- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, what simple, simple, simple hello? Yeah, what a hello? Yeah?
- 0:04Speaker 1: What very innovative radio feature. But it only works if
- 0:07Speaker 1: you call us. Because you call us and you make
- 0:10Speaker 1: a statement, you make an observation, you ask us a question,
- 0:13Speaker 1: whatever you'd like to do. This is your time to
- 0:17Speaker 1: be on the radio, to avail yourself of this vast
- 0:20Speaker 1: listening audience. Maybe you know where Gina is. Hell yeah,
- 0:25Speaker 1: maybe you're going to make a ransom to me. We'll
- 0:28Speaker 1: take lok. So yeah, I'm here for Gina and we
- 0:31Speaker 1: you know, we don't really know what's happened. Somebody named
- 0:35Speaker 1: Boots on the phone. Boots, Well wait a minute, So
- 0:41Speaker 1: what are the what are the ransom demands? What are
- 0:44Speaker 1: the ransom demands? I've been speculating you've been kidnapped.
- 0:48Speaker 2: That would be uh preferable, I.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Think, Gina, what what have Why? What's going on?
- 0:55Speaker 2: So during the show yesterday I got a text from
- 1:01Speaker 2: Daddy Gary and we were supposed to do some things
- 1:06Speaker 2: after we got off the air, and I'm like, oh no, sorry, guys,
- 1:09Speaker 2: I have to leave right when the show gets over
- 1:12Speaker 2: because Daddy Gary said that my mom, the Saint Mary Claire,
- 1:16Speaker 2: has fallen down the stairs and they're at the er.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Oh no, I will be right there. So I go
- 1:26Speaker 2: up to LDS Hospital where they're er. They're just always fantastic.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I went there for my gallbladder not that long ago,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and go in the room and my mom's in the
- 1:37Speaker 2: bed and the doctor said, you know, we've given her
- 1:43Speaker 2: x rays and nothing's broken. She's got a bruise tailbone
- 1:46Speaker 2: and a concussion. And I'm like, what happened? And she said, well, Daddy,
- 1:52Speaker 2: Gary and I have decided to do a morning walk
- 1:55Speaker 2: every day. And I bought some brand new shoes, those
- 1:58Speaker 2: hookahs over there on the that you told me to get.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And I said, oh, yeah, I love those shoes. Those
- 2:04Speaker 2: are great shoes. I wear them every day. She said, well,
- 2:06Speaker 2: they were brand new and I put them on at
- 2:08Speaker 2: the top of the stairs and I think maybe they
- 2:11Speaker 2: were slicked on the bottom or something. And yeah. And
- 2:18Speaker 2: she has pretty steep stairs in her house and it's
- 2:21Speaker 2: an older house and the stairs are really narrow, and
- 2:23Speaker 2: I actually worry about her falling down there all the time.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And now she did it. Now nothing broken, she sore.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Oh Mom, I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And what with you? Why aren't you here?
- 2:37Speaker 2: They discharged her, and Daddy Gary said, well, I need
- 2:41Speaker 2: to run some errands and go to the store. He said,
- 2:44Speaker 2: will you go and sit with your mom at home
- 2:47Speaker 2: while I while I do all that? And I said sure,
- 2:49Speaker 2: I just need to run home and and take care
- 2:52Speaker 2: of the dogs before I come over. Great. So I
- 2:57Speaker 2: run home in my hokahs and I'm running around the
- 3:00Speaker 2: house and doing something and getting ready to go to
- 3:03Speaker 2: my mom's. And I don't normally wear my shoes in
- 3:07Speaker 2: the house, but I leave them on because I'm not
- 3:09Speaker 2: going to be there that long, okay. And I run
- 3:11Speaker 2: upstairs and I proceed to fall down the stairs. This
- 3:18Speaker 2: is not my own house.
- 3:20Speaker 1: You're making this up.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I am. I swear to God.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You got your mother home and she pushed you down
- 3:25Speaker 1: her stairs, didn't She didn't.
- 3:27Speaker 2: She and I could tell immediately something was broken and
- 3:35Speaker 2: no one was home. My kids weren't home. So I
- 3:41Speaker 2: crawled over to the couch and I called Mohammed and
- 3:44Speaker 2: I said.
- 3:45Speaker 1: The prophet, you're.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Not my son, not the prophet. The prophet might have help,
- 3:54Speaker 2: and he said I'll be right there.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And he came home and fell down the stairs. There
- 4:01Speaker 1: was a pile of body's bodies at the bottom of
- 4:04Speaker 1: the stairs.
- 4:05Speaker 2: He came home and took me to instacare and I
- 4:10Speaker 2: broke two bones in my foot.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Oh my god, this is the worst Hoka commercial ever.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I still love these shoes, but by god, don't wear
- 4:21Speaker 2: them in the house. So I am in a boot
- 4:25Speaker 2: up to my knee and crutches. No, I can't put
- 4:29Speaker 2: any weight on it for a week.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Bill's been there and done that.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yeah, well, and to that point, Bill, for weeks and
- 4:40Speaker 2: weeks I drove you to work.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Oh, it wasn't that long. It was just weeks. It
- 4:46Speaker 1: wasn't weeks and weeks. It was just weeks because.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It was your right foot that was in a boot
- 4:52Speaker 2: and you shouldn't dry. And well, my right foot is
- 4:56Speaker 2: in a boot and it's too bad.
- 5:00Speaker 1: That's really your change. What are you going to do?
- 5:04Speaker 1: How are you going to get to work? What do
- 5:06Speaker 1: you what are you going to how are you going
- 5:08Speaker 1: to get to work? Huh what?
- 5:11Speaker 2: I'm hoping you'll return the saver.
- 5:15Speaker 1: That boy, oh boy, return the favor.
- 5:18Speaker 3: We will have to talk about this off the yello.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Yeah what all right? Well, don't sorry? Hello? Yeah, what
- 5:26Speaker 1: it's supposed to be? Hello? Yeah?
- 5:27Speaker 2: What?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah? It's supposed to be this Hello, Yeah, what we
- 5:31Speaker 1: have a hello? Yeah? What online? One? Stacy is here? Hi, Stacy, Hey, Hello, yeah,
- 5:38Speaker 1: what what do you got for? Well?
- 5:41Speaker 4: First of all, do you know I'm so sorry that
- 5:43Speaker 4: that happened to you.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Thanks suck.
- 5:50Speaker 4: But I was listening to you guys yesterday morning and
- 5:52Speaker 4: you were you brought up the pit again, and I know,
- 5:56Speaker 4: and you've brought that show up a few times. I
- 6:00Speaker 4: worked in an ICU during COVID and I've been at
- 6:04Speaker 4: the bedside in health care for thirty years, and I
- 6:08Speaker 4: just want to reiterate that it was horrible and really hard,
- 6:12Speaker 4: and I think anyone who was on the front lines
- 6:15Speaker 4: probably has some degree of some PTSD.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Probably.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I I lost a retired co worker who had.
- 6:26Speaker 4: So much been a bigger I would can say Pitts
- 6:30Speaker 4: and vinegar, but bigger. Back in the day, you wouldn't
- 6:37Speaker 4: think anything could bring her down. But in the end,
- 6:39Speaker 4: her husband curled up next to her in the hospital
- 6:41Speaker 4: bed and we took the oxygen off and she passed
- 6:44Speaker 4: away within a few minutes.
- 6:48Speaker 1: To tell us that I know I did.
- 6:51Speaker 4: It's just one of the stories that I want people
- 6:54Speaker 4: to really understand that it's hard on people.
- 6:57Speaker 1: It's pretty I understand that that show is quite accurate.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Well, I was gonna I was gonna ask Stacey, did
- 7:02Speaker 3: that is that show pretty close to.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:07Speaker 4: I feel like it put forward some good like p
- 7:10Speaker 4: s A tips, you know, some public service announcements like
- 7:15Speaker 4: how far to take life saving measures with the elderly.
- 7:18Speaker 4: You know, just because you can do something doesn't mean
- 7:21Speaker 4: you should. H A lot of times you're doing it
- 7:25Speaker 4: for the family, and I guess that's up to them,
- 7:28Speaker 4: but I don't think it's in the end it's going
- 7:30Speaker 4: to make the you know, their loved ones life any better.
- 7:33Speaker 1: That was so it was really sad that. Yeah, the
- 7:36Speaker 1: the the guy who had worked on the Mister Rogers
- 7:39Speaker 1: show for years and years and years, and they they
- 7:42Speaker 1: just didn't want to let him go. And but they,
- 7:45Speaker 1: you know, they do make they do manage to fit
- 7:49Speaker 1: in these little moral lessons as they go along.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I just yeah, I just we were watching it again
- 7:54Speaker 3: yesterday and you know, we're up on our five or
- 7:58Speaker 3: six or something like that.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Where is the show available? It's on HBO. Thanks for calling, Stacey.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Can I say one working to Gina.
- 8:10Speaker 1: As long as it doesn't say, piss in it.
- 8:14Speaker 4: But just so you know, everybody that drinks water dies.
- 8:22Speaker 1: What what is that supposed to mean? What is that
- 8:26Speaker 1: supposed to mean?
- 8:27Speaker 2: Oh wait, she's saying it to me that I don't
- 8:29Speaker 2: drink water because it doesn't keep you from dying. I
- 8:32Speaker 2: get it. I can have diet coke. That's what Stacy's saying.
- 8:34Speaker 4: She's want.
- 8:38Speaker 1: All about bourbon station, Stacy, can I have all the
- 8:43Speaker 1: bourbon I want?
- 8:45Speaker 2: I don't know about that. Your liver might not like it?
- 8:48Speaker 1: All right? Hello, yeah, what you can call.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I think that people are off, you know, they're they're
- 8:58Speaker 3: taking their vacations there taking advantage of this.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I think they're thinking about how true Gina's story really is.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I still maintain your mother pushed you down the stairs.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So do we need to.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Do?
- 9:12Speaker 5: We need to figure out tomorrow's plan then Gina, Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 5: she's gone for a week.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Well we need somebody, somebody else to fill in tomorrow
- 9:21Speaker 1: or tomorrow, Yeah, and then Monday. We'll see Monday. We
- 9:26Speaker 1: may not know.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Monday. I can harass somebody into picking me up.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I can pick you up. It's not a problem. It's
- 9:34Speaker 1: I live close to your house and I can pick
- 9:36Speaker 1: you up.
- 9:37Speaker 2: It's kind of a problem.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Why is it a problem? It just I just have
- 9:42Speaker 1: to leave ten minutes earlier than I normally would. That's
- 9:46Speaker 1: not a big deal, is it.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Oh?
- 9:49Speaker 1: What you're telling me? What you're telling me, It was
- 9:52Speaker 1: this huge deal when you did it for me, it
- 9:56Speaker 1: was a big deal.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I had to cut important things out of my morning
- 10:01Speaker 2: routine to make time for it.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You couldn't stand doing it.
- 10:05Speaker 2: There were there were there were facial serum steps that
- 10:08Speaker 2: were skipped because I didn't.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And don't think we didn't notice.
- 10:13Speaker 5: So, Gina, I have to ask this since since you
- 10:16Speaker 5: were just visiting your mother in the hospital, who hurt
- 10:19Speaker 5: herself from falling downstairs? When when when your fall began
- 10:24Speaker 5: in your own home, when you immediately realized, oh god,
- 10:27Speaker 5: I'm going down the steps?
- 10:30Speaker 1: When did you realize this is so ironic? When? When
- 10:33Speaker 1: did when did the when our humor you? When did
- 10:36Speaker 1: the thought hit you? I am my mother?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yes, it was hilarious, instantly, instantly you laughed through the pain. Yea,
- 10:50Speaker 2: this is perfect.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Let's take a final what Tim the tree guy is here? Hey, Tim,
- 10:57Speaker 1: good morning, good morning. I have a I have a theory,
- 11:00Speaker 1: and I'm sure she's scared to tell us, but I
- 11:03Speaker 1: think Daddy Gary and Joe got together and decided to
- 11:06Speaker 1: push their wives down the stairs. You can take care
- 11:11Speaker 1: of both of them tonight on Dateline. Let's off, Let's
- 11:14Speaker 1: off these women. Thanks, thank you, m thanks. Have a
- 11:23Speaker 1: good day. That grim twist on things all right? Uh listen,
- 11:28Speaker 1: keep us updated, like what the orthopedis says and what
- 11:33Speaker 1: what needs to happen here
