- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. Man, it goes so fast, hard
- 0:18Speaker 1: to believe. It is Week five tonight coming up shortly.
- 0:22Speaker 1: We are live in Denver with the latest. Who is
- 0:25Speaker 1: and who is not expected to play at Mile High
- 0:28Speaker 1: Tonight is we get the Broncos and the Colts to
- 0:31Speaker 1: kick off Week five on t n F on Prime Video.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is NFL Network. My name is andrews Ceciliata. We
- 0:36Speaker 1: are in our newsroom here in Los Angeles with all
- 0:39Speaker 1: kinds of news. Let's start with two, a tongue of
- 0:42Speaker 1: bloa and the investigation into what went down week three
- 0:47Speaker 1: and subsequently week four with the care given to the
- 0:51Speaker 1: Dolphins quarterback. Ian Rappingport or NFL Network insider Cam Wolf
- 0:54Speaker 1: is here as well. Ian. There're two moving parts here.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Number one, there's the investigation into his treatment. Number two,
- 1:02Speaker 1: there's a new concussion protocol which could be in place
- 1:06Speaker 1: possibly by week five, which is a couple of hours away.
- 1:10Speaker 1: What do we know first of all on that investigation
- 1:13Speaker 1: into two is medical care? Yeah, that investigation still ongoing.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I let's say close to wrapping up as far as
- 1:19Speaker 1: as twas medical care and and that whole thing too
- 1:22Speaker 1: was interviewed on Tuesdays. As colleague Tom Plicero reported, generally,
- 1:27Speaker 1: the person in the center of it too in this
- 1:30Speaker 1: case is interviewed among the last people. So that gives
- 1:32Speaker 1: you an indication for how quickly this is going. And
- 1:34Speaker 1: Dr Allan Stills and we talked to him early early
- 1:37Speaker 1: on Sunday morning. I said, the hope is to do
- 1:40Speaker 1: this within a week or two. This would be about
- 1:42Speaker 1: a little more than a week, so the timeline makes sense.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I think there is generally a possibility that the report
- 1:49Speaker 1: and the new NFL concussion protocol changes come out at
- 1:52Speaker 1: the same time. We'll see if that ends up happening,
- 1:55Speaker 1: because there is emergency. The week starts tonight with the
- 1:58Speaker 1: Broncos and Folks game. I know the NFL would like
- 2:01Speaker 1: if if everything goes perfectly well, would like a new
- 2:04Speaker 1: protocol in place by these week, so all games would
- 2:06Speaker 1: be able to have the same rules. So that would
- 2:09Speaker 1: be the goal. It is still being finalized, and and
- 2:12Speaker 1: it's not just cam, you know, making sure that the
- 2:15Speaker 1: NFL and the NFL p A are on the same
- 2:17Speaker 1: page as far as how to treat gross motor instability.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It's also making sure that the mackew White Committee from
- 2:23Speaker 1: the NFL p A that had that conspired committee from
- 2:25Speaker 1: the NFL, that they finalize it and make sure there
- 2:28Speaker 1: are no unintended consequences. But there is a little bit
- 2:31Speaker 1: of a deadline with tonight's game alright, So the announcement
- 2:34Speaker 1: was made last Saturday early evening by both the league
- 2:38Speaker 1: and the NFL PA the Union that the concussion protocols
- 2:41Speaker 1: will be changed. They just need to finalize everything here
- 2:45Speaker 1: to make sure they get it done and get it
- 2:47Speaker 1: done properly. Meantime, in Miami, we know camwellf the Teddy
- 2:51Speaker 1: Bridgewater is going to start for the Dolphins this week
- 2:54Speaker 1: in New York against one of his team's former teams,
- 2:57Speaker 1: the Jets. What is the latest go on to his health. Yeah,
- 3:01Speaker 1: Andrew too has actually been in the Dolphins building throughout
- 3:04Speaker 1: this He's been doing well considering the circumstances. Several players
- 3:08Speaker 1: have talked this week about seeing him in the locker
- 3:10Speaker 1: room smiling, joking around. And as we know, a lot
- 3:14Speaker 1: of his tests have come back to m r I
- 3:16Speaker 1: the CT scan X ray all clean. Now that being said,
- 3:19Speaker 1: he does have a concussion and he's still in the
- 3:21Speaker 1: concussion protocol and the Dolphins are being very cautious with
- 3:25Speaker 1: him moving forward. Hence they're early ruling him out this
- 3:28Speaker 1: week on a Monday. And as you mentioned, Teddy Bridgewater
- 3:31Speaker 1: will start going forward. But when you look at this situation,
- 3:34Speaker 1: one thing that has stood out is that everybody wants
- 3:36Speaker 1: to blame someone. And Mike McDaniel was asked this week
- 3:39Speaker 1: about some of the criticism he's received. He's remained adamant
- 3:42Speaker 1: that he felt like they've handled things appropriately, and he said, look,
- 3:46Speaker 1: everything is gonna be reactionary based on how we handle it,
- 3:49Speaker 1: but we care about the health of our players and ultimately,
- 3:52Speaker 1: as long as everybody inside this building feels great about
- 3:55Speaker 1: how we treat things, then we feel good about it
- 3:57Speaker 1: moving forward. He also did admit that to us having
- 4:00Speaker 1: some fomo, some fear of missing out from missing practices,
- 4:03Speaker 1: but he is a meeting room helping some of the quarterbacks,
- 4:06Speaker 1: Teddy Bridgewater, their young rookie Skyler Thompson, and so two
- 4:10Speaker 1: has been a big part of the Dolphins three in
- 4:11Speaker 1: one start. But moving forward, they will be with Teddy
- 4:14Speaker 1: Bridgewater for as long as it takes for Two to
- 4:16Speaker 1: get healthy. In yeah, and as a backup option really
- 4:18Speaker 1: hard to imagine getting a better one than Teddy Bridgewater.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Dolphins paid a lot for him, but if if you
- 4:23Speaker 1: want an expensive insurance policy, would be nice if you
- 4:26Speaker 1: didn't have to use it, but you gotta pay for it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And the fact that they can roll Bridgewater out there
- 4:30Speaker 1: with plenty of starting experience, has basically been in every
- 4:33Speaker 1: single situation and knows the offense well enough where the
- 4:36Speaker 1: playmakers have confidence in him. You'd love too to be
- 4:39Speaker 1: out there. But considering you've got Bridgewater after him, not
- 4:42Speaker 1: a bad situation from that. And I said the Jets
- 4:44Speaker 1: are one of his former teams. He never did play
- 4:46Speaker 1: in the regular season. It was eeen offseason thing and
- 4:49Speaker 1: then traded in August to New Orleans that year. Thank you, Ian,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and thank you Cam Cam stay oh, Cambelle back a
- 4:57Speaker 1: little bit later. Ian, you stay right there. Let's talk
- 4:59Speaker 1: about Tom Brady here. These are shots of Brady in
- 5:02Speaker 1: practice putting something on that right a him, that right elbow.
- 5:06Speaker 1: He was. However, back at practice today, remember Wednesday has
- 5:11Speaker 1: kind of been a work in progress. Maybe they give
- 5:14Speaker 1: it to him off, maybe they don't give it to
- 5:16Speaker 1: him off. But Brady has acknowledged that he is working
- 5:19Speaker 1: through some kind of right arm issue I and is
- 5:22Speaker 1: back Tom Pellicero with us as well. We have the
- 5:25Speaker 1: Bucketeers getting ready here on our insider report for the Falcons,
- 5:29Speaker 1: Tom Brady has never lost a game, including the postseason.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I can think of a memorable one against the Falcons. Tom.
- 5:35Speaker 1: What do we know of Brady's right arm, Well, we
- 5:38Speaker 1: know that based upon reporters at the scene, including our
- 5:40Speaker 1: Sarah Walph, that he was slinging around in practice when
- 5:43Speaker 1: he was back today is listed on the injury report
- 5:46Speaker 1: with right shoulder and right ring finger issues. Again, both
- 5:49Speaker 1: of those know and the ring finger goes back a
- 5:51Speaker 1: couple of weeks. The shoulder got banged up in last
- 5:54Speaker 1: week's game. Brady tweeted on Monday says he's just gonna
- 5:57Speaker 1: do a little bit of TV twelve on that shoulder
- 6:00Speaker 1: and should be just fine going forward here. But let's
- 6:02Speaker 1: be honest, it's a forty five year old quarterback who
- 6:05Speaker 1: has not had that many significant types of injuries through
- 6:08Speaker 1: the course of his career. So it's something that bears monitoring, certainly.
- 6:12Speaker 1: All indications as you watch them throwing here that Tom
- 6:14Speaker 1: Brady is going to play this week against the Falcons.
- 6:17Speaker 1: But at what level did some of those things start
- 6:20Speaker 1: to add up. That's just gonna be something that you
- 6:21Speaker 1: have to be keeping an eye on here as we
- 6:23Speaker 1: move forward in the seat. And when Brady did tweet
- 6:26Speaker 1: that he was getting some in your words, TV twelve
- 6:28Speaker 1: on that elbow, he did tag TV twelve official account
- 6:33Speaker 1: on the Twitter here, of course he did. Meantime, he
- 6:36Speaker 1: and the Giants are taking the three in one record
- 6:39Speaker 1: to London. We're getting some somewhat encouraging news on their
- 6:43Speaker 1: quarterback situation for Sunday. What do we know? First of all,
- 6:47Speaker 1: they're taking both quarterbacks in London, so uh, obviously Daniel
- 6:51Speaker 1: Jones is where the focus lies. With the fact that
- 6:53Speaker 1: Tyrod Taylor, the backup quarterback, still in the concussion protocol,
- 6:56Speaker 1: the fact that he's making the trip is at least
- 6:59Speaker 1: indication he's got somewhat of a chance to play. We'll
- 7:02Speaker 1: see if it's Davis web or if it's Tyrod Taylor,
- 7:04Speaker 1: but anel Jones is obviously the headline. And you know
- 7:07Speaker 1: the fact that they report encouraging progress at practice, the
- 7:10Speaker 1: fact that he worked out yesterday at a limited basis
- 7:13Speaker 1: and came out of it. No worse for wear, really
- 7:16Speaker 1: didn't have any setbacks. Still, it seems like going as
- 7:19Speaker 1: well as they have wanted, as well as they had hoped.
- 7:22Speaker 1: It's all good for the Giants and and for Daniel Jones.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And look, my understanding earlier this week was that they
- 7:28Speaker 1: were optimistic that he'd be able to play in this
- 7:30Speaker 1: Ancho Sprain. Nothing has changed at it seems that, however
- 7:34Speaker 1: close to he is, it seems that he'll be out
- 7:37Speaker 1: there for the Giants. Okay, if they take on the Packers,
- 7:39Speaker 1: a couple of three and one teams the Totten the
- 7:41Speaker 1: pot Spur Stadium. We are live in London, coming up shortly.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Thank you Ian, Thank you tom Oh. Yeah, it's some
- 7:48Speaker 1: horseplay tonight. Got a couple of horses, got the Colts
- 7:53Speaker 1: and got the Broncos. Uh. It is week five with
- 7:58Speaker 1: the quarterbacks Tonight Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan. James Palmer,
- 8:02Speaker 1: who was sitting at this very desk with us yes
- 8:05Speaker 1: terday live now in Denver, Adham Power. Last time these
- 8:09Speaker 1: two teams faced each other, it was Week A twenty nineteen.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Who was in Indie James looked it up. It was
- 8:14Speaker 1: Joe Flacco and Jacoby Brissette. Times have changed a bit, Yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 1: they have, Andrew, How similar are both these teams going
- 8:22Speaker 1: at it on this field behind me tonight? Right? They
- 8:24Speaker 1: both in the off season make a trade for a
- 8:26Speaker 1: veteran quarterback, you could say, a potential Hall of Fame
- 8:29Speaker 1: quarterback to boast up their offense, and it hasn't gone
- 8:32Speaker 1: well for both of them. Look at Matt Ryan sacked
- 8:35Speaker 1: more times and turned the football over more in the
- 8:37Speaker 1: first four games than any season in his fifteen year career.
- 8:41Speaker 1: You look at Russell Wilson, he has the lowest passer rating,
- 8:44Speaker 1: He is the lowest completion percentage of his NFL career.
- 8:48Speaker 1: And with that Broncos offense. When I talked to people
- 8:50Speaker 1: in the building this week, really the phrase that was
- 8:53Speaker 1: being used was self inflicted wounds, specifically on first and
- 8:57Speaker 1: second down. Whether it's penalties, which they lead the NFL,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and whether it's a sack or or a table for
- 9:02Speaker 1: loss or a run that didn't work out, they're getting
- 9:04Speaker 1: themselves behind the sticks and that's where they have to
- 9:06Speaker 1: go to a portion of their play sheet. And Andrew,
- 9:08Speaker 1: I'm not joking about this. Their gbt O plays there,
- 9:11Speaker 1: get back on track plays they've been having to go
- 9:14Speaker 1: to that portion, use those to try to get these
- 9:16Speaker 1: drives back up and running, because on third down they're
- 9:19Speaker 1: not very good. They ranked twenty three in the NFL.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But the interesting part about it is Russell Wilson has
- 9:23Speaker 1: thrown for more yards on third down than any quarterback
- 9:26Speaker 1: in the NFL. Hence why they're playing behind the sticks
- 9:29Speaker 1: so frequently. So they feel if they correct some of
- 9:31Speaker 1: these issues, they can get this offense up and moving.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But Russell Wilson also dealing with a little bit of
- 9:38Speaker 1: shoulder sore nows in that right shoulder, obviously in practice
- 9:40Speaker 1: this week, but I talked it to people this morning.
- 9:42Speaker 1: He is good to go, but something to keep an
- 9:44Speaker 1: eye on tonight. Something to keep an eye on tonight
- 9:46Speaker 1: in Denver as we open up here week number five,
- 9:49Speaker 1: the Broncos in prime time yet again. James Palmer back
- 9:52Speaker 1: with us a little bit later, Thank you. James. Are
- 9:54Speaker 1: hustling back to Denver after working yesterday. The Packers flag
- 9:58Speaker 1: flying at St. Andrew's maybe and do the math there
- 10:03Speaker 1: an eight hour drive I from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where
- 10:07Speaker 1: the Giants are gonna have to deal with Aaron Rodgers
- 10:09Speaker 1: on Sunday, some of the challenges that kind of present
- 10:14Speaker 1: themselves in terms of facing the Giants, UH, specifically on
- 10:19Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball. Wink does a great
- 10:22Speaker 1: job of giving you a ton of different looks, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: you never are quite sure what you're going to get.
- 10:28Speaker 1: He's he just does a good job of game planning
- 10:31Speaker 1: you and presenting a lot of challenging looks, so you
- 10:36Speaker 1: can never get enough work really on on all the
- 10:39Speaker 1: different things that you may get. That is Matt Lafleur.
- 10:43Speaker 1: They're speaking of Wink Martindale, the new Giants defensive coordinator,
- 10:47Speaker 1: formerly of the Ravens in her his first year now
- 10:49Speaker 1: with a three and one team high. They're Stacy Dale's live.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I believe that's Kensington Palace in the background. How the
- 10:56Speaker 1: Giants getting ready for Aaron Rodgers. You know the hotspots here? Andrew,
- 11:02Speaker 1: well done. Actually, Princess the Great Princess Diana, the late
- 11:05Speaker 1: Great Princes Stan actually lived here once. Katon William This
- 11:08Speaker 1: is Royalty behind us. Uh, listen, just before we get
- 11:12Speaker 1: to Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones practicing today. That is important.
- 11:16Speaker 1: That makes the second straight day in which he's been
- 11:18Speaker 1: limited at least getting those raps. So again, all signs
- 11:21Speaker 1: point towards possibly him playing to Rodd Taylor again, still
- 11:24Speaker 1: in that concussion protocol. As for this Wink Martindale defense,
- 11:27Speaker 1: how about a forty two blitz rate. It is second
- 11:31Speaker 1: in the NFL, so that's what Aaron Rodgers will be
- 11:33Speaker 1: dealing with. But listen, it is Aaron Rodgers. This is
- 11:36Speaker 1: a Hall of Fame quarterback, and the New York Giants
- 11:39Speaker 1: know very well of that. I talked to Xavier McKinney
- 11:42Speaker 1: starting safety with this defense, and he told me, listen,
- 11:46Speaker 1: as much as you can try the idea of confusing
- 11:49Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers, that's the objective. It's not easy to do
- 11:52Speaker 1: a lot of disguise they're gonna try to give him,
- 11:54Speaker 1: which is very typical of a Wink Martindale defense. But
- 11:58Speaker 1: above all, don't overthink it. This is important. Davier McKinney
- 12:03Speaker 1: telling me, hey, last year we played Tom Brady and
- 12:05Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he said to me, he
- 12:09Speaker 1: kind of beat us before we stepped on the field
- 12:11Speaker 1: because of that Hall of Fame mystique. So don't overthink it,
- 12:15Speaker 1: meaning just understand, if you trust in the preparation and
- 12:19Speaker 1: execute and follow coach. Hey, you can get good results.
- 12:23Speaker 1: So they're gonna come in with a plan. But Aaron
- 12:25Speaker 1: Rodgers first trip here, he is going to be amped
- 12:28Speaker 1: up for this sold out game on Sunday. Yeah, Roger
- 12:30Speaker 1: says he'd actually appreciate a little time to do some
- 12:33Speaker 1: sight seeing and head to a pub and get a
- 12:35Speaker 1: pint and all that. Don't know if he is going
- 12:38Speaker 1: to get a chance to work that in on the
- 12:40Speaker 1: other side of those days. How about the injuries for
- 12:42Speaker 1: the Packers, specifically in the secondary. How are they looking.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I think they're looking actually better than we thought they
- 12:49Speaker 1: might look. Jay Alexander is for the second straight day
- 12:52Speaker 1: back on the practice field. He missed the Patriots game
- 12:55Speaker 1: this past week, a win for the Packers because of
- 12:58Speaker 1: that groin injury. That is a good sign. Adrian Amos,
- 13:01Speaker 1: who has been going through the concussion protocol, really the
- 13:04Speaker 1: leader of that sect, and Darry the hard hitting safety.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Uh all signs point towards him returning because he's on
- 13:09Speaker 1: the practice field today. So this is all really good news.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Because guess what, Andrew, they're gonna face Sae Kwon Barkley.
- 13:15Speaker 1: You're gonna hear me talk about it all week right now,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and Joe Barry, the defensive coordinator and company know it.
- 13:21Speaker 1: He is the best running back in football. There is
- 13:24Speaker 1: no team averaging more yards per game on the ground
- 13:27Speaker 1: than the New York Football Giants. Has become their mantra inside, outside,
- 13:31Speaker 1: every which way you want to look at it. Barry
- 13:34Speaker 1: understands everything starts and ends with Sa Kwon Barkley, and
- 13:39Speaker 1: especially if Daniel Jones is banged up and does play
- 13:42Speaker 1: with that ankle injury that left ankle sprain, will he
- 13:46Speaker 1: be the mobile guy we know of him, maybe even
- 13:49Speaker 1: a bigger load for Sae Kwon Barkley. K Barkley leading
- 13:52Speaker 1: the league and rushing after four weeks by a full
- 13:54Speaker 1: three yards over Nicholas Jamal Chub and he's taking the
- 13:59Speaker 1: Giants there to London. Thank you. Stacy Dale's live outside
- 14:02Speaker 1: Kensington Palace and full disclosure she told me during the
- 14:05Speaker 1: commercial where she was I may or may not have
- 14:08Speaker 1: been able to get it on the fly. Giants Packers,
- 14:11Speaker 1: nine thirty Eastern time, Sunday Morning Football on NFL Network,
- 14:17Speaker 1: on NFL Plus and NFL Game Day kickoff is at
- 14:21Speaker 1: seven up early Join us, please we beg of you.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Coming up next dak is not ready Cooper Rush is
- 14:31Speaker 1: what does he have in store for the Rams on Sunday?
- 14:34Speaker 1: We'll ask another former Cowboy quarterback. Nothing can stop me.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Look right here, let's go text down Stafford fe Ay
- 14:57Speaker 1: Rob for the touchdown, rushed out, runs, sack gets career sacked,
- 15:05Speaker 1: one hundred plea catch, Anderson squeezes through on bunch He
- 15:11Speaker 1: dog Cooper Cofred that should be six. Pitt Is intercepted.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Jalen Ramsey called game Cowboys with never a doubt, never
- 15:25Speaker 1: a doubt. Also not a doubt that we might see
- 15:27Speaker 1: these two teams maybe again in the postseason. This guy
- 15:31Speaker 1: will be calling the games Sunday here at so five
- 15:33Speaker 1: state him in a subsequent game because he's been doing
- 15:35Speaker 1: it for twenty seven years. Former Cowboy quarterback Babe Laffenburg.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Great to have your good morning, Andrew, good morning, Thank
- 15:42Speaker 1: you for having me. So let's just call it now.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I'm kind of sick of the daily doctor updates from Dallas.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Here it's gonna be Cooper Rush right and with as
- 15:51Speaker 1: well as he is playing, I am not in the well.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Maybe he should start above dock crowd. Why is there
- 15:57Speaker 1: such a rush to breathlessly report on Dax Thumb and
- 16:03Speaker 1: if maybe he could be back this week. I honestly
- 16:07Speaker 1: have no idea, and to be quite honest, I don't.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I don't really pay attention. We're gonna call the game,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and whoever's out there playing quarterback, we'll call it with
- 16:15Speaker 1: that player. The interesting thing Andrew to me about the
- 16:19Speaker 1: dark timetable that's come out, Doctors owner, whoever. Um, there's
- 16:25Speaker 1: only one thing that's going to determine when Dak Prescott returns,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and that's right here. It's thumb. So when he can
- 16:32Speaker 1: grip a ball and he can throw it, he'll be
- 16:34Speaker 1: back until that time. Let's all enjoy Cooper Rush Baby.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Can can you ever imagine a world where, let's say,
- 16:42Speaker 1: Mike Tomlin, let's go back to Mike tom Win. On Tuesday,
- 16:45Speaker 1: reporter asked a question, Hey, um, Calvin Austin is due
- 16:50Speaker 1: to come off i R this week potentially, how's he looking?
- 16:55Speaker 1: And his response was He's due to come off IR
- 16:57Speaker 1: this week, and that was it. Do you guys like
- 17:01Speaker 1: kind of yearn for that kind of world where there
- 17:03Speaker 1: isn't a daily update? But I would say most of
- 17:06Speaker 1: them don't because they the reporters here kind of hang
- 17:09Speaker 1: on every word that the owner says. Uh, And quite honestly,
- 17:14Speaker 1: it keeps the Cowboys in the forefront of discussion, just
- 17:17Speaker 1: like we're discussing today. I think most teams would say,
- 17:21Speaker 1: here's my quarterback, we'll go with him. We'll let you
- 17:23Speaker 1: know when the other guy is ready to play. But
- 17:25Speaker 1: that doesn't happen here, all right, So tell me what
- 17:28Speaker 1: you think, Cooper Rush looks like Sunday afternoon at one
- 17:32Speaker 1: o'clock local against a Rams defense that had its moments, obviously,
- 17:38Speaker 1: but not enough of them Monday night. Well, it's still
- 17:42Speaker 1: a very good defense. Obviously. They have Hall of Fame
- 17:45Speaker 1: players on three levels. With Aaron Donald, Bobby Wagner in
- 17:49Speaker 1: the corner, m Jalen Ramsey's probably the best corner. I
- 17:54Speaker 1: think we'd all agree that Aaron Donald is the best
- 17:57Speaker 1: defensive lineman in the NFL. So when you got that
- 18:00Speaker 1: combination going and then Bobby Wagner in the middle calling
- 18:03Speaker 1: things out, it's always gonna be a difficult day. Uh.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Cooper Russell has been great. Hey, He's had only one
- 18:08Speaker 1: turnover in his three starts, has not fumbled the ball,
- 18:11Speaker 1: had the one interception, and the big thing to me Andrew.
- 18:14Speaker 1: The old saying is you can't miss touchdowns, and Cooper
- 18:18Speaker 1: Rush has not missed touchdowns. When he's had a guy open,
- 18:22Speaker 1: he's delivered the ball and he's done a great job.
- 18:25Speaker 1: And I always hate the word or the term I
- 18:27Speaker 1: should say bus driver um because it really belittles what
- 18:32Speaker 1: he has done. Um. And he's been effective. They've obviously
- 18:36Speaker 1: won his three starts. I don't think anybody anticipated that.
- 18:39Speaker 1: And I'll go back to the opener against Tampa Bay,
- 18:42Speaker 1: the game that Dak Prescott did start and played all
- 18:45Speaker 1: the way into the fourth quarter before he had that
- 18:48Speaker 1: thumb injury. They looked awful. So there there was definitely
- 18:51Speaker 1: doom and gloom here when they lost to Tampa. Uh,
- 18:54Speaker 1: they were terrible on offense. They played good defense. But
- 18:57Speaker 1: after that he said, Okay, we we looked awful and
- 19:00Speaker 1: we just lost our starting quarterback. And what has happened.
- 19:04Speaker 1: They've won three in a row. You mentioned Aaron Donald there.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Obviously we know what the Cowboys pass rush has done
- 19:10Speaker 1: best in the league. Going up against a very banged
- 19:14Speaker 1: up Rams offensive line this coming Sunday, I know I
- 19:18Speaker 1: know that Micah kind of sort of wants to be
- 19:20Speaker 1: in the Aaron Donald conversation. One day Jerry is intimated
- 19:23Speaker 1: as much that he could see it. Do you see
- 19:26Speaker 1: that possibly one day? Baby? Oh? No question. Um. What
- 19:30Speaker 1: Michael Parson's has done is is really off the charts. Um.
- 19:35Speaker 1: He was a strong candidate last year for Defensive Player
- 19:39Speaker 1: of the Year. He was a defensive Rookie of the
- 19:40Speaker 1: Year in the Landslide obviously, but he's just been fantastic.
- 19:44Speaker 1: You can't underestimate. Also, I think what dan Quinn has
- 19:48Speaker 1: done in his utilization of Michael Parsons. Uh. Dan Quinn
- 19:51Speaker 1: of course Cowboys defensive coordinator. So so they're a handful.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I kind of I don't want to say a pity
- 19:58Speaker 1: the Rams, like clever laying a pity the fool you're
- 20:03Speaker 1: coming up against a pass rush as has been phenomenal
- 20:07Speaker 1: in the first four games of the season here for
- 20:09Speaker 1: the Cowboys, and as you mentioned, Rams are a decimated
- 20:12Speaker 1: offensive line. I will say Kevin Carberry one of the
- 20:15Speaker 1: best in the business. Rams pime coach, so he will
- 20:18Speaker 1: have something scheme up for the Cowboys, but you can
- 20:22Speaker 1: only scheme so much. Eventually becomes one on one matchups
- 20:26Speaker 1: and the Cowboys have won a lot of those one
- 20:27Speaker 1: on one matchups across that defensive front. This year, Rams
- 20:31Speaker 1: on Monday Night played the majority of the game with
- 20:33Speaker 1: their second left guard, their third center, and their fourth
- 20:37Speaker 1: right guard. Remains to be seen. If David Edwards can
- 20:39Speaker 1: get through concussion and protocol, maybe they get left guard back,
- 20:42Speaker 1: but still trying to figure out center and right guard
- 20:44Speaker 1: against a defense that has been bringing it weekend and
- 20:47Speaker 1: week out. Babel Offenberg, it's always great to have you on.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Travel safely see a Sunday here in l A. Andrew,
- 20:53Speaker 1: thank you very much. I appreciate it. In l A
- 20:55Speaker 1: is my hometown, so we'll see some family out there.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Welcome home, man, Welcome home to a Rams team that's
- 21:02Speaker 1: trying to figure out how to get the offense going. Look,
- 21:05Speaker 1: the old line is an issue of the injuries. You
- 21:08Speaker 1: can't say it's the only issue. They have played nine
- 21:10Speaker 1: old lineman already through four games, but for the second
- 21:13Speaker 1: time in four games they're held under ten and then
- 21:15Speaker 1: oh yeah, Sean, the Cowboys are coming with that defense. Obviously,
- 21:21Speaker 1: when you look at them defensively, they've got excellent players
- 21:24Speaker 1: coming off the edge. I think they're really aggressive on
- 21:26Speaker 1: all three levels. They've got great speed, I think coach
- 21:28Speaker 1: Quinn does a great job mixing it up. And then offensively,
- 21:31Speaker 1: I've been really impressed, you know, I've I got tremendous
- 21:33Speaker 1: respect for Dak Prescott and what he's been able to do.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And then obviously Cooper Rush stepping in, um being able
- 21:38Speaker 1: to get both those backs going. You've seen Ceedee Lamb
- 21:41Speaker 1: make a lot of plays. Um, I think Kellen has
- 21:44Speaker 1: done an excellent job being able to mix it up
- 21:46Speaker 1: and kind of play to their strengths. And then Bones
- 21:48Speaker 1: always does a great job on special teams. So this
- 21:50Speaker 1: is a really good football team that's got a three
- 21:52Speaker 1: game win streak, and um, we gotta be ready to go.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I gotta be ready to go with an offense that
- 21:57Speaker 1: seemingly was not ready to go against the league's number
- 22:00Speaker 1: one defense. And Monday night that would be the forty Niners.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Now they get the Cowboys. This is KAYLEB Burton Either
- 22:05Speaker 1: Hay covered the Ramps for us this week. How does
- 22:07Speaker 1: that offense turn the corner now against a very good
- 22:10Speaker 1: defense on a short week. Well, Andrew, as you mentioned,
- 22:13Speaker 1: it starts with the on line. But do you remember
- 22:14Speaker 1: the last time I was up here on this desk?
- 22:16Speaker 1: I actually talked about the old line in Week one
- 22:19Speaker 1: because how many times in Matthew Stafford gets sacked against
- 22:22Speaker 1: the Bills. I want to say seven, Lakwan is at
- 22:24Speaker 1: seven seven. It's seven seven times. We're back up here
- 22:29Speaker 1: on this desk talking about Matthew Stafford being sacked again
- 22:32Speaker 1: seven times, and a big part of it has to
- 22:35Speaker 1: do with this offensive line. They have rotated through so
- 22:37Speaker 1: many different moving parts. As Andrew just mentioned, I think
- 22:41Speaker 1: back to their first round pick Logan Russ, who's not
- 22:44Speaker 1: able to play this season. So and then they of
- 22:46Speaker 1: course center Brian Allen has been out with a knee injury.
- 22:50Speaker 1: He is trending in a positive direction, could be back
- 22:52Speaker 1: in the next couple of weeks. Uh. And then they
- 22:55Speaker 1: went from Tremaine Acram Coleman Shelton had to move over
- 22:58Speaker 1: towards center. He's now out for four to six weeks
- 23:01Speaker 1: with a high ankle sprain, and David Edwards also not
- 23:04Speaker 1: in the picture. Just on Monday. He is trending in
- 23:06Speaker 1: a better direction, feeling a lot healthier as well. But
- 23:09Speaker 1: right now Matthew Stafford has to play with different backups,
- 23:12Speaker 1: including Aleric Jackson as well as center Jeremiah Cologne, and
- 23:16Speaker 1: I asked Matthew Stafford, how do you handle all of
- 23:19Speaker 1: the moving parts? And he said two things. One communicating
- 23:22Speaker 1: with the offense. And I'll tell you this. When Colone
- 23:24Speaker 1: went in the game on Monday, he got in his
- 23:27Speaker 1: era and he said, I'm going to be in your
- 23:29Speaker 1: ear all night. He understands that he hasn't been on
- 23:32Speaker 1: the plane field at all with him. This is really
- 23:34Speaker 1: their first full week of practice, not even full week
- 23:36Speaker 1: of practice together, and they got a lot coming their
- 23:38Speaker 1: way against the Cowboys defense. There's also a chance Matt Skura,
- 23:41Speaker 1: the former raven could be up in the practice squad
- 23:43Speaker 1: as well as a veteran backup. Either way, the Ramps
- 23:45Speaker 1: have to fix that against the Cowboys defense with Michael Parsons.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Thank you, Caleb. Haven't really talk much Bengals Ravens yet
- 23:54Speaker 1: on NBC Football Night in America, but we will. That's
- 23:59Speaker 1: coming up next on NFL Now on a game day
- 24:01Speaker 1: here on NFL Network. Head, I've gotten you're watching NFL
- 24:10Speaker 1: now NFL Network. Here is a Cincinnati Bengals tweet of
- 24:13Speaker 1: their quarterback. He's pretty good. He's also really good against
- 24:16Speaker 1: the Ravens last year in two games against the Ravens
- 24:20Speaker 1: nine hundred and forty one yards passing. I think that's good.
- 24:28Speaker 1: You got protect the ball, and there's the main thing.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I know. I said that every game, but they I
- 24:34Speaker 1: think they leave the league in turnovers right now with
- 24:36Speaker 1: ten and so if we can limit those turnovers, I
- 24:39Speaker 1: think we'll be able to move the ball up and
- 24:40Speaker 1: down the field. Um. They do a great job of
- 24:43Speaker 1: getting pressure, getting tips of the line of scrimmage and
- 24:46Speaker 1: capitalizing on those opportunities. So we're gonna have to protect
- 24:49Speaker 1: the ball around the ball well. And you know, I
- 24:52Speaker 1: can't get behind like we did in the first two games.
- 24:54Speaker 1: So last year, guys, Baldy, Mark Ross, it was Wink
- 24:58Speaker 1: Martindale and he said before one of the Borough games,
- 25:01Speaker 1: I'm not ready to give him a gold jacket yet,
- 25:03Speaker 1: and Burrow put up in two It is nine and
- 25:06Speaker 1: forty one yards most ever by one quarterback against one
- 25:09Speaker 1: team in one season. This year, though, Baldy, it's Mike
- 25:12Speaker 1: McDonald calling the defense, and they've given up two huge
- 25:16Speaker 1: fourth quarter leads. Yeah, they have, and they run into
- 25:21Speaker 1: hot quarterbacks in twa and last week with Josh Allen.
- 25:24Speaker 1: They've been out scored forty three to nine in the
- 25:26Speaker 1: fourth quarter. It's really a combination of things because, like
- 25:29Speaker 1: Joe Burrow explained, they got ten takeaways. They do a
- 25:31Speaker 1: lot of good things. But if you go back to
- 25:33Speaker 1: just the Miami game Week two, like you know, down
- 25:36Speaker 1: at the bottom here, they've got a disguised Cover two. Look,
- 25:39Speaker 1: they're gonna blitz. So it's gonna be a rotation to
- 25:41Speaker 1: a Cover one basically man and man coverage. Kyle Hamilt
- 25:44Speaker 1: changed the rookie. He's also a free safety and his
- 25:47Speaker 1: number one rule is don't let anybody get behind you.
- 25:50Speaker 1: And tyrock Hill runs right past him. So they've got
- 25:53Speaker 1: some young players and key spots, uh you know that
- 25:56Speaker 1: have to learn the game, and you make mistakes, you
- 25:58Speaker 1: learn from the mistakes. But you know, also at fourth
- 26:02Speaker 1: quarter they got Jalen Armor Davis, you know, a rookie,
- 26:05Speaker 1: and they're gonna show blitzero look back out. They don't
- 26:08Speaker 1: give any help to Jalen Armor Davis. They flogged the
- 26:12Speaker 1: other side of the field although he thinks he's supposed
- 26:14Speaker 1: to get help, and so tyrenk Kale runs by him
- 26:17Speaker 1: for sixty So they run into some hot quarterbacks and
- 26:19Speaker 1: they've broken down in the back end. You break down
- 26:22Speaker 1: the back end, you give up six points. This is
- 26:24Speaker 1: fourth and one. There's a chance for stock. They're taking
- 26:26Speaker 1: the quarterback step away. They got Josh Allen out in
- 26:29Speaker 1: the primer. They've got athletes out there. There's all way
- 26:32Speaker 1: right there. He runs past him to get Paul and
- 26:34Speaker 1: Humphrey jumping up in the air. You have a chance
- 26:36Speaker 1: for a stop on fourth and one, and Josh Allen
- 26:39Speaker 1: slides in the second base for a first down. So
- 26:42Speaker 1: you get a situation here all right. Late in the game,
- 26:46Speaker 1: here comes digs across the formation. Right here you can
- 26:48Speaker 1: see Peters and Chuck Clark are talking to each other.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Is it a banjo? Is it? Man? What is it?
- 26:53Speaker 1: For a brief second here they both look like they're
- 26:55Speaker 1: taking digs and Josh Allen they got out Josh. I
- 26:59Speaker 1: mean here he is. He hits the north gosson knock
- 27:01Speaker 1: for twenty yards and then to get into field goal
- 27:04Speaker 1: range for the game. When he field goal, they got
- 27:06Speaker 1: exactly what they wanted. They got Josh down right there
- 27:08Speaker 1: in the They got corral and they get out Joshed again.
- 27:12Speaker 1: It gets outside the pocket gets away from him right here.
- 27:15Speaker 1: You got kind of reverses field, finds receiver on the
- 27:17Speaker 1: other side of the field, picks up enough yards get
- 27:19Speaker 1: the field goal range. Their quarterbacks that they've seen have
- 27:23Speaker 1: been better than them in the fourth quarter this year,
- 27:25Speaker 1: and they're two losses and they're gonna see Joe Burrow
- 27:27Speaker 1: this week. You just mentioned all the stats from a
- 27:30Speaker 1: year ago. They know what you Borrow could do. They
- 27:32Speaker 1: gotta be better against these quarterbacks. Uh in t spots. Yeah, Baldy.
- 27:38Speaker 1: You mentioned the breakdowns in their secondary and going against Burrow,
- 27:42Speaker 1: who's five and oh against bottom five teams in his career,
- 27:46Speaker 1: against passing bottom five passing teams in the league, and
- 27:49Speaker 1: obviously the success he's already had with the Ravens, and
- 27:52Speaker 1: the problem is not just the breakdowns and the lack
- 27:55Speaker 1: of communication, but then if the Ravens blitz and go. Man,
- 27:59Speaker 1: you know, you look at all we got Marlin and
- 28:00Speaker 1: Humphrey and Marcus Peters who can shut down most receivers.
- 28:03Speaker 1: But when you're looking at mar Chase and Tee Higgins
- 28:06Speaker 1: and Tyler Boyd, I'm taking those receivers over those guys,
- 28:10Speaker 1: you know, just about ninety percent of the time. So
- 28:12Speaker 1: you've got Burrow been efficient, effective and his playmakers. Any
- 28:15Speaker 1: one of those three could break the game open. So
- 28:17Speaker 1: this is a bad matchup, I think for the Ravens
- 28:20Speaker 1: defense going against Burrow and the prolific UH Bengals offensive
- 28:24Speaker 1: playmakers coming up later. NFL Fantasy Live reminds you to
- 28:27Speaker 1: start Joe Burrow. Thank you Mark, and thank you Baldy.
