- 0:24Oh man, it's been a doozy, but congratulations you have made it to
- 0:28the end of the week. Today is frad Day, December fifteenth, twenty
- 0:34twenty three. Welcome inside the treehouse. Time to leave your worries outside.
- 0:39Join me Daniel Malley along with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma as we dive fully
- 0:45into this beautiful end of the week, almost of the holidays, so close
- 0:52to a Christmas break. We can taste it and it tastes like peppermint bark
- 0:59and for me, South Florida, which is an odd combination, and I
- 1:03don't recommend it. What is it? What is it like? Stale urine
- 1:07would be the other part of taste of Florida. There is that, There
- 1:14is that, there's it's like just that's all I've I would like to point
- 1:19out I have never smoked meth. I've never been around anybody that smoked meth.
- 1:23But visiting Florida here as many times as I have in recent years,
- 1:27especially the southern tip of the Miami area, it does seem to have an
- 1:33air of of myth about it, sort of like an air freshener, but
- 1:36it's kind of having the opposite effect. Yeah, and then there's a there's
- 1:41the whole uh support, So it's all the cruises go out of there.
- 1:44So now you have all the cruise people, uh and they usually stay for
- 1:47a couple of days forward, you know, before the cruise and then after,
- 1:49and so you have that mix of people and then the locals, and
- 1:53then you got South South Beach, which if you if you talk about Miami,
- 1:57that's what everybody thinks of is one small part of Miami. Everybody.
- 2:02That's not the part I've ever been to one because I'm not a douchebag,
- 2:06and so therefore that doesn't interest me. Right. The problem is the rest
- 2:10of Miami that I have some experience with with you know, having to go
- 2:15to Florida and ship things to the islands like we're doing now. Yeah,
- 2:20the other the underbelly of Miami is is not is not better than the doucheyness
- 2:25of South Beach. Like Trey and I were talking a little bit on the
- 2:30football podcast about how I can understand how you know, the Dolphins can be
- 2:36kind of bipolar because the city's kind of bipolar. It's got some cool stuff,
- 2:39but it got some stuff. I will say this though, in the
- 2:45area where we have stayed now for the second time, which is kind of
- 2:50around the airport. The traffic sucks, The roads are making absolutely no sense.
- 2:55The people that drive here, that's seemingly like most places that are too
- 2:59conje don't seem to really know what they're doing either. But but there's a
- 3:04place called Bryson's. It's an Irish pub and it's it's I don't know,
- 3:07like maybe two miles from this best Western where we're staying right now. The
- 3:13best chicken wings we've ever had. Really so so, on one hand,
- 3:17we're in the middle of a trash heap, which, by the way,
- 3:20I feel like I counted four or five landfills between Saint Augustine, Florida and
- 3:27Miami, which seems like a lot, but I guess since it's Florida anyway.
- 3:32It's just it's an interesting thing to find a gym of a place inside
- 3:37of a trash heap. It's like, Okay, the bad news is and
- 3:39in the middle of a trash heap that is the south tip of Florida,
- 3:44the good news is found the best wings I've ever had in my life.
- 3:46Wow? Did and how did we find this place? We found it last
- 3:51year got it okay, So it just went on like bars near me or
- 3:54chicken wings near me, something like that. That's exactly what it was.
- 3:58Thank you Google, say you came up with Florida's next slogan and the Football
- 4:04Show, which was I forget already Florida. You don't know speaking of that,
- 4:12how was the Football Show? I missed it. I'm sorry about that.
- 4:15It's good. No worries. You know, it's been a weird schedule
- 4:17this week with me traveling and trying to figure out everything. It was good.
- 4:20The one thing I will say though, I had a pretty good line
- 4:25in my head as Trey and I were doing the Football Show, but I
- 4:28never found a way to kind of steer it back to it. I'm just
- 4:30going to force it on you guys now. And that was we were talking
- 4:34about how in order to really have success against the Eagles, what any team
- 4:42need to do. But this is what the Cowboys did, and it's obviously
- 4:44what the forty nine ers did the week before, and that is you got
- 4:47to get on them early. Because the Eagles are not really their offense is
- 4:51not exactly designed to come from behind. It's more designed to get a lead
- 4:58and hold it wear you down. Sure. And the thought I had about
- 5:01thirty seconds after I said that during the Football show, I thought, okay,
- 5:06so playing the Eagles is kind of like a gang bang. What you
- 5:10want to do is you want to get on them early. You don't want
- 5:17to be near the end of the line because they're very difficult to come from
- 5:25behind. So what you need to do is get on them early when things
- 5:30are cleaner, not a situation where you want to grind the clock down.
- 5:33What you're saying, No, this is not the long game. This is
- 5:38where you want to get in and get out. So you don't want to
- 5:42be sloppy seconds with the Eagles. No, no, no, you don't
- 5:46because no one wants to come after the Jaguars or the forty nine ers,
- 5:55those older men those yeah, anything that will tear it up, or or
- 6:01like the forty nine ers. You don't want you know, you don't want
- 6:03to be behind some old men sifting for gold. And you definitely don't want
- 6:09to followed the giant. And I love all that happened in your head in
- 6:16thirty seconds. Somehow I couldn't find a way to steer the conversation back to
- 6:21her. But here we are we're able to do it here, and that
- 6:24makes me happy now and it makes me appreciate this Friday all the time.
- 6:29That's amazing. Oh my god, that's fanatic. I was watching. If
- 6:31you guys get a chance to like watch any I don't know if it's any
- 6:34team, but if you watch the recap, if after the game, if
- 6:39you go on YouTube, the Eagles will have their whole little broadcasting team that
- 6:42will recap the game. And it's very pro Eagles, even in a loss.
- 6:47They're like, you know, it looked really good. But and they
- 6:50said this, and they go, had we not fumbled the ball three times?
- 6:54And I was like, fumbled? No, no, no, I
- 6:57don't know how they I don't know if that's what you call it there,
- 6:59but here we call it stripping. It called that taking it from you,
- 7:02Yeah, which is what we did. Yeah, no, I I I've
- 7:05distinctly remember that that Stephan Gilmour ripping the ball out thing. It was not
- 7:10a that guy stepped on a lego and then threw the ball down in sheer
- 7:14afin. No, Stephan Gilmour reached in and grabbed the ball and took it
- 7:18from him like it owed him money. That's how it's supposed to happen,
- 7:23and so I could see as an Eagles fan, he'd be like, well,
- 7:26you know, if he hadn't a fumble, blah blah blah. Yeah,
- 7:28mm hmm, yeah, it's there. It took that. Yeah.
- 7:30It was their sports caster, their newscast that does the sports. There's three
- 7:34of them, and I'm like, well, when you know when one guy
- 7:36that were just kind of look at each other and one lady goes, why
- 7:39didn't you start? He goes, I mean we looked really good. And
- 7:42I was like, oh, okay, well the score doesn't reflect that number
- 7:45one. And uh. According to the very astute analysis by the little blonde
- 7:50girl I saw the next morning, her parents r at a restaurant. I
- 7:58don't know where this happened, but there was enough Eagles fans in this place
- 8:03to where they sent this cute little blonde girl to the tables of the Eagles
- 8:07fans and she went up to them and just would say Cowboys by twenty and
- 8:11then go running back to her parents. Oh wow. And to their credit,
- 8:15the Eagles fans did not murder her, which I thought they would have.
- 8:18I thought that was gonna be the end of the story. Was the
- 8:20the time the funeral was going to be. I think that outside the stadium,
- 8:26it definitely would have had a different a different ending. Instead, it
- 8:30might have been it was inside an Applebee's or something. So maybe they always
- 8:33yes, that'd be different than that's the stadium. Two dollars. Margarite is
- 8:43going to make everyone make some good decisions. All I'm saying is it was
- 8:50adorable, And maybe it was because the way she said it it was kind
- 8:54of sweet, which, if we're being honest, that's how Texans are.
- 8:58It's sort of like the coming up to you and saying, oh, bless
- 9:01your heart. Yeah, it sounds nice. The look in the eye is
- 9:05is you know, genuine with concern, But we all know the reality is
- 9:11when a textan says bless your heart, it's them calling you just e f
- 9:15and stupid. Yeah, I mean that's that little girl's lucky. I would
- 9:20still contend that, like they didn't have any D cell batteries at the table,
- 9:24they probably would have them. It'd be the one episode where we're not
- 9:30looking for like a foster home for a dog, like we have a blonde
- 9:35who likes the yell at Eagles fans. She was orphaned yesterday they killed her
- 9:39family. It was interesting though, because I will say this, it was
- 9:45such a it's a quick, wonderful snapshot of Eagles fans children versus Cowboys fans
- 9:52children. Right, yeah, so you got what seems to be in good
- 9:56natured fun. Cowboys fans take their adorable little daughter, blond and cute,
- 10:03you know, eventual cowboys cheerleader type, and send her to the tables and
- 10:07they just tell her cowboys by twenty just say that to them. And then
- 10:11she walks back and it's cute and it's sweet and all. Yeah, and
- 10:15she doesn't get murdered at whatever restaurant. This was clearly You're right, Trey
- 10:20was not Applebee's because the Margerita would have a different situation. But like two
- 10:26weeks prior when the Bills I believe it was visited Philadelphia, there was video
- 10:35of a little boy outside the stadium. I say, little boy is probably
- 10:37like eight or nine years old, so older than this little girl. Eight
- 10:41or nine year old boy walks up to a Buffalo Bills fan outside the stadium
- 10:46after the game and reaches out his hand as if to say, hey,
- 10:52good game, and the Bills fan, being from upstate New York and polite
- 10:56with manners. He's like, oh my god, a nice Eagles fan.
- 10:58So he reads he's his hand out to shake the kid's hand, saying,
- 11:01yeah, good game, you guys did well, and instead the little Eagles
- 11:03brat took his hand back and then flipped the dude off right in his face.
- 11:09Wow. That is that's why condoms. Uh, that's why you have
- 11:16those. That is that's yeah, I would have I don't know, can
- 11:20you can you it's not India, India, you can hit a kid and
- 11:22it's okay. I think there's a I think at that point the guy would
- 11:28have been justified because I think the rest of the planet would have been like,
- 11:31solely fine, it's an Eagles fan. Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 11:33Like that's what you have to say, Like, you gotta get to the
- 11:35judge. Uh so you have to get booked in, you have to get
- 11:39arrested. And then when the judge is like, how do you plead not
- 11:41guilty by the reason that he was an Eagles fan dismissed And not only that,
- 11:48but we're going to charge his kid as an adult for you know,
- 11:50some type of disorderly conduct. I mean, bills fans are knowing to get
- 11:58a little too. So I don't know. You know that kid, I
- 12:01could have been super plexed off the table. You know, the buffet table.
- 12:07But have you have you been to? Have you either of you been
- 12:09to Buffalo? No, that's all they have is sports, Like there's it's
- 12:15a very it's a very industrial town. There's not a lot to do,
- 12:18so it's a lot it's sports. So uh when they get routed, they
- 12:22have no other outlet. It's not like everybody's like, you know where the
- 12:24best strip clubs are? Buffalo? Now you have that image. I bet
- 12:33the Google reviews on the applebe's in Buffalo, although I wouldn't mind reading the
- 12:43review for the strip club, like like, isn't it New York City?
- 12:48The main one that Stern always talked about was Scores. Yes in Buffalo?
- 12:54Is it is it Underscores? I bet there's you're listening to the Treehouse.

- 15:16three Cook DFW. I take three three COOKDFW or cookdfw dot com. Thanks
- 15:24to our friends at COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration. And I believe we had a
- 15:31couple of shirts from the roadshow leftover tray because Kerrie Cook and Daniel Cook were
- 15:37asking since they were out of town they couldn't make it, asking if there
- 15:41were a couple that we could hang on to them. I think we had
- 15:43a couple leftovers, so I said, sure we have. Yeah, like
- 15:48we pretty much sold that everything. I think we have one XL and one
- 15:50double XL. That's it all right, Well they're gonna be sleeping in roomy
- 15:56shirts. Then yeah, that merged one quick. So that was nice to
- 16:00see, is how fast the merch got bought up because we were kind of
- 16:07I know, we were worried, like how many do we order what are
- 16:08we going to sell? We've had this problem in the past where we've ordered
- 16:11too many and then they're starting to plug them on every show, and so
- 16:17yeah, this was nice to see. So yeah, especially because and not
- 16:21just because, okay, are we going to sell enough shirts based on how
- 16:23many we order, but also because we also had other stuff available like the
- 16:26cups and the stickers and other things, so you don't want to have too
- 16:30many things pile on top of people. Yeah, So yeah, it overall
- 16:37went well. The road show was a lot of fun. I've found out
- 16:42from the Warren Center that the toys that everyone brought at the event and the
- 16:48ones that were purchased on their Amazon wish list virtually for those that couldn't make
- 16:52it to the road show, are already having a huge impact on families because
- 16:59they had already taken up one collection and because of prices up on everything across
- 17:07the board that unfortunately includes toys, and so for families that are, you
- 17:12know, being hit by hard times, that makes it even worse, which
- 17:19is something to think about, whether it's purely inflation or also knowing that there
- 17:26are companies that are just straight up using inflation as a reason to just raise
- 17:30prices on things and say it's because of inflation. Someone put it very eloquently
- 17:36the other day online that I saw, and that was one of the most
- 17:41classic Christmas tales we have, is that of the Christmas Carol Scrooge. The
- 17:47whole point of that is to get an old rich man to treat his employees
- 17:53just a little bit better. Yeah, and not be so goddamn greedy.
- 18:00Yeah, but it's a lesson that clearly not everyone has really learned. Or
- 18:06just imagine being Imagine this, and I know this has happened because I believe
- 18:11it's the Dallas Theater Center does a Christmas Carol every year and they have forever.
- 18:18Imagine a CEO of a Dallas company going and watching a Christmas Carol and
- 18:26getting all warm and fuzzy with the Christmas spirit and go, oh, what
- 18:29a great story. And then the next morning he goes on an earnings call
- 18:33and tells everyone, Hey, we're raising prices on everything because we can.
- 18:37It's just sad. So anyway, my point is those toys that everyone donated
- 18:41are already having a huge impact, and so we thank you for those who
- 18:45bought and or brought toys for the kids at the Warrant Center, So thank
- 18:48you very much. Yeah, I wanted to help, but I'm also lazy.
- 18:52So when Tara put up the wish list that you could just buy on
- 18:53Amazon, I was like, okay, this is the this is easiest thinking
- 18:57the world. I was like, click, click click, I'm finished.
- 19:02Yeah, that reminds me. I need to thank you both for the gifts
- 19:06that you gave me. Raj. The Reese's Peanut butter cups with the Reese's
- 19:11puff cereal inside pretty good. I love texture in things. Probably those make
- 19:18it a little bit sweeter than the regular Recei's peanut butter cups, and it
- 19:22made for excellent road trip food in our in our van driving across the southern
- 19:26half of the United States. And uh Trey the Irish whiskey that I still
- 19:32love the fact that, despite the fact that you're over seven years sober,
- 19:36you have no problem going into a liquor store and buying liquor for your friend
- 19:38who obviously has a drinking problem. So I appreciate it. Do you enjoy
- 19:42it? I did as much as I could because it's it was a big
- 19:48bottle and and I can't our bag that we checked was already too heavy,
- 19:53so it was a little too big to put to put on the plane.
- 20:00So I enjoyed you drove to Florida. I did, but that's a big
- 20:07bottle of whiskey and it was going to be difficult to fly it to the
- 20:11island. So I gave it to Jerry. Wow, but I did try
- 20:18it, and it is fantastic. So you tried something and then regifted it.
- 20:23I didn't actually gifted. I actually go forward. I gave it to
- 20:26someone in need. No, that's Jerry still works in radio. Trust me,
- 20:32he's in need. I saw the transaction. Actually, Dan gave it
- 20:37to Jerry and then realized he would look like an even bigger ass if he
- 20:41hadn't even tried it, so then he had made Jerry give him a sip.
- 20:45Wow, that's not the way I remember it, Tray. Yeah,
- 20:48Well, the fact that you remember it at all is good. That is
- 20:57that's just sad. Here's what happened. I told Jerry, I said,
- 21:03I'm gonna give this to you for safekeeping. So next time I'm in town,
- 21:06I'm gonna enjoy this lovely gift that Trey gave me. So this is
- 21:10not yours. To consume and and enjoy. I thought you can have a
- 21:15little bit just you know, for you know, for the handling of it.
- 21:18But that is my gift from my friend Trey, and I plan on
- 21:22enjoying it the next time I'm in town. First of all, yeah,
- 21:26I don't know what I would be more disappointed of in is if someone related
- 21:33to this show other than me, if you gave them a bottle of whiskey
- 21:37and it wasn't drink, that would probably be the most shocking thing. If
- 21:41anyone are you know, involved with the show that so so yeah you really
- 21:47think you know you're from now Jerry's going to have that bottle? Yes,
- 21:52no, and here and here's why and here is why because Jerry has a
- 21:59set of morals that you wouldn't expect from someone that we make fun of for
- 22:04basically being a you know, a vagrant, you know, murderer, but
- 22:10he really does. So It's like, you tell Jerry to do something,
- 22:12he will absolutely do it. And if you say not to do something,
- 22:17he will absolutely not do that thing. So I believe I believe when I
- 22:22told him you were not to consume this but to save it for me,
- 22:25he will do it, which is interesting because you said just a second ago,
- 22:27when I said you gave that gift away, you were like, I
- 22:30gave it to somebody in need. So it's two conflicting statements all in the
- 22:36same segment. So you could have waited until now. Did you go to
- 22:38journalism school between the road show and now? I'm just saying, I've been
- 22:44watching a lot of courtroom TV, and you just basically nullified your own statement
- 22:48with your own statement. This is why you never testify for yourself in a
- 22:52courtroom. But I, as a good friend, thoroughly enjoy it. It
- 22:59is very nice. I never had that one before, and it's, uh,
- 23:03it is smooth. I don't know how much you con assumed of it
- 23:06then, but uh, it's more than it's a it's a treat. I
- 23:11will say that, like for for other drinks and whatever you have in around
- 23:14the house, like that one. Like I watched that, Like I drink
- 23:17a couple of glasses of that after the Cowboys won. That was the nice
- 23:21little I'm glad you enjoyed yours. I did not give mine away to somebody
- 23:27else directly in front of the person who then gave it to me. So
- 23:33uh, but Dan and his defense was trying to be slick. I've just
- 23:41never heard of anybody read gifting directly after receiving the gift. Well, look,
- 23:48we were, we were hitting the road the next morning. Time was
- 23:51of the yeses. But again, like Tray said, you were in a
- 23:56car, why didn't you just put it in a car, because because I
- 24:00wasn't going to be able to drink all of it between Dallas and Miami.
- 24:07What that's like? That's when you I object, I object your honor.
- 24:22The witness is full of shit. You're in the tree Visit us online at
- 24:33treehouseonair dot com. Let's talk to Daniel Cook from cook DFW Roofing and Restoration.
- 24:45The holidays are upon us. It's almost time to break it all down
- 24:48for the year and enjoy time with friends and family and if I'm being honest,
- 24:53watching some really fun holiday movies. So I'm curious, Daniel, what
- 24:57is your favorite Christmas movie? Comedy wise? And just because of the age
- 25:07I was when this movie came out, it has to be National Lampoon's Christmas
- 25:11Vacation. Amen. It can't go wrong with that one. That's a classic,
- 25:15beyond classic, And I mean it came out in eighty nine. It
- 25:19was just a great time. And I love Chevy Chase. I can't I
- 25:23think what he does and how he acts and his ability of making stuff funny.
- 25:30It is just it's a really great, great movie. You can sit
- 25:33there and watch that multiple times. And what is your wife's favorite Christmas movie?
- 25:37Same one or different? You know she's I catch her watching those Hallmark
- 25:41channels, so you know, I catch her and then you know, you
- 25:48know how all Hallmark movies are. You know, single woman or single man
- 25:53comes into town, finds another person for some reason that was single, and
- 26:00and they casually go to dinner or have a drink and they figure out that
- 26:04they just fall in love with each other and the movie ends. So you've
- 26:08got the formula. It sounds me like you're ready to start producing your own
- 26:11holiday Hallmark movies. The only thing I think we need to do is somehow
- 26:17incorporate it into like roofing and remodeling, so like they meet a roof for
- 26:21a remodeler and they could be part of the you know, cook DFW team
- 26:25and they figure out that there you go. Now that I think that would
- 26:29actually be the sequel to the movie, because like, you know, The
- 26:30first one is small town love Christmas thing, and the second one is they've
- 26:34been married for a year now and now they got to get a new roof
- 26:37or the roof caved in from a hailstorm and they got to not only get
- 26:41a new roof, but also redo the bathroom. And that's where, yeah,
- 26:44you're right, that's where it comes in. And that's where Cook DFW
- 26:47Roofing and Restoration has become a major player in the Hallmark holiday scene. So
- 26:52give them a call eight three to three cook DFW or cookdfw dot com.
- 26:56Let's get Jaqueline from Brooks Plumbing into the treehouse now. Their phone number for
- 27:00any and all of you are plumbing wants and needs is two one four three

- 27:07Since it is, you know, the holidays, when things completely slow down
- 27:11in time for a couple of days off. Is there a certain Christmas movie
- 27:14that is your absolute go to, your favorite, the best of all time?
- 27:17Of course, the standard answer for me is going to be Christmas Story
- 27:19because that just warms my little heart. There's so many good one miners in
- 27:25that movie, and I love that movie, but I'll tell you every year
- 27:29when I decorate the tree. There's a very old Christmas movie. It's got
- 27:33Humphrey Bogart in it, and it's called We're No Angels. And there's a
- 27:36couple I think a couple remix, but We're No Angels the original with Humphrey
- 27:40Bogart. It's him and two other convicts who have escaped from Alcatraz prison on
- 27:45Christmas Eve and they are looking to rob somebody to make some money to take
- 27:49a ship off of Alcatraz Island and they fall in with a very nice family.
- 27:53It doesn't have a strong Christmas vibe, but it's because it's on an
- 27:56island, so that should resonate with you. Maybe you should watch it.
- 28:00But it's based around Christmas and the characters are easy to love. So if
- 28:06you like old movies, We're No Angels. But if you like the tongue
- 28:10in cheek humor and you want to get to know my family really well,
- 28:14it's definitely Christmas story because the dynamics of that family is speak speaks to my
- 28:18family. I love that movie gets you right in the nostalgia, doesn't it.
- 28:22And I'll tell you so. It was shot in Cleveland, which is
- 28:25where my dad's family is from originally, which is part of the reason why
- 28:26we love it so much. But that house, the Christmas Story House,
- 28:30is still up with all the original furniture and you can take tours of it.
- 28:33So if you ever go to Cleveland, go go to the house.
- 28:36It's super cute. That's very cool. Give Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing a call
- 28:40for any and all of your plumbing wants and needs, especially right after the
- 28:42holidays, because as we've said before, it's going to happen. You're going
- 28:45to have friends over, you're going to have family over, and they're going
- 28:48to do something to ruin your plumbing. So give Jaqueline a call. They
- 28:49can help you take care of it and do so, probably not in a
- 28:53pink bunny outfit, but they'll still they'll show what I'll give you. I'll
- 28:56give you a twenty five percent discount if you show up if you're in a
- 29:00ink bunny cost in when we get there. Twenty five percent. Oh okay,
- 29:03I was actually talking about like Oliver or one of your wrangler, one
- 29:07of your guys, showing up as the pink bunny. But if a customer
- 29:08does it, then you want to give them twenty five percent, then hell
- 29:11yeah, yes, but they've got to be able to willing to stand in
- 29:14front of the truck with the plumber and take a photo. So yeah,
- 29:17twenty five percent off if you wear the bunny outfit. Give Brooks Plumbing a

- 30:03you know, you'll be calling calling us after your everything's clogged. So give

- 30:15Com. Trey, Uh, since you're on the recording side of things,
- 30:19you have that new sounder ready or do you want me to fire off on
- 30:22my end? Ummm, yeah, I think you're probably gonna have to do
- 30:29it on your end because no problem, because it uh, it's not a
- 30:37Friday without birthdays. Today is Friday, December fifteenth, twenty twenty three.
- 30:45Birthdays today. We are looking at try and scroll and see the actual good,
- 30:52familiar names on here. Atlanta haym Is thirty two from the Show's The
- 30:59Wire, Want You Back? And Days Are Gone? Also, Stefania Owen
- 31:03Turns twenty six played Hugh Loori's daughter Nicole on the Hulu series Chance. I
- 31:08might also remember her as Beth in Crampis, which I never saw. Crampis?
- 31:12Did you guys ever see that? It was? I guess it's the
- 31:18the horror Christmas movie that came out I don't know, like ten twelve years
- 31:22ago, something like that. It is one of those I intended to see,
- 31:25but I just haven't, so I don't even know if it's any good.
- 31:26How How does that sound? How does the it's just called crampis like,
- 31:32how does how does that trailer come across the screen to you? And
- 31:34you're like, you know what, I'm inclined to see this? Like no,
- 31:37Like, well, number one, it's Christmas themed and I'll watch I'll
- 31:40watch a lot of first of all, you know, I'll watch almost anything
- 31:42once and if it's a Christmas theme film with a horror twinch to it or
- 31:51an action thing to it, like a Dieheart, I'm intrigued by that.
- 31:55Like the movie last year that came out with David Harbor, who played you
- 31:59know, chief in Stranger Things. I think it was called Violent Night he
- 32:02plays Do you guys see this? It was he plays you know who David
- 32:07Harbor is, right, you know, from Stranger Things. So he plays
- 32:13Santa Claus and John Leguizamo plays the head of a mercenary group who takes a
- 32:20very wealthy family hostage and in their mansion on Christmas Eve because they want money.
- 32:27And at the heart of this is a little girl who is trying to
- 32:31run and hide from the bad guy, sort of like home Alone. And
- 32:36Santa happens across this because he's there to deliver gifts and he is not having
- 32:43the terrorist Christmas. Turns out this version of Santa Claus wasn't always you know,
- 32:50elves and you know, you know, Christmas dust and cookies, and
- 32:57turns out this guy was like a Viking warrior before he became Santa. And
- 33:04and so Santa goes full Christmas on the terrorists in the film is called Violent
- 33:07Night. I enjoyed it. And shocker what you just said. If you
- 33:13left out the names, I would have guessed that, you know, Steven
- 33:15Sigall made a holiday movie which I also would have seen a very London Christmas.
- 33:29It just sounds like a Steve Santa, former Navy seal in a in
- 33:36a Christmas to kill. Yeah, but there was there there There was.
- 33:42There was one scene especially where uh, this little girl who's trying to hide
- 33:45from the terrorists. It's I don't know if you guys did this as as
- 33:49kids like I did, but if you ever saw Home Alone and you think
- 33:52about the actual physical damage all those traps would have on a human body,
- 33:59Joe Pesci, Dan Stern, they'd have been dead somewhere, you know by
- 34:01the third pratfall right in this one, there's a couple of traps that this
- 34:07little girl sets their home alone style, but you see the actual effects.
- 34:12It's not this slapstick stuff where they can get up and pull the tooth out
- 34:15and type of thing. It's no, this dude took a bowling ball to
- 34:17the face and he's just dead. Wow. Okay. I just want to
- 34:22be the I just want to be the people who produced Violent Night and or
- 34:28Crampus when they get the revenue report and they're like, oh cool, so
- 34:31one person in Texas watched this, that's good to know. There's another new
- 34:37one this year. It's called Silent Night. The guy I always forget his
- 34:42name, he was in the two Suicide Squad movies. He was also the
- 34:45one who starred as a RoboCop and the RoboCop remake. I think it thinks
- 34:50Joeled or something. And there's one where he's it's an action Christmas thing.
- 34:54It's called Silent Night. And it's like, okay, well I want to
- 34:57see that. Okay, it's Diehard's fault. No, No, I think
- 35:02it's a Oklahoma's fault. How is where I'm born have anything to do with
- 35:09with my action Christmas genre affection? Like I just I just assume, like
- 35:15wherever you were born, Like that's the paper that reviews movies like you guys
- 35:17got to go see Crampis. Like that's like, that's what pops into my
- 35:22head. I never read the review for Crampis or die Hard inside the Bartlesville
- 35:28Examiner Enterprise, but now I kind of want to. Like, I'm curious,
- 35:36you know, because you always look up to see what a movie's Rotten
- 35:38Tomatoes score is. But now I'm kind of curious what my old hometown of
- 35:43Bartlesville, Oklahoma thinks about the movies I love. Okay, I got I'll
- 35:47find it and uh and then well we'll we'll read it next time. I
- 35:53just want to see. I'm just surprised they have a movie critic in Bortl.
- 36:00But I still, you know, I picture that Bartersville still has a
- 36:02video rental place where you can get vhs and beta out now Crampest, but
- 36:15you can't rent it because your beta version of Diehard is like twenty four years
- 36:22late and you didn't rewind. We don't got nothing to rewind. It's just
- 36:29Dale in the back with his fingers running the wheel or waiting on the pencil
- 36:34to come in. Look. I was born there, and I'm happy to
- 36:44dunk on Oklahoma any chance I get, but from you too. It's starting
- 36:47to feel personal. I really am curious if the Bartles of Examiner Enterprise even
- 37:02has a media critic, or if they just like copy and pasted from the
- 37:07Tulsa World or something. All Right, it's just the now playing at the
- 37:10drive through or drive in. It should be a drive through Bartles, the
- 37:22localhome home to the only drive through movie theaters, right on seventy five.
- 37:35All right, I'm gonna go. I'll see you, see you next time
- 37:39in the tree house.
