- 0:17Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Zamas when San Atennani, Stevens, Brian Sexton,
- 0:20Speaker 1: and John Oser are with me as we go over everything.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Jaguars are gonna prepare for the Titans this week, but
- 0:24Speaker 1: we started with big thing number one, which is officially official.
- 0:27Speaker 1: The Jaguars entered Monday with a less than one percent
- 0:30Speaker 1: chance of making the playoffs.
- 0:31Speaker 2: They now enter later into the week with zero percent
- 0:34Speaker 2: chance of making the playoffs. Brian, this is.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Something we kind of saw coming. It's happened to the
- 0:38Speaker 1: scene before, but this one hurts a little bit extra.
- 0:41Speaker 1: But considering the expectations going into the season.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it makes the letdown a little bit further down.
- 0:49Speaker 3: We've been hoping John for weeks that they would start
- 0:52Speaker 3: a little bit of a winning streak so that at
- 0:54Speaker 3: least at some point in December you'd have a meaningful
- 0:57Speaker 3: game Like if this then that which is always where
- 1:01Speaker 3: you want.
- 1:01Speaker 4: To be, especially at the holidays.
- 1:02Speaker 3: There's people, you know, whether it gets cold and people
- 1:05Speaker 3: are inside and they're watching football, and you just want
- 1:07Speaker 3: your team to even have the slightest glimmer of hope
- 1:11Speaker 3: and there is none, and what you really want to
- 1:14Speaker 3: make sure is that apathy doesn't set in and people
- 1:17Speaker 3: just don't paying attention to you because you're not in
- 1:19Speaker 3: the mix whatsoever.
- 1:21Speaker 4: The officially official thing was a bummer.
- 1:23Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's been common. It reminds me a lot
- 1:27Speaker 5: of eighteen when they came in with high hopes, had
- 1:31Speaker 5: a decent start, unlike this year, and then it has
- 1:33Speaker 5: sort of petered out and by the end you knew
- 1:35Speaker 5: it was over.
- 1:38Speaker 4: It's disappointing.
- 1:40Speaker 5: This team has had bad seasons, too many bad seasons
- 1:43Speaker 5: for fourteen years. But because of the expectations, guy, this
- 1:46Speaker 5: is obviously up with, you know, the two or three
- 1:50Speaker 5: most disappointing seasons.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Absolutely, our big thing.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Number two is going to be to play or not
- 1:53Speaker 1: to play. We talk about the Jaguars no longer in
- 1:56Speaker 1: the playoff hunts at this point, Trevor Lawrence in concussion protocol,
- 1:59Speaker 1: but he's also dealing with a shoulder injury before that,
- 2:02Speaker 1: So do you play him going forward?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Doug Peterson talked a little bit about that decision.
- 2:06Speaker 6: You got to take it all into consideration, obviously, and
- 2:10Speaker 6: and you know, make make a smart choice, make a
- 2:14Speaker 6: you know, make a headsy sort of determination with him
- 2:18Speaker 6: and his health. And then obviously you know.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Where we are as a team right now, John, No
- 2:24Speaker 1: decision has been made at this point. Five more games
- 2:26Speaker 1: to go with this season, but as you mentioned, no
- 2:28Speaker 1: playoff chances. Trevor's been playing hurt already. What do you
- 2:31Speaker 1: think will end up happening with you?
- 2:33Speaker 5: Well, it feels like this is very fluid and very
- 2:36Speaker 5: still real time. I will say, just trying to interpret
- 2:40Speaker 5: Doug's voice, tone, words, it will be considered to not
- 2:49Speaker 5: play Trevor again. It's hard to know what that decision
- 2:53Speaker 5: will be because when you're speculating on players playing because
- 2:57Speaker 5: of health issues and you don't know it's exactly the health.
- 3:01Speaker 5: How fast does he come back from my protocol? How
- 3:03Speaker 5: bad is the shoulder? It's easy to say, Brian, oh,
- 3:07Speaker 5: sit him. But there's some nuances there in terms of health,
- 3:11Speaker 5: in terms of things that I think they have to
- 3:13Speaker 5: be decided. My guess is they'll lean toward not playing them,
- 3:18Speaker 5: with a lot of discussions still to come on that point.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Brian, we're just interpreting here. I heard Doug say in
- 3:24Speaker 3: my head, he's done right. He just the way that
- 3:28Speaker 3: Doug communicates the last couple of years, he left the
- 3:31Speaker 3: door wide open and he would narrow it.
- 3:33Speaker 4: In fact, talking to him before last week's.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Game about Trevor's return, you know, you want to send
- 3:39Speaker 3: the message to the locker room that we're all in
- 3:41Speaker 3: on every game left on the schedule. There's the development
- 3:43Speaker 3: that we've talked about John with the young players and
- 3:46Speaker 3: making sure that they had their best opportunities ahead of them.
- 3:49Speaker 3: But that and the fact that the Jaguars signed former
- 3:52Speaker 3: Bishop Kenny quarterback Johnny Wolford to the practice squad this week,
- 3:56Speaker 3: I mean, it's just checkbox, checkbox, checkbox. I would be
- 3:59Speaker 3: stun if we see Trevor Lawrence again. And I would
- 4:02Speaker 3: say this because I have been that guy that says,
- 4:04Speaker 3: if he's healthy, you play him. Because of all the
- 4:06Speaker 3: reasons that we just discussed the fencing posture right that
- 4:10Speaker 3: I went back and I watched it after we talked
- 4:11Speaker 3: about it on Monday, there's no reason to mess with that,
- 4:14Speaker 3: especially with the playoffs completely out of the perspective right now.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I would focus on getting.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Him ready to go into the off season healthy, whatever
- 4:24Speaker 3: he needs to do to make sure that he's ready
- 4:25Speaker 3: to go next spring and summer.
- 4:27Speaker 1: We're going to go to our final big thing now,
- 4:28Speaker 1: which is the suspension. Suspension coming down from the NFL
- 4:32Speaker 1: as he's Alshi here has been suspended for three games
- 4:34Speaker 1: for that hit on Trevor Lawrence. He'll be appealing that suspension.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Ran.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I think we all assumed the suspension was coming, but
- 4:41Speaker 1: trying to set a tone with the three games here.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I've read that it's two hundred and sixty five
- 4:46Speaker 3: thousand dollars a game, which puts it at seven hundred
- 4:48Speaker 3: and ninety five thousand dollars. That's a big mistake, and
- 4:52Speaker 3: the three game suspension is a black mark on his record.
- 4:56Speaker 3: It will travel with him wherever he goes in terms
- 4:58Speaker 3: of his reputation. So that seems like the right amount.
- 5:02Speaker 3: But you know, when you lead with the forearm John
- 5:04Speaker 3: like he did. I mean, it was just it was brutal.
- 5:08Speaker 3: If they had suspended him for the rest of the season,
- 5:10Speaker 3: which would only be one more game, I would have
- 5:12Speaker 3: been a little happier.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I know some fans aren't happy about the length.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Based on what the NFL does in these situations, that
- 5:20Speaker 5: felt like a pretty stiff penalty to me. I think
- 5:25Speaker 5: it was the least that they could do had they
- 5:28Speaker 5: done four or five games. My guess is the pushback
- 5:31Speaker 5: from the NFLPA would have been a little stronger. I
- 5:34Speaker 5: don't know how you look at that hit and not
- 5:36Speaker 5: think it has to be multiple games. Three is fine.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Four would have been fine somewhere in that ring. You know.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Listen, a late hit on the quarterback is one thing
- 5:44Speaker 3: you're gonna get. They're gonna get a fine, right. But
- 5:46Speaker 3: I think in any case John, where you lead with
- 5:49Speaker 3: the forearm to the head, you're never gonna take the
- 5:52Speaker 3: physical aspect out of the game. There's gonna be hits
- 5:54Speaker 3: that you don't like. But the way that he led
- 5:57Speaker 3: with that forearm was vicious. And I don't know how
- 6:00Speaker 3: you say it wasn't intentional. He can say only once.
- 6:03Speaker 3: That's not in my heart. But that's not what's on TV.
- 6:05Speaker 3: That's not what's gonna leave it infa me on the
- 6:07Speaker 3: internet for years and years. You lead with this towards
- 6:10Speaker 3: another player's head and neck. Man, as far as I'm concerned,
- 6:13Speaker 3: they can't suspend you enough.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Yeah, it's uh. Look, I got an even to Bay saying, well,
- 6:19Speaker 5: it was calculated. I don't know that. Before the game,
- 6:23Speaker 5: he said, if I get a shot at Trevor, I'm
- 6:25Speaker 5: gonna do this but if you watch the tape or
- 6:28Speaker 5: the video of it, it's hard to argue that something
- 6:33Speaker 5: in him made him lead with the forearm. He laded
- 6:37Speaker 5: the forearm, he went after the head. As Foya Lucan
- 6:40Speaker 5: said on Monday, if he wasn't going after it, if
- 6:43Speaker 5: Trevor hadn't slid, then he's going after knees. You have
- 6:46Speaker 5: very measured people like Foyer is saying, look, there was
- 6:50Speaker 5: no way that I was going to be a clean
- 6:52Speaker 5: hit no matter what happened, trying to figure out what
- 6:54Speaker 5: he was doing, calling it a dirty play. NFL players
- 6:57Speaker 5: usually don't react as the Jaguars have reacted to this. Again,
- 7:03Speaker 5: you had to suspend. This felt like the minium you
- 7:06Speaker 5: could do.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Talk a little bit more about that reaction coming up
- 7:08Speaker 1: after the break here on Jagsam jag xam brought to
- 7:18Speaker 1: you by Fields Autogroup Jacksonville. Jacksonville was premier luxury autogroup.
- 7:21Speaker 1: You can head over to field Auto dot com.
- 7:24Speaker 2: This that.
- 7:27Speaker 5: This os.
- 7:34Speaker 6: No I. You know, I definitely appreciate how our team responded,
- 7:38Speaker 6: you know, I mean protecting the quarterback and and all
- 7:41Speaker 6: of that. Obviously, you hate to see it escalate to
- 7:45Speaker 6: where it went but you know the second half of
- 7:50Speaker 6: the football game too. There the officials basically worn both teams.
- 7:54Speaker 6: It was a no tolerance. It was a zero tolerance
- 7:57Speaker 6: you know in the second half. So if there was
- 7:58Speaker 6: anything that transpired, that player was going to be you know,
- 8:03Speaker 6: ejected as well. So, you know, thought, I thought both
- 8:06Speaker 6: teams you know, played the second half as they should.
- 8:11Speaker 6: You know, it was a tough, physical football game in
- 8:12Speaker 6: the second half, and and there you know, there wasn't
- 8:16Speaker 6: anything anything that escalated from you know, from that hit.
- 8:19Speaker 1: In the first half. Welcome back into jack XAM and
- 8:23Speaker 1: Doug Peterson talking a little bit about his team's reaction
- 8:26Speaker 1: to that hit on Trevor Lawrence, what that spilled into,
- 8:29Speaker 1: and we're going to talk a little this for that
- 8:30Speaker 1: with that, because I think hear in Jacksonville from some
- 8:32Speaker 1: of the fans John as you mentioned writing into you
- 8:34Speaker 1: thought more should have been done after what happened to
- 8:37Speaker 1: Trevor in terms of saliation or whatnot on the field,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and then head coach of the Texans and Miko Ryan
- 8:43Speaker 1: saying Jaguars overreacted.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So I think I know where we all stand.
- 8:47Speaker 1: On this, but let's talk it out a little bit
- 8:48Speaker 1: because I think obviously your visceral reaction Evan Ingram, obviously
- 8:52Speaker 1: that happening, and it kind of spilling forward, but then
- 8:54Speaker 1: being reignited by al Shire later and the second brawl,
- 8:58Speaker 1: Everyone's emotions were high.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I think I said on the show on Monday that
- 9:01Speaker 3: I had respect for Demiko Ryans and the way that
- 9:05Speaker 3: he presented himself. I mean, everyone that I know that
- 9:07Speaker 3: knows him thinks that he's not only a.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Good person, but a good coach.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Well, Doug Peterson just schooled him on how to handle
- 9:12Speaker 3: this right. I mean, I know some people in Jacksonville,
- 9:15Speaker 3: some fans, have been dissatisfied with the lack of emotion
- 9:19Speaker 3: from the head coach, the lack of anger from Doug.
- 9:22Speaker 3: But the job is to win the game, not the fight.
- 9:25Speaker 3: And Doug knew that he had to keep his team
- 9:28Speaker 3: even keeled. And then he's been even keeled because he
- 9:30Speaker 3: understands after the fact, what good does it do to
- 9:32Speaker 3: stand at the podium and pound his fist.
- 9:35Speaker 4: I'm the emotional guy.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I like that, but I get that that's not who
- 9:38Speaker 3: Doug is and it wasn't the right way and Demiko Ryans,
- 9:41Speaker 3: the respect I had was here. It's gone down a
- 9:43Speaker 3: notch after his comments in Houston about the Jaguars overreacting
- 9:47Speaker 3: and about the slide being Trevor's fault.
- 9:49Speaker 4: I mean, it just seemed like crap to me.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Yeah, some of my most reserved friends. I had a
- 9:56Speaker 5: text from my buddy and him know who he is,
- 10:00Speaker 5: eight version text of I've lost respect for Doug after this,
- 10:04Speaker 5: And I get there's that feeling in the fan base.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Doug takes the approach coaching that he's going to try
- 10:10Speaker 5: to have an even keel, and he bends toward that.
- 10:14Speaker 5: It's a conscious effort. So there's no way Doug wasn't
- 10:17Speaker 5: upset about it. But I think he just doesn't want
- 10:19Speaker 5: to show it. And that's the explanation there. Look as
- 10:23Speaker 5: a journalist, I try when there's a situation like this
- 10:27Speaker 5: to look at things people say, like Tamiko Ryans and
- 10:31Speaker 5: try to maybe find okay, we're all emotional about it.
- 10:34Speaker 4: What did he mean?
- 10:36Speaker 5: I couldn't do it on this one. I mean, to
- 10:38Speaker 5: say the Jaguars overreacted and to even imply that Trevor
- 10:44Speaker 5: did something wrong to bring it out.
- 10:48Speaker 4: It was absurd.
- 10:49Speaker 5: So but I get that he has he has to
- 10:53Speaker 5: defend his team, But when he was playing, my guess
- 10:59Speaker 5: is he probably would have gone after somebody for doing
- 11:01Speaker 5: that to his quarterbacks.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Listen, I think he's underreacting if he thinks that his
- 11:04Speaker 3: guy leading with the forehand armed to the head and
- 11:07Speaker 3: neck is not worthy of a.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Team losing its mind on the side.
- 11:11Speaker 3: If that had been his quarter patch, sure on their sideline,
- 11:14Speaker 3: the Texans would have reacted the exact same way. He
- 11:17Speaker 3: would have been better to say nothing other than I'm
- 11:20Speaker 3: going to defend my guy because that's what a coach
- 11:21Speaker 3: is expected to do. But I would hope that we
- 11:23Speaker 3: wouldn't have any more of this.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I think the defensive player, as you mentioned, totally understandable,
- 11:28Speaker 1: but I think they're all we're all getting caught up
- 11:31Speaker 1: in it a little bit, going too fark trying to
- 11:33Speaker 1: defend certain things.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I do want to say the expects of it.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Doug has handled it right. He has been the leader
- 11:39Speaker 3: of this thing, and I think he's handled it right.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I think if you think the Doug needed to be
- 11:45Speaker 3: more emotional, then you're being too emotional.
- 11:47Speaker 5: And to clarify the overriding factor here was the forearm,
- 11:53Speaker 5: not the time, and it's awfully hard just from an
- 11:56Speaker 5: executive point of view to look at the play and
- 11:59Speaker 5: not think that I had malicious intent.
- 12:01Speaker 1: We're going to move past that today and officially a
- 12:04Speaker 1: little bit of a joke as well, or officially too
- 12:06Speaker 1: early draft talk because now that we're officially eliminating from
- 12:09Speaker 1: the playoffs, let's talk a little bit of draft. I
- 12:11Speaker 1: know you guys love that so much. Where's your head
- 12:13Speaker 1: at right now? If the draft was today, what would
- 12:14Speaker 1: you draft? Was a position group would.
- 12:16Speaker 2: You go for?
- 12:16Speaker 3: I facetiously almost made my hot take yesterday that Travis
- 12:19Speaker 3: Hunter will be both a cornerback and a wide receiver
- 12:23Speaker 3: next fall in Jacksonville.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Music to some people's ears, it's.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Not a great draft for offensive tackles last year was,
- 12:30Speaker 3: but you opted to take Brian Thomas and that's panned
- 12:33Speaker 3: out well. John, I think you were the one that
- 12:37Speaker 3: said this that it's about four or five guys in
- 12:39Speaker 3: the first round that are difference makers. You're going to
- 12:42Speaker 3: be in a position probably to take a difference maker
- 12:44Speaker 3: whichever one is there.
- 12:45Speaker 4: But Travis Hunter would be a guy I'd like to
- 12:47Speaker 4: have on my team.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Yeah. My edict, because I've been through this before, is
- 12:54Speaker 5: in the O zone. I do not talk about the draft.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Elimination doesn't cut it because guess what high standard many years, well,
- 13:02Speaker 5: no January eighth comes around and that's all. It's a
- 13:06Speaker 5: long haul till April fifteenth. So I give myself this time.
- 13:09Speaker 5: But in answer to your question, I don't know the
- 13:15Speaker 5: offensive line will be the priority because now I don't
- 13:21Speaker 5: know how they're gonna change the offensive line the off
- 13:22Speaker 5: season because they got eighty percent company up. But I'm
- 13:26Speaker 5: tired around here of not being good enough on the
- 13:31Speaker 5: two fronts. So I build the lines on both sides
- 13:38Speaker 5: until you can build no more.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Defensive line for me, if we're picking today, when I
- 13:42Speaker 1: get a little tough, there are.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Some very good defensive tackles. The kid from Michigan is
- 13:47Speaker 3: thought to be a top five pick as well. So listen,
- 13:50Speaker 3: I'm with you. That's always been my stance. You got
- 13:52Speaker 3: to win in the trenches, but tantalizing players that can
- 13:55Speaker 3: do a lot of different things for you and are
- 13:57Speaker 3: all at difference makers. You've got to have a difference maker, somebody.
- 14:01Speaker 3: What does it change these guys that you just can't defend?
- 14:04Speaker 5: Right, And we're starting over time here, But you're exactly right,
- 14:10Speaker 5: and at the same time, if you keep reaching for
- 14:15Speaker 5: tantalizing every year, then all of a sudden you're meh
- 14:19Speaker 5: on the line and they've sorted and not every player,
- 14:23Speaker 5: but I'm saying overall performance, there's been a lot of
- 14:27Speaker 5: years right now where they're just good enough on the
- 14:31Speaker 5: two lines and not great. It's time to get great.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Well, think of it this way, Kye.
- 14:35Speaker 3: There are defensive ends, there are defensive tackles. There's a
- 14:39Speaker 3: couple of cornerbacks. There are players that this team needs.
- 14:43Speaker 3: So it's just a matter of deciding which one would
- 14:46Speaker 3: be hardest to find anywhere else in the draft and
- 14:48Speaker 3: which one fits what you.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Want to do also depends where we end up in
- 14:52Speaker 1: terms of draft position as well. Because of these last
- 14:54Speaker 1: five games coming up, we're going to talk a little
- 14:56Speaker 1: bit about what's going on elsewhere in the AFC South
- 14:58Speaker 1: and some of the games coming up. For eleven years,
- 15:08Speaker 1: dream Finders Holmes have been the proud to call themselves
- 15:11Speaker 1: the official homebuilders of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Visit dreamfindershomes dot
- 15:14Speaker 1: com for all of the available inventory and Go Jets.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Welcome back into Jags Am. Today.
- 15:21Speaker 1: We're gonna talk a little bit about what's going on
- 15:23Speaker 1: around the division. We've been eliminated from the playoffs, but
- 15:26Speaker 1: there's still five more games to go, many of them
- 15:28Speaker 1: divisional games. So let's talk a little bit about the Colts,
- 15:31Speaker 1: who got a one point win over the Patriots this week,
- 15:34Speaker 1: and the Cults are two games out of the division
- 15:37Speaker 1: A behind the Texans in the AFC South, and they've
- 15:40Speaker 1: got a pretty easy schedule, so I'm wondering if that'll
- 15:43Speaker 1: get a little more interesting. We've talked about the Texans schedule.
- 15:45Speaker 1: They have a bye week coming up, but then I
- 15:48Speaker 1: believe it's Miami, Kansas City, Baltimore and one of their
- 15:52Speaker 1: division I think Titans to end the year. So Texans
- 15:55Speaker 1: have a gauntlet to go and the Colts have a
- 15:57Speaker 1: little bit of an easier ride. Do you think now
- 15:59Speaker 1: they're putting something together with Anthony Richardson? Could this occur?
- 16:02Speaker 3: Wells, they have wanted to have Anthony Richardson performing at
- 16:07Speaker 3: a moderately high level. With Jonathan Taylor, who I just
- 16:11Speaker 3: think is one of the most underrated backs the last
- 16:13Speaker 3: couple of years because he's been battling ankle.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Injuries, it looks like they've got something going with him now.
- 16:18Speaker 3: There's a little bit of a little bit of something
- 16:20Speaker 3: in the passing game, but primarily when you have two
- 16:22Speaker 3: guys who are so good on the ground. Yeah, I
- 16:25Speaker 3: think the Colts can put something together here. They're getting
- 16:27Speaker 3: some of their injured defensive players back. I think if
- 16:29Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson can avoid the turnovers, I think that they
- 16:32Speaker 3: could make at least some of those. If that this,
- 16:36Speaker 3: then that sort of games that get fans energized.
- 16:39Speaker 5: The Colts are what the Jaguar should have been right now.
- 16:41Speaker 4: I think that's absolutely right.
- 16:43Speaker 5: I don't think the Jaggers were a great team coming in.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I think we overrated him a little bit. But they're
- 16:48Speaker 5: better than what they show, and had they won a
- 16:50Speaker 5: couple of games that they should have won or just
- 16:54Speaker 5: not given away a few, that's where the Colts are
- 16:57Speaker 5: six and seven, right the jay that would be six
- 16:59Speaker 5: and seven. Yeah, and so yes, because of the Texans schedule,
- 17:04Speaker 5: the Colts can turn this into something. I don't think anybody.
- 17:08Speaker 5: I don't think anybody in the division is very good,
- 17:10Speaker 5: and I'll couch that by saying I think we're the
- 17:12Speaker 5: worst to be the worst record, but yeah, they can
- 17:16Speaker 5: get into it because it's not very good division.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Dagars had a chance to beat the Texans in both
- 17:21Speaker 3: of those games, and with their backup on Sunday, very
- 17:23Speaker 3: nearly had a chance to do it. So I don't
- 17:25Speaker 3: think the Texans are all that good.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Well, we're gonna battle it out with the Titans to
- 17:28Speaker 1: see who's third and who's fourth, essentially, because the Titans
- 17:31Speaker 1: are now three and nine after they lost to the
- 17:33Speaker 1: Commanders this last week. And this is Titans and Jaguars
- 17:37Speaker 1: games are always a little bit weird.
- 17:39Speaker 2: But we're gonna head to Nashville this week, so it
- 17:40Speaker 2: should get interesting.
- 17:41Speaker 3: They have a couple of guys though, Jeffrey Simmons I think,
- 17:44Speaker 3: being the guy that I hiled in the highest regard.
- 17:46Speaker 3: But the defensive tackle is just a game wrecker and
- 17:51Speaker 3: he's gonna challenge the inside of the Jaguars offensive line
- 17:54Speaker 3: this week. Ninety eight is so good, so talented that
- 17:58Speaker 3: if you don't have two guys on him, then he's
- 18:01Speaker 3: gonna own the backfield.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Yeah, the U this gets gonna be tough for the
- 18:05Speaker 5: Jags because there's the other quarterback, and frankly, they're all
- 18:09Speaker 5: tough for the Jags right now because the Titans these
- 18:14Speaker 5: games matter in these last four or five games. It's
- 18:17Speaker 5: a first year coach, it's a quarterback who, after being
- 18:21Speaker 5: sort of felt like he was out of it early
- 18:22Speaker 5: in the season, is now starting to build up a
- 18:25Speaker 5: little bit of a resume where good performance for Will
- 18:30Speaker 5: Levis in the last five games might change the franchise's
- 18:33Speaker 5: thought on quarterback. So they're gonna be playing with that
- 18:37Speaker 5: in mind. Let's figure this out. Uh, there's still a
- 18:40Speaker 5: team with a motivation on that level beyond pride. I'm
- 18:44Speaker 5: not sure what the Jaguars motivation is.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Well, they'll have some sort of motivation. I'll sure they'll
- 18:49Speaker 2: figure it out.
- 18:49Speaker 1: They're back in the building today and we'll hear from
- 18:51Speaker 1: Doug Peterson and a quarterback twe named later at some
- 18:53Speaker 1: point today.
- 18:54Speaker 2: So stay with us.
- 18:55Speaker 1: We'll tell you else what else is going on the
- 18:56Speaker 1: rest of this week. Shags fans, if you want customized

- 19:13Speaker 3: And let's get going on the ground.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Come on, it starts when that's up front.
- 19:16Speaker 5: It starts when get something going. Bruh co Allo.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Like Thomas.
- 19:36Speaker 1: The Evan Evan Ingram was miked up for that game
- 19:53Speaker 1: against the Texans. So that's video you're definitely gonna want
- 19:56Speaker 1: to check out. And hear from him this week, Johnny
- 19:58Speaker 1: talking to him for the podcast.
- 20:00Speaker 5: I am talking it for the podcast, and I was
- 20:03Speaker 5: laughing when I watched this. I have to ask him
- 20:05Speaker 5: about it because all receiving tight ends love to talk
- 20:09Speaker 5: about how great blockers they are. But he actually blocked
- 20:11Speaker 5: pretty well there, so I know he'll he'll take some
- 20:14Speaker 5: pride in that and maybe overplay it a little bit.
- 20:16Speaker 4: But he was grunting and groaning, so it sounded like
- 20:18Speaker 4: he was getting out.
- 20:19Speaker 5: He's in You know, we all know Evan. Everybody who's
- 20:22Speaker 5: met Evan and spending time around and likes him. But
- 20:25Speaker 5: on every team there's a few pros, and there's a
- 20:28Speaker 5: few guys who you know are in it for the
- 20:30Speaker 5: right reasons. They're in the peak of their careers, meaning
- 20:33Speaker 5: seventh or eighth year. This is a professional football player
- 20:37Speaker 5: who takes it the right way. And the one thing
- 20:39Speaker 5: I'm not going to mess with him.
- 20:41Speaker 2: No, call him up if he need him to.
- 20:43Speaker 3: He came in here in twenty twenty two on a
- 20:45Speaker 3: one year deal to prove himself and was such a pro.
- 20:49Speaker 3: He's one of the guys you feel bad for with
- 20:51Speaker 3: the way that this thing has gone this year, because
- 20:52Speaker 3: it seemed like he was trending up with this team
- 20:55Speaker 3: and one hundred and fourteen receptions last year really looked
- 20:58Speaker 3: like one of the best young tight ends in the game,
- 21:01Speaker 3: and this year it just doesn't look like he's made.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Much of an impact.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Well, battle through that injury totally.
- 21:07Speaker 4: It's the circumstances, not the player.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Frustrating obviously, but a great member for this team and
- 21:13Speaker 1: a great member of the Jacksonville community as well. So
- 21:15Speaker 1: well here from having Ingram this week on John's podcast,
- 21:17Speaker 1: and of course we'll hear from.
- 21:18Speaker 2: The rest of the players.
- 21:19Speaker 1: We'll talk a little bit more about the Titans Tomorrow's
- 21:21Speaker 1: We Get Ready for Game Dance Sunday,
