- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So this morning we are talking about challenging our own
- 0:34beliefs. It's that time of the year.
- 0:36It is fall cleaning as my mother would say.
- 0:39Some of the gifts my mother gave me spring cleaning, fall
- 0:42cleaning, going through things and getting rid of stuff that
- 0:46didn't feel good in the house and before we go into the
- 0:50holidays, before we go into our. You know, this time of the year
- 0:55where it becomes so intense for some of us in good ways and some
- 1:01intense for bad ways. For me, it's always like, you
- 1:03know, the back to school mind frame of you're back in school.
- 1:08So I have a really high intensity frame of learning
- 1:11right now and I love, love, love to.
- 1:16Keep up with that. And that's a belief that I've
- 1:17challenged before because it's like, well, I keep saying to
- 1:21myself, I feel like I need to be learning something because I
- 1:24should be back in school right now because I loved school when
- 1:27I was a kid. When I was very little, I
- 1:29didn't. I loved school.
- 1:30I didn't like being in school, be very specific about that.
- 1:33But I loved learning. And so I've learned.
- 1:35I've challenged those beliefs. I've separated them and now I'm,
- 1:39I can say, wow, I really love this.
- 1:41So one of my favorite things, and this is not a paid plug to
- 1:44them, It's just that I absolutely love this Platform is
- 1:47master class. If nobody has ever taken master
- 1:50class before. masterclass.com group of very highly
- 1:55accomplished people, some of them famous, some of them not so
- 1:58famous. And they.
- 1:59Classes on there and they are amazing for inspiration.
- 2:04They are amazing for learning and when you dive into some of
- 2:07them and you can learn pretty much anything from anybody, it
- 2:09is the the the cooking ones are outstanding and I can't stress
- 2:15enough how much fun it is now That came about because I was
- 2:20challenging my beliefs up from the past about well.
- 2:25Do I always have to be learning something this time of year?
- 2:27It puts so much pressure on me to to be working, to be mom, to
- 2:31be doing all this. And yet I need to learn
- 2:33something. And it was driving me crazy.
- 2:35So I challenged it and I was like, no, this is a really good
- 2:38thing. I like this.
- 2:40I I think this is a good thing for me and I enjoy it.
- 2:43So now I don't argue with it and I go with it and it really makes
- 2:47a tremendous difference. It's rubbed off.
- 2:49On my husband now and it's rubbing off on my son and my
- 2:53daughter has it full, full blown.
- 2:55She's always doing the same thing I'm doing now.
- 2:58That's a positive outcome, but you still have to challenge the
- 3:01negative ones too. There are negative beliefs that
- 3:03we have to challenge. Like I can't tell you how many
- 3:05times I've heard people say things about well keeping
- 3:08chickens is hard or doing this is hard and you know farming is
- 3:13hard. How many people because be very
- 3:16clear that. When you get older and people
- 3:20know you're older, they start to say things to you about, Oh
- 3:23well, you need to slow down. You need to, like, not take on
- 3:27so much. And when we put this farm out
- 3:29here and was like, you know, now that you're getting older, don't
- 3:33you want to, like, take a break? Don't you want to just rest?
- 3:37Why would you want to be working on a farm?
- 3:39Why would you want to be doing all this work?
- 3:41Don't you just want to take a break?
- 3:43And the answer is, hell, no, I don't want to take a break.
- 3:46I absolutely love this. But.
- 3:48I had to challenge the belief of, oh, when you get older, you
- 3:51have to be set up to retire. Oh, you have to take time and
- 3:54just, you know, do this and that to me.
- 3:58While it sounds wonderful for some people, for me that sounds
- 4:01like a living hell. So challenging that belief,
- 4:05very, very important for me. I've joked around and I've said
- 4:08this before, but it really is kind of serious in my head.
- 4:11I grew up when the band Def Leppard was very, very popular
- 4:15and they had a song and a line in one of the songs was it's
- 4:19better to burn out than fade away.
- 4:20And I actually believe that. I do not plan on leaving this
- 4:24planet with anything left in me. I'm going to spend every bit of
- 4:28the creativity, the imagination, the connection, the teaching.
- 4:32I am leaving it. On the table.
- 4:34So I do not see myself, quote UN quote, winding down.
- 4:37I see myself getting more and more propelled forward, and that
- 4:42is exciting to me. That wakes me up.
- 4:45That gives me something. Creating a legacy, doing
- 4:47something that gives you a purpose and a reason to live.
- 4:51And you have to challenge your beliefs about what you want.
- 4:54And don't worry about what anybody else thinks.
- 4:56It's. Know what anybody else thinks?
- 4:58And I would be using the potty word if I didn't know who was
- 5:00listening in your car right now. So I'm telling you, it is
- 5:05absolutely imperative to your mental wellbeing to challenge
- 5:09your beliefs on a regular basis because it is like fall
- 5:12cleaning. My friends get in there and do
- 5:14it. Take out the ones that don't
- 5:15serve you. Tell the others, thank you.
- 5:18We're not believing that anymore.
- 5:19Thank you. That's something that we don't,
- 5:21you know, subscribe to anymore. You know, we always have
- 5:24subscriptions. We sign up for them.
- 5:26We try them out. And when they suck, we get rid
- 5:28of them. And then we have those like
- 5:30Master class where we say, wow, that was a really great
- 5:33subscription for the year. And you know what?
- 5:34I'm gonna do it again. And I have had it now I think
- 5:38three or four years, and I've never regretted having it, not
- 5:40once. So buy into something and enjoy
- 5:44the heck out of it. But buy into them, challenge
- 5:47your beliefs and go for it. Because I'll promise you it will
- 5:51make you a happier person. Have a blessed day, my friends,
- 5:55and I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.
