- 2:04Speaker 8: Side Golf was born. Grew up in East Atlanta playing golf.
- 2:07Speaker 8: But that transition to how the clothes look red clay
- 2:10Speaker 8: collection and I used to take the bus to the

- 2:16Speaker 3: Red clay mud all over my shoes.

- 2:35Speaker 5: Yes, Earl and Elijah on from East Side Golf. So
- 2:39Speaker 5: if you've been watching EYO, you know, we interviewed them
- 2:41Speaker 5: probably like two years.
- 2:42Speaker 6: Ago, twenty twenty one, August twenty.
- 2:45Speaker 5: One, two years ago, and you know, we talked about
- 2:49Speaker 5: their journey as far as revolutionizing the sport of golf
- 2:52Speaker 5: when it comes to fashion and poil and swag all
- 2:55Speaker 5: the way around, you know, having the collaboration with Jordan Brandon,
- 2:59Speaker 5: really taking off of sorts. And since then they've been
- 3:04Speaker 5: out of here. You know, they got the series, they
- 3:08Speaker 5: got the new collection with Jordan, and they've been traveling.
- 3:11Speaker 3: All over the world, meeting with world leaders and.
- 3:14Speaker 6: Influences, driving the finest of cars. For sure, guys.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I mean people say that we're everywhere, but I mean
- 3:25Speaker 4: every time we go somewhere, you're there, So I feel
- 3:28Speaker 4: like most of the time.
- 3:30Speaker 3: We're chasing, y'all. That's the whole thing. Throughout the world though.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Yes, we run through each other throughout the world.
- 3:34Speaker 3: This is true.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Had a good time in Paris.
- 3:37Speaker 3: You know. Before we get into that, though, we want
- 3:39Speaker 3: to bless y'all with some gifts right quick.
- 3:41Speaker 6: They come very gifts.
- 3:42Speaker 9: We didn't come any handy, you know, talking about you know,
- 3:45Speaker 9: the new collections and stuff on the way.
- 3:47Speaker 4: So so the new collection is here, yes, yes, yes,
- 3:51Speaker 4: oh boy, I appreciate it, brother, Thank you.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Collection nineteen sixty one, very important. This is an Alisha
- 4:01Speaker 3: on it.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Well, you know this is a habit because well you
- 4:04Speaker 5: didn't give us anything last time, but you did make
- 4:07Speaker 5: an appearance with DJ Khalt.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Yes that was yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah. He
- 4:14Speaker 3: was on them shoes too. He was like, I got
- 4:17Speaker 3: my shoes.
- 4:19Speaker 6: The first thing I went for is the sneakers. He
- 4:21Speaker 6: went for the closes the hoodie.
- 4:23Speaker 3: That's the hoodie. That's the hoodie. Yeah. Change collection, man.
- 4:27Speaker 5: I get the close up please, yeah, very important. Nineteen
- 4:31Speaker 5: sixty one. We'll talk about the significance.
- 4:34Speaker 9: Yes, you see that quality. How does that fabric feel? Man,
- 4:38Speaker 9: that's not the finest of fabrics. Come to this camera,
- 4:42Speaker 9: coming to my camera. Police, we talk about this right here.
- 4:47Speaker 9: Beautiful cal don't play yourself if you didn't get them,
- 4:51Speaker 9: don't call them. Listen, listen, don't call them. He is
- 4:56Speaker 9: our brothers and they are men of their word. They
- 4:59Speaker 9: told me we got to add to your collection. The
- 5:02Speaker 9: fours is incredible. I put the ones on the golf course. Yes,
- 5:06Speaker 9: and now we're back with the ones in nice sixty one. Yes,
- 5:08Speaker 9: this is it. This isn't just any leather though, that's
- 5:12Speaker 9: the overpriced lead right over budget.
- 5:14Speaker 4: This is the finest of leathers. Yo, this is an
- 5:18Speaker 4: incredible shoe. This is incredible shoe. Congrats on this man.
- 5:21Speaker 5: This is did you walk us through, walk us through
- 5:23Speaker 5: this shoe right here? Walk us through this whole entire
- 5:27Speaker 5: masterpiece situation. What are we looking at right now?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yeh yeah yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 8: So it's a Jordan Air Jordan one high golf shoe
- 5:35Speaker 8: has the extra trading under the bottom of the shoe,
- 5:38Speaker 8: just for extra trading when you're on the golf course.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Also east side golf.
- 5:41Speaker 8: Scripted all over the swoosh with the swingman on the
- 5:45Speaker 8: tongue of the shoe. But most significantly is the name
- 5:49Speaker 8: of the collect collection is the change period nineteen sixty
- 5:53Speaker 8: one collection nineteen sixty one was the year that the
- 5:57Speaker 8: PGA lifted their Caucasian only clause. So prior nobody in
- 6:02Speaker 8: this room could be a part of the PGA. But
- 6:04Speaker 8: moving forward, you know, it wasn't to badger the PGA
- 6:08Speaker 8: or make them look bad. It was more about we
- 6:10Speaker 8: know what we've been, so how can we be intentional
- 6:13Speaker 8: on where we're going moving forward? You know, so just
- 6:16Speaker 8: bringing light and towards history a golf you know, Lee Elder,
- 6:20Speaker 8: Charlie Sifford. I mean, all of these different guys that
- 6:24Speaker 8: had such a monumental presence in the game of golf,
- 6:26Speaker 8: of black golf at the time, what weren't giving a
- 6:29Speaker 8: fair chance? Now, this is about shedding light on their
- 6:32Speaker 8: careers and and honestly as black folk, as diverse people,
- 6:37Speaker 8: you know, showing that there's history to the game and
- 6:39Speaker 8: what and what and how far we can actually go
- 6:42Speaker 8: just because of.
- 6:43Speaker 3: The history, you know.
- 6:44Speaker 4: So I mean, no, man, it's yeah, I mean it
- 6:47Speaker 4: shows that y'all thankful, y'all is not only only active
- 6:50Speaker 4: in the game, but y'all stew it to the game,
- 6:52Speaker 4: and y'all opening up the world of golf to a
- 6:54Speaker 4: new demographic right, Like people saw the influx of people
- 6:58Speaker 4: that came into the sport in the late nineties with Tiger.
- 7:01Speaker 6: But now, I mean it's booming.
- 7:03Speaker 4: But y'all going from a historical standpoint and y'all doing
- 7:06Speaker 4: it through something that now everybody loves.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Just sneakers, man, So it's incredible.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Not to mention it's probably on one of the most
- 7:12Speaker 4: prestigious Jordans, the Jordan one, which we shouldn't like take
- 7:16Speaker 4: for light for granted very lightly. That's a trusted shoe
- 7:20Speaker 4: in that brand. So that means how important you guys
- 7:22Speaker 4: are Tanike and brand Jordan's.
- 7:24Speaker 9: So congrats, man, appreciate that relations are these out, These
- 7:27Speaker 9: are out. They we did a riffle system. You know,
- 7:30Speaker 9: that was the only fair way to do it because
- 7:32Speaker 9: you know it's still in the world of bots and
- 7:35Speaker 9: all that stuff. So you know they are out out
- 7:37Speaker 9: in the world, out and about. But you know there's
- 7:40Speaker 9: plenty of other product that's on our website. You know,
- 7:43Speaker 9: you got a lot of the gear, a lot.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Of the Listen, what Earl is trying to say is, look,
- 7:46Speaker 4: if you didn't get the sneakers, go buy a sweatshirt. Yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 4: like that, that's another way to support man y'all should
- 7:52Speaker 4: not even support y'all should want the mergers.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Fly like we can't front.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I told you when you walked in, Oh, I said, look,
- 7:58Speaker 4: most of the times we usually are wearing our merchandise,
- 8:01Speaker 4: but I feel privileged to have this one because it
- 8:03Speaker 4: means so much.
- 8:03Speaker 6: Man, So y'all should go out there thank you appreciation.
- 8:06Speaker 3: It's still assets of reliabilities.
- 8:09Speaker 6: This is an asset.
- 8:11Speaker 3: It's exactly good.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Sure, So all right, so let's get into it. So
- 8:15Speaker 5: all right, so last time that we met, right, a
- 8:18Speaker 5: lot has happened.
- 8:21Speaker 3: From that time. So let's talk about this since we
- 8:26Speaker 3: are looking at the shoes.
- 8:27Speaker 5: So you talked about nineteen sixty one being a year
- 8:30Speaker 5: that the PGA lifted its all white band, right, and
- 8:34Speaker 5: so this is your your newest.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Collaboration with Jordan Brand.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Right, How has that Jordan Brand partnership been for you
- 8:42Speaker 5: guys over the last two three years? And what is
- 8:47Speaker 5: the significance of the newest line outside of you know,
- 8:51Speaker 5: the nineteen sixty one But as far as like business
- 8:53Speaker 5: is concerned.
- 8:55Speaker 8: Yeah, partnership has been great. You know with Jordan Brand,
- 8:59Speaker 8: you know, we we definitely want to keep going, definitely
- 9:01Speaker 8: want to come up with some more shoes moving forward.
- 9:03Speaker 8: But it's been it's been great because they believed in
- 9:07Speaker 8: us enough to give us a chance to tell the history.
- 9:09Speaker 3: You know, not a lot of people get.
- 9:11Speaker 8: To tell actual facts and tell where we've been as
- 9:16Speaker 8: a people and then tell where we are trying to
- 9:18Speaker 8: go as a people. So I mean them actually doing
- 9:21Speaker 8: that and taking the time out and sitting I mean
- 9:24Speaker 8: we sat in that design room.
- 9:25Speaker 3: You know.
- 9:26Speaker 8: They said, well, what's the purpose of what you guys
- 9:28Speaker 8: are trying to do? And I told them, well, we
- 9:31Speaker 8: told them change the game. At the end of the day,
- 9:33Speaker 8: it's something. It's it's finally here where golf can be
- 9:38Speaker 8: taken advantage of and we can give the game to
- 9:40Speaker 8: you guys, you know what I'm saying, And you guys
- 9:42Speaker 8: can take advantage of it.
- 9:44Speaker 3: You know, definitely spread.
- 9:45Speaker 8: Your networks, you know, build your build your friendships and
- 9:50Speaker 8: relationships up on the golf course and spent five hours
- 9:53Speaker 8: with somebody.
- 9:54Speaker 3: But that's I mean, it's really powerful for diverse people
- 9:56Speaker 3: to use the game of golf.
- 9:57Speaker 8: So joint brand giving us this platform or actually just
- 10:01Speaker 8: collaboration to tell the story, it gives everybody else the
- 10:05Speaker 8: power to do so.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Much more so now it's been it's been great so far,
- 10:08Speaker 3: it's been great.
- 10:09Speaker 6: Over the past two years. The popularity of the brand
- 10:12Speaker 6: has expedited.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Like I said, I see you guys everywhere, but more importantly,
- 10:17Speaker 4: I see the brand everywhere, right and sometimes you watch
- 10:20Speaker 4: on social media and it doesn't have to do anything
- 10:22Speaker 4: with golf, but the brand is growing. Talk about what
- 10:25Speaker 4: that's done for you personally from a day to day
- 10:28Speaker 4: about the busyness and now more the responsibilities and some
- 10:31Speaker 4: of the lessons that you're learning as the brand grows.
- 10:35Speaker 9: Nah, I think for me, it's definitely been a transition, right,
- 10:39Speaker 9: Like you start to I'm sure y'all get it now
- 10:41Speaker 9: where too, It's like you go into Dwayne Reid and
- 10:44Speaker 9: come outside somebody's like, yo, east Side Golf and you know.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Oh man, it's a huge generation. Go get it, smoothie.
- 10:51Speaker 9: And so I mean within that that's been something different.
- 10:55Speaker 9: I think, you know, there's obviously a lot of sacrifices,
- 10:58Speaker 9: and I hear you both mention that as far. It's like,
- 11:00Speaker 9: you know, family functions and things that you want to
- 11:02Speaker 9: be a part of, but you know, it's a window,
- 11:04Speaker 9: it's an opportunity that we know, just working really hard
- 11:07Speaker 9: and then prioritizing because as you you know clearly articulated,
- 11:11Speaker 9: we're you know, we're everywhere right until we still have
- 11:14Speaker 9: a business to run, right And so you know a
- 11:16Speaker 9: lot of folks that we came in with are on
- 11:18Speaker 9: our team, and it's like they're looking for guidance or
- 11:21Speaker 9: they need answers or approve or.
- 11:23Speaker 3: All of those things.
- 11:24Speaker 9: So it's like, while we're up here blowing the brand
- 11:27Speaker 9: up and making sure we're in all the right rooms,
- 11:29Speaker 9: at the same time, there's still a business and day
- 11:32Speaker 9: to day operations that need to be ran.
- 11:34Speaker 3: So it's all about time management, picking your spots.
- 11:36Speaker 6: You know.
- 11:37Speaker 9: I think we've done a really good job. But I
- 11:39Speaker 9: would also say we do have an amazing team, you
- 11:41Speaker 9: know as well.
- 11:43Speaker 5: So all right, so can you talk about share some
- 11:46Speaker 5: insight about some of the investors behind east Side Golf
- 11:50Speaker 5: and how have.
- 11:51Speaker 3: They contributed to the brand's growth.
- 11:53Speaker 9: No, I think we have a very strong cap table,
- 11:58Speaker 9: you know, and they have been very helpful, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 9: in the growth of the brand, whether it be you know,
- 12:05Speaker 9: guidance and things of that nature. But you know, folks
- 12:08Speaker 9: like you know, Michael Strahan is an investor. He's been
- 12:12Speaker 9: very helpful and just you know in connections, you also
- 12:16Speaker 9: have you know, folks like CC Sabbathia who it was
- 12:20Speaker 9: just very organic, you know, so when it came time
- 12:23Speaker 9: to raise funds, it was like, all right, well, let's
- 12:25Speaker 9: go reach out to somebody that believes in the brand,
- 12:27Speaker 9: been rocking with the brand for a while.
- 12:29Speaker 3: And so you know, there's quite a few other folks.
- 12:32Speaker 9: We have, some more I would say, like institutional folks
- 12:35Speaker 9: like Alan Swlensky. He's a minority owner of the La Dodgers.
- 12:40Speaker 9: And Alan is like someone that's very active and like
- 12:43Speaker 9: always in our ear and challenging the way that we're
- 12:45Speaker 9: thinking and saying all right, okay, where are we at?
- 12:47Speaker 9: Are we close to the profitability? You know how ourselves
- 12:50Speaker 9: doing those sorts of things. And then lastly, but not least,
- 12:54Speaker 9: I would say, you know, Steve Stout has been probably
- 12:57Speaker 9: one of our most active investors.
- 13:00Speaker 3: You know, we got monthly calls with Steve.
- 13:01Speaker 9: We can call him bout anything, but he's really been
- 13:03Speaker 9: hands on and even like helping like personnel like okay cool,
- 13:07Speaker 9: and you know, working with translations and you know, brand
- 13:10Speaker 9: guidelines and just him understanding and seeing things blow up
- 13:14Speaker 9: and just kind of as we you know, navigating those waters.
- 13:18Speaker 4: You said a key word there when it was time
- 13:21Speaker 4: to raise funds. Yeah, and so I'm sure there's entrepreneurs
- 13:23Speaker 4: who have businesses. When did y'all realize it was time
- 13:26Speaker 4: for us to take in capital, not because you necessarily
- 13:29Speaker 4: needed it, but because you wanted to expand.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I mean, it's usual, it was.
- 13:35Speaker 8: It was when we saw that we could come out
- 13:37Speaker 8: with different going a different lane as far as collapse,
- 13:41Speaker 8: like we have an NBA licensing deal, MLB licensing deal,
- 13:44Speaker 8: and then coming out with the women's line in spring,
- 13:47Speaker 8: you know, and.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Even pushing towards accessories, like.
- 13:51Speaker 8: Really getting that all the way dialed in, because not
- 13:55Speaker 8: only do we have that, we have PGA PGA Tour
- 13:57Speaker 8: partnership as well. So when we go into these actual
- 14:03Speaker 8: merch tents at these PGA tournaments, we be able to
- 14:06Speaker 8: afford it.
- 14:06Speaker 3: We be able to afford the staff, We be able
- 14:08Speaker 3: to grow our.
- 14:09Speaker 8: Team and actually get all the things that we need,
- 14:11Speaker 8: so we're not like shorthanded when a time when the
- 14:14Speaker 8: time comes, I mean, because yeah, run it through money.
- 14:17Speaker 3: It can go fast. Yeah, it can go fast. I
- 14:19Speaker 3: would add to it's like you know, in the peril business,
- 14:22Speaker 3: you don't get paid.
- 14:24Speaker 9: It's like really delayed. Right, So you're make an investment. Now,
- 14:27Speaker 9: you got to make an investment in the people.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:29Speaker 9: So if you want to design something, you got to
- 14:31Speaker 9: hold production folks. Then it's a period of them actually
- 14:35Speaker 9: producing the garment and then you have to market the
- 14:37Speaker 9: garment and then it goes to market.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:39Speaker 9: So you need that capital to be working for you
- 14:43Speaker 9: because you're you're putting out a whole lot of money
- 14:45Speaker 9: before you see anything back. Now, granted, once you have
- 14:49Speaker 9: a product, right, you can kind of run it back
- 14:51Speaker 9: and it's a little bit more quick turn, but it's
- 14:53Speaker 9: still one of those things where you got to pay
- 14:54Speaker 9: for the product off and upfront and you're not necessarily
- 14:57Speaker 9: guaranteed that money coming back. So but like O said,
- 15:00Speaker 9: you know, raising capital, it kind of gives you an
- 15:03Speaker 9: opportunity to make the investment in the personnel, right, Like
- 15:07Speaker 9: you may have to go, I need to go hire
- 15:09Speaker 9: a really good production person, which we went out and
- 15:11Speaker 9: got right because we saw that that was a gap,
- 15:13Speaker 9: Like all right, he's got these amazing ideas, but it's
- 15:16Speaker 9: not it's not making its way to the closet, right,
- 15:18Speaker 9: and he's frustrated. So it's like, all right, let's work
- 15:22Speaker 9: through this and some people you know, again it wasn't
- 15:25Speaker 9: working out, so still keep trying. And now we have
- 15:28Speaker 9: someone like the product is something that we're excited about
- 15:32Speaker 9: and can stand by just the quality of it. And
- 15:34Speaker 9: so that was an investment that we had to make
- 15:37Speaker 9: on the front end, and we made that investment of
- 15:39Speaker 9: what like April, and we're now just now that product
- 15:43Speaker 9: is just now delivering and hitting shells.
- 15:45Speaker 3: How much? How much? So when did you raise?
- 15:47Speaker 9: So we raised, well, we just closed, we just closed
- 15:52Speaker 9: those around it's your first round. No, so we've done
- 15:55Speaker 9: safe in rounds, two safe rounds. What's a safe safe note?
- 15:58Speaker 9: So basically what a safe note allows you to do
- 16:02Speaker 9: is very uh uh friend is founder friendly essentially. So
- 16:07Speaker 9: with then raising on a safe round, you can project
- 16:10Speaker 9: your cap It's not where you are immediately right now, right,
- 16:14Speaker 9: so just for small numbers, you can say, hey, I'm
- 16:16Speaker 9: gonna raise and right now the company may be only
- 16:20Speaker 9: value that one hundred thousand, but you can raise at
- 16:22Speaker 9: a million. Now, you still need to hit those numbers
- 16:25Speaker 9: right when that because when that because when that safe
- 16:28Speaker 9: converts into a note then you know, it needs that
- 16:31Speaker 9: you need to be at what you said.
- 16:32Speaker 3: You were going to be at.
- 16:33Speaker 9: But it's more kind of futuristic and it's very you know, friendly,
- 16:37Speaker 9: founder friendly, and I think it came out Actually, why combinator.
- 16:41Speaker 3: How much did you guys raise? We raised a few.
- 16:49Speaker 3: We haven't that yet.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Well, I was so I was like, all right, what
- 16:57Speaker 5: was your did you need to raise money or was yes,
- 17:00Speaker 5: you needed to raise yeah.
- 17:02Speaker 8: And on top of raising the money, I mean we
- 17:05Speaker 8: made mistakes, you know what I'm saying, raising money no,
- 17:08Speaker 8: well no, I wouldn't say raising out having money, yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 8: well without having money, but really mistakes within making garments,
- 17:16Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Some of the things didn't come out right. We never
- 17:19Speaker 3: came out with those people like the quality.
- 17:21Speaker 8: Yeah, the quality or the lettering or the embroidery, I mean,
- 17:26Speaker 8: something being wrong.
- 17:27Speaker 3: We have to be able to cover that.
- 17:29Speaker 8: But on the back end, that's where we go get
- 17:32Speaker 8: somebody that we feel comfortable with that can actually do
- 17:34Speaker 8: the job, you know what I'm saying. So a lot
- 17:37Speaker 8: of times, you know, people make mistakes that just innate.
- 17:40Speaker 8: That's the nature of the beast, you know, but if
- 17:43Speaker 8: you have people that believe in you, I mean speaking
- 17:45Speaker 8: on even investors, I mean they introduced us to even
- 17:48Speaker 8: more investors that believe in us. They tell the story,
- 17:51Speaker 8: but then they even say, yeah, these guys that made
- 17:53Speaker 8: you know, a couple of little twines there, they could
- 17:56Speaker 8: have did this and did that, but this is what
- 17:58Speaker 8: they're doing ultimately, and this is where they're going. So
- 18:01Speaker 8: I mean, even though the mistakes have happened, that's why
- 18:03Speaker 8: we do raise because we see where it can go
- 18:06Speaker 8: in the investor see where.
- 18:08Speaker 9: Yeah, because it's like it's just all right, even if
- 18:10Speaker 9: we're making money, in order to grow, you gotta like
- 18:13Speaker 9: go It's like a building, right, So it's like, all right,
- 18:15Speaker 9: I may have been making money off five apartments, but
- 18:19Speaker 9: in order to go get another apartment building because this
- 18:22Speaker 9: is working, I got to go get capital to go
- 18:23Speaker 9: acquire that, you know what I mean. So it's the
- 18:25Speaker 9: same sort of thing where it's just like we want
- 18:27Speaker 9: to grow, so it's like, all right, we need to
- 18:29Speaker 9: get larger numbers.
- 18:30Speaker 3: So like even now the risk is just higher.
- 18:32Speaker 9: So like now when to that point our orders are larger,
- 18:37Speaker 9: so we have to have the cash flow to send
- 18:40Speaker 9: someone to China where it's being.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Produced with the factory midway, right, So we.
- 18:45Speaker 9: Went from getting five hundred T shirts to five thousand
- 18:47Speaker 9: T shirts, right, So now we can't afford to just
- 18:52Speaker 9: take a hit on five thousand T shirt mad Way,
- 18:56Speaker 9: you got to go out there and see it, like, Okay,
- 18:59Speaker 9: how is it coming?
- 19:00Speaker 3: What's you know? What's the process you see it?
- 19:02Speaker 9: You know what I mean, midway, because if you QC
- 19:04Speaker 9: when it's you know, when it hits your house, your
- 19:06Speaker 9: warehouse is too late because it takes that window of
- 19:09Speaker 9: time for it to get done. So those are kind
- 19:11Speaker 9: of like that, I would say, the little things that
- 19:14Speaker 9: we're learning that have to be in place as you're
- 19:17Speaker 9: building you know this this, this this brand.
- 19:20Speaker 6: When you have the safe notes, is there a duration
- 19:22Speaker 6: of time that you have to have it in?
- 19:24Speaker 4: So if I'm trying to if I'm making one hundred
- 19:26Speaker 4: thousand and I say I can get to a million,
- 19:29Speaker 4: do I have to do it within a certain time frame?
- 19:31Speaker 6: Two year, three years?
- 19:32Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 19:32Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it's like mutually agreed upon between you
- 19:35Speaker 9: and the investor. But yeah, yeah, some mutually agreed upon
- 19:38Speaker 9: note that you would do when you mature. But I
- 19:40Speaker 9: mean we're we plan on doing the series A for sure.
- 19:44Speaker 9: I would say probably in the next twelve, the eight
- 19:47Speaker 9: fourteen months something like that, you know, because then again
- 19:51Speaker 9: it's just about growth, right like he said, Like you
- 19:53Speaker 9: want to go do a women's line, you got to
- 19:56Speaker 9: go invest in a whole new host of people, new
- 19:59Speaker 9: space the office, more space in the warehouse, new things
- 20:03Speaker 9: on a website, apps, like all different type of things
- 20:06Speaker 9: that go into that demograph, and there's so much more
- 20:09Speaker 9: we want to do, you know, just as a brand,
- 20:12Speaker 9: you know, because it's a brand. It's not just a
- 20:15Speaker 9: singular sweater or T shirt. It's a brand. So as
- 20:18Speaker 9: we want to do all of these things, it definitely
- 20:20Speaker 9: takes investment.
- 20:22Speaker 5: So you like, one of the things about getting investment
- 20:26Speaker 5: is that the money actually helps obviously, but relationships and
- 20:29Speaker 5: insight for investors that's not owners in the company. So
- 20:31Speaker 5: it's like like you said, Steve Style, you do monthly
- 20:33Speaker 5: calls with him, So we're you strategic and picking the
- 20:37Speaker 5: people that were investors for people that you thought could
- 20:40Speaker 5: add insight and help outside of just providing money.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:43Speaker 8: Absolutely, I mean even even some of our partnerships have
- 20:48Speaker 8: come from investors, you know, like major partners. I mean
- 20:52Speaker 8: even talking with like Cia, I mean that came from
- 20:55Speaker 8: an investor. You know, they bring so many different elements
- 20:59Speaker 8: to the business. It's because of their their backgrounds, their
- 21:03Speaker 8: history and just investing in general. I mean, they have
- 21:08Speaker 8: so much experience that they can see sometime they want
- 21:11Speaker 8: to introduce us to certain companies that have never been
- 21:15Speaker 8: in the golf and that might want to be in
- 21:17Speaker 8: the golf, but they're willing to spend that money now,
- 21:19Speaker 8: you know, like if they really want to make that
- 21:22Speaker 8: big push because golf is hot right now and that's
- 21:24Speaker 8: the lane that they want to run, then all of
- 21:26Speaker 8: a sudden, they made the introduction and they let us
- 21:28Speaker 8: run with the business or let us run with the partnership,
- 21:31Speaker 8: and then we see where it can go from there.
- 21:32Speaker 8: But that all comes from investors. I mean, even where
- 21:36Speaker 8: we're spending our money. You know, we might have a
- 21:39Speaker 8: monthly call with with our accountant, but then also one
- 21:42Speaker 8: of them investors might be on there and asks, yo, well,
- 21:44Speaker 8: whyon't you have you ever thought about spending your money
- 21:47Speaker 8: here or pushing it here? And you know, I mean
- 21:50Speaker 8: it's all different ways of thinking about it. But you
- 21:53Speaker 8: know more, you know, more than two DS is better.
- 21:55Speaker 9: Than you know, and a lot of them have gone
- 21:58Speaker 9: where we want to go, right, and so was like
- 22:00Speaker 9: they understand that, and a lot of it is I
- 22:02Speaker 9: would say culture, like these folks understanding because I would
- 22:06Speaker 9: say the golf world are kind of like late adopters
- 22:09Speaker 9: to eat east Side, Like we came in the game
- 22:11Speaker 9: with Chris Paul right, Like, we didn't come in the
- 22:13Speaker 9: game with you know, quote unquote, you know, a professional golfer,
- 22:17Speaker 9: and so we continue to be authenticated by non quote
- 22:21Speaker 9: unquote golfers. But that's the beauty. So they see it early.
- 22:24Speaker 9: They're like, oh, no, I know exactly what this is.
- 22:27Speaker 9: I know exactly what you guys are doing, similar to
- 22:29Speaker 9: what you guys are doing right, Like, it may not
- 22:31Speaker 9: be a major media network that would get behind you,
- 22:34Speaker 9: it might be someone in the culture like, oh, I've
- 22:37Speaker 9: seen this before, you know what I mean in the
- 22:39Speaker 9: traditional media. They're like, I don't understand. I don't get it,
- 22:42Speaker 9: But then now they do clearly if you go to
- 22:44Speaker 9: invest Fest.
- 22:47Speaker 6: Yeah that thing, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:50Speaker 4: I want to talk about the brand partnerships and how
- 22:53Speaker 4: strategic you are about them opportuity. We know that the
- 22:56Speaker 4: Nike and brand Jordan partnership. You talk about the NBA,
- 22:59Speaker 4: let's talk about because this this is something that was
- 23:02Speaker 4: kind of new. We actually had a phone calls.
- 23:04Speaker 3: It was yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 23:07Speaker 6: I was like, Yo, I got this opportunity for you
- 23:09Speaker 6: guys with this other company. And he's like, yo, oh
- 23:12Speaker 6: listen to what choice, saying I gonna believe it. So
- 23:15Speaker 6: talk about how that came to.
- 23:16Speaker 9: Be, NA, So, I mean we both you know, a
- 23:20Speaker 9: good friend of ours reached out and was like, oh,
- 23:22Speaker 9: you know who y'all with, Like, what's your automobile partner?
- 23:25Speaker 9: It was an all star out in Utah and he's like, hey,
- 23:29Speaker 9: you know, he had some ties into Mercedes. His wife
- 23:31Speaker 9: actually is the first or the only female African American
- 23:36Speaker 9: woman that owns a Mercedes Benz dealership. And he actually
- 23:39Speaker 9: went to Morehouse as well. He's a dentist doctor Tony
- 23:41Speaker 9: Hall and his wife is Janelle Ross and reached out
- 23:45Speaker 9: was like, hey, I don't know who y'all with. Y'all
- 23:48Speaker 9: should be with Mercedes. Just kind of hold off and
- 23:51Speaker 9: we was talking to a whole nother brand at that time,
- 23:54Speaker 9: and then things started to develop and then as it
- 23:57Speaker 9: went on, Oh got a relationship.
- 23:59Speaker 8: With Yeah, well, went down to waste Management, got introduced
- 24:03Speaker 8: to Erica Bolden, you know Monique as well Nick Harrison,
- 24:07Speaker 8: and I mean all of those relationships actually, well the
- 24:12Speaker 8: Masters came around, of course, of the Masters Augustin National
- 24:16Speaker 8: and the Mayor of Atlanta, Andre Dickens, went down to
- 24:19Speaker 8: Augustin National and walked had a meeting with Mercedes Benz.
- 24:24Speaker 8: Now me and him have a great relationship, and he
- 24:26Speaker 8: went into the meeting with all Eastside on. He walks
- 24:29Speaker 8: in and they both sit and they're just like, yo,
- 24:33Speaker 8: what do you know about east Side? And he got
- 24:35Speaker 8: really hyped and said had nothing but positive things to
- 24:37Speaker 8: say about me and Earl and the business.
- 24:40Speaker 3: And then from there they were just like.
- 24:41Speaker 8: Yo, we've heard about east Side probably seen it maybe
- 24:45Speaker 8: five six seven times in the past two weeks, just
- 24:48Speaker 8: like it has to be something that's going on. We
- 24:51Speaker 8: got we got to meet these guys, and then from
- 24:53Speaker 8: there we had one meeting with them, well, a couple
- 24:55Speaker 8: of meet well, a few meetings with them, and from there,
- 24:59Speaker 8: you know it only he felt right to do a
- 25:01Speaker 8: deal with Mercedes Bands. And here we are, I mean,
- 25:04Speaker 8: they're they're full fledged and you know anything and everything
- 25:07Speaker 8: that we believe in, they believe in.
- 25:11Speaker 5: You know, like what does a deal on Mercedes Lord,
- 25:12Speaker 5: they give you guys cars, you have to promote them
- 25:14Speaker 5: on social media?
- 25:15Speaker 3: Like what does that have to do? Yeah, yeah, they
- 25:17Speaker 3: give us. Yeah, they definitely give us cars. That was
- 25:20Speaker 3: very very humble of you. They give us cars. But it's, uh,
- 25:26Speaker 3: it's crazy because they're helping us.
- 25:29Speaker 8: We just donated fifty thousand to the Morals golf team
- 25:32Speaker 8: and they're going to be donating another fifty thousand on our.
- 25:35Speaker 9: Behalves so on, and so it's it's like a three
- 25:38Speaker 9: it's a three part you know deal. So we got
- 25:41Speaker 9: like a B to B, which is you know, business
- 25:44Speaker 9: to business, and so from the B to B, they're
- 25:46Speaker 9: supporting a lot of our initiatives and we're going to
- 25:48Speaker 9: be doing a lot of community stuff together and obviously
- 25:51Speaker 9: giving back to more houses. You know, that's close to us,
- 25:54Speaker 9: but it's going to continue. Right There's a lot of
- 25:56Speaker 9: different elements that we have. There's a sprinted vehicle that's
- 25:59Speaker 9: donated to the golf team, and there's a lot to
- 26:02Speaker 9: come out in twenty twenty four, Like he said, there's
- 26:03Speaker 9: really behind us. We will you know, we come on
- 26:06Speaker 9: as official ambassadors as well, which is amazing, you know
- 26:10Speaker 9: what I mean. That's something I don't think either one
- 26:12Speaker 9: of us ever thought when Get Gratarted we would be.
- 26:14Speaker 9: And then we got collaborative clothing that will be coming out,
- 26:17Speaker 9: you know, so we can use the Star. So it's
- 26:20Speaker 9: a very comprehensive partnership that we're super excited about, you know,
- 26:24Speaker 9: to be working with them, and they really have leaned in.
- 26:27Speaker 9: And I think the biggest thing that we Him and
- 26:29Speaker 9: I learned, like you said, you know, our first car
- 26:32Speaker 9: partnership was through an agency, right, and it really wasn't
- 26:37Speaker 9: what we thought it was gonna be.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Right. It was just like a media buy.
- 26:40Speaker 9: And there's nothing wrong with that, right, but we had
- 26:43Speaker 9: to learn because we were frustrated because you you're thinking, oh,
- 26:45Speaker 9: it's with X brand that now that means you.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Got this and you got that.
- 26:48Speaker 9: It's almost like somebody, honestly, you know, signing with Jordan
- 26:52Speaker 9: that you think you're gonna get every pair of Jordan's
- 26:53Speaker 9: and it doesn't or just because you did a collab
- 26:55Speaker 9: that you're gonna get every pair of Jordan and it
- 26:57Speaker 9: doesn't work that way. So we had to kind of learn,
- 26:59Speaker 9: and I think that's why we were able to bring
- 27:02Speaker 9: that to the table and really take our time with
- 27:04Speaker 9: this partnership. But I definitely do credit the folks over
- 27:07Speaker 9: at Mercedes Benz because oh and I we went in there,
- 27:10Speaker 9: we met with them, and it was probably the one
- 27:12Speaker 9: of the few times that we were actually like stumped.
- 27:14Speaker 9: Like they were like, yo, put money aside, put golf aside,
- 27:18Speaker 9: what can we do with the community, and what is
- 27:20Speaker 9: the only thing that y'all can do with us?
- 27:22Speaker 8: We didn't not know how to answer that question. At
- 27:25Speaker 8: thet We're like, get looking back to you. From there,
- 27:28Speaker 8: it was, I mean, we just we just kept it
- 27:30Speaker 8: going from there. I mean, they believe in a lot
- 27:33Speaker 8: of the initiatives that we have and I mean from
- 27:36Speaker 8: now on, you know, well for the next few years,
- 27:39Speaker 8: for the next years, hopefully for albums, the.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Now lifetime deal right right it is I'm calling it
- 27:47Speaker 3: in now good. But you know, we definitely got the
- 27:49Speaker 3: webs on the way.
- 27:50Speaker 9: Yeah webs is that they you know, And like I think,
- 27:53Speaker 9: you know, y'all saw that we had the what we
- 27:55Speaker 9: had the golf ball joint Yeah, for investments West coast
- 28:00Speaker 9: and then on the West coast we gotta we had
- 28:02Speaker 9: the script joint g waggon that up at age sixteen.
- 28:06Speaker 9: This is true, you know, I mean it's only right.
- 28:09Speaker 9: They say, Look, we're gonna be stepping out of a car.
- 28:12Speaker 3: We're gonna have that star on.
- 28:13Speaker 6: Why not have Why not have Mercedes?
- 28:15Speaker 10: I mean, by the way, you have a Mercedes too,
- 28:17Speaker 10: that's not let's not let that just go under the Yeah, hey,
- 28:22Speaker 10: well we still appreciate that you wanted the family that
- 28:26Speaker 10: Lyes would.
- 28:28Speaker 4: They're gonna be watching now though, who were worthy of
- 28:32Speaker 4: the conversation Mercedes.
- 28:38Speaker 3: We go three, by the way.
- 28:40Speaker 4: So disruption is what I hear, right, even inside of
- 28:44Speaker 4: infrastructure like Mercedes, this is something that they've never done.
- 28:47Speaker 4: What you guys are doing inside of golf is disruptive
- 28:49Speaker 4: of nineteen sixty one, that's disruptive. I wonder from a
- 28:53Speaker 4: PG standpoint, what you guys. Have you guys spoken to
- 28:57Speaker 4: Live Golf because that's disruption aside world. Have you been
- 29:01Speaker 4: approached by them and maybe some of their golfers to
- 29:04Speaker 4: incorporate east Side into not only PJ, but now having
- 29:08Speaker 4: you know where golf is played, I.
- 29:09Speaker 8: Mean, this is this is a part of the world now,
- 29:11Speaker 8: I mean we've we've definitely been approached by some players
- 29:14Speaker 8: on the Live Golf tour, as far as the Prince
- 29:18Speaker 8: of Saudi, he knows who east Side Golf.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Is really Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 8: But as far as you know, as far as us
- 29:28Speaker 8: pushing and just trying to figure out where the brand
- 29:30Speaker 8: is going, we're still I mean, we're still kind of new,
- 29:32Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying.
- 29:33Speaker 3: So we're just still trying to find.
- 29:35Speaker 8: Our ground where we're going and uh and truly who's
- 29:38Speaker 8: going to be good partners for us?
- 29:40Speaker 10: You know?
- 29:40Speaker 3: So I mean it's just a work in progress.
- 29:42Speaker 9: And then yeah, and I mean to that, like, I
- 29:45Speaker 9: think one of the things our principle that we try
- 29:47Speaker 9: to buy by now because of the stage of the brand,
- 29:50Speaker 9: and I'm sure you guys can relate, is like we
- 29:53Speaker 9: want long term, comprehensive partnerships. We don't want to want
- 29:58Speaker 9: like some ninety day things because it's like we have
- 30:00Speaker 9: a community, we have a following, So what does it
- 30:02Speaker 9: look like, you know, us in this card in that
- 30:06Speaker 9: card or what this brand that brand understaid that had
- 30:09Speaker 9: to be whatever. So we've been very intentional when it
- 30:11Speaker 9: comes to that, and we've talked to everybody, like in
- 30:14Speaker 9: the golf space, like we're definitely open and having conversations,
- 30:17Speaker 9: but as time goes on, it's a little bit harder
- 30:21Speaker 9: to get these deals done because we understand the value
- 30:24Speaker 9: that we bring to the table. We also understand the
- 30:27Speaker 9: value that they're going to get when we you know
- 30:29Speaker 9: what I mean, when we do this. So it just
- 30:31Speaker 9: has to be right for us. It has to remain authentic,
- 30:34Speaker 9: you know what I mean. The last thing we can
- 30:36Speaker 9: do is like, oh, they sold out or whatever it
- 30:38Speaker 9: may be, and not necessarily worried about the term selling out,
- 30:41Speaker 9: but it's just like we don't want to sell ourselves
- 30:43Speaker 9: short either.
- 30:44Speaker 5: So you talked about live Where does that stand with
- 30:50Speaker 5: the pg they was supposed to merge and it got
- 30:53Speaker 5: put on a whole well like Congress was mean about it.
- 30:56Speaker 9: Yeah, Well, because the PGA Tour is a nonprofit right,
- 31:00Speaker 9: so they have this special tax exemption. And so with
- 31:03Speaker 9: that special tax exemption, in order for this type of
- 31:06Speaker 9: merger to happen, they remain tax exempt. They have to
- 31:10Speaker 9: it has to be approved by Congress, and so there's
- 31:14Speaker 9: a lot of different things that go into that right.
- 31:17Speaker 9: Because now you've got governments involved, you have to saw
- 31:19Speaker 9: these involved and so it was and then the way
- 31:22Speaker 9: that it all kind of played out too, you know,
- 31:24Speaker 9: end up and it was a lot of don't go
- 31:27Speaker 9: over there, and now they're going to get together and then.
- 31:29Speaker 3: So a lot of you know, it was public.
- 31:31Speaker 9: A lot of the players felt like, yo, they you know,
- 31:33Speaker 9: people were lying, they weren't honest about it. So right
- 31:36Speaker 9: now they have a memo like a turm sheet on
- 31:39Speaker 9: the merger, but it hasn't officially been signed. But to
- 31:41Speaker 9: your point, because it has to be approved by the
- 31:45Speaker 9: you know, Congress, by the US government for this merger
- 31:48Speaker 9: to happen if they want to remain and have their
- 31:53Speaker 9: tax exempt status. So and that's a big you know,
- 31:56Speaker 9: that's why they get a lot of those corporations that
- 31:58Speaker 9: get behind these events and sponsored because you're giving to
- 32:02Speaker 9: you know, you can write it off. So all those
- 32:04Speaker 9: title sponsors for PGA tours, they write that you write
- 32:07Speaker 9: that stuff off.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Hawa are they taxes in? I don't know the history
- 32:11Speaker 3: on why they are.
- 32:12Speaker 9: I mean it's like, you know, it's kind of like
- 32:14Speaker 9: how a lot of these different sports leagues they have
- 32:17Speaker 9: these different type of exemptions, whether it be you know,
- 32:20Speaker 9: the NFL I don't know the details of the NBA,
- 32:22Speaker 9: but I'm sure there could be something where, like, you know,
- 32:25Speaker 9: these leagues fall under these exemptions. They have strong lobbyists,
- 32:29Speaker 9: you know, and they support certain things and it allows
- 32:31Speaker 9: them to kind of remain because I think the economic
- 32:34Speaker 9: impact that it has, you know, overall.
- 32:38Speaker 6: Information there. So I wonder is there's more disruption to come.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Are there brands specifically that you see on the landscape
- 32:45Speaker 4: that you guys like, you know what that would make
- 32:47Speaker 4: sense for us.
- 32:48Speaker 6: To work with or collab with.
- 32:50Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, there definitely are other brands that we
- 32:55Speaker 8: do want to work with, you know, I would say
- 32:58Speaker 8: usually they're going to be.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Outside, out of the golf space, you know, because that's
- 33:02Speaker 3: our focus.
- 33:03Speaker 8: Is the only way to build this game golf is
- 33:06Speaker 8: to go as far away from it as possible and
- 33:08Speaker 8: then bring those people back to the game and show
- 33:11Speaker 8: them what they're missing, you know, sell them something that's fashionable,
- 33:14Speaker 8: that's that's culture oriented, you know, something that they can
- 33:18Speaker 8: get behind. That's the only way you can truly grow
- 33:20Speaker 8: this game. So I mean we want to, you know,
- 33:23Speaker 8: we want to collab with so many brands that they
- 33:26Speaker 8: just have a different way of thinking. Or that's just
- 33:28Speaker 8: been in a game for a long time that want
- 33:30Speaker 8: to get in the golf but just what you know
- 33:33Speaker 8: that coach would never expect, you know, really putting a
- 33:35Speaker 8: twist on a game and really expanding it to a
- 33:39Speaker 8: space where it just looks different.
- 33:41Speaker 3: At the end of the day, I.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Feel like there's similarities and kind of and it's the
- 33:45Speaker 4: reason why we show up in the same room, right.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Why are the golf guys at fashion a week in Paris?
- 33:50Speaker 4: Why the golf guys sit in courtside.
- 33:53Speaker 6: At the NBA game exactly?
- 33:56Speaker 3: Yeah, right, But.
- 34:01Speaker 4: That's the intentionality or we want to show up because
- 34:03Speaker 4: we want to be as widespread as possible when it
- 34:06Speaker 4: comes to the demographic.
- 34:07Speaker 6: We're trying to attract.
- 34:08Speaker 9: Exactly exactly and continue to take that conversation same thing
- 34:11Speaker 9: you guys are doing, you know, with financial literacy right
- 34:13Speaker 9: where it's like the information that you guys are giving,
- 34:16Speaker 9: we want to be able to do that. And I
- 34:18Speaker 9: think it's just so many different perspectives that we're basically
- 34:22Speaker 9: fighting against, right, Like we literally have this uphill battle
- 34:25Speaker 9: of these perceptions that everybody has a golf and so
- 34:28Speaker 9: when they see us, it kind of it's like, oh,
- 34:32Speaker 9: I'd never seen it like that, And then when you
- 34:33Speaker 9: consistently see.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Us, you're like, oh wow, Like no, that really is
- 34:37Speaker 3: a thing. It's not just a fad.
- 34:39Speaker 9: They weren't just doing this to start, you know, to
- 34:41Speaker 9: be cool because of the trend. It's like, nah, they
- 34:43Speaker 9: really are doing this. But as you saw at the
- 34:46Speaker 9: A sixteen event, he can really play golf.
- 34:48Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 34:49Speaker 9: It's not like the bro Yeah, exactly teaching you know
- 34:54Speaker 9: what I mean. You was out there doing your thing. Man,
- 34:57Speaker 9: that was only one on camera, so.
- 34:59Speaker 3: That's only I could go off.
- 35:01Speaker 6: Yes the record, it's on the record.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Let the record reflect.
- 35:07Speaker 5: So you guys, all right, so you have the collaboration
- 35:09Speaker 5: with Jordan, but the merch is still independent, right, yes,
- 35:12Speaker 5: So has there been talk of Nike collaborating with merch.
- 35:16Speaker 3: With you guys?
- 35:16Speaker 8: Well, so, our last collaboration with shoes, the Red Clay collection,
- 35:20Speaker 8: we did do a collaboration with Jordan Brand on apparel.
- 35:24Speaker 3: You know, but moving forward, even with these shoes, we
- 35:27Speaker 3: came out with.
- 35:27Speaker 8: Our own collection like this varsity jacket, like these sweatpants
- 35:32Speaker 8: and just put the word change on it, you know.
- 35:34Speaker 3: So it's something that can be bought straight from us.
- 35:37Speaker 3: That goes with the shoes.
- 35:38Speaker 8: Perfectly, but it's still it's independent. It's independent from Nike
- 35:42Speaker 8: and Jordan Brand.
- 35:43Speaker 3: What's the percentage of like the business as far as
- 35:46Speaker 3: like the sneakers versus apparel. I mean, our core is apparel.
- 35:51Speaker 9: We're in apparel company, right, So obviously the sneakers help,
- 35:55Speaker 9: you know what I mean, But the quantities aren't that large, right.
- 35:58Speaker 9: That's why they're also like covet it because there's not
- 36:02Speaker 9: you know, millions of shoes being produced, because it's it
- 36:05Speaker 9: still falls in like the golf realm and it's still
- 36:08Speaker 9: you know, and in the world of Nike, golf is
- 36:10Speaker 9: still you know, a very small line item, right, and
- 36:13Speaker 9: so it's not it's not overwhelming. I mean, we still
- 36:16Speaker 9: are apparel that so the sneakers are more so like.
- 36:21Speaker 5: Just to really create that buzz, yeah, energy and perils
- 36:25Speaker 5: driving yes, yeah yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 8: And you know I mean when we come up with sneakers,
- 36:29Speaker 8: being prepared for that moment, yes, you know, being strategic
- 36:31Speaker 8: about that, like lining up interviews and even having this
- 36:36Speaker 8: apparel to where we have like our holiday collection and
- 36:39Speaker 8: anything else that we really want to get out there.
- 36:41Speaker 3: I mean, this is a hot time to talk about it.
- 36:44Speaker 8: This is a hot time to get in front of
- 36:45Speaker 8: just the right people so we can expand the brand
- 36:48Speaker 8: and and really skyrocket into you never know, another demographic
- 36:52Speaker 8: of some sort.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:53Speaker 9: And then I think it's learning too, right, Like we've
- 36:55Speaker 9: had the privilege to work with amazing brands, right, you
- 37:00Speaker 9: have a docu series on Hulu, you know, and working
- 37:02Speaker 9: with them.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Rats on that, Thank you, thank you, go check it out.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Grails still streaming.
- 37:08Speaker 9: We've worked with Jordan Brand, Mercedes, and like that's one
- 37:11Speaker 9: of the things that we've learned. Like we take nuggets
- 37:14Speaker 9: and being in these rooms, right, Like we're not just
- 37:16Speaker 9: in the room, like all right, this is what we
- 37:17Speaker 9: want to do. We're watching how they treat their brand,
- 37:21Speaker 9: how protective they are of their brand, and why they
- 37:24Speaker 9: chose to do it with us.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Why what specifically do they want to do with us,
- 37:28Speaker 3: Because that's the power, right.
- 37:29Speaker 9: And so I think as we're transitioning, like he said,
- 37:32Speaker 9: we're an apparel brand. We're very protective of our product
- 37:35Speaker 9: and we're very proud of it. So if you see
- 37:38Speaker 9: us partner with anybody with apparel, it's got to be right.
- 37:42Speaker 9: It can't just be you know, something that we're just
- 37:45Speaker 9: doing just because and that's why they work with us.
- 37:47Speaker 9: But I think again we're very protective of the apparel.
- 37:51Speaker 6: Definitely go check out Grails for that.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Yes, appreciate y'all pulling up.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I ended up in the elevator with Hannah Storm
- 37:58Speaker 4: descrab my huge tho today watching her and she's in
- 38:03Speaker 4: the elevator talking about how important you guys.
- 38:04Speaker 9: Are producers shout out her packs produced it. And then
- 38:09Speaker 9: Steve Bartles, Yeah to EPs on that.
- 38:12Speaker 4: We went to the c LF, shout out to them,
- 38:16Speaker 4: you are the pro. And when we first met you,
- 38:19Speaker 4: being a pro was still something that you were actively pursuing.
- 38:22Speaker 6: Talk about the.
- 38:25Speaker 4: The status of that, and I know you guys were
- 38:27Speaker 4: starting to sign athletes as well, so talk about how
- 38:29Speaker 4: that has been going.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm still going after you know, I plan
- 38:34Speaker 3: on turning back pro next year.
- 38:36Speaker 10: Uh.
- 38:37Speaker 8: We will have a pro tournament next year to where
- 38:40Speaker 8: I'll be playing in it. And then also you know,
- 38:43Speaker 8: we're sponsoring the actual purse as well, so I have
- 38:47Speaker 8: a chance to win the money that I.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Put in it.
- 38:51Speaker 6: Really beat the pro.
- 38:54Speaker 3: All'all got to beat me.
- 38:56Speaker 8: So I mean, but It's definitely still a dream of mid.
- 39:00Speaker 8: I mean, that's why we're here.
- 39:01Speaker 3: You know.
- 39:02Speaker 8: At the end of the day, I wanted to pursue
- 39:04Speaker 8: my my dreams become a professional golfer, and that's where
- 39:07Speaker 8: the company was originated, you know. So now being able
- 39:10Speaker 8: to afford that, we just got to build the team more.
- 39:13Speaker 8: I mean, the design team has to grow. The day
- 39:16Speaker 8: to day team has to grow, so then I can
- 39:18Speaker 8: a loot that time to actually go out there and
- 39:20Speaker 8: practice and then have that time to go to tournaments
- 39:23Speaker 8: and I mean some of these tournaments two three, four days.
- 39:26Speaker 8: I mean I even have an opportunity to go to
- 39:28Speaker 8: Japan play on a Japan Tour, uh well, Japan Q
- 39:32Speaker 8: School Pro Tour, and that's about four months, you know.
- 39:36Speaker 3: But how can I do that? If the company is
- 39:38Speaker 3: and we need you where it needs.
- 39:42Speaker 6: I'll be going yeah.
- 39:45Speaker 8: But I mean I'm definitely just giving myself that chance.
- 39:49Speaker 8: That's That's where I'm at. But now, I mean I
- 39:52Speaker 8: see how important that is. But giving that chance to
- 39:54Speaker 8: somebody else, that's why we did UH sign three athletes.
- 39:59Speaker 8: Actually to of them, Michael Horrera, He's a professional golfers
- 40:03Speaker 8: doing very well this year. Wyat Worthington, another professional golfer.
- 40:07Speaker 8: Both of them have played on PGA Tour events and
- 40:09Speaker 8: also nil deal with a young kid. Matthew Vattel goes
- 40:14Speaker 8: to Temple University. So I mean, all of these guys
- 40:17Speaker 8: have great game.
- 40:18Speaker 3: He just won the Pennsylvania Amateur. Yeah as well, Matthew Vattel.
- 40:21Speaker 8: So I mean we got we got quality players, we
- 40:25Speaker 8: got quality product. But I mean, all in all, I
- 40:29Speaker 8: mean we're just about pushing the game forward for professionals.
- 40:32Speaker 8: But then on top of that, it coming from us,
- 40:35Speaker 8: it's just a different perspective like they would have never
- 40:37Speaker 8: thought we've had sound golfers.
- 40:39Speaker 6: So yeah, just had your first invitational.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Yeah, no, that was crazy. It was amazing.
- 40:44Speaker 6: That was one thing that was missing that was, be
- 40:45Speaker 6: honest with you, I believe it.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Yes, it was. Man, we thought you was gonna be
- 40:51Speaker 3: Abu Dhabi, but you.
- 40:53Speaker 6: Know that's also gonna happen.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Yeah, h no, we definitely, no, I was.
- 41:00Speaker 6: It was.
- 41:00Speaker 3: It was great. Y'all invited dates coming soon, It's gonna
- 41:04Speaker 3: be close. I'll just say it like that. But no,
- 41:07Speaker 3: this year was incredible.
- 41:09Speaker 9: One of the things that you know, when we first
- 41:11Speaker 9: started the brand, it was always that question of like
- 41:13Speaker 9: when y'all gonna do a golf tournament, When y'all gonna
- 41:15Speaker 9: do a golf tournament, because that's like the low hanging fruit,
- 41:18Speaker 9: and we never really been those guys.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Dude.
- 41:20Speaker 9: I can remember all the time, even in the beginning,
- 41:22Speaker 9: when it was just like me and oh, I will
- 41:23Speaker 9: show him something to be like, bro, that's easy, like
- 41:25Speaker 9: everybody doing that.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Let's let's figure it out. That ain't it. Let's let's
- 41:30Speaker 3: go somewhere else.
- 41:31Speaker 9: And so it was a perfect timing and you know,
- 41:34Speaker 9: again shout out to Mercedes being our presenting sponsor, to
- 41:37Speaker 9: really being able to be a part of that, and
- 41:39Speaker 9: so we could elevated everybody getting picked up in may
- 41:42Speaker 9: bax gls, the whole sprint of Vans. But the beautiful
- 41:46Speaker 9: thing about the event was the fact that we chose
- 41:49Speaker 9: San Diego because in nineteen fifty two, that's when Joe
- 41:53Speaker 9: Lewis played in a PGA Tour event as the first
- 41:56Speaker 9: African American and breaking that color barrier.
- 41:58Speaker 3: So that's why we chose the city.
- 42:00Speaker 9: And then we were fortunate enough to bring out the
- 42:02Speaker 9: entire Moraholes College golf team and the ad and present
- 42:06Speaker 9: them with a fifty with a fifty thousand dollars check,
- 42:08Speaker 9: and so everyone walked away from the experience like Wow,
- 42:11Speaker 9: I'm ready to come back for next year. And seeing
- 42:13Speaker 9: the kids and the moments and the smiles, like we
- 42:16Speaker 9: just posted something on our Instagram and like literally you
- 42:19Speaker 9: could see it in the face, like everyone's smiling, teeth.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Out like it was. It was a special, special moment.
- 42:27Speaker 9: And so we're excited to recreate that, you know, for
- 42:31Speaker 9: years moving forward, and we're going to continue to uplift
- 42:34Speaker 9: you know, the Moraholes College Golf team. Like we like
- 42:36Speaker 9: to say, man, we're trying to deon stand to them boys,
- 42:38Speaker 9: We're trying to have that prime time effect.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Fact, so what was let's talk about the docu series
- 42:45Speaker 3: walking through that? Like I forgot we hadn't been on
- 42:48Speaker 3: here since then for sure. I mean we see all the.
- 42:50Speaker 9: Time, so it's weird, Like I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm like, well,
- 42:53Speaker 9: we'll talk about that, but yeah, we haven't been.
- 42:55Speaker 8: You want to yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean well it
- 42:57Speaker 8: definitely first starts off as me talking out the logo
- 43:00Speaker 8: because I am the logo, but I want to turn
- 43:03Speaker 8: pro and golf and I couldn't find any sponsors. So
- 43:06Speaker 8: it was like, why not start a business and sponsor myself,
- 43:09Speaker 8: take the entrepreneur route. I started being told no, and
- 43:12Speaker 8: I wanted to turn pro. So one thing led to another.
- 43:15Speaker 8: Eastside Golf was born. Of course, you know, I'm from
- 43:17Speaker 8: East Atlanta, grew up in East Atlanta playing golf. But
- 43:21Speaker 8: that transition to how the clothes look, you know, and
- 43:24Speaker 8: how we carry ourselves. But then now it's just another way.
- 43:28Speaker 8: But we showed all of that during the docu series.
- 43:31Speaker 8: So then we showed our first pair of fours that
- 43:34Speaker 8: you guys saw and it was only a few hundred
- 43:38Speaker 8: pairs actually made. So from there and we showed the
- 43:42Speaker 8: next set of five shoes called the Red Clay Collection.
- 43:45Speaker 8: I designed both. I designed that red clay collection for
- 43:48Speaker 8: me being from the South. You know what I'm saying.
- 43:50Speaker 8: I used to take the bus to the actual golf
- 43:53Speaker 8: course and by the time I get to the Marto
- 43:56Speaker 8: bus stop, it's red clay.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Mud all over my shoes.
- 43:59Speaker 8: But it showed determination hard work that I was here
- 44:02Speaker 8: to get it out the mud. But that's where those
- 44:04Speaker 8: shoes and that collaboration, well the name of that collaboration
- 44:08Speaker 8: came from. But I mean The entire docuseries shows our
- 44:13Speaker 8: I guess, our trail from literally that the first coming
- 44:18Speaker 8: out with the logo, all the way through going up
- 44:21Speaker 8: to Jordan or Nike headquarters and showing that meeting and
- 44:25Speaker 8: showing the first time we saw the shoes, you know.
- 44:27Speaker 8: I mean, it's an incredible moment. It looked like it
- 44:30Speaker 8: looked like I was about to cry, honestly. I mean
- 44:33Speaker 8: I looked at it the other day. I was like, wow, Like,
- 44:35Speaker 8: I mean, it's just I'm just so grateful. I mean,
- 44:38Speaker 8: we look so grateful and just to have the opportunity
- 44:42Speaker 8: to show that so many more people can show how
- 44:46Speaker 8: far their dreams and how far they're actually company can
- 44:50Speaker 8: go just through really pushing that and working hard.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:53Speaker 9: And I would add to that, it's like it's golf too, right,
- 44:57Speaker 9: So it's different, right, Like we're doing this. You got
- 44:59Speaker 9: two young black men doing this in golf, right, and
- 45:03Speaker 9: to have that documented is with special I will say,
- 45:07Speaker 9: it's kind of funny now we look back on it
- 45:10Speaker 9: like it was one of them things where we really
- 45:12Speaker 9: will troop be told. When it first kind of came
- 45:15Speaker 9: to us, we really didn't even want to do it.
- 45:17Speaker 9: And I say that because it was just more like
- 45:20Speaker 9: we were just so locked in on the work, like
- 45:21Speaker 9: it was a we looked at it almost like a
- 45:23Speaker 9: distracting like coming here, sit down in front of these cameras,
- 45:26Speaker 9: you're like, man, it's so much work to do.
- 45:27Speaker 3: We don't have time to do this.
- 45:29Speaker 9: But it was one of those things that we worked
- 45:31Speaker 9: through it and we're able to, you know, kind of
- 45:34Speaker 9: see okay when it all came together, you're like, oh,
- 45:36Speaker 9: because the way a documentary is shy. Anybody knows it's
- 45:39Speaker 9: very choppy. It's not like how you see on TV.
- 45:42Speaker 9: It's like film for a day, then you might not
- 45:44Speaker 9: film for three.
- 45:46Speaker 4: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.
- 45:49Speaker 4: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,
- 45:52Speaker 4: and sure they definitely can be, but understanding a professionals
- 45:56Speaker 4: routine shows us how they achieve their success little by
- 45:59Speaker 4: little after day. It's like banking with P and C Bank.
- 46:04Speaker 4: It might seem boring to save, plan and make calculated
- 46:06Speaker 4: decisions with your bank, but keeping your money boring is
- 46:09Speaker 4: what helps you live or more happily fulfilled life. P
- 46:13Speaker 4: and C Bank brilliantly boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly

- 46:29Speaker 6: Earners. What's Up?
- 46:30Speaker 4: You ever walk into a small business and everything just
- 46:33Speaker 4: works like the checkout is fast, the receipts are digital,
- 46:37Speaker 4: tipping is a breeze, and you're out the door before
- 46:39Speaker 4: the line even builds Odds are they're using Square? We

- 47:36Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 47:40Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 47:44Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 47:48Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 47:52Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 47:56Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christine Noman, the State Secretary
- 48:00Speaker 1: of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border crossings
- 48:05Speaker 1: are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over one
- 48:08Speaker 1: hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you were
- 48:12Speaker 1: here illegally, you're next. You will be fine nearly one
- 48:16Speaker 1: thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will never return.
- 48:21Speaker 1: But if you register using our CBP home app and
- 48:24Speaker 1: leave now, you could be allowed to return legally. Do
- 48:27Speaker 1: what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump America's laws, border
- 48:32Speaker 1: and families will be protected.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Months and then come back and all.
- 48:38Speaker 9: We got to stage this moment or that moment, and
- 48:40Speaker 9: we had a lot of footage too that we had
- 48:43Speaker 9: been you know, taping, which I will say he can
- 48:47Speaker 9: attest to this.
- 48:48Speaker 3: He's on me all the time.
- 48:49Speaker 9: And that's why we have two photographers with us right now.
- 48:52Speaker 9: Film everything, you know, film everything. It is difficult because
- 48:56Speaker 9: you still kind of want to have a level of
- 48:58Speaker 9: privacy and you want to be able to, you know,
- 49:02Speaker 9: just focus on the business because it takes a while
- 49:05Speaker 9: for people to get comfortable in front of the cameras.
- 49:07Speaker 9: Like we're comfortable in front of the cameras because we're
- 49:09Speaker 9: in front of it all the time, but you could
- 49:10Speaker 9: tell when somebody's like acting or doing something different.
- 49:13Speaker 3: It's like, bro, don't worry about that.
- 49:15Speaker 9: So that was more why we didn't like the cameras
- 49:17Speaker 9: because it was like, you bring the camera into a
- 49:19Speaker 9: work session, it's going to be very unproductive because most
- 49:21Speaker 9: people that work with us aren't used to cameras all
- 49:23Speaker 9: around them. But now the docu series is amazing. The
- 49:27Speaker 9: six episodes. It definitely gives you an insight on you know,
- 49:31Speaker 9: the brand, who we are, and where we're going.
- 49:34Speaker 3: So it's special. It's called Grails. Go check it out.
- 49:37Speaker 4: You you spoke about the fifty thousand dollars going to
- 49:41Speaker 4: Morehouse and we were talking about this prior. You know,
- 49:44Speaker 4: there was just this post that you know Howard Howard,
- 49:48Speaker 4: you know you know that school right, you know they
- 49:51Speaker 4: have one of the top ranked HBCU golf programs. But
- 49:55Speaker 4: it talked because of the sponsorship that Steph Curry brought
- 49:59Speaker 4: right like and sponsoring the golf team even though it's
- 50:01Speaker 4: a night school.
- 50:02Speaker 6: He took over the golf program.
- 50:05Speaker 4: We saw this happen with Dion and Jackson State when
- 50:07Speaker 4: we talked about these programs in these HBCUs need endowment,
- 50:11Speaker 4: they need, you know, the alumni to come back in boosters,
- 50:14Speaker 4: to give back to their schools.
- 50:16Speaker 6: Talk about the importance of it.
- 50:17Speaker 4: Obviously what you're doing with Morehouse, but what we can
- 50:20Speaker 4: see happen is Jackson State can thrive and we can
- 50:23Speaker 4: see how it becoming the number one golf program.
- 50:25Speaker 6: Talk about the importance of giving back to these schools.
- 50:28Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean it's really important. That's that's where me
- 50:30Speaker 8: and Earl met at. You know what I'm saying. If
- 50:32Speaker 8: you want to see more Elijah ones than neurals, this
- 50:35Speaker 8: is where you get back to. You know, golfers are
- 50:38Speaker 8: a little bit different of athletes, a lot of them.
- 50:41Speaker 8: I think they have the highest GPA on average out.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Of all sports.
- 50:45Speaker 6: They took you all grades into account.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, right now Morehouse golf team does have the highest.
- 50:52Speaker 8: The high GPA in their conference, hopefully in all HBCUs.
- 50:58Speaker 8: But at the end of the day, it's about we
- 51:01Speaker 8: know what golf can do for so many people, but
- 51:04Speaker 8: just imagine what it can do for some college students,
- 51:06Speaker 8: you know, like now they can be around entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers,
- 51:10Speaker 8: people that run businesses. So whatever their major is, now
- 51:14Speaker 8: they have an actual tool they can get them around
- 51:16Speaker 8: the people that can actually get them a job after college.
- 51:20Speaker 8: If if they don't want to turn pro and golf,
- 51:22Speaker 8: that's cool, you know, but now use the game of
- 51:24Speaker 8: golf the further yourself, you know, use the game of
- 51:27Speaker 8: golf or get back into the actual game and change it,
- 51:31Speaker 8: you know from you know, if you're in a if
- 51:33Speaker 8: you're a marketing major, you know, now try to get
- 51:36Speaker 8: a job with the PGA or you know, PGA Tour.
- 51:39Speaker 8: Hopefully we can, we can work with them and now
- 51:42Speaker 8: and now show them a different way of showing golf.
- 51:45Speaker 8: But it's coming from a different perspective. People that have
- 51:48Speaker 8: never gotten a chance to get into that into that
- 51:51Speaker 8: section of sport. You know, people that have never really
- 51:56Speaker 8: it's just never been shown in a light that really
- 51:59Speaker 8: gets us captivated.
- 52:01Speaker 4: At the end of the day, I'm a little bit unaware,
- 52:05Speaker 4: but how much is needed for a golf program. Obviously
- 52:10Speaker 4: the clubs are they playing to get into the tournaments.
- 52:13Speaker 9: Travel with travel scholarship, I mean it's a couple hundred
- 52:18Speaker 9: thousand a year on an annual budget. You know, between scholarships,
- 52:22Speaker 9: you got hotels, you got food, you got uniforms that
- 52:26Speaker 9: could be given within the conference. But again all those
- 52:29Speaker 9: little things. You got golf balls, like, there's a lot
- 52:31Speaker 9: of these little things. And then typically you meant to
- 52:33Speaker 9: pay for the golf course as well. If it's not donated,
- 52:36Speaker 9: there could be a fee for you to get out there.
- 52:38Speaker 9: And then you got a head coach that needs to
- 52:40Speaker 9: get paid. And then some people have head coach, assistant coaches, trainers,
- 52:44Speaker 9: all that sort of thing.
- 52:45Speaker 3: You know.
- 52:45Speaker 9: So it's not a thing where it's a multimillion dollar
- 52:49Speaker 9: annual budget, but for an HBCU, a couple hundred thousand
- 52:52Speaker 9: can go a long way, and they may see they
- 52:54Speaker 9: want to put that revenue somewhere else. But I also
- 52:58Speaker 9: want to go back to what you were saying, because
- 53:00Speaker 9: I think for me, the importance of giving back to
- 53:02Speaker 9: HBCUs and golf and us particularly Like I grew up
- 53:06Speaker 9: in Womington, Delaware, and it really wasn't a lot of
- 53:09Speaker 9: you know, it's like a majority white town in state,
- 53:12Speaker 9: and so you talk about golf, that's how golf is.
- 53:16Speaker 9: And so for me going down to Moorhouse in Atlanta
- 53:18Speaker 9: and meeting him and the rest of our team members,
- 53:20Speaker 9: I'm like, yo, I've never been just like playing golf
- 53:22Speaker 9: with y'all, I was like, WHOA, Like this is amazing.
- 53:25Speaker 9: And so oftentimes for us to create an opportunity for
- 53:30Speaker 9: that young black kid out there or that young minority
- 53:33Speaker 9: kid out there to come to another place that they
- 53:35Speaker 9: can continue to flourish in golf and not feel like
- 53:39Speaker 9: he's a second class because they don't have this. They
- 53:42Speaker 9: don't have that, we won't want to provide all of
- 53:44Speaker 9: the quality resources you need, and you can still be
- 53:46Speaker 9: in an environment with people that look like you and
- 53:49Speaker 9: feel comfortable with the things you want to talk about.
- 53:51Speaker 3: You know, that goes a.
- 53:53Speaker 9: Long way, because typically in your golf journey, you're going
- 53:57Speaker 9: to be faced around white folks. It's just the nature
- 54:01Speaker 9: of the demographic of the so you have to be
- 54:03Speaker 9: comfortable in that. But to have that ability to be
- 54:06Speaker 9: around people that look like you, because He'll tell you
- 54:07Speaker 9: that was the first thing.
- 54:08Speaker 3: That blew my mind.
- 54:09Speaker 9: Like going to Atlanta and seeing all them brothers play golf,
- 54:12Speaker 9: I'm like, I never saw that. And that's so to
- 54:16Speaker 9: create an environment like that, I think HBCU golf is
- 54:20Speaker 9: very very important for their journey because it allows you
- 54:23Speaker 9: to just again identify who you are and gives you
- 54:26Speaker 9: that small little four year window to be like, man,
- 54:29Speaker 9: I'm playing with people that look like me.
- 54:31Speaker 6: That's fine.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Teams speak about endowment.
- 54:34Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean as far as like you know, for us,
- 54:37Speaker 9: so we we definitely plan on it down and Wails
- 54:39Speaker 9: College golf team and following the you know, the path
- 54:42Speaker 9: and stuff. I mean I've heard, you know, we probably
- 54:44Speaker 9: need to raise anywhere from i'd say about six million
- 54:47Speaker 9: dollars to really get it going to where you would
- 54:51Speaker 9: invest majority of those funds and then they off. The
- 54:55Speaker 9: investments can kind of kick off on an annual basis
- 54:57Speaker 9: on what you need to you know, spend, and then
- 54:59Speaker 9: you have like certain events that you would do so
- 55:01Speaker 9: like the east Side Golf Invitational clearly becomes a benefactor event,
- 55:05Speaker 9: like Steph does one in Pebble Beach every year, and
- 55:07Speaker 9: then you may host a dinner and things of that nature.
- 55:09Speaker 9: Just to continue, you know, we want to bring in
- 55:11Speaker 9: other partners like Mercedes. They've been great there behind the team.
- 55:15Speaker 9: And so as we continue to He'll tell you any
- 55:17Speaker 9: corporate room we go in and people talk about charity
- 55:20Speaker 9: males college golf team.
- 55:21Speaker 5: So what is the is the main focus the sport
- 55:24Speaker 5: of golf or the fashion of because I say that
- 55:27Speaker 5: to say a lot of sports brands started as a
- 55:30Speaker 5: sports brand now has nothing to do with the sport
- 55:32Speaker 5: at all. Polo, right, even like you see, like you know,
- 55:37Speaker 5: rugby's originally were for rugby players, right right, right, and
- 55:41Speaker 5: nobody that's wearing rugbies these days or in the last
- 55:44Speaker 5: twenty years plays rugby, right. Even you know basketball, I
- 55:49Speaker 5: mean it's still synonymous, but sneaker culture. Nobody's playing basketball
- 55:54Speaker 5: in Jordan's right probably ever right right. These are things
- 55:58Speaker 5: that are made at this point, they kind of made
- 56:02Speaker 5: to not be in sports, made for fashion, and that's
- 56:06Speaker 5: happened with soccer, a lot a variety of different sports.
- 56:10Speaker 5: You see people wearing soccer jerseys, and soccer fashion has
- 56:13Speaker 5: become a thing that people wear. So you're you have
- 56:18Speaker 5: a lifestyle brand of clothes, and so do you see
- 56:22Speaker 5: the fashion evolving to the point where it's not about
- 56:27Speaker 5: get know? I mean, but I'll go, I'll go.
- 56:32Speaker 8: But the special thing about east Side Golf is that
- 56:36Speaker 8: we can sell to pro shops and boutiques. You know,
- 56:39Speaker 8: like not a lot of golf or if any golf
- 56:42Speaker 8: companies can be successful in a boutique like Extra Butter
- 56:46Speaker 8: or Bodega.
- 56:47Speaker 3: I mean, we're we're selling the head covers.
- 56:49Speaker 8: I mean, you could pick up one of our head
- 56:51Speaker 8: covers that Bodega, you know what I'm saying, and eventually
- 56:55Speaker 8: pick up one.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Of our golf bags of Bodega.
- 56:58Speaker 8: You know, Now you have a whole different demographic that's
- 57:01Speaker 8: walking in there, that's being introduced to golf a totally
- 57:04Speaker 8: different way, and don't have to go to your country
- 57:06Speaker 8: club down the street in New York.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Do you know?
- 57:09Speaker 5: It just rough like a percentage of people that wear
- 57:11Speaker 5: you're apparel that actually play golf and people that are
- 57:14Speaker 5: just wearing it.
- 57:15Speaker 3: I don't think we know the percentage, but I don't
- 57:18Speaker 3: feel like we.
- 57:20Speaker 9: I think we have a lot of non golfers wear
- 57:22Speaker 9: and that's what we're excited about. And I mean I think, look,
- 57:26Speaker 9: this shoe is a prime example, kline with what you're
- 57:28Speaker 9: talking about. That is a golf shoe, but you can
- 57:30Speaker 9: wear it off the golf course. And so it's like
- 57:33Speaker 9: our whole thought process is if you can take the
- 57:36Speaker 9: conversation at golf into where people are comfortable.
- 57:40Speaker 3: It's like the same thing y'all doing with finance.
- 57:41Speaker 9: Instead of saying you got to have a suit on,
- 57:43Speaker 9: you got to be in this room, you got in
- 57:45Speaker 9: a classroom setting or whatever it may be.
- 57:48Speaker 3: Having the ability to.
- 57:49Speaker 9: Take that conversation where people can understand that's what we're
- 57:54Speaker 9: all about. And I think these shoes are a prime
- 57:56Speaker 9: example of you can wear them on the golf course,
- 57:59Speaker 9: but you can wear them off the golf course.
- 58:01Speaker 5: You've also so you actually have golf traditional golf apparel
- 58:07Speaker 5: that's wearable off like the cardigans, yes, and like the
- 58:11Speaker 5: actual polo shirt. Yes, these are things that you can
- 58:15Speaker 5: wear on the golf course, but you can also wear
- 58:18Speaker 5: as street fashion as well.
- 58:19Speaker 9: Exactly exactly, Yeah, no, I mean it's it's and that's
- 58:23Speaker 9: something that you know, the first brand to ever do that.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I don't know where the first brand to ever do that.
- 58:29Speaker 9: I would say that we are the first brand that
- 58:32Speaker 9: has had culture involved in it, you know what I mean?
- 58:35Speaker 9: Like you're how many you had the number one draft
- 58:39Speaker 9: picker his name from Orlando. He was wearing the carnigan
- 58:43Speaker 9: you know, started the season last year like Pablo, Yeah,
- 58:46Speaker 9: wearing it down the tunnel. We're the first brand to
- 58:48Speaker 9: do that, right, So you're not going to catch any
- 58:51Speaker 9: other golf brand where folks are going to be wearing
- 58:54Speaker 9: it down the tunnel. I guarantee you going to see
- 58:56Speaker 9: this varsity and other varsities that we have being worn
- 58:59Speaker 9: down the tonn.
- 59:00Speaker 6: I'm not gonna see Calloway or Ping, right, we go.
- 59:02Speaker 3: To see yeah, yeah, one thousand percent do y'all?
- 59:05Speaker 4: In terms of putting inside of the stores, are y'all
- 59:09Speaker 4: fighting for shelf space? Like is it specifically like I
- 59:12Speaker 4: want the clothes to be here, whereas if certain brands
- 59:15Speaker 4: are sold, they're gonna put them at the front of
- 59:17Speaker 4: the store. Put y'all, does that get into the factory
- 59:20Speaker 4: of where where you put it in the locations as
- 59:23Speaker 4: far as throughout the country where you're putting it at.
- 59:26Speaker 9: I mean, I think we're mindful of our partners, right,
- 59:29Speaker 9: anybody that as a wholesale account with east Side GoF
- 59:32Speaker 9: we're extremely mindful right where you don't want to cannibalize it, right.
- 59:34Speaker 9: So a lot of these boutiques they want exclusivity right
- 59:38Speaker 9: in the street culture. You want to know, I go
- 59:40Speaker 9: to X boutique, I can get it here, right, So
- 59:43Speaker 9: we're mindful of the fact that, like we may not
- 59:45Speaker 9: have if you're selling it to this person in that city,
- 59:48Speaker 9: you may not want to have for the people in
- 59:51Speaker 9: it in that city.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Now, when it comes to like shelf space, I think
- 59:54Speaker 3: for us it's.
- 59:55Speaker 9: About the product because if it's in the back, then
- 59:57Speaker 9: it's not moving, you know what I'm saying. They want
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: we want to be good partners. So a lot of
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: it is like the marketing making people aware of it.
- 1:00:04Speaker 9: Like so we just actually did a deal with Parodies
- 1:00:10Speaker 9: who owns PGA toward fan shops. So right now in
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: the airport you can find east Side Golf in these
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: PGA tourd fan shops.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: So in the airport in.
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: Memphis, what else is Vegas Vegas and nothing at Los Angeles. Yeah,
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: and the cell th was crazy right now right like
- 1:00:26Speaker 9: they're like moving. But again, this is kind of what
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: O is saying. It's like you could be going to
- 1:00:32Speaker 9: Los Angeles in the airport, pop in here, like, oh,
- 1:00:35Speaker 9: they got an east side golf Let me run over
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: here and grab a tea real quick. But you're going
- 1:00:38Speaker 9: into a golf store to go grab a tea real quick,
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: you know what I'm saying. Or it's that's the beauty
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: element of what we're trying to do because then when
- 1:00:46Speaker 9: you go in there, you're a new customer. Now you
- 1:00:49Speaker 9: might be like I saw these dope golf shoes or
- 1:00:51Speaker 9: I saw this whatever that I could you know, Troy
- 1:00:55Speaker 9: Shot might like this, you know what I mean. It's
- 1:00:57Speaker 9: just one of those things where it's open us up
- 1:00:59Speaker 9: to this new world. And that's what we're still excited
- 1:01:03Speaker 9: about and passionate about because we still see that upside
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: of like y'all are in it because y'all know us
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: the dope fashion. But wait till y'all get hooked on
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: the game and it's coming because y'all see all these
- 1:01:14Speaker 9: people around you playing they loving it.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: And then even if you don't get hooked.
- 1:01:19Speaker 9: It's just at least an opportunity because you're seeing it
- 1:01:21Speaker 9: more and more, I'm sure, golf opportunities, golf opportunities, So
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: one of these days y'all can get out there and
- 1:01:26Speaker 9: really get with it.
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: Does the portfolio grow outside the merge to actual equipment?
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: Do we see east side golf clubs? Do we see
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: the golf balls?
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Do we see the t well, I wouldn't say equipment, definitely.
- 1:01:40Speaker 8: That's what collaborations what we look forward to, you know,
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: working with companies that we're not trying to reinvent the
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: wheel with that.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: I mean, it costs a lot of money to make
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: a golf club, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: But actually owning a golf course, you know, actually making
- 1:01:57Speaker 8: like an east side golf club, that's something that that
- 1:02:00Speaker 8: hopefully is in our future.
- 1:02:03Speaker 9: Percent now it's definitely coming in. Yeah, So it's definitely expanding.
- 1:02:06Speaker 9: We'll always But I think the beautiful thing about it
- 1:02:08Speaker 9: is is being very protective of the brand. Right, So
- 1:02:11Speaker 9: we're working with these amazing brands and so we're very intentional. Right,
- 1:02:16Speaker 9: That's why I was saying, we're protective of our clothing
- 1:02:18Speaker 9: because when we put that stamp on something, we wanted
- 1:02:21Speaker 9: to mean something. And so as long as that stamp
- 1:02:25Speaker 9: stays strong, we can get into all of those things
- 1:02:28Speaker 9: that you're talking about, right, because our audience is so
- 1:02:31Speaker 9: wide and vast, and even when you start talking about
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: like a company and evaluation and the brand and reach,
- 1:02:37Speaker 9: it's like we're not just we can't you can't define
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: us and find a comparable for our business and do
- 1:02:43Speaker 9: it in the golf space because we're bigger than golf. Right,
- 1:02:47Speaker 9: So somebody might say, oh, well, you know there's other
- 1:02:49Speaker 9: golf brands and their value that X millions of dollars.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: Well, I guess that's where y'all at.
- 1:02:53Speaker 9: And we're like, no, no, no, no, no, Now we
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: are a We want Polo, we want you know, Nike, Rebod,
- 1:03:00Speaker 9: we want those type of numbers.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: That's you know, that's what we're headed for. That's what
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: we want to be compared to. So your goal is
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: to eventually buy a golf course, Yeah, absolutely, have you
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: looked at it? And yet? Yeah?
- 1:03:11Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I'm we're looking in Georgia right now, looking
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: at about four different places. Definitely been working with Andre
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: Dickens and also Mayor bloom out in College Park in Atlanta.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Have great relationships with them.
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: But then also we I mean it was it was
- 1:03:28Speaker 8: something I had to do early on, was get I
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: would say letters of references. I can't tell you who
- 1:03:35Speaker 8: wrote those letters because it's confidential, but just saying these
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: people would come out to the golf course and support it.
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: These are high value people. These are people that we're
- 1:03:44Speaker 8: around all the time. And I mean just saying that
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: these people will come out at the end of the day,
- 1:03:50Speaker 8: who's going to help the community the most. That's who's
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: going to get the golf course, and that's who's going
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: to push forward and make change, you know, That's what
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: all of these different cities around Atlanta, around the nation.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Are looking for. Yeah, and I think that's a learning moment.
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: So like a lot of people don't know that, like
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: golf courses, a lot of golf courses are public parks
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: and they're owned by the municipality, right and so when
- 1:04:14Speaker 9: they're owned by the municipality, there's often rps that go
- 1:04:18Speaker 9: out and you get these different management contracts to go
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: manage the golf course because a city has they don't
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: They're like, hey, we need to sub this out, we
- 1:04:26Speaker 9: don't need to manage it. Now they're not necessarily even
- 1:04:28Speaker 9: trying to make money on it, because again they're like, hey,
- 1:04:31Speaker 9: if you're going to come in and make this attractive,
- 1:04:34Speaker 9: it brings that economic impact. So they'll literally for a dollar,
- 1:04:39Speaker 9: you can manage this for a dollar a year for
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: the next four or five years. Now, again you need
- 1:04:44Speaker 9: to have a plan, and there's management groups that go
- 1:04:47Speaker 9: out all the time and bid for these municipality and
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: city golf courses, and so again that's kind of where
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: we were looking at what we're putting together an attractive
- 1:04:55Speaker 9: offer and saying, hey, you can trust this golf course
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: in our hands. It's going to be well manicure. These
- 1:05:01Speaker 9: are the type of people that are gonna come out.
- 1:05:02Speaker 9: But again I encourage each and everyone that's listening to
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: go find that municipal golf course in your neighborhood or
- 1:05:10Speaker 9: or in your surrounding area, because that's a public facility
- 1:05:14Speaker 9: that you, as a taxpayer, have the right to go
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: out and enjoy.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: Technically, there's a difference between that route and privately owned
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: Yes one hundred they owned privately ones they own the land, Yes,
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: charged membership fee, Yes, the public one is a bit different.
- 1:05:28Speaker 9: Yes, big big difference. And then again so like the
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: public route, you could have it where it's almost like
- 1:05:35Speaker 9: like stock almost right, like you can buy in like
- 1:05:37Speaker 9: your initiation you buy in at It could be any
- 1:05:40Speaker 9: It could be one hundred thousand dollars to become a
- 1:05:42Speaker 9: member here right as that value goes up, and if
- 1:05:45Speaker 9: it's limited numbers of stock, you can sell it for
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: more more, you can pass it down. That's what a
- 1:05:51Speaker 9: lot of people don't understand too. A lot of these
- 1:05:53Speaker 9: memberships are passed down, right, So you right now, y'all,
- 1:05:57Speaker 9: what's just the country club? You could join what'sester country club?
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: To say, cost you one hundred thousand joint Winchester country Club.
- 1:06:03Speaker 9: You then could be a member. Your son's a member,
- 1:06:08Speaker 9: he rolls right into his junior membership. After him rolling
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: into his junior membership, he now inherits your membership as
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: a full time member, and he doesn't have to pay
- 1:06:17Speaker 9: that initiation fee. And that initiation fee could be worth
- 1:06:21Speaker 9: five hundred thousand when it's time for him to become
- 1:06:23Speaker 9: a member. Just just sheer off of inflation and then
- 1:06:26Speaker 9: the access that he has right as well. Now, so
- 1:06:29Speaker 9: your son may not be like, I don't play golf.
- 1:06:31Speaker 9: My dad got this membership at Westchester, but hey, let's
- 1:06:34Speaker 9: have the meetings here. Hey, I want to have your
- 1:06:36Speaker 9: grandkids having birthdays there or conference whatever it may be.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Like that's the people to the tenants. The beach club.
- 1:06:43Speaker 9: Like I was just in the Hamptons at this course
- 1:06:45Speaker 9: called Maidstone, and I was blown away because the beach.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: I'm like, hold up, it's a beach.
- 1:06:52Speaker 9: Like imagine like my like you know what I mean,
- 1:06:56Speaker 9: adupe beach on the other side of a golf course
- 1:06:58Speaker 9: and I'm like, oh, they have a beach club. And
- 1:07:01Speaker 9: so it's just kind of one of them things where
- 1:07:03Speaker 9: like and me and him talk about this stuff all
- 1:07:05Speaker 9: the time, where we've been in golf so long, but
- 1:07:07Speaker 9: we're still learning places that we ain't ever been an
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: exclusive and it's just it's that world of golf when
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: you get into it, it's it's it's it's a it's amazing.
- 1:07:20Speaker 9: It's a very powerful world. It's a lot of money,
- 1:07:22Speaker 9: wealth and decision making that are going on. It's very
- 1:07:25Speaker 9: like a quiet society. Nobody's talking about our experiences, Like
- 1:07:31Speaker 9: nobody's coming back from the place that we go and
- 1:07:33Speaker 9: come to these type of platforms and talk to you
- 1:07:35Speaker 9: about those facilities.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: So you put it in your top five been on.
- 1:07:39Speaker 9: Yes, it was like that, man, it was it was
- 1:07:42Speaker 9: I was blown away, man, like I was. You tell
- 1:07:45Speaker 9: you I was blown away. And then you got these
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: homes that are like right on the water. It's just
- 1:07:50Speaker 9: it's just like, man, and it's it's right there. It's
- 1:07:53Speaker 9: for us, like we can have it, you know what
- 1:07:55Speaker 9: I mean, Like I'm looking at it like all right,
- 1:07:57Speaker 9: well I need to you know, I need to get
- 1:07:59Speaker 9: my wait up so I can be out here at
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: this beach.
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: Club put the plan together.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: So we talk about this a lot, and we try
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: to get people interested in golf because we say a
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: lot of business deals and a lot of business fold
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: happens there. I wander for you, guys, how has that
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: been for you? Right, like you're in the world of golf.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: How many business deals of being negotiated for y'all through
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: your traveling on the course?
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: All of them?
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: All?
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: Yeah, all everyone, all of them?
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Most of them. Yeah.
- 1:08:25Speaker 8: I mean even some of our partnerships. I just got
- 1:08:27Speaker 8: hit up today. Couldn't even make it because we're traveling.
- 1:08:30Speaker 8: But they're inviting us out to go play golf just
- 1:08:32Speaker 8: to you know, talk, you know, where you guys's heads, like,
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: what do you guys have coming up next?
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: How can we be involved?
- 1:08:40Speaker 8: Like, I mean, they're inviting us out to the nicest
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: country clubs, trying to honestly sometimes earn our business, you know.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: I mean this is how the game works.
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: I mean there are no gatekeepers, there are no people
- 1:08:52Speaker 8: that say, I mean, you know you can't talk to
- 1:08:55Speaker 8: this person.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: No, you can eventually talk to them. Just stay out
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: there on the golf course.
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: I mean you'll eventually have that time to where you've
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: been wanting that CEO's time five minutes a coffee or
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: something like that, but you can actually have five hours
- 1:09:07Speaker 8: of their time.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: If you know how to play golf, you'll be good.
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: Like Angie says, just keep up with the pace, keep
- 1:09:14Speaker 9: up with the PAC's that's right. I mean I was
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: recently planning in this event on the next cup where
- 1:09:20Speaker 9: I met Tiger woods at and I'm in the cart
- 1:09:23Speaker 9: when it was my partner and last same Assizio and
- 1:09:28Speaker 9: he is he's like a partner at or runs the
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: US for Mazuho Bank. I'm not sure you ever heard
- 1:09:34Speaker 9: of Missouo bank, but I hadn't, right, and so I'm
- 1:09:37Speaker 9: asking an inquisitive question like, oh, how much is under management?
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:09:42Speaker 9: He used a number I never even heard anyone use.
- 1:09:45Speaker 9: He's out their mouth. He said two trillion dollars. I
- 1:09:48Speaker 9: was just like, oh, okay. So I'm sitting on a
- 1:09:50Speaker 9: cart with a guy that's like top level at a bank,
- 1:09:54Speaker 9: a global bank.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: It's based in Japan called Mazuo.
- 1:09:58Speaker 9: And they managed to billion dollars like they lend to
- 1:10:01Speaker 9: like eighteen and t like all these big fortune five
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: hundred companies like they do the lending to them, and
- 1:10:07Speaker 9: so it wasn't like they automatically did our lending, right,
- 1:10:11Speaker 9: That's not what I'm trying to say. But that's a
- 1:10:13Speaker 9: relationship there, right, that if we do need to or
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: if it does make business sense, that you can kind
- 1:10:18Speaker 9: of grow and develop. So it's never a thing where
- 1:10:20Speaker 9: it's like an instant, Oh, you go to the golf course,
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: it's going to immediately mean that you get something, because
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: then it becomes like very transactional. But it's like the
- 1:10:29Speaker 9: people that you meet, the opportunity, the time you get
- 1:10:32Speaker 9: to spend with them, you know, cause I hear you
- 1:10:33Speaker 9: talk about all the time. It's relationships. One thing we
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: talk about here is it's relationships. So being able to
- 1:10:41Speaker 9: again nurture those relationships and getting to spend quality time
- 1:10:47Speaker 9: with busy people is golf.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: It's a cheat code.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: So how do you see the future of golf, because
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: you know, we have top golf, which has become very popular. Yes,
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: we see like a lot of hybrids of different sports
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: that's taking place. We just had Rich Climb in here
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: and he was talking about lacrosse, like the street ball
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: across going. So golf is a sport that it's still
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: a time consuming sport, yep. And we live in a
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: culture that really appreciates things that's fast paced. So do
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: you see like a hybrid faster paced type mini miniature golf?
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: Adam Sandler on the type thing happening potentially in the future.
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: I mean, like I said, top golf is actually like that.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: It's a billion a driving range like of sorts. But
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: do you see a world with extreme golf?
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: I don't know, if you get extreme.
- 1:11:39Speaker 9: They got this thing coming out top of the year
- 1:11:41Speaker 9: called Tomorrow Golf League where it's literally played in an arena,
- 1:11:46Speaker 9: so you're gonna hit into a simulator and then when
- 1:11:49Speaker 9: you get to a certain yardage, you actually hit a
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: real shot.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: And so they built this arena from the ground up.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: You got Tiger Woods. Sounds like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:58Speaker 8: Well but it's so I mean, it's so technology savvy,
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: like I heard, yeah, well so yes, but then they
- 1:12:06Speaker 8: have it to where the green can change elevations and
- 1:12:10Speaker 8: like so under the under the turf, like you have
- 1:12:13Speaker 8: this machine that makes it into the shape shifting type
- 1:12:16Speaker 8: of place to where it changes into a different hole
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: every time you play it.
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:12:22Speaker 8: You just I mean it might only be like I think,
- 1:12:25Speaker 8: one hundred and fifty yards, but you're gonna hit your
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: first shot the hole might be five hundred yards, gonna
- 1:12:30Speaker 8: get your first shot into a actual simulator. Then when
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: you get one hundred and fifty yards in, that's when
- 1:12:35Speaker 8: you'll hit your real shot. But it changes and makeshifts
- 1:12:39Speaker 8: every time when you get down to one hundred and
- 1:12:41Speaker 8: fifty yards.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, So I mean, it's it's happening now, like you
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: got that happening now. And then I think I think
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: where it is headed.
- 1:12:48Speaker 9: Though, is you're the culture is headed for golf right,
- 1:12:51Speaker 9: like and that's clear, and so I think you'll you're
- 1:12:54Speaker 9: gonna see. I think one of the biggest things I
- 1:12:57Speaker 9: think we'll see too is like the dress code really
- 1:13:00Speaker 9: loosening it up over the years, right because like at
- 1:13:02Speaker 9: one point in time, like for the PGA Tour, you
- 1:13:06Speaker 9: could not wear shorts, like you had to wear pants period, period,
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: and you still have to wear pants, I believe in
- 1:13:13Speaker 9: the tournament you could just wear shorts during the practice round.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: Now, so it's starting to like really loosen up.
- 1:13:18Speaker 9: You're starting to have, you know, folks playing a little
- 1:13:20Speaker 9: bit more music now, that sort of thing that's always
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: kind of been like a little taboo ish, like don't
- 1:13:25Speaker 9: play your music, don't play loud. So it's evolving. I
- 1:13:29Speaker 9: think you're gonna need a sport. You need that one
- 1:13:33Speaker 9: athlete that just comes in and that's just unapologetic and
- 1:13:36Speaker 9: he's just that nice that can really move the needle,
- 1:13:39Speaker 9: you know what I mean, because like you gotta understand too,
- 1:13:41Speaker 9: man like shout out to Tiger Woods, because he brought
- 1:13:44Speaker 9: that level of intensity, Like remember everybody was doing this.
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: He was out there like fist pumping like that was
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: his mantra.
- 1:13:53Speaker 9: And people didn't really like that like that wasn't you know,
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: a thing that everyone was just like, oh great, Tiger,
- 1:14:01Speaker 9: would you fist pumping and excited and showing emotion. That
- 1:14:05Speaker 9: wasn't something that you know, we were ever, I know
- 1:14:08Speaker 9: for me specifically, and I think we taught to be
- 1:14:10Speaker 9: like you were trained not to be emotional, like you're
- 1:14:14Speaker 9: trained to be like very like stoic, like focused. I'm like, like,
- 1:14:18Speaker 9: you know, I'm thinking like a ninja type vibe, like
- 1:14:20Speaker 9: a zen es, you know what I mean. Tiger was
- 1:14:23Speaker 9: someone that really came out there and just poured his
- 1:14:28Speaker 9: emotions out and they were you could see that, and
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: that's what we could, you know, relate to. You know
- 1:14:32Speaker 9: what I mean, We used to people getting upset.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: That's real.
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: Well, talk about showing up everywhere you guys were adding
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: investments this year.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, unbelievable.
- 1:14:47Speaker 6: I'm interested to hear your takeaway and thank you for
- 1:14:49Speaker 6: showing up.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Thanks for the invite.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: We get to include y'all, especially because it's culture, right.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: It's bigger than business, is bigger than financial. Literacy is
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: about culture and y'are definitely a part of it. So
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: talk about your experience being part of the historic and
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: legendary investments.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: No, I was, man. I mean, first off, thank you guys. Man.
- 1:15:07Speaker 8: That was it was definitely dope. That was the biggest
- 1:15:10Speaker 8: crowd that I've ever spoken in front of. You know,
- 1:15:13Speaker 8: we were on the Fidelity stage with Corey and Sarah
- 1:15:17Speaker 8: over there, and I mean we got to tell our
- 1:15:20Speaker 8: point of view on what we're doing, and while we're
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: doing it, you know, it was it was empowering because
- 1:15:26Speaker 8: it was so many of course, so many people in
- 1:15:28Speaker 8: the room that looked like us, and just so many
- 1:15:31Speaker 8: diverse people that were just looking for honestly, sometimes looking
- 1:15:34Speaker 8: for guidance or a different way of thinking about things,
- 1:15:37Speaker 8: you know, and just looking for that push, you know,
- 1:15:39Speaker 8: So for them to look to us and for us
- 1:15:43Speaker 8: to be up on that stage, and I mean, I'm
- 1:15:45Speaker 8: honored to give these people, you know, how I got
- 1:15:48Speaker 8: to where I am. You know, I'm honored to tell
- 1:15:52Speaker 8: them how relationships work and how to be successful and
- 1:15:55Speaker 8: to work within a company, work within a conglomerate that
- 1:15:58Speaker 8: can push forward and be seen as something.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: That is successful.
- 1:16:03Speaker 8: Like it's very hard to do at the end of
- 1:16:05Speaker 8: the day, of course, if you guys know, but at
- 1:16:08Speaker 8: the end of the day, I mean it was I'm
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: glad we got to do it because it showed just
- 1:16:14Speaker 8: how connected that we were and pushing this game forward.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: That but at the end of the day that it
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: wasn't about us.
- 1:16:21Speaker 8: It's about how far can we take people within this
- 1:16:23Speaker 8: game of golf and what they can actually use it for.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: So I'm glad, I'm glad we could show that. Yeah, no,
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: I agree. It was mind blowing. Man. I walked in
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: there and I told you, I mean, you know, y'all
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: hear the numbers, right, it's like.
- 1:16:35Speaker 9: Twenty thousand, twenty thousand people get your tickets now, and
- 1:16:40Speaker 9: literally it might be twenty one thousand.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: Like I walked in that room. I'm like, yo.
- 1:16:46Speaker 9: And it's crazy too because in kudos of you man,
- 1:16:50Speaker 9: you guys deserve your flowers because the.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Show you really have created a moment.
- 1:16:55Speaker 9: Like we were staying at the club Windom and they
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: have a rooftop and it's literally right across from like
- 1:17:01Speaker 9: that park, and I could see it's like a sea
- 1:17:03Speaker 9: of people like either walking going and I'm just like wow,
- 1:17:08Speaker 9: Like y'all really have like created a culturally relevant moment,
- 1:17:14Speaker 9: Like people are like, are you going to invest best?
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: You got to be at Investvest.
- 1:17:18Speaker 9: You gotta be on stage like it's a thing now, right,
- 1:17:21Speaker 9: Like you guys are converging all of this and to
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: see that to be a part of it, it's been
- 1:17:28Speaker 9: unbelievable for us. So I mean we and again you
- 1:17:31Speaker 9: guys have to you know, the wherewithal to be like
- 1:17:34Speaker 9: not just thinking I was a golf brand. I don't
- 1:17:36Speaker 9: know if they can fit out demo or because most
- 1:17:39Speaker 9: people may not look at it that way, you know
- 1:17:40Speaker 9: what I mean, just off the service east side golf.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Oh, we're only gonna invite them to golf events, you
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 1:17:45Speaker 9: But it's like, nah, You're like no, they have a voice,
- 1:17:47Speaker 9: they have a perspective, and so we appreciate y'all. But
- 1:17:51Speaker 9: I was blown away and you know, kind of sent
- 1:17:53Speaker 9: for next year.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: But I've been in now. So what's up for you
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: guys the end of this year? Twenty twenty four? What's
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: on the vision board? What do you have plans?
- 1:18:04Speaker 9: Yeah, now, twenty four is gonna be a very pack year.
- 1:18:07Speaker 9: We got I mean it's already kind of booked up,
- 1:18:09Speaker 9: which is good, you know what I mean. We're excited
- 1:18:11Speaker 9: about that. You know, we have a lot of events
- 1:18:13Speaker 9: that we did last year. One of the biggest things
- 1:18:15Speaker 9: is going to be our Community Day, so in the
- 1:18:18Speaker 9: city of we have four different cities that we'll be
- 1:18:21Speaker 9: hitting this year.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: So last year we BEDEA tested in Memphis.
- 1:18:24Speaker 9: And the goal beyond around our Community Day is we
- 1:18:27Speaker 9: want your first interaction on a golf course to have
- 1:18:31Speaker 9: nothing to do with finances. So come out meet the
- 1:18:34Speaker 9: founders of east Side Golf. But also you'll get free
- 1:18:38Speaker 9: tea times all day for folks to go play. We'll
- 1:18:41Speaker 9: have lessons going up there on the driving range, We'll
- 1:18:44Speaker 9: have free food, and again you get opportunity to probably
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: grab some of the gear, but you get the opportunity
- 1:18:49Speaker 9: to meet people, connect and you realize, oh, a bucket
- 1:18:54Speaker 9: of balls may only be ten dollars. Oh, they have
- 1:18:57Speaker 9: rental sets in there for free that I can rent
- 1:18:59Speaker 9: club cubs or rent just one club and if you don't,
- 1:19:02Speaker 9: we want to leave rental club.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: So we're going to we have a couple of them,
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: the city of Augusta.
- 1:19:07Speaker 9: We're going to Jacksonville, We're going back to Memphis, We're
- 1:19:11Speaker 9: going to Detroit, and then the biggest one, you know,
- 1:19:14Speaker 9: back to the Crib at the A. So we got
- 1:19:16Speaker 9: five community days that we're doing. You know what Cali says,
- 1:19:21Speaker 9: still you know.
- 1:19:23Speaker 6: Yeah, that's still you know that golfing.
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: We got the Invitational coming again, and we're really I
- 1:19:32Speaker 9: think what I'm most excited about too, is just the
- 1:19:34Speaker 9: clothes man, Like the close is gonna be.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: We really the team really, you know, they did it.
- 1:19:40Speaker 9: They did an amazing job and stepping that up, and
- 1:19:44Speaker 9: we're gonna be you know, fashion shows, New York Fashion Week.
- 1:19:48Speaker 9: We're definitely gonna be there strong this year. You know,
- 1:19:51Speaker 9: we're still gonna be out in Paris, but the show
- 1:19:53Speaker 9: not yet.
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: Oh that's just the research man. What you said with
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: beta testing, Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: Well, you know we got to stay close to y'all too,
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: you know what I mean, we appreciate y'all. We're not
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: gonna let this moment.
- 1:20:09Speaker 9: I don't know where we are in this interview, but
- 1:20:11Speaker 9: you know, last time we saw these guys, you know,
- 1:20:13Speaker 9: was on the runway.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:20:16Speaker 10: They're like, Yo, what's run with the c Yeah, I'm sorry,
- 1:20:21Speaker 10: I'm sorry.
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: It was the clear port, you know, knocked out.
- 1:20:24Speaker 9: I felt like yo, everybody was talking and everybody we
- 1:20:28Speaker 9: landed I'm like, man, Yeah.
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: Shout out the Culture Leadership Fund, shout out to the
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: coach and leadership. That was a good way to travel, man. Yeah,
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: we gotta get this EYO invitation off the ground too.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: Yes, let's do it. Yeah, I already know we got you. Yes, dot.
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: Well, gentlemen, always a pleasure. Other people know when when
- 1:20:55Speaker 5: where they can follow you guys. Instagram, website, all that,
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: all that good stuff.
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: Yeah, follow us on east Side Golf on Instagram, on
- 1:21:02Speaker 8: Twitter at east Side Golf. Also we have an app
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: at east Side Golf and our website is eastside goolf
- 1:21:09Speaker 8: dot com.
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: So yeah, go download that app, you know what I mean.
- 1:21:12Speaker 9: It was actually trending at one point it was Soil
- 1:21:15Speaker 9: on the app then sixty nine, number sixty nine on
- 1:21:20Speaker 9: the top apps in the shopping category.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's sound I mean yeah.
- 1:21:24Speaker 9: I mean you guys, brands like Czara, Nike, all of
- 1:21:27Speaker 9: them on there, so it was special.
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: Not those are things that excite us, you know what
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: I mean.
- 1:21:32Speaker 9: That's like, man, like, you know, to compete in that
- 1:21:35Speaker 9: space with those, you know, those major brands. But yeah,
- 1:21:37Speaker 9: please go download that app, stay up on everything, all
- 1:21:40Speaker 9: of our latest drops, all of our latest pieces.
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: A lot more coming, yeah, soure man.
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: So one last question is DIVERSI are you are you
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: looking to diversify the apparel like I could see you
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: guys doing like, you know, like a Jeff Hamilton leathern
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: jacket something like that with the east Side golf or
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: something like some iconic like I had to give more
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: collection or something like you. I'm playing around like that
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: because right now it's been pretty consistent right with the logo.
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: You have some other things Cardigan, I like the varsity jacket.
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: Are you going to start playing around with the hepe
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: beats culture and getting a little yeah, see, no.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: For sure, we got we got for Diaman is what he's.
- 1:22:21Speaker 6: That was yell in Bodega. But we can take out
- 1:22:22Speaker 6: to the ribbo.
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna sit over here there. No.
- 1:22:31Speaker 8: So at the end of the day, we have a
- 1:22:33Speaker 8: couple of collaborations that's big coming out next year that's
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: gonna really shake where golf has never been, you know,
- 1:22:40Speaker 8: and even showing how it's to be worn on the
- 1:22:43Speaker 8: golf course.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: But then you know, see that the y'all and show
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: y'all how to wear it outside of the golf course.
- 1:22:49Speaker 8: So I mean, but definitely some pieces that that are
- 1:22:53Speaker 8: definitely hype be it hype hype beast ish, you know
- 1:22:57Speaker 8: what I'm saying, That speak to cultures, to guys and
- 1:23:01Speaker 8: women that are into sneakers, but then also love the
- 1:23:04Speaker 8: game of golf. But here's the intersection, you know, we
- 1:23:07Speaker 8: finally can we finally have the intersection, and I feel
- 1:23:10Speaker 8: like it's at east Side Golf and it's going to
- 1:23:14Speaker 8: show through these collaborations. You never know what type of
- 1:23:16Speaker 8: jerseys you might see that have east Side Golf on them.
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: It might be hockey, baseball, basketball, football, You never know
- 1:23:25Speaker 8: next year.
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: So we just got to just gotta stay tuned for yeah.
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: And then also, I mean, we in Japan.
- 1:23:30Speaker 9: That's a big global market for us, and you got
- 1:23:33Speaker 9: a store over there and it's booming, it's doing really well.
- 1:23:36Speaker 9: We actually can take the name. But we're going out
- 1:23:39Speaker 9: to Hong Kong, Yeah, for an event. I'm so excited
- 1:23:42Speaker 9: about that. And that's the other thing, you know what
- 1:23:43Speaker 9: I mean, just taking a brand global, right, And so
- 1:23:46Speaker 9: sometimes again we can't go as fast as we want
- 1:23:49Speaker 9: because the demand is so high. We want to be
- 1:23:51Speaker 9: able to service that demand at the right time and
- 1:23:54Speaker 9: so super excited about just building a global brand. Just
- 1:23:57Speaker 9: so you guys are I mean y'all traveling to Africa
- 1:24:00Speaker 9: and you know London.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: You just trying to keep up. Yeah, basically that's all
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: I'm getting that man trying.
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: To Can we salute you as as two black men,
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: three black men in aerial lesion and all our staff
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: to see black men leading together, right, because you're not
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: doing this as a solo mission and solo mission, you're
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: actually working together. And it's something that I kind of
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: emphasize when people look at us, right, they forget.
- 1:24:24Speaker 6: That that he's an individual.
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: I'm individual, and we yeah, we together all the time, right,
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: but we have a common mission and a common vision.
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: So to see y'all doing it, we salute y'all and
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: appluge y'all, and we'll continue not only to support, but
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: you know, encourage y'all and make sure that you know
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: we're wrapping the brand like it's a Yeah.
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: No, I appreciate it.
- 1:24:44Speaker 9: You had said you got to say that caption one
- 1:24:47Speaker 9: more time because it is hitting off what you said.
- 1:24:49Speaker 9: It was something like if y'all could work it out
- 1:24:51Speaker 9: when y'all had nothing, you know what I mean?
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: Then there's no reason why you should break up when
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: you have everything. That's a fact. Facts, that's the fact.
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: So team makes the dream work is keep the band together.
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: That's like every time I see Jimmy shout to Jim Jones,
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: but every time I see Jim say the same thing,
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: like you make sure you stay together. You know, you
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: learn from other people's mistakes. And I'm sure that you
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: know that. Dip said that's that's one of my favorite
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: bibs of all time. So it's like, you know, I
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: don't know exactly what he means by that, but I'm
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: assuming you know, no, it would be better if they
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: would have still together. Ye, Like you know what I'm saying.
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: It's like ego, pride, different things that different. But it's
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: like looking back on it, how you feel in the moment,
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: it's not always how you're going to feel later on.
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: It's like a relationship. You might say things like damn,
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: I didn't really it wasn't that serious. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: like I ain't mean it in my marriage over right, right,
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: always keep the band together, man together, and that's important
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: doing that.
- 1:25:49Speaker 9: And we again we look up to y'all, right, like
- 1:25:51Speaker 9: y'all are an example of keeping the band together, and
- 1:25:54Speaker 9: you know what I mean, we want to continue to
- 1:25:56Speaker 9: be that example.
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: But so what's your because people asks us that all
- 1:25:58Speaker 5: the time, like how do y'all deal with challenges? How
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: do I deal with disagreements? How do you deal with issues?
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: Like how do y'all deal with issues? To make sure
- 1:26:06Speaker 5: that you know it's still a united front? Yeah, I mean,
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: at the end of the day, we trust each other.
- 1:26:11Speaker 8: So if there's a question of something where we have
- 1:26:15Speaker 8: two different visions or two different ways of looking at it,
- 1:26:17Speaker 8: two different answers totally different, will come will come together
- 1:26:21Speaker 8: and we'll talk about it. But whoever's the most passionate
- 1:26:25Speaker 8: it has the best reason for that question. I mean,
- 1:26:29Speaker 8: that's usually the route that we have, that tie breaking system.
- 1:26:33Speaker 8: Not really passion, right, passion.
- 1:26:37Speaker 9: I think the passion is the time brokah.
- 1:26:41Speaker 8: Because it's not about being right at the end of
- 1:26:43Speaker 8: the day. At the end of the day, for me,
- 1:26:46Speaker 8: if he's right, literally, if he's right one hundred percent
- 1:26:50Speaker 8: of the time, then I've done my jobs as choosing
- 1:26:54Speaker 8: the right partner, you know what I'm saying, That makes
- 1:26:56Speaker 8: my job easier. I mean, it's not about being right.
- 1:26:59Speaker 8: It's about doing the right thing for our business and
- 1:27:01Speaker 8: doing the right thing for culture and golf.
- 1:27:03Speaker 9: So and I think, as we say, you got to
- 1:27:05Speaker 9: work on the friendship too, right, because we're friends. So
- 1:27:07Speaker 9: it's like setting east and we'll be talking. We'll be like, yo,
- 1:27:12Speaker 9: I'm not talking to you as eastside Golf. I'm talking
- 1:27:14Speaker 9: to you as oh, or I'm talking to you as earl.
- 1:27:16Speaker 9: I'm talking to you as your friend. Like what's going on, man,
- 1:27:19Speaker 9: how you doing? How's your family?
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:27:21Speaker 9: Cause it can get crazy and all you do is
- 1:27:23Speaker 9: talk about the work and talk about the business.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: And it's like that's what attracted us to each other,
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: not the work, not the business.
- 1:27:28Speaker 9: This is my brother, like I remember supporting him. He
- 1:27:31Speaker 9: supported me before all of this stuff. So it's like
- 1:27:33Speaker 9: to your point, now that we have everything, we don't
- 1:27:35Speaker 9: want to lose that, but it is something that you
- 1:27:38Speaker 9: do have to work on it. And I would say,
- 1:27:40Speaker 9: for me, this is my personality, Like I had to
- 1:27:43Speaker 9: learn to express myself, like tell them you.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: Know what I'm saying. And it could come middle of
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: the night, middle of the morning.
- 1:27:49Speaker 9: Sometimes you sleep on it, whatever it may be, and
- 1:27:50Speaker 9: I'll just be like, yo, oh, I got to holler
- 1:27:52Speaker 9: at you, I need ten minutes. And then oftentimes I
- 1:27:55Speaker 9: learned FaceTime is the best time to do it too,
- 1:27:58Speaker 9: because text messages you kind of put your you add
- 1:28:00Speaker 9: your tone to it.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: Somebody can saying you like where you at, and you
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: can be like you can read it like where the
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: hell you at? And it's like, bro, I'm lost, I'm
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: looking for you. Translation right, it's not that So I'm like,
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: I don't need to send it in text. The tone
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: at least you do FaceTime.
- 1:28:16Speaker 9: It's like you're giving that person an undivided attention and
- 1:28:20Speaker 9: you can kind of just get it off your chest.
- 1:28:22Speaker 9: And I feel like, also for us, like we let
- 1:28:25Speaker 9: the guard down when you tell him like, yo, something
- 1:28:27Speaker 9: bothered me. Like even at CLF he says somebody like, yo, bro,
- 1:28:30Speaker 9: I need to hogh at.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: You like just bothering me.
- 1:28:32Speaker 9: And I'm like, all right, like dope, I appreciate you
- 1:28:36Speaker 9: telling me what bothered you, because you're a human. If
- 1:28:39Speaker 9: something bothered me, he was like yo, I'm like yo,
- 1:28:41Speaker 9: I don't like this. Or and we had one incident
- 1:28:44Speaker 9: one time he was like on the zoom call. This
- 1:28:46Speaker 9: had to be three years three and a half year,
- 1:28:49Speaker 9: and we was like not on the same page, and
- 1:28:51Speaker 9: we start like, yes, we ain't that what they say
- 1:28:59Speaker 9: we got The thing was we got off the phone,
- 1:29:01Speaker 9: was like, bro, we can never do that again. It
- 1:29:04Speaker 9: looked terrible. You haven't done of it since we just
- 1:29:08Speaker 9: united in front but on the page. But yeah, it
- 1:29:11Speaker 9: is work. It is work because we both get busier, right,
- 1:29:14Speaker 9: Like he's got more things going on. I got more
- 1:29:16Speaker 9: things going on. But at the end of the day,
- 1:29:19Speaker 9: it is us coming together. Like we take that time
- 1:29:22Speaker 9: and be like, yo, I gotta higher at you.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: What's up?
- 1:29:24Speaker 6: What's going on? That?
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: That's the story.
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: That's it right there, Like when people ask us that,
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: that's it, Like there's gonna be conversations that we're gonna
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: have that the world won't be privy to exactly.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: It's important. I think that's very important.
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: People don't know how to deal with each other in
- 1:29:37Speaker 5: business because yeah, you know, once again you see a
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: lot of people that break up.
- 1:29:41Speaker 9: Yeah, and I think too, to your point, it's like
- 1:29:44Speaker 9: letting other people get in your ear about like, can't
- 1:29:46Speaker 9: nobody tell me about him? We had this one incident
- 1:29:49Speaker 9: literally and then I'll swear it's my last thing.
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: You got to say that point again, say that first point.
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: Nobody ain't nobody tell me about him, something about him?
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: But I say all the time, right, how you gonna
- 1:29:59Speaker 6: tell me?
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: That's my man?
- 1:30:01Speaker 9: Like I know him, you know what I'm saying. So
- 1:30:03Speaker 9: one time I was talking to somebody about something. This
- 1:30:07Speaker 9: person went to him and said in misinterpret what I said.
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: The good thing is he comes directly to me and
- 1:30:14Speaker 9: was like, Yo, did you say such and such. I'm like, nah,
- 1:30:17Speaker 9: I'm like, but we're all still in the room. Let's
