- 0:00Hello everyone , and welcome to another episode of Spy Trader !
- 0:04I’m your host , Penny Profit , and I am so glad you’re tuning in to navigate the markets with me .
- 0:10It’s 2:30 pm on Monday , July 27th , 2026 , here on the Pacific Coast .
- 0:18We’ve got a lot to cover today as we sit in what analysts are calling the normalization phase of this market cycle .
- 0:25We are moving past the wild AI hype of the last two years and entering the era of earnings quality , where we look at what these technologies are actually doing for the bottom line .
- 0:36The S&P 500 , which many of you track through the SPY ETF , is showing some real grit , trading near alltime highs even as the labor market cools off a bit .
- 0:48The big news on everyone’s mind is the Federal Open Market Committee meeting starting tomorrow .
- 0:54After several rate cuts , our interest rates are sitting at a neutral three point two five percent .
- 1:00With inflation at a steady two point one percent , it looks like the Fed has really stuck the landing .
- 1:07Even the slight rise in unemployment to four point three percent is being seen as a good sign because it keeps wagepush inflation at bay .
- 1:16In the world of technology , things are shifting from hype to utility .
- 1:21Microsoft just reported that its Copilot 4.0 ecosystem is now driving twentyfive percent of its enterprise revenue , which is a massive milestone for tangible AI contributions .
- 1:33While Nvidia remains the king of the mountain , investors are now looking beyond just chip sales and focusing on the replacement cycles for their new Blackwell and Rubin architectures .
- 1:43If you look at the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund , or XLF , it’s been the secondbest performer this month .
- 1:52Big names like JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs are seeing a huge comeback in IPOs and mergers as companies feel more confident about borrowing and growing in this stable rate environment .
- 2:04Over in Real Estate , the Vanguard Real Estate ETF , known as VNQ , is finally catching a break .
- 2:12Data center REITs like Equinix are doing especially well because they provide the physical homes for the AI revolution .
- 2:20We also saw some big moves from individual companies today .
- 2:24Tesla announced a major breakthrough with regulatory approval for its Level 5 Full SelfDriving system in three European countries , which has the stock moving .
- 2:34Meanwhile , Apple is trading a bit sideways as everyone waits for the iPhone 18 and its rumored neurallink interfaces .
- 2:42If you’re looking for where to put your money , I have a few thoughts .
- 2:45First , for core growth , the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF , or VOO , is a great choice .
- 2:53It’s basically the same as SPY but with a lower expense ratio , making it perfect for longterm holders in this two percent inflation environment .
- 3:02If you want to stay heavy on tech , consider the Invesco QQQ Trust or even direct shares of Nvidia .
- 3:10These have become defensive plays in a way because their tech is now a necessity for most businesses .
- 3:17For those looking for income , the iShares twentyplus Year Treasury Bond ETF , or TLT , is looking attractive as yields peak , offering a nice safety net if the economy cools too much .
- 3:29Finally , don’t ignore real estate .
- 3:32The VNQ ETF offers a solid four percent dividend and is ready to catch up to the rest of the market now that high interest rates are behind us .
- 3:41Overall , I’m feeling moderately bullish .
- 3:45The AI bubble fears of 2024 have been replaced by the AI integration reality of 2026 .
- 3:53Stick with highquality earnings , keep a core position in VOO , and use bonds like TLT to keep things balanced .
- 4:01Thanks for listening to Spy Trader , and I’ll see you next time !
