Hello, and welcome to Soul Elevation: Guiding Your Ascension to New Heights. I'm your host Kara Goodwin, and I'm really excited to be with you here today on the final day of August 2026. I wanna talk today about psychic senses and why we may feel that we don't have these. It can be really common to feel that other people have clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, claircognizance, and you don't. And what might be happening is that your expectation of what it's like to
• 1:00
connect with these types of senses is what's holding you back from being able to realize that you actually do have these senses. You may think that they function in a way that is very similar to your physical senses, and so you're looking for that type of experience, and when you're not experiencing it, you're thinking that you don't have those skills. So I want to enforce here that your, those, those psychic skills, or they're often known as clair abilities. So if you've ever heard of clairaudience, which is inner hearing, clairvoyance, inner sight, claircognizance, inner knowing. There are
• 2:00
also inner senses related to your sense of smell, your sense of taste, your sense of touch. But all of these work a little bit differently than your physical senses. So the physical senses I think of as, like, being gross. And by gross, I just mean they're, um, abundant. Like the way that you would say, like, your gross profit versus your net profit. Um, it... You're... It's just very, like, um, more obvious, right? It's more... Like, if you're gonna touch something, if... I mean, I'm sure there are people who don't have this, uh, you know, don't, don't have the sense of touch. But if your sense of touch is working, it's not hard to engage with it. You know,
• 3:00
you're engaging with it whether you mean to or not. And the same with sight. If you have visual sight, anywhere you wanna point your eyes, you can see what's there And it just is there. And so we may expect that, oh, if I'm gonna see something clairvoyantly, then it's gonna be that obvious, it's gonna be that stable. You know, if I wanna look over at the corner here, I just look at it for as long as I want to and it just stays there, and I can look away and I can look back, and it'll still be there. And with our clair skills, it is ... It can be more fleeting, especially if you're not tuned into them. Now, I'm not gonna claim that, you know, I'm gonna ... I'm gonna talk in very big brushstrokes, so I don't want to ... Um, I know that everybody's gonna have different experiences,
• 4:00
and so I'm only gonna be able to go th- by what, how I experience things. That's, um, you know, it's al- always going to be subjective, right? So there might be some people who when they turn on their, their inner sight, they can see things really s- they're very stable. They, you know, don't have to focus very hard. And, you know, yes, I'm sure that there absolutely are people out there like that, but if you're still getting to know your psychic senses, then the chances are great that, that when you, quote unquote, "see something" with your inner sight, it isn't as stable as if you're gonna look at the corner of your room and it's just there. And if you look away and look back, it's there. It's there any time you wanna look at it. You, you can really focus on it or you can just look at it in passing and it's still gonna be there.
• 5:00
With psychic senses, they are subtle. They are not gross. They are not so obvious. They're subtle, and it can take a t- an, an, a fine-tuning of your own ability to connect with them. And so if you're gonna see something clairaudient, it might be that you only see it for a fraction of a second, so quickly that you're not sure that you actually saw it, and so quickly that it will be really easy to convince yourself that you didn't see it. It also often is not gonna be right in your line of sight. So you might see something th- through your physical eyes, meaning your eyes are open, but it might be in your peripheral vision. And if you think that you see something like a spark of light-
• 6:00
You might then look directly at it and there's nothing there. But that's because the way that your physical eyes are structured with the rods and cones, s- uh, it is not unusual that the peripheral will be able to pick up on psychic sight, clairvoyance. So you may be able to see something through your peripheral vision, peripheral vision, that your direct sight will not be able to see. That is a phenomenon with people who see things regularly. They see it through out of the, the corner of their eyes and not directly ahead. So what happens with that, how to help yourself be able to tune into that, is to widen your vision, widen your aperture, so that you can look directly ahead, but you can be aware without moving your eyes, but you can start to,
• 7:00
to be more aware and start to see out of the corners of your eyes better. You can train yourself to do that just by practicing it, looking straight ahead, but then just, like again, widening that aperture where your, your vision, your visual field increases. You're more aware of what is on the peripheral, peripheral. That's always a hard word for me to say. So the other piece with clairvoyance is that it also happens with your eyes closed. Again, it can be a flash. It can be so quick and unexpected that you question if you actually saw something. It is, again, you know, we want to differentiate with your... If you're gonna, let's say you're imagining something and you're kind
• 8:00
of conjuring it up with your own will, you might be able to hold it. Like if I tell you, "Think of a dragon. Imagine a dragon." Imagine dragons. Um, that was an accident, but, um, if you think of a dragon, you might be able to hold that in your imagination for as long as you want because you can just think of it. You're kind of conjuring it. But if a, an image of a dragon flashes into your mind that's beyond your will, then it might just be, it might come and go really quickly. And again, because of that fleeting nature of it, it's really easy for the doubt to come in and say, "Oh, no, that wasn't what I thought it was." Um, we also have the
• 9:00
other senses. It's not just sight. The same happens with hearing. The way that your physical hearing works versus how you may receive information through sound is not as obvious. It can be. Again, I wanna qualify. I'm not telling you there's one way for something to happen. I actually had something before, way before my awakening, years before my spiritual awakening. I was pumping gas one time, and at a place that I didn't go to very often. And I was just, you know, lost in my thoughts and hoping that things were gonna go quickly so that I could get a move on, you know, always in a hurry. And I heard... It was like wind came by my head, and I heard, "Cara." I heard my name, and it
• 10:00
freaked me out because it came out of nowhere. It was absolutely my name, but what it felt like was that somebody came up behind me and went right up against my ear and went, "Kara." And it was so weird that I... My gas tank wasn't even full. I took it, the, the nozzle out of the car, uh, put it back. I mean, at my... I just stopped. What I- I- I couldn't, I could hardly even look behind me. Again, this wasn't a place I was really familiar with also, so, um, it just... I, I, I stopped pumping gas. I got into my car, like, as fast as I could, and then I looked around to be like, "Maybe somebody was playing a joke on me." Um, but there was nobody there. There was nobody around. And, um, that very much was, you know, I was not focusing. I was not trying to hear anything. I didn't wanna hear anything,
• 11:00
and that was very much like the way... It sounded just like the way it would sound if somebody came up to my ear and whispered my name in a very, like, uh, in a, whispered it, but in a very, like, aggressive way, I guess we could say. But I have also heard plenty of things that are not really coming from the way that you would hear things, you know, from, like, the same mechanism that the physical ears work, you know, how the physical ears work. It's more of a, let's say a voice inside the head, which I know sounds crazy. Um, voices in the head. And, and what's interesting in this day and age, um, there are interesting things about- That the use
• 12:00
of technology that is deliberately, like, implanting voices sometimes. I don't know, I haven't gone deep into that rabbit hole. But suffice it to say that if you are hearing things inside your head, don't just assume because you're, you're hearing something and it, maybe it's instructing you, that doesn't mean you have to follow it. That doesn't mean it's telling you something in your highest good. You wanna be clear about, like, there is still work to do even when you are picking up psychic, uh, information. There is still work to do in your own discernment to make sure that anything you're being told, any way that you're being advised, that you are still owning your actions, your thoughts, your beliefs, because there are different possibilities. Just because you might hear something, that doesn't necessarily mean it's your
• 13:00
higher self or it is a benevolent force. You have your own work to do to own your energy field, and to make sure that you are building up your energy so that you are more and more sovereign. You own your energy. You are in the commander, the commanding ship. So, you know, it is, it, this is just one of those, like, with, with the, um, increase of skills comes the increase of responsibility, and you need to own your own experience and be able to use your discernment. And don't, again, don't just think like, "Oh, I'm receiving information. It's from on high because I know I didn't say these things. I know I can tell that it was coming from beyond me." Just make sure that it is a loving presence, that it is working for the highest good for all,
• 14:00
and that you're not just being used as a tool. Um, other things to keep in mind with the reception of information is, again, noticing or being aware of the subtlety of it, and letting that help to increase your confidence. So as you receive things, try to catch yourself from just dismissing it There are, again, there are lots of different ways that you might receive it and receive information and intuitive hits, and one of them may just be through impressions. I call it, I call it, like, a, an impression. So I lead a telepathic group where, um, for a few months now, well, couple months anyway,
• 15:00
three months maybe, we've gotten together regularly, and we are focusing on a single target. So it's a group, and we have one or more people who are sending what the target is, and then the rest of the group is receiving. And the way that we do this is we get into a meditative state, and we draw or write any impressions that we get. And through this exercise, it's been really interesting because You, because we've been able to, a- as individuals, refine how we receive information. It gives us that, that quiet and that, um, experience, you know, being able to say, "Okay, well, what, what am I perceiving for these few minutes as I know that there is something in the field for me to perceive? How do I
• 16:00
perceive it?" And this is something that we've talked about as a group over time because we end up with these drawings and we're like, "Well, I got a triangle. I got a flower petal. I got, uh, you know, some waves." And the question has come up a few times with people like, how do you receive this? What is it like for you right before you draw the waves? What are you actually experiencing? And so for some people they see it. They have their eyes closed. We actually, some of us use eye masks so it's like totally black. And some people literally see in their mind like a dream. You know, like the same way that you might see things in the dream state, they will see whatever it is that they draw. And for some people they
• 17:00
will hear it. They will just hear like a, a letter or a word or something, so they will write that down. For some people it is more of an impression. So they don't necessarily see it, they don't hear it, but they just have this, this impression. And so that might be that they're, that the idea comes to them. You know, it may feel the same way that an i- idea feels. And or they just, um, yeah, that's the best way I can, I can say it. It's just, it's very, again, it's very subtle. And so- That's... And it can be different things at different times. So one person may sometimes hear a letter and be zeroing in, like, "Okay, maybe I just ha- that's the part of this fragment of a wh- larger
• 18:00
whole that I have right now is the letter F," for example. And so that, like, helps to steer their thoughts. And sometimes it's not right. Sometimes, you know, sometimes it's like, "Well, I got... Then I was stuck on F, so anything that came in, I was trying to think of any ideas or thoughts that came in, I was trying to associate with F and see if they related." Um, but it may be also that one person will have, um, something that they see at one point, and then as time, you know, as the exercise goes on, it can change. They might suddenly get more of an impression, and it can just keep moving. And as, m- my experience is, as one sort of sense opens up, other ones are also opening up. So I try not to pigeonhole things to say, "Oh, if it's,
• 19:00
if it's real insight, I'm gonna see it," or, "If it's real insight, I'm going to have this physical response to it." It's a lot of things working together. And what I believe, I hypothesize that everybody has these gifts and these skills, but they just don't know how to perceive them. And again, the way that I started this conversation was expectation. We may have the expectation that these subtle psychic skills work the same, the exact same mechanism as the physical skills. And if I'm gonna see an angel, for example, if there is an angel in my presence, I'm going to see them with my physical eyes right in front of me. Otherwise, it's not, it's not there. You know, that's that very black and white. And it may just be that you can't shake the idea of an angel, but you don't see anything and you don't hear
• 20:00
anything. But you've got this presence, you've got a feeling, you've got an idea that you, that, you know, you can't shake. So those expectations, I just encourage you to, to broaden your Your experience, broaden your expectation of how your senses work. And notice also how your own physical senses work, because I was listening to something last week that was talking about how somebody was saying that their sight was, um... They see things in pixels, and they were explaining that they see things, but they... It's not, like, solid. It's a whole bunch of pixels that all mesh together. And if you've... You may have heard me talk about this. I've, I've talked about
• 21:00
this pretty regularly. I think that... I mean, I see that way, too, so I just assume that everybody sees that way, and I challenge people who say that they don't to look at a blank wall or close your eyes. And when you look at a blank wall, do you only see the color of paint that's on that wall? So I'm looking at a grayish beige wall in front of me, and if I just look at it kind of without awareness, yeah, I can see it's a grayish, grayish beige. But if I look at it and really zero in on what I'm looking at, then I can see that there are... It's speckles of color, and they're moving, and it's also like the color is between the wall and me. I can see that there's a wall there, but there's all this color in
• 22:00
between me and the wall, and it's multicolored, and it's, like, tiny, tiny, tiny dots, and they're dancing To me, that's really normal because that's how I see. But I don't often notice that that's how I see, because I'm usually just using my sight for, like, general purposes. And so I'm not looking with my full awareness. I'm just kind of taking things at face value. But when I stop taking things at face value and I look at it more deeply, I notice what I'm actually seeing. And so that is me seeing with my physical eyes, but the energy, I'm, I'm seeing energy, and it's right there. Any time I wanna see it, it's right there. If I look at a sky-- at the sky, if I'm gonna focus and really zero in on it, I'm seeing all of these, um, pinpoints of light that are just constantly flashing. They're...
• 23:00
It depends on the circumstance. I was at a, a sound bath last night looking at the sky and, oh my gosh, it was so much activity, so many points of light that are just flashing. Flashing, flashing, flashing. Tiny, and a zillion of them. Sometimes I will look and I can kind of tune in, but there are fewer of them. Um, again, because I'm just looking at it with my physical sight, I'm like, "Everybody sees this way, but they just don't notice." And, and again, like, I can't say what everybody sees. I could be wrong. Um, but I feel that probably it's the same for you, but maybe you haven't looked at it in that way. And you can use that same experience for all of your senses, where it's like the gross, the surface, the what you... Is what's easily acceptable and easily accessed. That's what I mean to say. Easily accessed on the surface is the
• 24:00
every day. But at any given point, you can calm yourself, you can strengthen your focus, and you can really zero in on it, and you will find these layers of the senses. And it's within these layers that then the psychic abilities are in there. Okay? It's fun. I hope you will explore for yourself and tune in to the super senses that are within you and accessible within you So I'm really, uh, it's such a joy to be here with you. I just launched something yesterday that I'm super excited about, and I'll put a link in the notes, but it is the Mindful Surgery Collection. I've been creating, or I'm in the process, the slow process of creating these collections. I have the Pregnancy Collection, the Mindful Pregnancy Collection that I launched about a month ago, maybe a little bit longer ago than that, and then
• 25:00
now I've just launched, launched the Mindful Surgery Collection. This is a great resource for anybody that you know who is going through a surgery journey. There is pre-surgery, um, post-surgery, dai- short daily meditation, and then something, a s- meditation for actual surgery. Um, also affirmations, and the musical accompaniment is at 432 hertz. It's been designed... The music has been, um, created by Michelle Qureshi, who is an extremely talented, award-winning, multi, you know, international and multidimensional, um, artist, and she's just amazing. So the, the music is lovingly infused. These, this collection is infused with prayers and the

highest, um, the highest intentions for those who are going through this surgery journey. So it's very powerful, potent, very, very reasonably priced, uh, very affordable. I didn't wanna out- uh, put the, put it beyond anybody's reach. So it's very affordable, and, um, I hope that you will check it out and utilize it for yourself or anybody you know who's on the, on the surgery journey. And be on the lookout for more of these, more, more life events that, um, that I'm working on and creating for, for being able to support you through your life. So thank you so much for being here. Bless you, and I'll see you next time. Speaker 2: Thank you so much for joining me for this episode of Soul Elevation. If someone in your life would be inspired or uplifted by what you heard today,
