- 0:00Speaker 1: Chris Daily has joined us. I was wondering if you
- 0:02Speaker 1: might see family here tonight.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I have something. Actually my niece goes to school here.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Oh nice.
- 0:07Speaker 1: So but yeah, all right, well, I know Coach was
- 0:11Speaker 1: not happy at the half through his chat on s
- 0:14Speaker 1: n Y and Wino transcribing the conversation, but man, you
- 0:17Speaker 1: got effort on the boards in the second half, that's
- 0:19Speaker 1: for sure.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, one of the hardest games, you know,
- 0:24Speaker 3: actually the two hardest games.
- 0:26Speaker 2: And Coach had talked about this with the players.
- 0:28Speaker 3: The game before was considered a big game in the
- 0:31Speaker 3: game after whether you win it or lose it, both
- 0:34Speaker 3: are dangerous, you know, going into the game, and then
- 0:37Speaker 3: after I thought we did a lot of good things.
- 0:41Speaker 3: We had too many turners, but we shot the ball
- 0:43Speaker 3: when we did get shots. I mean our percent shooting
- 0:45Speaker 3: percentagers in the sixties.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I think.
- 0:47Speaker 3: So it just wasn't as connected as it was on Sunday.
- 0:52Speaker 1: That would that would be hard to do this.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Well, but that's the goal, you know, the goal is
- 0:57Speaker 3: you know, it doesn't have to be exactly like it,
- 0:59Speaker 3: but there has to and sometimes you can be connected
- 1:03Speaker 3: and just misshots. But that doesn't you know, mean that
- 1:05Speaker 3: you weren't connected. We just were a little disjointed. Some
- 1:08Speaker 3: of it had to do with Seaton Hall, though you know,
- 1:10Speaker 3: our defense was terrific. They only had twenty six points
- 1:13Speaker 3: at halftime, so and we had forty one, and we
- 1:15Speaker 3: didn't play wells and you know, we had some foul trouble.
- 1:18Speaker 3: It's just kind of the way it looked and felt
- 1:20Speaker 3: that was different.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So, you know, I thought about you when that second quarter,
- 1:24Speaker 1: what was it, three minutes and they had fourteen files
- 1:26Speaker 1: and they didn't commit a file for the rest of
- 1:28Speaker 1: the quarter. I thought of you for a minute. For
- 1:31Speaker 1: a couple of games ago. Was that Saint John's where
- 1:33Speaker 1: you got a bunch of files in the third water Yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Well, and actually the third quarter today we
- 1:38Speaker 3: outscored them significantly, and we've had with a big lead
- 1:42Speaker 3: going into the third quarter sometimes we haven't, although the
- 1:45Speaker 3: last two games South Carolina.
- 1:46Speaker 2: In this game we outscored them, so that was positive.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Aubrey comes off the bench and saw a little bit
- 1:54Speaker 4: again of you went to a full court press where
- 1:57Speaker 4: she's on the top of the inbounder there and to
- 2:00Speaker 4: have a way of just causing some havoc.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Well, you know, if we could play at Seaton Hall.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I don't know that anyone else, you know, plays as
- 2:08Speaker 3: well in this particular places as Aubrey does.
- 2:10Speaker 2: That's true.
- 2:11Speaker 3: She's had some big games here and this was a
- 2:13Speaker 3: good game for it, you know, to play that many
- 2:16Speaker 3: minutes in a row, and to play well and really
- 2:18Speaker 3: kind of start to look more like herself in terms
- 2:20Speaker 3: of her drives and the rebounding and you know, it's
- 2:24Speaker 3: it's a process.
- 2:25Speaker 2: So she I was happy for her, you.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Know, she and Hall really made a concerted effort to
- 2:29Speaker 1: get on easy fud tonight. But Caitlyn Chen was productive,
- 2:32Speaker 1: Ashlyn Shade. They were both very efficient in they're shooting,
- 2:35Speaker 1: and of course Aubrey has the night that she has.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought Caitlyn Chen started out, you know, she
- 2:39Speaker 3: made some shots early in the game when we didn't
- 2:41Speaker 3: look we were still, you know, trying to figure out
- 2:44Speaker 3: some stuff.
- 2:44Speaker 2: But I thought Caitlyn played well.
- 2:48Speaker 3: You know, again, we try not to judge whether you
- 2:50Speaker 3: just because you make shots or don't make shots, that's
- 2:52Speaker 3: not whether you play well. So they I don't know
- 2:57Speaker 3: how much I have to watch the film. I don't
- 2:59Speaker 3: know how much of it was what they did or
- 3:02Speaker 3: what we did and not helping, you know, using ball
- 3:05Speaker 3: screens like we had.
- 3:06Speaker 2: We had four offensive fouls with moving screens. You know,
- 3:10Speaker 2: just a lot of stuff.
- 3:11Speaker 3: But I have to watch, you know, maybe more of
- 3:13Speaker 3: it on film to get a better idea of whether
- 3:15Speaker 3: it was us or them that caused some of the problem.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Right, And I think that's some of the things we
- 3:22Speaker 4: were as the game is going on. It was slow start,
- 3:25Speaker 4: yet they played what they played they did. The numbers
- 3:27Speaker 4: looked good, and then it was you know, it's kind
- 3:29Speaker 4: of like, well, hey, they're ten to fifteen and they
- 3:31Speaker 4: caused this many turnovers. But is it because all of
- 3:34Speaker 4: a sudden, hey you've seen what they can do when
- 3:36Speaker 4: it's all clicking, and that that's kind of where it goes.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Or is it just you all coaches you see it
- 3:42Speaker 4: through a different lens and being.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Like, oh, gosh, we didn't do this, this and this.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Well, your expectation changes, you know, and certainly at this
- 3:48Speaker 3: time of the season, the players, the team, the coaches
- 3:53Speaker 3: shouldn't have every right to expect us to play at
- 3:56Speaker 3: a certain level.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And when we don't, it's okay to be disappointed.
- 4:00Speaker 3: We didn't stop playing, we didn't stop doing the things
- 4:02Speaker 3: that were that we wanted to try to do. Uh,
- 4:05Speaker 3: but you know, now we have you know, we've always
- 4:07Speaker 3: had a high standard and trying to reach out every day.
- 4:10Speaker 3: It's a challenge and this you know, we we've had
- 4:12Speaker 3: what four so we still have one more road game.
- 4:15Speaker 3: So this is our third road game in a row.
- 4:18Speaker 3: So that's not easy. We're going to get back on
- 4:20Speaker 3: a bus tonight and get home late and and we
- 4:23Speaker 3: have we have to finish the road games off on
- 4:25Speaker 3: Saturday in a tough place.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You know, Butler plays really well.
- 4:28Speaker 3: They they make you after work and run, you know,
- 4:31Speaker 3: they run their stuff. He's a really good offensive coach
- 4:33Speaker 3: and so it's going to be a challenge on Saturday.
- 4:37Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on page in a rebounding Where
- 4:39Speaker 1: have you seen that that improve lately?
- 4:41Speaker 3: Well, I think it's more positionally last year she rebounded
- 4:44Speaker 3: when she when we go with our small lineup and
- 4:46Speaker 3: she's the four.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I think we talked a lot about that.
- 4:49Speaker 3: It creates problems, some problems for us from a size standpoint.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I think I saw something on social media where Joyce
- 4:55Speaker 3: Edwards was pointing like, look who's guarding me and they
- 4:58Speaker 3: didn't throw the ball in the post. But I think
- 5:00Speaker 3: because of where she's playing, she's getting, you know, some
- 5:04Speaker 3: more rebounds.
- 5:06Speaker 2: But she's a good rebounder so that, you know, we
- 5:09Speaker 2: need her to do that.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I want her to get a double double, but she
- 5:11Speaker 3: only finished with nine.
- 5:14Speaker 1: But yeah, I think she's.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Doing anything different.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I think maybe it's positionally where she is now on
- 5:20Speaker 3: the floor, maybe a little bit closer to the basket.
- 5:22Speaker 3: But a lot of times, like against South Carolina, our
- 5:25Speaker 3: big eyes were boxing out. Everybody's boxing out, and that
- 5:27Speaker 3: makes your guards are gonna get a lot more rebounds.
- 5:30Speaker 2: So that's probably part of it as well.
- 5:32Speaker 1: All Right, save travels well on the plane Friday. Thank you,
- 5:35Speaker 1: all right, Last Roadie of the year. Finally for the
- 5:38Speaker 1: Huskies as they take your business. Ninety one forty nine
