- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Three Yards Perkati, a podcast covering the Miami Dolphins and the NFL.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's your host, Chris, Alf, and Simon.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, you guys see it is a common.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_04]: I think it said the set recording started there's the the red line there there's the red light Yes, this is three yards per carry.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_04]: I'm afraid right Tiaga Chris Kaufman is here with me Simon Cleans is not here with me because he's doing something much much better.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's in Rome That's a lot better.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, although I think he's ignoring me because I told him send food picks and I don't know if he thought that I was joking or something about that
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think you thought you were joking.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: He thinks I was joking.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think he's not into the whole food porn thing.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: I guess.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_04]: But my God, you're wrong.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_04]: That's the capital of the food porn, isn't it?
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_04]: Either they're a Japan.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like, okay, let's start with the play.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_04]: Let's start to show there.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_04]: What are the capitals of food porn?
- 1:15[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously Rome and Japan are one number one and number two, right?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_04]: Madrid's in the top five.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, are we talking about are we talking about like city?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: We talk about countries of what pretty food pretty food pretty food pretty food pretty and good you have you have Madrid You have Madrid over Barcelona Barcelona's too to moderate to moderate.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_04]: It's like cleaner Miami
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think the food, I think the food in Barcelona is just ridiculous.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Rome has to be a good one, but I've also, I've eaten in Florence, and that was pretty phenomenal too, so there's probably just a lot of places in Italy.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, so we'll start with one of the best food cities in the US.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one of the older ones, I was,
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think this is just because it was my first experience with, you know, it's so young with a really good food town, but like DC was a food town before a lot of other places became a food town.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and I thought I was appreciated that, you know, because now Tampa has come up quite a bit that way, but DC, I think, for sure, New York,
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: but not Japan virtually, everything I didn't get there, yeah.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_04]: I'll give you a city in the United States.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_04]: That's extremely, because I'm trying to think of the city.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_04]: I'm trying to look at the city.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_04]: It's in Mississippi.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_04]: Blocsy?
- 3:04[SPEAKER_04]: No, not Biloxy, Biloxy's too commercial.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'm trying to look at the name.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_04]: I forgot the name and I'm looking at a map now to find Meridian, Meridian, Mississippi.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: I've been through it.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_04]: There's basically no food, no bad food in the entire city.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_04]: And if you like that kind of thing, if you like Southern food, like old food, you know.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: Of course you live in Miami, so, you know, that's what's going to be said there.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, man, he's very diverse, like you get pretty much anything here, you know, so yeah, pretty damn good food.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: Best injuries though.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there was a, there was a thing that went around and it broke down like it broke down like from a center point like the entire globe and to like ABCD F, you know, whatever.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: And, and there's one that had like.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: My entire Uber Eats backlog or order log is in there.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: I had everything from Southeast Asia to Japan, and even Turkish food and Middle Eastern food, and just basically everything.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: And it's kind of amazing that there's like one little sliver where I eat almost exclusively from.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_04]: Um, Costa Rica.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Peru's, Peru's food is awesome.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_04]: Haven't been a big salty pop of scouting, Guy.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Costa Rica really, really good.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_04]: Now, the thing about Costa Rica is how organic everything is.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: Like, if you look at a chicken in Costa Rica, they look weird.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_04]: They look like pigeons and you're like, what's wrong with your chickens?
- 4:48[SPEAKER_04]: And if you go way around, it's what's wrong with our chickens.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: If I had a nickel, if I had a nickel for every time, I looked at a chicken in Costa Rica.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: You look at a chicken and Costa Rica and you're like, what in the fuck is that thing?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_04]: And then you're like, you know what, it probably tastes a lot better than our chickens because they're not pumped up with all kinds of steroids and whatnot to fatten them up.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_04]: And sure not, they do taste great.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_04]: So just pork.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_04]: Like the animals in Costa Rica, they look normal.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_04]: They don't look like American animals.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like there could be an epic tail about the
- 5:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the great, the great pig of Costa Rica.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_04]: That's lean.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_04]: Very lean.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_04]: But I know why our pigs are fat in the United States, right?
- 5:39[SPEAKER_04]: They make them fatty to produce more bacon, more large, right?
- 5:45[SPEAKER_04]: If you're growing them in your backyard, if you're growing them in a farm, you don't care about most of those things.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_04]: You care about eating them when they're ready to go and in Costa Rica, that's pretty much what they do.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_04]: They don't, you know.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_04]: They don't, they don't mass produce their animals, let's just say that.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, the first.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: Last, last bit on the food thing, I will say that I just went to a new place that opened up here that ended up being a lot higher class than I thought.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: But it, uh, it is, it is Italian Japanese.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and it was, I mean, it was, it was, it was, it was not you, outfit.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it was, it was pretty, it was pretty incredible, but they say like Italian with Japanese sensibilities or something like that.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's, there's, there's actually reminded me of like, remember like the old iron chef.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like the iron, remember there was like an iron chef Italian, you know.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's basically that we went to we went to we went to we went to Morimoto's and And Vegas together and it was great that place is great, right?
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: It was a really really nice place.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's yeah, you know my own show Yeah, there's a place down here called Amazonia and there are Brazil Asian Fusion So that should be pretty good Nice.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_04]: Anyways, let's get on with the show
- 7:18[SPEAKER_04]: You have 800 pain, okay?
- 7:22[SPEAKER_04]: Let me see, why is that not coming up?
- 7:26[SPEAKER_04]: And there are three or five, 800 pain.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_04]: Just like the dolphins, they inflict a lot of pain.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: After an accident, your first move should be to call 305-800-PANE that a business bureau accredited with an A-plus writing, your car accident, personal injury specialist, basket actions with trusted doctors, and attorneys, always ready to take your call 24-7, again, 305-800-PANE, 305-800-PANE.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_04]: And just as a side, Govi, who is the official lighting sponsor of the Miami Dolphins, has
- 8:03[SPEAKER_04]: of tickets for Raven's Dolphins on the 30th.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_04]: That's a Thursday night football game, and we will be giving them away exclusively on our Discord only friends.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_04]: And if you want to become a member of our Discord only friends, you can go right there right under my name.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_04]: You see it right there discord dot GG forward slash only friends.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_04]: You become a member there all access for 499 a month.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_04]: Do it on the desktop to avoid the Apple upcharges.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_04]: Alright Chris, I said something, I don't think it was kind of profound, it was kind of click baby-ish on Discord.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_04]: I said the real dumpster fire or get-right game is actually this week and not last week.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_04]: I think personally, I thought that we, you called it a trap game, absolutely.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: We have absolute god awful guards and we went up against maybe a top five defensive tackle pairing.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_04]: And that completely short circuited our entire run game made a huge difference.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: Because they had no no business stopping our run game based on based on what they were doing.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think, you know, from a personnel standpoint and and the way that they were playing, I don't think they had any business stopping our run game.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: And they did, and of course
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: all of the commitment of, you know, of Elizabeth Taylor when it comes to the run game.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: So, um, you know, yeah, they had no business stopping it.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: So it truly was one of those things.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, you know, um, they were able to do a lot with a little.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_04]: And if you flip the script and you move on to the chargers this week, the defense of
- 10:01[SPEAKER_04]: They're actually two very familiar faces, it's the shunhand and to your tart.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_04]: very familiar phrases to former by the way tear-tart and okay PFF I hear you okay I know you like some of our players like you love Patrick Paul like he's he's your bay but tear-tart being the best defensive interior defensive alignment in all the football okay that's good okay if you're grading him as and they do that he is
- 10:33[SPEAKER_04]: the number one interior defensive line in all the football.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_04]: So tear charts should absolutely destroy us on something.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: But here's the thing, like when when when when when when when when he was even before he took anything with us, right, um, preseason, whatever, um, that guy, he doesn't have, he doesn't have a good motor.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: So that's that's one thing, uh, don't expect him to chase and chase plays around, um,
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: Then again, we don't have a guy who will force you to chase people around.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: And in terms of the quarterback, um, so he doesn't have a good motor.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, and I think that that was the thing that really fit or did not fit in my army.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise, why did you cut him?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: He ends up like the top defensive tackle.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: The next year in how is that not an X, I mean, listen, we, we both kind of take the PFF thing when the grain is also past.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but how is that not an extraordinarily embarrassing thing?
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: to have happened to you, that you brought him to camp along with a bunch of other dudes.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: And now, what are we struggling with this game?
- 11:46[SPEAKER_04]: And I go, I go a step further.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_04]: We talked about this and you took the other side on this.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_04]: So, I'm not really calling you out on this, but, you know, it's, you know, I guess you took the opposite side of it, but I was more like, you know, the comfortable shoe.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_04]: Why wouldn't you bring back the shunhand and just throw them into your rotation and you know that that's a guy That was amazing.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah sure enough right and what was it over five hundred thousand dollars maybe if that right it's barely nothing so
- 12:21[SPEAKER_04]: Personally, I want to say, yeah, you know what, just bring that guy back and, you know, for a rainy day, it's kind of like, like when you're making a Chicutri board and you know that there's a cheddar that you really, really like, are you just gonna walk into Aldi's and say, you know what, that weird ass cheddar right there?
- 12:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna replace the cheddar, I really like what that one.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_04]: And then you serve it and you're like, this is not good.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I made a mistake here.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I think that they made the mistake on their Tacutri board on the interior deepens of line by by, you know, you can bypass Benito Jones.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_04]: It's okay.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_04]: You know, don't offer Benito the contract offered to dish on hand.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: That I get like that, that I, you know, and I would have approved that because I didn't necessarily for bringing Benito back.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I think that between the two of them.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: To me, like Dishon Hand was just kind of kind of just a guy in our system, and I wanted to do better than that, obviously we haven't because the young players, the young players haven't come along yet, and so that's one thing.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we're missing him now.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: We could appreciate having not extra body right now.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm sure that Dishon hand could be taking seek bigger spot on the roster and but actually playing so that we don't have to rely so much on a two on two rookies and I don't I don't dislike Jordan Phillips.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people get like, you know, they're they're back up when you say that the two rookies are have them mistakes because Jordan
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: But they're rookies, and they're doing their own things a lot of time.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: And so you wouldn't have to rely on that.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: You could let them come along and background instead of in the foreground.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: And it's unfortunate, we're not there yet.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: But it's still really, it's more curious to me about TearTart to me.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: Because they cut him, I mean, they didn't even keep him last year.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: Dishon Ham played last year, right?
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: And they're just like, no, we don't think you're good.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: We don't think you fit.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, never galamore went out playing and went out and played somewhere else, too, but that's a little bit.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: to be the number one defensive, you know, greater defensive tackle on on PFF after that.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's to me, that's a little bit of a shame that shades of advantage.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_04]: It also didn't help that level galimore when a national television had a two and a half sack force fumble gain.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_04]: didn't knock it all in it.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_04]: No, it did not help, you know, and, you know, you know, you know, with Neville Gallimer was going to give you, right?
- 15:06[SPEAKER_04]: But it wasn't good enough.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, okay, he's not going to be stout as a three tech or as a one shade.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_04]: Like, he's not going to do that.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_04]: That's not what he does.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to rush the passer as a three tech as a five tech.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_04]: That's what he's going to do.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_04]: And that's sure what I helped a little bit last year.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it could help this year.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: Anything would help this year.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think just to have to rely a little bit less on those rookies.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_04]: But here's where I'm going with all this because we're talking about when the dolphins have the football.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_04]: They're facing a defense that if you look at that roster, it's getting better.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_04]: they got your boyfriend from the ravens who was kind of quite the start his career has come on had a big season last year quite again this year and maybe that's why they traded them he's asking for money I believe and that's why he's the former the former formerly Jason O.A.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah now now Odafi Odafi Odafi No doffy I think Odafi
- 16:07[SPEAKER_04]: But if you look at that roster, and you look at our roster, yeah, there's seconder as much better than ours because they have capable players, like I like Dante Jackson.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: That would be the primary reason for our secondary to be better than ours.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: But my gosh, if we do, if we have capable players.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and the secondary, right?
- 16:25[SPEAKER_04]: And Darwin James is a stud, but my God, if we do, like if we do a, you know, a front seven draft, it gets ugly for the Chargers.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_04]: He's getting them to play.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_04]: I think if we're gonna lay out a game plan for the dolphins, last week we said, run on first down, run on first down successfully.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_04]: Don't turn it over and that should be enough.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_04]: They didn't run the boss successfully on first down when they averaged less than a yard per carry in the entire second half.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_04]: And then they stopped period.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think we're back to that, right?
- 17:04[SPEAKER_04]: They got to run successfully on first down.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_04]: You don't want Jesse mentor reaching into his bag against your offense.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_04]: You don't mind to against pretty much any defense coordinator on 3435.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: He's actually pretty damn good.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's second in the league, converting third downs and third and five or less.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_04]: So you gotta be successful on first down, because that's the ballgame if you're not, correct?
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, but listen, this is Rinse and Repeat territory.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: When are the dolphins going to actually do it, you know, and when are they going to push through the the first sign of adversity in the run game?
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's what they don't do, right?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: We know that the, you know, if they're okay, the game like two yards here, three yards there, something like that.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: But then, you know, and then maybe a zero yard there and it's like, man, you know, okay, that's the three
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's not it's not going yet.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going yet.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then they take a three yard loss or something like that is there the most prolific team to take lost yardage on run plays in the last four years.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_02]: They take one of those and then it's like, okay, that's it.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: Fuck it, we're not doing this anymore.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then they won't do it for the rest of the game.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that's kind of their problem or they will do it for the rest, they will do it at some point in the game, but it becomes like kind of the most obvious points in the game of like, oh, yeah, now we're comfortable.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: So let's try and re-estab.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: What they do is they make it easy to key.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: on the ground get and like for for and for an offensive guy, it might be Daniel who lives off of run-hass conflict, like that's shocking, you know, that's shocking that when they run the ball is so predictable.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_04]: You don't have predictable it was that they're they're most brilliant play of the entire game where Mike McDaniel can actually take credit for is that 46 yards touchdown pass to Jalen Wattle You know why that that pass comes off
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: Because you're out there in 22 personnel, right?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_04]: You're in 22 personnel and these guys run out base against you and load up the box and Jalen Wall just runs past their secondary.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_04]: Simple as that.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: Which by the way, they did not do freaking like they didn't do that frequently.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't, you know, and so they got burned for it like that one time.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: And it's really weird because like for a lot of the game, they were, they didn't march out nickel against 22 and we passed on it anyway.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so like it was, it was really interesting that they, but that was, that was it, they were playing tendencies and I think that it probably was a very smart play call.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: Because based on how they were playing our tendencies.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: you know, down distance and field positions.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: So in such and such, we probably predicted that this is what they would do on defense, even if we came out in 22 personnel.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: And burden for it, burden or I see, you know.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: So occasionally, there's definitely those brilliant playcalls.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that there's a lot more to question as well.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_04]: Last thing on this, when the dolphins have the football, we're on that part of the show right now.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_04]: Darren Waller obviously is noticeable and he had a great game against a well a great half against the Carolina Panthers.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_04]: I love you watch the all 22.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_04]: There's some stuff there in the second half too.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_04]: That you almost want you almost want to to break the huddle thinking, I'm Darren Waller no matter what, you know, and that would have been just fine by me on a few of those routes.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_04]: Durwin James has played against Travis Kelsey for what seems like 40, 50 times already
- 21:07[SPEAKER_04]: like they like to man up door when James against Travis Kelsey pretty often and that's twice a year.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_04]: Is it going to be as simple as that?
- 21:15[SPEAKER_04]: Turn wall or beat this guy by the way, they've used them, they used to put heads before in that division.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_04]: when when I believe Durwin James has a rookie and second year player face Darren Waller and when he was with the Raiders.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_04]: So that's going to be a matchup as well.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: It is but it depends and it depends on how like because you know tight ends it's never simple how you actually defend a tight end because it's never a simple.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: Unless your Brian Flores is defense or something like that where they really will just like put Eric Rowe on you all day or something You know along those lines It's never easy because it's never one thing and it's never you know Darwin James just constantly covering the guy or something like that It could be
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: And if it is, then it'll be really interesting to see what Darren Waller does because at that point you start to question, okay, well, how old is he?
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: He just came out of retirement a year ago, is he going to beat those guy like that, you know, man to man.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: Because the strength that I stand in the All 22, the reason he's so impressive, and I think that there's a lot more
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's because of his knowledge and it's because of, you know, it's because he knows where to go and he knows how to use space to get open and he knows how I mean he knows he knows exactly the the creases and the soft spots and there was a I mean there's a fourth down I really wish I had gotten a chance to, you know, break it down on
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: Twitter or something like that.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: That fourth down conversion that he had was I thought really impressive.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: There's not only impressive schematically in terms of the play column, things like that, but it was impressive really in the execution.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: And this is why it's such a shame that he got here signed in July.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: And then we didn't see him for
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: power many months, right?
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: Because all of that time, he could have been spending, you know, based on the high IQ play that I see on all 22, if this guy had been working with two of the entire time, this, like the offense would literally have a different dimension to it.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: And it would probably, it probably could have been a lot more productive to this point in the season based on based on just pure chemistry between those two think of the chemistry that Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes have together I mean it's it's kind of legendary what you see and Darren Waller on tape is a guy who has the potential to do that.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_02]: you know, he has the potential to have that sort of chemistry and being on the same page with the quarterback in that way.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they necessarily are.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: I noticed they got off to super fast start, which is promising, even, you know, he hadn't played at all, and then all of
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: So, I think that, you know, as you go, that could add like a serious dimension to the offense.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's legit.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we've made, we've paned that edition a lot on this show between Simon and I especially.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: And, and I think that that's something that until he did actually play, it was, you know, embarrassing.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: But now that he's playing,
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: you got to call it for what it is.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: This is what it looks like on the alt 22.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: This is what he is and he could be a very powerful weapon for Miami.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: The real question is as they bump him into 21 personnel or 11 personnel like on non-passing downs, you know, what's going to happen to his body.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: His unretired kind of old body that already, you know, as soon as he came back, he got a quad
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: strained or whatever they want to call it, you know, so if they start bumping him up into into those single tight end, those him being the lone tight end, the real why, you know what I mean?
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: How's his body going to react to that?
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's a real question and unfortunately, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if if they did bump up his snap counts and usage that way and you know, almost immediately his body breaks down because of it.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's possible.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: But at this point, you're not saving anything for the return trip.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're one and four.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: So use them.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: Use them until you lose them.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, and to a to a had a pretty good quote on his availability this week when he said when you're out there he looks different because he's bigger than everybody else so he's easy to spot in the offense.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, you know, I completely agree with you, they're going to have to get everybody involved in in this game and Jim and water.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_04]: Look, I understand like his EPA wasn't Tyreek Hill levels, but they got to resist this urge of your turn, my turn, and just let it play in the flow of the offense, and Jail and Water's gonna be just fine, I really do believe so, if there's a guy who I absolutely trust, if he is healthy, I think Jail and Water is that 1,200, 1,300 yard receiver.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_04]: on this team and why I was not I would not spend a high asset or high traffic on another wide receiver next year.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: But you ever noticed that for some reason we have to run between extremes like what wouldn't to have before the micro Daniel era, right?
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: All he had were big tall targets who couldn't get open to save their lives, right?
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: Everything is a jump ball.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: And it was big targets, too, right?
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: It was Devante Parker.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big target.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's Mike Kaseki.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big target, you know, go back, you know, remember, Preston Williams.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, it's big targets, but it was guys who couldn't get open, right?
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: Fast forward, Mike, me Daniel, and it's an immediate switch to a bunch of smurfs out there playing Speedy Gonzalez.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, they get open.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: a man or they tiny.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, why do we always have to go to certain through such extremes with to a, can you just like kind of have a good middle at some.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I said, all together.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: All together.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: Why don't you just go for like something, something not so, you know, cited and actually just try and and run something normal for once, but
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: And it makes you wonder if, you know, to a is just delighted to have a big target like that.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_04]: And which I'm sure is we're going to go to break and when we come back, we'll talk about defense unfortunately.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we have to.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_04]: But let me tell you about underdog.

- 31:19[SPEAKER_04]: All right, we got to talk about this even.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_04]: I've watched a lot of charge of football and went healthy and drink.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_04]: That's a thing we say around here for the dolphins as well.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_04]: When completely healthy, they have one of the best offensive lines in football.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_04]: They have a sledgehammer run game.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_04]: They have a quarterback that can get to play action.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't think his weapons are that bad anymore, especially since Quentin Johnston now remembered how to play football.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_04]: Can you nowans back there?
- 31:56[SPEAKER_04]: And we all know Leib McConk is a hell of a player.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_04]: Now, we'll disly, has been paying dividends, but he's a guy that is likely not going to play, or maybe is if he on the injured report.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_04]: So we shall see, which could elevate a run-day guest and junior.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: which you know it's bad enough we get we get killed by Mason Taylor.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_04]: So now Rend around it gets the junior is on the way.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but here's the good news.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_04]: The good news is they're going to be missing three starters on the offensive line most likely and ever since they've been missing their tackles.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_04]: Especially Joe because they've started to season off without slater but Joe all quickly proved
- 32:46[SPEAKER_04]: he went out with a high ankle spring and that offensive line is now only not only leaky but downright detrimental to to just an Herbert's numbers and his play.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_04]: He's gone from the favorite as an MVP candidate in week three to two weeks later he is the number nine.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_04]: favorite MVP candidate.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_04]: So he's gone from plus 300 to plus 1600 in two weeks time.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_04]: Why?
- 33:21[SPEAKER_04]: They can't throw it.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_04]: They can't protect him.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_04]: He's getting hit a ton.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_04]: They give up the most quick pressure in the league.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_04]: There's one thing the dolphins can do is get quick pressure.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_04]: Not do they get the
- 33:40[SPEAKER_04]: kind of bulls well for Miami to at least stay in the game.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_04]: They're going to need a supreme effort from the offense.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_04]: But I think if they can get to Justin Herbert, they're on running back number three.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_04]: And neither of these guys are Hampton who's pretty good rookie.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_04]: They could be helped here.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_04]: And I think this can help them stay in this game to win it.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_04]: Your thoughts on the chargers' offensive line or lack thereof of offensive line?
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's going to be a real problem for them because the obvious is that the strength of Miami's defense regardless of...
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: of how it's been playing out has been that in that front seven.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it still is.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: These are the guys that know the most about playing is axiom, learn, jail, and Phillips, and Bradley Chub, and you know, chop Robinson and think, and good.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: And the more that comes, the more we go on in the season, I think the more that that front seven is going to click with one another, because of the amount of experience and know how even what the rookies being counted on.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the one thing about us kind of going through the the the rookies and how they're struggling with Kenneth Grant Jordan Phillips is.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, the defense's problems are not embedded exclusively within that defense line within those rookies.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: Or, you know, it's actually or having a tough year or anything.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's not it, that's really not it.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think that much like, you know, the chargers defense of front is able to play seemingly above themselves because they have a strong secondary.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we have a atrocious secondary, and it is causing our defensive front to play far below themselves.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: And so.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry to interrupt you, but I thought that Anthony, we were had a telling, I don't know how you feel about this.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I hear it, and I'm like, I don't know.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_04]: But he said that the defense.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_04]: allowed 60 yards on 26 carries.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of the rest of the Russian yards on the rest of the carries.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_04]: So he's basically saying, we're not completely clueless.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_04]: We're just completely clueless on about eight carries a game.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think, you know, that's going to sound like excuse me, making it, I get it, right?
- 36:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's sort of like the classic, you know, aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how'd you like to play?
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know,
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: But it is a fair point to bring up.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: It is a point that I wanted to bring up myself because I can go in that last game, run by run, the big runs, the explosives, or 10 plus yard runs.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: And you can sort of track exactly what happened there.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: And it really is, it's a smorgasportive of issues.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_02]: But it's not all that defense of front.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know, in fact, on those runs, a lot of it is the miss tackling and, you know, somebody trying to punch a ball out or just, you know, getting to aggressive and or just making the wrong read or, you know, somebody just just forgetting a basic part of football and reading this instead of instead of that reading, you know, not reading the polar like and things like that.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it really, it really is just a bunch of mistakes.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: And when they stop making those mistakes, I wouldn't be surprised if all of a sudden it's like, oh, why it teams aren't really running the ball against us anymore.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's the, okay, that's weird.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think that that's going to happen.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: At some point this year, I don't know if it's this week because I happen to have a fair opinion of those running backs.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think that they can't play.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that offensive line will be able to block us, but I do know that Jim Harbaugh is making some changes there with the Center Bradley Boseman.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's about getting people who will execute their fundamentals.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously, as opposed to just being talented on paper.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: And if they do execute the fundamentals and we continue to not,
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: you know on those individual plays.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: Then yeah, we'll have another day where it's like, hey, 25, 25 of those carries, we did an alright job and then on the other seven whole ship.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, so yeah, I think that I think it is absolutely a fair point to bring up because they're going to, as they go in the season, they're going to reduce those, those big mistakes.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you're going to get into the flow.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: of it.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's definitely I think that the the chargers will be vulnerable here from the most part because I think that they're going to try and have Justin Herbert do things against our front seven.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: And our our safeties are our secondary is going to be vulnerable
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: If you try and go that route, again, star defense of front, don't be surprised, jail and Philos brings you down.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_02]: You know, don't be surprised, Bradley, Chub brings you down.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think that it's definitely a thing.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, if they try to put the ball in that court, it is going to be interesting for the dolphins.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_04]: Now, and you also have the whole thing about, you know, coming east and that's something that the chargers just haven't done well, there's just not something that they do well, or the just in Herbert era chargers have done well, like they have a ton, they have losses here in Miami, they have losses in New England losses to the jets.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_04]: um, losses in Carolina, like losses in Atlanta, like it's a thing.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's an actual thing when teams from out west come east.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_04]: Miami the last time that they've lost a game from a team coming out west east was against Seattle, and that was in 2020.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_04]: That's five years ago.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and that was to Russell Wilson leading them on a comeback.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you remember that game.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_04]: That was a game where Xavier and Howard said, you can't throw it over my head and Russell Wilson says, I'm going to throw it right over your head 62 yards.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_04]: Remember, and they lost by a touchdown.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, I was the Fitzpatrick-led Dolphins to a took over later on that season.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_04]: But it's a thing.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_04]: It's always been a thing.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_04]: And if you watch them, when they run the ball, man their tough.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_04]: And I actually like their weapons.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_04]: One of them might be out, which is Will Dysley.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's a that's a problem for them because he's cemented himself as as as a noticeable player for just in Herbert and just in Herbert knows how to work with a tight end.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_04]: I could see this game going one of two ways, really, really, really boring and it's just a contest of which quarterback actually fucks up.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_04]: You know, like I know, I understand it's popular.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody's out there like, oh, this is two of versus versus Herbert.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_04]: This is going to be fun.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_04]: You know what?
- 41:12[SPEAKER_04]: I think it is two of versus Herbert, all right, like that's a possibility.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_04]: And both, both quarterbacks have equal handicaps, I think, okay?
- 41:22[SPEAKER_04]: Justin Herbert's handicap is his offensive line cam block pressure.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_04]: So Miami should have something going there.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_04]: And two of his handicap is that he's actually going up against a pretty damn good defense coordinator in Jesse Mentor.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_04]: And a second, every that's actually pretty decent.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_04]: So it could be that, it could be something as simple as that, you know, which quarterback can play clean.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_04]: Not a lot, you know, not take too many sacks, no turnovers, play a really efficient game, that team wins.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_04]: Or it could just be both defenses are completely incompetent to their passing games.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_04]: And we have ourselves a shootout.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_04]: I'm leaning to boring.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_04]: Where are you leaning to?
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I am leaning toward toward boring, but I don't know.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is this is really hard to say
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: This is as much as last week, I mean, it's just like you started the show with as much as last week was the trap game, you know, and this is, this is sort of the opposite of the trap game.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: This is the one that we shouldn't be favored in, I know what he should, nobody should say that about the dolphins, the one in four dolphins going up against the chargers.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we understand.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: What that looks like right, but the circumstances are good.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: The circumstances are really good in favor of the dolphin The thing that that may that gives me pause is the dolphins aren't good enough to wear if the circumstances favor them.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: You can count on a victory You know sometimes you can just count on a close defeat
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: Because the circumstances favored them and and and you know that's kind of where I come on come out on this and you know does it turn into a shoot out to me at home.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, like
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: It should, but if it turns into a mistake, you know, a QB making a mistake over here and then a QB making a mistake over there and then a Q, you know, like if turns into that sort of thing, then then obviously not that that shoot out.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: So, so you know, I kind of want to, I mean, I'm torn in both directions there and I think I will come out on the side of shoot out though.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and say, but ultimately, the dolphins lose a heartbreaker because they're good at losing heartbreakers.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_04]: Um, all right.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's time to pick the game.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: You kind of gave it away.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_04]: You said heart breaking lost.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_04]: That's the way I was kind of leaning.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I didn't realize that you were going to go there.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was kind of leaning to, you know, last second, you know, from your goal, you know, 51 yard field, go something like that.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_04]: Hard fought 23, 23 game and then, you know, the chargers kick one through the uprights to defeat the dolphins.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_04]: That's kind of where I was leaning.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_04]: I think the dolphins are going to have every opportunity to win this game, every opportunity.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_04]: If two a place well, like look, there's a lot of ifs, if two a place well, they get some pressure on just in Herbert, you know, it's it was already hard to envision the dolphins losing when two to a place great, but he had a 120 pass a rating last week and three touchdowns and they lost.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so it's a thing that can happen.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_04]: That's rough.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_04]: So that's the way I was leaning.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_04]: I guess I'll just stay that way.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, Chargers kick a field goal to win this thing.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_04]: 26, 23, they might think then he will not be fired after that result, by the way.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_04]: So your thoughts on the game as we get out of here?
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that this is building towards, as you suggested, a heartbreaking loss because enough is going in favor of the alpha.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: to possibly prevent the sort of shell acting that frankly, would potentially get Mike McDaniel Fire.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: I have a feeling, you know, Spidey-Sense Tangling and what, tacitly by some people that I trust, that even though the mindset right now is definitely not, you know, we're gonna fire Mike McDaniel imminently.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: They lost at home, a bad loss, a getting pantsed kind of loss that would just completely demoralize the fan base.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_02]: Result in empty seats, you know, I noticed Jeremy Fowler when he was talking about the situation this week.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_02]: He mentioned something about the home, you know, crowd and the fans and the empty seats and things like that.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_02]: If you're embarrassing for your home crowd, then that is something that would work heavily against Mike McKangel.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that if they do get embarrassingly needed and just have a total meltdown.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_02]: then black Monday could be here.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: You already because otherwise they're going on the road twice in the two weeks after that and you know, what are they going to look like in that Thursday night home game against against the Baltimore Ravens on nationally televised with no crowd there and crowd just booing the team and things like that.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that yeah, if it goes that direction, you could you could see that, but there's enough working in favor of the dolphins that I think it's like just they're just good enough to lose the skin.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where I say 27 24.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm almost stealing your score.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: I was comfortably going to be the guy going under on the Dolphins.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: I assumed you were going to pick them and I would be like, you know, yeah, it's going to be that one.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_04]: They won by the way, had they won last week.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_04]: I was going to, I was prepared this week to see that they were going to win this week and that they're winning off wins until they play the Ravens building the conference, you know, part of me does want to say that, you know, they're back against the wall as much as it was against the jets.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: And until they start proving that when they're backs against the wall that badly that they can't, you know, they can't come back from it, then maybe I should keep going with the bounce back, you know, maybe they don't, they're just one of those teams that can't strain together two victories.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know that that could we seen a lot of those and this that's the profile somewhat like that But so if the dolphins do win I think that's what it was is like hey they're one and four truly back against the wall again And they just they avoided that
- 48:03[SPEAKER_02]: they avoided it, just like they did against the jets, but then they won't strain together too, you know, like like it's sort of that sort of thing.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: In this case, I think it's going to be probably a close loss just good enough to lose situation, looking a bit snake bit.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's one of those things where you just check off the boxes, you know, and I understand that they ran for 19 yards, but I'm of the, I was of the opinion that it's extremely hard for this team to lose when to a place kind of great, and I thought he was really, really good in this game if you break down all his throws, okay, yeah, he sailed that one at the end to, to Jalen water, that's like one of two bad passes all day.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_04]: like come on you can't survive one bad past then I'm sorry you're probably not very very good okay when you start losing with your quarterback playing very well that's a problem so I think that look this is going to be an important game because promises are always made I'm pretty certain that after 2023 Steven Ross looked at the team and was like you know what these guys are all right they didn't lie to me like they told me we were going to be pretty good
- 49:14[SPEAKER_04]: And the team was pretty good, and then, you know, the excuse machine, yeah, and I understand look, it's an excuse machine, but they're not excuses when it's reality.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_04]: You miss three starting offensive linemen and every single edge player, you're not going to be a good team.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry, you're not going to be the same team that won the loving games.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_04]: You just not.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_04]: So I think Stephen Ross looked at that and said, you know what?
- 49:33[SPEAKER_04]: We had the number one offense, I understand the circumstances of what happened, but I look at that number that, that, that,
- 49:41[SPEAKER_04]: that Barry Jackson was talking about and understanding people who are like, I'll come here not including Palm Beach County.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we don't include Palm Beach County, all right?
- 49:49[SPEAKER_04]: Just date and power.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_04]: And we're going to point and 8.5 rating and understand that Boston is a big sports town, okay?
- 49:59[SPEAKER_04]: The Patriots, when they're bad, and they've been bad, they won't for games last year.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_04]: Chris, okay?
- 50:06[SPEAKER_04]: When they won't for games last year, they're regularly getting 30s and 40s.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_04]: Many when the Patriots are playing on TV, 30% of all TVs in the Boston area are watching the Patriots.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_04]: The dolphins used to be able to count on 25, 30s, they got an 8.5, meaning 92% of TV's found better stuff to do on Sunday at 1pm.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_04]: I think Stephen Ross really cares about that number.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_04]: He does.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_04]: And he should.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_04]: And he should, of course, that's the profile of your team.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_04]: That's the profile of your team.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_04]: Look, just go back to the numbers.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_04]: The last time everything was hunky dork around here was the victory against the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody in their mother were watching that game.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_04]: And it was a nationally televised game.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_04]: Steven Ross likes that.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, above all else, you know, and that makes it, that makes it be like, you know, listen, if the solution was just winning, you know, just winning, then then 20, 2023 would have, what have handled it, right, and, you know, they did win eight games last year, and then you could say, oh, well, to a missed the games and we miss, you know, blah, blah, blah, but,
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: But if the solution was just that, then I think that you'd be getting, you wouldn't be getting as dire of a situation as you're right now.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think the solution is just winning.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: The fans are legitimately tired of seeing the same thing.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, over and over again.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_02]: And that's when you got to pay attention.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_02]: You got to pay attention.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_02]: You got to be like, maybe I do need to give them what they want.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_04]: You know, um, and and because at the end of the day, if this is an entertainment business, so yeah, yeah, and the end of the day you are competing with other teams in town, other things that people like to do and man, I saw that 8.5 number, now I'm like, wow, yeah, like that's that's a bad numbers tragic.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, that's like that's late late late late night TV.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_04]: So.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_04]: That's it.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_04]: A Monday we will talk about this game.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_04]: Let's hope for a let's hope for the best.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_04]: How about a tour tour to force and adjust in her book fourth quarter intersection?
- 52:27[SPEAKER_04]: How about that?
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: Always hoping for the best.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_04]: Can we can we can we can we have a celebratory show a Monday especially against the charges and just in her but till then
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for listening to three yards per catty.
