
  out
• 35:50
  of
• 35:50
  a
• 35:50
  book
• 35:50
  than
• 35:50
  to
• 35:50
  read
• 35:51
  it
• 35:51
  and
• 35:51
  enjoy
• 35:51
  it.
• 35:52
  Yeah.
• 35:53
  You
• 35:53
  know,
• 35:54
  like,
• 35:54
  you
• 35:54
  know,
• 35:54
  give
• 35:55
  a
• 35:55
  kid
• 35:55
  Tale
• 35:55
  of
• 35:55
  Two
• 35:55
  Cities
• 35:56
  and
• 35:56
  grade
• 35:56
  him
• 35:56
  on,
• 35:56
  like,
• 35:57
  how
• 35:57
  many
• 35:57
  different
• 35:57
  highlighter
• 35:58
  colors
• 35:58
  you
• 35:58
  put
• 35:58
  in
• 35:58
  the
• 35:59
  book.
• 35:59
  And
• 35:59
  I'm
• 35:59
  not
• 35:59
  so
• 35:59
  sure
• 36:00
  we're
• 36:00
  accomplishing
• 36:00
  what
• 36:01
  we
• 36:01
  set
• 36:01
  out
• 36:01
  to.
• 36:02
  No,
• 36:02
  I
• 36:03
  fully
• 36:04
  agree
• 36:04
  with
• 36:04
  that.
• 36:05
  And
• 36:06
  you
• 36:06
  know,
• 36:07
  at
• 36:07
  the
• 36:07
  same
• 36:08
  time,
• 36:09
  you
• 36:09
  know,
• 36:10
  you
• 36:10
  know,
• 36:10
  we,
• 36:10
  we
• 36:11
  mentioned
• 36:11
  AI
• 36:12
  and,
• 36:12
  and
• 36:13
  I
• 36:13
  got
• 36:13
  out
• 36:13
  of
• 36:13
  education
• 36:14
  before
• 36:15
  ChatGPT
• 36:16
  really
• 36:17
  became,
• 36:18
  you
• 36:18
  know,
• 36:18
  it.
• 36:19
  I
• 36:19
  know
• 36:20
  people
• 36:20
  in
• 36:20
  education
• 36:21
  now
• 36:21
  and
• 36:21
  I,
• 36:21
  and
• 36:21
  I
• 36:22
  will,
• 36:22
  I
• 36:22
  say
• 36:22
  this
• 36:22
  very
• 36:23
  intentionally
• 36:24
  where
• 36:24
  it's
• 36:24
  kind
• 36:24
  of
• 36:25
  become
• 36:25
  a
• 36:25
  problem
• 36:26
  in,
• 36:26
  in,
• 36:27
  in
• 36:27
  education
• 36:28
  where,
• 36:28
  you
• 36:29
  know,
• 36:29
  like,
• 36:29
  you
• 36:30
  don't
• 36:30
  have
• 36:30
  to
• 36:30
  right
• 36:30
  now
• 36:31
  if
• 36:31
  you
• 36:31
  don't
• 36:31
  want
• 36:31
  to.
• 36:32
  But,
• 36:33
  you
• 36:33
  know,
• 36:33
  plagiarism
• 36:34
  is
• 36:34
  a,
• 36:34
  is
• 36:34
  a
• 36:34
  big
• 36:34
  thing.
• 36:35
  And,
• 36:35
  and,
• 36:35
  and
• 36:36
  I
• 36:36
  had
• 36:38
  one
• 36:38
  thing
• 36:38
  that
• 36:38
  kept
• 36:39
  me
• 36:39
  from,
• 36:39
  from
• 36:40
  really
• 36:40
  writing
• 36:41
  for,
• 36:41
  for
• 36:41
  a
• 36:41
  while
• 36:42
  is
• 36:42
  I
• 36:43
  submitted,
• 36:44
  I,
• 36:44
  I
• 36:44
  was
• 36:45
  contacted
• 36:46
  by
• 36:46
  a
• 36:46
  writer
• 36:47
  from
• 36:48
  a
• 36:48
  New
• 36:48
  England
• 36:49
  magazine.
• 36:50
  I'm
• 36:51
  not
• 36:51
  going
• 36:51
  to
• 36:51
  name
• 36:51
  the
• 36:51
  writer.
• 36:51
  I'm
• 36:52
  not
• 36:52
  going
• 36:52
  to
• 36:52
  name
• 36:52
  the
• 36:52
  magazine,
• 36:53
  but
• 36:54
  he
• 36:55
  asked
• 36:55
  me
• 36:55
  a
• 36:55
  bunch
• 36:55
  of
• 36:55
  questions
• 36:56
  about
• 36:57
  fly
• 36:57
  fishing
• 36:57
  on
• 36:58
  Lake
• 36:58
  Champlain,
• 37:00
  and
• 37:00
  I
• 37:01
  wrote
• 37:01
  a
• 37:01
  bunch
• 37:01
  of
• 37:01
  stuff.
• 37:02
  And
• 37:04
  he
• 37:04
  literally
• 37:05
  took
• 37:05
  what
• 37:05
  I
• 37:06
  wrote
• 37:07
  him,
• 37:09
  and
• 37:09
  he
• 37:09
  just
• 37:10
  changed
• 37:10
  the
• 37:10
  pronouns
• 37:11
  from
• 37:12
  I
• 37:12
  to
• 37:12
  he
• 37:14
  and
• 37:15
  basically
• 37:16
  plagiarized
• 37:17
  most
• 37:17
  of
• 37:17
  the
• 37:17
  article
• 37:18
  on
• 37:19
  my
• 37:19
  writing.
• 37:20
  So
• 37:21
  while
• 37:21
  I,
• 37:22
  you
• 37:22
  know,
• 37:23
  I,
• 37:23
  I
• 37:23
  think
• 37:23
  it
• 37:24
  is
• 37:24
  tough
• 37:25
  to,
• 37:26
  for,
• 37:26
  for,
• 37:27
  you
• 37:27
  know,
• 37:28
  for
• 37:29
  kids
• 37:29
  to
• 37:29
  get
• 37:29
  really
• 37:30
  excited
• 37:30
  about
• 37:30
  writing
• 37:33
  because
• 37:33
  they
• 37:33
  have
• 37:33
  to,
• 37:34
  do
• 37:34
  they
• 37:34
  have
• 37:34
  to
• 37:34
  annotize
• 37:36
  you
• 37:36
  know,
• 37:36
  put
• 37:36
  in
• 37:37
  a
• 37:37
  lot
• 37:37
  of
• 37:37
  notes
• 37:37
  and
• 37:37
  put
• 37:37
  in
• 37:37
  a
• 37:38
  lot
• 37:38
  of
• 37:38
  references
• 37:38
  and
• 37:39
  put
• 37:39
  in
• 37:39
  those
• 37:39
  proper
• 37:40
  citations
• 37:41
  at
• 37:41
  the
• 37:41
  same
• 37:41
  time.
• 37:42
  When
• 37:42
  you've
• 37:42
  been
• 37:42
  plagiarized.
• 37:44
  I
• 37:44
  get
• 37:45
  it.
• 37:46
  You
• 37:46
  know,
• 37:47
  and
• 37:47
  we
• 37:47
  don't
• 37:47
  want
• 37:47
  kids
• 37:48
  plagiarizing
• 37:49
  stuff.
• 37:50
  So
• 37:50
  I
• 37:51
  think
• 37:51
  there's,
• 37:51
  it's
• 37:52
  a
• 37:52
  double
• 37:52
  edged
• 37:52
  sword,
• 37:52
  right?
• 37:53
  Yeah,
• 37:53
  100%.
• 37:54
  And
• 37:54
  so
• 37:54
  you
• 37:54
  know,
• 37:55
  if
• 37:55
  folks
• 37:55
  are
• 37:55
  excited
• 37:55
  and
• 37:56
  they
• 37:56
  want
• 37:56
  to
• 37:56
  get
• 37:56
  a
• 37:56
  copy
• 37:57
  of
• 37:57
  your
• 37:57
  book,
• 37:57
  you
• 37:57
  know,
• 37:57
  where
• 37:58
  can
• 37:58
  they
• 37:58
  go
• 37:58
  in
• 37:58
  general
• 37:58
  but
• 37:59
  also
• 37:59
  too,
• 38:00
  you
• 38:00
  know,
• 38:00
  like,
• 38:01
  you
• 38:01
  know,
• 38:01
  you're
• 38:01
  not,
• 38:01
  you
• 38:02
  know,
• 38:02
  you
• 38:02
  were
• 38:02
  at
• 38:02
  Edison.
• 38:02
  I
• 38:02
  don't
• 38:03
  think
• 38:03
  you're
• 38:03
  doing
• 38:03
  any
• 38:03
  of
• 38:03
  the
• 38:03

• 38:04

• 38:04
  shows.
• 38:04
  If
• 38:05
  folks
• 38:05
  wanted
• 38:05
  a
• 38:05
  personalized
• 38:06

• 38:06
  where
• 38:06
  should
• 38:06
  they
• 38:07
  go?
• 38:08
  Well,
• 38:08
  I
• 38:08
  mean
• 38:09
  I,
• 38:09
  I,
• 38:09

• 38:16
  I'm
• 38:16
  not
• 38:16

  I,
• 38:19
  I

• 39:29
  it's

• 39:39
  Yeah,
• 39:40
  I
• 39:40
  mean
• 39:40
  I,
• 39:40
  I've
• 39:40
  done,
• 39:41

• 40:02
  Got

  it.
• 40:03
  I'll,
• 40:03
  I'll
• 40:04
  hop
• 40:04
  out
• 40:04
  on
• 40:04
  the
• 40:04
  Internet
• 40:04
  and
• 40:05
  try
• 40:05
  to
• 40:05
  drop
• 40:05
  that
• 40:05
  in
• 40:05
  the
• 40:05

• 40:06
  notes
• 40:06
  for
• 40:06
  you.
• 40:06
  Fantastic.
• 40:07
  Yeah
• 40:07
  I'll,
• 40:08
  I'll
• 40:08
  send
• 40:09
  you,
• 40:09
  I'll
• 40:09
  send
• 40:09
  You
• 40:09
  a
• 40:09
  link
• 40:10
  to
• 40:10
  it,
• 40:11
  you
• 40:11
  know,
• 40:11
  had
• 40:12
  a
• 40:12
  lot
• 40:12
  going
• 40:12
  on
• 40:12
  in
• 40:13
  recent
• 40:13
  days
• 40:13
  and,
• 40:14
  and
• 40:14
  you
• 40:15
  know,
• 40:15
  sometimes
• 40:15
  this
• 40:15
  becomes
• 40:16
  a
• 40:16
  blur.
• 40:19
  No,
• 40:19
  I
• 40:19
  completely
• 40:20
  understand.
• 40:20
  Traveling
• 40:21
  two
• 40:21
  weeks
• 40:21
  to
• 40:22
  shows
• 40:22
  is
• 40:22
  fun
• 40:22
  but
• 40:23
  the
• 40:23
  re
• 40:23
  entry
• 40:23
  sometimes
• 40:24
  can
• 40:24
  be
• 40:24
  a
• 40:24
  little
• 40:24
  difficult.
• 40:25
  Right,
• 40:25
  right.
• 40:26
  And
• 40:26
  like
• 40:26
  I
• 40:26
  said,
• 40:27
  we've
• 40:27
  been,
• 40:27
  we
• 40:27
  just
• 40:28
  moved
• 40:28
  the
• 40:28
  shop
• 40:28
  that
• 40:28
  I
• 40:28
  work
• 40:29
  at
• 40:29
  and
• 40:30
  that's
• 40:31
  been,
• 40:31
  that's
• 40:31
  been
• 40:31
  a
• 40:31
  big
• 40:32
  process.
• 40:33
  So
• 40:33
  it's
• 40:34
  just
• 40:34
  been
• 40:35
  go,
• 40:35
  go,
• 40:35
  go
• 40:36
  and,
• 40:36
  and
• 40:37
  I'm
• 40:37
  in
• 40:37
  the
• 40:37
  midst
• 40:38
  of
• 40:38
  writing
• 40:38
  something,
• 40:39
  something
• 40:40
  entirely
• 40:41
  different
• 40:41
  that's
• 40:41
  not
• 40:41
  fly
• 40:42
  fishing
• 40:42
  related
• 40:43
  that
• 40:43
  I'll
• 40:44
  keep
• 40:44
  as
• 40:44
  a
• 40:44
  bit
• 40:44
  of
• 40:44
  a
• 40:45
  surprise
• 40:45
  in
• 40:45
  my
• 40:46
  back
• 40:46
  pocket
• 40:46
  for
• 40:47
  when
• 40:47
  it
• 40:47
  comes
• 40:47
  out.
• 40:48
  Yeah,
• 40:49
  very
• 40:49
  neat.
• 40:49
  And
• 40:49
  so,
• 40:49
  you
• 40:49
  know,
• 40:50
  before
• 40:50
  I
• 40:50
  let
• 40:50
  you
• 40:50
  hop
• 40:50
  this
• 40:51
  evening,
• 40:51
  Drew,
• 40:52
  anything
• 40:52
  else
• 40:52
  you
• 40:52
  want
• 40:52
  to
• 40:53
  share
• 40:53
  with
• 40:53
  our
• 40:53
  listeners?
• 40:55
  You
• 40:55
  know,
• 40:55
  if,
• 40:55
  if
• 40:55
  you're
• 40:56
  interested
• 40:56
  in
• 40:58
  fly
• 40:58
  fishing
• 40:58
  on
• 40:58
  Lake
• 40:59
  Champlain
• 41:00
  or
• 41:00
  in,
• 41:00
  you
• 41:01
  know,
• 41:01
  the
• 41:01
  surrounding
• 41:01
  areas,
• 41:02
  hit
• 41:02
  me
• 41:03
  up
• 41:03
  as
• 41:04
  soon
• 41:04
  as
• 41:04
  possible.
• 41:05
  I
• 41:05
  am
• 41:05
  booking
• 41:06
  fast.
• 41:07
  I
• 41:07
  have
• 41:07
  limited
• 41:08
  dates
• 41:09
  and
• 41:10
  you
• 41:10
  know
• 41:10
  the
• 41:10
  season
• 41:11
  is
• 41:11
  going
• 41:11
  to
• 41:11
  be
• 41:11
  coming
• 41:12
  up
• 41:13
  really
• 41:13
  quickly.
• 41:14
  Things
• 41:14
  will,
• 41:15
  as
• 41:16
  soon
• 41:16
  as
• 41:17
  the
• 41:17
  ice
• 41:17
  starts
• 41:18
  melting
• 41:18
  off
• 41:18
  the
• 41:18
  lake,
• 41:19
  we'll
• 41:19
  have
• 41:19
  lake
• 41:19
  trout
• 41:20
  going
• 41:20
  and
• 41:21
  it
• 41:21
  won't
• 41:21
  be
• 41:21
  long
• 41:22
  before
• 41:23
  bowfin
• 41:23
  and
• 41:23
  pike
• 41:23
  and
• 41:24
  bass
• 41:24
  and
• 41:25
  all
• 41:25
  the
• 41:25
  critters
• 41:26
  that
• 41:26
  are
• 41:26
  around
• 41:27
  are,
• 41:27
  are
• 41:27
  hopping.
• 41:29
  And
• 41:31
  it's,
• 41:31
  it's
• 41:32
  such
• 41:32
  an
• 41:32
  amazing
• 41:32
  place.
• 41:33
  It's
• 41:33
  such
• 41:33
  a
• 41:34
  beautiful
• 41:34
  place.
• 41:35
  And
• 41:37
  you
• 41:37
  know,
• 41:37
  the,
• 41:38
  the
• 41:38
  multi
• 41:39
  species
• 41:40
  aspect
• 41:40
  of
• 41:40
  Lake
• 41:41
  Champlain
• 41:41
  is
• 41:41
  something
• 41:42
  really
• 41:42
  special
• 41:44
  that
• 41:44
  I
• 41:45
  think
• 41:45
  every
• 41:46
  fly
• 41:46
  angler
• 41:47
  should
• 41:47
  try
• 41:47
  out
• 41:48
  at
• 41:48
  some
• 41:48
  point
• 41:48
  in
• 41:49
  their,
• 41:49
  their,
• 41:50
  their
• 41:50
  travels.
• 41:51
  So
• 41:52
  you
• 41:52
  know,
• 41:52
  hit
• 41:53
  me
• 41:53
  up
• 41:54
  at
• 41:54
  masterclassangling.com
• 41:55
  or
• 41:55
  look
• 41:55
  at,
• 41:56
  you
• 41:56
  know,
• 41:56
  look
• 41:56
  for
• 41:56
  me
• 41:56
  on,
• 41:57
  on
• 41:57
  Instagram
• 41:58
  @masterclassangling.
• 42:00
  Very
• 42:00
  neat.
• 42:00
  And
• 42:00
  I
• 42:01
  will
• 42:01
  drop
• 42:01
  links
• 42:01
  to
• 42:02
  all
• 42:02
  that
• 42:02
  stuff
• 42:02
  in
• 42:02
  the
• 42:02
  show
• 42:02
  notes
• 42:03
  and
• 42:03
  I'll
• 42:03
  also
• 42:03
  drop
• 42:04
  a
• 42:04
  link
• 42:04
  to
• 42:04
  our
• 42:04
  first
• 42:04
  interview
• 42:05
  so
• 42:05
  if
• 42:05
  folks
• 42:06
  want
• 42:06
  to
• 42:06
  learn
• 42:06
  more
• 42:07
  because
• 42:07
  we
• 42:07
  took
• 42:07
  a
• 42:07
  deeper
• 42:08
  dive
• 42:08
  into
• 42:08
  the
• 42:08
  fishery
• 42:09
  and
• 42:09
  I
• 42:09
  think
• 42:09
  we
• 42:10
  spent
• 42:10
  most
• 42:10
  of
• 42:10
  our
• 42:10
  time,
• 42:11
  you
• 42:11
  know,
• 42:11
  on
• 42:11
  your
• 42:11
  obsession
• 42:12
  with
• 42:12
  bowfin.
• 42:12
  But
• 42:13
  you
• 42:13
  know,
• 42:13
  you've
• 42:13
  got,
• 42:14
  you've
• 42:14
  got
• 42:14
  drum,
• 42:14
  smallmouth,
• 42:15
  lake
• 42:15
  trout.
• 42:16
  I
• 42:16
  mean
• 42:16
  you've
• 42:16
  got
• 42:16
  pretty
• 42:17
  much
• 42:17
  anything
• 42:17
  with,
• 42:18
  with
• 42:18
  fins,
• 42:20
  right.
• 42:20
  That
• 42:20
  and
• 42:21
  you
• 42:21
  target
• 42:21
  them
• 42:21
  all.
• 42:22
  And
• 42:22
  like
• 42:22
  you
• 42:22
  said,
• 42:22
  you're
• 42:22
  not
• 42:23
  averse
• 42:23
  to
• 42:23
  guiding
• 42:23
  for
• 42:23
  trout
• 42:24
  but
• 42:24
  you
• 42:24
  kind
• 42:24
  of
• 42:25
  wanted
• 42:25
  to
• 42:25
  create
• 42:25
  a
• 42:26
  unique
• 42:26
  lane.
• 42:26
  So
• 42:26
  there's
• 42:27
  some
• 42:27
  great
• 42:27
  opportunities
• 42:27
  if
• 42:28
  folks
• 42:28
  can
• 42:28
  get
• 42:28
  up
• 42:28
  to
• 42:29
  you.
• 42:29
  Yeah,
• 42:29
  I
• 42:29
  mean
• 42:30
  we,
• 42:30
  you
• 42:30
  know,
• 42:30
  we've
• 42:30
  got
• 42:30
  88
• 42:31
  different
• 42:31
  species
• 42:32
  in
• 42:32
  the,
• 42:32
  in
• 42:33
  the
• 42:33
  lake
• 42:33
  and
• 42:33
  I
• 42:34
  would
• 42:34
  say,
• 42:34
  you
• 42:34
  know,
• 42:35
  close
• 42:35
  to
• 42:35
  30
• 42:35
  of
• 42:36
  them
• 42:36
  are
• 42:36
  available
• 42:36
  to
• 42:36
  fly
• 42:37
  anglers
• 42:38
  which
• 42:38
  is,
• 42:38
  I
• 42:38
  mean
• 42:39
  that's
• 42:39
  really
• 42:39
  cool.
• 42:39
  I've
• 42:40
  caught
• 42:40
  as
• 42:40
  many
• 42:40
  as
• 42:41
  15
• 42:41
  different
• 42:41
  species
• 42:42
  in
• 42:42
  a
• 42:42
  day
• 42:43
  on
• 42:43
  a
• 42:43
  fly
• 42:43
  on
• 42:44
  the
• 42:44
  lake.
• 42:45
  So
• 42:46
  it's.
• 42:46
  I.
• 42:46
  I
• 42:47
  think
• 42:47
  that's
• 42:47
  just,
• 42:47
  you
• 42:48
  know,
• 42:49
  really
• 42:49
  a
• 42:50
  lot
• 42:50
  of
• 42:50
  fun.
• 42:51
  It's
• 42:51
  a.
• 42:51
  It's
• 42:52
  a.
• 42:52
  It's
