- 0:02Speaker 1: that shirt? Donald? You really like mad? No question? Do
- 0:08Speaker 1: you have multiple versions of that shirt or is it
- 0:11Speaker 1: your go to? I know you have all the colors
- 0:13Speaker 1: because when I saw you for our Apple Temi session,
- 0:17Speaker 1: you had we're wearing it in a different shade. Tell
- 0:19Speaker 1: us about the shirt, Donald, I'm a huge fan of fighting.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I am a huge fan of mixed martial arts. And
- 0:27Speaker 1: this store super rare, a shout out super Rare. They
- 0:31Speaker 1: have a store in New York City and then a
- 0:33Speaker 1: store on Melrose. They sell fight equipment. So if you're
- 0:37Speaker 1: into b JJ, they have Brazilian jiu jitsu gee and
- 0:44Speaker 1: they have a rash guard, shirts and pants and like
- 0:49Speaker 1: just a bunch of things. They have gloves, they have
- 0:52Speaker 1: boxing gloves, they have you know, grappling gloves, they have pads,
- 0:57Speaker 1: they have everything. It's a but then not only that,
- 1:01Speaker 1: the gear, your workout gear is fly as fuck. Like
- 1:04Speaker 1: this is just a shirt that says super Rare on it.
- 1:06Speaker 1: They got gear with like Biggie Smalls on it. They
- 1:09Speaker 1: got gloves with like the cool g with the Kogi
- 1:12Speaker 1: uh pattern on it for Biggie Smalls. You know, uh,
- 1:17Speaker 1: they got a bunch of things. The store is amazing
- 1:19Speaker 1: if you're into fighting. If you're into fighting, go to
- 1:22Speaker 1: Donald's favorite store, Super Rare. Did you guys, Daniel and
- 1:27Speaker 1: Joel watch us make the Apple teens? Was a huge
- 1:34Speaker 1: flying Really. We obviously didn't see them because my mean,
- 1:38Speaker 1: my girlfriend was filming for us, so we didn't see
- 1:40Speaker 1: any of them. I was going to say we threw
- 1:42Speaker 1: out a couple of messages, but it was just a listen.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Here's the thing about that. I know that a lot
- 1:47Speaker 1: of people watched it when I put it in my
- 1:49Speaker 1: stories or when I put sorry, when I put it
- 1:52Speaker 1: on my Instagram page, but I don't know what the
- 1:54Speaker 1: actual live feed was, Like how many people did we reach.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I think at one point there were like thirteen thousand
- 2:01Speaker 1: watching or something. That's amazing. It was fun. Donald. We
- 2:05Speaker 1: haven't done something like that live. I mean, I don't
- 2:08Speaker 1: know if we haven't done an Instagram live like that
- 2:10Speaker 1: probably ever. No, but we've done it weird, like you've
- 2:13Speaker 1: been on live and I've you know, oh yeah, we're enjoining,
- 2:16Speaker 1: but I'm saying, like a plan and we were like
- 2:18Speaker 1: Donald got there early, and we like rehearsed we like
- 2:21Speaker 1: love it. Shit, I'm not recording. I just say he
- 2:24Speaker 1: took off your shirt. Donald. It was really coming in
- 2:29Speaker 1: the comments people were excited about. Hay jumped in there
- 2:32Speaker 1: and that made me. She got there late and she
- 2:35Speaker 1: was like, where is your your shirt? She told me that.
- 2:40Speaker 1: She was like, I asked, where's your shirt? You didn't
- 2:42Speaker 1: answer me. I was like, babe, I was shooting. I
- 2:44Speaker 1: was on the screen. I was in the zone. My
- 2:47Speaker 1: favorite part of the videos when my favorite part of
- 2:50Speaker 1: the video, and I was like, Donald, you promised the
- 2:52Speaker 1: people that you'd be both stoned and shirtless. And he's like,
- 2:56Speaker 1: give me a second, and then he goes in the
- 2:58Speaker 1: other room and takes off his shirt. I was surprised
- 3:02Speaker 1: if people were all right with it. I was surprised
- 3:04Speaker 1: if people were all right with me wearing an apron
- 3:06Speaker 1: and just the Hershey's kisses. You know. They kept saying
- 3:09Speaker 1: you look sap w O L L swoll. What does
- 3:14Speaker 1: that mean? Guys, means bo very strong. You got it
- 3:19Speaker 1: looks like I could lift some shit, you know what.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And then I had my favorite comment that I did
- 3:24Speaker 1: see was someone said, wow, Zach looking good. I need
- 3:27Speaker 1: to get a peloton. So I like, you know, what
- 3:30Speaker 1: I saw a lot of was wow, Zach looks really young.
- 3:33Speaker 1: That's why. You know, it's because I'm so self deprecating
- 3:37Speaker 1: on this podcast saying that I look old and everything,
- 3:40Speaker 1: and then when people saw me, like doing a live video,
- 3:43Speaker 1: they were like, oh guy, now you know, I honestly
- 3:48Speaker 1: believe that you choose pictures of yourself that make you
- 3:50Speaker 1: look very distinguished and stuff like that, and so when
- 3:53Speaker 1: people actually see you in motion, they can't believe how
- 3:57Speaker 1: young you are. You know what I mean. Like, there's
- 3:59Speaker 1: there's there's certain pictures of people and you see them
- 4:01Speaker 1: and you're like, why that person looks old? It's fun,
- 4:03Speaker 1: and then you see them in motion, You're like, that
- 4:05Speaker 1: person looked younger than I have thought. A lot of
- 4:08Speaker 1: people said I looked like John Ritter, which I thought
- 4:10Speaker 1: was a compliment because I love John Ritter is amazing
- 4:13Speaker 1: dude and also very handsome. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah he was. Anyway,
- 4:18Speaker 1: it was a lot of fun, and thank you for
- 4:20Speaker 1: all tuning in. You can it's not over. You can
- 4:23Speaker 1: still go to headcount dot org slash Zack and Donald
- 4:27Speaker 1: and check your registration and a register for the first time.
- 4:31Speaker 1: That's still happening. I appreciate people saying that I didn't
- 4:35Speaker 1: look like Uncle Phil, even though I tremendously respect the
- 4:39Speaker 1: man and Uncle Phil was the one of the dopest
- 4:43Speaker 1: father figures in the history of television period. I appreciate
- 4:47Speaker 1: that people said I looked like Donald Fasan and not
- 4:49Speaker 1: m Yeah, it looked great, and you looked swollen, which
- 4:52Speaker 1: is a new term I'm gonna use for you. No,
- 4:55Speaker 1: your arms are big. I know that you. You's my
- 4:59Speaker 1: belly bay. Yeah, you admitted you're not eating your best,
- 5:02Speaker 1: but you still have muscular arms and shoulders. Look at
- 5:06Speaker 1: the shoulders. Yeah. No, you know what it is. I've
- 5:11Speaker 1: worked out for so much of my life. I think
- 5:13Speaker 1: once I turned twenty one, once I started doing remember
- 5:16Speaker 1: the Titans, I've worked out pretty much my whole life.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I'm not eating right, but I've worked out damn near
- 5:23Speaker 1: every day, whether it be basketball, whether it be lifting weights,
- 5:27Speaker 1: whether it be boxing, whatever it is. I've worked out. Uh,
- 5:32Speaker 1: since the pandemic, not so much, and so I'm now
- 5:34Speaker 1: out of shape. Like I used to be chubby and
- 5:37Speaker 1: in shape, like I could run and I could jump,
- 5:39Speaker 1: and I could do all of those things. Now I'm
- 5:41Speaker 1: chubby and can't walk up the steps without being like, damn,
- 5:43Speaker 1: that was a long walk. Yeah, I hear you, I
- 5:47Speaker 1: hear you. Well, I've been spinning and I'm I'm feeling
- 5:50Speaker 1: good about it, feeling good about it, losing cutting some weight,
- 5:53Speaker 1: getting rid of these love handles. Tell you good, good
- 5:56Speaker 1: for you, man, and I will join you as soon
- 5:59Speaker 1: as as soon as you know. Okay, So listen, don't
- 6:01Speaker 1: doubt me all you want. I love it when you
- 6:03Speaker 1: doubt me. Hey, listen, everybody, it motivates me. I wanted
- 6:08Speaker 1: to say to the audience. You asked and we delivered.
- 6:11Speaker 1: We have a very special guest on today's show, v
- 6:15Speaker 1: Rob mash you high five Todd. I mean, I think
- 6:19Speaker 1: he's been one of our most requested guests, and uh,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I wanted to let the fans know we came through.
- 6:25Speaker 1: We came through for y'all. And on that note, let
- 6:27Speaker 1: me give you just a little bit of five six, seven,
- 6:29Speaker 1: eight stories about show. We made about a bunch of
- 6:35Speaker 1: docs and nurses stories. So get around you here, yato
- 6:46Speaker 1: around here for you. Welcome back, y'all. Let let let's
- 6:56Speaker 1: let Robin. Let's let Robin. I haven't seen Rob in
- 7:00Speaker 1: how many years Donald, since we saw Rob. How are
- 7:09Speaker 1: you guys doing Rob? I have so many questions for you.
- 7:12Speaker 1: The fans were dying to have some Rob Mash show
- 7:15Speaker 1: on the podcast. I'm sorry it's taken so long, but
- 7:18Speaker 1: everybody everyone's like, when is Rob mashhow coming on? You
- 7:21Speaker 1: are the most requested, the most requested guest star of
- 7:27Speaker 1: Fake Doctor's Real Friends flattered. What can I say? Listen
- 7:31Speaker 1: at Quarantine Life. It's been crazy at Rocks, right, but
- 7:34Speaker 1: my bedroom that's where I really operate. Here we go,
- 7:40Speaker 1: Here we go. Rob's coming in. Here we Go. Rob's
- 7:46Speaker 1: always in character robol have a drinking game, which is
- 7:51Speaker 1: how many high fives innuendos can I make in the
- 7:54Speaker 1: next I don't know, eighteen minutes? Here it is, Here
- 7:56Speaker 1: we Go. Rob has just introduced seven. Rob tell me,
- 8:02Speaker 1: let's let's go. Let's start at the beginning, because we
- 8:05Speaker 1: like to do with everyone. Who's who's the cast member
- 8:07Speaker 1: of the show. I do want to preface it by saying,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Donald and I have been laughing so hard at you.
- 8:13Speaker 1: We're now in the beginning of season three and you
- 8:18Speaker 1: crack us up on the show. You know that we
- 8:21Speaker 1: I don't even think we realized how funny you are.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I mean, I knew you were funny, but a lot
- 8:25Speaker 1: of the times we laugh out loud. It's at the
- 8:27Speaker 1: fucking shit that you say, did you know? Did you
- 8:30Speaker 1: know when you were doing it? That you were making
- 8:33Speaker 1: this character? This character is iconic now, man, the high
- 8:38Speaker 1: five Todd is iconic. I mean, you guys are very kind.
- 8:41Speaker 1: But it was all in the script. I mean, it's
- 8:43Speaker 1: really Bill who created the part. In the pilot episode,
- 8:45Speaker 1: it says jockey, frat boy, surgeon and he's got cut
- 8:48Speaker 1: off sleeves in a dock tattoo. That's all the clues
- 8:51Speaker 1: for the character you need right there, right, That's everything
- 8:55Speaker 1: you need to I just played it to the nth degree.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So yeah, although I did bring the magic with the
- 8:59Speaker 1: banana hammock. Yeah, we're gonna talk about everyone, Well, we're
- 9:03Speaker 1: gonna talk about that. We're gonna get into the banana
- 9:04Speaker 1: hammock and everything. Everybody. I want to let everyone. I
- 9:08Speaker 1: want to go, you're on fire, Rob. We have so
- 9:17Speaker 1: many questions, including we're gonna get to how many socks
- 9:20Speaker 1: you were putting in that banana hammock to make it
- 9:22Speaker 1: seem like you were girthy but I do want everyone
- 9:25Speaker 1: to know right off the bat that Rob's on cameo.
- 9:28Speaker 1: We've mentioned this before and and so you can. You
- 9:31Speaker 1: can get robbed if you go on cameo dot com
- 9:34Speaker 1: and look for Rob's name. He'll send your loved one
- 9:37Speaker 1: a video. It could Rob tell him some of the
- 9:40Speaker 1: weirdest stuff you've done. Have you done proposals? What do
- 9:42Speaker 1: you and have you ever had to be in the
- 9:44Speaker 1: banana hammock to do it? Yeah? They asked for that,
- 9:46Speaker 1: but that's that's extra guys. Nobody wants to see a
- 9:51Speaker 1: middle aids man and a banana hammock. Well, maybe something
- 9:54Speaker 1: think a lot of people do. I think a lot
- 9:56Speaker 1: of people do, is baby, But what do you mostly do?
- 9:59Speaker 1: Is it like birthday messages? Like the one of most
- 10:01Speaker 1: people ask you to do on cameo. It's been really
- 10:04Speaker 1: interesting experience. I could never have foreseen this. Since the
- 10:07Speaker 1: pandemic started, I have shot over a thousand cameos. Oh
- 10:14Speaker 1: it's people are reaching out for something right now, like
- 10:18Speaker 1: to take their mind off what's going on in the world,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and they're just reaching out for comfort, comedy, anything, and
- 10:23Speaker 1: people are apart, so they're like, I can't go to
- 10:27Speaker 1: the wedding, but I want to send this message from
- 10:29Speaker 1: you to at the wedding or a birthday. And so
- 10:33Speaker 1: it's been like so it's been all over Zach. Like
- 10:36Speaker 1: from the beginning, it was like essential workers. My husband
- 10:39Speaker 1: is staying in a hotel. He doesn't want to bring
- 10:41Speaker 1: the virus back to us. And then it was like
- 10:43Speaker 1: I got laid off. And then it was like I've
- 10:45Speaker 1: been quarantined for six weeks and I'm losing one. So
- 10:48Speaker 1: like it's really I've watched this whole COVID nineteen based
- 10:51Speaker 1: on the cameo requests I get. It's been fascinating. It's
- 10:55Speaker 1: been really fascinating. Well, I just think, you know people,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you made so many people laugh, and it's a great
- 11:00Speaker 1: thing to do for people. So if you have someone,
- 11:02Speaker 1: whether they're in the medical profession or not, Rob is
- 11:06Speaker 1: obviously able to do it. And I'm going to get
- 11:08Speaker 1: one for Donald Rob. I would like him in I
- 11:13Speaker 1: would like him in his banana hammocks, or you're gonna
- 11:15Speaker 1: have to pay the extra. I got one for Bill
- 11:17Speaker 1: and christ Bill and Christa are big Howard Stern fans,
- 11:20Speaker 1: and there's one of the Wackpacker regulars on Howard Stern's
- 11:23Speaker 1: name is high Pitch Eric and he's got a very
- 11:25Speaker 1: high pitched voice, obviously, And so I went on CAMEO
- 11:28Speaker 1: because they let me stay with them one in Malibu
- 11:31Speaker 1: on one time and recently and I got a message
- 11:33Speaker 1: he was like, hey, Bill and Christa, this is high
- 11:36Speaker 1: Pitch Eric. Come Zach wanted me to thank you for
- 11:39Speaker 1: letting him stay. And I don't know, he just went
- 11:42Speaker 1: but it was I mean, if since they're genuine huge
- 11:44Speaker 1: fans of the show, it was amazing, So I support it.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I love cameo. Dude, you got I should say Tracy
- 11:50Speaker 1: Morgan to get on the phone and do Brian Fellows
- 11:53Speaker 1: for me. Yes, that wasn't blown before cameo. That was
- 11:56Speaker 1: in real life. Yeah, in real life. You were at
- 11:58Speaker 1: the Saturday Night Live and Tracy Morgan was there and
- 12:01Speaker 1: you guys were obviously had been out party and you're like, Tracy, Tracy,
- 12:05Speaker 1: this is what I hear in the background. Friend, what
- 12:07Speaker 1: a good friend? I do it? And I hear I'm
- 12:11Speaker 1: Brian Fellows. What he goes, He goes, I'm Brian Fellows
- 12:20Speaker 1: and then he has the phone back to you, and
- 12:22Speaker 1: I was like, what the fuck was that? And that
- 12:24Speaker 1: was Tracy Morgan. He just did Brian Fellows, didn't. He
- 12:27Speaker 1: also say to Sarah Chalk once he was like, I
- 12:30Speaker 1: want to put a baby in you. She looks so good.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I want to put a baby in you. You know,
- 12:35Speaker 1: he got some of the best things I've ever heard
- 12:37Speaker 1: in my life. That orange juice looks so good. I
- 12:40Speaker 1: want to take it behind the school and get it pregnant.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Oh my god, not very right now, Rob, tell us,
- 12:53Speaker 1: we always like to ask you when they come on
- 12:54Speaker 1: because the fans love this stuff, Like how you came
- 12:56Speaker 1: about getting the role. We know a little bit that
- 12:59Speaker 1: you were by He's a bill. You played basketball with him.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But tell us kind of like the evolution of how
- 13:03Speaker 1: you got the role. Well, I walked into a room
- 13:07Speaker 1: and there were three banana hammocks on three chairs. Which
- 13:11Speaker 1: one do you want, small, medium, or grande? I went
- 13:14Speaker 1: for Grande and they said you're higher. That was it.
- 13:16Speaker 1: So you're saying it was solely based on cock size,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you were not. It was all about girth. It was
- 13:21Speaker 1: all girth. They were like, look, they were like the
- 13:25Speaker 1: first the first edition, we just want to see if
- 13:26Speaker 1: you're funny. Now that you're funny, we want to see
- 13:28Speaker 1: your girth. All right, go ahead. I met Bill ten
- 13:32Speaker 1: years before Scrubs. I had come out to LA from
- 13:35Speaker 1: New York and I had been you know, I was
- 13:37Speaker 1: a theater guy from New York and I was doing
- 13:39Speaker 1: stand up comedy every night and open open mics. And
- 13:43Speaker 1: I got six months in, I got so bored with it,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and I went an audition for a play. And it
- 13:47Speaker 1: was a play he wrote, and he cast me in
- 13:49Speaker 1: this play. It was a four character play and we
- 13:51Speaker 1: did a play. That's how we met. So I had
- 13:54Speaker 1: met him ten years before. And you know, when you
- 13:56Speaker 1: do a play with somebody, it's just like it's a
- 13:58Speaker 1: bonding experience. And we became friends after that. And and
- 14:03Speaker 1: he has seen me in those ten years audition for
- 14:06Speaker 1: every comedy that was ever made, Like I auditioned to
- 14:08Speaker 1: play Joey on Friends, Will and Will and Grace. I
- 14:11Speaker 1: was the talk suit to be the host three times
- 14:13Speaker 1: the Daily Show. And he would like live and Die, Nash,
- 14:16Speaker 1: did you get it? And like for ten years he
- 14:18Speaker 1: watched me like be a struggling actor in New York
- 14:21Speaker 1: and in LA. And when the time came, he's like,
- 14:24Speaker 1: you know, there might be this part And I think,
- 14:27Speaker 1: but you have to come back out to La. And
- 14:30Speaker 1: so I came back to La, you know, having gone
- 14:32Speaker 1: back and forth, and he just kind of wrote this
- 14:35Speaker 1: part for me. So the answer to your question is
- 14:36Speaker 1: I did not audition to play the Todd. He always
- 14:39Speaker 1: envisioned coming up with something for me. And it was
- 14:42Speaker 1: a good compliment to Turk, who's a surgeon. He needed
- 14:44Speaker 1: sort of a jockey Fred Boyd, dumber surgeon who thinks
- 14:49Speaker 1: he's to women. Yeah, next to who actually turns in
- 14:54Speaker 1: the hospital, well, in the hospital an idiots avant who
- 14:59Speaker 1: knows you know, remember Rob Do you remember when they
- 15:01Speaker 1: go when doctor Wenn says that you're the best because
- 15:04Speaker 1: because when you go inside your head, you're not distracted.
- 15:07Speaker 1: All your things done. Tiny scobble. That was a cameo.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Sometimes people ask me on cameo to just sing that
- 15:15Speaker 1: song to them. Literally asked for that song, and I
- 15:20Speaker 1: just make a long version of it for them. People
- 15:24Speaker 1: people know more about the show than we do. I
- 15:26Speaker 1: think when it comes to I trust we meet them.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Have you been on the Scrubs wiki yet? Uh No,
- 15:34Speaker 1: that's the pit web page that I always referenced to
- 15:36Speaker 1: find little trivia about each episode. Rob didn't build give
- 15:41Speaker 1: you a car or something. What's the story with you
- 15:44Speaker 1: guys in some fancy sexy car. When I was in
- 15:47Speaker 1: New York, He's like, come back to LA And I
- 15:50Speaker 1: was like, I really, I just got with this good
- 15:52Speaker 1: agency in New York, the Girsh Agency, and I just
- 15:54Speaker 1: was really like in the loop on things. He's like,
- 15:57Speaker 1: you really should come at and it's like one night
- 15:59Speaker 1: I was like, it's just like I didn't want to come.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I wanted to stay in New York and try and
- 16:04Speaker 1: do theater and stand up. But he's like, I have
- 16:05Speaker 1: a car in storage. Come out. At least you have
- 16:08Speaker 1: a free car for six months until you get on
- 16:10Speaker 1: your feet. So he had a car like a red
- 16:12Speaker 1: Mustang Ford convertible, like gave it to me. That great. Yeah,
- 16:19Speaker 1: eventually I bought it from him, but he gave he
- 16:21Speaker 1: lent it to me for the first six months. And
- 16:23Speaker 1: I remember every time I would turn the car on,
- 16:25Speaker 1: I'd be like, oh, shoot, that's gonna be two hundred dollars.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It was an old But there was one scene when
- 16:31Speaker 1: I did this like Ricky to you about it. That
- 16:36Speaker 1: was because I used to always drive that car, and
- 16:38Speaker 1: that's what it sounded like when I was dritting a bump,
- 16:42Speaker 1: Like I was told how my car was rocking when
- 16:44Speaker 1: I took this girl out last night, and this was
- 16:47Speaker 1: the car he lent to me. And that's where that
- 16:50Speaker 1: joke came from. When I first got to LA and
- 16:52Speaker 1: got my car, I remember being so broke that I
- 16:55Speaker 1: was like, I'm gonna take it out of gear when
- 16:57Speaker 1: I'm when I'm going down it was it was stick,
- 16:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna take get out of gear when I'm going
- 17:01Speaker 1: down the hill. I don't even know if that legit
- 17:03Speaker 1: lowers your gas consumption or not, but I did it.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I would like just be like, we're drifting down this hill.
- 17:10Speaker 1: We are not in gear for this hill, because let's
- 17:13Speaker 1: just take all the gas we can get. Dude. I
- 17:16Speaker 1: remember when I moved out to Los Angeles and I
- 17:19Speaker 1: freaking they gave me five The Clueless, the television show,
- 17:22Speaker 1: gave me five thousand dollars to relocate. I found an
- 17:26Speaker 1: apartment in Hollywood. I had to pay first and last
- 17:29Speaker 1: month's rent. I had literally no dough After I got
- 17:34Speaker 1: my first apartment. I was lucky enough to have a
- 17:36Speaker 1: roommate who moved in with me to and he bought
- 17:41Speaker 1: a television, and so we had a tiny ass television
- 17:44Speaker 1: for the first couple, you know, for the first month
- 17:46Speaker 1: until I got my first paycheck, and my mom used
- 17:49Speaker 1: to send me money so I could eat. That's how
- 17:52Speaker 1: broke I was. When I can you a motorcycle when
- 17:54Speaker 1: you first ride here? No, I got a motorcycle. So
- 17:58Speaker 1: after Clueless took off, I had a bunch of friends
- 18:01Speaker 1: moved into the house with me. Right, so, like cats
- 18:03Speaker 1: from New York moved out to Los Angeles and we
- 18:06Speaker 1: it was like five guys one house. We partied like
- 18:09Speaker 1: fucking rock stars. We threw some of the dopest parties
- 18:12Speaker 1: in black Hollywood, you know what I mean. We were
- 18:14Speaker 1: doing it big, like I'm you think I'm joking, but
- 18:16Speaker 1: like people like Taragip would be, you know, before she
- 18:19Speaker 1: was famous. All of these people before they were famous
- 18:22Speaker 1: would hang out at me and my roommate's house because
- 18:26Speaker 1: and I would the one paying for the house because
- 18:29Speaker 1: I was on Clueless. Anyway, my buddy had a motorcycle
- 18:33Speaker 1: and he always looked dope when he would come like
- 18:35Speaker 1: to set to hang out with me or you know,
- 18:38Speaker 1: this is back when I had an entourage. So he
- 18:39Speaker 1: would look, he pull up on the paramount lot and
- 18:42Speaker 1: a motorcycle would a drive on past, and I'd be like,
- 18:44Speaker 1: that's the type of energy I need to be on,
- 18:48Speaker 1: you know. And so I bought a motorcycle and I
- 18:51Speaker 1: was riding. I wrote it around for a little bit
- 18:54Speaker 1: and one night and I was doing stupid shit like
- 18:56Speaker 1: I didn't have a license. I took the test, and
- 18:59Speaker 1: I out to the point where I knew how to
- 19:03Speaker 1: ride the bike. I could put it in any gear
- 19:04Speaker 1: and everything like that, but I didn't have I didn't
- 19:07Speaker 1: I was stupid and didn't want to go get the
- 19:09Speaker 1: license right. And so I'm out and about and I'm
- 19:13Speaker 1: on I lived in Los Felis at the time, and
- 19:15Speaker 1: I'm on Los Felis Boulevard and I'm doing stupid shit
- 19:18Speaker 1: like going in between cars and going in between cars
- 19:21Speaker 1: and the sidewalk like dumb shit, like the dumbest shit
- 19:24Speaker 1: you could imagine. And I'm going and I go through
- 19:27Speaker 1: an intersection and a car makes it so I can't
- 19:30Speaker 1: go in between the sidewalk and the street, and I
- 19:34Speaker 1: go up on the curb and the bike falls. But
- 19:37Speaker 1: Los Felas Boulevard has a bunch of grass and so
- 19:39Speaker 1: I skid out on the grass, right, and so I'm like,
- 19:44Speaker 1: I get up off the bike and I stand up.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Everybody's like are you okay? And I'm like, a fine.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I put you know, get back on the bike, and I,
- 19:52Speaker 1: you know, ride it home. And I never rode it
- 19:54Speaker 1: again after that. I never rode a motorcycle. I never
- 19:57Speaker 1: knew that story because I knew whenever you see me
- 19:59Speaker 1: on my bike, you kind of shake your head and uh,
- 20:03Speaker 1: and I knew that you had some sort of my accident.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Yeah it wasn't. It was a minor accident, but it
- 20:08Speaker 1: was still one of those things where it was like
- 20:10Speaker 1: and I didn't have like I wasn't bruised or anything.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Luckily my bike was fine and everything like that, but
- 20:15Speaker 1: it was so close, like that's how close you get
- 20:17Speaker 1: to death, So close to death and you're still alive
- 20:20Speaker 1: without a scratch, and you get so close like that,
- 20:22Speaker 1: it's like I don't want to do it anymore. It's
- 20:24Speaker 1: just like when we were in Saint Barts and they
- 20:26Speaker 1: were telling us don't go around the boats real fast
- 20:28Speaker 1: on the jet skis, and what did I do. I
- 20:30Speaker 1: went around the boat real fast on the jet ski
- 20:33Speaker 1: and almost crashed into somebody, like on a little speedboat,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and I fell into the wash. And you know how
- 20:39Speaker 1: you could feel the propeller, Well you can't. You don't
- 20:41Speaker 1: know because it doesn't happen to most people. But I
- 20:43Speaker 1: could feel the propeller moving by my head as I'm
- 20:46Speaker 1: going underwater on the jet ski and popping out, So
- 20:49Speaker 1: you know, yeah, man, that's that's as close as I got.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I've gotten really close to death a couple of times,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and I don't and once I learned my lesson, Once
- 20:56Speaker 1: I get that happens, I don't want to fuck with
- 20:58Speaker 1: it anymore. So with that motorcycle, I was a rap.
- 21:00Speaker 1: A lot's good. And also you have lots of kids,
- 21:03Speaker 1: so I can understand. Also it's like I didn't have
- 21:06Speaker 1: a lot of kids at the time. I didn't have
- 21:07Speaker 1: a lot of you know what I'm saying now, Remember
- 21:09Speaker 1: when I gave you the scooter, Sausha Gray, you didn't
- 21:11Speaker 1: want to ride it. And I think that maybe because
- 21:13Speaker 1: you were in your head about having so many kids
- 21:15Speaker 1: and trying to be a responsible father. No, man, it's
- 21:18Speaker 1: just that I put that bike. Once I did that
- 21:20Speaker 1: that I'm scared for my life. Man, Like you know,
- 21:23Speaker 1: I did stupid shit on that bike, man like things
- 21:26Speaker 1: where I was like, I should have never. When I
- 21:27Speaker 1: got my motorcycle, my first motorcycle, I was really excited
- 21:30Speaker 1: and I just happened to a meet coincidentally that week
- 21:33Speaker 1: after I bought it and got my license and feeling
- 21:35Speaker 1: so cool, a heart surgeon. And I'm making small talk
- 21:40Speaker 1: with him because you know, we were talking about scrubs
- 21:42Speaker 1: obviously and other stuff, and I go, I gotta to
- 21:45Speaker 1: ask you, just in Layman's terms, how does how does
- 21:48Speaker 1: a hard transplant work? I just can't get my head
- 21:50Speaker 1: around the heart is still beating, Like, just can you say,
- 21:53Speaker 1: like in Layman's terms, like how you do that? He goes, well, yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 1: after the motorcycle accident, we we harvest the heart. I'm like, wait, wait,
- 22:01Speaker 1: so down what do you mean? He goes, oh, yeah,
- 22:02Speaker 1: we call them donor bikes because they're usually men and
- 22:05Speaker 1: they're young, and it's a great heart. That's where we
- 22:07Speaker 1: get most of the hearts. And I'm like, oh, I
- 22:12Speaker 1: was like donor bikes, hoy fuck. So yeah, but you
- 22:18Speaker 1: still ride? I do, but I'm very conservative. I don't
- 22:21Speaker 1: go on the freeways, I don't ride at night. I
- 22:23Speaker 1: don't ride even if I've had a sip of alcohol.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it's all about risk management. Of course,
- 22:29Speaker 1: it's still dangerous, but I'm very, very conservative with it.
- 22:33Speaker 1: But you also fly planes, though, do you fly single
- 22:36Speaker 1: engine planes? Are double engine planes. I'm not the current now,
- 22:39Speaker 1: so I haven't flown in wild. But when I was
- 22:41Speaker 1: into it and owned a plane, I was flying by
- 22:44Speaker 1: myself four Ceedars, single engine planes. Siious. Yeah, all right,
- 22:51Speaker 1: that's equally as dangerous. Yeah, it's so dangerous. I had
- 22:54Speaker 1: a few moments up there alone like, oh shit, this
- 22:56Speaker 1: might be the moment, did you really well? Yeah, I
- 23:01Speaker 1: had a few times where the turbulence was really throwing
- 23:03Speaker 1: me around and I didn't think that I was going
- 23:05Speaker 1: to crash or anything, but it was really scary. And
- 23:09Speaker 1: air traffic controller had said to me, like, you know,
- 23:11Speaker 1: so I started ascend and I he had said to me, hey,
- 23:14Speaker 1: let me know when you're gonna descend, and I just
- 23:16Speaker 1: did it without talking to him because it was a
- 23:17Speaker 1: little hairy, and he kind of barked at me like, hey, hey,
- 23:21Speaker 1: I thought, I you know, I told you to tell
- 23:23Speaker 1: me when you're gonna start descending, And I'm like, yeah,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I'm getting rattled around up here a little bit. I'm
- 23:28Speaker 1: doing my best. And then he was I've happened to
- 23:31Speaker 1: find a guy who was who was nice and understood,
- 23:33Speaker 1: because sometimes they don't even give a fuck. They're just like,
- 23:35Speaker 1: you know, obviously it's a hard job. They're trying to
- 23:37Speaker 1: keep everybody safe. But yeah, I had a handful of
- 23:39Speaker 1: times where I was I was felt a little oh
- 23:41Speaker 1: shitty about no man, like, oh shit, Well, if you
- 23:46Speaker 1: have a two engine plane, if one of the engine
- 23:48Speaker 1: goes out, you still have the other engine. Yeah, I
- 23:50Speaker 1: think it's very hard to but it's very hard to fly. Uh.
- 23:53Speaker 1: You know, some some aviation enthusiasts will say the second
- 23:57Speaker 1: engine only flies you to the crash site because it's
- 24:04Speaker 1: because it because you can imagine with what that's gonna
- 24:06Speaker 1: do too, as you have to compensate for one engine.
- 24:09Speaker 1: It's very tricky to fly on what I mean, Yeah,
- 24:11Speaker 1: ideally that that that can that can save your life.
- 24:15Speaker 1: But you have to be a darn good pilot to
- 24:17Speaker 1: fly with one engine on one wing with the other one.
- 24:20Speaker 1: How But let me talk about Rob mash you. Yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 1: let's talk about Rob Mashing the show. Donald, Do you
- 24:25Speaker 1: want Rob I don't even if you listen to this program, Donald,
- 24:28Speaker 1: I listened to it while I work out, all right
- 24:31Speaker 1: on the beach. Yeah, to put my glasses on for
- 24:34Speaker 1: a minute, just to see what you guys look like. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 1: this is what I look like. It looks good. You
- 24:37Speaker 1: guys both look good. That's Daniel and Joel. I can't
- 24:41Speaker 1: see you. I want to see all right, Donald, will
- 24:44Speaker 1: you do the famous America's favorite forty seven? A second
- 24:49Speaker 1: summary of our episode and you're ready, Yes, if you
- 24:57Speaker 1: want to loosen up your lips. Mommy made me match
- 24:59Speaker 1: my m and na the tongue the tongue. Here we
- 25:05Speaker 1: go and on your marks, get sets go. Doctor Cox
- 25:08Speaker 1: is up for promotion. He wants his work to speak
- 25:11Speaker 1: for itself, but isn't sure he'll get the over the
- 25:14Speaker 1: hump without the help of Jordan. Carla jumps at the
- 25:16Speaker 1: opportunity to work with Turk and the O R, thinking
- 25:19Speaker 1: that two of them together will make a dynamic duo.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Turk's not so sure about that. Elliott and Shawn's relationship
- 25:26Speaker 1: is threatened by Sean's new job, and j D is
- 25:29Speaker 1: in desperate need of Doctor Cox's signature. Money makes you
- 25:33Speaker 1: do Things, Things you're not proud of things that hurt people,
- 25:37Speaker 1: things that frustrate you so bad that it causes relationship issues.
- 25:41Speaker 1: But it's also it also motivates. The hustle is powered
- 25:44Speaker 1: by money. Some field. Money solves all problems, and it's
- 25:48Speaker 1: true you can do a lot with money, but you
- 25:50Speaker 1: can't buy happiness. Yes, forty six seconds, very nicely, well
- 25:55Speaker 1: said snaps. By the way, Joell, I've been snapping because
- 25:58Speaker 1: of you. I k oh, yeah, it's nice. It's a
- 26:02Speaker 1: jazzy fielding. I like it clapping. I snapped like Joel, Like,
- 26:07Speaker 1: this episode was weird because it took me like, it
- 26:10Speaker 1: took me a while. I had to sit and think
- 26:11Speaker 1: about it. What is this episode about? What is everybody's
- 26:13Speaker 1: motivation in this episode? And everybody's motivation in this episode
- 26:17Speaker 1: is a better way of life with money? You know
- 26:19Speaker 1: what I mean? Cock, Turk, Carla, Well, you're not looking
- 26:23Speaker 1: for more money while you're looking to grow as a
- 26:27Speaker 1: better surgeon. Well right, well that's the that's the outcome
- 26:31Speaker 1: of of of of you know, realizing how powerful Carla
- 26:36Speaker 1: and Turk are together. That's Turk's outcome. But in all honesty,
- 26:41Speaker 1: they're the whole motivation for everybody in this is to
- 26:44Speaker 1: make extra money. Turkin Turkin Carla for the wedding, Uh,
- 26:50Speaker 1: Jordan and Cox for the baby and all of that stuff. Uh.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Sean's bouncing to go make more money at this new
- 26:57Speaker 1: job he has, and you want to get this. I
- 27:00Speaker 1: don't I forget what it is. Is it a is
- 27:02Speaker 1: it a fellowship? What is it that you need? I
- 27:04Speaker 1: don't know what it is. It's I don't know. But
- 27:06Speaker 1: for me, it's also about This episode's about pride, and
- 27:10Speaker 1: it's also about jealousy. There's a lot of discussion of jealousy,
- 27:16Speaker 1: particularly amongst you know, the love triangle of Sean and
- 27:21Speaker 1: myself and Elliott. That ship was hilarious, by the way,
- 27:24Speaker 1: what the ship with you and with Elliott Sean and
- 27:28Speaker 1: freaking and j D which he's like, it's not like
- 27:31Speaker 1: we we we uh, he knows me really well. Or
- 27:34Speaker 1: we have inside jokes. And then they're making out and
- 27:37Speaker 1: you call and leave a message and you're like, hey,
- 27:40Speaker 1: it's your great uncle, say it's your aunt Sally, whatever
- 27:43Speaker 1: it is, and then it goes to dance Sally, You're
- 27:50Speaker 1: just kidding, just kidding us, wrong bronk or whatever it was. Hilarious, dude.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I mean it's hard, you know, poor There's a lot
- 28:02Speaker 1: of moments I think where particularly in that love triangle,
- 28:07Speaker 1: where there's where there's jealousy. You know, JD's sitting there
- 28:09Speaker 1: being a fifth wheel, as as the woman he realizes
- 28:12Speaker 1: he really likes his making out with her boyfriend. You're
- 28:16Speaker 1: happy with carl It. JD's like the fifth wheel, you know.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I felt I felt bad for him. I I looked
- 28:25Speaker 1: at it like it is gonna sound weird. I was like,
- 28:27Speaker 1: holy shit, this is like real life. This is like
- 28:29Speaker 1: when we used to go out and Zach would be
- 28:32Speaker 1: single and I'd be with Casey and Sarah would be
- 28:36Speaker 1: with her guy at the time, and we'd go out
- 28:39Speaker 1: and you'd be the single one. Yeah, but the single
- 28:42Speaker 1: fifth wheel just staring at Sarah being like kill like
- 28:46Speaker 1: fucking guy. And I'm just kidding. Guys, I gotta tell you,
- 28:50Speaker 1: I saw it totally different than that, both of you.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I think this was such a strong episode. Oh nobody
- 28:55Speaker 1: saying that. It wasn't a saying it's not a strong episode.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I thought the relationships and it was the beginning, will
- 29:00Speaker 1: you guys get together or won't you? I thought it
- 29:02Speaker 1: was really well done. I thought like all three relationships
- 29:05Speaker 1: commented on each other. I thought it was really structurally
- 29:08Speaker 1: in terms of the writing, it was. I thought all
- 29:10Speaker 1: the main characters like you really all shine. There was
- 29:14Speaker 1: also a funny runner with a riddle and the janitor. Yeah,
- 29:18Speaker 1: the episode has This is one of those ones that
- 29:20Speaker 1: has a few really memorable things that fans love. First
- 29:24Speaker 1: and foremost that riddle. People always love. Two coins out
- 29:28Speaker 1: up to thirty cents. One of them is not a nickel.
- 29:31Speaker 1: What are they? The hair met people love the hair met.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I'm going to scrub my hands and do scrub my hands,
- 29:38Speaker 1: dance scrub my hands and do the scrub my hands.
- 29:41Speaker 1: That's huge. Another major thing is you doing your Aaron
- 29:45Speaker 1: Neville impression, which we've learned is not as good as mine,
- 29:48Speaker 1: but you know it's it's good, a like even when
- 29:51Speaker 1: you listen to it on the show, it's like you
- 29:53Speaker 1: you know, when I'm doing it, it's all right, Yeah,
- 29:56Speaker 1: it's all right, but it ain't exact brass no. I mean,
- 30:01Speaker 1: you know, I know in this show it's confusing because
- 30:03Speaker 1: sometimes people are like, is he doing DJ college or
- 30:05Speaker 1: is he doing here in Neville? But it's a. It's
- 30:08Speaker 1: a really glorious impression. There was some other things, Oh,
- 30:13Speaker 1: like a baguette, like a baguette, baguett. Yeah, all right,
- 30:16Speaker 1: we'll go through We'll go through it. We'll go through it.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Let's go all right. Yeah, and Rob, you know how
- 30:19Speaker 1: it goes. Just chime in every anytime you want to
- 30:22Speaker 1: say it. Took my notes. I got my notes for
- 30:24Speaker 1: everybody because I usually watch thinking about me, but I
- 30:26Speaker 1: really wrote notes for everybody else. Good good, I'm so
- 30:29Speaker 1: happy too. I love that, I love that. I love
- 30:31Speaker 1: how you said I watch for me, meaning that you you,
- 30:35Speaker 1: even when you're not going to be a guest on
- 30:36Speaker 1: the podcast, you watch the episode and take notes about
- 30:39Speaker 1: your own stuff so you'll so you'll be able to listen. Well,
- 30:42Speaker 1: there's an iconic there's a sterile high five in this
- 30:45Speaker 1: episode that people still ask me. It's so relevant today.
- 30:48Speaker 1: It's the only CDC approved high five A love Well.
- 30:55Speaker 1: This episode was notably directed by John Inwood, who was
- 30:58Speaker 1: our cinematographer for the whole run of Scrubs. No, not
- 31:03Speaker 1: the whole run up until season well up until the
- 31:06Speaker 1: very end. Made me yeah, ey, So this sort of
- 31:08Speaker 1: starts to happen in season three, some people like so
- 31:12Speaker 1: our editor had directed, but this was the our dp's
- 31:14Speaker 1: first episode. I also always remember this joke that Johnny
- 31:20Speaker 1: c says at one twenty five, if they took porn
- 31:22Speaker 1: off the Internet, there'd only be one website left, and
- 31:26Speaker 1: it would be about and it would say bring back porn. Yeah,
- 31:30Speaker 1: this is really interesting. This is before all of these
- 31:32Speaker 1: social networks were around also, so like this is like
- 31:36Speaker 1: the early beginnings of social networking and stuff like that.
- 31:39Speaker 1: So I remember Perez Hilton and all of you know,
- 31:43Speaker 1: and now he was the biggest entertainment website there was
- 31:48Speaker 1: at the time when we were making when we were
- 31:50Speaker 1: doing scrubs and stuff like that. Now there's so many
- 31:52Speaker 1: of them. Now, there's like, you know, a bunch of
- 31:55Speaker 1: them that I wonder what there was was there? My Space? Yea,
- 32:00Speaker 1: my Space was around, but it was crashing all the
- 32:02Speaker 1: time at this point, you know what I mean. And
- 32:05Speaker 1: and emailing was kind of you know, we were emailing,
- 32:09Speaker 1: but it wasn't as you know, people had AOL at
- 32:12Speaker 1: this time and Yahoo and stuff like that, Zanga and
- 32:15Speaker 1: live jail like this is this is this is a
- 32:20Speaker 1: time where you know a lot of the things that
- 32:22Speaker 1: we're dealing with a lot of the uh hardware that
- 32:26Speaker 1: we have right now didn't exist. We didn't have iPhones
- 32:29Speaker 1: at this point. We you know, we had cell phones
- 32:32Speaker 1: just starting to be really used, like like Clueless, the
- 32:36Speaker 1: movie you know what I mean. Clueless was so far
- 32:38Speaker 1: ahead of its time that it's like five six years,
- 32:41Speaker 1: seven years later that people really start, you know, uh
- 32:44Speaker 1: using handsets. M h. Yeah. Yeah, I remember my MySpace page.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I was super into it. Did you guys do it?
- 32:52Speaker 1: I didn't do my Space? Yeah I did back in
- 32:55Speaker 1: the day for sure. Yeah, MySpace was fun. You could
- 32:57Speaker 1: pick your song and did come on your page and
- 32:59Speaker 1: they're your song playing. Oh man, I didn't do my Space.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I didn't do Black Planet. I didn't do any of
- 33:04Speaker 1: those things. But all those things are like like in
- 33:07Speaker 1: the infancy of social media. Now most people, if you're
- 33:11Speaker 1: savvy enough, you only use social media to make money,
- 33:14Speaker 1: whereas back then it was just like I'm gonna go on
- 33:16Speaker 1: on MySpace and put a song on. It just seems
- 33:18Speaker 1: so much more innocent than it is now. Well yeah, now,
- 33:21Speaker 1: and I think people were in his mean I mean,
- 33:23Speaker 1: now it's just like such the wild West of mean
- 33:25Speaker 1: mean people. So we're gonna take a great quick break.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I agree with you. I was gonna say before we
- 33:30Speaker 1: let's take a quick break, and when we come back,
- 33:33Speaker 1: we will get into the most interesting topic related to
- 33:37Speaker 1: Rob Mashio, and that is his banana hammock and and
- 33:41Speaker 1: how he maintained his physique. We'll be right back and
- 33:52Speaker 1: we're back with Rob Mashio. So Rob, tell us about
- 33:56Speaker 1: the banana hammock. You must have had to work out
- 33:59Speaker 1: a lot, because you were in great shape. I do
- 34:01Speaker 1: remember you told me once that you ate a pineaband
- 34:04Speaker 1: and Ben and Jerry's every day. Is that? Was that
- 34:06Speaker 1: the case? I think during those years I was constantly
- 34:10Speaker 1: starved or deprived of sugar, So maybe I might have
- 34:13Speaker 1: eaten a lot of ice cream. How old? In all honesty,
- 34:17Speaker 1: because you always look young. You're very You're Italian, so
- 34:20Speaker 1: you got that olive complexion and your skin is smooth
- 34:23Speaker 1: and everything like that. I don't know if you I
- 34:24Speaker 1: don't know if you're botoxing or anything like that, but
- 34:27Speaker 1: you're looking good still, Thank you, thank you. How old
- 34:30Speaker 1: were you when we were making scrubs? Fifty seven years old? Well?
- 34:35Speaker 1: I was, you know? Milf status thirty four turning thirty
- 34:38Speaker 1: five on the pilot. So now I'm fifty four today,
- 34:41Speaker 1: so I'm guilt status. I'm a guilt status. You look great, gilt,
- 34:45Speaker 1: gilt five gilt, so you guilt five gil five? You know, no,
- 34:52Speaker 1: but that's like grandmother. I'd like to fuck. Yeah, Rob's
- 34:57Speaker 1: I'm fifty four now, guys, it's okay. Father you're the
- 35:04Speaker 1: age that. Are you single? Right? I'm single? So can
- 35:08Speaker 1: anywhere from fifty? Do you have a Do you have
- 35:10Speaker 1: an account on one of the websites that people who
- 35:13Speaker 1: want to date you could find you? Are you on
- 35:15Speaker 1: Tinder or something? No, I'm trite. I don't a plan
- 35:19Speaker 1: for that stuff. I don't really have time because you know,
- 35:22Speaker 1: we're trying to get something going with Joel where we're
- 35:24Speaker 1: trying to find her man. But I'm thinking about you.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I feel like if you were on one of the
- 35:30Speaker 1: big websites, we could just send really a lot of
- 35:33Speaker 1: traffic to your way. But you're saying you're abstinate, you're uninterested. Well,
- 35:38Speaker 1: I mean it's first of all, it's quarantine, and there
- 35:40Speaker 1: hasn't been a lot of bone fishing in the year
- 35:42Speaker 1: twenty twenty. Let's say, for anybody I'm very fifty. If
- 35:46Speaker 1: you're very tricky, they're very tricky out there, and you
- 35:49Speaker 1: gotta be careful. You can't just you know, you gotta
- 35:52Speaker 1: know what water, have to know, you have to know
- 35:54Speaker 1: what watering holes to bone fishing. Yeah, you've got to
- 35:59Speaker 1: be careful. Rob. Well, at least there's internet porn and
- 36:03Speaker 1: you can just hand. You can just take things into
- 36:05Speaker 1: your own hands and make oh my god. But well,
- 36:10Speaker 1: it takes two hands. But we know, we know it
- 36:14Speaker 1: takes two hands with you because we know he said
- 36:16Speaker 1: it takes a village. He said, it takes a village.
- 36:22Speaker 1: And you first were put into the fire, fire covered,
- 36:26Speaker 1: blaze covered banana hammock. What were your thoughts? Were you
- 36:28Speaker 1: insecure about showing your body on TV? I mean, obviously
- 36:31Speaker 1: you're in good shape, but it might have been intimidating
- 36:34Speaker 1: coming on to set with just a little banana hammock. Well,
- 36:38Speaker 1: there is a quick story because the first time we
- 36:40Speaker 1: ever did that, and I really brainstorm with Carrie Bennett,
- 36:44Speaker 1: the costume designer, about what we were going to wear.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Because I come out of the shower with the rat
- 36:48Speaker 1: I try to rat tail you. Yeah, right, if I
- 36:51Speaker 1: don't have anything on they're not. That scene's not going
- 36:53Speaker 1: to make it into the episode. So we really like
- 36:55Speaker 1: had meetings like what, and she went to West Hollywood
- 36:58Speaker 1: and bought like twenty different sort of bikinis and I
- 37:01Speaker 1: tried them all on for her, and then at some
- 37:03Speaker 1: point we settled on the flame because it matched my
- 37:06Speaker 1: yeah yeah, yeah, and so on the day so I literally, guys,
- 37:12Speaker 1: this is a true story, went to the weight room downstairs,
- 37:15Speaker 1: took up like a grip, put it on, and then
- 37:19Speaker 1: looked at it in the banana hammock and I thought, oh,
- 37:20Speaker 1: that's too big. No one's gonna believe it. And then
- 37:24Speaker 1: I took it off, cut it in half, put it
- 37:26Speaker 1: back on. I was like, no, still too big. And
- 37:28Speaker 1: then we're about to shoot the scene. And I stuck
- 37:30Speaker 1: my head out the wind out my dressing room door,
- 37:33Speaker 1: and I saw Randall walking by, and I said, Randel,
- 37:35Speaker 1: come here, come in here. And I brought Randel Winston
- 37:38Speaker 1: into my dressing room and I said, take a look
- 37:40Speaker 1: at this one. And he said what He said what? What?
- 37:46Speaker 1: What are you talking about? And I said, oh, I'm sorry,
- 37:48Speaker 1: he doesn't understand, like I'm all like made up oil
- 37:51Speaker 1: pumped up to do this banana hammock and I'm wearing
- 37:53Speaker 1: this grip on my penis, and I pulled my banana
- 37:56Speaker 1: hammock down and showed him. I said, do you think
- 37:58Speaker 1: I need this? Or is this enough without it? So
- 38:03Speaker 1: wait a second, you're talking about the phone thing that
- 38:06Speaker 1: goes on the way bar you wanted to put on
- 38:09Speaker 1: your wanted to put on your neck when you're doing squats. No, no, no,
- 38:13Speaker 1: he so you you you took it off, you cut
- 38:18Speaker 1: it and then you put it like a like like
- 38:20Speaker 1: a hot dog bun around your penis. Yes, yes, yeah,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I really love on that. How long? How long did
- 38:29Speaker 1: you do this for the whole run? Wait? Wait? Wait
- 38:33Speaker 1: wait wait what did random wait? Wait? What did Randall say?
- 38:37Speaker 1: What did Randall say? Because he's a he's a gay man,
- 38:39Speaker 1: and you're oiled up and you take out your penis
- 38:42Speaker 1: and it's got a little a cozy, a couzi, a
- 38:45Speaker 1: couzy on it. But Randle Randall solved it for me. Definitively,
- 38:52Speaker 1: Randall solved the whole thing. He looked at me and
- 38:55Speaker 1: he said, no, Rob, I think you're enough just the
- 38:57Speaker 1: way you are, or at least I like to think
- 38:59Speaker 1: he said that. So in the end. I didn't bear
- 39:02Speaker 1: anything the tire run of the show, but for that
- 39:04Speaker 1: first time, it was the cut of the brief that
- 39:07Speaker 1: makes the man. It wasn't necessarily the past, right, But
- 39:09Speaker 1: did you feel that? Did you feel the did you
- 39:12Speaker 1: feel the onus before cameras rolled to give a little
- 39:15Speaker 1: jiggle to get some blood going down there? No, I
- 39:19Speaker 1: think at that point I just wanted to have a
- 39:21Speaker 1: real funny moment with you because you had a serious
- 39:23Speaker 1: scene going with Elliott. And by the way, she's in
- 39:26Speaker 1: a bra and she looks tremendous and like, there's no
- 39:29Speaker 1: chances are no one's even gonna notice me unless I
- 39:31Speaker 1: did something big because she did. So you did. But
- 39:34Speaker 1: Donald and I talked in an earlier episode about how
- 39:36Speaker 1: I was meant to be lying in my boxers on
- 39:39Speaker 1: a bed and I didn't want it. I didn't want
- 39:42Speaker 1: it to be like, oh ridiculous, like like you know,
- 39:44Speaker 1: I'm jammed a sock in there. But I also didn't
- 39:46Speaker 1: want to look like a ken doll. So I remember
- 39:48Speaker 1: being like, I should give this all, this whole a
- 39:51Speaker 1: little package, a little shake, shake, shake, just so it's
- 39:54Speaker 1: you know, there's a little blood, there's something's a little
- 39:56Speaker 1: freshness going on down there's a little blood that's like, hey,
- 39:58Speaker 1: am I needed? And you know and then you and
- 40:01Speaker 1: then you roll real quick? Well did you do that? Rob?
- 40:04Speaker 1: That's what he's trying to ask. Did you master base
- 40:07Speaker 1: before you put on your ban not master bade Donald?
- 40:09Speaker 1: Just get shit moving a little? Did you touch yourself
- 40:15Speaker 1: a self fluff? Did you fluff before the banana? Sorry? Sorry, Joel,
- 40:19Speaker 1: this is the last question it was. It was really
- 40:23Speaker 1: I all have to I owe it all to carry Bennett.
- 40:26Speaker 1: She picked out the perfect cut of a banana hammock
- 40:29Speaker 1: and it wasn't necessary because it pushed everything. You are
- 40:32Speaker 1: a gentleman. You are a gentleman, Rob talking about your junk,
- 40:38Speaker 1: because if it were me, I'd be like, yo, that
- 40:40Speaker 1: was all meat dog, it was all me. I would
- 40:43Speaker 1: do you know what? And you know what, I didn't
- 40:46Speaker 1: even have to touch your son. That's how I come.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I woke up like this, son, I woke up like this. Yeah. Well,
- 40:52Speaker 1: if it was you, we all know that there wouldn't
- 40:54Speaker 1: be any need for any shake shake shake all right now? Rob,
- 41:00Speaker 1: you're aware, of course that when we moved to ABC,
- 41:02Speaker 1: they were unable to continue shooting you below the waist
- 41:07Speaker 1: when you were in banana hammock after that? Did you
- 41:09Speaker 1: know that, Rob? Yeah, I knew that because it was
- 41:12Speaker 1: disappointing because on that Bahama's episode it was so funny
- 41:15Speaker 1: and then that was one of the best. Yeah, that's
- 41:18Speaker 1: a lot of people don't know that. The Bahama's episode
- 41:21Speaker 1: was Rob. When they cut to Rob walking on the beach,
- 41:25Speaker 1: He's walking in his banana hammock and it was one
- 41:28Speaker 1: of and and and banana hammock goes up your butt
- 41:30Speaker 1: and everything like like it's like everything. It was so
- 41:34Speaker 1: funny and it was so funny. But ABC, Yeah, when
- 41:37Speaker 1: we moved to ABC, because they're owned by Disney I
- 41:40Speaker 1: guess or whatever, they had different standards and practices obviously
- 41:43Speaker 1: the NBC, and they were like, no, you're not putting
- 41:46Speaker 1: that on television. No, it Rob's Rob's banana hammock was
- 41:50Speaker 1: so I'm gonna use the excuse, I'm gonna get it
- 41:53Speaker 1: was so big that they were like, I think also
- 41:58Speaker 1: it was clearly a penis. It wasn't like that's a bump.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I think you could see like outline of shafts and balls. Yes,
- 42:05Speaker 1: maybe said did some weird things like they just made
- 42:08Speaker 1: you say words like boobies instead of boobs, like it
- 42:11Speaker 1: seems somewhat arbitrary. They're there standards and practices, just like
- 42:15Speaker 1: a full cut cut of somebody wearing about ana hammock.
- 42:18Speaker 1: It's just a funnier than like a crop. So like
- 42:20Speaker 1: I was all about, like, what's the funniest visual thing
- 42:23Speaker 1: on everything? I did? You know? I was disappointing that
- 42:26Speaker 1: they cut that, But who cares? Tell us about the tattoo?
- 42:30Speaker 1: Rob did it? How is that applied? I'm just just
- 42:34Speaker 1: a little bit of Rob trivia. Was it a stencil
- 42:36Speaker 1: kind of thing? You know? People to this day they
- 42:39Speaker 1: tweet me and they asked me if it's real or
- 42:42Speaker 1: if it was fake, and so I always answer to
- 42:44Speaker 1: them that it's whatever you want it to be. And
- 42:47Speaker 1: then they're like, I knew that they love it. But
- 42:55Speaker 1: I've made I've had some made thousands of these, and
- 42:58Speaker 1: I used to give these out of comic cons, these
- 43:00Speaker 1: dock tattoos because this is exactly the way the stamp was.
- 43:03Speaker 1: And then they would call it fill us where somebody
- 43:05Speaker 1: would color it in. How did you get it damped?
- 43:08Speaker 1: It was stamped and colored it. I had somebody make
- 43:10Speaker 1: this these for me because kids love these, and now
- 43:13Speaker 1: I'll give them to them and they'll wear them at
- 43:14Speaker 1: probably for sale. No, I just gave them out. You
- 43:17Speaker 1: could have it for merch if you want. I'd like
- 43:20Speaker 1: to have it, but yeah we should, we should, Holy shit,
- 43:26Speaker 1: doc merch? How many? How many of you got right now?
- 43:30Speaker 1: How many I probably have? I gave out that I
- 43:32Speaker 1: just give them. I used to. I used to send
- 43:34Speaker 1: picture to somebody and then give them a free doc tattoo.
- 43:37Speaker 1: So how many you got? We're in the probably have
- 43:39Speaker 1: a box somewhere in my store, all right business. We're
- 43:41Speaker 1: gonna buy them off, Rob. And now that we're in
- 43:44Speaker 1: the merch business, amongst all the other merch you can get,
- 43:47Speaker 1: you'll be able to get an actual Rob fake doc tattoo.
- 43:52Speaker 1: I think a lot of people are you for Halloween?
- 43:54Speaker 1: Usually Rob. I always see lots of high five times.
- 43:56Speaker 1: They sometimes go as you, they sometimes go as But
- 44:00Speaker 1: I see more you Robbed than I see of anyone
- 44:04Speaker 1: from the show. A lot of high five tons, I see,
- 44:08Speaker 1: I see you. People have buddies like to go as
- 44:11Speaker 1: the two of you, right right. But there's always someone
- 44:16Speaker 1: that comes up that's like, all right, fine, if you
- 44:17Speaker 1: guys are turking JD, then I'm sucking the todd This
- 44:20Speaker 1: is that something. It's a fun character to go to
- 44:23Speaker 1: have Halloween because it's not just a costume, it's a character.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Rob before COVID and everything. You would do sort of
- 44:31Speaker 1: comic con type events, right and signed stuff and high
- 44:34Speaker 1: five people. I always there are certain places in the
- 44:37Speaker 1: world I always wanted to go to, and I sought
- 44:39Speaker 1: out a couple of comic cons and in the end
- 44:42Speaker 1: of the day, I went to Australia three times, Germany
- 44:45Speaker 1: six times, the Yanna. So I did comic cons in
- 44:50Speaker 1: places I wanted to travel to, and it was fascinating
- 44:53Speaker 1: to really realize the reach of the show and to
- 44:56Speaker 1: see people from different countries and brace the show. It's
- 44:59Speaker 1: really interesting. That is awesome. Would you stay extra while
- 45:02Speaker 1: you were there, like, would you stay days after the
- 45:04Speaker 1: comic cons and experience the experience the places, or would
- 45:07Speaker 1: you just go do the comic cons and whatever amount
- 45:10Speaker 1: of time you had there you would tourist. Well. I
- 45:13Speaker 1: went to Australian and I like the people who ran
- 45:16Speaker 1: the OZ comic cons so much that I went back
- 45:18Speaker 1: the next year and I brought Sam Lloyd with me,
- 45:20Speaker 1: and we went to Perth and Adelaide together and we
- 45:22Speaker 1: stayed for fourteen days. And then the next year we
- 45:24Speaker 1: went to Brisbane and Sydney together, and so I took
- 45:27Speaker 1: two trips with Sam Lloyd and the two of us
- 45:29Speaker 1: had the time of our lives together. We would go
- 45:31Speaker 1: on stage and do like one hour shows and like
- 45:34Speaker 1: it was a really special time to share that with
- 45:36Speaker 1: somebody who I love so much, and it was like
- 45:38Speaker 1: an experience I'll never forget. So I'm very thankful for
- 45:41Speaker 1: those trips. Do you think you'll do more or when
- 45:43Speaker 1: the world reopens, when you do it more of it?
- 45:45Speaker 1: Or now are you over it? I think I think
- 45:47Speaker 1: quite honestly, I've hit every country I've really wanted to
- 45:50Speaker 1: go to. Unfortunately they don't really do them in Italy,
- 45:52Speaker 1: which is one place I'd like to go. And I
- 45:54Speaker 1: think that period of my life is over. You know,
- 45:56Speaker 1: I kind of did it for like over three or
- 45:58Speaker 1: four years, and I'm like to other stuff now. So no,
- 46:01Speaker 1: I think that's when you're in real estate. Now, you're
- 46:04Speaker 1: you appear to be, just from following you on social
- 46:06Speaker 1: media killing it in the West side of La real
- 46:10Speaker 1: estate market. Well, you're very kind. It's very competitive. But
- 46:14Speaker 1: I live in Santa Monica and I love it here,
- 46:16Speaker 1: and I've lived in this area of Ocean Park for
- 46:19Speaker 1: like twenty years, and I just sell homes. I sell,
- 46:22Speaker 1: I love where I live, and I sell what I know,
- 46:24Speaker 1: and like I just I'm very good at it. And
- 46:26Speaker 1: the work ethic and all the quality you need to
- 46:29Speaker 1: have to be a successful actor are qualities you need
- 46:31Speaker 1: to have to be a successful broker. Tenacity, never taking
- 46:34Speaker 1: no for an answer, never giving up out working people,
- 46:38Speaker 1: and really knowing what you're doing. So I'm having a
- 46:40Speaker 1: great time with it. And you know, it's always like
- 46:42Speaker 1: I really connect with people one on one, and I
- 46:44Speaker 1: really you know, you're really it's a huge decision when
- 46:46Speaker 1: you buy or sell a home, and I want to
- 46:48Speaker 1: really live up to those expectations for those people. Do
- 46:51Speaker 1: you have people that do you have people that are
- 46:52Speaker 1: looking at a house and all of a sudden do
- 46:54Speaker 1: a double take and like, holy shit, it's high five time. Yes,
- 47:01Speaker 1: many years ago, I think you made a joke to me.
- 47:03Speaker 1: I don't know why I remember this. It's like Rob,
- 47:04Speaker 1: you probably say when you meet a girl, you know,
- 47:06Speaker 1: I'm the Todd from Scripts that's probably your opening line
- 47:08Speaker 1: at the time, I said no, but it's certainly my
- 47:10Speaker 1: closing line. So my thing by saying with real estate
- 47:14Speaker 1: is it's never my opening line, but it's always my
- 47:16Speaker 1: closing line. So like, if I get to know somebody
- 47:19Speaker 1: and I'm doing well with them, and then at the end,
- 47:21Speaker 1: we'll buy the way I happened to be on the show,
- 47:23Speaker 1: They'll like, that's it, I love, I'll buy this house.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I can't afford it. I can't afford this house. Afford
- 47:28Speaker 1: as you're you're high five, Todd, let's go all in cash. Okay.
- 47:32Speaker 1: You know what I wanted to say to you, and
- 47:33Speaker 1: I should remember remember I should mention that I was
- 47:36Speaker 1: a realtor in the early days of the podcast and somebody,
- 47:40Speaker 1: do we get you any clients? Yes? You did, you
- 47:44Speaker 1: got not only you. Where's our question? Bro? He he's
- 47:49Speaker 1: selling his house in Escondido and he wanted me to
- 47:51Speaker 1: do it. But it's since I happen to have a
- 47:53Speaker 1: family friends down there, and I referred it to my
- 47:57Speaker 1: friend because he's a very good realtor, and he sold
- 47:59Speaker 1: the house us for him. Thanks to you guys, I
- 48:01Speaker 1: got a little referral fee. But yes, somebody who walked
- 48:04Speaker 1: listen to the podcast put him in contact with a
- 48:06Speaker 1: really good real turn in San Diego. And so do
- 48:08Speaker 1: you only do do you only do just do Santa Monica?
- 48:11Speaker 1: Or do you Venice and around there too? Do you
- 48:15Speaker 1: know my last ten sales have all been like west
- 48:17Speaker 1: of Lincoln, So like Santa Monica, Venice, Maria del Rey,
- 48:20Speaker 1: anything west of Lincoln. I guess west of the four
- 48:22Speaker 1: or five. But I really you guys say, oh you
- 48:24Speaker 1: have olive skin. I live at the beach, like I'm
- 48:26Speaker 1: looking at the ocean right now, and I just like it.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I like the lifestyle here. Yeah, yeah, I live in
- 48:32Speaker 1: the dream. Well, if you're in the market for a house,
- 48:34Speaker 1: I'm sure you can search for rob and uh and
- 48:37Speaker 1: uh come live in La at the beach and you
- 48:40Speaker 1: can do you serve from everything, all stuff of the beach,
- 48:44Speaker 1: serve from whatever. We should probably talk about the show
- 48:48Speaker 1: is smidgen more. How about Johnny wanting that hot ass
- 48:52Speaker 1: nanny to be the nanny. I think hot nanni's are
- 48:54Speaker 1: a bad idea. Anyone, let's all weigh in on that.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Have you ever had a really hot nanny? You know what?
- 49:00Speaker 1: I don't want to say no, because I don't want
- 49:01Speaker 1: to insult anybody. The nanny's that I've had have been
- 49:04Speaker 1: very beautiful people and very beautiful. Ok. No, I've not
- 49:11Speaker 1: had someone who is I've never understood these people. I've
- 49:13Speaker 1: been to people's houses and they're like, oh, this is
- 49:15Speaker 1: the nanny and she walks in and she could be
- 49:16Speaker 1: a supermodel. I'm like, this just feels like a stupid
- 49:18Speaker 1: idea for everybody involved. Well, doctor Cox says, oh that
- 49:23Speaker 1: our nanny just left, and Krista, who was so funny, says, yeah,
- 49:27Speaker 1: she's got great credentials, great per credentials. Great, it was
- 49:31Speaker 1: so funny. Christa was very funny in this episode. Oh gosh, yeah,
- 49:36Speaker 1: Oh Gosha dating a girl or boy who is consistently Okay,
- 49:42Speaker 1: So let me ask you a question. Have you ever
- 49:43Speaker 1: dated someone and every time you hung out with them,
- 49:46Speaker 1: or almost every time you hung out with them, their
- 49:49Speaker 1: ex was around hanging out too. Yes, I've been in
- 49:52Speaker 1: that situation. It's horrible. You have been in that situation.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Let me tell you something that happened to me. I
- 49:56Speaker 1: took on a college girlfriend. We had no money, so
- 49:59Speaker 1: we went on a very low budge backpacking trip around
- 50:03Speaker 1: Europe like on your rail, taking the trains, hot staying
- 50:06Speaker 1: in hostiles, backpacks as low budge as we can do it,
- 50:10Speaker 1: and every city we ended up in, her ex boyfriend
- 50:14Speaker 1: showed up in that city. He was like, he was like,
- 50:18Speaker 1: I'm doing a trip too. I can't believe we keep
- 50:21Speaker 1: ending up in the same cities, and without fail, every
- 50:26Speaker 1: city we ended up in, he'd be there and it
- 50:28Speaker 1: was really really sad for me. That is a that
- 50:31Speaker 1: is a you should be writing that movie as well, Susy.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Do you guys think do you guys think that she
- 50:41Speaker 1: was I was. I don't think. I'm just thinking of
- 50:44Speaker 1: it so many years later, I was literally fucking twenty
- 50:47Speaker 1: years old. Do you think that she was telling him
- 50:49Speaker 1: where we were going or do you think that he
- 50:51Speaker 1: was being stalkery and just I think he had found
- 50:54Speaker 1: that itinerary and was like, let me jump on this
- 50:57Speaker 1: trip we think happened. He he was doing what JD
- 51:01Speaker 1: does in this episode at the end when he runs
- 51:03Speaker 1: with the Flowers, thinking like I don't care hell or
- 51:06Speaker 1: high water, I am going to get this girl back,
- 51:09Speaker 1: and I'm going to be in every romantic city they
- 51:12Speaker 1: go to, And we were in like all like Venice
- 51:14Speaker 1: and Florence. And did he ever stay at the same
- 51:17Speaker 1: hostile as you guys? No, but the motherfucker would actually
- 51:20Speaker 1: do like zach Oh, I guess so and so whose name.
- 51:26Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say. What are you guys doing here?
- 51:30Speaker 1: And it was like, bro, we just fucking saw you
- 51:32Speaker 1: in Venice. What's going on? Stop? They have to get
- 51:36Speaker 1: back together? No? No, but I mean the guy was
- 51:40Speaker 1: all the guy was all in married for you him. Well,
- 51:43Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if they were, because he's very persistent.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Oh this is I'm making even worse for you. Oh
- 51:47Speaker 1: my god, you want to hear how bad it guy?
- 51:49Speaker 1: I never I haven't told the story ever. So we're
- 51:51Speaker 1: in Rome and she wants to get up very early
- 51:57Speaker 1: crack at dawn on Christmas Day and go to a
- 52:00Speaker 1: church service in Rome for Christmas. And she says, hey,
- 52:04Speaker 1: I know this might be a little bit odd, but
- 52:07Speaker 1: my ex of course he's here in Rome. He wants
- 52:10Speaker 1: to come with me, but it's you know, it's church,
- 52:14Speaker 1: and you don't want to go to church? Do you
- 52:15Speaker 1: mind if I go with him? It's like a seven
- 52:18Speaker 1: am service. I'm like, okay, yeah, okay, I guess it's
- 52:22Speaker 1: a little weird, but okay, sure, So they go to
- 52:25Speaker 1: their church. Thing. The thing about Rome is on Christmas Day,
- 52:30Speaker 1: everything shuts down. I mean, public transportation shuts down. There's
- 52:35Speaker 1: just it's no one is getting around in any way.
- 52:40Speaker 1: And so I literally they were across town together and
- 52:46Speaker 1: I was alone, and I spent the day walking around
- 52:49Speaker 1: Rome alone, knowing my girlfriend was with her ex on
- 52:53Speaker 1: the other side of Rome walking around on Christmas Day.
- 52:57Speaker 1: How long after that trip did you guys break up?
- 53:00Speaker 1: Not too long, I see, they see, because I was
- 53:09Speaker 1: just you know you no, wait, I mean you have
- 53:11Speaker 1: you guys been in the situation when you're like, You're like,
- 53:13Speaker 1: I don't want to be like overly jealous for no reason,
- 53:16Speaker 1: but but you're also like, but am I crazy? Like
- 53:19Speaker 1: should I know? But I'm like, you know what, you
- 53:22Speaker 1: guys know that dance where you're like, should I be jealous?
- 53:24Speaker 1: Or am I being an idiot for being jealous? And
- 53:26Speaker 1: you're kind of like vacillating between the two. Yeah, but
- 53:29Speaker 1: at that point, that's I mean, that's just too suspect.
- 53:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Dude shows up for the trip. Christmas Day
- 53:37Speaker 1: comes and she says, I want to take my ex
- 53:40Speaker 1: to the church. I know you don't like church. I'm
- 53:42Speaker 1: gonna take my ex. Yeah, that's fishy is fucked d Yeah,
- 53:47Speaker 1: the fish. And then because of no public transportation, we
- 53:50Speaker 1: couldn't we we couldn't read Billy because of public transport.
- 53:56Speaker 1: That's dog. That's dog for you, stupid motherfucker. Oh, I
- 54:07Speaker 1: don't want to be jealous. I hate being jealous. It's
- 54:10Speaker 1: the worst feeling. She told him. She told him obviously, obviously, Yes,
- 54:15Speaker 1: she told him what do y'all were doing, especially if
- 54:18Speaker 1: she went to church with him after that? Oh? Man,
- 54:20Speaker 1: it hurts, It hurts inside. All right, hold on, we're
- 54:23Speaker 1: gonna should we go to a break Joel before the
- 54:25Speaker 1: fan call. We're gonna go to break and then we're
- 54:27Speaker 1: gonna take a fan and I'm gonna let my dog
- 54:29Speaker 1: out because she has lots to say at the door.
- 54:32Speaker 1: We will be right back. Let's bring in the collar.
- 54:43Speaker 1: I hope he or she wants some innuendo jokes from
- 54:46Speaker 1: from Robin Inurindo inurindow ladies and gentlemen, freedo you are
- 55:03Speaker 1: on fake doctors, real friends with Joel Daniels, Zach Braff,
- 55:07Speaker 1: Donald fads On, and our guests, Rob Nascio, Devin Fada. Hi, Devin, welcome. Yes, Devin,
- 55:17Speaker 1: welcome to the program. How are you tell us where
- 55:19Speaker 1: you're calling from? Calling from the Upper West Side and Manhattan.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Donald grew up in Hell's Kitchen, so he knows that
- 55:29Speaker 1: side of the island at least I did. I went
- 55:32Speaker 1: to we're on the Upper west Side. We don't have
- 55:35Speaker 1: to give your exact address, but we're on the Upper
- 55:36Speaker 1: west Side. Are you like in the seventies, I went
- 55:40Speaker 1: to I S forty four. Are you near there? Uh?
- 55:45Speaker 1: Maybe I'm not really schools. Are you not from New York?
- 55:49Speaker 1: Are you not from New York? I'm from New Mexico,
- 55:52Speaker 1: Santa Fe. How long have you lived in New York?
- 55:55Speaker 1: For six or seven years now? I think? And you
- 55:59Speaker 1: live in this seventies and you don't know and on
- 56:01Speaker 1: the Upper West Side and you don't know where the
- 56:02Speaker 1: junior high schools or anything like that. Yeah, but Donald,
- 56:06Speaker 1: I'm in Manhattan. I don't know where my local public
- 56:08Speaker 1: schools are or what they're called or what their numbers are.
- 56:11Speaker 1: I grew up there, Yeah, different, I passed them. I
- 56:15Speaker 1: passed them. I just don't know which one has which name.
- 56:18Speaker 1: I teach ballet at a school and the west each
- 56:22Speaker 1: Which school? Manhattan Country School? Nice? Oh yeah? Now, oh
- 56:28Speaker 1: my god, yeah, are you single, because Rob will move
- 56:32Speaker 1: to us. Well. I went to college on the Upper
- 56:34Speaker 1: West Side. I went to Columbia. I lived on the
- 56:36Speaker 1: Upper west Side for many years. And your Columbia is
- 56:39Speaker 1: not on the Upper west Side. Dog, Yeah, it is
- 56:41Speaker 1: one hundred and fourteenth Street. But that yeah, but it's
- 56:45Speaker 1: like that's Harlem, big homie Ham Street. I've been. I'll
- 56:54Speaker 1: bet I've been a lot of us. How you white
- 56:56Speaker 1: people do us? Man? You just keep pushing Harlem up
- 56:58Speaker 1: and see how you do. Oh my god, I've been
- 57:05Speaker 1: a lot of people are surprised to learn than high five.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Todd went to an Ivy League school. Well, you know,
- 57:10Speaker 1: I graduated nineteen eighty eight. I was classmates with Neil
- 57:14Speaker 1: gorstch he's on the Supreme Court. Oh my god. So
- 57:17Speaker 1: Neil Gorst Every today, every morning he wakes up, he
- 57:20Speaker 1: puts on a robe and he decides whether or not
- 57:22Speaker 1: he should women should have the right to choose. Every
- 57:24Speaker 1: morning I wake up, put on a robe and decide
- 57:27Speaker 1: whether or not I'm going to take an online couldn't
- 57:29Speaker 1: lead a yoga class name by a gentleman named Taboo.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I was funny. I feel like I feel like his
- 57:39Speaker 1: money in Columbia was better spent than yogi. All right,
- 57:49Speaker 1: all right, Devin, do you have a question for any
- 57:51Speaker 1: of us? You have the you have a special honor
- 57:54Speaker 1: of having Rob here today. It's an extra bonus. I know,
- 57:58Speaker 1: it's awesome. Well, I wanted to say when I initially
- 58:01Speaker 1: wrote in I had been talking about So I come
- 58:03Speaker 1: from a family of doctors. My dad's an oral surgeon,
- 58:07Speaker 1: all my uncles are doctors, and then my brother, my
- 58:10Speaker 1: brother Casey is a chiropractor, and my brother Ryan is
- 58:12Speaker 1: an physiologist in Tucson, Arizona. So he actually got me
- 58:18Speaker 1: into the show because when Scrubs started, he was doing
- 58:20Speaker 1: his residency. So it's kind of like a cool way
- 58:23Speaker 1: for us to relate. So it's it's my favorite show
- 58:25Speaker 1: of all time. But I am actually an actor in
- 58:28Speaker 1: musical theater, so different from you know, from all the
- 58:34Speaker 1: doctor's stuff. But yeah, So the first question I wanted
- 58:38Speaker 1: to ask you guys was if you could recast Scrubs
- 58:43Speaker 1: with the Muppets, who would each character? Donald Donald feels
- 58:48Speaker 1: he's answered this question before. I feel like Turk and
- 58:51Speaker 1: JD are Ernie and Burt. Yes, really, I feel like, uh,
- 58:56Speaker 1: am I am I Ernie or am my Bert. It
- 58:58Speaker 1: doesn't matter. Either one of them is fine. I think
- 59:00Speaker 1: you're more I think you're more burnt than Ernie though, Okay, yeah,
- 59:05Speaker 1: I feel like, uh, let me see the janitor the
- 59:10Speaker 1: grouch oscar to Grouch. Sorry, garbage and garbage and Grouch.
- 59:15Speaker 1: He got it good one, right. I think that doctor
- 59:19Speaker 1: Cox that's a tough one. But he would be somebody
- 59:22Speaker 1: like either Kermit the Frog or uh, you know, if
- 59:26Speaker 1: it depends on what muppets you're doing. Also, if we're
- 59:28Speaker 1: doing Sesame Street, this is the way to go. But
- 59:30Speaker 1: if you're going to be miss Piggy, right, if you're
- 59:33Speaker 1: doing the muppets like Kermit, Fozzy and them, then obviously
- 59:37Speaker 1: Foz Rob is Fozzy. No, Turk is Fozzy, Fozzy Bear,
- 59:41Speaker 1: Brown Bear and and uh no. But but but Rob
- 59:45Speaker 1: has all the waka waka waka jokes. Yeah, sure, see,
- 59:48Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like Rob is animal. Agree, Yeah,
- 59:52Speaker 1: I agree with that. That's true. Rob your animal, But
- 59:55Speaker 1: I think it would be Kermits j d Uh, Fozzy's Turk,
- 59:59Speaker 1: Miss Piggy is uh is Elliott is Elliott. I feel
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: like Oscar to Grouch would be the janitor, and or
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Kelso and Sam Lloyd could be Elmo. Well, I think
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I think, yeah, that's a great or scooter scooter from
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: or or Beaker Beaker or Beaker. Right, this is a
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: tough one, it would It's gonna take me a while
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: to really think about it. Yeah. By the way, Donald's
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: gonna get so high later and really think about this
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: and on the next on the next show, I will
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: have been baked so hard tonight that I will write
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: down who I think should be. I will answer you
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: a question on the next show. Devon. Alright, good one, Devon,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: and that's you have another question for us? Yes, So,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: as I mentioned, I do musical theater. Hey, guys, do
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: you think Devon? Do you think Devon is in musical theater? Guys? Yes,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry enough. It's a tough time to be in
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: musical theater because it is you know, everyone's out of
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: work and and they just announced I think it was today,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: that they're they're pushing anything to is it may minimum? Yeah,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: which I'm going to keep going, I'm sure, but well,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: it depends on what happens. It depends on what happens
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: this year and the beginning of next year. May. I'm
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: just saying May sounds a little earlier to me, but
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: I'm not going to tell dem. Dude, Shoot, I heard
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: later than that. But okay, all right, go ahead, go ahead.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: You like musical theater, You're talking to the right crowd.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Go ahead. Yes. So my question was, Zach, if you
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: could start in another Broadway musical, what show and role
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: would you pick and also cast Donald in it. I
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: would like to do Joseph in the Amazing Technical or
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Dream Code. Okay, because here's why. Ay, I can sing
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: the lead. All right, I'm the right age to play
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: the lead. It's a very funny show. I love the
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: music from it, and the last time they did it,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: with all due respect to Donnie Osmond, it was like
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: a very campy version. I mean it was very like
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I think the show. You know, there's this whole trend
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: now with taking musicals instead of classic ones like Oklahoma
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: for example, and kind of deconstructing them and doing more
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: raw interpretations of them. And Joseph the last big tour
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: of it, as I recall, was like Donnie Osbend and
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: like in like flaming capes and very campy, and I
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: just feel like it's it's you know, the story of
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Joseph is a really insane Bible story. The music is
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: so fun and it's so silly. I would love to
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: do Joseph. So if you're a Broadway producer and you're
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: listening when the world reopens, I want to do Joseph.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I want Devin to be in it. I want Donald
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Donald to play Wait, can I tell you're gonna play Pharaoh?
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Because in Joseph, if you don't know, when Pharaoh turns around,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: he's it's played by an Elvis impersonator. And I think
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: it would be hilarious if when Pharaoh turned around it
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: was you dressed as Elvis. I hear you. Okay, do
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: you like that answer? Devon? Yeah? I do. Okay, Here's
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: what I think. Here's what I think if they couldn't
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: make And I'm just gonna answer the question because I
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: really think this is a good idea. If they could
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: make any Broadway musical right now, I would like to
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: put into the hat the Broadway musical for Back to
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: the Future. First they're doing that, they are, Yeah, I
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: think it opens in London. I think I think that
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: that is a first of all the sets could be
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: amazing and you only have to do the clock tower
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: set for most of the show, you know what I mean? Like,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: that's the that's the transition and all of that stuff.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: I think back to the future with a fifties with
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: fifties musical numbers in nineteen eighty five musical numbers, and
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: then it all coming together at the end with him
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: playing Chuck Berry. I think would be such a good
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: fucking Uh Devin, Devin, do you can you really sing? Like? Well?
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Are you more of a dancer? I'm a singer too, Yeah,
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: I am. Do you want to sing on the podcast
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: right now? Do you want to sing something like defining Gravity?
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Do you want to sing the end of defining Gravity
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: for us? Well? I was thinking because you know, obviously
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I haven't had a lot of work during this year.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I also teach Broadway workshops for Disney Theatrical and as
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: long as all the Broadway shows are closed, those are dark.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: But what I've been doing on the side to try
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: and make some money is virtual princess parties. Have you
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: been doing a lot because you got the ELSA haircut
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: right now. I did one today. Yeah, so I'll zoom
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: with you know, kids for like thirty minutes and sing
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: to them and do story time and stuff. And yeah,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: I was like if I did so, wait can tell
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: me tell wait, just give her a letter, letter, plug
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: or thing. Tell tell parents how they would find you
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: do an Elsa birthday party? Because Donald's has a daughter
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: that probably would love an Elsa birthday party. She would. Yes,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: so I have a Facebook page. You would just go
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: to facebook dot com slash Devin's d E v o
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: n S Princess Parties and I have all my some
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: pictures and flyers and email contact on there. And yeah,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: and I thought I could do some let it go
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: and Donald could sing it with me because I'd know
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: it's one of his favorites. Well, here's here's a question. Yes,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: it's not really my favorite. I do like the song
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: a lot, it's not really my favorite. My favorite. It's
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: bees will buzz, kids will blow, then they lie in
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: fuzz and I'll be doing whatever snow does in summer.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: All right, but give us for you. But but Devin,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: if you want to give us a little something, there's
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: no pressure. Sure, we aren't we you know, there's a
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: few people all over the world that actually listen to this,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: and I think that you know, you know, Bernie Telsey,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: for all you know, who's the biggest Broadway cash heater.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: For all we know, he's a he's an avid fan,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: and he's gonna go, Holy fuck, somebody, get Devin. Get
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: me Devon, Get me Devin. Get Devin on the line,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: only not not too much, Devin. Just give us, like
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: I don't know, a few bars, a few bars, Devin, okay,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: hella eight bars. H let it go, let it go,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: can't hold it back anymore. Let it go, let it go,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: turn away, slam the door. I don't care what they're
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: going to say. Let the store rage on cold. Never
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: bothered me anyway, by the way, by the way, gray job,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: and that could have gone either way. Devin, I was.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I'm sure everyone listening at home was like, oh please
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: please don't freestyle rap. Yeah, Devin, because we did have
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: someone freestyle wrap on here. It wasn't great. It wasn't great.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: That was awesome. That was all amazing. So listen, if
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: you go to get Devin to be your elsa for
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: your kid's birthday party, you're also going to get that
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: level of let it go. It comes with that and
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: oh shit, there's more, and but wait there's more. If
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: you act now, I'll also sell you somekin suns. So
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: is my best friend right here. It's a little Chihuahua
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: for you at home. Go ahead. Also, she was really
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: hoping to get an Oprah intro Donald her names Kire
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Luna Ladies. Not too loud for the people who have
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: a latching baby. Go ahead for those of you who
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: our latch, who are who have the baby latch right now?
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Maybe turned down? Yeah, turned on your volume because Donald's
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: gonna get loud. Okay, Donald, give the well I forgot
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: that Chiuawa is now what is it? What is it? Kids?
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Kira Luna ladies and gentlemen, the one and only Kira Luna. Okay,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: thank you. You can now restore your volume and reset
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: the latch. Wow, thank you. So what I'm going to
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: say is that she sometimes makes an appearance in these
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: princess parties she has when I do Ariel, she has
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: a flounder costume, spin costume, Norella, She's got a gust costume.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: So she robs Rob wants to know if you can
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: do these for fifty year old men as well for
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: children on zoom. I think it's great. I think you're
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: being very entrepreneurial and you're making the most of these times.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: And as long as you're performing every day, whether it's
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: to one person or five people, it's a great thing
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: and it'll lead to more things for you. So I
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: just want to continue success. That's great, And you know what,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: this is the way people are having to adjust. You know,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: we we were talking about doing a virtual tour because
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: we can't tour, so there's we're talking about taking this
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: show and I don't know what the hell we're doing,
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: but we're going to do sort of a concert version
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: of this. Josh Reeden is playing all these concert versions
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: for people in their PAHs and stuff like that. This
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: is a great segue actually into our favorite segment of
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: The Fake Doctor, Real Friends, just our style. Everywhere around
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: the world everywhere they love this. They love this part
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: of the podcast, and that is Devin. It's time too, Rob.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: We're going to offer advice here to whatever however Devin
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: needs to have her life fixed. Okay, go ahead, Devin,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: how can we fix your life? All? Right? So I
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: was going to ask a dating question actually Rob is
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: the perfect. Are you a single person, Devon? Yes, I
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: am okay, good good, Oh my god. No, you'll be
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: shocked to hear that I do musical theater. But it
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: is very hard to meet guys in my field because
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: most of the guys I interact with are either gay
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: or taken or very self absorbed, So it can be
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: it can be difficult, and particularly during a pandemic, to
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: meet new people. I'm not even before the pandemic. I'm
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: not someone who's gonna like I don't want to meet
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: someone at a bar or you know so, and dating
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: apps are just the worst. So I was going to ask,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: how do I meet my soulmate? Oh? Wow, Yeah, she's
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: ready to meet, she's ready to meet the ones. Yes,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: she's mandy to meet the one that might be a
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: little bit above my pay grade. Dude, I could, I could.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I could tell you how to hook up, but I
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: can't tell you how to me. Why are you so?
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Why are you so averse to the apps? I mean,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: there's so many of them. It really enables you to
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: not be an allowed bar being like, what do you
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: do for a living? You know? I think they're you know,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: I know a lot of people of all different walks
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: of life who found the right app for them and
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: have met their their their one perfect example Daniel Goodman,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Daniel my contractor, who has the cutest family you've ever seen,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: and they're both adorable. I said, I told them they
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: should be the ad for for Match. They met on Match.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: I know some of them, you know me on Tinder,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: which is about, like, you know, hooking up. But I
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: mean there's some ones that are are good? Are you?
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Why are you so against it? I try, I try
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: them so, I you know, do what I can. But
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: it's just it is hard on any of them a
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: to find guys that aren't just there to hook up.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: And because men are gross, I'm glad I'm not one
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: of them. Yeah, man, other than Donalds are growths? Have
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: you tried Jade eight? Farmers Only? I mean, have you
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: branched out? I'll tell you don't overlook it. Well, you
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: gotta be at this conversation. You gotta be a farmer
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: to be on Farmers Only. Guys, you don't not if
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: you're a beautiful woman. If she's willing to lose, I
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: get it. So it's not going to be great for her.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Musical theater career, don't willing to move to like an
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Idaho potato farm. If you're a gentleman like myself, being
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: on Farmers only is not a good idea. But if
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: you're a lovely person like Devin who's willing to move
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: to I know, farmers only is a good idea. That's
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: what you're saying. Yeah, I'm wondering if like my small
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: vegetable garden qualifies me to be on farmers How much
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: land do you have to be working my my dad
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: suggested I do Jay Day. I don't know. I don't Yeah, well,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: I think you know you're in New York. There's a
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: lot of nice Jewish boys. I think, yeah, Upper West Side,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: it's where they're all congregating. No plenty of time. I
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: don't know. Thank you, Dan, thank you. I don't know
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: what to tell you. Especially during COVID, I feel like
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: the apps were a godsend for a lot of people
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: because before that it was literally you had to go
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: to a bar, you had to go to a club,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: or you had to like you know, go on awkward
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: first dates where you knew nothing about the person, like
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: there was zero physical attraction or zero banter. And I
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: feel like a lot of my friends who've met people
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: on the apps and done well. It's like you can
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: kind of at least narrow it down and and right Dan, Daniel,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: you should be I don't know, Daniel. Daniel can speak
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: on this. Daniel, speak to it. He meant he met
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: his love, Daniel. Have we said love yet in your relationship? Oh? Absolutely? Okay, good,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: so I love I love her dearly. Are you in
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: love with her? Daniel? Are you because there's a difference, Okay, okay,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: we'll get it. That's my relationship. We don't have to
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: worry about that one right now. Way to not be selfish, Dan,
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: we're fixing devil. Which one did you use? Daniel? We
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: met on hinge And the only piece of advice I
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: will offer at all is be honest, be up front,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: and just be straightforward with everybody. I think there's a
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: little bit of, you know, revealing myself here. I'm thirty
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: one years old, so at this point the person I
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: want to be the person is probably the person that
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: I want to be with. And I find that some
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: of the games of dating and some of the ways
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: we try to plus ourselves up in the ways that
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: we try to kind of like create this perfect image
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: in this hinge profile or whatever. It's false. I think
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: you just want to come out with the like, look,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: I want to get drunk and sing show tunes of karaoke.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: If you're down, let's go on a date. If not,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: just swipe left. I think being honest about like that, like,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: what's that pure joy for you? What's that pure joy
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: that you want to share with another person that like
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: is outside of the because I really did the whole him, Dan,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I do this and this and this and blah blah
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: blah blah blah. It's like, you know what, screw all that.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: I'm not about this anymore. I like this. I like this.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: If you're down, let's hang out and we'll talk about it, because,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: like Joe Wells is gonna be, I want to get
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: high and play video games. Are you down? I'm not,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: damn it. That's my profile anyway. That's that's that's all.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: I think. That's get advice. That's great advice. That's great advice. Dan.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Here's the thing about all of that, though, there's something
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: really special about going out on dates with people that
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: you don't know. There's something good about that because if
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: the connection is real. You know it right then and there?
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I feel like in some ways, yeah,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: it's true, you're getting through all of the bullshit and
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: stuff like that with the texting and the talking over
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: the internet and getting to know each other before you meet.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: But there's there was something really cool about you meeting somebody,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Like I remember meeting girls on a train and being like,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: can I get your number? And I'm saying oh yeah, sure,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: saying no, and then now it's like, all right, now,
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: how what's my end to this young lady to go
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: out on a date? I don't know if I should
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: give you advice as the Todd or as Roberts as
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Robert definitely don't want advice as the Todd. Please I'm somebody,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: go ahead. I'm sorry. I miss meeting people in organic situations.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: That to me, is the best part of dating. Is
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: that wondering if there's something there and getting to know
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: each other and then maybe a date comes out of that.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: I hate the pressure that is put on of meeting
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: someone on an app and it's kind of like, all right,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: so either we're into this or not. You know, I
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: agree with you where you are with that whole thing.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: But what do you do though, Devin, That's the thing
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: is like in COVID, now like there's not you might
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: as well be having some banter with some guys. And
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: I'm sure you have friends that you've known from the
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: past that never got with or never dated. Yeah, is
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: there one that got away Devin that you're like, whatever
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: happened to Tony? I don't know. I don't agree about that.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: But what about after COVID? I mean, hopefully at some point, well,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: then you'll be back. Then you'll be back in a
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: show maybe. And and you know, if you're in if
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: you're in a show, it's so great because you're going
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: out for drinks and this one introduces you to that one. Oh,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: this is my cousin, this is my friend. I know
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: what you're saying that in the show there's traditionally a
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: lot of people have already coupled up or they're gay.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: But I found when I've done theater, there's so much
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: socializing that it's really conducive to dating. That is true.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: That is true. I'll have one more piece of advice. Yes,
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: last last thing I'm gonna say about it. If the
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: person you're talking to isn't ready to start meeting up
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: within like ten messages. They're not taking it seriously. I
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: think if you're on the app, what I'm saying is,
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: if you're on the apps, your goal is to decide
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: on somebody that you're attracted, to figure out when you're
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: going on to date and then going Now. I know
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: obviously this is a little COVID aside, but like the
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: dance of talking for three weeks or whatever is just like,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: let's do this in person. If they're not willing to
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: meet up after ten messages or something, skip, you're out
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: forget that. Yeah, we're here to meet, not here to
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: just talk. Okay. What does it mean when you like
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: text and text and text and they just don't write
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: back though, that means they're not interesting? Get out of there?
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: Those are Those are the games I was referring to earlier.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: We're not playing these games anymore, right, And Devin, I mean,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: I don't I think that you Yeah, I think it.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: Also Again, we don't know how old you are, but
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: you but you can I mean to me, to me,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: you look twenty four years old. I don't know what
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: you are, but yes, yes, absolutely, but I would say,
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: and I know this is not this is a sweeping generalization,
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: but if you tend to date slightly older men, they're
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: going to be probably less likely to just be down
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: to just try and bang as many women as possible. Hope.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: So like people people like Rob's age, Rob, what did
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: you say you are like fifty four? Like the fifty
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: four year olds who live in the in the on
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: the west side of Lace. Those those type of people,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: those type of people, those people. But Devin as Devin,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: it's so obvious that like you came out a podcast,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: you're sang a song. You're such an extroverted, outgoing person.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: You have a great personality and you look great. I
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: have on my glasses like you were going to meet
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: somebody organically in the course of your life. You're a
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: catch down. Yeah, you're totally a catch time. That's what
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: I see. Let me put my glasses on. Probably Devin
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: probably doesn't want to wear someone who has to go
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: put on their glasses to look at the zoom and squints.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Do they needn't biagraph for the eyes? Oh my god, Robert, Robert, Robert, Robert,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: those those trifocals. This is just like my readers from
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: write aid. All right, we gotta end this, Devin, Devin
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: looks Devin. Welcome. Devin, you're welcome. We just fixed your life,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: fixed your life, and you're welcome. Stand just go out
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: there and stand up for yourself. You know what else
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: stands there for itself? Oh my god, Devin, I'm sorry. Yeah, Davin,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: I'm sorry you had to have the todd on. But
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: before you were on, he admitted to patting his banana hammock,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: so so it balances out. No, he did not, He
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: did not admit to that. He said, Okay, let's be honest, now,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: don't keep He wrapped it like a pig in a blanket,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: and then he took the wrapping off. Okay, okay, Kevin,
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: you are a wonderful guest. Thank you, Thank you so much,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: the best love the podcast. I it's helped me get
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: through quarantine, So thank you. And you have a beautiful voice.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: And I have no doubt that you're gonna have excuge
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: music repeater career, go out. And you have a very
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: cute and you have a very cute dog. Yeah we
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: have a good one. Oh my gosh, thank goodness, she
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: could sing, dude, But thank goodness she could sing. That
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: would have been really kind of thought if Rob had
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: any game, there would have been a love connect. I'm
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: throwing different times. Okay, for those of you out there,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Rob and and Devin might have made a really good apple.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: How old she was she looked she late twenty thirty two,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: early thirties. Probably. I don't know, but Rob, if you're
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: willing to move your whole life to the up the
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: west side back to oh, you're teking to a guy.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: I've been in an on again, off again relationships for
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: twelve years with Amanda. I'm no one too. She came
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: met her and you met her on Scrubs, didn't you
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: didn't meet her scrub? Yes? See when she when this
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: young lady came on the podcast just now, she was
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: very upfront that she was looking for a date. She
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: knows that I'm in a relationship. She knows Zach's in
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: the relationship. She knows Daniel's in a relationship. She knows Joel.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: That's not Joel's, you know, unless she's willing to do things,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: Joel's not into that. Imam bisexual. I don't know what
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: people do. But oh, I didn't know that. I didn't
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: know that, Oh Joel, Joel Joell Joe. You we've been
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: fucking chucking me need to be revealed, just like Joe.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: Well this Amos likes You're just like Thunders of Flaws
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: Dan Thunders, Joel. I, we've only been trying to set
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: you up with women. I thought that I did not
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: know that you were fluid? Is that what you say? Fluid?
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: I did not know you were fluid? Okay, so this
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: changes the game, changes the game because it was Joell,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: this is wrong. So Joell, this is wrong. This is wrong.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: Oh oh, but that's gonna be great, though, Joell. When
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: we do finally get you on one of these dating apps,
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: you're gonna have a lot more options because I didn't
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: know that you were. Yes, it's gonna be crazy. It's
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: gonna be wild. Na make it work. No, now it's
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: gonna be crazy. Now it's gonna be wild. Now it's
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: gonna be Now, that's gonna be crazy. All right. We
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: didn't We didn't get to too much of the show.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: I laughed. When I'm trying to by on the on
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: Elliott and Sean and I and I get attacked by bees,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: I'm trying to be stealth and I'm like bees bees. Also,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: I laughed, really hard at Rob's. Does she also make
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: you wax your vagina? Yes? And then a sterile high five?
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: What about? I laughed real heart at this one too.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Three days Sean No, Elliott four days, Sean No six
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: months Elliott five days. What about when Kelsa goes, well,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: snip my pickle and call me Shlomo. And then and
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: then Bob Kelso goes, uh, it's ten inches. And then
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: and then Matt Winston goes, it's like a bag hit Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: he's seen. He goes because Bob he goes, Bob Kelso
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: ten inches and then he walks up and goes, it's
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: like a baghette. Yeah, I and he. I don't know
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: if that was his joke or one of the writer's
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: jokes or somebody, but that was improved in the moment,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: and it was so fucking funny on that Scott Folly
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: in a fat suit. Scott Folly in a fat suit.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: That was funny. Uh, I laughed. I what about Liberry
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: strawberry strawberry strawberry. I laughed at that too. Yeah. This
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: is one of Troy's big first well, actually this is
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: Troy's second, third, third, third episode, third episode okay, Uh, Car,
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: I think Colin Turk are really cute in this episode. Also,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: I think they're there there. Uh. Their banter is very
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: cute and it reminds me of my wife when I
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: tried to explain to her why she's a pain, and
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: then she lets me know that I am a pain
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: and that you know all of the things that that
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: pain me. She could easily reverse the tables and say
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: the exact same thing. I liked it when the Troy
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: says to the janitor, shouldn't we just kill him? And
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: then janitors, no, that's what he wants. That's what Troy is,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: like a fucking felon, like like if Troy Will wants
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: to murder somebody. Yeah, that bus station was the back
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: door to the hospital. Though that wasn't like they didn't
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: need to go to a but that was just like
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: they a greyhound bus now. But by the way, I
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: had forgotten the Shawn stayed and j D runs and
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: brings to the flowers and and uh, and then there're Sean.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: They're trying to make it work long distance, so sad
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: for JD. Did you improvise that line where you're like,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: I'm not sure the flowers are going to reach the water. Yeah,
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: that's fine, because he's gotten near this giant bouquet and
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: I have my little shitty bouquet. They're gonna just stick
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: him in there, and I'm like, I'm not sure they
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: can reach the water. But then it cuts to that
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: shot of Sarah and Scott at the end going at it.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: Oh my god, were they kissing? Yeah, well Sarah probably
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: thought Scott fully's not gonna be on the show much longer.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I need to get mine. Oh my god, there's been
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: so many revelations in this show. Joel is open to

- 1:27:19Speaker 1: trying to get you guys to you turk to come
