January 26 - Psalm 101 · A Chapter a Day Bible Reading

• 0:11
Hello friends, it is shown here. It is a Friday, it is the 26th
• 0:18
of January and I am here to say well done for making it to the
• 0:23
end of another week. So great that you and I can come
• 0:28
together and read a Sam. And after a week of hearing all
• 0:32
about David, it is very cool that we get to read Assam today.
• 0:37
Sam 101 And the general consensus is this is a royal
• 0:41
Sam. And it's a royal sign because
• 0:43
it's written by David the King. King David as he talks all about
• 0:48
the ways that God calls him to live.
• 0:51
This is only 8 verses long. It's a brief 1, so we will enjoy
• 0:57
each one of them and ring out every bit of goodness.
• 1:01
Holy Spirit come. May our heart sing along with
• 1:06
your servant David as we read this arm together.
• 1:11
Are you ready, friends? Yeah, me too.
• 1:15
Let's do it some 101. I will sing of your love and
• 1:30
justice. Lord, I will praise you with
• 1:33
songs. I'll be careful to live a
• 1:36
blameless life. When will you come to help me?
• 1:41
I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.
• 1:45
I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar.
• 1:49
I hate all who deal crookedly. I will have nothing to do with
• 1:54
them. I will reject perverse ideas and
• 1:59
stay away from every evil. I will not tolerate people who
• 2:04
slander their neighbours. I will not endure conceit and
• 2:09
pride. I will search for faithful
• 2:13
people to be my companions. Only those who are above
• 2:17
reproach will be allowed to serve me.
• 2:21
I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars
• 2:25
will not stay in my presence. My daily task will be to ferret
• 2:31
out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.
• 2:47
Jesus, what a wonderful sum. Because as we know this, Sam
• 2:52
tells us so much about the character of David as he serves
• 2:57
you as king. And we know that everything that
• 3:01
David does in his kingship that is upright and good is reflected
• 3:06
in you and your kingship in our life.
• 3:10
So thank you that you come to us with love and justice, and that
• 3:21
you inspire us to live lives of integrity then the things we do
• 3:29
and the people we draw close to in our lives.
• 3:32
And we see that you value faithfulness, kindness, and
• 3:38
humility. Holy Spirit, let these fruits
• 3:44
grow in US so that we truly can be the sorts of people who would
• 3:52
bring your Kingdom into a reality.
• 3:55
Ah, we love you, Jesus our King, and we praise you with every
• 4:00
breath that we draw. It's in your name, in your
• 4:05
precious name, that we pray. Amen.
