- 0:27So grab a hot beverage, warm up those vocal cords, and get ready to fall wildly in love with the sound of your voice.
- 0:37Let's get inspired.
- 0:40Welcome, everyone. I am so excited today to have our guest, Elisa Bogart. She is the best at what she does.
- 0:50I definitely used her in my launches and my events, and I'm so excited to share some, well, I'm not going to share her knowledge, but I'm so excited to facilitate her sharing her knowledge with you today because she is just top notch and she's a lovely person too.
- 1:06So she has her own podcast. You must check it out. Right now it's called Authentically Elisa. It may be called Other Things later in time.
- 1:14But just to tell you a little bit about her. Most launch strategists come from marketing.
- 1:18But Elisa comes from project management, and it shows. She doesn't just tell coaches what to do to launch and get visible. She builds the actual system, timeline, and accountability structure that makes it happen.
- 1:31Then she executes the back end. So she has visibility strategies that aren't theory. They're paired with hands on implementation.
- 1:39It's a rare combination of operator and strategist in one person, which is why her coaches don't just plan their launches. They finish them and I can attest to that.
- 1:49And Elisa is this beautiful blend of very compassionate and personable, also very detail oriented all the same time, which is hard to come back. So thank you so much for being here, Lisa.
- 2:02Thank you so much for having me, Danielle. I was super excited about this. I had to talk about all the back end stuff is obviously what I love so much.
- 2:11And I think that's what a lot of people are scared of. And before we even get into the details and the bits and bobs, I want to talk about this word, launch.
- 2:19Because we do a lot of launches, speakers do a lot of launches. But I think there's this misconception about what a launch is, because I think a lot of people think that they only launch once at the beginning of their business.
- 2:32So can you tell us what what is the launch, really?
- 2:36That's a good point because you do we launch our businesses, we do. And then as you know, especially, well, there's like a lot of entrepreneurs and but yeah, I mainly work with coaches.
- 2:45We launch our programs. So usually we do like a group program. And so we're putting that out into the world. And typically a group program has like a start date and end date, right?
- 2:55Like a six week program, 90 day program, whatever it may be. And so there's a lot of work that goes into getting people into that program. And that is kind of a whole launch phase.
- 3:05And there's like a lot of tech that needs to get done, a lot of operational stuff, but also a lot of visibility getting out there, filling your event, the event itself, where you sell your program, and then you have your program.
- 3:15So there's like a lot that goes into it. And yeah, so then there's all different types of launches as well, you can have depending on like the size of your program and how much it costs will tell you what type of a launch you do.
- 3:26And you know, like if it's something smaller, like under two grand, and you know, you might just do like a free masterclass or something like that. And so that could be like a two month thing that it kind of takes you to do two, three months.
- 3:38But if you're doing something big, if you have like a high ticket offer, then that could be like a six month of like planning and execution. So that's like a much bigger launch because you got to get lots of people into that three day event and a lot more planning that goes into it.
- 3:51So yeah, all different types of launches. And then we do them all the time. Like you said, it's not just one and then, like some people have several launches throughout the year, some people do monthly, like master classes.
- 4:02And so those are almost like monthly launches. So yeah, it's just continuous on and on and on.
- 4:06And I think in the old school way of thinking, we used to think, you know, you either had a launch cycle, or you did evergreen, but really, you can you can do them as a hybrid now too.
- 4:18Yeah, totally. You can launch something that's evergreen. Yeah, exactly. And then that's also as well, like that has events that's happening all the time. So yeah, yeah, yeah, evergreen is a good idea.
- 4:27I mean, sorry, combining them is a great idea.
- 4:31Hybrid. That's what I was looking for. Thank you.
- 4:33I always want the best of everything. So I'm always going to be like, yes, and yes, and all of the things.
- 4:40Yes, please. But also, I like launches because they build up excitement. And there's also the challenge with sales is you want urgency and you want scarcity and allowing for cohorts and, you know, creating this is an event that starts at a certain time and ends at a certain time.
- 4:59It creates that without it being artificial, which is quite nice. I think it puts a bit of pressure on you.
- 5:05Actually, let's talk about that right now because I've done a few event launches and they could be stressful. How do you handle the stress of a launch?
- 5:17Well, so my way of doing it being a project manager is to put a plan together and then chunk it up into reasonable bits that are doable week by week by week. And so when I work with my clients, you know, sometimes some of them want to see the whole plan and they want to know what's coming up.
- 5:31Some of them don't want to see the 250 tasks I have for them. They're like, don't never show me that again.
- 5:40And so I'm like, okay, that's fine. But I'm going to give you like 10 each week. Like, here's 10, here's another or here's 15, you know, and like this is what and that's why I kind of give them their to do list week by week by week.
- 5:49And then they did something I have someone to focus on and I give them like a little checklist. Here are the things I need you to do.
- 5:55And then that's kind of easy for them to work on because then you can just go right there. What do I have to do today? What do I have to do this week? Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop. And then, you know, you don't have to worry about everything else.
- 6:05I really like that. I actually, I mean, I do love to see the big picture. That's something that I really like too. But also just the idea that someone's just going feeding me just like to do this one thing. Just do this today.
- 6:17I like that idea a lot.
- 6:20And then it's less stressful, right? Because you're just working on it bit by bit by bit and it's not like students do things you do.
- 6:27Yeah. And I think one of the biggest I mean, so, you know, everyone that I work with is a speaker in some way, shape or form. They're speaking as part of their business and speaking is that a huge part of launching usually means a part of events, you know, we're doing webinars, we're doing 3D events, we're doing some sort of something.
- 6:45And I think one of the biggest challenges, especially for me, one of the biggest challenges was getting people to show up, not even getting people to register. That wasn't that hard.
- 6:59But getting people to show up, especially if it is a bigger one where you have to spend more time, you know, more time gathering people, reminding everyone, oh, you know, they signed up four weeks ago and you still want them to come.
- 7:10And so you have a gift for us around this. So tell us, but also give us a little bit of a teaser about what's it to get to. So we can ask the question, but also, but also, you know, get your gift.
- 7:27Yeah. Yeah. So, well, there's kind of two things that we were talking about. So one of them, yeah, like referring to my gift. So I have actually, so the gift is 30 plus strategies.
- 7:37But I'm pretty sure there's 40 now. Maybe I should update the title. It's not wrong. It's not wrong. Different visibility strategies to get people to your events and to get them to register and to get them to show up.
- 7:53But even then, like you said, getting them registered for you wasn't that difficult. But actually getting some people to remember to come and then actually show up.
- 8:05You know, we want to do things like, you know, even having like reminder emails is a great thing, but I would encourage everybody to have fun reminder emails, right? So you can do things like, you know, don't just send an email being like, hey, the events in two weeks or the events on Wednesday or whatever.
- 8:20Those are good to do as well, because you do want to remind them. But in those emails, you can start out more as like, you know, tell them your why story or give them testimonials from clients or, you know, maybe talk about the biggest mistake that you learned or the lesson that you learned and that how your event relates to that, you know, like come to the event and like, this is your problem to you.
- 8:40Or you also have this, I made that mistake, come to the event and we'll help you solve it. Or you could do like, you know, do some FOMO as to like why they can't miss out on it or, you know, just reasons why they need to tend to it or even speak to their pain.
- 8:54And again, why like your event or your program kind of solves that for them. So it's kind of more of like a value content kind of like engaging email that really motivates them to want to show up because then they're excited about it or they realize that they need this, you know, as opposed to just saying,
- 9:10it's on Wednesday, show up.
- 9:12Well, I like that because it's almost like the email nurtures, like the reminder nurture sequence. It's almost like selling them on the event over and over again, which I think is necessary because especially, you know, the webinar is one thing.
- 9:26Getting someone to come to like a 90 minute, 60 minute thing is one thing, but why not like a three day event? How do you convince people to take that much time out of their schedule?
- 9:36Like, what do you do?
- 9:41I think, yeah, you really need to like those things I just said, but also like show them because I think with a three day event, like you actually do stuff in the three day event. They're going to, they usually walk away with something.
- 9:52There's some type of transformation. There's some tools that they're taking away. They're going to be given exercises, right? So they're actually going to leave a different person. And so it's really kind of like you said, reselling that, reminding them of those things.
- 10:05But you're right, it is. And that's why with a three day event, like you almost want to start promoting it about 30 days beforehand, I would say. At least, yeah, 30, 60 days. Sometimes if you do it more than like 50, 60 days, people kind of will forget even though it's on their calendar.
- 10:21But yeah, because you want to get them early so they can actually block it off because it can be really hard to clear out three entire days from your calendar.
- 10:30And so yeah, so I just, you know, reasons why that they need to come and, and all the great stuff that they're going to get out of it right needs to be value for them like what are they getting out of it because we all know that, you know, we are going to sell in it.
- 10:43And so we're getting something out of it too. But it should be very much focused on them and what they're going to get.
- 10:49I love that. Yeah. Focus on the benefits. Give them plenty of warning and just keep loving them up. Keep selling them on it. I love that. That's awesome. That's awesome.
- 10:59What is the funnest part of doing the launch?
- 11:06Oh, for me? For you and for your class.
- 11:11They may not be the same.
- 11:13Yeah, they may not be the same because I obviously I love the planning and the organizing and like I find that like doing the strategy part at the beginning for me and then working on that like and then putting the plan together and that I find really fun.
- 11:26And also, I really like also tracking numbers as well. So like you do and I work with somebody. Well, we did it. The whole strategy session. She's a success putting the whole plan together.
- 11:35So that I really love because then I get to learn about the event to get to pull all these details out and get to put my plan together. And I just get this giant checklist.
- 11:43But then also tracking. I find fun. I mean, I like numbers. I like spreadsheets. And so, you know, looking at those numbers like as we're going along, like how are the registrations coming?
- 11:51Like how many people showed up? What was the conversion rates? Like who opened what emails? What's resonating? What do we need to send again? Like being the geek and having all that stuff I really like.
- 12:03Well, thank goodness we have a geek like you because I know a lot of people are terrified of their numbers. And I happen to know some people who just won't look at them and they'll just put the blinders on. They're like, no, no, no, no.
- 12:13So it's important to have someone like you to check their numbers and tell them what to do next. You know, I've taken a look at your numbers and you need to send a female again or, you know, whatever it is.
- 12:24And then you put that on that screen feed little list that you've got.
- 12:28Exactly. Yeah, you add it to it totally. And then also, you know, if you're someone that does regular like monthly or whatever bi-monthly master classes and things like that, you can also look at the numbers like, okay,
- 12:41you know, did people register? Did they show up? Did they stay to the end of my pitch? And like, did they buy? And so you kind of look at these things and then it's like, okay, well, a lot of people, you know, registered but didn't show up.
- 12:52So then that kind of gives you the lesson like, okay, well, maybe I need to do more of those nurture reminder emails, right? So it informs how you can tweak things because you don't want to redo anything. You want to just tweak stuff to make it better next time.
- 13:04So then when you do your next one, you'd be like, oh yeah, that was a change we made. And look at that. We got our show brand went from 20% to 30%. Amazing. Like, let's keep doing that, right? And then you rinse and repeat what works and you're always trying to improve your numbers.
- 13:18And this is part of the magic because looking at it like a long-term game like that, like, sciencing it, essentially, it's so much of a pressure off because the pressure is the scariest part.
- 13:28And I'm one of those all or nothing kind of people, I think very much in extremes. And I let all this work into it. And if it doesn't work the first time, it was a disaster and I'm never going to do it again. And you know,
- 13:43that's totally me. I'm very dramatic. So that changed shifting that and going, this is an experiment. And we're going to learn and we need to do it. We need to iterate it. That's part of the plan. This is not a one and done. This is I know I'm going to have to do this six or eight times before I have any sort of results because I need to find the data. Approaching it like that takes so much pressure off.
- 14:09Because I think a lot of us feel like, oh, I have to make sales, I have to make sales, I have to do the thing, otherwise I'm a failure. And so that must be very calming for your clients, I think.
- 14:19I think so too. Yeah, yeah. And yeah, absolutely. I think so. And they can just know that the evidence, that's just part of it and now it's okay. And one mistake that I made was that I didn't look at my numbers. It was like one year, I think I did six months where I was just doing the same. And I didn't look at my numbers and I realized that I actually never sold anything.
- 14:38I kept on doing them. People were showing up and I was doing my thing. And then I realized like, because I was getting clients, but I wasn't getting them from my masterclass. Well, that was a very important thing. I was like, so I kind of didn't really think about where my money was coming from or where my revenue was coming from, my clients. And then I was like, oh, so I get people to show up, I get people to register and show up and no one was buying. Okay, so now I got a look at my slide deck, how I'm selling it, does it flow differently, you know, and do some tweets there in order to actually make sales.
- 15:07Yeah, so that was the mistake that I did. I remember after a while I was like, I don't want to do these anymore. I don't want to look at my numbers and I backtracked and I was like, oh, maybe I should look at those a few months ago.
- 15:19We're not working anyway. So that's the mistake that you made. What's the most common mistake that you see coaches and entrepreneurs who speak this thing?
- 15:32I would say that it's the visibility piece, the promotion piece that's getting people to the event. Because like I said, there's a lot of work to do, especially if it's your first one. If it's ones that you did have done and just kind of rinse them repeating and tweaking, there's less work to do.
- 15:47But if it's kind of like that first one, there is a lot of setup. And I find a lot of coaches, like me included, are in many different programs, right?
- 15:55Our calendar is kind of full of learning and things like that. And we're in networking events and, you know, we're meeting with people and JB partners and we have sales calls and we have our own clients and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 16:06Our calendar is pretty full. And so all of a sudden you throw this launch on there and it's like, oh, right. So now I got to create my slides. I got to have coffee for all my emails.
- 16:16I got to get my landing pages created. I got to create my program if that hasn't been created or what do I want to tweak or the onboarding? There's lots of stuff to do.
- 16:24And so if you find yourself so busy week on week and you're not doing those 10 to 15 tasks, I'm smooth reading you, they start to pile up.
- 16:32And then all of a sudden before you know it, you got two weeks before your master class and you have tons of stuff to do that the visibility side of it, the promotional side of it gets deprioritized because you got to have slides at your event, right?
- 16:44Or you got to know what you're saying. And so you're going to prioritize that everything else. But if you hadn't done it, you know, a couple of weeks ago, it would have been better.
- 16:51So one thing I like to get my clients to do like at the beginning when we're like, okay, we're doing the event on this day, like when we actually decide it, I get them to block their calendar.
- 17:02I get them to be like, so for that two week period or for any of the events, I would say definitely for two weeks, block it so that nobody can just book in on your calendar.
- 17:11You know, so knowing like if you meet somebody at a networking event and maybe unless they're going to be a JV partner that you need to meet who's going to promote your event.
- 17:18But maybe you could just do that by email instead of getting them on your calendar, you know, or having random catch ups or what have you.
- 17:24Don't let those happen. Lock your calendar. Do only what you need to do. So you actually have time to go out there and promote because you got to be visible.
- 17:33You're the face of your business. You're the only one. People are coming for you, right?
- 17:37And so you want to be everywhere. You want to be at the networking events. You want to be like all those 30 plus strategies I mentioned, like you need time to implement the ones you want to implement.
- 17:46And yeah, if you're too busy doing all those other things, you just won't then then, you know, then you won't get the registrations that you want.
- 17:54And that's like heartbreaking. And then people won't maybe you may not get as people and many people as you want to into your program.
- 18:00And so, yeah, so that's one mistake I've seen is that that's kind of a procrastination and not enough time.
- 18:06And then it's crunch time. And then there's not enough time to do everything. And then it becomes stressful.
- 18:11And then, you know, you don't have the success one.
- 18:14Yeah. And these things always take longer than you think they're going to take.
- 18:17If you think it's going to take you two hours a week, put aside six hours a week. Like, seriously, these things take so much longer than you think.
- 18:25And, you know, there's nothing wrong with being prepared early. Like, yes, you don't want to be promoting too early.
- 18:31But there's nothing wrong with having your slides and things done early or your graphics done early, you know, get it done early because I always run out of time.
- 18:40And I, I know that it's going to take longer than I think it's going to take. And so I do put aside double the amount of time.
- 18:47And it's still it still takes longer. So you don't really, really put aside that time. Don't get lost in perfectionism.
- 18:56But at the same time, there are certain things that do need to be in place. And sometimes the tech takes longer or something happens.
- 19:02So so I'm hearing be prepared, block off the time, download your checklist for sure.
- 19:13And that'll be the show notes. And any advice specifically for speakers, because that's I mean, every all of this is for speakers.
- 19:22You know, we do watches and things. But any advice specifically for for those those who like to talk a lot.
- 19:30Well, I think that speaking is one of the best visibility strategies out there or the best if you will.
- 19:36And and so, yes, when you're wanting to launch something and you know when that event date is speaking is a great way to invite people to your event, especially if it's a free one or two if you're allowed to sell a free ticket to or your lead magnet that leads to the ticket to whatever.
- 19:51So you want to be out there. So if you have that's why I kind of like to say I liked it even for a free like masterclass to start planning about three months early.
- 20:03And at the beginning of that, like, there's always a couple of things that I get them to do first. One is, you know, your lead magnet, like, make sure it's the one that you want and that it flows into everything.
- 20:12Right. It's part of that funnel and it makes sense. It's the beginning of the funnel and engage with your JV partners to get on their calendar and then book your speaking gig.
- 20:20So you want to find speaking opportunities, you want to find them. So they're kind of within that promotional window, right? Like they're sort of within that month of your event happening.
- 20:29So you want to dot a lot of speaking events in there so that you're speaking all the time and everybody sees you and you're inviting them to your event.
- 20:36So yeah, as a speaker, like, you know, because even this, for example, right, like a podcast, you may think, oh, I got a bunch of a podcast. Well, that's great.
- 20:44But if it doesn't get released until or published until after your event is not going to do you any good for your event.
- 20:49Like, you know, you still might get some leads from that, but it's not going to help with your launch. So if you're in launch mode and thinking of launch strategies, book your speaking to that, it's very strategic in that right amount of time so that you can invite them to your event.
- 21:04And because those are so many great new leads, they just heard you speak. They want to know more, right? So it's perfect time to invite them. Yeah.
- 21:10And it's a wonderful way to remind them to come as well. If they're seeing you at multiple places.
- 21:16Like, oh, yeah, it's not good for that already. Fantastic. I'll be there. And then, you know, it supports that, supports that nurture. You've mentioned the word JV a couple of times.
- 21:25Can you just explain to anyone who doesn't know what a JV partner is?
- 21:28Yes, a JV partner is a joint venture partner. So someone, for example, Danielle and I are joint venture partners. So I definitely have supported her events and she's supported mine.
- 21:37And so, yeah, it's someone that you can there's lots of different ways that you can partner with people with people.
- 21:42But when it comes to a launch, some great ways is to ask them to promote your event. So you ask other people so you get visibility into their whole email list, their whole social media following.
- 21:52And they go out there. And the best part about that is that if their people know, like, and trust them already. So if they say, hey, you got to go to this event, this is pretty awesome, then they're likely to listen.
- 22:06And so they're likely to register for that event. And usually with a JV partner, if they do that for you, you say, okay, anybody that you bring to my event, if they buy my program, I'll give you a percentage of the sales.
- 22:17It's kind of like a kickback to say thank you so much for doing that. I know one of my business coaches, he, I think he said about like 75% of the people that register for his like one day event or three day events is through joint venture partners.
- 22:31He's got many of them. And he, there was one, one of his JV partners, he paid out something like $19,000 in commissions, which meant that she actually gave him like $100,000 with sales, you know, so it can it can really be amazing with JV partners.
- 22:50So, yeah, but I mean, there's also different ways to like when I like to do with my partners, if someone is promoting me, my event, I'll be like, hey, let's do a LinkedIn live together or like a social media live, you know, so on the social media live, I get exposure to their social media people.
- 23:05And we're also maybe we can stream to mine as well. And then then we just kind of talk about the topic of the event. And then I invite all the people to the event. And it's kind of like a, and that right there is another stage.
- 23:15Exactly. That's a big event. For those of us who feel really awkward writing copy, because I'm definitely one of those people like I never know what to say in this live copy. I don't know what I'm doing.
- 23:24You know, you're writing marketing copy for them to make their lives easier. I never know what to write in this live copy. So having some sort of live events is just so much easier.
- 23:34But yeah, let's get on and talk about it. And that's so much nice. What's also great about your partners is some of us don't like talking about ourselves so much. It's a little bit difficult sometimes to say come to my thing. I'm so great. This is so wonderful.
- 23:49It's a lot easier to say, this person's so amazing. Come to their thing. I love them so much. So much easier. So you build a network of, you know, obviously people, you know, like, at least tonight, we very much believe in each other's work and we work together and stuff.
- 24:03So it's very easy to promote each other because I genuinely believe what she does. I generally have worked with her. You don't want to do it for just anybody. But when you believe in someone, it's so easy to talk about them and then they believe in you and they talk about you.
- 24:17And it becomes this beautiful support thing, which feels a lot more friendly and not as again, not as much pressure.
- 24:27Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And it's a lovely way. And then you build that relationship, you know, and if it is, yeah, they, you know, supported you and brought people to your event and then you then you're going to continue working together, you know, for years on end. So it's really lovely.
- 24:40We had to build those relationships.
- 24:42And I love that you do this because I know for me and I know for a lot of my clientele, you know, and especially speakers, we tend to be very creative and kind of chaotic.
- 24:53And we love like going out there and talking and doing things, but we're not necessarily detail oriented. We're not necessarily wanting to look at the minutia.
- 25:01And so having someone like you and you are so personal and you're so lovely to have something like you can hold our hands through it is just so nice.
- 25:12Because it's scary and it's also scary to do in your home. Just having someone out there to kind of go, it's going to be okay. Let's keep this a priority.
- 25:20Just remember this. And, you know, there's there's a lot to be said just for the most supports, you know, the emotional support as well as the actual physical support that you provide because this is for a lot of us.
- 25:35This is how we sell. You know, this is how we've structured our businesses is around launches and events.
- 25:41And there's not a lot of other ways that we are selling. So, you know, it becomes it becomes integral to our businesses for sure.
- 25:51And you also have so you work one on one with folks to like really support them hardcore hand holding hardcore hand holding.
- 26:03But you also have a community. So tell us about your community.
- 26:07Yeah, so like I was just saying about that, you know, one of the mistakes that I've seen is that people won't prioritize the visibility and really kind of cast a light on it.
- 26:16And I was like, well, like, I can help people with that. Like, that's part of my launch program.
- 26:21I'm like, I have all these strategies already. And like, you know, I go through them with my clients and we pick the ones they want to do.
- 26:26And so I got kind of excited about that. And then I realized as well that, you know, I like three of those strategies is like podcasting, for example, right?
- 26:36Coming on a stage. And so I was like, oh, I have a podcast that I could give people visibility on.
- 26:40And as part of that podcast, we like do it live first. So we stream it live to all of our platforms.
- 26:46I do like a panel discussion. And then I published on my podcast two weeks later. So they kind of get double visibility.
- 26:50I was like, oh, I could just get them on my podcast. I'm like, oh, I do LinkedIn posting parties.
- 26:55That's a great way to get visibility on your social media posts. I'm like, oh, and I've been wanting to do like a monthly networking event.
- 27:02So I was like, oh, well, if I do all of these things and I give them those strategies and I can create an AI tool to teach them how to do all those strategies.
- 27:09Oh, I think I'll make a little community out of it.
- 27:12So that was kind of like my thought process of how it kind of birthed the launch visibility and the Visible Coach Network.
- 27:21And it's a way, yeah, for coaches to get more visibility so that they can fill their programs.
- 27:26And so and it's like, yeah, so I actually give them three of those strategies to do it, to find JV partners, to find stages, to network together.
- 27:33And then also they have they get taught. And like, you know, so I'm very like you're saying, like, get it done kind of person.
- 27:39And so it's not just like here are different ways you can do things.
- 27:43But I created this AI tool that literally gives them the step by step, like log into LinkedIn, click on this button, now do this, upload that.
- 27:50So there's no more because I hear that a lot, people saying, but I don't know how to do that.
- 27:55And I'm like, OK, well, now I go to a tool that teaches you how. So, yeah, so that's my network and my community that I have that this helps get visible.
- 28:03Because I want people to get people to their events so they can sell the program so they can make the impact that they want to make.
- 28:08Right. Like, that's really the whole kind of purpose of it to make this world a better place.
- 28:12And there's so many coaches that are doing that. And, you know, to get them out there more, we've got to get them more visible.
- 28:19So yeah, the support and the community is so important.
- 28:23And also you breaking it down, because even when we could figure it out, the overwhelm is so strong that sometimes you really do need someone to go here, click this, do that.
- 28:35Because it's not it's not a form of procrastination, but it's it's it can be, I think, a form of anxiety and a form of blockage.
- 28:42It's just I know that I should know how to do this, but everything is just so loud and there's so much going on.
- 28:49And, you know, so it's really great to have that broken down in that way.
- 28:53And and you have you have events you've got. I've been to your networking events are amazing.
- 28:59You have you have events you have this is going to be supposed to be airing kind of late October ish.
- 29:05And I think you have a workshop coming up.
- 29:09I do. Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:11Yeah. So I have I've been trying to sort of do them regularly.
- 29:16So by the time you listen to this, I would say check out the link anyway, because there probably will be one coming up.
- 29:20Yeah. And it's called your next event. And it's a workshop where, again, I show them three strategies.
- 29:26So I actually like demo it. So I bring up my tool and then I bring up, for example, LinkedIn.
- 29:30And we're like, OK, we're going to create a LinkedIn event. And like you see all the steps on one side.
- 29:34And then I took around and actually show them so they can do it with me.
- 29:37They could create a LinkedIn event right there and in there in the workshop or just take notes and give them the steps anyway.
- 29:44Yeah. So it's all about that. And it's all about the importance of visibility.
- 29:47And I also help them get to start creating their marketing content calendar.
- 29:51So like Ray, there's all these emails we got to send all these social media posts we got to do.
- 29:56These visibility strategies we got to implement. When are we doing them?
- 29:59So I give them a template to say, OK, like here are the different dates.
- 30:03What email are you sending? What are you doing?
- 30:04Like where are like, you know, for example, I mean, I don't know.
- 30:10I'm in a bunch of circle communities, Slack channels and Facebook groups that allow me to promote.
- 30:15And so I'm going to put my event in all those places.
- 30:17What days am I doing that? Which Facebook groups is it?
- 30:20What is it called again?
- 30:21And so just kind of brainstorming all of that and organizing it into dates and being like, OK,
- 30:27so now I know what I'm doing when which again helps raise like we were just saying in that time we're promoting.
- 30:33There's so much stuff to do.
- 30:34You've got to block off your calendar. And this is the things that you're doing like, OK, today,
- 30:37I'm going to go post in that Facebook group and promote my event in that Facebook group.
- 30:41So yeah. So the workshop is called Fill Your Next Event.
- 30:44And we go through all of that.
- 30:45So you actually leave with the calendar and some strategies that actually.
- 30:50Yes, yes, yes. Leave with tangible stuff.
- 30:54And not with all not with more overwhelm and more things to do on your to do list.
- 30:57But actually things done because that that is the magic.
- 31:01That's where the magic happens is I am sick of going to events and having.
- 31:05Oh, now I have a longer to do list than before I went to the event.
- 31:09That's great.
- 31:11Remember that, you know, we're we're growing.
- 31:14We're growing into our ambitions and you don't have to do everything all at once, you know,
- 31:18as well. And it's iterative. Remember.
- 31:22So we're going to do it. We're going to do many of these.
- 31:25And we're going to give them tweaks.
- 31:27And we're going to do a little bit better every time.
- 31:30And that's that's that's how we win long term.
- 31:34It's not. Yeah, I have to. I'm saying this.
- 31:36Yeah, exactly.
- 31:36To myself right now.
- 31:39Yeah. Do not have to do all of the strategies.
- 31:42Yeah. Like pick the ones I would say start with the ones that you like doing.
- 31:46Because if you like doing it, you might, you'll likely do it.
- 31:49You know, like if you hate Facebook and don't make Facebook one of your
- 31:53strategies because you're just going to be like, yeah,
- 31:55if I don't want to like, you know, but do the things that you like,
- 31:59or maybe you're interested in trying. And just like you said, it's iterative.
- 32:02So maybe for one month, pick three strategies and then you like those.
- 32:06So you can kind of rinse and repeat them. They work well.
- 32:09Now, maybe add another one or two, you know,
- 32:10you can learn those and add those in and see if they work. So yeah.
- 32:13Yeah. And maybe one day you throw that out and you'll place it with
- 32:15something else.
- 32:17And it's okay. Yeah, it's okay. I love this. I love this.
- 32:22I just, oh, I love everything you do. I love that you are out there
- 32:26supporting coaches and speakers and entrepreneurs because launches are
- 32:31scary and we can put a lot of effort into them.
- 32:34And if we're not supported and we don't have someone who knows what
- 32:38they're doing next to us, we can put a lot of work into it.
- 32:41We can burn ourselves out and get nothing back. So goodness for you,
- 32:46Alisa, seriously.
- 32:50Well, I'm so glad that you like, you know,
- 32:52coach speakers to actually do that too. Because that's one of the strategies.
- 32:54I'm like, get out and go speaking. It's the best way ever. And you know,
- 32:57so then, yeah, so I'm so grateful for you.
- 33:01Well, I'm talking about, you know, do the thing you enjoy.
- 33:03Like if you're a speaker, that should be your first,
- 33:05that should be your first method of sharing what you do.
- 33:09It should be speaking. If you're a speaker, that should be,
- 33:11it's the easiest thing to do.
- 33:13And all the different ways that you can speak, right?
- 33:15Yeah, so many different ways. Yeah. So do you have any final golden
- 33:21nuggets, best wishes? We're reminding everyone to please do click on the
- 33:27link, sign up for whatever workshop is coming up next.
- 33:32Get those 30 plus, maybe 40 plus tips for being visible and filling
- 33:36your, filling your event. Do you have any final like golden nuggets for us?
- 33:44Oh, I think this is kind of like, kind of what we were just saying, you know,
- 33:47like it is very stressful and it is a lot of work. So be kind to yourself,
- 33:53right? Like give yourself enough time to get the work done.
- 33:56Work on it bit by bit. Don't think you have to do everything.
- 34:01And yeah, work on it. Work with what works and throw out what doesn't.
- 34:05And then you'll have a successful launch, but yes,
- 34:08definitely being visible is a key thing. So like we already said,
- 34:11walk off your calendar. But yeah, that's what I would say.
- 34:14Like just be kind to yourself because sometimes we put so much pressure
- 34:18and give ourselves way too much to do. Then yeah,
- 34:20we end up burning out and failing and then you just feel miserable and
- 34:23want to end our businesses. It doesn't have to do that way.
- 34:28Make yourself care.
- 34:29If you're part of your launch strategy, why not?
- 34:32Because no one wants to buy from some burnt out coach.
- 34:35If you go to your home, think about it. If you do a three day event and
- 34:38you show up and you're like, uh, you know,
- 34:39you're trying to deliver your content, but you're exhausted.
- 34:42You know, they're like, yeah, you want to show up as your best self.
- 34:46And in order to do that,
- 34:47you need to exactly do the self care and do things bit by bit by bit
- 34:51and get it all done.
- 34:53Oh yay. Oh yay. Yay. Yay. Yay. Thank you so much for being here.
- 34:57This has been an absolute joy. Um, um, yeah, I will, well,
- 35:02we'll be seeing each other around. Go, uh, go to the show notes right now.
- 35:06Take all those links, sign up for Elisa's workshop. And, uh,
- 35:10thank you so much for being here.
- 35:12Thank you so much for having me. This was such a great conversation.
- 35:14I absolutely loved it. It was so much fun.
- 35:16Yay.
- 35:19Oh, isn't she just amazing? So much knowledge.
- 35:23I love how rounded Elisa is and everything and how she
- 35:29understands the, the creative chaotic experience and how scary
- 35:35something can be. Because even if you are good with numbers,
- 35:39even if you are comfortable with other people's numbers,
- 35:41you're not comfortable with your own.
- 35:43Sometimes you're really good at planning certain things,
- 35:46but not other things.
- 35:47Sometimes you do just need someone to hold your hand and say,
- 35:51everything is going to be okay. Just do this thing today.
- 35:55Everything is going to be okay.
- 35:56Just do this today and then do this tomorrow.
- 35:58And, and it, it is so important.
- 36:01Also that piece about giving yourself more time.
- 36:07And your promotion window and your planning window,
- 36:10something I heard Elisa say today that I didn't highlight at the moment
- 36:13because we were, it was so inflow.
- 36:17Your planning window can be usually three months,
- 36:22maybe six months on a bigger event, but like three months for planning.
- 36:26Maybe only a month or a few weeks for your promotion,
- 36:32but your planning and your promotion are not the same.
- 36:34And I think I only just realized right now that I tend to do my
- 36:41promotion and my planning.
- 36:42I think, oh, this is my planning window.
- 36:44But it's actually,
- 36:45that's my promotional window and I should have done the planning beforehand.
- 36:49So don't conflate planning and promotion plan first.
- 36:53Promotion is only a small part of your plan.
- 36:57Don't try and do them both at the same time.
- 36:59Plan first, then promote. Plan, strategize, create, then promote.
- 37:04Don't get stuck up in perfectionism.
- 37:06Don't get spit up in that,
- 37:08but also allow yourself enough time because,
- 37:12and Elisa and I are so, are so together on this.
- 37:16If you don't enjoy it, you won't do it.
- 37:19So find ways to make it fun.
- 37:21Find ways to fill your cup.
- 37:24Find ways to make it easier.
- 37:27Find ways to make it, you know,
- 37:29do the lower hanging foot first,
- 37:32do the fun stuff first,
- 37:33lean into the fun stuff and see how you can fill in the gaps
- 37:37because that is how you're going to make it sustainable.
- 37:39That's how you're going to do it again and again and again
- 37:42because chances are you're not going to be a success
- 37:46with the first time out.
- 37:47Chances are your first event is going to flop
- 37:49and your second and probably even your third.
- 37:53But after that, we learn and we grow and we learn
- 37:55and we grow and we tweak.
- 37:57And every time we tweak, we make changes for the better
- 37:59and we get there eventually.
