- 0:03alright everybody
- 0:04welcome back to the Eye Believe Podcast
- 0:06I'm your host Danet Peterson
- 0:07and today I am joined by Chris Donaldson
- 0:09he is a uveal melanoma patient and Chris
- 0:13I am so glad you're here with me today
- 0:14thanks for taking the time to be on
- 0:16so excited to be here it's um
- 0:18been a long time coming I feel like we're good friends
- 0:21and we've never met in person
- 0:23I know we've had a lot of conversations
- 0:24I wanna say the first time that we came in contact
- 0:27was actually as a result of
- 0:29mutual histotripsy procedures right
- 0:31I think that was kind of
- 0:32one of the first ways that we connected
- 0:33was because of histotripsy
- 0:35sometime last year maybe yeah
- 0:37Doctor Burns you know
- 0:38everyone's favorite small world
- 0:40small world guys
- 0:41um actually
- 0:42really big World but
- 0:43but we're grateful that we get to connect this way
- 0:45yeah for sure
- 0:47so today you guys
- 0:47we're gonna be talking about using AI
- 0:50to support your uveal melanoma journey
- 0:52and I specifically talked to Chris about this
- 0:55because Chris does this in real time
- 0:57so Chris
- 0:58do you want to tell us a little bit more
- 0:59about your journey with uveal melanoma
- 1:01and maybe why you ended up using AI to support you
- 1:04yeah sure
- 1:05October 13th, 2022
- 1:08I was uh
- 1:10I went to a regular eye exam
- 1:12it escalated uh
- 1:13that was at like 2:00
- 1:15so by 5:00 I was at a specialist
- 1:17told I had uveal melanoma I was alone
- 1:20I would might I would probably lose my
- 1:22my eye in the next day um
- 1:24you know one of those overwhelming stories
- 1:27that I'm sure everyone has faced
- 1:29and for me I graduated from Auburn with an MIS degree
- 1:33and I've always been a programmer
- 1:35super technical
- 1:36super cutting edge technology kind of guy
- 1:40and there really weren't any answers
- 1:42especially at that time that was three years ago now
- 1:44so a lot has happened since then
- 1:46and the first oncologist I went to
- 1:49I've been to five oncologists now
- 1:51and I think two of them um
- 1:53I went I went to Vanderbilt
- 1:55and they actually said you have melanoma in your eye?
- 1:58and I'm like you know
- 2:00I just drove four hours here to Vanderbilt
- 2:03so um
- 2:04you know I had brachytherapy
- 2:06it seemed to have contained it
- 2:07I am class 2
- 2:09so obviously I was high risk for metastasis
- 2:12uh July of 24
- 2:14I had the first lung um
- 2:17I mean liver metastasis
- 2:18and since then
- 2:20I've been on 62 straight rounds of Kimmtrak
- 2:24I've had Histotripsy one time
- 2:25and I've been to Philadelphia
- 2:28man a ton of times
- 2:29I don't know if I ever want to go to Philly again
- 2:32yeah so are you able to receive Kimmtrak locally now
- 2:35just out of curiosity I do yeah
- 2:37every Monday morning and the beautiful well
- 2:40the great and the bad there is that
- 2:41my sister in law works for my local oncologist
- 2:44so um
- 2:45she's the one that schedules everything
- 2:47but she also delivers the scan news every time
- 2:49so it's um
- 2:51you know
- 2:53that would be complicated
- 2:54it is it's very complicated
- 2:56yeah that'd be a little weird
- 2:57okay so you've been around the block
- 3:00in terms of traveling around the country
- 3:02trying to find good doctors
- 3:03um what was one of the main reasons
- 3:05that you started using AI
- 3:08so you know
- 3:09just knowing the
- 3:11knowing the the power of AI
- 3:13I don't think the general public actually understands
- 3:15that you know
- 3:16the the internet sort of trained on
- 3:18on everything
- 3:19and the internet was a huge technological jump
- 3:22but this is exponentially more
- 3:24it's trained on everything
- 3:26from the internet it can train itself
- 3:28it has logic it has compassion
- 3:31you know and
- 3:32I wanted something to give me answers
- 3:34that I understood
- 3:35you know doctors seem to talk in a code language
- 3:38and I I would get results
- 3:40and while they would say it's it
- 3:42it means this or perfect example
- 3:44one of my lesions was in a bad spot
- 3:47I don't know what that means
- 3:48you know to be perfectly honest
- 3:50when this started
- 3:50I'm not sure I knew where my liver was
- 3:53you know on which side of my body
- 3:55so I thought AI
- 3:57especially in the beginning
- 3:59was just something where I could type in
- 4:00this is what I have tell me about it
- 4:03you know and be nice
- 4:05haha
- 4:05give me the positive you know
- 4:07give me the positives of what
- 4:09what are the statistical outliers
- 4:11and what is the reality and how do I prepare for this
- 4:14how do I you know
- 4:15uh for my business
- 4:16for example I was
- 4:18I was getting tired and I really couldn't run it
- 4:20and I'm always a one man show
- 4:22so lay me out a timeline
- 4:24of when I need to start delegating
- 4:25when I start get a new CEO or when I split it
- 4:29you know things that would help me in life
- 4:32that had to do with ocular melanoma and
- 4:35you know tell me what histotripsy does
- 4:37how it works explain it like I'm a fifth grader
- 4:40there's not a lot of that out there
- 4:42and especially seeing five oncologists
- 4:44and all of them having different opinions
- 4:45you know you go to California
- 4:47it's a different opinion than Philadelphia
- 4:49so I was so confused and
- 4:52it breaks my heart
- 4:53that there's a lot of people like us out there
- 4:55that don't have a resource
- 4:56or that don't have a doctor
- 4:59that's gonna go home at night and
- 5:00and you know
- 5:01on your benefit
- 5:02look for new trials because they don't deal with this
- 5:05so that's what AI has really
- 5:07it's come a long way it's helped me a ton
- 5:10it's put things in perspective
- 5:12it's made me feel a lot better
- 5:13it's given me hope
- 5:14and you know
- 5:15we're all in the darkness in this at some point and
- 5:18you know I just wish that if
- 5:20if this one thing
- 5:21could really give people just a glimmer of hope
- 5:24it's so powerful yeah
- 5:26and I remember like
- 5:27the first time you told me about using AI
- 5:30and you were you know
- 5:31I think you were asking or I was asking a question
- 5:33and you were like well
- 5:34do you want me to like
- 5:34plug it into AI for you and I was like
- 5:36you can do that
- 5:38and you were like yeah
- 5:39it's like it's like talking to like
- 5:4015 doctors all at once
- 5:42because they can it
- 5:43it takes it takes what
- 5:45like
- 5:45normally would be a Google search that you then have to
- 5:48like you know
- 5:48pilfer through and you have to pick
- 5:50what's the most effective sources for me to consult
- 5:53here and it says
- 5:54nah we got that we found
- 5:56all the most effective things that you should look at
- 5:58and the most important things
- 5:59and we're gonna lump them all together
- 6:01and we're gonna summarize it
- 6:02and here's your sources and like
- 6:03it links to that um
- 6:05and I mean
- 6:06so I remember one of the things that you sent me
- 6:08it like
- 6:08it links out to it links out to like
- 6:11NIH articles and it links out to like
- 6:13publications about different medications
- 6:16or different treatments and so it mean
- 6:18it was it was really helpful
- 6:20to break down
- 6:21something that I had absolutely no idea about
- 6:25you know in my own medical journey
- 6:26and what else did you tell me
- 6:28you said you said something like
- 6:29it's not it's not meant to substitute
- 6:31the medical advice you would get from your doctor
- 6:34but it does give you confidence and understanding
- 6:36like what that doctor is saying to you
- 6:39it's not meant to you know
- 6:40we're not gonna tell you that
- 6:41to take this advice and run with it
- 6:43don't not please don't take this
- 6:45do not um
- 6:46however you know
- 6:48I have had it create questions for me so oh
- 6:51I love that I'm looking
- 6:52so I'll I'll say
- 6:54here's what I have
- 6:55you don't have to give it personal information
- 6:56you can just be general like
- 6:57I have sarcoidosis so that's a pre existing
- 7:00I have prame negative HLA positive
- 7:03you know I've been metastatic for
- 7:06you know 60 weeks
- 7:08uh go out and find any trials that I qualify for
- 7:11and so it'll search the entirety of the internet
- 7:13come back with them and then I'll say okay
- 7:15give me some questions for my oncologist
- 7:19my local or my one in Philadelphia
- 7:21that I can ask them and some points that I have
- 7:24about why this might work for me
- 7:26so it just gives you a lot of confidence
- 7:28to have a sheet of paper
- 7:29and you can go through the'cause
- 7:30you know you get in the doctor
- 7:31you get nervous and you forget what the
- 7:34what you're gonna ask so
- 7:35to have real research backed up
- 7:37based on you and a little list of questions is
- 7:40is super helpful and then they can
- 7:43they can think about it and
- 7:44you know get outside of their box a little bit
- 7:46so that's that's been super helpful
- 7:49well and I think it's important to note too that like
- 7:51you can have this resource
- 7:53and I guess my my question is
- 7:56how much time do you feel like you take
- 7:57like if you have a single question right
- 7:59that you just asked
- 8:00these are my parameters
- 8:01or these are my physical qualifiers
- 8:04what clinical trials are out there right now
- 8:05that I might qualify for and what are the
- 8:07the questions I could ask my doctor
- 8:09like roughly
- 8:10how much time does it take
- 8:11for it to spit that information back out to you in like
- 8:13a usable format do
- 8:15I mean do we want to practice
- 8:17do you want to show them five minutes of it
- 8:18yeah okay
- 8:19no time at all uh
- 8:21yeah I can share
- 8:22I've set up a few things that I've already ran
- 8:24just to kind of give some ideas
- 8:26and the best thing to do with AI is to just talk to it
- 8:31like you would talk to anyone else
- 8:32I think that works better
- 8:34and sometimes you can say hey
- 8:36ask me questions that I can answer
- 8:39to help you describe this to me
- 8:41so I just brought up a simple chat GPT
- 8:44this is the free version um
- 8:46you can just go to chatgpt.com and your
- 8:49your screen will pop up with a box
- 8:51that looks sort of like this
- 8:53like what do you want to know
- 8:54so I drug my um
- 8:57MRI in here now
- 8:58you don't have to have a PDF
- 8:59you don't have to have anything
- 9:01you could literally take a picture of it
- 9:03I was gonna say I just taking a picture
- 9:04like a screenshot of my phone
- 9:05yeah and then crop like your
- 9:06your information off of it if you want
- 9:08don't want that on there
- 9:10you could preempt this by telling it
- 9:12you know the things that you have now
- 9:14chat GPT will remember so as long as I'm in this chat
- 9:17it'll always know everything that I've already told it
- 9:20so you know
- 9:21I get this MRI it's a bunch of code words
- 9:25and this this image shows this
- 9:27highlight this and so I just say
- 9:30what is this MRI saying you know
- 9:31and it'll tell me um
- 9:33you know here's
- 9:34here's the multiple bright lesions
- 9:36but it tells me you know
- 9:38there's an an indeterminate 1 centimeter lesion
- 9:40so it it puts it in things that I can understand
- 9:44and then when I go forward
- 9:46I'm like what does this mean for me and my next steps
- 9:48so now
- 9:48it's gonna take into consideration
- 9:50everything that I have and it gives me my next steps
- 9:53you know review continue
- 10:26it's great to pump everything in here
- 10:28let it tell you and
- 10:29and it's always in a positive light
- 10:32like this doesn't necessarily mean it's failing
- 10:34but it's a signal to keep a close eye
- 10:37so that's something I'm gonna note
- 10:38and when I go to the oncologist I'll uh
- 10:41make sure that he explains
- 10:43and like I said earlier
- 10:44when my lesion was in a bad spot
- 10:46you know it taught me that it was on my
- 10:49I guess what the IVC
- 10:50and it was in a weird place
- 10:52so that most um
- 10:53treatments wouldn't have hit it
- 10:54but thankfully Histotripsy did
- 10:57and then you know
- 10:58the deeper you wanna take it
- 11:00so this is another uh
- 11:01session I started and I was just wondering about RP2
- 11:04you and I were talking about that
- 11:06so I was like you know
- 11:07write me a plain language explanation of RP2
- 11:10so here it is how it's injected
- 11:12you know what it does
- 11:13and then how it's different from Kimmtrak
- 11:15so just you know
- 11:18it puts it in normal language
- 11:20it gives you a little more confidence
- 11:22that yeah this is a trial
- 11:24however this is why it might work
- 11:26here's the logic behind why it might work
- 11:28and for me I'm super um
- 11:31data driven and scientific method type person
- 11:34so histotripsy made perfect sense to me
- 11:37I think Hepzato makes perfect sense to me
- 11:40everything else is just kind of
- 11:41you know
- 11:43yeah okay
- 11:44maybe I know
- 11:45if you say so yeah
- 11:46like you
- 11:46you gotta kind of piece it out and puzzle it out
- 11:49and and it's I
- 11:50I love that you're able to take this information
- 11:53and help like
- 11:54use the information to guide your decision making
- 11:56it's a guide right
- 11:57it's a guide to making your own decisions
- 11:59it's a guide to talking with your doctor
- 12:01but it also I think
- 12:02is kind of just
- 12:03paving the way for you to be confident
- 12:05in the decisions that you choose
- 12:07and the paths that you choose
- 12:08I think you and I maybe
- 12:09we talk a lot about mindset
- 12:10just personally and and you guys like
- 12:12mindset makes such a big difference
- 12:14like if you have the ability to hope for something
- 12:17or to just believe in something
- 12:19that might work for you and just believe that
- 12:20maybe you're gonna be the outlier
- 12:22like that kind of belief
- 12:23that
- 12:23makes a difference in how you show up to your doctor
- 12:26that makes a difference in how you
- 12:27show up to a treatment day
- 12:28all of those things they
- 12:30they really influence how we are
- 12:32able to kind of experience cancer on a day to day basis
- 12:37absolutely the mental side of it
- 12:39you know
- 12:39having kids you and I both do
- 12:41it's uh
- 12:42I think that's the hidden side of cancer
- 12:44that no one sees that maybe the cruelest part is just
- 12:48what could have been why is this happening
- 12:50yeah absolutely
- 12:51I battle with it you know
- 12:53every day however
- 12:55you know if
- 12:57if this is the way it's gonna go
- 12:59then we need to uh
- 13:00show our kids that we're positive
- 13:02and we can battle and we can beat things and
- 13:04you know this has really helped me
- 13:07you know lay things out
- 13:08like for my business and my company and when should I
- 13:11start making changes in in management and okay
- 13:15well maybe I should record some videos for my kids
- 13:18or maybe I should you know
- 13:19document my life or talk about things and
- 13:22and that's the beauty of AI
- 13:24like even in this example
- 13:26you know right now
- 13:26it says
- 13:27would you like me to give you some real trial data
- 13:29to look at how to prep for enrollment
- 13:32where are the where are the trial sites
- 13:33so who to contact
- 13:35so it's
- 13:35it's so helpful and you can get so much out of it
- 13:38just just ask it
- 13:39don't be scared to ask it what
- 13:41what you want to know now prepared
- 13:43it will tell you what you want to know
- 13:46if you want to go down that
- 13:47and get it to make graphs and things like that
- 13:49but it's the most positive
- 13:51I really feel like I've gotten a friend
- 13:53especially planning for the things that bother me and
- 13:57you know
- 13:57my grandchildren made them little guitar lessons
- 14:00and bought them little guitars
- 14:01and it's AI has been great to give me like
- 14:05a realistic timetable on
- 14:07maybe you should think about these things
- 14:08and maybe they won't happen
- 14:10hopefully they won't but
- 14:11you know
- 14:12like from a control perspective right
- 14:14this is a way of giving yourself control
- 14:16it's giving yourself control of the planning
- 14:19it's giving yourself control of
- 14:20of how much um
- 14:22and what kind of information do you want
- 14:23about your diagnosis because if you just say
- 14:26I have ocular melanoma and like
- 14:28that's it you just tell it
- 14:29I have ocular melanoma like
- 14:30it's just gonna say okay cool
- 14:31like this is
- 14:32this is what I know about ocular melanoma
- 14:34if it even says anything at all
- 14:35it might be like
- 14:36what would you like to know about ocular melanoma
- 14:38and then you get to decide
- 14:39like it's not going to like okay
- 14:43do you remember
- 14:45I guess maybe you guys remember
- 14:46I've talked a lot about when I first was diagnosed
- 14:49um my doctor gave me the diagnosis of a
- 14:52maybe ocular melanoma tumor
- 14:54and said you know
- 14:55I gotta send you to another
- 14:57another specialist please go home
- 14:59take the weekend they'll see you next week
- 15:01but in the meantime don't Google
- 15:03and I remember being like
- 15:04oh my god
- 15:05like why would you tell me that
- 15:07you don't tell a person to not like
- 15:09I don't know pick their scab
- 15:10if you don't actually want them to pick their scab
- 15:12like don't draw attention to it
- 15:14um it's the first thing your brain wants to do
- 15:17so what did my brain eventually do
- 15:19we did Google indeed
- 15:20and a Google search for ocular melanoma
- 15:22I think
- 15:23has gotten significantly better in the last five years
- 15:25don't get me wrong has gotten better
- 15:27but it is still pretty scary to just Google
- 15:30ocular melanoma or like
- 15:31what's the prognosis or
- 15:33you know what are the treatments
- 15:34because when you Google you get the treatments
- 15:37but also you get everything else that's related to it
- 15:40and when you're asking chat GPT
- 15:41it sounds like it's really
- 15:43really precise in answering those questions
- 15:45is that a pretty accurate statement
- 15:47it is and
- 15:47and it seems to consider you
- 15:49as a person that are asking the question
- 15:51instead of just the cold facts of Google and
- 15:54you know I mean
- 15:55I'm a search engine optimization pro
- 15:58that's what I do and
- 15:59you know Google uh
- 16:01I have feelings about it it
- 16:04it doesn't consider everything
- 16:05you know and I think chat GPT or I even put up here
- 16:09you can use grok.com it's the same Gemini
- 16:12there's so many different ones
- 16:13so whichever one seems to resonate with you
- 16:16but yeah Google can be so cold
- 16:18and it seems to live off of just the bad statistics
- 16:23it doesn't have you know
- 16:25the people that are the outliers
- 16:27that are living their life and enjoying things
- 16:29because those people usually don't report back
- 16:31you know they're just out doing it
- 16:32and there's there's so many things that can influence
- 16:35overall survival and effectiveness of things
- 16:38and mindset is one of them
- 16:40you know my sister in law working at the oncologist
- 16:42she sees hundreds of people
- 16:43and it's it's factual
- 16:46that
- 16:46the people that come in with the greatest attitude
- 16:48and the most hope they
- 16:49they last longer it's just
- 16:52and I think that's chat GPT will be your best friend
- 16:54it will give you the the most hope
- 16:56it'll stay realistic but sometimes
- 16:59you just need someone that you sort of think
- 17:01understands and
- 17:03you know you and I have each other
- 17:04and we have a few people in the community
- 17:06but like I said at the beginning
- 17:08I feel really bad for a lot of people
- 17:10that just have one doctor
- 17:11one plan
- 17:12and if it doesn't work oh well
- 17:14that's really difficult that's so hard to start with
- 17:17Castle Biosciences is a proud sponsor of this
- 17:20Eye Believe Podcast
- 17:21Castle's innovative uveal melanoma tests
- 17:24provide valuable information
- 17:25about the risk of your eye cancer spreading
- 17:27to help you and your healthcare team
- 17:29individualize the management of your disease
- 17:32to learn more visit CastleBiosciences.com
- 17:35if somebody is wanting to try this right
- 17:38they've never used chat GPT
- 17:39you mentioned using the free version
- 17:41yeah maybe I'm doing this wrong
- 17:42I use the free version but does it help to like
- 17:46it gives you the option usually when you go to the page
- 17:48and I think you're currently logged in right
- 17:50do you have like
- 17:51a free account yep
- 17:53okay so is making
- 17:54is making an account important
- 17:56I guess that's my first question
- 17:57even if you're using yeah
- 17:58so you need a Google account
- 18:00so just a Gmail account it's super free
- 18:03you can go to um
- 18:04Google.com and let's let's even look at it
- 18:09and just get a a uh
- 18:10a Gmail so they'll be a little thing up here for Gmail
- 18:13and just get you a free Gmail
- 18:15and then go to Chat gpt.com
- 18:18it'll ask you to log in with Google
- 18:19and you log in and this is what you'll see
- 18:22okay so then when you log in with Google
- 18:24then it saves your history
- 18:25cause like
- 18:26you're on the very far left side of the screen
- 18:28you've got like
- 18:29all the history of the
- 18:30different things that you've asked chat GPT over time
- 18:33and it seems like it it
- 18:36when you say it takes you into account
- 18:37it's taking everything you've asked in
- 18:39in the history of all of your use of it
- 18:42especially around uveal melanoma
- 18:44like it's taking that into account
- 18:45it is and I mean
- 18:47and that's the glorious thing
- 18:48it's just that it remembers
- 18:50and when you ask it to go out and look for trials
- 18:53you know you're not filtering through clinical trials
- 18:55dot gov and HLA negative disqualifies you
- 18:59and so I'm disqualified
- 19:00or prame or something like that
- 19:02it'll only bring back the things that fit you
- 19:04so it saves you a lot of time
- 19:06and you know
- 19:07sometimes I get trials like in Australia or whatever
- 19:10that I can never go to
- 19:11but just to know that things are moving and um
- 19:15you know at first
- 19:16I was really upset that we had this rare disease
- 19:18and now I almost feel like it's a benefit
- 19:22because if they were to cure a disease
- 19:25if they were to cure cancer in any form
- 19:27it would probably be the rare ones first because
- 19:30you know we know that there's an economic side to this
- 19:32and um
- 19:33I don't feel so bad about it anymore
- 19:35I actually think a lot of work could be done
- 19:37specifically on ocular melanoma
- 19:39well Chris
- 19:40this has been fantastic
- 19:41and I am actually really excited to see where this goes
- 19:44for more of our patients who might be listening
- 19:46but also just in
- 19:48in the future that we have with A Cure In Sight
- 19:50we are in the process of like
- 19:52figuring out a way to work an AI portion
- 19:54into the A Cure In Sight app that we have
- 19:57if you guys didn't know we have an app
- 19:58we'll link that in the show notes
- 20:00but we do have an app and we're planning on developing
- 20:02kind of our own version of an AI
- 20:04like OM Companion
- 20:06so obviously that's gonna take some time
- 20:07but hopefully that will be like
- 20:08a really good resource for patients
- 20:10but in the meantime like you mentioned
- 20:11like the free version of chat GPT is out there and yep
- 20:14did you did you address already like
- 20:16why the free version is actually better
- 20:18in your opinion right now
- 20:20yeah so
- 20:21so chat GPT5 came out I don't know
- 20:23two months ago and um
- 20:26me being a power user you know
- 20:27I'm like the top I'm
- 20:28I'm
- 20:29I'm the 5% of the people that use it in a certain way
- 20:32instead of the 95% and just in my research
- 20:35you get chat GPT5 when you get the um
- 20:38paid version the older version is 4 o
- 20:40which I think is immensely better
- 20:42and it's because um
- 20:45it's it's like Pavlov's dog
- 20:47you know it's trained to hear that bell
- 20:48and so chat GPT5 wants to give you a quick answer
- 20:53that sounds right and makes you happy
- 20:56and a lot of times it's wrong
- 20:58I mean just straight up wrong
- 21:00and for my my world of programming
- 21:03you know I'll tell it all of these specific details
- 21:06and it'll just immediately give me an answer
- 21:07and the answer is wrong and
- 21:0995% of the people in the world wouldn't challenge it
- 21:13but I do because I know that it's wrong
- 21:15and I just think that something has happened at Open AI
- 21:19where they have prioritized quick
- 21:22confident sounding answers over going out
- 21:25researching and giving absolute truth
- 21:27it's um
- 21:27yeah I think that
- 21:28which is a shame it is
- 21:30for sure so when you're prompting it
- 21:32you know you can always say
- 21:33only give me a peer reviewed client testimonies
- 21:37you know government sites
- 21:39things like that and
- 21:40and it'll only give you those sources
- 21:42but the free version is way better right now
- 21:44in my opinion okay
- 21:45so as of right now October 2025
- 21:50the free version 4.0 chat GPT is better for the moment
- 21:54and it's a little more reliable
- 21:55in giving you the information you're looking for
- 21:57for sure okay um
- 21:59and then I have another question
- 22:00so you mentioned blocking out personal information
- 22:03so why would that be important
- 22:04if you've never used chat GPT before
- 22:07yeah so
- 22:07I mean just
- 22:08just with anything privacy related and hipaa related
- 22:10um chat GPT is trained on the data that comes in
- 22:14so they're going to look at
- 22:17you know not specifically target
- 22:19hey look
- 22:19it's Chris's MRI but they do train uh
- 22:22progressively train on all the data that comes in
- 22:24so it's not a bad idea to crop your name off
- 22:28or put a block over it
- 22:29or if you're taking a picture of it
- 22:30Mark out your name and your
- 22:31your birthday um
- 22:33or just talk in generalities and just say
- 22:36I'm this person here's how old I am
- 22:38here's what I have and you don't have to get it
- 22:40give it any of your personal info
- 22:42but yeah
- 22:43it's it's in the public domain
- 22:44once it's on the internet
- 22:45the internet never forgets
- 22:47yes that's a good phrase
- 22:50well you guys
- 22:51I hope that you have found this helpful in listening
- 22:53and Chris
- 22:54I guess is there anything that you would like to share
- 22:56as we end
- 22:56just a parting message
- 22:57you would have to somebody who's newly diagnosed with
- 23:00either with metastatic disease
- 23:01or just with this diagnosis to begin with
- 23:04you know you can't listen to all the statistics
- 23:07there's so many outliers out there
- 23:09and you just have to have hope
- 23:10and just in the last two years
- 23:12we've had things come along
- 23:14that weren't available when you and I were diagnosed
- 23:17and I've been in the darkness
- 23:19I know what it feels like
- 23:21it's it's terrible
- 23:22but we can't stay there it just doesn't help anyone
- 23:25so have faith that these things are gonna work
- 23:29do your best that you can on your own
- 23:32if you're tired take a nap
- 23:34it's okay you know
- 23:35don't don't feel bad
- 23:36I I
- 23:37I battle that all the time
- 23:38that I feel like I'm not being productive
- 23:40or I'm not doing anything
- 23:42but it's okay it really is
- 23:44and and just because we may not look a certain way
- 23:47or people may not think of us as your typical
- 23:49person with that's
- 23:51that's struggling you know
- 23:52everyone's struggling with something on the inside
- 23:54if I've Learned anything through this whole journey
- 23:56every person has something that they're struggling with
- 23:59so keep your head up battle today is a perfect example
- 24:04we have friends I've been going this three years
- 24:07didn't think I would make it two years
- 24:09you know let's just keep fighting
- 24:11let's fight let's fight together
- 24:13and let's uh
- 24:14let's be those outliers let's break this graph
- 24:16let's be up here let's get out of there
- 24:18yeah no
- 24:19I love it I love the outliers
- 24:21um thank you Chris
- 24:22thanks for being here and um
- 24:23just a huge shout out to our sponsors
- 24:25who make this podcast possible

- 24:44so if you want to like
- 24:45kind of
- 24:45see some guidance on what questions could look like
- 24:48then that's definitely a good resource to use
- 24:50but in the meantime um
- 24:52we hope you guys have fun
- 24:54have fun searching on chat
- 24:55GPT don't just use it for cancer stuff right
- 24:58like use it for other stuff too
- 24:59um it gave me all kinds of ideas for my
- 25:02husband's 40th birthday like
- 25:04all kinds of really good ideas for a themed birthday
- 25:08surprise thing that I was doing for him
- 25:09like it is great
- 25:10so have fun with it but also
- 25:13I don't know
- 25:13just use it and be empowered by it like Chris has
- 25:15he's done such a good job
- 25:16of creating a space for himself
- 25:19that is you know
- 25:19reliable and that he feels some level of control over
- 25:22so anyway
- 25:23thank you Chris
