Latest / Foul Territory / Brewers grab 2-0 NLCS edge, Guards blitz Rays in CS G1 | FT Postgame
Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's the FT Live postgame show. It's late. It's time
- 0:05Speaker 1: to recap not one, but two LCS games and also
- 0:09Speaker 1: just enjoy the remaining days that we have where there
- 0:12Speaker 1: are multiple games in the 2026 MLB season. Braun Pierzynski, Kratz.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We're going to go over Dodgers Brewers later. We're going
- 0:19Speaker 1: to start with the ALCS since that's the freshest one
- 0:22Speaker 1: that we're coming off of. Guardians take game one in
- 0:25Speaker 1: Tampa Bay at the Trop. So let's dive in. Let's
- 0:29Speaker 1: do it with full count. It's a full count. Yep.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Full count fueled by marathon. Were you surprised here? AJ,
- 0:41Speaker 1: the Rays were in control. It's Rasmussen things looking like
- 0:45Speaker 1: it's the Rays brand of baseball. And then Cleveland gave
- 0:48Speaker 1: them a heavy dose of what the guardians do guards ball.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Okay. So this reminds me of two to 2005.
- 0:55Speaker 3: We played the, We played the Angels after the D.S., right?
- 1:01Speaker 3: We swept the Red Sox, and they played the Yankees,
- 1:05Speaker 3: and they had to go to game five, and they
- 1:08Speaker 3: had to fly from New York to Anaheim. There was
- 1:11Speaker 3: a rain delay, so they didn't get a day off
- 1:13Speaker 3: in between, right? So everyone said, oh, rest versus rush, right?
- 1:16Speaker 3: And they rode really high, and that's the only game
- 1:18Speaker 3: we lost that postseason. Everyone said, oh, the Angels are
- 1:21Speaker 3: going to come in. They're going from New York to Anaheim,
- 1:24Speaker 3: back to Chicago, 48 hours, whatever. They're going to be
- 1:28Speaker 3: so tired. One thing I've learned is that it's not
- 1:31Speaker 3: the first day that gets you. It's the second day, usually,
- 1:34Speaker 3: of being tired. The only surprise to me is that
- 1:37Speaker 3: the Rays didn't kind of jump on Foster Griffin a
- 1:40Speaker 3: little more. They scored the two runs early, but then
- 1:43Speaker 3: it was just nothing. Espina came in and did a
- 1:45Speaker 3: good job. Cantillo came in and did a good job.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Then when you get to the back end with Gattis
- 1:49Speaker 3: and Zabrowski, I know he gave up the home run,
- 1:52Speaker 3: and Cade Smith literally is a robot. It gets really tough,
- 1:56Speaker 3: but I'm not surprised the Guardians won a game. I'm
- 1:59Speaker 3: just surprised that the Rays scored the two runs early
- 2:03Speaker 3: and just their offense went.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Away, really.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of credit to the Guardians. Patrick Bailey giving,
- 2:13Speaker 3: and even Steven Vogt trusting that Foster Griffin who did
- 2:18Speaker 3: not do well when he came over in the trade,
- 2:21Speaker 3: did not pitch that much when he did pitch against
- 2:23Speaker 3: the White Sox, punched out the world. So everybody was
- 2:27Speaker 3: trusting Foster Griffin after that first inning, and whoever it
- 2:33Speaker 3: was settled all those pitchers down and kept them in
- 2:37Speaker 3: the game. There's a lot of key at-bats to the game.
- 2:40Speaker 3: There's a lot of big hits, big strikeouts in different spots.
- 2:45Speaker 3: but they kept them in the game by leaving it 2-0.
- 2:48Speaker 3: You score two early in a playoff game, you got
- 2:52Speaker 3: to finish them. And so for the Rays to not
- 2:54Speaker 3: finish them, that's what really ultimately ended up costing them.
- 2:58Speaker 3: I know the game got a little more out of
- 3:00Speaker 3: hand later, but you can put them away right there
- 3:03Speaker 3: and really, really force the Guardians to throw kind of
- 3:07Speaker 3: the underbelly of their bullpen, and you can do damage
- 3:10Speaker 3: against them, and they weren't able to add on.
- 3:14Speaker 1: AJ, Jose Ramirez is back. He's very back right now.
- 3:17Speaker 2: He's on fire.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And he has help. I think that's important here. Chase
- 3:21Speaker 1: DeLauder is help. How many years have we talked about
- 3:24Speaker 1: the Guardians and Jose Ramirez and there's nobody around him
- 3:27Speaker 1: that can step up and be a star? Maybe it's DeLauder.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Maybe it is.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I mean, he's got a great song. And then when
- 3:33Speaker 3: he comes up to hit, they do the country roads
- 3:35Speaker 3: and they change it to Chase DeLauder.
- 3:36Speaker 2: That's pretty awesome.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Chase DeLauder's had some nice games. Why in the ninth
- 3:41Speaker 3: inning they pitched to Jose Ramirez? Listen, I know DeLauder
- 3:44Speaker 3: has had three hits behind him, but I'm sorry, I'm
- 3:48Speaker 3: not pitching to Jose Ramirez right there.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I'm making DeLauder beat me. And you know what? I
- 3:52Speaker 2: might not pitch to him either.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I might walk him to and go after Joe Adele.
- 3:58Speaker 3: The ninth inning, like Kratz kind of said, it got
- 3:59Speaker 3: away from him. The double steal, nobody covers in that situation.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Am I not right, Crouch?
- 4:05Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 4:06Speaker 3: Let them have the base. Junior Caminero goes to cover.
- 4:09Speaker 3: The ball goes down the left field line. Two more
- 4:11Speaker 3: runs scored. That really put the game away, but the
- 4:15Speaker 3: guards just did what they did. They get timely hits.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Their stars step up in big moments. Their bullpen is
- 4:20Speaker 3: really good. This is why they're in the ALCS, and
- 4:23Speaker 3: this is why they're up 1-0 because they played much
- 4:26Speaker 3: like the other series where the Brewers played their game,
- 4:29Speaker 3: the Guardians played their game. Almost everything that happened tonight
- 4:33Speaker 3: I would not have said was going to happen. Like,
- 4:36Speaker 3: Jose got pitched to. Patrick Bailey hit a homer to
- 4:40Speaker 3: dead center. Not even dead center. Like, right of dead
- 4:43Speaker 3: center field in the trop, which is, in the American
- 4:45Speaker 3: League East, probably one of the farthest places to hit
- 4:48Speaker 3: a homer besides Boston's triangle there in right center.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But, like, it is like....
- 4:54Speaker 3: It did not go the way that I thought it
- 4:58Speaker 3: would be scripted, the way that I thought you would
- 5:01Speaker 3: have said, hey, you're throwing Foster Griffin.
- 5:04Speaker 2: You know what?
- 5:05Speaker 3: Give us some innings. Give us some length. We'll get
- 5:07Speaker 3: him in game two, especially after it started 2-0. And
- 5:12Speaker 3: I think Chase DeLauder, I think he had like a
- 5:16Speaker 3: three and a half war this year. He hit like 287,
- 5:18Speaker 3: like 111 OPS plus. He's going to get some Rookie
- 5:26Speaker 3: of the Year votes. Everybody remembers him from making his
- 5:29Speaker 3: big league debut in the playoffs last year. And you
- 5:34Speaker 3: have a guy that I think, while I'm never as
- 5:38Speaker 3: afraid of him as Jose Ramirez, I think he puts
- 5:41Speaker 3: together really, really good at-bats. And I think players or
- 5:47Speaker 3: people in the game would be like, oh, he doesn't
- 5:48Speaker 3: hit for enough power. Like the rest of the Guardians
- 5:51Speaker 3: don't hit for enough power. But he puts together good at-bats.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Joe Adele, I think that he's now six after going
- 5:57Speaker 3: 0 for his first nine with six punch outs against
- 6:01Speaker 3: the White Sox. I think he's now six for his
- 6:03Speaker 3: last 14 after that bad start to the postseason. So
- 6:09Speaker 3: he's starting to make adjustments. He tried on that one
- 6:12Speaker 3: ground ball up the middle with the run of the
- 6:14Speaker 3: second and third. He tried to hit the open hole.
- 6:17Speaker 3: And this is also a guy that had 98 stakes
- 6:20Speaker 3: during the season. Like, There's potential there, and when you
- 6:24Speaker 3: win games like this, you're like, see, I knew it.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Chase De Lauder and Joe Adele would be great protection
- 6:31Speaker 3: for Jose Ramirez.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you have a rookie in De Lauder. You have
- 6:34Speaker 1: Adele acquired around the trade deadline. You have Foster Griffin
- 6:38Speaker 1: acquired around the trade deadline. Patrick Bailey was acquired as
- 6:42Speaker 1: an early trade during the season. These are transactions that matter.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It actually makes me feel good about the shows we
- 6:48Speaker 1: do every day when we talk about this ad nauseum. AJ,
- 6:52Speaker 1: because we see so many impact players in this game
- 6:55Speaker 1: that weren't on the team a year ago. And you
- 6:59Speaker 1: know what's going to make you laugh? The portion of
- 7:02Speaker 1: the bracket that was considered the consolation bracket with the
- 7:08Speaker 1: Astros and the White Sox and the Guardians. And all
- 7:12Speaker 1: of a sudden, here comes Cleveland sending a message to
- 7:14Speaker 1: Tampa Bay. Best record in the AL, the race. Best
- 7:17Speaker 1: home record in the American League. And Cleveland's like, we
- 7:21Speaker 1: can play with you guys. Stop making fun of our
- 7:22Speaker 1: portion of the bracket.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Nobody doubts that Cleveland can play with them. I don't
- 7:26Speaker 3: think that was ever the option. I think over the
- 7:29Speaker 3: long haul is where you're going to look at it
- 7:31Speaker 3: and say the Guardians can't compete. But listen, they've got
- 7:36Speaker 3: their best two pitchers lined up now for the next
- 7:38Speaker 3: two games. They've got Messick and Gavin Williams lined up.
- 7:41Speaker 3: So they're in a great spot. But then again, we
- 7:44Speaker 3: also thought after game one and the other series that
- 7:47Speaker 3: the Dodgers are in a great spot and Yamamoto couldn't
- 7:49Speaker 3: get out of the third inning. So you just never know.
- 7:52Speaker 2: It's baseball.
- 7:52Speaker 3: That's what makes it so great. But I'll say this
- 7:54Speaker 3: about the Guardians. They're a good team. They won the division.
- 7:58Speaker 3: They have all kinds of postseason experience. This isn't a
- 8:02Speaker 3: team just getting there for the first time. The Guardians
- 8:04Speaker 3: have been to the postseason. Now, they haven't made it
- 8:06Speaker 3: very far recently, but they've been there and they're led
- 8:09Speaker 3: by a guy who fears nothing, and that's Jose Ramirez.
- 8:13Speaker 3: He's definitely– I mean, he's like if you would go
- 8:17Speaker 3: out to the backyard and play wiffle ball with somebody.
- 8:19Speaker 3: That's what it looks like he's doing. With his short
- 8:22Speaker 3: little arms, his smile, how he stayed on the bag
- 8:25Speaker 3: after he dove back in on the play where he
- 8:29Speaker 3: got the hit and then they had him off the bag.
- 8:31Speaker 3: He stayed on– like you wouldn't even think he's 34
- 8:34Speaker 3: years old. Like some guys, they're like 34 on the decline. Hosey,
- 8:39Speaker 3: after having a bad year for his standard, has just
- 8:44Speaker 3: come alive. But the guy that I have to talk about,
- 8:46Speaker 3: and the fact that I'm trying to get his amount
- 8:49Speaker 3: of pitches here, the fact that they still brought Cade
- 8:54Speaker 3: Smith in the game, the Rays should have somehow made
- 9:00Speaker 3: him throw 15 pitches. I know that's easier said than done,
- 9:04Speaker 3: but Cade Smith... I get it. He got hot cause
- 9:07Speaker 3: he was going to come in the game and that's
- 9:09Speaker 3: counted as a, you know, an up down. So I
- 9:13Speaker 3: guess they still wanted to bring him in the game.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Even with the lead, we've seen voter do this before.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I hope it doesn't come back to bite him, but
- 9:20Speaker 3: I know the Rays lost an opportunity.
- 9:22Speaker 2: He only threw six pitches.
- 9:24Speaker 3: You want that guy to throw as many pitches as possible.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I'm not even saying take till two strikes. It's not
- 9:31Speaker 3: what I'm saying. I'm just saying that there is an
- 9:34Speaker 3: opportunity to, to chip away you're not winning this game
- 9:38Speaker 3: but chip away at this bullpen that's going to just
- 9:41Speaker 3: get absolutely worn out throughout this whole series.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah but how do you guys do that that's my
- 9:47Speaker 1: question i mean if he's if he's pumping strikes then
- 9:49Speaker 1: you're behind against him you're even more screwed.
- 9:55Speaker 3: I mean he threw six pitches i know I'm not
- 10:00Speaker 3: saying you can't try to foul the ball off you
- 10:02Speaker 3: can't try so I guess so I guess I'm just
- 10:06Speaker 3: yelling into the wind but I think I think we
- 10:10Speaker 3: need you to we need you to be able to
- 10:12Speaker 3: see as many pitches as possible it will help you
- 10:15Speaker 3: later in the series and it will slowly wear him
- 10:18Speaker 3: down I think Unless he's a machine. And then his
- 10:22Speaker 3: mom freaking out when he was closing the game in
- 10:25Speaker 3: game five was just theater because she knows he's a
- 10:29Speaker 3: machine and he will never mess up.
- 10:31Speaker 1: If you're looking for non-competitive pitches, Emmanuel Classe is not
- 10:34Speaker 1: on the Guardians anymore. It's allegedly. It's allegedly. Anyway, let's
- 10:41Speaker 1: get back to biz. One more thing on this series
- 10:42Speaker 1: for me, AJ. Key at bat of the game. Nathaniel Lowe.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Two fastballs up. He's down 0-2. It's pretty much same pitch,
- 10:53Speaker 1: same location again. And he comes through with a two-run
- 10:57Speaker 1: knock that puts them ahead, and then they never looked back.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Nathaniel Lowe's been here before. A few years ago, there
- 11:01Speaker 1: was a team called the Texas Rangers that beat the
- 11:04Speaker 1: Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 World Series. It's not the
- 11:07Speaker 1: Dodgers every year. So that was the World Series. Lowe
- 11:10Speaker 1: has the experience, and he comes through for this team too.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and by the way, there was something I saw,
- 11:18Speaker 3: and they were talking about it. Great at bat by Lowe.
- 11:21Speaker 3: After Adele didn't get it done, Lowe comes up, gets
- 11:23Speaker 3: two heaters up. And then the veteran in him just says,
- 11:25Speaker 3: all right, I'm putting the bat on the ball and
- 11:27Speaker 3: we're going from there. The base running, whoever, I forget
- 11:32Speaker 3: who was on second. DeLauder maybe was on second, I think.
- 11:35Speaker 3: And they were like, oh, what a great read. Cratch,
- 11:39Speaker 3: the infield was in front of him. If the ball
- 11:41Speaker 3: is over the infielder's head, you go. Like, I don't
- 11:43Speaker 3: know what the great read was. Like, they're not behind him.
- 11:46Speaker 3: They're in front of you. You're behind him. If the
- 11:48Speaker 3: ball is over your head, it's a knock. You can
- 11:50Speaker 3: haul ass to score. So, yeah, that was a great
- 11:54Speaker 3: read by DeLauder, knowing that the infielders were.
- 11:56Speaker 2: In front of him. But whatever.
- 11:59Speaker 3: It was a great swing by Nathaniel Lowe. That's why
- 12:02Speaker 3: veterans are so important on these teams and in these
- 12:04Speaker 3: playoff runs. And when you make the right trade and
- 12:07Speaker 3: you put the right guys on the team, And then
- 12:09Speaker 3: they get big hits. Whatever prospect you gave away for him,
- 12:14Speaker 3: it doesn't matter.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. It doesn't.
- 12:19Speaker 3: He got a big hit. And what did he do?
- 12:22Speaker 3: He made an adjustment. He got blown away by the fastballs.
- 12:26Speaker 3: The first two, he made an adjustment. Something that I've
- 12:29Speaker 3: seen throughout playoffs, not a lot of guys have made.
- 12:33Speaker 3: And it's partially why these are the first two games
- 12:37Speaker 3: that we've seen to.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Have this many runs scored.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and if you're the Rays, you still feel really good.
- 12:45Speaker 1: You got game two at home. Freddie P, who has
- 12:50Speaker 1: been looking like a number one, right? You got to
- 12:53Speaker 1: feel really good. I know AJ mentioned it's not like
- 12:55Speaker 1: you have this great pitching plan set up for the
- 12:59Speaker 1: next few days in terms of having the edge over
- 13:01Speaker 1: the Guardians. These two teams both have starters, right? If
- 13:04Speaker 1: Foster Griffin's able to at least fill some innings here
- 13:07Speaker 1: like he did today. That's what lines this team up
- 13:10Speaker 1: for Messick, who was one of the best pitchers in
- 13:11Speaker 1: baseball this year as a rookie, and then Gavin Williams
- 13:14Speaker 1: is ridiculous. So the Guardians are in good shape, but
- 13:17Speaker 1: this should be fun in terms of Freddie P on
- 13:19Speaker 1: the other side of it. 7-3. Cleveland keeps shocking the
- 13:23Speaker 1: world here, taking down the Rays in Game 1 of
- 13:25Speaker 1: the ALCS. That's full count. It is fueled by Marathon,
- 13:29Speaker 1: where fun runs on full. Save up to $ 1 a
- 13:32Speaker 1: gallon with Marathon rewards. And, hey, game one, FoulTerritoryShop.com gear
- 13:38Speaker 1: is out there for the world. There's the race side, too,
- 13:41Speaker 1: but Cleveland won, so we'll show off Jose Ramirez, Stephen Kwan,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and Chase the Lauder shirts. They're sweet. Go get them, FoulTerritoryShop.com. And, lastly,
- 13:49Speaker 1: before we get to the other series, if you're watching
- 13:52Speaker 1: right now, subscribe to FT. That noise might play in
- 13:55Speaker 1: your head. And set the alerts, too. We're live a
- 13:58Speaker 1: lot this month. And let's hit hot corner powered by
- 14:07Speaker 1: MLB nine innings rivals. And we're going to recap NLCS
- 14:10Speaker 1: game two. Wow. We see Yamamoto on the screen there, AJ.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I mean, the Brewers were able to do something that
- 14:18Speaker 1: rarely anybody ever does. I'm talking about any other teams
- 14:21Speaker 1: is they were able to drive up pitch counts per
- 14:23Speaker 1: plate appearance. It was close to six pitches per plate appearance,
- 14:26Speaker 1: of course, highlighted by the epic Jake Bowers, 12 pitch walk,
- 14:30Speaker 1: six fouled off pitches in a row at one point.
- 14:33Speaker 1: What did you think of the Brewers taking both games
- 14:35Speaker 1: at home here? They've been dominant in Milwaukee this year.
- 14:39Speaker 2: This was Brewers.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Again, this was like Brewers 101 baseball, put pressure, foul
- 14:46Speaker 3: pitches off, don't give away at bats. pitch really well
- 14:50Speaker 3: i mean other than the two errors by henderson the
- 14:53Speaker 3: dodgers haven't done shit for two games i'm sorry they
- 14:56Speaker 3: haven't done nothing but they have three hits in this
- 14:58Speaker 3: game the brewers bullpen went five innings in this game
- 15:02Speaker 3: and didn't give up forget it run they didn't give
- 15:05Speaker 3: up a base runner the last five innings the dodgers
- 15:08Speaker 3: did not get a base runner and this was the
- 15:10Speaker 3: concern coming into this series shohei's not healthy i'm sorry
- 15:13Speaker 3: they can say whatever they want he's not right okay
- 15:17Speaker 3: They're not– if they don't hit home runs, they're not
- 15:19Speaker 3: scoring because they have a hard time stringing hits and
- 15:22Speaker 3: hits and hits and hits together because they're not hot.
- 15:24Speaker 3: So this was Brewers baseball to a tee. How do
- 15:27Speaker 3: you win if you're the Brewers? You get guys on base.
- 15:30Speaker 3: You put pressure on the other team. You occasionally hit
- 15:33Speaker 3: a big home run like William Contreras so he can
- 15:34Speaker 3: get the bazooka out and shoot it into the bullpen
- 15:37Speaker 3: every time. And you get your Ashby, Uribe, and McGill
- 15:42Speaker 3: didn't even pitch in this game. And you forgot JoJo
- 15:45Speaker 3: Romero who's filthy.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Okay? And Dustin May came in and did a great
- 15:49Speaker 2: job for them. So this is the Brewers' path.
- 15:53Speaker 3: They're up 2-0. They know at least they're coming back
- 15:55Speaker 3: to Milwaukee. And by the way, they said it yesterday.
- 15:58Speaker 3: McGill said they're not the ones getting swept. They got
- 16:01Speaker 3: a chance to sweep the Dodgers and end all this
- 16:03Speaker 3: crazy talk. When you're watching Yamamoto throw, you're like, this
- 16:08Speaker 3: dude is in complete control of the game. And the
- 16:11Speaker 3: Brewers kind of flipped that switch. The whole game I'm
- 16:14Speaker 3: watching it, I was telling somebody, like, Okay, they brought
- 16:18Speaker 3: in Yamamoto, or they took Yamamoto out. And I don't
- 16:22Speaker 3: remember who came in next after who, but I'm like, man,
- 16:27Speaker 3: they got to move somebody's feet. While the Brewers aren't
- 16:30Speaker 3: taking like hellacious hacks, they're not moving their feet at all.
- 16:34Speaker 2: They're not getting them uncomfortable.
- 16:37Speaker 3: And then Edgardo Hernandez, Edgardo Henriquez, I forget what his
- 16:43Speaker 3: name is.
- 16:43Speaker 2: The guy that throws 103.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Henriquez, Edgardo Henriquez.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Enriquez, thank you, threw 103 up at Cooper Pratt, who's
- 16:50Speaker 3: like 12 years old, threw 103 up at his head
- 16:55Speaker 3: with two strikes.
- 16:57Speaker 2: And I'm like, all right, that's fine. Cooper's not going
- 17:00Speaker 2: to get a hit here.
- 17:01Speaker 3: And he still stayed out on the next ball out
- 17:04Speaker 3: over the plate to be able to dump it out
- 17:06Speaker 3: over there. Like this Brewers team is playing, whether you
- 17:10Speaker 3: think each player individually is good, they're playing collectively. Like
- 17:17Speaker 3: they have not nothing to lose. Like they have this series,
- 17:22Speaker 3: and they're taking it to the Dodgers. Not, well, we'll
- 17:26Speaker 3: see what the Dodgers do. Because they're not even playing perfectly.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Like you would think, ah, the Brewers got to play perfectly.
- 17:32Speaker 3: They got to play error-free. They got to make the
- 17:34Speaker 3: hot shot great plays like Cooper Pratt didn't make. And
- 17:37Speaker 3: they're still winning. It is incredible.
- 17:41Speaker 2: And to be up 2-0 on this team going to LA,
- 17:44Speaker 2: they are in the driver's seat.
- 17:47Speaker 1: And after Yamamoto was best, yeah, he punched out Mitchell
- 17:51Speaker 1: to get out of a little more traffic there. But crazy.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I mean, Yamamoto, that was a 36 pitch inning. He
- 17:58Speaker 1: had 75 pitches, two and two thirds. I mean, last
- 18:01Speaker 1: year he was pitching in the NLCS in Milwaukee, a
- 18:04Speaker 1: complete game to show the difference of what Milwaukee does.
- 18:07Speaker 1: It's not just contact. It's not just bunts. It's not
- 18:10Speaker 1: just stolen bases. They work counts.
- 18:14Speaker 2: They take pitches.
- 18:15Speaker 1: They foul off pitches.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Derek Jeter nailed it when he said what he said
- 18:20Speaker 3: in the postgame. He said, we're talking small ball, we're
- 18:23Speaker 3: talking this and that. And he said the exact thing
- 18:26Speaker 3: that I love. He goes, this is the way baseball
- 18:28Speaker 3: is supposed to be played. You go up there and
- 18:30Speaker 3: you fight your ass off in every at-bat and you
- 18:33Speaker 3: do what the scoreboard tells you need to do. It's
- 18:36Speaker 3: not always you've got to hit a home run.
- 18:38Speaker 2: If you need to bunt, you bunt.
- 18:39Speaker 3: How many times today did we see guys inside the ball,
- 18:43Speaker 3: hitting the ball to right field to get the guy
- 18:45Speaker 3: to third? Both teams did it today with a runner
- 18:47Speaker 3: on second and no outs. Balls inside, they're hitting balls
- 18:51Speaker 3: to right field, the ground balls to get the guy
- 18:53Speaker 3: to third to help their buddy behind them. Mookie did it.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Someone else did it big time today. I think it
- 18:59Speaker 3: was Churio did it. Maybe he did it yesterday. Trujillo
- 19:02Speaker 3: has done it.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Trujillo did it today, right?
- 19:06Speaker 3: Mookie did it when– what's his name was on second base? Geez,
- 19:11Speaker 3: the nine-hole hitter I just blanked.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Sorry. Yeah, Pahez. When Pahez was on second, right?
- 19:16Speaker 3: So these guys are playing the game the right way.
- 19:19Speaker 2: And I know the– listen, the Dodgers do it too.
- 19:21Speaker 3: They just do it on– because they're bigger names, people
- 19:23Speaker 3: think they're just home runs and this and that. But
- 19:26Speaker 3: they do play the game the right way, so I
- 19:27Speaker 3: don't want to take that away from them. But the
- 19:29Speaker 3: Brewers play the game the way the game is supposed
- 19:31Speaker 3: to be played, whether that comes from Pat Murphy, the
- 19:34Speaker 3: coaching staff, Matt Arnold, Mark Antanasio, Bernie Brewer, Bob Euchre,
- 19:39Speaker 3: whoever you want to put it on, they play the
- 19:40Speaker 3: game the right way. And the Dodgers do also, okay?
- 19:42Speaker 3: So it's fun to watch these two teams play. And
- 19:46Speaker 3: the Rays and the Guardians also do this. That's why
- 19:48Speaker 3: these four teams are awesome to watch. they do things
- 19:50Speaker 3: right right like they get guys over they bunt they
- 19:53Speaker 3: play the way baseball is intended it's not just what
- 19:56Speaker 3: we saw in some of the other teams man if
- 19:58Speaker 3: I don't hit a home run we don't score okay
- 20:00Speaker 3: there's other ways to score in baseball than just hitting
- 20:03Speaker 3: a home run and it's a pressure, and it mounts,
- 20:05Speaker 3: and then you wear a pitcher out, you get into
- 20:07Speaker 3: the lesser guys in the bullpen, and then you just
- 20:09Speaker 3: pile on runs at the end. And the two teams
- 20:12Speaker 3: that won today, the Brewers and the Guardians, that's what
- 20:14Speaker 3: they did, and that's why they won.
- 20:17Speaker 2: You can take your shot at hitting a homer. It's okay.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I mean, I saw Sal Frehlich take a couple shots
- 20:22Speaker 3: in different counts. That doesn't mean every single time you're
- 20:25Speaker 3: taking your shot and you're swinging for the downs. The
- 20:30Speaker 3: only thing I was going to say is about the
- 20:32Speaker 3: fact that, you know, the Brewers, yes, they weren't perfect,
- 20:36Speaker 3: all this stuff.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yesterday they won.
- 20:38Speaker 3: An absolutely, like, just a great grind-em-out game, 2-1. And
- 20:46Speaker 3: one of the things that Pat Murphy said, we were
- 20:50Speaker 3: striking out too much. He still put it on them.
- 20:53Speaker 3: He keeps them accountable for the things that they did
- 20:57Speaker 3: throughout the year. And I think last year when– The
- 21:00Speaker 3: series happened like it did. They lost a tough game one.
- 21:04Speaker 3: And then it was like, bing, bang, boom.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Shut out. Going to LA. Otani happened. Over.
- 21:11Speaker 3: And I think just little things that Murph's done has
- 21:14Speaker 3: helped set that tone.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And these guys all believe it.
- 21:18Speaker 3: They either believe it or they're so naive to it
- 21:22Speaker 3: because they're young.
- 21:22Speaker 2: They're just like, we're going to go out and just
- 21:25Speaker 2: do what Murph says. Either way. They're getting huge contributions
- 21:29Speaker 2: from so many different places on this team.
- 21:33Speaker 1: And, you know, there were some changes on the other side.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Edmund was hitting ninth today for L.A. Otani staying in cleanup.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Will Smith going down to five. Teo to Oscar Hernandez
- 21:45Speaker 1: to the three-hole. Katie Wu and Ken Rosenthal, after this game,
- 21:50Speaker 1: put out a story in The Athletic. What are you
- 21:53Speaker 1: looking at me weird?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Three hits. Three hits. They had three hits.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Oh, I'm not saying it worked. I'm saying they made changes.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I know.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I'm just saying.
- 22:01Speaker 1: This is my big lead up. They might make more changes.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Did you see this? Can we show the tweet?
- 22:07Speaker 2: I saw it. It won't happen. No way this happens.
- 22:10Speaker 2: No chance.
- 22:12Speaker 1: They said there's talks that they might bench Shohei Otani.
- 22:17Speaker 2: In game three. No chance.
- 22:20Speaker 1: The fact that they're even talking about this, AJ, means
- 22:22Speaker 1: he is really hurt. And as soon as their season ends,
- 22:24Speaker 1: whenever it ends– They're going to announce how hurt he is.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Of course, right shoulder and left knee, right? Isn't it
- 22:31Speaker 3: right shoulder and left knee? You know where he got
- 22:34Speaker 3: both those injuries from?
- 22:36Speaker 1: Pitching.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what he's not going to do next year?
- 22:40Speaker 1: You don't think he's going to pitch? Wow.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Nope.
- 22:45Speaker 1: And we're not laughing at the injury just.
- 22:47Speaker 2: For everyone to know.
- 22:48Speaker 1: This is a long history injury. Of AJ and Kratz
- 22:51Speaker 1: talking this year about some concerns with Otani going a
- 22:54Speaker 1: full workload all season long, and that didn't happen. Of course,
- 22:57Speaker 1: he got hurt.
- 22:59Speaker 2: This year?
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I said it when he signed the contract, Scott.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I know.
- 23:02Speaker 3: How many years until he doesn't pitch anymore? And you
- 23:05Speaker 3: guys all laughed. He's going to pitch all 10 years.
- 23:08Speaker 3: I'm like, he might wake up one day and say,
- 23:10Speaker 3: I ain't pitching anymore. And that day might come next year.
- 23:14Speaker 3: It already happened this year because he was hurt. He
- 23:16Speaker 3: already missed a year because he had the arm problems, right?
- 23:19Speaker 3: So that's already a bunch of years he's missed without pitching.
- 23:22Speaker 3: This year he tried to pitch. He did great until
- 23:25Speaker 3: he got hurt. And now he can't hit because he
- 23:27Speaker 3: got hurt from pitching.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Sorry. I love Otani. I think he's awesome. I think
- 23:33Speaker 2: he's one of the.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Greatest things I've ever seen when he can pitch and
- 23:35Speaker 3: hit because I've never seen anybody be able to do this.
- 23:38Speaker 3: But at some point, is the juice worth the squeeze?
- 23:43Speaker 2: I don't know. I ain't Otani. I can't make that decision.
- 23:47Speaker 1: And no, there's some in the chat just saying, Kratz,
- 23:49Speaker 1: we're not laughing at the injury. Nobody's laughing at the injury.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Who's dumb enough to think that we're laughing at an injury? Exactly.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I'm just making sure.
- 23:59Speaker 1: He is more valuable to the Dodgers as a hitter
- 24:03Speaker 1: than a pitcher. Correct?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Because they have a lot of pitching, yes.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:09Speaker 3: And he was nasty and good for him for trying
- 24:11Speaker 3: to push for the Cy Young, all that stuff, but
- 24:14Speaker 3: not to break down mechanically what is going on, but
- 24:17Speaker 3: you can see, and he's got an unorthodox swing in
- 24:21Speaker 3: the sense of like, you know, it's that Japanese swing
- 24:24Speaker 3: where he can like move away from the plate. Like
- 24:28Speaker 3: you would like some coaches would be like, Oh, you're
- 24:30Speaker 3: pulling off. Like, They move away from the plate, but
- 24:33Speaker 3: they never move their core away from center, and then
- 24:37Speaker 3: they're able to fire through. It looks like when he
- 24:41Speaker 3: moves away from the plate, when he goes to take
- 24:44Speaker 3: his approach to the ball, it looks like there's nothing
- 24:47Speaker 3: behind it. And so right front shoulder, back left knee.
- 24:55Speaker 3: It's something that is clearly bugging him. I have a
- 25:00Speaker 3: hard time believing it. raise your hand if you think
- 25:03Speaker 3: he is not in the lineup for game three.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't do it. I wanted to, but I
- 25:13Speaker 1: can't do it. I think that you have to have
- 25:15Speaker 1: his blessing to sit him.
- 25:18Speaker 2: He's going to come back.
- 25:19Speaker 1: No way. He's going to come back. And also, I mean,
- 25:21Speaker 1: they have a day, they have a travel day, right?
- 25:24Speaker 1: So good luck convincing him right there. There's a longer
- 25:27Speaker 1: term picture here, AJ. Okay. It's not like he's done nothing.
- 25:31Speaker 1: He just doesn't have any pop for a while now.
- 25:34Speaker 1: He can still work a walk. He can still get
- 25:36Speaker 1: a knock. He is a shell of himself, but convincing
- 25:39Speaker 1: him to sit when he's got that many years left
- 25:42Speaker 1: on his deal and all he's done for them.
- 25:45Speaker 3: What an awkward swing. What an awkward swing against, uh,
- 25:48Speaker 3: was it Romero when he swung and like flipped the bat?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Like what? I've never seen anybody even swing like that before.
- 25:54Speaker 3: That was, that was really awkward and By the way,
- 25:56Speaker 3: on the right of the screen, Aaron Ashby, he's absolutely disgusting.
- 25:59Speaker 2: By the way. Oh my gosh.
- 26:03Speaker 3: He's not fair. I wish I remember what the exact
- 26:07Speaker 3: number is. It's that Stuff Plus, which I don't even
- 26:09Speaker 3: understand what it is, but Trevor McGill was on the
- 26:12Speaker 3: show and he was joking. He calls them either 236
- 26:15Speaker 3: or 216, whatever it is.
- 26:19Speaker 2: It shows.
- 26:20Speaker 3: I don't know what Stuff Plus exactly means other than
- 26:23Speaker 3: He is nasty. The hitters will tell you if you
- 26:26Speaker 3: should be in the game or not. And the hitters
- 26:29Speaker 3: on the Dodgers are good. While they're struggling right now,
- 26:32Speaker 3: they are really good and really good at grinding out
- 26:34Speaker 3: at bats. He has dominated them the first two games
- 26:39Speaker 3: of the series to go along with what he did
- 26:41Speaker 3: the last series against the Padres.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yeah, their bullpen is insane. Insane right now. It's the
- 26:49Speaker 1: underrated story. I mean, AJ covered a lot last round.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Everybody talks about the Padres and their names and what
- 26:55Speaker 1: they've done the last few years. The Brewers had a
- 26:57Speaker 1: better bullpen ERA this year, right, AJ? They were number
- 27:00Speaker 1: one in bullpen ERA.
- 27:01Speaker 2: They were number one.
- 27:01Speaker 1: They just kind of snuck right in there into number one.
- 27:04Speaker 1: And there's a fearsome four right now. It's not one, two.
- 27:08Speaker 1: It's four.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It's more than four. It's more than four.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but four. There's a core four in their highest leverage. Well, yes,
- 27:16Speaker 1: Romero pitched well. No. I mean, isn't it Hall, Uribe, McGill,
- 27:21Speaker 1: and Ashby? Obviously, Romero pitched well today, but those are the.
- 27:25Speaker 2: He's trusted. Romero's trusted in a lefty pocket. Trust me.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Murph trusts him.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Murph talked about him and said how he can use
- 27:32Speaker 3: him anywhere, but he really trusts him against lefties. So
- 27:35Speaker 3: there's five at least that they have that they trust.
- 27:38Speaker 3: They haven't even thrown Drohan. They haven't thrown Patrick yet.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I mean, they haven't even– those two guys haven't even
- 27:44Speaker 3: touched the mound and they've, you know, won four out
- 27:46Speaker 3: of five in the– or was it five out of
- 27:48Speaker 3: six now in the postseason. Those three– those two guys who– Now,
- 27:52Speaker 3: one of them is going to have to start game four.
- 27:54Speaker 2: We'll see who it is.
- 27:55Speaker 3: I think one of them, I'm not going to mention name,
- 27:56Speaker 3: might have a little injury bug that's keeping them out.
- 27:59Speaker 2: But they got pitching. They got pitching.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Dustin May gave them a– what we've talked about on
- 28:07Speaker 3: this post show is trades. Dustin May gave them a
- 28:11Speaker 3: huge inning. I honestly kind of questioned it. Correct me
- 28:15Speaker 3: if I'm wrong. I think the game was tied at
- 28:17Speaker 3: that time. Or maybe they were behind.
- 28:20Speaker 2: I forget. I forget.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I think they were behind because that's when Logan didn't
- 28:28Speaker 3: feel the bunt and he threw it away. He gave
- 28:31Speaker 3: him a huge inning there. How many guys– like he
- 28:35Speaker 3: might start game four.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I don't know. Like there is– No, he won't. You
- 28:40Speaker 2: don't think so? I watched him start in San Diego.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I don't think they'll start him. Okay.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:47Speaker 2: But then you have all those other guys.
- 28:49Speaker 1: You gave up the sack fly too to Freddie Freeman. Yeah,
- 28:52Speaker 1: I mean, it was 3-3 in the fifth. And, yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 1: he pitched okay. But, yeah, I mean, that was when
- 28:57Speaker 1: Mookie had the ground ball to move the runner over
- 28:59Speaker 1: and he did the fist pump. And then Freddie had
- 29:00Speaker 1: the sack fly right after that to score Edmund and
- 29:02Speaker 1: make it 4-3. Yeah. So there was still a damage.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I don't think he'll start. I don't think he'll start.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I just don't. I mean, he's got a great arm.
- 29:13Speaker 3: I just don't think they trust him to start. They
- 29:15Speaker 3: trusted him to try to get out of that inning.
- 29:17Speaker 3: He did fine.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I think you see Patrick or Drohan.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Starting game four. I mean, we already know that Gasser's
- 29:24Speaker 3: starting game three. I just don't think they trust Dustin May.
- 29:29Speaker 3: It's going to be tough because they're not going to
- 29:32Speaker 3: give Gasser a ton of innings either. So this is
- 29:36Speaker 3: where they're going to get into three games in a row. Gasser,
- 29:41Speaker 3: I mean, what can you expect out of Gasser?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Three innings? Four innings?
- 29:48Speaker 3: And then you have another starter in Drohan or Patrick
- 29:52Speaker 3: who gives you another three, possibly four innings? Like, they're
- 29:56Speaker 3: going to be taxed. They are going to be taxed.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Yep.
- 30:01Speaker 2: We knew this.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:03Speaker 2: This is where you get caught. That's how this works.
- 30:05Speaker 3: In the middle three, when you have to play three
- 30:06Speaker 3: games in a row is where you get caught.
- 30:08Speaker 2: This is where you kind of get caught.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but the Dodgers have only gotten– they've gotten less
- 30:13Speaker 1: than eight innings out of their starters in the first two.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I agree. It's not like they're walking through and guess what?
- 30:17Speaker 1: Blake Snell didn't look good last time around.
- 30:19Speaker 2: He didn't have it. They need Snell and Glass now
- 30:20Speaker 2: to step up.
- 30:21Speaker 3: They need– but they have– at least on paper when
- 30:23Speaker 3: you look at it, you say, okay, do I trust
- 30:25Speaker 3: Blake Snell or Robert Gasser? I test Tyler Gasnow or
- 30:31Speaker 3: Dustin May or Patrick or draw on.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Who do you trust?
- 30:35Speaker 1: Glassnow. Yeah.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I mean, this is why we said they had an advantage.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Even though they barely pitched this year, but they got
- 30:39Speaker 1: paid for October.
- 30:40Speaker 2: But they're paid to pitch this time of year. And
- 30:43Speaker 2: by the way, you get to game five, you got
- 30:45Speaker 2: Miz and Scooble again.
- 30:46Speaker 3: So it's not– listen, all's not lost to the Dodgers.
- 30:49Speaker 2: They're in a tough spot because the Brewers are playing
- 30:51Speaker 2: really well.
- 30:52Speaker 3: And by the way, while we're on the subject of
- 30:53Speaker 3: the Dodgers, Kyle Tucker's looked pretty darn good, so let's
- 30:57Speaker 3: give him a little bit of flowers for the way
- 30:59Speaker 3: he's swung the bat in the postseason. Yeah, well, that's
- 31:01Speaker 3: not saying much because the Dodgers don't have a lot
- 31:03Speaker 3: of hits, but he's swung the bat and he's had
- 31:06Speaker 3: really good at-bats.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Yep, that's how you wipe away a bad regular season.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I mean, same crats with your old teammate, Christian Yellich,
- 31:13Speaker 1: didn't have a good year. He came up with, I mean,
- 31:16Speaker 1: he was huge in this one today and he's had
- 31:18Speaker 1: a good postseason so far. It's really what, him, William
- 31:21Speaker 1: Contreras had a huge, huge game too. for these guys,
- 31:25Speaker 1: including smash terrain. Yeah. I mean, their big boys are
- 31:31Speaker 1: showing up here.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I mean, David Hamilton didn't start the first game and
- 31:36Speaker 3: then he comes in and scores three runs. Like the
- 31:39Speaker 3: speed that he has, that'll be something that's kind of,
- 31:42Speaker 3: we didn't get really into nuts and bolts. The fact
- 31:45Speaker 3: that glass now is not going to hold runners. So
- 31:48Speaker 3: whenever glass now pitches are the brewers going to unleash
- 31:53Speaker 3: the the running is Will Smith going to be able
- 31:56Speaker 3: to mix and match and be able to keep them
- 31:59Speaker 3: like there's, there's dynamics that the Brewers, they haven't played
- 32:04Speaker 3: clean defense. They haven't been running all over the place.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Like you would think they would. And they're still winning
- 32:11Speaker 3: these games. So it's not like they're just playing out
- 32:13Speaker 3: of their mind. They can't, you know, but right now
- 32:16Speaker 3: to me, it's either William Contreras is the MVP or Ashby.
- 32:25Speaker 2: They ran when they could. They ran when they could,
- 32:28Speaker 2: did they?
- 32:29Speaker 3: I mean, Will Smith made one really good throw, but
- 32:31Speaker 3: other than that, they were running when they could. And
- 32:34Speaker 3: they're going to take advantage of it.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Trust me.
- 32:35Speaker 3: There's one thing Murph and the scouts for the Brewers
- 32:38Speaker 3: and the front office and everyone for the Brewers is
- 32:41Speaker 3: going to tell you, they take advantage of every opportunity
- 32:43Speaker 3: they have. And so I think that they're going to.
- 32:46Speaker 2: You'll see them. You'll see them. If they got something
- 32:48Speaker 2: on Snell's move, they'll take off. If they have something
- 32:50Speaker 2: on Glassnow, he's slower. Guess what?
- 32:54Speaker 3: They're going to take off. That's what the Brewers do.
- 32:55Speaker 3: They take advantage of any little mistakes. And by the way,
- 32:58Speaker 3: those two throws by Henderson, Berf was not very happy.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I think he was upset at William on the first one.
- 33:07Speaker 2: I'll be honest.
- 33:08Speaker 1: For the pickoff throw? Yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Because he said in his interview, he's like, why are
- 33:13Speaker 3: we throwing over there on a guy who's not going
- 33:16Speaker 3: in that situation? They're like, Mookie's not going in that situation.
- 33:21Speaker 3: And then you saw Murph yelling... towards home plate. Maybe
- 33:24Speaker 3: that was his way of not yelling directly at Logan.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Well, don't yell too much at wild bill tied up
- 33:32Speaker 1: the game early on, on a tough pitch, right? That
- 33:35Speaker 1: was a, a slider, not easy to dig for on
- 33:38Speaker 1: two strikes, tie up the game. And then I had
- 33:40Speaker 1: a four 36 foot bomb later on. I mean, he
- 33:44Speaker 1: had some clutch knocks.
- 33:45Speaker 2: He's having a great season. He's having a huge season.
- 33:49Speaker 3: He is.
- 33:49Speaker 2: He's a fun one. Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I've never seen anybody like pause, pimp, blooper into left field.
- 33:59Speaker 3: I thought it was a sack fly. I was like, oh,
- 34:01Speaker 3: he's juiced to hit a sack fly. And then it
- 34:04Speaker 3: was like 36 seconds or something. It took him to
- 34:06Speaker 3: get around the bases. I bet that plate was standard.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Did you watch our last series where he hit the
- 34:12Speaker 3: home runs? He went 37 seconds on one and 34
- 34:15Speaker 3: we had him. At one point, we didn't ever run it.
- 34:19Speaker 3: We never ran it. Maybe they'll run it this time.
- 34:21Speaker 3: but we synced up his home run trot around the bases.
- 34:25Speaker 3: We were going to do it, but we never got
- 34:26Speaker 3: a chance to. And I think it was game three
- 34:28Speaker 3: or game four and he was running and it was
- 34:30Speaker 3: like the, it was like the, uh, the stack cast
- 34:33Speaker 3: guy running around the bases and we were going to
- 34:36Speaker 3: show a pitch and then he was still going and
- 34:39Speaker 3: then we're going to show another pitch and he was
- 34:40Speaker 3: still going with this, you know, like stop that he
- 34:43Speaker 3: would stop. Like the little guy would stop or he stops,
- 34:46Speaker 3: you know, and pause. So every time the guy stopped,
- 34:48Speaker 3: we were going to show a pitch and then, just
- 34:50Speaker 3: to show how long it took him. It was pretty awesome.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I know we didn't run it. We just never got to,
- 34:54Speaker 3: but it was pretty funny.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Today was 35.7 seconds on the home run track.
- 35:01Speaker 1: So he's, He's soaking up the moment.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Good for him, man. In the game we play today,
- 35:07Speaker 3: good for him. He used to get thrown at and
- 35:10Speaker 3: guys used to get mad. In the game we play today,
- 35:13Speaker 3: soak it up, man.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Take it all in. Who cares?
- 35:16Speaker 3: The other team don't care. Why should anyone else? Why
- 35:19Speaker 3: should some old retired guy care? The other team he's
- 35:22Speaker 3: playing against don't care?
- 35:23Speaker 1: No.
- 35:25Speaker 2: It was a bomb, too. It was a bomb. And
- 35:29Speaker 2: he knew it right away. It was awesome.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a tying shot. Then you had the
- 35:33Speaker 1: go-ahead knock that we're talking about where he turned it
- 35:36Speaker 1: into almost looking like a walk-off to pull off the
- 35:41Speaker 1: knock there. So good for him. Good for the Brewers.
- 35:43Speaker 1: They're up 2-0. They're two games away from their first
- 35:45Speaker 1: World Series appearance since 1982. We'll wrap it up in
- 35:50Speaker 1: a second. We want to thank MLB Rivals 26. MLB

- 36:14Speaker 1: commercial from Bryce Harper, and then we'll wrap it up
- 36:17Speaker 1: on the other side.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Take a look at today's lineup. It does not get
- 36:24Speaker 2: any better than that.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Harper, the shave of his life.
- 36:28Speaker 1: That's why they call him the face of the franchise, folks.
- 36:36Speaker 2: From the first half to the last out, MLB nine
- 36:42Speaker 2: innings rivals always brings baseball to life.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Good stuff. And for Brewers fans, if you're all fired up,
- 36:52Speaker 1: we have Brewers merch, FowlTerritoryShop.com, Terang, Yelich, and many more
- 36:57Speaker 1: fun ones. The first one we ever did for the Brewers,
- 37:01Speaker 1: the Miz. And you can make up what that looks
- 37:04Speaker 1: like with your imagination. Miz loves Pokemon. I'm wearing Jackson
- 37:09Speaker 1: Chury today.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Dude, I got to tell you all this funny story
- 37:11Speaker 3: about Miz. So when Sale was pitching, I didn't know
- 37:15Speaker 3: this about Chris Sale. Miz is like so jealous of
- 37:18Speaker 3: Chris Sale. He's got like an unbelievable Pokemon collection. I
- 37:22Speaker 3: had no idea, Sale, that you had a Pokemon collection.
- 37:25Speaker 3: And so he was talking about it with me in
- 37:27Speaker 3: the locker room, and he's like, do you know the
- 37:30Speaker 3: collection that Chris Sale has for Pokemon?
- 37:32Speaker 2: And I'm like, dude, what are you talking about?
- 37:35Speaker 3: He started rattling off these things, and I'm literally like,
- 37:40Speaker 3: what are you talking about, dude? And he's like, oh,
- 37:42Speaker 3: Sale went all in, and he bought all these cards,
- 37:44Speaker 3: and he's got all– And I was like, okay, what's
- 37:47Speaker 3: your card you have? And he's like, I don't know.
- 37:50Speaker 3: He said some name or something I never even heard of.
- 37:52Speaker 3: And I was like, how much is that worth? And
- 37:54Speaker 3: he gave me a number, and I was like, a
- 37:56Speaker 3: Pokemon card is worth that number?
- 37:58Speaker 2: He's like, oh, yeah.
- 37:59Speaker 3: And sales got about seven of them. And I'm like, okay,
- 38:02Speaker 3: time to go because I don't know what in the
- 38:04Speaker 3: hell you're talking about, but they are expensive as crap.
- 38:07Speaker 1: That's what he does on his off days. Dude, he's
- 38:09Speaker 1: the dream ace.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Right?
- 38:12Speaker 1: You're like, oh, what's Miz going to do on his
- 38:14Speaker 1: off day? Oh, make sure he doesn't stay out too late. No, actually,
- 38:18Speaker 1: he's going to sleep at 9. He had a busy
- 38:21Speaker 1: day at the card shop for a couple hours.
- 38:23Speaker 2: That's awesome. Good for him, man. It is awesome.
- 38:26Speaker 1: He's a big kid.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Because he's trying to collect the Pikachu Illustrator.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Okay? It's the rarest Pokemon card. Pikachu Illustrator.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I think we've officially hit that time. The rest of
- 38:41Speaker 1: this will get covered on.
- 38:41Speaker 3: By the way, what was the card he got? What
- 38:43Speaker 3: did he get, a one-on-one card for his cleats? A
- 38:45Speaker 3: one-on-one card for his cleats and his jersey? Remember, did
- 38:48Speaker 3: you guys see that in San Diego where he gave
- 38:51Speaker 3: a one-on-one card away, right? Or he got a one-on-one
- 38:53Speaker 3: card of himself. He opened it. He opened it, and
- 38:56Speaker 3: he was super juiced, and he told Antonacio, Mark Antonacio,
- 39:00Speaker 3: the owner, he was like right there, and he was juiced,
- 39:02Speaker 3: and he was showing, and Antonacio was like, I'm definitely
- 39:05Speaker 3: going to be able to lock this guy up for cheap.
- 39:08Speaker 2: No, no, no. A guy gave it. A fan gave
- 39:10Speaker 2: it to him in San Diego. Oh, no, I didn't
- 39:14Speaker 2: see that.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Send it to us here.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Let's make a deal.
- 39:17Speaker 3: A fan gave him his one-of-one card, and he gave
- 39:20Speaker 3: him an autographed jersey, and he gave him his cleats
- 39:24Speaker 3: for one of his cards.
- 39:25Speaker 2: A one-of-one.
- 39:26Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 39:26Speaker 2: It was pretty cool.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I did not see that.
- 39:29Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Send it to us. us if you've got it. We
- 39:31Speaker 1: can show it on FT on Tuesday's show. We'll be
- 39:34Speaker 1: on 1 o'clock Eastern time up until 3. We'll get
- 39:36Speaker 1: ready for more games. Zaire Hope, who was the big-deal
- 39:40Speaker 1: prospect that went to the Tigers in the Tarek Skubal trade,
- 39:42Speaker 1: is going to join us live on the show. Good
- 39:44Speaker 1: recapping today. Good night, everyone.
