- 0:00I'm Christina.
- 0:00And I'm t And this is the Pretty and Pink Again podcast.
- 0:03Where Motherhood meets Rediscovery.
- 0:16Take two.
- 0:17Take two, take 50 guys.
- 0:20It's our 50th episode today.
- 0:2450 times behind the mic.
- 0:26I know.
- 0:26It's wild.
- 0:27It's been so crazy.
- 0:28We started our podcast in February last year.
- 0:31Mm-hmm.
- 0:32And I think we took two weeks off, so Yeah.
- 0:34We, here we are.
- 0:3550 episodes in.
- 0:37Cool.
- 0:37I've loved this so much.
- 0:39I know, me too.
- 0:40And we're both just so appreciative of all the support over the last 50 episodes.
- 0:45We obviously wouldn't still be sitting here without support from our listeners and the little community that we have built of Pippa's.
- 0:53And we just, we love you and I love you.
- 0:56T it's been such a great, it's been such a great.
- 1:00Project and business, and I'm just so grateful.
- 1:03And we have a really fun episode today.
- 1:06We do.
- 1:07Yeah.
- 1:07Tea actually was inspired for this episode.
- 1:11I feel like most of our inspiration comes from just like these conversations that we have.
- 1:17Mm-hmm.
- 1:17Or maybe even at conversations that we're involved in directly, but like snippets of things that we're like listening to.
- 1:23Yeah.
- 1:23And hearing.
- 1:23So I went to this networking dinner a couple of weeks ago and I thought this was like a really cute idea.
- 1:31And I actually, we did last weekend when I went away with the girls, I ended up doing it again.
- 1:35And so everybody had a card and you had to ask a question and then you like, kick it off with your own answer and then everybody answers.
- 1:44So my question was, what's your pink spotlight?
- 1:47Because that's like very on brand for me.
- 1:49Yeah.
- 1:49Yeah.
- 1:50But everybody had different questions and one of the questions at the table was.
- 1:57What are things that women don't talk about but you think they should?
- 2:01And I thought that was such a juicy question.
- 2:04So juicy.
- 2:05And a lot of people had overlapping thoughts on the matter.
- 2:08But it was a really like fun game to play.
- 2:10So I highly recommend it.
- 2:11And then last weekend when I was away with the girls, we missed you.
- 2:14I know.
- 2:14You couldn't make it.
- 2:15I know.
- 2:15Because you were doing all fun things.
- 2:16Fun things.
- 2:16We were dancing with the stars.
- 2:17I know.
- 2:17Which was so fun after four meals together.
- 2:20Yeah.
- 2:20I was like, let's play this game.
- 2:22And so everybody went around the table and asked a question.
- 2:25So there was five girls there.
- 2:26So we ended up, there was like five questions in total and it was it was like a fun little And so this was your question.
- 2:31It was a fun game.
- 2:32Yep.
- 2:32Yeah.
- 2:33So I'm curious because I have a feeling, and I'm sure our listeners are probably like already.
- 2:38Ruminating and thinking about what their answers would be.
- 2:41What do you wish more women talked about?
- 2:45What were some of the answers?
- 2:46Because I'm sure we're gonna cover a lot of these, but can you just give us like a couple high level themes maybe of things that people said?
- 2:53Yeah, I don't wanna give away like too much of the conversation that like took place in that room.
- 2:57Of course not.
- 2:57But some of the questions were that they thought that women should talk more about was like sex with their partner marriage things.
- 3:06People don't talk enough about money.
- 3:08That was a huge one, I'm sure.
- 3:09Help.
- 3:10Do you have help?
- 3:11Like transparency around it.
- 3:13Do you have a cleaning person?
- 3:15Do you have help with your children?
- 3:16Do you have help with your work?
- 3:17Do you have an assistant, like just help in general?
- 3:19Mm-hmm.
- 3:19That was like a huge topic.
- 3:21Who's behind the scenes helping you out.
- 3:23Who Yeah.
- 3:23Who's helping you behind the scenes?
- 3:24Like, how do you spend your time?
- 3:26Honestly, how do you spend your time?
- 3:28Yep.
- 3:28How I just thought that those were really good.
- 3:31Talking points.
- 3:32But what we were all finding is that women often stay silent.
- 3:36Because of the fear of judgment.
- 3:39Of course, I'm gonna sound lazy if I say this answer ungrateful or I'm gonna sound privileged.
- 3:44Yep.
- 3:45Like this is an elitist conversation.
- 3:47Yep.
- 3:47Like all of these like bad things.
- 3:48So then women often just, hold, goes withhold and goes silent, which I don't think that's good either.
- 3:55So I think that there is some, like some level of sharing can be very helpful.
- 3:59I also think, obviously you're worried about like the perception, right?
- 4:04You don't wanna look lazy, privileged, needy, like you're doing things wrong, like it's the fear of judgment, like you said.
- 4:12But I think that all of that stems from insecurity.
- 4:16Oh, 100%.
- 4:17I think that when you ask somebody a question.
- 4:22You're curious about something that you can be actionable on.
- 4:25It's very easy to actually ask and listen and gather information, but you have to be prepared that you're not gonna like the information that you are getting when you are in that collective information period.
- 4:36Right.
- 4:36But if you are trying to be like actionable about something specific, it's easier to take bits and pieces from people and then come up with a plan.
- 4:42But when you're asking about things that you are already insecure about, you have to be ready to hear something that maybe you don't like and don't like something.
- 4:50Yep.
- 4:51That's it.
- 4:51You go right back, you revert right back into shutdown mode.
- 4:53Right.
- 4:54Right.
- 4:54So I think that's why women end up whispering about these topics because you're already insecure about them to begin with.
- 5:00Yep.
- 5:00I totally agree.
- 5:01I know I am though.
- 5:01These are all topics that I like.
- 5:03Have at times, whispered about, of course.
- 5:06And we, the whole point of this podcast was to have conversations that are uncomfortable.
- 5:11And a lot of them, a lot of these themes are things that we have almost put in our mission statement of things that we want to make comfortable.
- 5:20No, you don't have to go blasting your business to everybody, but I do think it's important to have a few people around you that you can get like honest feedback around people that you trust.
- 5:31And because I think that it betters you.
- 5:33And some of these things we're gonna talk about, obviously why they're sometimes hush hush topics and what makes'em uncomfortable.
- 5:41But we're also gonna talk about the reasons why we think they're important to bring up, right?
- 5:46So we're gonna go through some of the themes.
- 5:48Let's do it.
- 5:49The first one you already mentioned is hiring help, right?
- 5:53Like that quiet math of running a household and having a life, and motherhood and all of that.
- 6:00Why do you feel like people don't talk about hiring help?
- 6:03Like you said, that could be an assistant at your work.
- 6:05That could be a house cleaner, that could be a house manager, that could be a nanny at your house.
- 6:12Why do you think that it's uncomfortable for people to admit that they have help?
- 6:16The first word that comes to mind is laziness.
- 6:19Yeah.
- 6:19You feel like somebody's gonna think that you're lazy because you're not doing it all right?
- 6:24And we know it's not possible to do it all right?
- 6:26You're not lazy at all.
- 6:27We know this.
- 6:27It's like you almost know that you're not lazy and you know that you can't do it right.
- 6:32You can't do it all at the same time.
- 6:35We've said that so many times here, but yet you still feel weird and guilty, admitting that you have help.
- 6:42And it, and you worry that it makes you sound lazy.
- 6:45Well, Help also sounds like elitist and privilege.
- 6:47Yes.
- 6:47Which, okay.
- 6:48Yes, it is a privilege, but let's get that out of the way.
- 6:51Yes.
- 6:51It's a privilege.
- 6:52But now let's lean into that in a positive way, right?
- 6:55If you are able to have help, what are you using it for?
- 6:59Let's not talk about it like in such, such a bad way.
- 7:02Are you using it so you can better yourself in your career?
- 7:05Are you using it because you're bad at this task and you're better at another task?
- 7:09Or using it because you have multiple children and you actually need to do it.
- 7:13Mm-hmm.
- 7:13Are you using it because you're a single mom and you don't have a husband?
- 7:16I don't know.
- 7:17There's all these different reasons and it doesn't matter the reason.
- 7:20People need help.
- 7:21They do.
- 7:22Everybody needs help.
- 7:23You cannot do it all.
- 7:25We all know this and we all know the ramifications of trying to do it all.
- 7:30And we know it makes us Looney tune.
- 7:33So it's like, why?
- 7:34Why wouldn't this be something that we're comfortable talking about?
- 7:38What I kind of wish, so for example, like cleaning for example.
- 7:41It's how often, what do they do at your house?
- 7:44What don't they do at your house?
- 7:46Okay.
- 7:46Like I feel like some of those things like are not you just bragging that you have a cleaning person.
- 7:51Some of those things are like actually helpful to know.
- 7:53They're also actionable.
- 7:54This actually came up at the dinner.
- 7:55Yeah.
- 7:56'cause I said what do you have your cleaning person do?
- 7:58And I said, I was like, I just wanna ask you, how many of you have a cleaning lady?
- 8:02Okay.
- 8:02And if you have one, when do you have them come?
- 8:04Do you have them come once a week?
- 8:06Do you have them come twice a week?
- 8:07Do you have them come once every other week?
- 8:09Tell me what has worked for you.
- 8:11So I came from it more of a place of I am looking for a better system in my house.
- 8:15'cause the system in my house I feel like is not that great.
- 8:17I've never had a good cleaning system in my house.
- 8:20So tell me some success stories.
- 8:22That was more of a place that it was coming from and then everybody shared.
- 8:26I wasn't looking for validation oh, I have one, so it's okay.
- 8:29Or to compare, or to say oh, I have someone come once a week and you have someone come twice a week.
- 8:33It's not to do that's, it was not to compare at all.
- 8:35It was truly to be like actionable and tell me a good system that works.
- 8:39Mm-hmm.
- 8:39And I think if you come from a place like that, help me find a better system because mine does not.
- 8:45For sure.
- 8:45I think I totally agree.
- 8:46And that reminded me of the episode that we had with Courtney Cecil a couple of months back.
- 8:51Yeah.
- 8:51We always reopen that one because she talked about how important that topic is first of all, admitting it, talking around it, building systems around having help at your house.
- 9:02And she brought up the topic of a house manager, which I thought was just so genius because that was like an actionable item off of that episode was.
- 9:11Maybe like you're having a cleaning person at your house because everybody has a cleaning person at your house and you think that you need to have a cleaning person at your house.
- 9:18She walks into people's homes and into people's lives and actually helps them restructure how they go about.
- 9:26Help in their house.
- 9:27And that's actually something she removes and she, that was the first thing on the list that she removes because she thinks that it's too broad.
- 9:34A lot of the times you're better reallocating that money and those funds into having a house manager to help you get back tasks.
- 9:41She thought like maybe cleaning for example, might not actually take you that long and you can break it up.
- 9:48She's talking about more like families.
- 9:49Like how often do you have a cleaner come to your house and literally the next day it doesn't look like you have a cleaner come to your house.
- 9:56Yeah.
- 9:56Every single time.
- 9:57So that conversation opened up my eyes to that.
- 10:00Maybe that doesn't make sense for us right now.
- 10:03We actually don't have a cleaning person at our house right now, and we break up the tasks and do them.
- 10:10Not all at once.
- 10:11So the whole house doesn't feel clean all of the time.
- 10:14But we get it done together and and then we've reallocated money towards other things that we do need help with.
- 10:22That makes more sense for our family.
- 10:23So the house manager was something that she brought up, like helping you run errands, helping you organize, helping you keep track of like inventory at your house.
- 10:32What are you low on?
- 10:33Ordering Some of those things.
- 10:34Doing some errands, doing returns.
- 10:37Those are the things that actually eat the majority of your time.
- 10:40You can take a whole day doing returns you take.
- 10:42Yep.
- 10:42And running things and replenishing.
- 10:44She actually also said for her,'cause she's a full-time working mom.
- 10:47Mm-hmm.
- 10:47Like food and cooking.
- 10:48Yeah.
- 10:48She said, my kids have to eat every single day three times a day.
- 10:51I have somebody that comes in meal preps for me and meal preps for her.
- 10:54So I don't do that anymore.
- 10:55I'm like, you don't you?
- 10:57But I was thinking that the hours that I spend cooking it's like I'm a prisoner to my kitchen island for sure.
- 11:02For probably three hours a day.
- 11:03For sure.
- 11:04Those are three hours that I spend every single day cooking for my family.
- 11:07So some of this is just conversation that I think opening this up, you're like, wow, wait.
- 11:14We do that.
- 11:15And sometimes you're just on the hamster wheel, like you're doing it'cause you think that's what you're supposed to do.
- 11:19And sometimes having these conversations opens your mind up to different ideas that might be better systems for your family and might which is not actually a privilege thing.
- 11:28Yes.
- 11:29Which it actually might save you some money or it might just open up your eyes to maybe reallocate the money differently.
- 11:35So let's talk about help with kids.
- 11:38Yes.
- 11:38When I used to work at the hospital, it was understood that if you came to work in the morning and you had young children, you were dropping them off at school, at daycare, at grandma's house, you were dropping your kids off somewhere.
- 11:49You had help.
- 11:50It was just understood.
- 11:52Yeah.
- 11:52I think you didn't have to talk about it.
- 11:54It was understood if you were coming to work in person.
- 11:56You had help with your kids.
- 11:57Yeah.
- 11:57You had to.
- 11:58Everybody had it in some capacity, or if your kids were home sick.
- 12:01You had help stay home with your kids that were homesick.
- 12:03You weren't calling out sick when you were working at the hospital.
- 12:06Very rarely were the moms or somebody like me that didn't have kids would cover the shift.
- 12:10Yeah, that was the gold standard.
- 12:12I think how times have changed and jobs have become so much more flexible and we have all these new jobs that are work from home jobs.
- 12:19Yeah, and you could probably speak to this, you're still working.
- 12:23Yeah.
- 12:23The work is still being done, but there is no.
- 12:25Like you were working for many years as a content creator and were watching your peers work, and you didn't realize they had help.
- 12:33Yeah.
- 12:33I can't, I honestly can't believe that we're in 2026 and we're still having this hush hush around childcare because everybody has help with their kids, unless you're staying at home and that's what you're doing, which we know is a full-time job itself, you have to have help with your kids if you're going to work.
- 12:51You have to, you said that whether that was preschool, daycare, like there's somebody helping with the kids.
- 12:58So when I became a parent almost four years ago, I did not even realize that other content creators, other people in my field, other peers, had help with their children.
- 13:12And so I didn't, I just was doing it all.
- 13:16I think that a lot of that led to me having like a mental breakdown, right?
- 13:21But I was trying to do it all.
- 13:23So let's just emphasize that was not good.
- 13:25No, it was not good.
- 13:27I didn't realize that was like okay to do.
- 13:29I thought that I could do it all and I remember having a conversation with one of my girlfriends, who's another content creator, and I was talking about working in between Leo's naps.
- 13:42Literally I would put him down for naps and then I would be crazy trying to get everything done, filming, editing, responding to emails, concepting campaigns, all of this.
- 13:55You were trying to work all whole job.
- 13:56I was trying to work a full-time job in two hours and squeeze in his naps, and then I was lucky at that time.
- 14:02My mom was coming up pretty consistently.
- 14:05Once a week would help me out for that day, but I was eight.
- 14:10Crazy person trying to basically do a full-time job in those hours.
- 14:14And I remember talking to a peer of mine and she said, wait a minute, you don't have somebody that's watching your kid.
- 14:21And I said, I do you.
- 14:23I didn't know that people have help with their kids because even influencers, and I'm an influencer and a content creator.
- 14:30I was thinking that people like, people don't share this.
- 14:33They don't say, somebody's with our kids.
- 14:35Our kids are in school.
- 14:37We have somebody home with them when they're not in school.
- 14:39Or maybe their kids are little and it's just not very clear.
- 14:44And so me as somebody in this space was completely duped into thinking that other people doing their job were do, were trying to do it the same way as I was.
- 14:54And no, this girl had a nanny at her house.
- 14:58No, I have a nanny at my house.
- 15:00Do you think that four days a week, do you think that people aren't sharing because they're just trying to protect, like the image, like the image?
- 15:06Or is it like they're trying to protect like the privacy of their employer?
- 15:09I think that's because you've, you don't share on your social media.
- 15:13I don't share that.
- 15:14A nanny, I don't share my actual nanny.
- 15:16But you don't share on there that you have a nanny up, like front and personal.
- 15:20There you go.
- 15:20Yes.
- 15:21I'm just saying not to call you up, but I'm just saying yeah, but why do you think that is?
- 15:24Maybe,'cause here you feel comfortable ta it's not like you don't feel comfortable talking about it.
- 15:28It's true.
- 15:28It's very true.
- 15:29Is it that you don't feel comfortable like showing it?
- 15:31What's difference?
- 15:31I definitely don't feel comfortable showing it because it's for privacy reasons.
- 15:35I try to be, I try to be protective of my kids.
- 15:38It's privacy reasons, of course.
- 15:38But I do agree, like when I'm sitting in this chair, I'm rattling off that I have help all day long.
- 15:44But I guess it's not something that gets weaved into the content.
- 15:47Yeah.
- 15:47And maybe that is something that makes a lot of sense.
- 15:49Like I, I could say day in my life when the nanny gets here, this is what I do.
- 15:54But it's, it.
- 15:56One of those things where I guess it's not, so I guess it just, it doesn't, it, it doesn't necessarily matter the reason.
- 16:03It doesn't get shown.
- 16:04So you, it's not discussed.
- 16:05It doesn't get shown, so it's not discussed.
- 16:07And so I had no idea that other people were doing their jobs and doing them well, and probably doing them to a better capacity than I was because I was working part-time.
- 16:18So they were working smarter and productive.
- 16:20Yes.
- 16:20They were working full-time jobs with help and I was working part-time with no help but it was just something that I didn't really think about because it's not discussed.
- 16:32And so I ran myself into the ground that year, just not really working smarter and I was working harder.
- 16:39Luckily somebody tipped you off.
- 16:41Yeah.
- 16:42So you could, I said, wait, is this an unspoken so you could make a change?
- 16:44I said, is this an unspoken rule?
- 16:46Yeah.
- 16:46Everybody has help.
- 16:47I'm like, what?
- 16:48And so I can totally understand how like a consumer of that content would totally not think that people have help.
- 16:55And they definitely do.
- 16:57I know content creators that have nannies that have that send their kids to full-time daycare, and it's just not something that's talked about.
- 17:05It's a job.
- 17:06It's a job.
- 17:06You're your job.
- 17:07You're working your job.
- 17:08Just like any, just like anything else.
- 17:09Yeah.
- 17:09But I just think that when your job is from home, I, and.
- 17:13It doesn't get the same maybe level of respect as it would if you were leaving and going somewhere else.
- 17:18I totally agree.
- 17:19Right.
- 17:19So maybe that's what it is.
- 17:20Maybe there's some shame involved in that.
- 17:22Yeah.
- 17:22I think that, honestly, I'm sure the last like several years with more positions going to that work from home model.
- 17:29I'm sure so many people can relate to that.
- 17:32I honestly remember thinking before we had kids, people would meet my husband and I who are both, we both own our own businesses.
- 17:40And both work for ourselves.
- 17:42People would say to us all the time, oh, that's great because the kids will just be home with you.
- 17:48And we were like, oh yeah.
- 17:50Not realizing that of course they're, we're going to need help.
- 17:54And so it's just crazy to me that's ingrained still.
- 17:57And i'm sure that people hear that like whispering, right?
- 18:00And then that gets in your head, right?
- 18:02And so then that would make you feel like, oh, okay, so is it not okay that we have help even though we're trying to work, it's very much okay for you to have help.
- 18:10And I think then that goes back to what we were originally saying.
- 18:13Then you don't end up talking to people about what you're doing because if somebody says something like that to you, then you're like, oh, wait.
- 18:18Yeah.
- 18:19So we are home.
- 18:20So then, so I guess have in the kids should be home.
- 18:22Right?
- 18:22Exactly.
- 18:23I guess we should be doing this all, so should we be doing this?
- 18:26But that's not, you don't have to do it that way.
- 18:28I think that the lesson here overall and the way we can reframe and the benefit to talking about these things is that delegating doesn't mean that you're failing or that you're lazy.
- 18:41It means that.
- 18:42You're protecting your energy.
- 18:43Yeah.
- 18:44You're protecting a lot.
- 18:45The whole point of opening up these conversations is to help other people find a system that works for them.
- 18:52What works for one isn't gonna work for all right?
- 18:54But if you can share what is working for yourself or share with somebody what's not working maybe they can give you a tip on how to make you work more efficiently.
- 19:01Yep.
- 19:02Have women share options versus, like comparisons.
- 19:06Yes.
- 19:06I think that options are so helpful.
- 19:08Like even just to say for, I keep, I'm relating it back to me, but I remember asking people like, okay, so now you do have help at home, right?
- 19:17So you have a nanny come to your house.
- 19:19What hours do they come?
- 19:20How does that make sense?
- 19:21Like it's helpful to know you're not just trying Yeah.
- 19:24What hours are most beneficial to you?
- 19:25Yeah.
- 19:25For somebody in this job that's working okay, then how do you have them come?
- 19:29What hours do they come?
- 19:31What do they do?
- 19:31What do they do?
- 19:32I think that all of thats, but you have to helpful help.
- 19:36And asking for help and being okay with somebody knowing you want help.
- 19:40Before you can then get to what do they do?
- 19:42Right.
- 19:42So I think that once you hit that first layer, which that's what we're trying to remove.
- 19:46Yep.
- 19:46Then get into the nitty gritty, like, how do you make this work?
- 19:49How do you do it?
- 19:49Give me the juicy nuggets.
- 19:51Like how, when do you have them come?
- 19:52Yeah.
- 19:53Yep.
- 19:53Do you, what do you have them do for you?
- 19:55Yeah.
- 19:55Do you have them help you with laundry?
- 19:56Do you have them like meal prep?
- 19:58Do you have them take your kids out of the house so then you can be by yourself?
- 20:02Yep.
- 20:02How do you feel comfortable with them driving your kids?
- 20:04I don't know.
- 20:04I just think that all of these are questions that we have ruminating in our minds.
- 20:09Yeah.
- 20:09When you have somebody watching your child.
- 20:11Yep.
- 20:11I totally agree.
- 20:12And all of those I think are.
- 20:14Questions that were going on in my mind, and all of those were worked out because I was having conversations with people about it.
- 20:21Yeah.
- 20:23Today's episode is brought to you by Sam Funmi, a luxe hair salon in Avon, Connecticut.
- 20:27If you've ever wished for thicker, fuller, wow hair that still gives you that natural look, she is your girl.
- 20:33Sam is the bombshell hair extension queen and one that Christine and I trust for our own hair.
- 20:38And trust us when we say we've tried everything.
- 20:41These extensions feel incredibly natural.
- 20:43You can put your hair up, wear it down, style it however you want, and it looks seamless.
- 20:47What makes Sam's work so different is the method.
- 20:50The bombshell hair extensions use minimal points of contact and soft blended waves, which means no pulling at your roots, and no stress on your natural hair that supports healthy regrowth instead of damaging it.
- 21:02Bombshell hair is the highest quality of hair, and Sam is a true extension specialist.
- 21:07Every install is customized, blended, and tailored to your hair and lifestyle.
- 21:12And the best part, these extensions are low maintenance.
- 21:14They last about 12 weeks and the monthly move up only take a few minutes, and honestly, it's a little treat to pop into the salon sometimes I even treat myself to a wash and blow dry when I'm there for my move up.
- 21:24So if you've been thinking about extensions, start with somebody you can trust.
- 21:28Start with Sam for our pretty and pink again, listeners use Cold Pippa for$100 off your next insulation.
- 21:35This is for new installs and new clients Only you can find Sam on Instagram at Paint Love Blend So another one that you said came up at the dinner, which of course would be the number one thing is money.
- 21:47That's what I would think.
- 21:48Sure.
- 21:49Yeah.
- 21:49I think there's a lot of shame involving money sometimes.
- 21:52Mm-hmm.
- 21:53Like some women I don't think have any financial literacy whatsoever, so they don't really even know how to talk about money.
- 21:59They don't know like.
- 22:01How their finances are.
- 22:02Or some women just don't feel comfortable talking about money because it's a shared thing between them and their husband.
- 22:07Yeah.
- 22:07Like you can get protective about it and you feel like maybe you're protective of it.
- 22:11Yeah.
- 22:11But people don't talk about it.
- 22:12But I think you can talk about money without talking about numbers.
- 22:17We don't need to be talking about what exactly things cost, but we can talk about like ways we save money, things that we spend our money on is a personal thing.
- 22:27And it also reflects what your values are.
- 22:29So if you are spending money on a trip, you may not be spending money on, I don't know, your home.
- 22:36So when you talk about money, you have to also step away from a comparison trap.
- 22:41Yes.
- 22:42'cause you're not, you're not comparing apples to apples all the time when you're talking about money.
- 22:46Money.
- 22:46Yep.
- 22:46Which again, I think that's why maybe people don't Yep.
- 22:49Also money.
- 22:50Talking about money again, goes back to those things like, it sounds privileged, it sounds elitist, but not if you don't have any money and you're trying to figure out how to make it.
- 22:59Yeah, that's true.
- 23:00I dunno yeah, I think you can ask about money, like how are you saving in like a peaceful way?
- 23:04How are you saving for college?
- 23:05How are you making this work?
- 23:07Like how are you save for projects around your home or, yeah.
- 23:11And also to, not to spoil this, but we actually have a financial expert coming on our podcast in a couple weeks.
- 23:16I know.
- 23:17I'm so excited to talk a about money.
- 23:19I know.
- 23:19So we're gonna lift the veil and really get into that.
- 23:22We're gonna talk a lot about money with Jane Sullivan, which I'm really excited about.
- 23:25I, I, she's coming, in a couple weeks into the studio to talk about money.
- 23:28That's gonna be great.
- 23:29So I'm sure we're gonna get into a lot of that because we're gonna talk about the emotional aspect of it too and the shame around it.
- 23:36So we're gonna get into that a little bit more in a couple weeks.
- 23:39Another one is just like body image in general.
- 23:41Yeah.
- 23:42The whole conversation of like body image and like what it takes to maintain a weight.
- 23:46How you have to be disciplined with eating and making good choices and movement and all the work that goes into maintaining a weight at this age.
- 23:53I feel like this is important too with the bounce back culture, which we always talk about how much we hate.
- 23:59Oh, yeah.
- 23:59Because I feel like it's just it just feels so icky to talk about bodies.
- 24:04But I think that a lot of it comes down to jealousy.
- 24:10With my hormone health, like my weight has been all over the place, so I have just now put back on weight and I feel like the last couple of years I'm just like, can I stay a specific size?
- 24:21It's like drives me crazy.
- 24:23Just the up and down.
- 24:24So you're thinking to Yes.
- 24:25How You don't talk about weight fluctuation Don and how frustrating.
- 24:28It's don't Yes.
- 24:28I feel like the, I don't think that is something that's discussed.
- 24:31It is not.
- 24:32And I feel and that is maddening.
- 24:33It is maddening.
- 24:35It is maddening and I feel like it, it ends up trickling into every single aspect of your life.
- 24:41Like right now, I just feel like I spent the last couple of years like rebuilding back my wardrobe and then I start working on my hormone health and now I'm up a size and I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 24:52You know what I mean?
- 24:53All the things I just started reinvesting in.
- 24:55Wait, can we just say, we were talked about this off camera the other day about how, so Christina is doing a really good job of putting herself first.
- 25:02Oh yeah.
- 25:02And taking care of her hormone health.
- 25:03Yeah.
- 25:04She's eating healthy, she's feeling better and she's looking amazing.
- 25:07But we were teasing off camera about how like.
- 25:11You were working on getting your sodium levels up.
- 25:13Yeah.
- 25:13'cause you couldn't absorb any nutrients.
- 25:15Yep.
- 25:15'cause you had no sodium.
- 25:16Guess what happened?
- 25:17So she was telling us me this story about how she gained a few pounds because now it's all water weight, sodium levels are high.
- 25:24So she has water weight.
- 25:25And so we were saying that it's like mean girls.
- 25:27Like mean girls.
- 25:28The INE bars.
- 25:29Yep.
- 25:29It's all water weight you're gonna gain and then you're gonna lose five pounds.
- 25:32Like that.
- 25:32Like that.
- 25:33And I'm like, that's what, are they feeding you INE bars?
- 25:35Yeah, basically.
- 25:36So now my sodium is up, it's better for my nutrient absorption, but I'm holding on all this water weight.
- 25:43And now it's every single pant that I just invested back in is tight on me.
- 25:48My rings are tight on me.
- 25:49I'm like, how are we back here again?
- 25:51Because that drives me crazy, because then it's all of the stuff that we've talked about in the podcast where it's I go into my closet and what should be easy because I've spent time making a capsule wardrobe.
- 26:03Now nothing fits again.
- 26:05I know.
- 26:06So literally I, it is something that you feel, that I feel funky talking about and like even to me, like I don't feel right because you're not overweight and you don't have weight issues.
- 26:17And then I funny talking about it, right?
- 26:19Because I'm like, then someone might look at me and be like, what is she complaining about?
- 26:22But it's just it's an internal thing.
- 26:25Yeah.
- 26:25And it's sometimes, again, it's something that it's like to vent or to feel heard or to just, to be like what did you do in this situation?
- 26:33How are you feeling better about yourself in this situation?
- 26:36It is definitely.
- 26:38Something that feels funny.
- 26:39Talking about, even for me, weight fluctuation is Yes, very frustrating.
- 26:44Especially when it's affecting like a bunch of different things.
- 26:46Yeah.
- 26:46And I feel like it like leads to jealousy and I don't, and I don't even mean for me, it's not like jealousy oh, I wish I had her body.
- 26:55It's I wish I felt comfortable in my body, so I'm jealous of that.
- 27:00Yes.
- 27:00I wish that it's not oh, I wanna look like that.
- 27:03Sometimes I do, but it's I wish that I felt comfortable enough to be in something like that, or, I wish I was more comfortable in my body.
- 27:11Also sometimes I think talking about weight, it's like a vanity thing.
- 27:14So you're afraid of, so you don't wanna sound vain.
- 27:17Like all of these things sound trivial.
- 27:18Another big one that I don't really feel like my friends and I talk about all that much, I feel like we talk about a lot is marriage and sex.
- 27:26Like we don't really talk about that stuff.
- 27:27No.
- 27:28All that often.
- 27:29Maybe we don't talk about it.
- 27:30'cause it's not like a big deal to me.
- 27:32I don't like, it's not like something that I wanna talk about.
- 27:34Everyone's just been married for so long, so there's nobody wants to hear about married people's sex.
- 27:38Yeah.
- 27:38That's boring.
- 27:40I don't know, was that something that came up at the dinner That was like another topic?
- 27:42Mm-hmm.
- 27:43Like Peop that people don't really talk about.
- 27:46And I was like, why?
- 27:48Why do you need to talk about it?
- 27:49Yeah.
- 27:50Why do you need to talk about it?
- 27:51Like why do you need to talk about it?
- 27:52Just talk about it to your husband if he thinks you're giving it to him enough times a week.
- 27:55That's really all that matters.
- 27:56Do you think that people are talking about it again, back to the comparison, do you think that they're trying to compare to maybe feel better?
- 28:03Maybe.
- 28:03Maybe they're like, okay, so if I'm doing it twice a week and she's doing it once a week, then I'm a good wife, then you're the better wife then I'm a better wife.
- 28:10Yeah.
- 28:10Yeah.
- 28:10Maybe.
- 28:10So it's almost like a little bit of like validation in a way.
- 28:12Yeah.
- 28:12Maybe.
- 28:13I don't know.
- 28:14That's so funny.
- 28:15But it's like another thing that people don't really wanna talk about.
- 28:18I think that especially as you're married and as we're like in this age, I think that a lot of it is to protect your partner.
- 28:25That's what Oh, totally.
- 28:26For sure.
- 28:27That's my reason, my number one.
- 28:29But I also do think that topic, especially in the season that we're in, you have kids, you have all these responsibilities there, we're in this midlife, which we keep going back to.
- 28:40I feel we always talk about how exhaustion is so real, and it's hard to have an emotional connection in the middle of all of this chaos.
- 28:48So I think maybe not framing it as like, how many times are you doing it with your husband a week?
- 28:54Yeah.
- 28:54It's more just like.
- 28:55How are you connecting and how do you guys get past that, how do you make time to feel connected when your husband gets connected by sex and you get connected to him by time intimacy by intimacy.
- 29:05Exactly.
- 29:05How do you fill both cups?
- 29:07Yeah.
- 29:07And how do you make time for that?
- 29:09Yeah.
- 29:09So it's reframing it as less nosy and just more about the connection piece and maybe how to better yourself in the relationship overall, I would probably also say the most important one to me is, and it was again, a reason why our podcast ended up taking this spin, right?
- 29:31Because I don't think that we exactly knew what we were gonna talk about.
- 29:35We always say that we thought we were going to sit in these chairs and shoot the shit and just like gab.
- 29:39And what ended up transpiring was conversations around identity and like private struggles and motherhood struggles and rediscovering yourself and all of this.
- 29:54It just, it, it evolved to that, and I think that part of our mission is opening up conversations around that.
- 30:01And so I think that over the last 50 episodes over the last year, we have tried to lift the veil on that topic or those topics, I should say.
- 30:11As much as possible.
- 30:11I think just in general, this overall feeling that, you're in motherhood, you're in midlife, and you should feel happier, right?
- 30:20And all of the conversations that can come around that, right?
- 30:24And like the huge identity shift that it is becoming a mom and entering this new kind of chapter of our lives.
- 30:30I wanted all of those things to be spoken about because I didn't even feel like I had an outlet to go listen to those types of conversations.
- 30:38So I'm sure like, you can look at our list of the last 50 episodes and we go into, so many of our episodes are about those topics, right?
- 30:47I think it's very timely that at episode 50 Yeah we are talking about like the secrets women keep.
- 30:53We didn't even plan that'cause No, because the past 50 episodes have been all about the secrets.
- 30:58About the secrets women keep.
- 30:59Yep.
- 30:59Without even calling it that.
- 31:01Yeah.
- 31:01Like we had somebody come on and talk about like systems in your life and how to like hack that.
- 31:06That's something that's not always shared about, we talked about like conflict with female friendships.
- 31:10Yep.
- 31:10That's not always talked about.
- 31:11People always talk about conflict.
- 31:12They experience it, but they don't talk about it.
- 31:14Yep.
- 31:14Because.
- 31:15Conflict and resolution is such like a beautiful part of a friendship.
- 31:19Yep.
- 31:19But it's always, all of these things can sometimes be tied into this like negative complainy, naggy woman thing, which you wanna suppress.
- 31:27Yes.
- 31:27And you wanna be seen and heard and look nice, but you can present yourself as an like, eloquent woman and also have all these conversations and all these things ruminating through your head at the same time.
- 31:38Yeah.
- 31:38Like you can be volunteering at the school and also being on your phone bidding on a Chanel bag in eBay at the same time.
- 31:45Two things can be true at the same time.
- 31:47It's true.
- 31:48And even's what makes a woman.
- 31:49Yeah.
- 31:50And even thinking back, like we talked a little bit about the kind of like the body image issues.
- 31:55And we had somebody on that talked about the importance of finding pieces in your closet that you could feel good in.
- 32:00Yeah.
- 32:00And we talked about weight loss extensively, and we're gonna have Steph go back on, because that was one of our most popular episodes.
- 32:07She's coming back to talk a little bit more about that.
- 32:09I think that we have opened up a lot of these conversations around these topics that women have been so uncomfortable discussing.
- 32:18Even with their close friends, one of the last things that I wanted to discuss was the topic of jealousy.
- 32:25Because I don't think that jealousy, I think jealousy is something that's acted out.
- 32:29Yes.
- 32:29And I don't think that it's ever really spoken about.
- 32:32I think it's something that is mostly just an internal thing that I think you usually know when you're jealous.
- 32:38But it's not something that you talk about.
- 32:41Without sounding catty.
- 32:42Or without sounding jealous, you know?
- 32:44Right.
- 32:46what does it mean to you to feel jealous?
- 32:50I think it's when you're deeply insecure about something that you wish that you had.
- 32:55And I think that to your point, it's when you act out about that, and it doesn't necessarily mean you have to like physically or even say something out loud, but it could even mean how you then act towards that person that you're jealous of or towards that situation that you're jealous of.
- 33:12So you might avoid it.
- 33:14Like that's an action.
- 33:16That Avoidance.
- 33:17Yeah, avoidance.
- 33:18It might make you more standoffish.
- 33:20It doesn't mean you just have to be nasty about anything that you're jealous of, but it might just, it's that it could make you uncomfortable I think that women are often jealous of like other women's appearance.
- 33:30Like freedom, other women's freedom.
- 33:32Yes.
- 33:32Like their time.
- 33:33Yes.
- 33:33And again, that's something I'm very jealous of right now.
- 33:35And this is something that sometimes you make up in your own head.
- 33:38Yes.
- 33:39'cause you're comparing your own internal struggle.
- 33:42So the low of the low.
- 33:44And you're comparing it to what which is the high of the high always.
- 33:47And that's what comparison is.
- 33:49Yep.
- 33:49Always.
- 33:49So when you compare, it's can be a little dangerous at times.
- 33:52Unless you know for a fact that you're comparing like two equal things.
- 33:56Yeah.
- 33:56Apples to apples.
- 33:57I think sometimes people compare relationships if they see like a very lovey-dovey couple and they're like, we don't do that.
- 34:04That's so natural too.
- 34:05I'm sure.
- 34:05I think that's a common one.
- 34:06Yeah.
- 34:06I think that people compare money.
- 34:09'Cause money gives you freedom and ease and things like that.
- 34:11You don't necessarily, even what isn't actually even sometimes what people have the truth.
- 34:16If you see like a nice car, you don't know if that's a reflection of what somebody has.
- 34:20Maybe it is, maybe it's not.
- 34:21I'm just saying these are all things that you're seeing.
- 34:23It is, these are the stories that you're telling yourself.
- 34:25Yep.
- 34:26But I think like confidence is something that I could be jealous of when there's like a confident woman.
- 34:31'cause you like aspire to be that.
- 34:33Yep.
- 34:34If you see somebody that's just has an ease about themselves and a presence and doesn't appear to be overthinking oh that is that is something, to me, that is something.
- 34:43Yep, for sure.
- 34:44That is definitely one of mine when I feel like somebody just has a really strong handle on themselves and it's authentic.
- 34:51I'm.
- 34:52Wow.
- 34:52Because I sit and ruminate about all of the things all of the time, and I have anxiety and I overcomplicate everything and compare all of the time.
- 35:02And that's just, I always say that's like my downfall of my personality, but it's a time suck.
- 35:08It is.
- 35:08It's a time suck.
- 35:09Time and energy suck.
- 35:10And I think that time and energy Yep.
- 35:11Are two things that are highly coveted.
- 35:13Yep.
- 35:13So when you feel like you're misusing your time and your energy, like that's just very frustrating.
- 35:19Yeah.
- 35:19Can I tell you another one that like, please Yes.
- 35:21Right now.
- 35:22'Cause I think that there's different points of my life where I've focused on different things, but Totally.
- 35:26Right now mine is like when I see families traveling together, because traveling is such pain, such, oh, I know.
- 35:33We about this last week.
- 35:34Yeah.
- 35:34It's such a pain point for me because it's my own shit.
- 35:38It's my own insecurity and anxiety around traveling.
- 35:42Raja and I used to travel.
- 35:44All the time.
- 35:46Like it was every weekend where we were boop, boop, boop, like all over the place.
- 35:51And I was so comfortable.
- 35:52Once you travel a lot, you're just like very comfortable in that space.
- 35:56And we would travel all over the place.
- 35:57We would be gone for like weeks at a time.
- 35:59Sometimes.
- 36:00'Cause you could both work remote such We could both work remote.
- 36:02You're such a, so you would love to immerse yourself into all the different places.
- 36:06We loved all the adventure.
- 36:07Yeah.
- 36:07We loved the putting content out around traveling.
- 36:11It was just like a passion of both of ours.
- 36:13And then when the pandemic and then having kids came, it like all halted all at once.
- 36:19And so we've really been out of this like travel game for now.
- 36:23It's like an extended period of time.
- 36:25And so when I see families especially comfortable traveling and boop boop, like all over the place and we're here and there's no behind the scenes of what a shit show that normally is.
- 36:37I, it makes me.
- 36:39So angry.
- 36:40Like it makes, I feel this like festering jealousy inside me.
- 36:45Oh.
- 36:45Because I'm like, I wish that we could be doing that.
- 36:48And I know a lot of the reason we're not is because of me, and it's because I'm uncomfortable with the situation and I can't get myself comfortable around traveling with kids because I need too much.
- 37:01I need time alone.
- 37:03I worry about all these things.
- 37:05So it's just something that like gets to me.
- 37:07We were talking about this the other day and you and I was like, Christina, nobody stays in a hotel room for, with their kids for an entire week.
- 37:13I don't know anybody that does that goes on vacation for seven days and stays in a hotel with their little kids.
- 37:19I'm, yeah, like I, I worry that it will be such a disaster.
- 37:23Really.
- 37:23Oh really?
- 37:24And I'm like, no, we've traveled with our kids, we travel with them multiple times a year.
- 37:28We have never flown and gone away with them for more than four or five nights.
- 37:32I'm putting too much pressure on it'cause nobody can handle that.
- 37:35But that's like another unspoken thing.
- 37:37It is.
- 37:37Who can actually, I wanna know who can handle that.
- 37:40I, so for me, when I see it, and it's obviously social media is so travel focused and go here with your kids and all these things.
- 37:47And it's like I travel can be fun.
- 37:49It can be fun for sure.
- 37:50I know.
- 37:50But I know it'll be, and I know that, I know eventually it will be something that we collectively do as a family.
- 37:56But right now with the kids being so small and like we're dealing with like flight connections and weather and all of these.
- 38:03Variables that go into it, I am uncomfortable with it.
- 38:06Yeah.
- 38:06And so I then put a halt to it because when I'm uncomfortable with something I don't hard.
- 38:11I don't, I retreat.
- 38:12Yeah.
- 38:13And then when I see it thrown in my face online about all the possibilities that we could, if I was just more comfortable with it, I get jealous and I get pissed.
- 38:22And so that's just something that I see right now that I'm admitting that kind of gets to me.
- 38:27What gets to you?
- 38:31Oh, we've talked about this before and I don't know if it necessarily gets to me, but I am very jealous of other women that are mothers and have careers because I feel like they have it all.
- 38:42Like I left my career to be a mother, and I have four kids and I love being a mom and I love having that time with them.
- 38:48And I like that.
- 38:49Like they can call me and I can come running.
- 38:52At the same time, I also would love to have a career.
- 38:55Like I want to have it all you.
- 38:57I think it's always, grass is greener, like it always looks like somebody might have it all.
- 39:03But then I'm sure if you had somebody in the seat that was really trying to balance that they would come with their own like slew of jealousies and comparisons, then that's just, I think that's just the nature of being a human being.
- 39:15Yeah.
- 39:15If the grass always appears greener.
- 39:18But what I am not jealous of anymore,'cause I was, when I was younger, is like stuff, yeah.
- 39:25Because when I was younger I would be like, oh, that person has the new bag, or that person got a new car, or that person has a shoe.
- 39:31I honestly could give an F right now if anybody gets a new bag or a shoe or a car.
- 39:36I would be like, that's so awesome for you.
- 39:38Yeah.
- 39:38I feel the same way.
- 39:39I love that you got that.
- 39:39Like I feel the same way, not even an.
- 39:41Ounce of jealousy anymore.
- 39:43Like good for you.
- 39:44Yeah.
- 39:44Get it all.
- 39:45I wonder if that's with age or what.
- 39:47I do feel like that's like something that you release and I keep talking about and emphasis on stuff.
- 39:52Yeah.
- 39:52I still, you can still like stuff, I still like stuff, but I don't, there's no jealousy associated with it anymore.
- 39:56But I do think that sort of does come with age and that's something that I would always hear.
- 39:59As we approach the forties decade Yeah.
- 40:02Which is coming for both of us this year.
- 40:04I feel like people say that, like that's something that like always stuck out to me.
- 40:08Like you care less about stuff and shit and all of that, and I do feel like that weight is just like slowly releasing and you're just like, because that's toxic.
- 40:18Yeah.
- 40:18I think that the biggest thing that I'm shifting into is.
- 40:22I get jealous sometimes of like how people spend their time and when they spend their time efficiently and they're working like smarter rather harder.
- 40:29Not harder, rather harder.
- 40:30I I feel like that's a big thing for me and my husband right now.
- 40:33Is it work smart is efficiency.
- 40:34Yeah.
- 40:34Efficiency.
- 40:35Efficiency.
- 40:35We need to have someone on jealous of other people when they are like efficient and we feel like we're trying to, I be efficient and we're not what I feel like that's something for us.
- 40:44'cause you're saying like you have your own insecurities and then you as a couple have your couple and that is one of ours too.
- 40:50And so I would love to have a conversation with somebody.
- 40:54It doesn't have to be an expert.
- 40:55We don't always, we're not always looking for like experts, but sometimes just people who wanna talk about something like this.
- 41:01I think that's such a big one is like how to work smarter, not harder, just in general.
- 41:08Like I feel like that is just such a good topic that I feel like I need to hear.
- 41:11I know we need to reframe on that.
- 41:12Yeah, we do.
- 41:13So that would be really interesting.
- 41:15But I think this was like a really interesting conversation.
- 41:19I think that I wanna have a separate conversation about jealousy and comparison, because again, we've talked a little bit about those and it's woven into some episodes, but can they creep into the topics though?
- 41:30But I think that we could have one.
- 41:32In its entirety, just about that.
- 41:34So Pippa's, let us know how you want us to reframe an episode like that.
- 41:38I think that something like that could be really cool, but as we're wrapping up now, it's, we're sit sitting here saying it's our 50th episode.
- 41:46We've had 50 pink spotlights.
- 41:49Some of them have been repeats, which we've had to because like, how do you have all these favorite things or I do things to share.
- 41:55I always have lots of favorite things and things to share.
- 41:56What is your pink spotlight?
- 41:58Our pink spotlight is our person, place thing, tip, mantra of the week.
- 42:02That's making life a little bit better.
- 42:04What's yours to share the ct.
- 42:06So I actually, this was from a few weeks ago and I kept forgetting to share.
- 42:10But I started Mahjong.
- 42:12You did?
- 42:13I did.
- 42:13I started Mahjong a few weeks ago.
- 42:15I know you wanted to do that.
- 42:16And that was like my like thing for 2026.
- 42:19You wanted to learn six That I wanted to learn how Mahjong, so I joined a group.
- 42:24Okay.
- 42:24Who we all are learning at the same time.
- 42:26Okay.
- 42:26And it's not like my girlfriend's from home or my mom friends, it's like like more of a random group.
- 42:32And this is like my Mahjong group.
- 42:33Fun.
- 42:34And my good friend and neighbor, Jessica has been playing Mahjong for like 10 years.
- 42:38So I had asked her back in November, can you teach us how to play Mahjong on January 7th or whatever the date was, January 8th, teach us how to play Mahjong.
- 42:46And she was like, yep, I will be there.
- 42:48So she taught us all how to play.
- 42:51And so she like printed out the rules and everybody gets a card.
- 42:56So our card was like the 20, 25 card and we played.
- 43:01So you play four people to a game.
- 43:03It's like a Yeah.
- 43:04You play, it's like a square.
- 43:05So everybody sits around like a square table.
- 43:08Yeah.
- 43:08But we played two people, two aside, while we were like getting, learning it.
- 43:13And I didn't look at my phone once the whole night because you can't I a dream.
- 43:17I was so like, into the game.
- 43:19Yeah.
- 43:19And I had to stay so focused.
- 43:21And it was social, but it wasn't because we were like playing a game.
- 43:25Thinking we were thinking, yeah.
- 43:27And there is, there's a winner, there's a loser.
- 43:29It's fun.
- 43:30Oh, we had some noch out on the table.
- 43:33Fun.
- 43:34Like it was social love.
- 43:35I loved it.
- 43:35It was great.
- 43:36So we're gonna play, we were supposed to play yesterday, but we were rescheduled till next week, so we're gonna play once a month.
- 43:41I love that.
- 43:42And it was like something that I really enjoyed and I look to doing again.
- 43:46I know.
- 43:46And good for you for learning something new.
- 43:48And I feel like we're just entering into this it's very chic to have like this, like playing cards.
- 43:54Like I feel like we're going back to this like phoneless time, right?
- 43:59I love it.
- 43:59Where it's I love it.
- 44:00Yeah.
- 44:00Socializing I know we were talking about like 90 summer.
- 44:03I am looking forward to retirement in Naples.
- 44:05Yes.
- 44:05Okay.
- 44:06I'm just setting myself up for that it's like that retirement life, like we have that Yeah, I learned how to play pickle ball.
- 44:11I love it.
- 44:11Yeah.
- 44:11Mahjong, what else do I need to do to love it?
- 44:13Set myself up for retirement.
- 44:15Good for you.
- 44:15I love that.
- 44:16That is so fun.
- 44:16And that was on your list, so I like that you actually went and did it.
- 44:19That fun.
- 44:19So it's a really fun game and I know it's.
- 44:21Trending now.
- 44:22Like a lot of people are doing it.
- 44:23Or maybe it's just like my algorithm.
- 44:25So I think it'll be fun.
- 44:27I actually saw this like pool float version of it.
- 44:30Oh.
- 44:30I was like, so then you could do it in the pool.
- 44:31Oh my God.
- 44:31We have to do it in the pool this summer.
- 44:33So fun.
- 44:33Do mahjong in the pool.
- 44:34So fun.
- 44:35So anyways, that's my love, my spotlight for the week, girls.
- 44:38Oh, I love that.
- 44:38So mine this week.
- 44:39So I did miss the girls trip.
- 44:42This.
- 44:42I know.
- 44:42We were sad to miss you.
- 44:43It was quick though.
- 44:44I know.
- 44:45It was quick.
- 44:45It was quick and it was cold.
- 44:46And it wasn't the same without you.
- 44:47I know.
- 44:48I missed it.
- 44:48But Raja and I had tickets to Dancing with the Stars, which was so much fun.
- 44:54I'm so glad that we went.
- 44:55It was, tell me everything.
- 44:56So Dancing With the Stars on tour, it was at Mohegan Sun.
- 45:00It just kicked off.
- 45:02So if Dancing With Stars is coming near you, it is worth.
- 45:06Every penny to go.
- 45:07It is so fun.
- 45:08It was a like two hour show.
- 45:11It was wow.
- 45:11Jam packed it.
- 45:13The all of the pros were there.
- 45:15Danielle Official was actually the kind of Mc of the night.
- 45:18'cause they have like different celebrities that are going through the tour.
- 45:21So you should look up if it's playing near you, then go.
- 45:24But then there's gonna be different celebrities that have, that were on this season part of the tour.
- 45:29So it was just, was Mark Ballast there?
- 45:31He wasn't, but I think that people come in and out.
- 45:33But I did get to see like a ton of my favorite pros.
- 45:36It was literally amazing.
- 45:38And because you know's my favorite.
- 45:38I know he's one of my favorites too.
- 45:39So it was really fun.
- 45:41We had such a good night, and we did end up staying at Mohegan Sun, which was really nice.
- 45:44So we had a nice night away from the kids.
- 45:47I slept nine hours with my mouth tape from, which was my pink spotlight from last week.
- 45:52I slept nine hours.
- 45:54I cannot even.
- 45:56Tell you the last time I slept that much, never.
- 45:58Probably I feel like I barely sleep that in like multiple days.
- 46:01But the next day we were still at Mohegan Sun and so we did a little shopping and I have my pink smile.
- 46:07Oh wait, is this the coach purse?
- 46:09Yes.
- 46:09I saw your I saw your, oh, that's beautiful.
- 46:12We all know that I am a designer bag girl.
- 46:15I love designer bags and I've always thought that they were like a really great investment because I think that you can have them forever and and wear them, and it really elevates everything, however.
- 46:26I'm in a new era of my life, right?
- 46:28Where it's I love those pieces, but I think that right now those pieces are for moments of my life, they're not, for every day.
- 46:35There has been so many times that I've had like a nice bag.
- 46:38I had like my Goyard tote, which I've had for five years, like literally like milk spilled in it.
- 46:43I'm like sitting there trying to be like, oh, I can blend the two lives together.
- 46:47And then it's like I'm literally ruining things that I have because it's just not that time of my life.
- 46:53And so I wanted like a nice cream everyday bag, which I know is it's like it's a cream bag, but I did not, I was not willing to spend a lot of money on it.
- 47:03But you wanted to have an elevated everyday I, but I wanted an elevated one and I didn't want it to just be some like random bag that I got because I know I like, like to gravitate towards pieces that I get excited about and like I wanna wear it.
- 47:15So I saw this bag in Coach and I saw it online actually.
- 47:19Like I think I was targeted for it, but then I saw it in person and I.
- 47:24Walked right up to it.
- 47:25It like, it's a, for those of you who are not watching it is like a cream, puffy quilted flap bag with a brass and cream chain.
- 47:35It is just beautiful.
- 47:36It gives a lot of Chanel vibes to me, but like obviously a fraction of the price.
- 47:40So I'm like looking at it, I'm like, oh my God, this was, this is like so similar.
- 47:43And the Cs are like it for me.
- 47:45Quiett luxury vibe.
- 47:46It's vibes.
- 47:47'Cause it's not even like an overwhelming No.
- 47:49And there's no like logo.
- 47:50Yes.
- 47:51It's just a C, like C the C is still looks like a class.
- 47:54It does.
- 47:55So it's it is very, like for Christina.
- 47:57I know.
- 47:57So coach, I feel like for me, like millennial I feel like Coach Wristlet, hello Col.
- 48:03Like coach was it like I, I had my coach Wristlet, my coach, little like card holder in college that I used to keep like my student, the little bad and with the little tiny strap, like I feel like Coach was it.
- 48:17And I feel back to this, like very nostalgic vibe.
- 48:20I feel I'm like, now I see Coach and I'm like, oh.
- 48:22And like they are having a moment again.
- 48:23When I walked in that store, and it's been so long since I've actually been, it was packed and there I could have probably purchased like 10 bags.
- 48:31Like the, there were so many bags that were all like super trendy.
- 48:36Yes.
- 48:36But I feel like this one had a lot.
- 48:38This was a good one.
- 48:39Yes.
- 48:39This was at Mohegan Sun.
- 48:40This was at Mohegan Sun.
- 48:41So I ended up buying this bag.
- 48:44Raja thought it was going to at least be triple or quadruple the price.
- 48:48Like he could not, but he was like, wow, like that.
- 48:50It's that beautiful.
- 48:51It's really pretty in person.
- 48:53So I ended up grabbing it and I ended up getting it like embossed too, like the little tag, because they had that there.
- 48:59They did it right there on the site.
- 48:59Yeah, they did it right there.
- 49:01And I just am you obsessed.
- 49:03I love it and it's, I feel like it's, I love it so much.
- 49:05Beautiful.
- 49:06And I had like people coming up to me in the store, Christina, it's a 10.
- 49:09It's a 10.
- 49:10Such a good find, and so I'm gonna link it any other colors?
- 49:12So they have multiple other colors.
- 49:14They had brown, black, I think a camel color.
- 49:18They also had all of these beautiful sue bags.
- 49:20I was no, I'm thinking like ahead.
- 49:22But there was these beautiful like suede sling bags, like they just had, I was like.
- 49:27Wow.
- 49:28Are we are like in a new era of coach whoever came in here, I need to like research this because I'm like, so you know who's in there, is a millennial probably who's yeah.
- 49:37Let's get it back.
- 49:37Because I was just very impressed.
- 49:39Like with the quality of everything that coach is having a moment.
- 49:42Yes.
- 49:42One of our really good friends, Jesse is a buyer.
- 49:45Yep.
- 49:45And she told us, she's been saying this she's like a trend forecaster and she's been saying this for probably only almost about a year.
- 49:51Yeah.
- 49:51She was like, coach is trending girls.
- 49:53Yes.
- 49:53You need to jump on the coach bandwagon.
- 49:55Yes.
- 49:55And it's like real leather and the quality is, it's good stuff.
- 49:58It's good stuff.
- 49:59And I literally was thinking to myself like, I have looked on Amazon.
- 50:02It's a double flat bag.
- 50:03It's a double flat bag.
- 50:04Yeah.
- 50:04I've looked on Amazon and Amazon things are like a couple hundred dollars for nothing.
- 50:09Everything is.
- 50:10Now.
- 50:10Yeah.
- 50:10That's a beautiful piece.
- 50:11But this is actually like something that you feel like you can still invest in, but you're not investing.
- 50:16It's not like you're spending designer money, but you're feeling like you're getting something elevated.
- 50:21And I feel like that is just very me right now.
- 50:23Like that message is I love it.
- 50:24Love.
- 50:24We wanna elevate basic.
- 50:25I love fun story.
- 50:26I don't you love, I like have a fun night away with your husband and then you have something to show for know.
- 50:30And I think about this prize.
- 50:31Yes.
- 50:31I it's a little prize from my night.
- 50:34And it was, yeah.
- 50:34It's like I like associating something with a memory.
- 50:37Yes.
- 50:37Like it's oh, I got this when we did that.
- 50:39Yeah.
- 50:39I love that.
- 50:40And yeah, that's I had to share this because it's just so fun.
- 50:44I'm very helpful.
- 50:44I still have my coach bracelet from college.
- 50:46Me too.
- 50:46I had my car keys.
- 50:47It's like a tanish green color.
- 50:48Do you know what I'm talking about?
- 50:49Yep.
- 50:49That like signature color.
- 50:51I had the patchy one.
- 50:51Like I had the one where there was like all the different Cs.
- 50:54Now I wanna go.
- 50:54I know.
- 50:55I love it.
- 50:56Coach.
