- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to a Be Locally Loved mini episode where we bring you practical advice and big ideas from our full-length conversations in just a few minutes.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Let's do this.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: I would love to like just dive into, uh, in my opinion, AI is not the problem.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: It is a tool.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: And if we can lean into how to understand this tool, how to use this tool to magnify our voice and help us be more of ourselves, then it's going to be, you know, a really great asset for us as business owners.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: So I don't think AI is a problem.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: I think untrained AI is the problem.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Because untrained AI doesn't know you.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: It doesn't know your voice.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: It doesn't know your values.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: It doesn't know your standards.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: It doesn't know your heart.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: And when you hand the wheel to something that hasn't been guided or nurtured or educated or trained, you're going to get slop.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: You know, you're going to get AI slop.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: You're going to get noise.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: You're going to get garbage in, garbage out.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: That is, I think, the real risk.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: So when AI is trained thoughtfully, intentionally, then something really powerful can happen.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: It can become a true co-pilot for you in running your business and marketing your business and messaging your business.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: It can reflect you.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: It can support you in your thinking.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: It can challenge you in your thinking.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: It can help you be a better version of yourself.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: It can also extend your capacity.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: It can help you do things smarter, faster, and beyond what you ever could do alone.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, our podcast is honestly a product of leaning into AI because we use AI to take the transcript of our podcast, make the show notes, make the social media captions.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Like if we didn't have AI helping with us and we were writing every word of our show notes and our social media, like we would never get, you know, our podcast out to the world.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And you'd be doing all the writing because I'm a terrible writer.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: And you know, you said it so well about AI because what what what I hear a lot is the sense of AI being in charge, right?
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: AI dictating a being the dictator and dictating to me what I should do.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: And AI is just a tool.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: It's a robot that does exactly what we tell it to do.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: It's like money.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Money is green paper unless you do something with it.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: And you can do good things and you can do bad things.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: You know, people compare AI with the internet, which is actually really not comparative these days because AI affects us in our home today.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Internet back in the day, we had a choice to adopt it or to not adopt it.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: So what I've seen with a lot of people that I've actually met with and talked to, business owners, especially.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: I actually had a phone call yesterday with someone that was asking some advice on how to do a podcast.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: And what was interesting is my first advice to him was how to use Chat GPT.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: And he was always already using it in an interesting way, in a creative way, which was a good way.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: But I went deeper with it and told him how to use AI to have AI asking questions a certain way.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: And he goes, Really?
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: You can make it do that.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And I said, It's like talking to a person.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: You know, you could just have it do it the way the way you want it to.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: If you don't know how to prompt it, then ask it how to prompt itself.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Well, yesterday you and I were talking about how affirming AI is.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Like if you really listen to AI, you'd think you were the smartest like person on the planet.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And you have to say to AI, I don't want you to just affirm me.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: I want you to challenge me.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I want you to ask questions that my clients are going to ask.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I want you to help me see objections that my clients are going to have.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Like, I want you, I used AI the other day to earn a scholarship.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: And one of the questions that I asked it at the end was based on this answer, based on this essay that we've created, how likely am I to earn the scholarship?
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: And it said 91%.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: And I said, Well, what can you do to help me get it up from there?
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: And it said, Well, you know, nothing's guaranteed because it's subjective, da-da-da.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: But if we do this, we can get it to 93% chance you'll earn the scholarship.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, well, then let's do that.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: And you wonder, okay, where where do those percentages come from?
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: I've questioned AI a few times where I'm like, uh, my AI, I call him Ed, like the talking horse.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: And I say, I'll say a couple of times, Ed, you know that's a bunch of bull that you're giving me right now.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: And and then it'll come back and say, Yeah, you're you're good to point that out.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: You you are correct.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll say it a different way.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, you know what?
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: If it was someone who believed in something and was on a mission and was very clear of how God created them, right, they would say, No, this is the way I and that's okay that I think differently, but AI is going to go with you and do whatever you say or tell it to and modify it accordingly.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: It's not going to dictate to you and and be the boss.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: And I and that right there, that subject, you may want to dig in.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: I think you're going to dig in with that too, but a lot of us are familiar with being an employee sometimes of a company doing what we're told, right?
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Well, I named my AI Ray, not the male name Ray, the female name Ray, R-A-E.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: And she was named Ray after the heroine in the Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, because I chose to say AI is going to help me be the heroine of my own story so that I can serve my clients better, magnify my impact.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: And I want to see AI as a positive force for good in the world and in my life specifically.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: I believe that when AI is trained, like I said, it can be a true co-pilot for your life and your business.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Everything from taking a photo of what's in your refrigerator and saying, tell me what I can make for dinner tonight, right?
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: To uploading all of your bank statements and saying, tell me where I can save some money, you know, tell me where there's some redundancy in my TV subscriptions or something, like really cool things like that, to telling it about the nuances of your business and having it help you write maybe an email nurture sequence for your clients, or maybe some new copy for your homepage that's more aligned with your soul essence and more aligned with like SEO and what people are searching for.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: What I love most about AI is that I feel like I can tap into the infinite intelligence of the world when it comes to research, right?
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Like, tell me about what it takes to create a successful podcast.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Tell me what we should do as we're leading up to our pilot episode.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: What should we be doing on social media?
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like it's just been a guide, you know, a guide, a coach, a co-pilot.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: I'm just coming off of my second AI continuing education certification in the past two months.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: So I have been spending a lot of money, a lot of money, and a lot of time leaning into AI because not only do I want to use it for my own business, because I'm a small business owner.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: I have limited resources, limited time, limited money, just like everyone else.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: I want to learn how to use it to be smarter, faster, better, more aligned, you know, all of those things.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: But I also know that we're in a point in history, a point.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you don't learn how to use this tractor to farm your land, if you don't learn how to use electricity or use that toaster, like you are going to be left behind.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: So I'm leaning right now into being an indispensable AI guide for humanity, business owners specifically, because of my background in in business, but you know, humanity really needs a guide for AI right now.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, to be more of yourself.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: You know, uh, I'm gonna tell you a quick, a very quick story of a it's a partnership I have with an AI firm.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: And the owner was sitting with a friend of mine who's elderly, and he was talking with them, and my friend was concerned about AI, and it was at a networking event we were all at, and uh he was concerned about AI, and he's close to 80 years old, and you know, and he's thinking in old way, he doesn't even he has a hard time emailing and texting sometimes, you know.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: So he was thinking, Oh my gosh, it's it's totally evil and it's gonna be terrible and all this stuff.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: So Max says to him something that was just great.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: He said, You know, before before I leave, I've had a great conversation with you.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Max is a great guy, he's very nice and kind.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: And so he says to my friend, he says, you know, I just want to leave with a point that I think is really important that I think you'll like to hear.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: He said, AI, we work full-time in developing AI solutions.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: And AI is going to and currently does help us with our time, and it reduces the amount of time we have to put towards certain things.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: So what that does is it reduces the amount of work time so that we will have more available time to serve and connect with people, unlike we have been before.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: And he goes, I didn't think about it that way because he's thinking about the negative part of it, right?
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, yes, AI is the ultimate time saver, especially when it comes to research.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: And I'm using it to language things.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: Like I'm able to talk to Ray in um a way that allows me to say more than I would be able to say if I typed it out.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: So when I lean into, you know, like let's say I'm working on my B and I commercial, my little 45 second, you know, if you have 45 seconds, you better do a good job with that.
- 10:01unknown: Yeah.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: You know, and I always try to follow the Donald Miller proven framework, problem solution, success.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: So I'll lean in and say, okay, this is what I want to teach today, Ray.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: This is a problem, this is the solution, this is the success.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Please help me language that in 45 seconds.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: And then she'll kick something back to me.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: And here's a little like pro tip for using AI.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Never accept the first answer that you're given.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Because if you kick it back and you say, that's not good enough, I know you can do better, it will do better every time.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: So, my my my my focus for my business and and my future right now is to center on one thing: helping humans train their AI, their AI, helping humans train their AI to work with them, not against them, with them as a co-pilot without losing their voice, their values, or their essence.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: It's not about hype, it's not about shortcuts.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, can we have shortcuts?
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Yes, but it's not about outsourcing your humanity or outsourcing your voice.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: It's about clarity, it's about discernment, it's about judgment, and it's about using tool.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: You're the you're the leader, using AI as a tool to support you in serving the world the way that you've chosen and been called to step up and serve the world.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: So my background spans marketing, media, community leadership, business ownership, but my evolution has brought me to this moment, kind of the intersection between humanity and technology as we learn to handle the new electricity that we have at our fingertips.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: So I wanted to create a new space for people to connect, for people to connect that want to learn about AI, people that want to lean into AI, people that want to make sure that AI sounds like them, not everyone else, people that want to leverage AI without losing integrity.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: They want, they want AI to support them, but not surrender their control to AI.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And they want to grow their business using AI.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: They want their time back with help from AI, but they want to do it in a way that feels aligned and not hollow.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: So I've created just a free Facebook group for us all to come together.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: It's called Raise Your AI Game.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: So you can go to Facebook and just type in your AI Game, and you will find other like-minded business owners that are wanting to lean into AI to grow their business while keeping their voice, keeping their values, keeping their essence, but also saving time and serving and stepping up to deliver on what they feel like they've been called to do in their life and their business.
