- 1:01Speaker 3: How hi?
- 1:01Speaker 4: Y'all?
- 1:03Speaker 3: I okay, just okay?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Mm hmmm, oh you drinking a.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Good cush cush? What now? What was insane? Oh? My
- 1:21Speaker 3: own's saliva because I've been coughing all day drinking. I
- 1:26Speaker 3: was sick last week and I still have a cough,
- 1:29Speaker 3: so I just keep getting a bunch of fucking flagming
- 1:32Speaker 3: saliva in my mouth.
- 1:35Speaker 2: So where are you drinking? I didn't hear you.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Water.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm being at Chad and I'm drinking Monster Energy white Chad. Chad,
- 1:49Speaker 2: I said, Kyle, Did I say Chad? I don't want
- 1:52Speaker 2: the same difference or no?
- 1:53Speaker 4: No?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm doing I'm drinking at Chad. But a
- 1:56Speaker 2: Kyle would be the black can with the green one,
- 1:58Speaker 2: the regular one, if you will. That's Kyle's all right,
- 2:03Speaker 2: let's get into it. It finally happened. This is the
- 2:07Speaker 2: episode that finally took me to get off my hiatus.
- 2:12Speaker 2: The news that happened yesterday. Some would say our answers
- 2:18Speaker 2: have been our answers. Some would say our prayers have
- 2:21Speaker 2: been answered. Some would say yesterday has been the greatest
- 2:27Speaker 2: day since the acquisition in twenty twelve. Some would say
- 2:30Speaker 2: nothing's going to change. Kathleen Kennedy is allegedly gone at
- 2:37Speaker 2: the end of this year, even though we've said it
- 2:42Speaker 2: what two years, have been talking about this.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Now, According to according to my sources, no, let me
- 2:54Speaker 4: get to let me get let me get this straight.
- 2:56Speaker 2: According to reports, Lucasfilm boss Aathleen Kennedy expected to retire
- 3:02Speaker 2: at the end of this year. The prolific producer has
- 3:05Speaker 2: proceeded over the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, threw
- 3:09Speaker 2: ups and downs since twenty twelve. Kennedy joined Lucasfilm in
- 3:17Speaker 2: twenty twelve as a co chair alongside Star Wars creator
- 3:21Speaker 2: George Lucas, and shortly a few months later, like they
- 3:24Speaker 2: didn't know this is gonna happen anyway, took the reins
- 3:28Speaker 2: after Dizzey paid four billion dollars for the company and
- 3:31Speaker 2: Lucas exited, which this article forgets to mention that Lucas
- 3:35Speaker 2: handpicked her to be the end of Lucasfilm, as that
- 3:38Speaker 2: was part of the deal he made with Disney she
- 3:44Speaker 2: relaunched the franchise. I'm gonna say my piece first, because
- 3:53Speaker 2: I think you've been more outspoken than I have, or
- 3:56Speaker 2: not even more critical over the night. I have been
- 4:00Speaker 2: not as critical because all right about this? Do I
- 4:06Speaker 2: think this is a good thing? Yes, because sometimes change
- 4:10Speaker 2: is good. Have I been as critical as many as
- 4:13Speaker 2: most Star Wars fans?
- 4:14Speaker 1: No?
- 4:15Speaker 2: Why as Renee and I are Clickie Clack sorry, and
- 4:17Speaker 2: I have said they could literally present us a shit sandwich,
- 4:20Speaker 2: and somehow Clickeri Clack and I will try to find
- 4:22Speaker 2: a way to justify it, but after a while even
- 4:26Speaker 2: we'll start to not like the taste of it. I
- 4:31Speaker 2: made no secret on this podcast that while I enjoyed
- 4:33Speaker 2: act Like more than most, some of the things on
- 4:36Speaker 2: there that I did not like I really did not like. No,
- 4:40Speaker 2: I had no problem with the Twins.
- 4:42Speaker 3: No.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I had no problem with the witches and shit. The
- 4:45Speaker 2: problem I had was the fact that like one episode
- 4:48Speaker 2: or for one thing, and one episodeill be twenty minutes,
- 4:50Speaker 2: another one be an hour long. But it was just
- 4:53Speaker 2: the fact that like they essentially rushed three or it
- 4:57Speaker 2: would start off slow, and they were three episodes of
- 5:00Speaker 2: shit into one. That was my big issue with it.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So essentially, what's that not plotting, pacing, That's the word
- 5:06Speaker 2: I'm looking for. For every good thing that happened with
- 5:11Speaker 2: her or any release product, there'd be two things that
- 5:14Speaker 2: would come out that would get critically a claim or
- 5:16Speaker 2: critically panned. The issue I have with the regime was
- 5:24Speaker 2: for all the products they did release, there was three
- 5:28Speaker 2: times is more that we're canceled. And I know you
- 5:33Speaker 2: and I. We don't make movies, we don't make television shows,
- 5:36Speaker 2: we don't make productions. I do podcasting. That's it. I'm
- 5:39Speaker 2: trying to get the voice acting. I'm gonna start streaming.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to do that stuff. That's minuscule work compared
- 5:45Speaker 2: to making movies or TV shows. The problem is there's
- 5:51Speaker 2: more things to get canceled. The people realize the problem
- 5:53Speaker 2: is the stigma of Lucasfilm is that when something is
- 5:56Speaker 2: when somebody gets announced, expected to be canceled. Because when
- 6:01Speaker 2: whenever Marvel comes out and announces something, they announce it
- 6:05Speaker 2: because they have the full on intent to actually making it.
- 6:08Speaker 2: They have writers, producers, actors, all this signed up. While
- 6:12Speaker 2: with Lucasfilm they had an idea and maybe a director
- 6:18Speaker 2: and majory of it didn't happen. I'm not gonna go
- 6:22Speaker 2: if we have time, because we're not gonna do a
- 6:24Speaker 2: whole thing today. I can go down the list of
- 6:26Speaker 2: everything that happened, of all the things that have been
- 6:29Speaker 2: canceled stuff like that, but there are so many. You
- 6:33Speaker 2: can just look up Lucasfilm canceled projects over the last
- 6:36Speaker 2: things like okay, let me keep this clicking a collect
- 6:38Speaker 2: You're a friend of geirbal del Tour, right, big fan?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Did you know he's supposed to be a job of
- 6:43Speaker 2: the Hot Project?
- 6:45Speaker 3: He was or is he was?
- 6:49Speaker 2: See that's the problem. There are so many products that
- 6:52Speaker 2: have been canceled. That's not one of the ones like
- 6:54Speaker 2: in the in the in the in the like right
- 6:56Speaker 2: in front of you. Because the other ones that you
- 6:59Speaker 2: would think go right away, we're so so much promoted
- 7:03Speaker 2: and announced. It's like, whoa while the Garre del Tour one,
- 7:06Speaker 2: they did the right, they stay. They kind of made
- 7:07Speaker 2: a comment about it, but they didn't promote it like
- 7:10Speaker 2: they did the twenty eighty percent of other things had
- 7:13Speaker 2: been canceled.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Like Star Wars thirteen eleven.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Okay, so thirteen thirteen. They say that was a Bob
- 7:20Speaker 2: Biger call. No, that was that was a Lucas fault
- 7:22Speaker 2: because they canceled they removed Lucas arts. But yeah, for
- 7:26Speaker 2: every Mandalorian show that was, for every minde Larian season
- 7:29Speaker 2: that was made, there were three shows that were canceled.
- 7:32Speaker 2: For every Rise of Skywalker or hell, look at them,
- 7:36Speaker 2: look at the Disney sequel movies. I enjoy them a
- 7:39Speaker 2: lot more than most people. But if you watch those
- 7:42Speaker 2: movies or not, if you watch those movies, if you
- 7:44Speaker 2: just read about the productions, they did not have a plan.
- 7:48Speaker 2: There's a reason why jj Abrams directed the first one
- 7:51Speaker 2: and the third one, not the second one, because they
- 7:56Speaker 2: didn't have a plan. He wasn't even supposed to direct
- 8:00Speaker 2: the third one. That would be Colin Trevarro, the guy
- 8:02Speaker 2: who did the Jurassic World movies.
- 8:05Speaker 3: And I like everyone's like, oh, Trevor would have saved
- 8:08Speaker 3: the last one. But everyone hated his Jurassic World movies, right,
- 8:12Speaker 3: everyone loves his first Dressic World movies.
- 8:14Speaker 2: He's got worse and worse critic Well, the play Devil's
- 8:20Speaker 2: Advocate allegedly the script for what he was going.
- 8:22Speaker 3: To do with the third one. Everything okay, okay, but
- 8:30Speaker 3: allegedly that script is out there. I'm not gonna lie.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I've read it. The story is interesting. Video essays, the
- 8:37Speaker 2: story is interesting. It's an interesting story.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Everyone has a million dollar idea.
- 8:43Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But here's the thing. Here's the other I liked. I've
- 8:46Speaker 2: read scripts, okay, but here's the thing. You can read
- 8:49Speaker 2: It's like this. You can read a book, you can
- 8:51Speaker 2: read a script. Does it mean to look good on film?
- 8:55Speaker 3: Yeah, concepts are Trevor blah blah blah. Story. Look how
- 8:59Speaker 3: making it is? Like like, yeah, Dune is a dude
- 9:04Speaker 3: and the story of Dune is amazing. Sorry, does that
- 9:06Speaker 3: mean dude, nineteen eighty four a masterpiece? It's a cult classic, yes,
- 9:10Speaker 3: but like, let's be realistic here, nineteen eighty four dude
- 9:15Speaker 3: is you know, doesn't really hold up compared to the
- 9:17Speaker 3: new one.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I'm not a done guy, but I have a few friends.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I have a few friends who are done people, and
- 9:24Speaker 2: they're worried about the next week coming out because it's
- 9:26Speaker 2: supposed to be like the boring, the most boring shit, right,
- 9:30Speaker 2: Because that's where it's.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Get what I'm saying by like, yes, like you can
- 9:34Speaker 3: have great source material, but that doesn't always mean that
- 9:37Speaker 3: the final product is going to be it's good one
- 9:41Speaker 3: hundred percent, Like, like you have to have good production
- 9:44Speaker 3: in addition to good Uh what is this source material?
- 9:48Speaker 2: Right?
- 9:48Speaker 3: Like, there's plenty of movies and pl like look at Borderlands.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Amazing game Wiley were regarded Game, you know millions and
- 9:57Speaker 3: billions in sales. Look at the movie dog Ship.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I mean yeah, wait, wait, why why I mean, you
- 10:03Speaker 2: had Kevin Hart as your lead protagonist, and you didn't
- 10:06Speaker 2: have to be the comedic act. You had to be
- 10:07Speaker 2: like the Dwayne Johnson because you know that.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Spider Woman, spire Woman amazing comic material. And then we
- 10:14Speaker 3: get them like, don't don't say that name, I hate this,
- 10:19Speaker 3: should have, could have, would have and I and I've
- 10:21Speaker 3: and I've you know, I'll admit I've done that in
- 10:23Speaker 3: the past of like if only this director had done it,
- 10:25Speaker 3: or if only this person had done this, or what
- 10:28Speaker 3: I've done in the past. But I there's a track
- 10:31Speaker 3: record for those kind of people, and there's a reason
- 10:34Speaker 3: why I say, well, if this person would have done it,
- 10:36Speaker 3: would have come out great, because a they've had a
- 10:40Speaker 3: record of doing it, of doing you know, great work.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Be they're usually whenever whenever I say someone's would if
- 10:48Speaker 3: someone did with this or was in part of this,
- 10:50Speaker 3: it's because I think they fit well for the role,
- 10:52Speaker 3: because I've seen their work and you know it's something
- 10:57Speaker 3: that they're in their realm. But it's but this Trevor
- 11:02Speaker 3: guy again not saying Jrssic World was a bad movie.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I mean, it was an okay movie, but the rest
- 11:06Speaker 3: of them follow up or you know, mediocre movies.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Some would say they were not as enjoyed as the
- 11:12Speaker 2: first one he made.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Right, So I'm sure the movie, I'm sure if he
- 11:17Speaker 3: had produced it, and if he had produced the story
- 11:19Speaker 3: with how he had written it, and if he had
- 11:22Speaker 3: done everything he said would have done, I'm sure it
- 11:24Speaker 3: would have ended up great. But like anything in this world,
- 11:30Speaker 3: there's always people gonna they're gonna hate it. There's always
- 11:32Speaker 3: gonna people that are gonna love it. There people will
- 11:35Speaker 3: find something a bitch about it. So like we got
- 11:38Speaker 3: what we got? Was it what we all wanted to know?
- 11:41Speaker 3: When I first watched it, I cried because like it
- 11:43Speaker 3: was the best thing in the world to me at
- 11:44Speaker 3: the time. On reflection, I know, like it's very flawed
- 11:48Speaker 3: and it has a lot of things that I don't
- 11:50Speaker 3: like about it. I still enjoy it for what it is.
- 11:52Speaker 3: I wish this whole trilogy, you know, it didn't exactly exist,
- 11:56Speaker 3: but it exists. There's nothing I can do about it.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And now you a year ago, you would never sending
- 12:03Speaker 2: each other the Internet things where they're like, oh, they're
- 12:06Speaker 2: gonna reboot the Disney sequels series and does make hold
- 12:09Speaker 2: new movies if people actually buying into it, and like, Okay,
- 12:14Speaker 2: here's the thing people don't understand. See what you want
- 12:16Speaker 2: about Kathleen Kenny, don't even okay, don't even take her
- 12:19Speaker 2: accolades before Lucas, because she's a if Hollywood was a
- 12:23Speaker 2: Hall of Fame, she's a first bout.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, for sure. I mean she that work and
- 12:27Speaker 3: I'm not and I would never like what I would
- 12:30Speaker 3: never dare to say, like like she doesn't deserve to
- 12:33Speaker 3: be industry. She deserves to be in this industry. Like
- 12:36Speaker 3: if you read you read a biographer about her, if
- 12:38Speaker 3: you read like past stories about her, she's a fucking
- 12:42Speaker 3: go getter. She gets the job done. Now do I think.
- 12:46Speaker 2: She was the as a producer?
- 12:48Speaker 3: As a producer, however, which is the stuff that came
- 12:53Speaker 3: out during her reign. Of course, obviously this is not
- 12:55Speaker 3: all her. She's not. She's not in those she's not
- 12:58Speaker 3: in the story, she's not the right meetings, she's not
- 13:01Speaker 3: in the in the special effects meetings. She's not, or
- 13:03Speaker 3: maybe she is, but my point is, she's not you know,
- 13:06Speaker 3: handmaking this these shows, in these movies, but you know,
- 13:10Speaker 3: the direction of the company, in the direction of the
- 13:14Speaker 3: of the productions that come out of it is very
- 13:19Speaker 3: much influenced by her and her team and by the board.
- 13:22Speaker 3: And if during your reign, subpar stuff comes out, while
- 13:29Speaker 3: the last person who had the reins it was only
- 13:31Speaker 3: bangers after bangers, like you know, there's there's again. I'm
- 13:37Speaker 3: not I'm not exclusively blaming her for all the stuff
- 13:40Speaker 3: that has come out, all the or the sub part
- 13:42Speaker 3: stuff that has come out, but it's during her reign
- 13:45Speaker 3: and she had time to address those issues. And again
- 13:48Speaker 3: there has been amazing content that is coming out has
- 13:50Speaker 3: come out during her rain, during her time as president
- 13:54Speaker 3: of Lucasfilms. But when half your stuff are bangers and
- 14:00Speaker 3: have your stuff are stuff, we wish we could erase
- 14:04Speaker 3: our stuff for we wish we could erase from our
- 14:06Speaker 3: minds and wish never existed. You know, you can't be
- 14:11Speaker 3: like you did. Amazing you did, okay, and we appreciate
- 14:17Speaker 3: you keep putting in the work to keep Star Wars
- 14:19Speaker 3: alive and keep pushing out content, But we wish we
- 14:23Speaker 3: had there had been other decisions made. You know, where
- 14:25Speaker 3: there were in a story, whether it was characters, where
- 14:29Speaker 3: there was production, special effects, et cetera. I think during
- 14:33Speaker 3: her time different decisions could have been made, but ultimately
- 14:36Speaker 3: we have what we have, Kathleen. We're not trying to
- 14:40Speaker 3: say this and like, uh, go fuck yourself, but it's
- 14:43Speaker 3: like we are excited to see who who is the
- 14:48Speaker 3: next person to come in to take the mental and
- 14:50Speaker 3: what direction that person will take, uh with the with
- 14:54Speaker 3: the studio and with the you know, Star Wars in general.
- 14:57Speaker 2: We're very excited. I'm not gonna say that her run
- 15:00Speaker 2: as president as Lucas of Lucasfilm is like the Patriots
- 15:06Speaker 2: of Bill Belichick, but like the last couple of years
- 15:08Speaker 2: of Bill Belichick, it's like, Okay, this is you were
- 15:11Speaker 2: not doing. This is just getting worse. We need we
- 15:14Speaker 2: need to change course. Something has to change. And what
- 15:17Speaker 2: happened they mutually created part ways now personally, so.
- 15:21Speaker 3: It's official official. Is that correct? Because let me let
- 15:24Speaker 3: me but I keep seeing stories that are just posed
- 15:27Speaker 3: as expected to leave.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So this is where I want to get to. So yeah,
- 15:34Speaker 2: it's like this, it's the I think what happened was
- 15:39Speaker 2: I think I still we talked about this last year.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I still fully one believe she was planning to retire
- 15:47Speaker 2: or leave after Indiana Jones, because that was something she
- 15:50Speaker 2: was heavily with when those came out. However, they were
- 15:54Speaker 2: not I don't know about Box Off, they weren't. I mean,
- 15:57Speaker 2: it wasn't not a smash of success but icularly and
- 16:00Speaker 2: everything like that. It wasn't. It wasn't a raging success.
- 16:03Speaker 2: It wasn't critically claimed and the audience like, I don't
- 16:06Speaker 2: know what the tomato scores are and stuff like that,
- 16:09Speaker 2: but it wasn't what they thought. It was what the
- 16:12Speaker 2: Indian and Jones when they came out last, Yeah, yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 2: because that was because I'm not saying that was her baby,
- 16:18Speaker 2: but that was she was. She was well she produced
- 16:20Speaker 2: all of those, the original ones, because that was Spielberg
- 16:22Speaker 2: stuff and she was Spielberg's right hand person. Now, I
- 16:28Speaker 2: think what happened was I think Accoli came out. It
- 16:33Speaker 2: was what it was, and I think the conversation started
- 16:37Speaker 2: happening to like, look, every time something comes out, or
- 16:43Speaker 2: every time essentially anything that comes out, now we're not
- 16:46Speaker 2: having ranging success. And also I think the movie thing
- 16:49Speaker 2: really took shape because I think when I came back,
- 16:51Speaker 2: he's like, look, we to make movies, he says, especially
- 16:56Speaker 2: with Marvel. A lot of Marvel shows we announced are
- 16:58Speaker 2: not happening. We are going to have quality over quantity.
- 17:02Speaker 2: And the problem is they spent four billion dollars on
- 17:06Speaker 2: Star Wars. Now have they made that money back hundred percent?
- 17:13Speaker 2: But he knows they can be making a lot more.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And they have not had a movie in theaters in
- 17:19Speaker 2: five years. They've had probably twenty movies announced in Wars
- 17:25Speaker 2: Star Wars, they have had probably ten minute I can
- 17:30Speaker 2: think of ten. I can literally think of ten ten
- 17:33Speaker 2: movies announced in the last five years at minimum that
- 17:36Speaker 2: have not come through. For let me not gonna say
- 17:39Speaker 2: movies productions. I can for sure think of five movies
- 17:42Speaker 2: project the projects, projects potentially go in, projects protected to
- 17:46Speaker 2: go in theaters. Let's just say that only one is
- 17:52Speaker 2: in has allegedly allegedly finished production, and it's a movie
- 17:56Speaker 2: based off a show based off a thing from a
- 17:58Speaker 2: TV show, which is Mandalorian Krogu Right. All the other
- 18:03Speaker 2: podcasts are is the I'm Sorry, go Ahead, Go Ahead?
- 18:06Speaker 2: And the Day in the Race Skywalker movie, which was
- 18:10Speaker 2: which was well hold on, which was supposed to be
- 18:12Speaker 2: Race Skywalker but now allegedly it's just gonna be episode ten.
- 18:18Speaker 2: My god, I don't want that is now I'm the
- 18:21Speaker 2: back burner. Okay, good because because because days he really
- 18:28Speaker 2: keeps getting asked because she's doing other movies. And she says,
- 18:32Speaker 2: here's where I have to agree with her. She says,
- 18:35Speaker 2: I can't. I'm paraphrasing. She pretty much said, we're not
- 18:38Speaker 2: going to rush this, and I'm like, good I personally,
- 18:43Speaker 2: But I think what happened was I You're sat with
- 18:47Speaker 2: her and was like, look, we need to figure something out.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I do think. I do think that we did have
- 18:55Speaker 2: a plan for you to leave, leave in a high note,
- 18:58Speaker 2: because I know they don't want to. They don't want
- 18:59Speaker 2: to her, which she deserves to leave in a high
- 19:01Speaker 2: note or on her own terms. Let me rephrase that,
- 19:04Speaker 2: not that not that we have decided to relieve Kathleen
- 19:07Speaker 2: kennave hurt. No, that's not that's not what you do
- 19:09Speaker 2: with her. I think that's what it was. I think
- 19:12Speaker 2: they're like, hey, and here's where I was gonna come
- 19:14Speaker 2: back to you. So all this stuff came out yesterday,
- 19:20Speaker 2: And here's where I think really fucked Disney in the head.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Not just not just Disney and Lucas, I think all
- 19:25Speaker 2: of them. This came out yesterday. Okay, this came out.
- 19:29Speaker 2: This was first reportably by Puck News, who is it's
- 19:32Speaker 2: like a i'm not gonna say like a Twitter or
- 19:36Speaker 2: like a social media like leaker. They're a person who
- 19:38Speaker 2: like does reveal legitimate stuff and enjoy their stuff is credible.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And then all of the like movie leakers and stuff
- 19:47Speaker 2: like that, they all backed it up, and then the
- 19:49Speaker 2: major trades backed it up. The people that report shit
- 19:53Speaker 2: who have been like the highly reporters of right, the
- 19:55Speaker 2: people have been right pretty much ninety five percent of
- 19:57Speaker 2: the time. I think what happened then within the last
- 20:05Speaker 2: twenty four hours was Disney saw how the Internet reacted.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Because there's the famous I don't know if I sent
- 20:14Speaker 2: this to you, there's the famous scene. There's a famous
- 20:16Speaker 2: line and New Hope where ben Kenobi goes the sounds
- 20:21Speaker 2: of a thousand voices cried in peril then were silence. Instead,
- 20:25Speaker 2: it was the sounds of a million voices cried and enjoyed.
- 20:30Speaker 2: And I think they saw that because and now I
- 20:34Speaker 2: think they're I'm not gonna say backpedaling on it because
- 20:39Speaker 2: and again I want to phrase this to you because
- 20:41Speaker 2: you made that comment. Take as a grain of salt.
- 20:44Speaker 2: The only one to come out with this rapport. I'm
- 20:47Speaker 2: i to tell you, is CNN. Okay, so take that
- 20:51Speaker 2: with a grain of salt. Because it's CNN. They're saying
- 20:54Speaker 2: they were told that report was extremely exaggerated, that she
- 21:01Speaker 2: was leaving, that she's leaving, that it's essentially not true.
- 21:06Speaker 2: They're saying that she is not leaving for now. But
- 21:11Speaker 2: when you and again, I want to say this, this
- 21:14Speaker 2: is CNN, tastes a grain of salt.
- 21:16Speaker 3: No other major trades, no.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Other major trade, has BA has retracted what they reported
- 21:23Speaker 2: yes about her leaving. I here's why I think it
- 21:26Speaker 2: was gonna happen. I think because they say what you
- 21:30Speaker 2: all about like the Internet today, Lucasfilm was one of
- 21:32Speaker 2: the companies that is best at keeping a secret. I
- 21:36Speaker 2: think they're pissed that this got out because I am
- 21:39Speaker 2: legitimately think. I think they were announcing this in Japan,
- 21:42Speaker 2: where we're going to be in a couple of months.
- 21:44Speaker 2: H I think because you're the thing the last Star
- 21:47Speaker 2: Wars celebration, they announced all this ship that was happening.
- 21:51Speaker 2: They announced the Ray movie, they announced the Ray, the
- 21:55Speaker 2: Disney Plus mover all the Disney Plus shows coming to
- 21:58Speaker 2: up which is now, which that's not happening or whatnot.
- 22:00Speaker 2: They announced a type with such. All these things they announced,
- 22:04Speaker 2: none of them have come to fruition other than the
- 22:06Speaker 2: TV shows. So I think they're like, hey, you know what,
- 22:10Speaker 2: we're not gonna announce anything crazy for this one. We're
- 22:12Speaker 2: pertimply gonna announce here's what we're working on right now.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Kathleen's leaving, here's her replacement, because you don't. You don't
- 22:22Speaker 2: do a Star Wars celebration and not announce anything big
- 22:25Speaker 2: after not having one for two it was it been
- 22:27Speaker 2: two years or three one or two years. Yeah, they
- 22:29Speaker 2: skipped last year, and I think that's what it was.
- 22:33Speaker 2: And I think they're pissed this cut out because if
- 22:34Speaker 2: you read the CNN article, they simply just said that
- 22:38Speaker 2: our sources say this. But then when you actually read it,
- 22:40Speaker 2: because again, as I said, it's CNN, stress it. There's
- 22:44Speaker 2: one line in here where you got.
- 22:45Speaker 3: The here's it.
- 22:46Speaker 2: They don't put at the end, they don't put in
- 22:48Speaker 2: the beginning, they don't put in the middle. They put
- 22:50Speaker 2: it like the like sixty five percent mark. Okay, you're ready,
- 22:54Speaker 2: this is exactly and I and I double checked this
- 22:57Speaker 2: because I'm like huh, this is what it says, ld On,
- 23:03Speaker 2: I literally just lost my spot. So they said that
- 23:06Speaker 2: a source said, a source familiar with the matter. This
- 23:10Speaker 2: is key, a source familiar with the matter advertize there's
- 23:13Speaker 2: nothing to it right now, so familiar with the matter.
- 23:16Speaker 2: But then when you read the rest of the article,
- 23:20Speaker 2: familiar with the matter meaning not someone with Lucas or Disney.
- 23:23Speaker 2: But when you actually go far into the article, and
- 23:25Speaker 2: that's sixty five mark, this is what it says. Lucas
- 23:28Speaker 2: did not respond to request for comment, and then a
- 23:31Speaker 2: spokesperson did not comment for this story, meaning they got
- 23:39Speaker 2: someone to talk and the person will not comment on it.
- 23:42Speaker 2: But they got on the talk for Lucas coming back
- 23:46Speaker 2: for Kathleen leaving, oh for Lucasfilms said Lucas. So I
- 23:52Speaker 2: think they're pissed at this guy out because I wholeheartedly
- 23:57Speaker 2: believe they were planning to announce this for uh celebration.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Why because April's huge for them. You have Star Wars
- 24:06Speaker 2: celebration in Japan, which Eve though that's obviously not in
- 24:09Speaker 2: the North America States area. It's every time celebration happens.
- 24:13Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what year it is, it's always they
- 24:15Speaker 2: always go viral, even though I hate to say it,
- 24:18Speaker 2: majority of shit they announced does not fucking happen. Secondly,
- 24:23Speaker 2: you have the are you ready feel old? My friend?
- 24:27Speaker 2: The twentieth anniversary covers of the Sith, which was just
- 24:29Speaker 2: announced yesterday, which I also think why this is kind
- 24:34Speaker 2: of announced because like, dude, what is what was all
- 24:36Speaker 2: you want to talking about yesterday? Star Wars? That's all
- 24:40Speaker 2: you want to talk about yesterday? And then also, oh yeah,
- 24:42Speaker 2: what ELSEO came out the other day? The and Or
- 24:43Speaker 2: trailer on Monday, which also comes out when in April,
- 24:49Speaker 2: which I also goes to what may the fourth I
- 24:54Speaker 2: whole I believe this was planning to be announced in Japan.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I still think it's going to be. I just think
- 24:59Speaker 2: they're pissed. And then again seeing how even despite everything
- 25:03Speaker 2: that's been announced, everything that's going on, everything that's upcoming,
- 25:06Speaker 2: and then you have this awesome Jesus Christ, I mean,
- 25:10Speaker 2: I said it to you. They had a poster go viral.
- 25:13Speaker 2: First by name Mett Ferguson made the poster for the
- 25:15Speaker 2: twenty anniversary and it went A poster went viral? Why
- 25:18Speaker 2: because it's fucking awesome? When was the last time you
- 25:21Speaker 2: already want to talk about a movie poster, you know
- 25:23Speaker 2: what I mean? No one talks about him anymore. They'll
- 25:25Speaker 2: actually have anything. The only things that people talk about
- 25:27Speaker 2: movie posters is how people think Marvel movie posters suck,
- 25:30Speaker 2: which I agree with. I do think they're terrible. Yeah.
- 25:34Speaker 2: But even with all even with everything they announced, all
- 25:37Speaker 2: the news, all the good press, what's the one thing
- 25:40Speaker 2: that the majority of the news was the fact that
- 25:42Speaker 2: she was leaving, the fact that people were happy for it.
- 25:45Speaker 2: And I think that pissed them off, not because again,
- 25:48Speaker 2: not because it wasn't in the plant, but because they
- 25:51Speaker 2: didn't get to do it their way, because they always do.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I'm not saying I'm not saying she's not gonna announce it.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I still think she is going to what I yesterday.
- 26:00Speaker 2: What I say ninety five percent, I would have gone
- 26:03Speaker 2: ninety percent yesterday. That's legit. After we had seen an import,
- 26:06Speaker 2: I could see seventy percent. Only because I think they
- 26:08Speaker 2: might be pissed, but also because I think she wants
- 26:11Speaker 2: to go on a high note. And what better time
- 26:12Speaker 2: to go on the high note other than April was
- 26:15Speaker 2: All Star Wars and and R was coming out, which
- 26:18Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not sure. Being know this April May
- 26:21Speaker 2: that is peak TV month for Emmys, and and Or
- 26:25Speaker 2: won some Emmys last year and it's going to Quinn Summing.
- 26:27Speaker 2: It means me nominated for some again.
- 26:28Speaker 3: And right, I was gonna say.
- 26:35Speaker 2: And I do think I do think the CNN reports bullshit.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I do, but but based on what they put in there,
- 26:41Speaker 2: I that's just I'm not okay, I'm not let me
- 26:44Speaker 2: phrase that. I don't think it's bullshit.
- 26:45Speaker 1: But like.
- 26:47Speaker 2: They pretty much said like they didn't they we contacted them,
- 26:51Speaker 2: We got someone to say they talked back to us,
- 26:53Speaker 2: but they wouldn't. They wouldn't. They wouldn't confirm it, right,
- 26:58Speaker 2: but they wouldn't deny it either.
- 27:00Speaker 3: I think. Let me start with this. I think and
- 27:07Speaker 3: I don't think they're gonna do it, but maybe they will,
- 27:10Speaker 3: but who knows.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I mean like like announce.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Me, F yeah, you're fine. We we we we we
- 27:18Speaker 3: already mentioned that there were like in less five years
- 27:22Speaker 3: they had mentioned and like they had mentioned and announced
- 27:25Speaker 3: like thirty projects and maybe five have been made. So
- 27:30Speaker 3: we never know. We never know what will it will
- 27:32Speaker 3: not happen, what will and will not be actually come out?
- 27:37Speaker 3: So who knows if they will continue with this whole
- 27:40Speaker 3: New Republic era stuff content or maybe you'll end tomorrow.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I would prefer I think they're trying to flesh us
- 27:50Speaker 3: out so that it's a it's a viable and not viable,
- 27:55Speaker 3: but it is a like a valid, a valid a
- 28:00Speaker 3: piece of the Star Wars universe, even though no one
- 28:04Speaker 3: wanted it that are like, no, but we're gonna flesh
- 28:06Speaker 3: it out so that it's valid and that it counts
- 28:08Speaker 3: and that you know it wasn't for nothing. I think
- 28:10Speaker 3: that's what they're trying to do, and I think they
- 28:15Speaker 3: should kind of. They put out what they put out.
- 28:18Speaker 3: I think they put out enough of the story that
- 28:19Speaker 3: they want to. I think we should call it it
- 28:23Speaker 3: a day on the New Republic for now. I think
- 28:26Speaker 3: we should. There's we've said it a million times. There
- 28:31Speaker 3: is right for the Picking and the Old Republic, plenty
- 28:34Speaker 3: of stories. There's so much potential there. I think I
- 28:42Speaker 3: think we but like we said, we don't know what's
- 28:45Speaker 3: gonna happen. I hope they do. I don't know if
- 28:47Speaker 3: they will do that. I think there is an intention
- 28:51Speaker 3: from a lot of the diehard fans and a lot
- 28:54Speaker 3: of the long term people working on these projects. I'm
- 28:58Speaker 3: sure there's a lot of push from them to want
- 29:01Speaker 3: to do something other than the High Republic. I'm sure
- 29:04Speaker 3: they're also just happy working on Star Wars projects. But
- 29:07Speaker 3: I think the Star Wars community as a whole around
- 29:11Speaker 3: the world is kind of just like, you know, the
- 29:16Speaker 3: people who like it are kind of just like, well,
- 29:18Speaker 3: I love Star Wars content and I'm gonna do my
- 29:21Speaker 3: best to enjoy and that's usually the kind of what
- 29:24Speaker 3: I'm in. But I'm also right, but I'm also on
- 29:28Speaker 3: the side of like, Okay, we got to call a
- 29:30Speaker 3: spade a spade. You know this, this New Republic was
- 29:34Speaker 3: just just not it. I'm sorry. There's there's there's some
- 29:37Speaker 3: good in it, there's some great stuff in it, but
- 29:41Speaker 3: we want more of the more of the not always good,
- 29:48Speaker 3: always perfect, but content that how would I put this.
- 29:56Speaker 3: We want content that a eighty percent of the Fano
- 30:01Speaker 3: or seventy to eighty percent of grandom can agree is
- 30:03Speaker 3: good and instead of fifty to fifty where like we
- 30:08Speaker 3: are now, where it's fifty percent of us hated and
- 30:10Speaker 3: fifty percent of.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Us love it. I would say, if anything to go
- 30:14Speaker 2: on that the New Republic stuff. I would say, it's
- 30:16Speaker 2: just you need just to expand your horizons more, because
- 30:18Speaker 2: I've always said I'm a huge fan of their biggest
- 30:20Speaker 2: problem is they always stick to the same not to
- 30:22Speaker 2: the same stuff, but just to the same Lord. It's like, right, look,
- 30:25Speaker 2: this is there's lyrical right right, right, it's a galaxy
- 30:28Speaker 2: far away. So like you, there's so much shit we
- 30:30Speaker 2: don't know about, right, there's a fair go ahead. Yeah, no, no,
- 30:34Speaker 2: you're fine, go ahead.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Uh.
- 30:36Speaker 3: To be fair, I mean they stuck on. They stuck
- 30:41Speaker 3: on the first trilogy, in the second trilogy for a
- 30:46Speaker 3: very long time. They stuck on the prequels and the
- 30:50Speaker 3: original trilogy for a very long time. Also fair, they
- 30:53Speaker 3: did do some old Republic stuff and a lot of
- 30:55Speaker 3: or old Republic stuff in the games, and expanded univerary
- 30:57Speaker 3: stuff in the games and books, which I think was great,
- 31:01Speaker 3: and a lot of people like that, and a lot
- 31:03Speaker 3: of people were like, I think a lot of people
- 31:05Speaker 3: expected a new age, a completely new story in the
- 31:10Speaker 3: last trilogy, and we kind of got that, but it
- 31:14Speaker 3: really wasn't what we were looking for. We want to
- 31:17Speaker 3: go so far, you know, so far out of what
- 31:20Speaker 3: we know. Star Wars and what we got was just
- 31:23Speaker 3: a new star It was basically just Star Wars rebranded
- 31:26Speaker 3: as the Young Kids and the old ones are dying out,
- 31:29Speaker 3: but we're still in the old story. I think we should.
- 31:34Speaker 3: We have gone through the Skywalker saga. We've explored as
- 31:38Speaker 3: much as we can. If we still want to explain,
- 31:41Speaker 3: explore that eras time, sure, but go like like you said, Chuck,
- 31:46Speaker 3: go somewhere else. Stop focusing on the Skywalkers and all
- 31:50Speaker 3: of those focus on outside parts. That's why people love
- 31:53Speaker 3: the Mandalorian because even though I still intertwined with the
- 31:56Speaker 3: Skywalker story, it's its own plot, its contain its own story.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Does they have the Empire, Yes, but but it's not.
- 32:05Speaker 3: It's not the Rebels fighting the Empire. It's not the
- 32:07Speaker 3: Jedi fighting the Empire, even though there is bit some
- 32:10Speaker 3: piece of that. And throughout the show, it's about the
- 32:13Speaker 3: lone Texas Ranger, you know, bounty Hunter, going through life
- 32:18Speaker 3: and trying to figure out how is he going to
- 32:21Speaker 3: deal with having this kid. That's what we liked. New characters,
- 32:24Speaker 3: new plow line, new main character, you know, new new
- 32:28Speaker 3: thing to to to look into, and that's what we liked.
- 32:31Speaker 3: And you and again it was still within the original
- 32:34Speaker 3: trilogy slash New Republic era, so it's still inside the
- 32:38Speaker 3: era you want to play with, but new stories, new characters,
- 32:41Speaker 3: new plots, new new stuff to engage with. And that's
- 32:44Speaker 3: what we need to do, is that's what we need
- 32:46Speaker 3: to focus on, just different stuff other than what we know.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Stuff that that stuff that.
- 32:52Speaker 2: People will make take risk.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Yeah, take risks.
- 32:56Speaker 2: This is literally, this is literally you need to do. Okay.
- 32:59Speaker 2: What was the biggest risk Marvel took that paid off
- 33:01Speaker 2: for them? Was it the Avengers together? No, but that
- 33:05Speaker 2: was a big risk, but it paid off. It was
- 33:07Speaker 2: Guardians of the Galaxy because you could walk down the street.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Did anyone know did anyone know who the fuck Ironman's
- 33:16Speaker 2: actual alias was?
- 33:17Speaker 1: No?
- 33:17Speaker 2: No, not majority of people they know Tony Stark or
- 33:19Speaker 2: Steve Rodgers. Well no, it was I saying, but you
- 33:23Speaker 2: know what, now they do. But you know what, even then,
- 33:26Speaker 2: even even the majority of people, you know, like you
- 33:28Speaker 2: can walk down the street and to show up, so
- 33:30Speaker 2: you can show a random grandma or a random child
- 33:32Speaker 2: the picture of Batman. Hey, who's that? Oh that's Batman.
- 33:35Speaker 2: What's their name? Bruce Wayne? Because that's just common fucking
- 33:38Speaker 2: knowledge you know they did. They made Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 33:41Speaker 2: They said, we're gonna take the biggest risk possible. What
- 33:43Speaker 2: happened maybe a fucking a jillion dollars. Why because it
- 33:46Speaker 2: was a good ass movie. Because they took a risk
- 33:48Speaker 2: and it worked. And then it led the two other
- 33:50Speaker 2: movies and a spin off on Disney in a Christmas
- 33:53Speaker 2: movie on Disny Plus, which is actually really good. That's
- 33:56Speaker 2: what they need.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I love it. I love it, but it's but here's
- 34:04Speaker 3: the holiday specials.
- 34:06Speaker 2: But here's the thing. No, you think it's okay. I
- 34:08Speaker 2: think it's awesome. It's still in that good category. The
- 34:12Speaker 2: problem is, like the majority of people say that. But
- 34:14Speaker 2: with Star Wars and also it's also it's the fandom
- 34:16Speaker 2: is just so and I hate to say it, it's toxic.
- 34:19Speaker 1: It is.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but like but like, there are so many
- 34:23Speaker 2: things that you can do, and that's when you do that.
- 34:26Speaker 2: That's why you do it. The things that you know
- 34:27Speaker 2: people are going to like are comfortable. That's the stuff
- 34:30Speaker 2: you put in the theater or something like that. And
- 34:31Speaker 2: then we do, like three movies make a billion dollars.
- 34:34Speaker 2: That's when you take that big risk with something and
- 34:35Speaker 2: you put a rogue one in theaters. I love Rowan,
- 34:39Speaker 2: It's one of my top three favorites. Should that movie
- 34:41Speaker 2: made a billion dollars based on like what was in
- 34:43Speaker 2: the movie? No, but you know what, they barely put
- 34:45Speaker 2: Darth Vader in the trailer and it worked. The movie
- 34:49Speaker 2: was a badass. But the same time too, it's like,
- 34:51Speaker 2: you gotta take those risks because you have such a giant,
- 34:53Speaker 2: vast universe to explore. And that's the one thing I'm
- 34:56Speaker 2: worry about it. Whoever comes in next is like what
- 34:58Speaker 2: are they going to do? Because I'm telling right now,
- 34:59Speaker 2: if it is, I don't think he's doing any the
- 35:01Speaker 2: Old Republic because I read he doesn't like the Old Republic. Shit,
- 35:04Speaker 2: he doesn't like the Old Republic. Allegedly, he's not the
- 35:09Speaker 2: biggest fan of it.
- 35:10Speaker 3: I thought he'd universe.
- 35:12Speaker 2: See, that's the thing. But that the problem is also
- 35:14Speaker 2: and again these are according to things I've read and
- 35:17Speaker 2: other people have said. And this I want to ask
- 35:20Speaker 2: you here in a second, is obviously who takes over next?
- 35:24Speaker 2: If it's Folony, I here's what I say. It can't
- 35:30Speaker 2: be one person. It needs to be DC. You where
- 35:36Speaker 2: you have a guy who's head enough creative and a
- 35:38Speaker 2: guy who's head of the bills in the check and
- 35:40Speaker 2: the checks and balances, because do you think John Favreau,
- 35:45Speaker 2: Do you think John Favreau, Dave Filoni, you know how
- 35:46Speaker 2: to talk to a stockholder or a shareholder about like hey, shit,
- 35:53Speaker 2: you know what I mean, not that they don't, but
- 35:55Speaker 2: just common knowledge would common sense would say no.
- 35:58Speaker 3: And that's exactly the problem is that they But we
- 36:02Speaker 3: don't want people to cater tourn the stocks they We
- 36:05Speaker 3: just want them to produce stuff, right.
- 36:08Speaker 2: But the problem is we have to be realistic because
- 36:10Speaker 2: with something like this, that's what's gonna happen. Because at
- 36:13Speaker 2: the same time, while like, yeah, you know, I.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Think they're talking to shareholders, I think because because.
- 36:18Speaker 2: No, but the person who does this is going to
- 36:20Speaker 2: have to do that. That's the issue.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Yes and no, because they would really just have to
- 36:27Speaker 3: report to whoever's head at Disney.
- 36:31Speaker 2: And I mean you can because yeah, maybe Figgy doesn't
- 36:35Speaker 2: talk to those people.
- 36:35Speaker 5: That's fair.
- 36:37Speaker 2: But at the same time, it's like whoever takes over,
- 36:39Speaker 2: It's like, here's the thing I don't want to be
- 36:41Speaker 2: where it's like someone comes in and does like like
- 36:43Speaker 2: like whatever. Whenever a new person buys a sports team,
- 36:47Speaker 2: do you just call the clean sweep? They everyone gets
- 36:50Speaker 2: booted and they bring their own people and they put
- 36:52Speaker 2: it to their way. The problem with Star Wars, even
- 36:55Speaker 2: with Marvel, you don't have to do that. You see,
- 36:58Speaker 2: you have to do that is complete sweep, complete sweep.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Everything has everything's gotta be scrapped, Harry cavill, all that
- 37:05Speaker 2: bye get be gone, shoe funck off like, all that
- 37:09Speaker 2: had to be cleaned out. And what's happened. Literally a report,
- 37:12Speaker 2: I don't know if you read a report came out
- 37:14Speaker 2: of DC and upcoming stuff on this previous week and
- 37:19Speaker 2: they and even James Gunn said, yeah, a lot of
- 37:21Speaker 2: things we announced. There's still we're still playing, working, but
- 37:24Speaker 2: somewhere in the back burner because as he said, I
- 37:27Speaker 2: made some not great choices on writing, on who I
- 37:30Speaker 2: wanted to write certain.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Stuff mm hmm.
- 37:33Speaker 2: And that's okay, though you want to why because it's
- 37:35Speaker 2: a fresh new start, it's a whole new thing. There's
- 37:38Speaker 2: nothing that's quote unquote cannon nothing. But with Star Wars,
- 37:43Speaker 2: that's not what this is is You're not gonna have
- 37:45Speaker 2: someone come in and be like it's it's not gonna
- 37:47Speaker 2: be all right.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Uh uh.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Jon Favreau is the new head of Lucasfilm and he's
- 37:52Speaker 5: weird of booting Disney like with a Harry Potter. The recasting,
- 37:56Speaker 5: the casting auditions for the new Luke Skywalker underway. You're
- 37:59Speaker 5: not seeing that shit because you don't because that's that's
- 38:02Speaker 5: just not what this is going to be. But it's like, who, Okay,
- 38:08Speaker 5: here's the name, and I read I think some of
- 38:11Speaker 5: the traits they're saying that Filony is the favorite.
- 38:14Speaker 3: For sure.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Now if this was three or four years ago, I
- 38:20Speaker 2: would be doing cartwheels for that. I'm not afraid to admit.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I don't think he's that great of a writer. Just
- 38:28Speaker 2: just hold on, let me be afrase based on the
- 38:30Speaker 2: dialogue that's come out, because it's not just him writing
- 38:32Speaker 2: that's like, okay, well what he wrote, that's that's not
- 38:34Speaker 2: how it works. But just some of the stuff that
- 38:36Speaker 2: he's produced and wrote that's come out, it's just like, okay,
- 38:39Speaker 2: it's like this, he's only wrote things for animated and television.
- 38:44Speaker 2: What about the big screen because that's a whole different ballgame. Television,
- 38:47Speaker 2: you have eight nine episodes, you can do a whole
- 38:49Speaker 2: story for an half hour or for a half hour
- 38:51Speaker 2: to an hour. So that's what I told. What at
- 38:53Speaker 2: least four or five hours of content with a movie?
- 38:57Speaker 2: You can't do that. You have three hours max. And
- 39:00Speaker 2: by the hour and a half mark, people are either
- 39:02Speaker 2: fully investor or checked out if you're lucky. So right now,
- 39:08Speaker 2: the three favorites are Felony Favreau. Actually what was I
- 39:12Speaker 2: try to when I write her the three favorites? It's
- 39:16Speaker 2: Folony Flony, Favreau, Favreau, and then the wild cards Figy.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Because people think he wants to be done with Marvel.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I also think he wants to be done with Marvel.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Two.
- 39:30Speaker 2: If this was two years from now when Avengers comes out,
- 39:32Speaker 2: I would I would, I would. I would put one
- 39:34Speaker 2: hundred bucks on that was Figy because by all accounts,
- 39:39Speaker 2: fig is a huge Marvel guy, right but he's even
- 39:43Speaker 2: bigger Star Wars guy. Those are his words, those are
- 39:47Speaker 2: his words. But I also don't know if he wants
- 39:51Speaker 2: to be the head guy anymore. I think he might
- 39:53Speaker 2: just be slowly, might just be I'm not gonna say tired,
- 39:56Speaker 2: but just be like burnt out, maybe burnt out, but
- 40:00Speaker 2: not burnt out, burnt out creatively that makes sense. Yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 2: but with the new with the t with the status,
- 40:09Speaker 2: here's the thing, know it, with the status that Marvel's
- 40:11Speaker 2: in right now, and the two of vendors movies that
- 40:13Speaker 2: are coming out or not for a couple of years
- 40:16Speaker 2: are actually starting to film here in a couple of
- 40:17Speaker 2: months or so, actually I think it's next month. What
- 40:21Speaker 2: better time than now? If here's the thing? Let me
- 40:24Speaker 2: tell you this, Renee, if Fantastic four is successful, I
- 40:27Speaker 2: could totally see him being the guy because because because
- 40:32Speaker 2: what better not, what better note for him to go on?
- 40:34Speaker 2: What better know for him to go on? I'm the
- 40:36Speaker 2: one guy that made that group relevant. And for those
- 40:41Speaker 2: who don't that are listening the ribbon, what three sets
- 40:45Speaker 2: of three times they try to make movies with those
- 40:47Speaker 2: characters and all have flopped, all of them.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just kind of what was it saying? Yeah,
- 40:56Speaker 3: I you know my feelings on the Marble I for me,
- 40:59Speaker 3: it's it's ended after uh endgame. And then yes, there
- 41:05Speaker 3: has been some great stuff that's come out, but it's
- 41:07Speaker 3: it's it's kind of just like the greatness, the greatest
- 41:12Speaker 3: stuff that has come out at after the the endgame,
- 41:17Speaker 3: it seems like just like a if you compare to
- 41:19Speaker 3: like something inside before Endgame, Like obviously, yes, there were
- 41:24Speaker 3: shitty movies before Endgame, but like it feels like, what's
- 41:27Speaker 3: what we're saying is phenomenal now? Was like you know,
- 41:32Speaker 3: run of the mill good movie during really was?
- 41:35Speaker 2: There was a reason A real's common joke on the
- 41:37Speaker 2: podcast was that Kevin can wipe his ass with a
- 41:40Speaker 2: billion dollars because every movie he made it was a
- 41:42Speaker 2: billion dollars.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, And that's not the case, like, yeah, great,
- 41:45Speaker 3: we're finally getting a good movie, but we're comparing it
- 41:48Speaker 3: to super shitty stuff that has come out, and when
- 41:50Speaker 3: you compare it to previous amazing works, like it's like
- 41:54Speaker 3: it still holds up as a good movie, but it's
- 41:56Speaker 3: not a masterpiece. Like everyone's saying it's only a masterpiece
- 41:59Speaker 3: because we're comparing it to the rest of the ship
- 42:01Speaker 3: that has come out afterwards.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Well, for example, like Daredevil comes out next week. I
- 42:08Speaker 2: love Dearedevil. Obviously it's a it's sort of a follow
- 42:12Speaker 2: up to the Netflix series. It isn't. It isn't kind
- 42:15Speaker 2: of thing. I'm not seeing the hype that was there
- 42:21Speaker 2: years ago when they announced this or hell, let's go
- 42:25Speaker 2: to West Summer with deb Hoo Wolverine. Awesome movie. I
- 42:28Speaker 2: enjoyed it, had a great time. But what was the
- 42:30Speaker 2: one thing I said that was gonna happen that happened?
- 42:33Speaker 2: Is there really any part of the movie that makes
- 42:35Speaker 2: you go other than the brief TVA thing that the
- 42:40Speaker 2: was be connected to the MCU, other than a John
- 42:44Speaker 2: Favreau cameo? What connection was there? None? No, none, And
- 42:51Speaker 2: that's the biggest movie you've done since Spider Man and
- 42:57Speaker 2: and now Spider Man's and we don't giving the Respire
- 43:00Speaker 2: movie for like two years as well.
- 43:02Speaker 3: In conclusion, Uh, we once again, I mean we like
- 43:06Speaker 3: again we we for the last five years we wanted
- 43:09Speaker 3: Kathleen to leave as always we still we we still
- 43:12Speaker 3: would look forward again, not in a you've done nothing
- 43:17Speaker 3: good in your life, but in a we think it's
- 43:20Speaker 3: time for new management way. We are looking forward to her.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Uh, it's time to go in a different direction.
- 43:27Speaker 3: It's time to move in a different direction.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Exactly, we should the best look in her future endeavors,
- 43:32Speaker 2: which apparently it's tiring, not leaving which is retired.
- 43:35Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, I think she has a great
- 43:37Speaker 3: legacy of work I mean, she's worked on so many films,
- 43:39Speaker 3: not just being lucasfilms, She's working on so many films.
- 43:41Speaker 3: So yes, if she wants to retire, great, If she
- 43:43Speaker 3: wants to work on something else, I think I'm thinking
- 43:45Speaker 3: she'll be a great asset to other teams. But you know,
- 43:49Speaker 3: we just think it's time for a new head in
- 43:53Speaker 3: a new direction for Lucasfilms, and we we we hope
- 43:57Speaker 3: that it is true. If not, you know, then we'll
- 43:59Speaker 3: continue and you're continued to consume whatever Star Wars content
- 44:03Speaker 3: comes out. Except for Accolyte. I will never watch that show.
- 44:08Speaker 3: It's not that bad. It's not that bad. It's not
- 44:12Speaker 3: that bad. Only things I haven't watched is Alcolyte and
- 44:15Speaker 3: what's that one kid show that became.
- 44:17Speaker 2: No No No Skeleton Okay, Skeleton Crew was no No.
- 44:20Speaker 3: No skelet No no no that Skeleton Crew. I love
- 44:22Speaker 3: Skeleton Crew, The Disney, the Disney, the Baby One, the
- 44:29Speaker 3: the The New Republic, fucking ship like it was like
- 44:34Speaker 3: about people flying and about about ships.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Like people flying. Ah Soca bad Batch.
- 44:44Speaker 3: No, it was the one that no one watched. It
- 44:47Speaker 3: was it was like a resistant show.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Even I don't even know what to talk about.
- 44:53Speaker 3: What they fucking called clicking his bat Star Wars Resistence.
- 44:58Speaker 3: It's like called Star Wars Resistance, isn't it?
- 45:01Speaker 2: Isn't it the Disney show?
- 45:03Speaker 3: Yeah? It was Disney's like like instead of Rebels like
- 45:06Speaker 3: Disney cartoon. Yes, instead of rebels and Clone Wars. We're
- 45:11Speaker 3: doing this now. And everyone was like, what.
- 45:13Speaker 2: I've ever told you this? I was once invited. I
- 45:17Speaker 2: was invited with a good friend of mine. His name's Corey.
- 45:20Speaker 2: He invited me. I went hung out with him some
- 45:22Speaker 2: friends and we were we did a was He's like, hey,
- 45:26Speaker 2: me and my friends do this trivia thing, and like
- 45:29Speaker 2: it's Star Wars trivia. I'm like, say, when literally they
- 45:39Speaker 2: had two, we got second place second the questions were
- 45:45Speaker 2: one of the questions was from that show. And when
- 45:48Speaker 2: the guy announced from Star Wars Resistance, I booed, and
- 45:53Speaker 2: the table that won full of Star Wars fellow geek
- 45:58Speaker 2: my friends, they stood have been applauded me. And the
- 46:02Speaker 2: guy goes, what And I said, this question doesn't fucking
- 46:05Speaker 2: count because that show. I cannon. I don't give a
- 46:10Speaker 2: ship what anyone says.
- 46:12Speaker 3: So, but where are we going with this?
- 46:14Speaker 2: I forgot well, no, you were.
- 46:16Speaker 1: You were.
- 46:18Speaker 2: You were essentially you were saying like those you won't
- 46:20Speaker 2: watch those shows, and you were essentially you were giving
- 46:22Speaker 2: Kathleen her flower, which she is entitled to because again,
- 46:26Speaker 2: this isn't a she's being fired, She's this is she
- 46:28Speaker 2: is retiring. But I think it's a mutual. It's a
- 46:30Speaker 2: it's a mutual part of partying of ways, because here
- 46:34Speaker 2: I'll give her flowers. And here's the thing. There are
- 46:36Speaker 2: two things I want to end on, and we need
- 46:41Speaker 2: to talk about you going to the Star We can
- 46:43Speaker 2: talk about that later. You're going to Star Wars celebration.
- 46:46Speaker 2: But like I really hope, and again I don't know
- 46:48Speaker 2: how it works, because every convention is different. Sometimes you
- 46:50Speaker 2: gotta get an extra ticket to going and that ship.
- 46:52Speaker 2: I really hope that you're there to see that because
- 46:55Speaker 2: I feel like if you have a chance.
- 46:56Speaker 3: To be I'm announcing that she's leaving.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Yeah, because the think because I don't I don't know how. Again,
- 47:03Speaker 2: I haven't looked at the I'm not going, so I
- 47:05Speaker 2: looked at the plan like for like comic Con, like
- 47:07Speaker 2: Comic Con, for example, like the hall Ahe saying, like,
- 47:09Speaker 2: you know, you have a Comic Con ticket. You have
- 47:11Speaker 2: to get in line to get into that thing. There's
- 47:12Speaker 2: I'll guarantee get that part of the show Star Wars celebration.
- 47:16Speaker 2: I know when that one Chicago years ago happened and
- 47:18Speaker 2: they showed the Rise of Skywalker trailer May, there were
- 47:21Speaker 2: a lot of people that were in that theater. There
- 47:23Speaker 2: were a lot of people who were not in that theater.
- 47:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I was. I was at work when they announced
- 47:28Speaker 3: it and then I got to the convention.
- 47:29Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I'm hope, but I don't know.
- 47:31Speaker 2: I don't know. You have to get like into a
- 47:32Speaker 2: raffle or buyas in particular for that. I hope that
- 47:34Speaker 2: you get to experience that because I'm not. I don't
- 47:37Speaker 2: Here's the thing.
- 47:37Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 47:38Speaker 3: It's also it's just want to be in the area
- 47:40Speaker 3: when they announce stuff.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Right, And I think that's going to be I think
- 47:43Speaker 2: that's going to be a very.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Cool experience for you, oh for sure.
- 47:47Speaker 2: But I also I think it's gonna be very interesting
- 47:49Speaker 2: because I also love to get your and we'll do
- 47:50Speaker 2: a follow up get your take on Let's say they say, hey,
- 47:53Speaker 2: she's retiring, Which are the best for Luck thank you
- 47:56Speaker 2: for everything. Here's the new person. Blah blah blah, and
- 48:00Speaker 2: I want to like, obviously the internet will react, but
- 48:02Speaker 2: like see how you because you'll be able to get
- 48:04Speaker 2: the actual You'll get the first feel of like, well,
- 48:06Speaker 2: how everyone else? How real? The craziest people think, because
- 48:09Speaker 2: you're gonna be there. That's the one thing. Like you
- 48:15Speaker 2: gotta tell me what everyone? What's the vibe? Here are
- 48:18Speaker 2: we all? Are we doing? Is this the end of
- 48:20Speaker 2: a Return of the Jedi? Or is this uh, you know,
- 48:24Speaker 2: Revenge of the Sith where we's got our asses kicked?
- 48:26Speaker 3: The Japanese are very much they'll tell you.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not. It's all. But it's going to
- 48:33Speaker 2: be multiple cultures from people over the world. Dope, that's
- 48:36Speaker 2: the thing. Yeah, and before I do want to give
- 48:40Speaker 2: her flowers. I'm not gonna obviously go down the list,
- 48:43Speaker 2: but here's the thing. She produced more than seventy films
- 48:47Speaker 2: and has been nominated for eight oss Oh and can
- 48:50Speaker 2: I ask you a question really quick, fre get out
- 48:52Speaker 2: of here. Would you care to tell me all time?
- 48:58Speaker 2: What is the biggest box office movie domestically? Ever? The
- 49:05Speaker 2: answer is not Endgame, that's number two.
- 49:09Speaker 3: What's that Avatar.
- 49:12Speaker 2: No, it is not Avatar. Avatar is fourth. The biggest
- 49:16Speaker 2: movie domestically in the United States All the Time is
- 49:19Speaker 2: a movie produced by Kathleen Kennedy. It's called The Force
- 49:22Speaker 2: Awakens No Oh. Domestically, domestically, it is the biggest movie
- 49:30Speaker 2: in the history United States of America. America. We make
- 49:35Speaker 2: that clear, not all, not all, not gross for the
- 49:38Speaker 2: entire planet America. The initial gross was nine hundred and
- 49:42Speaker 2: thirty six million, Avatar was seven hundred and forty million,
- 49:47Speaker 2: which is fucking insane. So you have to give her
- 49:50Speaker 2: flowers when it's due. Anyway, Well, we're right out time
- 49:55Speaker 2: a little bit today, so I do a podist for that.
- 49:56Speaker 2: But we'll get we'll talk about clicking ey clacks, Japan,
- 50:01Speaker 2: travel woes here in a little bit once it comes.
- 50:03Speaker 2: Not travel wolves. But you're planning walls, which when you
- 50:07Speaker 2: told me there were the phone, I was I'm not
- 50:08Speaker 2: gonna lie to I was almost pissed my pants laughing
- 50:10Speaker 2: for you. Do I hear anything you want to plug?
- 50:11Speaker 2: Promoke it off your chest, give flowers too, ask the prom.
- 50:17Speaker 3: No, No, I think just a chill guy, just a chilling,
- 50:23Speaker 3: non chalant guy. That's it.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Chill, nonchalant guy chilling with the forest. One with the forest.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It's one with you.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Yeah, man, cool, cool, that's cool. Oh lord, at any
- 50:36Speaker 2: rate that is clicking the clack rent that you were

- 50:58Speaker 2: a month and a half or so, but I do
- 51:00Speaker 2: plan to do pre records before then, so hopefully no
- 51:03Speaker 2: major news breaks. But then I just realized you when
- 51:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna be traveling just.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Come back from fucking Europe Christmas?
- 51:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I have to go. Hey man, I go visit

- 51:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, quick, yeah, quick little plane ride from
- 51:44Speaker 2: Germany to Japan. I'm sure it's quick.

- 51:49Speaker 2: To celebration or for celebration. Don't tell me the good
- 51:55Speaker 2: time anyway, So well I might bring my or I
