- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello Christians, this is Dallas Beecher.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Stand by for good news God's answer to confusion.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: The psalmist David said Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: And Paul reminds the church that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: So when confusion fills the air, Christians do not need a louder opinion.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: We need the light of God's word.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Confusion is not new.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: It has walked through every generation wearing a different coat.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: In one age confusion speaks through kings, in another through priest, in another through philosophers, in another through culture.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: And in our own day confusion often speaks loudly through opinion, emotion, entertainment, politics, yes, and even religion.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: But confusion always has the same root.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Something has been placed above the Word of God.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: That's something may be tradition.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: It may be personal preference.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: It may be the fear of man, or it may be the majority voice.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: It may be a favorite teacher, it may be an inherited system we never thought to question.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: But whatever it is, once it stands over scripture, confusion begins to rule.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said sanctify them through thy truth.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Thy word is truth.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: That is why the church cannot find peace by lowering the word beneath man's opinion.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Peace comes when truth is allowed to be truth.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: This is what Scripture first matters.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Scripture first is not a call to disorder.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: It is not a rejection of teachers.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: History, church life are godly counsel.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: The church needs faithful teachers.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: The church should learn from history.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: The church should walk together in humility, but none of those things may become final.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: The teacher must be tested by scripture.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: The tradition must be tested by scripture, and the denomination must be tested by scripture.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: The sermon must be tested by scripture.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: The consistency and our conscience must be formed by scripture.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: That is where peace begins.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Not the peace of pretending everyone is right, not the peace of avoiding hard questions, but the peace that comes when God's voice is given its rightful place.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: The good news is that God's answer to confusion is not hidden.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: He does not ask his people to wander in darkness.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: He has given a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: The scripture first life says, Lord, speak first.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Lord speak last.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Lord speak louder than my fear.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Speak louder than my habit or my pride and my conscience.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: And when the word of God is first, the church does not become weaker, it becomes clearer, it becomes steadier, it becomes more obedient, and it becomes more alive.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Because God's word is not merely information, it is light, it is brilliant, it is a sword, it is seed, it is truth.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: And when truth is restored the first place, confusion must step down.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: I hope this message today has touched your heart and causes you to have a good day.
