Mia Swan’s debut 2025 novel, BloodStruck, is a paranormal romance featuring a push and pull betweenmain characters Ashley Storm and Oliver Fraser, both attending afictional Toronto university, and Oliver is a vampire. Mia and I chatabout her writing process, how to pick and choose the tropes and makethat well-known to readers, how she puts a new spin on things to notrepeat what’s been done before, and how the self-publishing processwas different for her in 2025 than it was form me in 2013.
