SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to the Brilliant Fertility Podcast.
• 1:11
SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited about our guest today, Dr.
• 1:14
  SPEAKER_02: Abby Lee.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_02: Abby is an Ayurvedic doctor, a Vedic astrologer specializing in fertility and reproductive health, integrating the wisdom of Ayurveda with the timing and insight of Vedic astrology, which I know zero about.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_02: So I am just super pumped to pick your brain.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_02: And so I'm very curious how you how did you get into this work in the first place?
• 1:41
  SPEAKER_02: What led you here?
• 1:44
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, like many people in the medicine and in the healing industry, is that uh it came from an illness.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_00: And so uh in 2013, uh I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme's disease.
• 2:00
SPEAKER_00: And um I didn't know that I had it for so long, and then finally someone gave me this diagnosis, and I was like, ah, okay, here, this is this is what I need to be working on.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_00: And it affected my brain, affected my heart, it affected my reproductive system.
• 2:17
SPEAKER_00: And at this time I was 30 years old and really wanting to have a family.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: I wasn't quite in the relationship that I needed to be in for that, um, but I knew that that was one of my goals.
• 2:29
SPEAKER_00: And the um the medic uh medical doctors that I was working with um were very adamant that I would not be able to carry a child and um nor am I gonna be able to get pregnant because of the severity of of the Lyme's disease.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_00: And uh so you know when sometimes you resonate with your illness and sometimes you don't?
• 2:54
SPEAKER_00: When I heard that, I was like, that's not true for me.
• 2:56
SPEAKER_00: Like that could be, you know, on paper that's what it looks like, but that doesn't feel right for me.
• 3:02
SPEAKER_00: And uh so that illness propelled me into Ayurveda, and I just I devoured Ayurveda.
• 3:10
SPEAKER_00: I just wanted to know everything about it.
• 3:12
SPEAKER_00: And uh with that practice, it really helped me to heal my body, but also heal my consciousness, brought me deeper into my spirituality, uh, really helped me to be able to turn my body on to heal itself rather than the focus of me trying to heal myself, if that makes sense.
• 3:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_00: And so when everything started to turn back on, I was like, ah, okay, great.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_00: And um when I turned around 38 or so, um I was that's when I was like, oh, I was 37.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_00: Um was like, okay, I do want to have children.
• 3:55
SPEAKER_00: I had just ended the relationship, and so I was like, you know, what do I do right now?
• 4:00
SPEAKER_00: Am I even able to get pregnant?
• 4:03
SPEAKER_00: What does that look like?
• 4:04
SPEAKER_00: And um maybe even freezing my eggs.
• 4:06
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 4:07
SPEAKER_00: I didn't, you know, I was just I knew that being a mother was was one of my things I really want to do in this lifetime, and so uh at that time um there were like I I didn't have enough egg reserve or quality to even do um uh to freeze my eggs.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_00: And so that kind of reversed everything for me, and again, not trying to believe in the the situation, and so I did a lot of um healing of my womb, uh doing a lot of energetic work and physical work uh and mental health too as well through that.
• 4:48
SPEAKER_00: Uh and in the meantime, in the background, I had finished uh my Ayurvedic studies and I was uh um I was just at the end of my Jyotish studies.
• 4:59
SPEAKER_00: Uh well they're never ending, right?
• 5:01
SPEAKER_00: You're always you're always studying, you're always fewer later.
• 5:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_00: Uh and so I remember in my Jotish that uh it was said that I was gonna be given a child.
• 5:13
  SPEAKER_00: And I was I I guess okay, I'm giving a child, I'm giving a child.
• 5:18
SPEAKER_00: But in my dreams when I was a child, I remember being pregnant.
• 5:22
SPEAKER_00: I remember like this was the biggest desire, is even just to hold and carry the child within me.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_00: And so I didn't want to release that dream.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_00: And I uh met my now husband uh when I was uh 39, and we got married uh when I turned 40, and he wanted to have children, and so we tried for two years, almost three years, and uh nothing nothing was coming of it, at least the conception, right?
• 5:51
SPEAKER_00: We um we did a lot of like really beautiful um healing in our own bodies and our own minds to really bring in a conscious conception, and that was what helps make it feel really sacred and special, and then there's always that that longing, that hope of being a mother there too, as well, that's heartaching as well.
• 6:17
SPEAKER_00: And so um both of in our Vedic astrology chart, me and my husband's uh a child is given to us in a foreign land.
• 6:27
SPEAKER_00: And at the time we were living in Mexico, and we decided we want to move to uh the Azores where we live right now.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_00: We live in Portugal and these islands, and uh we moved here, and I was like, great, we went to a foreign land, I'm gonna get pregnant, right?
• 6:44
  SPEAKER_00: Like, that's it, that's how it's gonna happen.
• 6:46
SPEAKER_00: And we actually, it was interesting at that time.
• 6:50
SPEAKER_00: There was a moment where we thought we were actually going to adopt a family member of ours.
• 6:54
SPEAKER_00: And so I'm like, okay, well, maybe this is it, this is that essence that's coming in.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_00: I still need to be a mother and excited, but I really wanted to hold a baby and um and to carry it in my in my my body and in my essence and um and have that connection.
• 7:11
SPEAKER_00: And so uh we went to a fertility clinic and um they were like, again, you know, my uh you know, throwing numbers out there, my AMH was 0.03.
• 7:25
SPEAKER_00: So I had like less than a percentage chance on you know in the medical world that like I would get pregnant on on paper.
• 7:34
SPEAKER_00: Um and I was still trying not to believe in the diagnosis, right?
• 7:38
SPEAKER_00: But then the doctor would ask me, what would you feel, how would you feel about doing a donor egg?
• 7:45
SPEAKER_00: And for some people, that's their last reservation.
• 7:48
SPEAKER_00: They're like, nah, nah, let me try IVS, let me try everything else before a donor egg.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_00: And for me, it lit me up.
• 7:57
SPEAKER_00: It was a big yes inside, and I was like, oh my gosh.
• 8:01
SPEAKER_00: It wasn't just me that was saying yes, but also the spirit of the child was like, okay, go for it, go for it, here we are, right?
• 8:09
SPEAKER_00: And so now I was literally given a child, but in a in a package I never thought I could.
• 8:16
SPEAKER_00: And there was, you know, some uh struggles around it.
• 8:21
SPEAKER_00: I was, you know, the biggest struggles weren't the, oh, am I am I, you know, um using fertility treatments or you know, am I doing the right thing?
• 8:31
SPEAKER_00: It was like, how could I make this sacred for me?
• 8:34
SPEAKER_00: Because I thought it that you know, you could teach everything to everybody else, like, oh, having a conscious conception and and the sacredness and teaching them and slowing down and that beauty of it.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_00: I was like, how could I still have that and use fertility treatments?
• 8:52
SPEAKER_00: And that was that was where I was like really battling inside for me.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_00: Um and my community actually is what held it for me.
• 9:02
SPEAKER_00: Uh the beautiful women that here on the island um did like a mother ceremony for me.
• 9:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, they brought me actually to uh to a farm and I like hugged cows, pregnant cows.
• 9:15
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's precious.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was really beautiful, it was so beautiful.
• 9:21
SPEAKER_00: Um but the thing that that like I go, oh, uh-huh, was that in my chart and in my husband's chart, it said we were getting a child in a foreign land.
• 9:32
SPEAKER_00: And when we decided to actually do this, everything was so easy.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_00: The the treatments uh my body responded well to.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_00: I had a beautiful pregnancy, uh, birth, everything was really wonderful, and we plan to do it again.
• 9:50
SPEAKER_00: And you know, if it comes naturally or with a donor egg, but where I like it was just that alignment helped me uh accept and then also get excited, right?
• 10:03
SPEAKER_00: That hope was back there that I was looking for.
• 10:07
SPEAKER_00: So that's kind of the the the story of how I went from my illness to my fertility treatment and how Ayurveda and Jotish were there the whole time.
• 10:17
SPEAKER_02: So and I'm so impressed that you're able to summarize those years into about eight minutes and so many, so many questions.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_02: And you know first, like just hearing you uh talk about like how do I make this sacred?
• 10:36
SPEAKER_02: Even though we've talked a little bit about your story before in the lead up to recording, it's like it's one of those stories that gives me a lot of things.
• 10:48
SPEAKER_02: And you know, like brings up all the emotions of like oh there's there's so many possibilities.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_02: How do we know what possibilities are really right for us?
• 10:59
SPEAKER_02: How do we make it sacred or do we do something that feels more uh technically challenging or very medicalized when I I do believe that all these tools exist to support us, but often they're not those providers are not trained to support the mental, the emotional, the storm.
• 11:19
SPEAKER_02: So it's not in their wheelhouse to make it sacred.
• 11:22
SPEAKER_02: It's like let's get the egg and the storm together and put them back in.
• 11:25
  SPEAKER_02: And that's it.
• 11:26
  SPEAKER_00: And and it's a moneymaker.
• 11:27
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's a huge industry.
• 11:29
SPEAKER_00: Fertility is a huge industry that's you know, that gets preyed upon our hopes and dreams.
• 11:36
  SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_02: So I guess my first question out of that would be when you talk about hearing the option of using a donor egg and lighting up, like how did you know what was a yes for you?
• 11:52
SPEAKER_02: Had you been practicing what that intuition felt like?
• 11:58
  SPEAKER_00: Sure.
• 11:58
SPEAKER_00: Uh I so in in Ayurveda, we say that the soul of the child is hovering around the mother.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_00: And it does this months, years before the child is even conceived.
• 12:19
SPEAKER_00: And then at week eight, it decides, okay, I'm gonna anchor into this mother.
• 12:23
SPEAKER_00: And then at week 14, we say that it has decided to stay.
• 12:28
SPEAKER_00: And so before that, when I was going through my conscious conception, because I also help people with fertility and move through conscious conception naturally or however they decide to go through it.
• 12:41
SPEAKER_00: I sat and prayed and then just held space for this essence, this feeling I could feel around me.
• 12:49
SPEAKER_00: And I knew that this child was going to be with me at some point.
• 12:53
SPEAKER_00: I didn't know how, where, what, but that helped me when it said donor egg.
• 12:59
SPEAKER_00: It wasn't a a yes from my mind, uh, it was a yes really from my heart and from the spirit.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_00: And that's that's when I knew that it was right.
• 13:10
SPEAKER_00: And because it's not right for everybody, right?
• 13:13
  SPEAKER_00: It doesn't, it's not a one-size-fits-all for people.
• 13:17
SPEAKER_00: And sometimes it can be a very scary option for people.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_00: And for me, it was a yes.
• 13:23
SPEAKER_00: Uh, I think also being told uh that I'm not able to uh to conceive or carry a child was really like I I you know I I didn't want to believe it.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_00: And also you've you've been told over and over and over again that this is the situation, but then someone gives you hope that this could possibly happen.
• 13:52
SPEAKER_00: It was like like I had actually I've never it wasn't that I hadn't heard of donor egg or donor sperm, but it wasn't even in my wheelhouse.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_00: I didn't even consider that to be an option for me at all until this doctor said it.
• 14:07
SPEAKER_00: And he said it so easily and sweetly, and his bedside manners are amazing.
• 14:11
SPEAKER_00: I love this doctor, uh Dr.
• 14:13
  SPEAKER_00: Rui.
• 14:14
SPEAKER_00: Um, and so because of his delivery and the ease of it and probably the timing of uh the planets for both me and my husband, it was perfect.
• 14:25
SPEAKER_00: It was it was the yes for me.
• 14:29
SPEAKER_02: So let's talk about that timing piece, because I a lot of the women that I work with, couples that I work with, they have this idea of how they want the timeline to go consciously.
• 14:43
SPEAKER_02: And I do my best to counsel people, and like, oh that is one thing we don't have control over is the when and the how this child is going to come in.
• 14:54
SPEAKER_02: So, how does Vedic astrology help us understand better the the timing of the preconception, the conception, the whether or not you'll need support?
• 15:08
SPEAKER_02: What does that actually look like?
• 15:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so first off, Vedic astrology is not it's not a predictive, it's not like you will have this will happen right now.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_00: It gives us time frames when we are looks like the most fertile, when the soul is like, oh, this would be great, this would be the perfect time for them to come in.
• 15:28
SPEAKER_00: And it takes two charts, right?
• 15:30
SPEAKER_00: So um if uh if we have if you have um a partner, then it's both of those partners.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_00: Um otherwise, if you have a donor, then it is just yours, if you unless you can get the donor chart.
• 15:43
SPEAKER_00: With that said, uh the timing shows us again, like I'll give you examples.
• 15:54
SPEAKER_00: Um so I have this um patient right now.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_00: Uh, when she turned 39, she really wanted to have a child.
• 16:02
SPEAKER_00: I was like, you can actually have a child and you can actually have your child natural, but you need to wait two and a half years.
• 16:09
SPEAKER_00: And that I mean, a woman who wants to have a child and to wait, to wait three months is a long time, to wait six months is a long time.
• 16:18
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I promise you, if you can wait two and a half months, not just to prep your body and to prep your mind, but in your chart, your Jupiter is so strong, and Jupiter is the representation of children in our chart, and it's beautifully placed in your chart, and I promise you.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_00: And so uh she turned um 40 uh 42 last was it June or so, but in December she got pregnant, and it was right when her Jupiter came through.
• 16:46
  SPEAKER_00: So things like that.
• 16:47
SPEAKER_00: Also, I had a 48-year-old patient um who just got pregnant naturally.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_00: So for me, it's it's not an age game.
• 16:56
SPEAKER_00: It's when are you going to be fully supported by all of these planets, by the alignment?
• 17:03
SPEAKER_00: When is both of your your charts, your partners, and uh your chart going to align to have a child?
• 17:11
SPEAKER_00: That's that's the the the magic of timing for it.
• 17:16
SPEAKER_00: It's not necessarily an age uh an age um timetable.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_02: Yes, and I would agree with that, just having witnessed so many examples over the last decade of the linear timeline not making any sense logically.
• 17:39
SPEAKER_02: I don't think um, you know, our our Western way of viewing uh fertility and you know the falling off a cliff at 35 is very accurate, or very accurate.
• 17:53
SPEAKER_02: That wasn't held up in my practice, and so I'm always looking for new tools to help us understand more deeply how to be supported during the time, during the waiting that our minds fight so hard against.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_02: And I being, you know, very much like a studio scientist for most of my life was so wary of tools like astrology or human design because of well, I'm stubborn and I don't like being told what to do for number one, but also you know, having that concern of like getting very attacked to what this part says, and therefore maybe spiritually bypassing certain things like well, that's just my personality, and XYZ is in my stars, so it can't change.
• 18:43
SPEAKER_02: And how do you speak to that element?
• 18:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 18:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, so again, it's kind of like when I got that diagnosis, and they're like, Oh, you have Lyme's disease, you're not gonna be able to get pregnant.
• 18:55
SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's there, and it's just a uh like a signpost in the road.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_00: And so with Vedic astrology, again, we're not predictive, we're not like yes or no, it's never black or white.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_00: It's just oh, what is gonna be optimal for you?
• 19:13
SPEAKER_00: What is going to look like your best chances?
• 19:17
SPEAKER_00: How what tendencies are showing up in your chart for you?
• 19:21
SPEAKER_00: Uh and also like we can see the weak points in people's um charts.
• 19:27
SPEAKER_00: So, like, uh say, like, oh, I can like before seeing people, I'm like, oh, is this happening in your reproductive system?
• 19:34
SPEAKER_00: Is this happening in your cardio uh cardiovascular system?
• 19:38
SPEAKER_00: How is your mind working here?
• 19:40
SPEAKER_00: And so, one, when we can see those things, it gives us this reflection of who we are.
• 19:46
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then when certain timings happen in our lives and we can see them in the past, it gives us this feeling of acceptance, like, ah, okay, great.
• 19:56
SPEAKER_00: It for me, it gave me a relief.
• 19:58
SPEAKER_00: Like, I was like, oh, okay.
• 20:00
SPEAKER_00: So I had both my children in a Jupiter-Venus dasha or Jupiter-Venus uh timing, and uh Jupiter is about children, Venus uh is actually about our reproductive system, and before that, even uh with my partners before, it just wasn't happening.
• 20:22
SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, I used fertility treatments, but then I was able to carry a child with no problems, birth without these issues, right?
• 20:31
SPEAKER_00: And it's a really fruitful time for me.
• 20:34
SPEAKER_00: So when that is happening, with my first birth, my second one, I'm like, oh, I'm in full acceptance.
• 20:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, yes, the the planets are supporting me during this time, but it does get this give this feeling of hope again when you can understand that there's timings that are going to be more beneficial for you.
• 20:56
SPEAKER_02: I there's like a little voice that's picking up behind me that's just mirroring my most skeptical patients of like what how would you approach a scenario where you've looked at the charts of both partners and there's potentially not a placement that's showing that it's optimal for conception or bringing a child into the partnership or but there but there's still that yearning.
• 21:25
SPEAKER_02: How how what what happens next in a scenario like that?
• 21:30
SPEAKER_00: So when I have a situation like that, and that has happened too as well, um I'm always going to lean into like there's not anything that shows that you can't change energy.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna what I'm saying here is in Vedic astrology, if say I said this this this planet Jupiter is the representation of children, and say it has many.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_00: Many challenges over it saying, Oh no, children.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_00: In Vedic astrology, we look at the planets as energy, and if that energy can shift us, we can shift the energy.
• 22:09
SPEAKER_00: And so I actually give people remedies around Jupiter that will actually help them in that timing.
• 22:15
SPEAKER_00: So there is no like absolutely no or absolutely yes, right?
• 22:20
SPEAKER_00: It it gives us the space to play with that energy so that there is still that hope and there is still that space.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_00: And if I was like, oh, what you know, can we look at different options for you?
• 22:33
SPEAKER_00: Are you open to that?
• 22:35
SPEAKER_00: And then start having that type of conversation too, as well.
• 22:39
SPEAKER_02: And that feels so much more empowering.
• 22:42
SPEAKER_02: Just even the description of it is like a oh, okay, a relief that none of this is set in stone.
• 22:51
SPEAKER_02: And we are more powerful than we are led to believe by a lot of the systems that are at work here, and that our bodies have so much potential for healing.
• 23:04
  SPEAKER_00: And you've lived it.
• 23:06
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 23:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 23:07
SPEAKER_00: And now I get to support women going through it.
• 23:10
  SPEAKER_00: It's wonderful.
• 23:11
SPEAKER_00: My my favorite is uh when someone gets pregnant, and about you know, 12 months later, uh they call for a um a Vedicology reading for their newborn.
• 23:24
SPEAKER_00: And so I get to look at the partners, at theirs, and at the newborns chart and place them together.
• 23:30
SPEAKER_00: And it's just this beautiful harmony.
• 23:33
SPEAKER_00: It's really, really wonderful just to see that the spirit has always been there.
• 23:39
SPEAKER_02: And when doing yeah, when doing that reading, how does that support the family?
• 23:45
  SPEAKER_00: Hmm.
• 23:46
  SPEAKER_00: So, okay, let's see.
• 23:49
SPEAKER_00: So I can see um in the newborns chart, uh, like if they have um, just as in anybody's chart, like if they have any weak areas in their tissues or in their mind or things like that, like okay, great, so you know these things.
• 24:07
SPEAKER_00: So how can you support your child?
• 24:09
SPEAKER_00: Oh, your child might learn a little bit like this, so maybe you know, putting more emphasis on um different types of education for them, um, and then just empowering them of like how beautiful the spirit is going to be and all the options that they're gonna have in this lifetime, too, as well.
• 24:26
SPEAKER_00: Uh, I can also see their relationship with uh the partners too, like with their their caregivers, right?
• 24:32
SPEAKER_00: So with the mom and the dad or whoever's the caretaker.
• 24:36
SPEAKER_00: Um, and if they're if it's blessed, wonderful, great.
• 24:40
SPEAKER_00: If there's any challenges there, like, okay, we know that there's challenges, now we can do some remedies around it, you know.
• 24:46
SPEAKER_00: Um, I also, so my son um in his chart uh has what's called a balarishta, uh, which means that he might have some illnesses when he's a child.
• 25:00
SPEAKER_00: And so I as a mother get to do practices around um around his his chart.
• 25:06
SPEAKER_00: And it's this beautiful connection that I get to sit and do these meditations and do these chants and um do these remedies for my son.
• 25:14
SPEAKER_00: It feels very connected with him too.
• 25:17
SPEAKER_00: And he comes in and he sits down, he likes looking at the flame for me and those kinds of things.
• 25:22
SPEAKER_00: But um, but yeah, so it's so it shows all of our our um our blessings and it gets to show us our challenges so we know how to work with them uh in the future, which is wonderful.
• 25:39
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so your work is like spanning the conscious conception into conscious parenting in a way that sounds really nourishing.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_02: I wonder what the world would be like if everyone were to use these opportunities.
• 25:56
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
• 25:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_00: And again, it's just like another layer of information about yourself, right?
• 26:05
SPEAKER_00: So, like if you do a human design or if you, you know, do a Vedic astrology or you know, any any other type of reading of sorts, uh, it's not a set in stone, right?
• 26:18
SPEAKER_00: We're we're not a cookie cutter, we're not like all Capricorns are like this, or all cancers are like this, right?
• 26:25
SPEAKER_00: We're individual expressions, and when we get to learn more layers of information about ourselves, then we're expressing the highest potential of ourselves out into the world.
• 26:37
SPEAKER_00: And I really love that to uh inspire people and to to to support their their dreams, whether that be in parenthood, whether that be in their career, whether that be you know in uh the home or wherever that is.
• 26:58
  SPEAKER_02: I really love that.
• 26:59
SPEAKER_02: And of course now I'm trying to orchestrate like how can I get my husband on board with this?
• 27:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's always the one.
• 27:05
SPEAKER_00: That's always the one getting the partner.
• 27:07
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 27:08
SPEAKER_02: There's there's the logical, yeah, logical partner who you know has to have the the data, the spreadsheet partner.
• 27:16
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 27:16
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 27:17
  SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
• 27:18
  SPEAKER_02: There's always one.
• 27:19
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 27:20
SPEAKER_00: And you could, you know, it's also just uh um like try it out, just see.
• 27:28
SPEAKER_00: There's no harm in it.
• 27:29
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 27:30
SPEAKER_00: There's no like in Vedic astrology, we're there's no um, you know, death sentence, there's no uh, you know, uh fatalistic outcomes to this.
• 27:42
SPEAKER_00: We're just giving you tendencies, we're giving you patterns, we're giving you timings that are benefic for you.
• 27:49
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 27:49
SPEAKER_00: And uh and we also can look in the past and be like, wow, during this time, was this a really great time for you?
• 27:58
SPEAKER_00: And they're like, Yes, oh my god, that was wonderful.
• 28:00
SPEAKER_00: And did you have a more challenging time during this?
• 28:03
  SPEAKER_00: Like, yes.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_00: So that shows them, like, oh, okay, it's reflecting, right?
• 28:07
SPEAKER_00: So then what we can see in the future uh will really align.
• 28:11
SPEAKER_00: And I'll tell you, like a lot of times, 90% when people come see me for fertility, like their shart will show their fertility for sure because they're coming already with that intention and they're all cut, they're already coming with that timing and their life for it, and so usually it really aligns quite well, as long as they're willing to take it into consideration, like okay, wait for three months.
• 28:41
SPEAKER_00: Oh, and then maybe this is a good time to do a cleanse, and then this is a time to really do some conscious conception work and really restore and rejuvenate your body, and then in that year, perfect.
• 28:55
SPEAKER_00: This is a beautiful time for you.
• 28:59
SPEAKER_02: Do you I know that my listeners love they love to hear the success stories as a beacon of hope?
• 29:06
  SPEAKER_02: And you've shared a couple already.
• 29:09
SPEAKER_02: Uh the the stories of the women who are 40 and over, and sharing the story about the woman who was 39 and had to wait, what was it, two and a half?
• 29:20
SPEAKER_00: 42 and a half, yeah, you're like, oh my goodness.
• 29:22
SPEAKER_02: Yes, and I can just imagine that, you know, hearing that initially.
• 29:26
SPEAKER_02: And do you have any other examples of you know, especially partners who are on the geriatric side?
• 29:36
  SPEAKER_02: Sure.
• 29:37
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so um, yeah, so in the chart also, um, I get a lot of patients who have tried IVF and um they're not having success with IVF.
• 29:50
SPEAKER_00: Uh uh, and and I don't know if you know, when we say not success, there's a lot of emotional upheaval, like it's the loss of the hope and the dream, and then also physically feeling that, and then having to try over again, right?
• 30:07
SPEAKER_00: And that battle, that up and down I can see in the chart.
• 30:12
SPEAKER_00: And um let's see, uh, so um another woman who was 41.
• 30:19
SPEAKER_00: Um, she I actually um well I'm gonna tell two stories.
• 30:25
SPEAKER_00: One to I I told her to stop doing um IVF in her chart, it uh it was not gonna, it's just not going to work.
• 30:34
SPEAKER_00: And and she was actually the one who I said, okay, can you wait?
• 30:37
SPEAKER_00: And I want you to do nothing.
• 30:39
SPEAKER_00: I actually don't even want you to have sex right now.
• 30:41
SPEAKER_00: I don't want you to do anything for three months.
• 30:44
SPEAKER_00: You and your husband are just gonna like lay low, just chill out.
• 30:48
SPEAKER_00: And then it was uh in October.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_00: I was like, and then October, okay, then you can start to, you know, um uh have intercourse, you can start doing the um the you know um checking because a lot of times a lot of stress comes from checking your ovulation and and your body temperature and the basal temperature and you know all of that.
• 31:10
SPEAKER_00: Um and I'm like, I don't want you to do any of that.
• 31:14
SPEAKER_00: And literally it was October to the date, and um they got pregnant, and I think it's one of my favorite things is to get one of the their emails and like I'm pregnant in all capital letters, like yeah, you know, that feeling of like and you get so excited, you're like, yes.
• 31:30
SPEAKER_00: Um and then let's see, um how old was she?
• 31:36
SPEAKER_00: She there's another one, uh, she was 44.
• 31:41
SPEAKER_00: Uh she was 44, and she um had been uh trying naturally, and in her chart, um she she had um a very difficult ninth house, uh, which was um her ability to carry a child.
• 32:01
SPEAKER_00: So she could conceive, but she couldn't carry a child.
• 32:05
SPEAKER_00: And so I I I explained to her, I'm like, listen, this is what I see, and then she told me, okay, yes, I've been having miscarriages and I can't um keep a child.
• 32:14
SPEAKER_00: I was like, okay, you need to wait during this time, and you need to be um in the chart, it will also show me what type of herbs to be taking to as well to support her uh and what kind of intervention she may need.
• 32:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, she didn't need much, she just needed some um hormone balancing for her.
• 32:33
SPEAKER_00: Uh, but then she got pregnant.
• 32:35
SPEAKER_00: Um, let's see, sometimes um a lot, I shouldn't even say sometimes, I would say a lot of the times people will come to me and they're like, What can I do?
• 32:45
  SPEAKER_00: What can I do?
• 32:45
  SPEAKER_00: What can I take?
• 32:46
SPEAKER_00: You know, I'll do anything, right?
• 32:49
  SPEAKER_00: There's that that space.
• 32:50
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Well, let me look at your your partner's chart.
• 32:54
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Hey, maybe go get his um, you know, sperm count motility, uh, all of that.
• 33:00
SPEAKER_00: And they're like, Oh, but my husband's fine, he's fine, he doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, he's fine, right?
• 33:06
SPEAKER_00: Um, this actually happened with one of my clients, and I'm like, Yeah, but what does he do?
• 33:10
  SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Oh, he's a firefighter, a wildfire fire.
• 33:13
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, so I was like, so he came back and it was actually his his um his labs that were low.
• 33:22
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, can he possibly change his job?
• 33:25
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, in his chart, he just he that like that was the thing, and um, yeah, and so he became uh uh an EMT and uh we worked on um cleansing and then also restoring.
• 33:40
SPEAKER_00: Uh and um and with it was about a year later he was they were able to conceive.
• 33:48
  SPEAKER_00: So yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 33:50
SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's such a I'm so glad you brought up the the partner element of it and how importantly that plays a role.
• 33:58
  SPEAKER_02: It's 50% of the DNA.
• 34:00
SPEAKER_02: So I can only imagine with some of the occupational exposures in that scenario, how that could have been influencing the sperm quality, but also to give the female partner some opportunity or it's not your fault, quote unquote.
• 34:21
SPEAKER_00: You know, like it's the whole thing of like, oh, it's me, the blaming.
• 34:24
SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that was hard for me to go through.
• 34:28
  SPEAKER_02: So much.
• 34:29
SPEAKER_02: And I think what I've loved the most about the so many of the examples that you've given is just like the opportunity to at times do nothing.
• 34:40
SPEAKER_02: Or just be very specific and nourishing versus throwing everything at the wall just to see what sticks and everything then feels stressed and pressured and that you're spiraling because you're second-guessing.
• 34:54
SPEAKER_02: Do I need any of this?
• 34:55
SPEAKER_02: Is any of it working?
• 34:56
SPEAKER_00: And so just and when we're spiraling, all we want to do is try to control.
• 35:01
SPEAKER_00: And it's out of our control, it's completely out of our control.
• 35:05
SPEAKER_00: And that's like the the magic, that's the beauty of it, and that is the most difficult part too as well.
• 35:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yes, it is.
• 35:18
SPEAKER_02: I I think I don't know how many episodes there are in which surrender is mentioned.
• 35:27
SPEAKER_02: Which I I have at times in life wanted to just give the big middle finger to.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, but also it's like the knowing that okay, at the end of the day, that really is all that exists is to surrender.
• 35:44
  SPEAKER_00: And from the right.
• 35:45
SPEAKER_00: That was actually a big part of my um my practice before um seeing a fertility doctor here in Portugal uh was uh for me, um, I use a deity, um, her name is Dorogan, just to surrender everything to her.
• 36:03
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, it's up here, have it all.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_00: And it was really in that moment when the fertility doctor came up, everything was kind of like a yes, like oh, doot doot doot doot doot, everything was easy.
• 36:17
SPEAKER_00: Um, it was actually my husband was like, Are you sure you want to do this?
• 36:21
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh yeah, yeah, there's there was no no um no questioning it for sure.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_00: And so I think that was that I think is something I try to instill in my my patients as well, is I really want you to resonate with this, and I really want you to say yes.
• 36:45
SPEAKER_00: So if it is you want that like if it's natural, if it's with fertility uh you know um assistance, then we need to find a yes inside.
• 36:58
SPEAKER_00: Because that's gonna inform all of the cells.
• 37:04
SPEAKER_02: Does the Vedic astrology also help us understand like how we might individually feel that yes or or what practices could support us knowing like what is that right next step?
• 37:21
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so that it kind of goes back to that question or you that um that you were asking when the chart says um like not now or you have to wait or it's a yes or it's a a no or there's a block.
• 37:40
SPEAKER_00: Um when we give remedies, it really gives us this.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_00: So some of the remedies, I'll give you some examples.
• 37:50
SPEAKER_00: Some are mantras, we use chanting, um, some are also donations or shanti where you donate your time or you donate your money or you donate your energy to um to children uh in different settings um without a home or for education or for the arts or something like that, whatever it shows in your chart.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_00: And when we start to do these benefic acts, it gives us this uh this fulfillment inside.
• 38:21
SPEAKER_00: And when we work with those, it lets us surrender, like okay, I'm doing these actions, I'm getting filled up, I can kind of let go of the reins a little bit, right?
• 38:30
SPEAKER_00: And when we let go of the reins, it's as if the yes comes in naturally, right?
• 38:37
SPEAKER_00: So it's not a forced yes, it's not a let me think about the pros and cons in my head, right?
• 38:43
SPEAKER_00: It's that I've let go and now it it's it's finding me rather me finding them.
• 38:49
SPEAKER_00: So that's what we that's what I try to teach.
• 38:53
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's beautiful.
• 38:55
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 38:56
SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for sharing that.
• 39:00
SPEAKER_02: And if someone were to listen to this and say, that yes is coming through, this this would be the next step.
• 39:09
SPEAKER_02: How can people find you?
• 39:11
SPEAKER_02: How can people work with you?
• 39:13
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm, sure.
• 39:14
SPEAKER_00: So on my website, which is abbylee.com, they can go there and email me or um book an appointment or email me directly at dravylee at gmail.com.
• 39:27
SPEAKER_00: And um yeah, anybody listening to this podcast can also uh receive a discount on a fertility treatment too, if it's calling for you.
• 39:37
SPEAKER_00: Um and yeah, I'm here to support whatever path you're going to be taking so that you can really resonate with that yes inside.
• 39:49
SPEAKER_02: Well, it's funny because most of the people that I have on the podcast are those who I've either worked with directly or done training with them, or there's some connection.
• 40:01
SPEAKER_02: I'm very protective of the space.
• 40:03
SPEAKER_02: And so when it was Madison Wagner who said, I really think that you should talk to Dr.
• 40:08
SPEAKER_02: Abbey Lever, and I was like, Okay, well, I have known Madison a long time.
• 40:12
SPEAKER_02: I talked to her, and when we connected, it was it was immediate yes for me, you know, being able to share your story and share your gifts and share this tool that we haven't talked about on the podcast yet.
• 40:26
SPEAKER_02: I am I'm just so hopeful that there is someone out there who feels that calling towards this work, and so I'm just deeply grateful for you and the work that you do.
• 40:39
SPEAKER_00: Oh, thank you for having me here.
• 40:41
SPEAKER_00: And I mean, that's that's what we want to do is to be able to support all these women and their dreams and what they want and to you know help them into parenthood and having their family.
• 40:56
  SPEAKER_00: It's such a spiritual journey.
• 40:59
SPEAKER_00: Uh and now that I've I've gone through it and also planning to go through it again, um, the depths of it is held only in the experience.
• 41:09
SPEAKER_00: And if we can support women to go through that in whatever way feels like a yes to them, uh it's an honor.
• 41:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
• 41:19
SPEAKER_02: So we will have Dr.
• 41:21
SPEAKER_02: Abby's website and Instagram in our show notes, and again, if you mentioned the podcast when booking with her, um we'll get a little bit of a deal on a reading.
• 41:34
SPEAKER_02: And and Abby, I'm just so grateful for you.
• 41:38
SPEAKER_02: And I I hope that we keep in touch.
• 41:40
SPEAKER_02: If I'm ever in the Azores, I'm gonna be finding a farm walk with you or something.
• 41:46
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, we'll go, we'll go hug some cats.
• 41:50
SPEAKER_02: Oh thank you so much for being here today and our listeners.
• 41:54
SPEAKER_02: Uh, until next time, I am always sending you so much love.
