  Loved enough to be corrected. Nobody enjoys being corrected.

  It can feel embarrassing, frustrating, or even hurtful.

  Maybe it's a parent calling out an attitude you didn't think was
• 0:19
  a big deal, a coach pointing out where you're falling short, or a
• 0:23
  moment when something you hear in church hits a little too
• 0:25
  close to home. Correction has a way of making
• 0:28
  us feel exposed. Our instinct is often to defend
• 0:31
  ourselves, shut down, or pull away.
• 0:34
  But what if correction isn't a sign of rejection at all?
• 0:37
  What if it's actually proof of love?
• 0:39
  Proverbs chapter 3, verses 11 to 12 reframes the whole idea.

  My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of
• 0:47
  his reproof. For the Lord reproves him whom
• 0:49
  he loves as a father, the Son, and whom he delights.
• 0:53
  God doesn't correct you because He's disappointed in you.
• 0:56
  He corrects you because he delights in you.
• 0:59
  He sees who you're becoming, not just who you are right now.

  His love doesn't stop at saving you, it keeps working to shape
• 1:05
  you. That shaping shows up clearly in
• 1:07
  Matthew chapter 5 where Jesus describes what a life aligned
• 1:11
  with God actually looks like. He says blessed are the meek,
• 1:15
  for they shall inherit the earth.

  Meekness isn't weakness, it's strength under control.
• 1:20
  It's choosing humility over ego. Then Jesus says blessed are the
• 1:24
  pure in heart, for they shall see God.
• 1:26
  Purity isn't about perfection. It's about a heart that's
• 1:29
  willing to be cleaned, refined, and aligned with God's truth.

  And he adds, blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be
• 1:35
  called sons of God. Peacemaking takes effort.
• 1:39
  It often means swallowing pride, letting go of the need to be
• 1:42
  right, and choosing love over drama.
• 1:44
  None of these qualities grow naturally on their own.

  They're formed through moments where God gently and sometimes
• 1:50
  firmly corrects us, through conviction, through
• 1:53
  uncomfortable honesty, through learning to listen instead of
• 1:57
  resist. God's correction isn't
• 1:59
  punishment, it's preparation. He's shaping your heart so your
• 2:03
  life can reflect His character. So the next time you feel that
• 2:06
  nudge in your spirit, that quiet conviction, or that loving
• 2:09
  challenge, don't run from it. Lean in.

  That may be your Heavenly Father saying you matter too much to
• 2:15
  leave you where you are. Let's pray.

  Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me enough to correct me.

  Help me not to resist your discipline or grow weary of your

  guidance. Shape my heart to be meek, pure,

  and committed to peace. Give me humility to listen,

  courage to change, and grace to grow into who you're calling me

  mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your

  Father who is in heaven. For he makes his Son to rise on

  the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

  For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?
