• 0:02
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, April 23rd.
• 0:11
Strength and stillness. Sometimes the strongest thing
• 0:14
you can do is pause. Not react, not defend yourself
• 0:17
immediately, not let anger or anxiety take the steering wheel.
• 0:23
Proverbs chapter 14 verse 29 says whoever is slow to anger
• 0:27
has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts
• 0:31
folly. In a world that rewards quick
• 0:33
reactions. God teaches us the strength of
• 0:36
self-control. Psalm 46 verse 10 says be still
• 0:41
and know that I am God. Stillness is not weakness, it is
• 0:44
trust. It is choosing to remember that
• 0:47
God is God even when your emotions are loud and your
• 0:51
circumstances feel chaotic. Romans Chapter 7 verses 22 to 23
• 0:57
reminds us that even Paul knew the struggle of wanting what is
• 1:00
right while feeling another battle inside.
• 1:03
That inner battle is real. You may want to be patient but
• 1:07
still snap. You may want to trust God but
• 1:10
still panic. You may want to do what is right
• 1:12
but feel pulled the other way. God is not surprised by that
• 1:16
struggle. He meets you in it.
• 1:19
Being still does not mean ignoring problems.
• 1:22
It means refusing to let the problem become bigger in your
• 1:24
heart than God. It means breathing before you
• 1:28
speak, praying before you act, and surrendering before you
• 1:30
  spiral. Today, when pressure rises,
• 1:33
  pause. Ask God for wisdom.
• 1:35
Let His peace slow you down. You do not have to be controlled
• 1:39
by every emotion that passes through you in Christ.
• 1:43
You can respond with understanding instead of
• 1:45
  impulse. There's strength in stillness
• 1:48
because stillness makes room for God's voice.
• 1:51
Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 1:53
being steady. When I feel overwhelmed, help me
• 1:57
slow down before I react and trust You in the middle of my
• 1:59
struggles. Teach me to be still, to
• 2:02
remember that you are God, and to respond with wisdom instead
• 2:05
of anger. Let your peace guide my heart
• 2:08
  today. In Jesus name, Amen.
• 2:15
What if you could rise up and declare with full spiritual
• 2:18
authority, I shall not die but live?

• 3:19
Proverbs chapter 14, verses 28 to 29 World English Bible.
• 3:25
In the multitude of people is the King's glory, but in the
• 3:28
lack of people is the destruction of the Prince.
• 3:31
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who
• 3:34
has a quick temper displays folly.
• 3:37
Psalm Chapter 46 World English Bible for the chief musician by
• 3:42
the sons of Korah According to a Lamothe God is our refuge and
• 3:47
strength, a very present help in trouble.
• 3:50
Therefore we won't be afraid. Though the earth changes, though
• 3:54
the mountains are shaken into the heart of the Seas, though
• 3:57
its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains
• 4:00
  tremble with their swelling. Selah.
• 4:03
There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad.
• 4:07
The holy place of the tents of the Most High God is within her.
• 4:10
She shall not be moved. God will help her.
• 4:13
At dawn the nations raged, the kingdoms were moved.
• 4:17
He lifted his voice and the earth melted.
• 4:19
Yahweh of armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
• 4:23
  Selah. Come see Yahweh's works.
• 4:26
What desolations He has made in the earth.
• 4:28
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth.
• 4:31
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear.
• 4:33
He burns the Chariots in the fire.
• 4:36
Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the
• 4:39
nations. I will be exalted in the earth.
• 4:42
Yahweh of armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
• 4:46
Selah. Romans Chapter 7 World English
• 4:50
Bible. Or don't you know brothers?
• 4:52
For I speak to men who know the law, that the law has dominion
• 4:55
over a man for as long as he lives.
• 4:58
For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband
• 5:01
while he lives. But if the husband dies, she is
• 5:04
discharged from the law of the husband.
• 5:07
So then if while the husband lives, she is joined to another
• 5:10
man, she would be called an adulteress.
• 5:14
But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she
• 5:17
is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.
• 5:21
Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law
• 5:24
through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another,
• 5:27
to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce
• 5:30
fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh,
• 5:34
the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our
• 5:37
members to bring out fruit to death.
• 5:40
But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to
• 5:43
that in which we were held, so that we serve in newness of the
• 5:46
Spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
• 5:49
What shall we say then? Is the law sin?
• 5:52
May it never be. However, I wouldn't have known
• 5:54
sin except through the law. For I wouldn't have known
• 5:58
coveting unless the law had said, You shall not covet.
• 6:01
But sin finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me
• 6:05
all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law sin is
• 6:09
dead. I was alive apart from the law
• 6:11
once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
• 6:16
The commandment which was for life, this I found to be for
• 6:19
death. For sin finding occasion through
• 6:21
the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me.
• 6:25
Therefore the Law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy,
• 6:28
righteous, and good. Did then that which is good
• 6:31
become death to me? May it never be but sin that it
• 6:36
might be shown to be Sin was producing death in me through
• 6:39
that which is good, that through the commandment sin might become
• 6:42
exceedingly sinful. For we know that the Law is
• 6:46
spiritual. But I am fleshly sold under sin.
• 6:49
For I don't understand what I am doing.
• 6:51
For I don't practice what I desire to do, but what I hate
• 6:54
that I do. But if what I don't desire that
• 6:57
I do, I consent to the law that it is good.
• 7:00
So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
• 7:05
For I know that in me that is in my flesh dwells no good thing.
• 7:09
For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that
• 7:12
which is good. For the good which I desire I
• 7:15
don't do, but the evil which I don't desire that I practice.
• 7:19
But if what I don't desire that I do, it is no more I that do
• 7:22
it, but sin which dwells in me. I find then the law that while I
• 7:27
desire to do good, evil is present.
• 7:30
For I delight in God's law after the inward person.
• 7:33
But I see a different law in my members, warring against the law
• 7:37
of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin
• 7:41
which is in my members. What a wretched man I am who
• 7:45
will deliver me out of the body of this death.
• 7:48
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• 7:50
So then with the mind, I myself serve God's law, but with the
• 7:53
flesh sins law. Thanks for joining us on Bible
