- 0:05Speaker 2: It's the almost famous podcast. Been here and this past
- 0:08Speaker 2: weekend I had the best time with Chris Harrison and
- 0:11Speaker 2: Wells Adams. We were in New York with City Cruises
- 0:16Speaker 2: hanging out was some of the best fans from Bachelor Nation.
- 0:20Speaker 2: We had such a great time sharing behind the scenes stories,
- 0:23Speaker 2: answering fan questions, we wanted to share it here on
- 0:26Speaker 2: the pod.
- 0:28Speaker 3: So let's dive into the night.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Welcome to City Cruises. Apparently we're in the Big Apple.
- 0:34Speaker 4: That's a nickname for New York. I just found out backstage.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Thank you for being here, thank you for taking your
- 0:39Speaker 4: Sunday night to join us, and thanks for being a
- 0:42Speaker 4: part of Bachelor Nation, a show and a franchise that
- 0:46Speaker 4: really meant the world to me. My heart and soul
- 0:48Speaker 4: was in that show for almost twenty years and I
- 0:52Speaker 4: loved every bit of it.
- 0:52Speaker 5: I truly did almost every bit of it.
- 0:59Speaker 4: I brought some of my best friends and this has
- 1:01Speaker 4: been a great week.
- 1:02Speaker 5: We were in Boston a couple of nights ago. Now
- 1:04Speaker 5: we're here in New York. We're gonna do another cruise
- 1:06Speaker 5: in San Diego.
- 1:07Speaker 4: And when you get to spend time with, you know,
- 1:11Speaker 4: people on the show. You're like, oh, good other cast members. No, no,
- 1:14Speaker 4: these are my very dear friend some of my best
- 1:16Speaker 4: friends in the world, which is a kind of an
- 1:18Speaker 4: excellent byproduct of what I got to do for a
- 1:21Speaker 4: living for almost twenty years.
- 1:22Speaker 5: So I want to bring them on.
- 1:24Speaker 4: First up, People Magazines forty seventh Sexiest Man of the Year.
- 1:32Speaker 4: But he's the best damn bartender in the world. Ladies
- 1:39Speaker 4: and gentlemen give it up for wells Adams.
- 1:46Speaker 6: Wait, is this how I find out that I'm the
- 1:48Speaker 6: forty seventh congratulations? Oh my god, I heard you backstage
- 1:52Speaker 6: and you said something to the effect of this the
- 1:54Speaker 6: most dramatic cruise ever ever.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:57Speaker 6: I watched a Netflix documentary about a cruise that broke
- 2:01Speaker 6: down and everyone had a poop in bags. So hey,
- 2:05Speaker 6: by the way, bad news, guys. The bathroom's broken, so
- 2:09Speaker 6: just kidding.
- 2:10Speaker 4: And we've run out of fish. Coming up next, maybe,
- 2:17Speaker 4: with all due respect to Sean Lowe, the greatest bachelor
- 2:22Speaker 4: we have ever had.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I agree America's bachelor.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Although a bachelor no more. His heart has been taken,
- 2:29Speaker 4: his heart has been won.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Sorry's beautiful daughter, winning.
- 2:33Speaker 4: People Magazines, forty seventh and a half Sexiest Man. You
- 2:40Speaker 4: beat him by point five. Ladies and gentlemen, Ben Higgins,
- 2:46Speaker 4: sorry about that.
- 2:47Speaker 5: You almost you almost beat.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Well This has always been the more attractive.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Guys. Thank you for being here.
- 2:54Speaker 4: It's been an amazing week we have gotten to spind together.
- 2:57Speaker 4: I wish the crews could really just be hey out
- 3:00Speaker 4: with the three of us all week because it's a
- 3:03Speaker 4: bunch of nonsense and a lot of great golf. And
- 3:06Speaker 4: we are gonna talk a lot about our just golf
- 3:08Speaker 4: game tonight because what we found our research shows.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys love golf.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Golf stories.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Yeah, now what I would what I would love to start.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Let's get into the nitty gritty and we're gonna come
- 3:18Speaker 4: to you in a little bit because the most fun
- 3:21Speaker 4: we have is taking questions from all of you.
- 3:23Speaker 5: And we'll get to.
- 3:24Speaker 4: That in a bit, but first give us a story
- 3:28Speaker 4: a moment if you will, I'll give you a chance
- 3:31Speaker 4: to wait. We'll start with Wells, something we don't know
- 3:34Speaker 4: that happened on the show. It could be while you
- 3:37Speaker 4: were bartending, hosting, or when you were about to get
- 3:41Speaker 4: dumped by Jojoe whatever.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Thanks for bringing your sure is it too soon?
- 3:46Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 3:46Speaker 3: You know in Argentina, I got my arm broken by.
- 3:52Speaker 6: I have so many funny stories from the show, and
- 3:55Speaker 6: it's it's unfortunate because all my stuff gets cut.
- 3:58Speaker 3: From the show.
- 3:59Speaker 6: I'm hilarious, but you guys have no idea because it's
- 4:03Speaker 6: left in the cutting room floor.
- 4:04Speaker 3: But I think that my favorite story that like people.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Don't know about, that I thought was going to be
- 4:09Speaker 6: a storyline, but then like looking back, obviously it wasn't.
- 4:12Speaker 6: Was when we were filming Bachelorette. So you're traveling around
- 4:17Speaker 6: with twenty five just agro dudes all around the world.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Right, you got.
- 4:24Speaker 6: Chad who's eating meat and on way too many steroids,
- 4:27Speaker 6: a lot of protein, so much protein, and someone moved
- 4:33Speaker 6: his protein powder and that was a bad day. But
- 4:37Speaker 6: what ended up happening is we started traveling around the world.
- 4:41Speaker 6: We went to Nemicole in Pennsylvania, then we went down
- 4:44Speaker 6: to Uruguay, then we went to Argentina, and then I
- 4:46Speaker 6: got dumped there and then I think they went somewhere else.
- 4:49Speaker 6: But every time that we would go into the bath
- 4:52Speaker 6: we were sharing one bathroom for like twenty five guys
- 4:55Speaker 6: and We'd go into the bathroom and there would be
- 4:59Speaker 6: a log still in there every day, and we started
- 5:08Speaker 6: calling this person the poop bandit, and we filmed an
- 5:12Speaker 6: entire scene of us trying to figure out who the
- 5:15Speaker 6: poop bandit was. I think it was Jordan Rogers. I
- 5:23Speaker 6: am almost one hundred percent.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Let's just go with that, but but.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I think it.
- 5:28Speaker 6: I think Chad started it, but then we kicked him off,
- 5:30Speaker 6: and then Jordan was like, the poop bandit must live.
- 5:34Speaker 5: Enjoy your desserts.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yes, I've had two poop jokes tonight.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Now I regret that question altogether. You know what, It's
- 5:43Speaker 4: not lost on me that I am sitting between two
- 5:46Speaker 4: guys that both made out with Jojo. One got dumped
- 5:52Speaker 4: by her, the other broke up with her.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Yeah, whoa, Ben, what were you thinking?
- 5:59Speaker 5: She's amazing?
- 6:00Speaker 3: She's a great girl. Man.
- 6:04Speaker 2: My story was going to be not similar, but I'll
- 6:06Speaker 2: try to yeah something, let's.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Try to move off. Yeah, the toilet.
- 6:10Speaker 2: So here's a crazy story about my time as the Bachelor. Okay,
- 6:14Speaker 2: the week before he started filming, my best friend in
- 6:16Speaker 2: the world me Chris Harrison. No, he gets married in
- 6:22Speaker 2: Honduras and I go down there go to this wedding.
- 6:27Speaker 3: They let me go. I come back and I'm sick
- 6:31Speaker 3: in multiple ways. I'm sick.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I lose thirty pounds on The Bachelor, I get. If
- 6:37Speaker 2: you watch the season from start to finish, you'll see it.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I ended the show at like one hundred and seventy
- 6:42Speaker 2: five pounds, and I'm not like a short person. They
- 6:45Speaker 2: had to keep tailoring my suits down to me because
- 6:49Speaker 2: they do that. And we have this guy on the show,
- 6:51Speaker 2: carry Fetman. He's an amazing guy, and he just kept
- 6:53Speaker 2: tailoring these suits down to me. I get on the
- 6:57Speaker 2: flight home from the show and my stomach just locks up.
- 7:01Speaker 3: On the flight.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I go to the hospital. They send me to the hospital.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I have a parasite in my gut. I go two
- 7:09Speaker 2: weeks of like almost like chemo type medication to get
- 7:14Speaker 2: rid of this parasite that has eaten through my stomach.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Lining still to this day, I have issues from this
- 7:20Speaker 2: still to this day. If you watch the show from
- 7:23Speaker 2: start to finish, so imagine being a software salesman from Denver, Colorado,
- 7:30Speaker 2: working in a cubicle, becoming the Bachelor with all the
- 7:34Speaker 2: cameras and being like sick, not feeling good.
- 7:38Speaker 3: The whole time and still trying.
- 7:40Speaker 2: To go through this show, and the show kept saying,
- 7:43Speaker 2: You're stressed, You're anxious, you're tired, And I get why
- 7:46Speaker 2: they were saying that.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I was all of those things.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yes, but we find out later I had a worm
- 7:53Speaker 2: growing in my gut for three months.
- 7:56Speaker 5: This is not the show I thought we were going
- 7:58Speaker 5: to do tonight.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Nobody knows that story. It's a good story, Yeah, it's
- 8:03Speaker 3: a good story.
- 8:04Speaker 5: By the look on her face, I'm not sure that's
- 8:06Speaker 5: a good story.
- 8:06Speaker 2: By the way, I don't know if anybody knows this.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Samantha just got engaged last night.
- 8:10Speaker 6: Oh my god, Samantha, hold on, breaking news. Let's see
- 8:15Speaker 6: the Neil Lane ring.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Break breaking news. This is in I'm being told from
- 8:22Speaker 5: What's that?
- 8:24Speaker 4: Because of those stories, you are now the fifty six
- 8:26Speaker 4: sexiest man.
- 8:28Speaker 5: You're not even on the list anymore.
- 8:29Speaker 7: Dang it.
- 8:30Speaker 4: The worm story, I will say, it's of hosting both
- 8:36Speaker 4: shows for so many years. When we would shoot in
- 8:38Speaker 4: the mansion, you would think that maybe the guys would
- 8:44Speaker 4: be worse, but both shows were kind of the same.
- 8:47Speaker 4: We shot in the mansion and they basically used the
- 8:50Speaker 4: main bathroom all of them, and when the when we
- 8:54Speaker 4: were shooting the bachelom it was all the bacherettes. It
- 8:57Speaker 4: took a hazmat crew to go in that bathroom when
- 8:59Speaker 4: you had twenty women all getting ready in that in
- 9:02Speaker 4: one bathroom. My god, it was horrifying in there. The
- 9:06Speaker 4: guys honestly weren't that bad.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Well on by season there was a poop bandit.
- 9:14Speaker 6: One of my favorite things about Paradise is, thank you
- 9:18Speaker 6: one person likes that show.
- 9:21Speaker 5: That's kind of what it feels like. The ratings.
- 9:26Speaker 4: We have one point two people, so we have tens
- 9:31Speaker 4: of fans.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Oh, it used to be good, so too soon.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I'm still employed by them and relax.
- 9:43Speaker 6: So rose ceremonies are the meanest things in the world,
- 9:49Speaker 6: and especially when we film them in Mexico, it's so hot.
- 9:54Speaker 6: We decide to film the show in their monsoon season,
- 9:58Speaker 6: so it is it's June.
- 10:00Speaker 8: It is always don't forget crab season and also crab
- 10:04Speaker 8: season not the STD kind that too. I mean, maybe
- 10:09Speaker 8: I don't know. Things got weird in the Fantasy Suite.
- 10:11Speaker 6: But it's so hot there and all these girls put
- 10:16Speaker 6: on all this makeup because obviously they're gonna be on TV,
- 10:18Speaker 6: and they want to look their best, and you do
- 10:23Speaker 6: a roast ceremony. It takes you remember hours, right, you
- 10:27Speaker 6: have to stand there and you're doing all this stuff,
- 10:29Speaker 6: and I just remember I'm the bartender. So I'm like
- 10:31Speaker 6: looking like through the bar up into the thing and
- 10:36Speaker 6: all these girls make up it's just melching off their face.
- 10:41Speaker 6: And I remember thinking, this is so mean that they're
- 10:46Speaker 6: on national TV and they're melting.
- 10:50Speaker 4: We By the way, since we're talking about ROAs ceremonies,
- 10:53Speaker 4: can we dispell some rumors you were the Bachelor? Can
- 10:56Speaker 4: we talk about how a rose ceremony works? Because everybody
- 10:59Speaker 4: wants to know because you're brilliant, But does the like
- 11:05Speaker 4: you can't remember seventeen girls' names in a row?
- 11:09Speaker 5: So how do they do it?
- 11:10Speaker 4: Are the names written on the roses? Do they tell
- 11:12Speaker 4: you in your ear? How do you do it?
- 11:15Speaker 2: It's a good question and it's probably the most common question.
- 11:19Speaker 2: So every four people you kind of get to leave,
- 11:24Speaker 2: and so they'll give you a list of six. You
- 11:26Speaker 2: go back and you're like, Okay, here's my order, here's
- 11:29Speaker 2: who I want to pick, and they say, here's the
- 11:32Speaker 2: order you're going to give it in?
- 11:33Speaker 3: Or what order do you want to give it in.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Here's your next six.
- 11:37Speaker 2: So you go back, especially on night one, you don't
- 11:39Speaker 2: nobody's names, like these are all strangers to you. So
- 11:43Speaker 2: you go back to this room, you remember six people's names,
- 11:48Speaker 2: go back out, say it, and then you say, I
- 11:50Speaker 2: just need a break.
- 11:51Speaker 3: I just need a break, and you leave again. The
- 11:53Speaker 3: show doesn't tell you do this. If you want to.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Name all of them on your own, you could. There's
- 11:58Speaker 2: just no human in the world that would remember twenty
- 12:01Speaker 2: people's names all in one night. So you go back,
- 12:06Speaker 2: you remember them, you go back out, and then you
- 12:08Speaker 2: step back again, and you do it about four times
- 12:10Speaker 2: until you get through the night. There's no names on
- 12:12Speaker 2: your hand, there's no names on the roses. It makes
- 12:15Speaker 2: sense that you can't remember everybody's name.
- 12:19Speaker 4: But we always felt and they said why did you
- 12:20Speaker 4: do that? The reason was we always felt there was
- 12:22Speaker 4: this line we never wanted to cross, even if Ben said,
- 12:25Speaker 4: this is who we wanted to keep. And the reason
- 12:28Speaker 4: we decide the order is it's just TV stuff. You
- 12:31Speaker 4: want to bounce from side to side so you don't
- 12:34Speaker 4: notice it, but to your eye it looks better on
- 12:36Speaker 4: TV when we're bouncing side to side. And so Ben
- 12:39Speaker 4: would say, this is who I want to keep, and
- 12:42Speaker 4: then we decide the order. The director a lot of
- 12:44Speaker 4: times will decide the order depending on where they're lined up.
- 12:47Speaker 4: And the reason we didn't ever put a bug in
- 12:49Speaker 4: their ear or bride it on the roses or whatever.
- 12:52Speaker 4: We always wanted that freedom of thought. We always wanted
- 12:55Speaker 4: Ben to have that freedom to say in the middle
- 12:58Speaker 4: of a roase ceremony, what's your name? Yeah, or call
- 13:03Speaker 4: out the wrong name hopefully, but no, to have the
- 13:06Speaker 4: to have a change of heart and say, you know what,
- 13:08Speaker 4: that's not what I want to do. And we always
- 13:10Speaker 4: felt if we were telling you Kelly A, Kelly B,
- 13:13Speaker 4: Kelly C a lot of Kelly's, uh, you know that
- 13:16Speaker 4: you could change your mind. And so we just never
- 13:19Speaker 4: crossed that line.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I remember the second Rose ceremony, standing up there and
- 13:24Speaker 2: blanking because you're nervous.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not a.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Trained professional, You're coming off of a cubicle job. You're
- 13:31Speaker 2: nervous in front of these beautiful people. And I remember
- 13:35Speaker 2: in the morning, it's four in the morning. I blanked
- 13:37Speaker 2: on names and I got lucky, but I remember got lucky.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I remember having this like anxiety insidey came out there.
- 13:45Speaker 5: If you just say Lauren.
- 13:46Speaker 4: If you say Lauren, you're probably gonna do Okay.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I want Kelly and Lauren. And that's how he got engaged.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Is there a Laura.
- 13:57Speaker 6: I believe there's a Lauren here one.
- 14:01Speaker 3: This is true. I mean I was so nervous.
- 14:05Speaker 6: I was thinking about rose ceremonies, and I remember being
- 14:09Speaker 6: in that moment of waiting to get a rose, and
- 14:13Speaker 6: I remember figuring out if I was going to get
- 14:16Speaker 6: a rose or I wasn't going to get a rose
- 14:18Speaker 6: by what the cameras are doing. And I'll be like, man,
- 14:22Speaker 6: no cameras being pointed at me, I'm screwed. And then
- 14:25Speaker 6: all of a sudden it.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Would be like right on me, like yes, it's my time.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Or it's like someone I didn't like so that they
- 14:34Speaker 6: knew that I would be upset that they got the
- 14:36Speaker 6: rose and I didn't. And it's a weird thing that
- 14:38Speaker 6: you can see, like the camera's pointing at you mean,
- 14:40Speaker 6: like this is my time.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I get question obviously somebody like how scripted is it?
- 14:46Speaker 2: I would say it was never scripted. I I have
- 14:49Speaker 2: no memories of being told, hey, this is what you're
- 14:52Speaker 2: gonna do, and this is what you're gonna say. It
- 14:53Speaker 2: was a lot of let's talk this through.
- 14:55Speaker 3: What do you want to do?
- 14:56Speaker 2: Okay, here's probably the best way to do it. I
- 14:59Speaker 2: love this person, Caitlin Bristow.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I think one of the best bachelorettes of all time.
- 15:04Speaker 5: She gets good TV.
- 15:05Speaker 2: She was wild, absolutely wild, and she's one of my
- 15:09Speaker 2: I just think the world of her.
- 15:11Speaker 3: But I was roommates. Here's a story.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I was roommates with Sean Booth, who ended up, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 2: getting engaged with Caitlin, and it was a very real
- 15:19Speaker 2: and serious relationship. So we're in San Antonio, like week four,
- 15:23Speaker 2: and it's two in the morning and our hotel door
- 15:26Speaker 2: opens up and this cute little girl comes skipping in
- 15:31Speaker 2: and it's Caitlyn, who had snuck out of her room
- 15:34Speaker 2: away from the producers, into our shared bedroom and we're
- 15:39Speaker 2: both I just production loved this.
- 15:42Speaker 3: By the way, Yeah, they had no clue. I was
- 15:45Speaker 3: so excited.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Sean was so excited, and we're like, hey, Kaitlyn, and
- 15:50Speaker 2: she just like hops into Sean's bed and I'm laying
- 15:54Speaker 2: in this cot At this time, we would rotate beds,
- 15:56Speaker 2: like at one location he would get the queen like
- 15:59Speaker 2: the main bed, I would get the sidebed. This one
- 16:00Speaker 2: I had the side bed, and so it made sense,
- 16:04Speaker 2: and I thought we were all going to stip in chat.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Very quickly I realized I was not invited to this party.
- 16:10Speaker 5: You weren't even the.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Third one was.
- 16:12Speaker 5: I was like, you're in the fifth wheel.
- 16:13Speaker 2: So here's how the night plays out, and I'll tell
- 16:15Speaker 2: it quickly. Nobody knows she's there. I realize I'm not invited.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I go to the bathroom with a pillow and a
- 16:23Speaker 2: blanket and I lay on the floor in this bathroom.
- 16:25Speaker 2: If you listen to her podcast, I share this story.
- 16:28Speaker 2: She knows that I remember very clearly, and they spend
- 16:36Speaker 2: the night, or we all spend the night, whatever you
- 16:38Speaker 2: want to call it.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Gensus.
- 16:41Speaker 8: This is a weird threesome story, worst threesome ever.
- 16:45Speaker 2: In the morning, the production comes to wake us up,
- 16:48Speaker 2: and she's still in our room. She jumps on the
- 16:51Speaker 2: floor and Sean takes his comforter and throws it off
- 16:55Speaker 2: the bed and covers her up, and they come in
- 16:57Speaker 2: and they're like, hey, it's time to get up.
- 16:59Speaker 3: She's on the floor next to her bed.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Then she goes back to her room, nobody knows about this.
- 17:04Speaker 2: For a week and a half, nobody says a word,
- 17:06Speaker 2: and then she tells her handler. I snuck into Ben
- 17:10Speaker 2: and Shawn's room, and they knew that I was not
- 17:14Speaker 2: that important, and so they come to me and they say, hey, Ben,
- 17:18Speaker 2: how are you feeling about all this?
- 17:20Speaker 5: That's awesome?
- 17:20Speaker 3: Yeah, not great. I have a bear of site. I
- 17:25Speaker 3: don't think I have belong here any longer.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And so Caitlyn I have this beautiful conversation that reconnected us.
- 17:31Speaker 2: But that's something that was never shown. That was a
- 17:34Speaker 2: huge part of the story, especially my story, and I
- 17:36Speaker 2: think the show's story that I knew early on I
- 17:39Speaker 2: had a lot of work to do to catch up
- 17:41Speaker 2: to the person in the bed next to me.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Shall we open it up to questions?
- 17:57Speaker 4: I think so this is our favorite part, because what
- 17:59Speaker 4: do we really love to talk about?
- 18:01Speaker 5: It is whatever y'all would mean.
- 18:02Speaker 3: As much as I want to talk about the poop band,
- 18:04Speaker 3: it's some pore.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Please help us get away from that. So there's a
- 18:07Speaker 4: microphone in the back. If you have a question, jump
- 18:09Speaker 4: in line. Hi, you're there, give us your name and
- 18:11Speaker 4: fire away.
- 18:12Speaker 9: Hi.
- 18:13Speaker 3: I'm Laurie, not Lauren.
- 18:16Speaker 5: I want to say hi to Ben and to Wells.
- 18:19Speaker 7: I think Bachelor is a great show and I love it.
- 18:23Speaker 10: So I want a contest to be here tonight.
- 18:27Speaker 5: Thank you very supportive.
- 18:30Speaker 3: I love it girl relations.
- 18:32Speaker 5: But I did not get a meet and greet, so
- 18:36Speaker 5: I'm begging.
- 18:39Speaker 7: Is there any way I could get a picture fantasy
- 18:41Speaker 7: sweet with Ben?
- 18:42Speaker 6: Yes? Yes, yes, well the show ends with Ben taking
- 18:45Speaker 6: his shirt off.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Just so you guys know, I'm asking.
- 18:48Speaker 10: For just a picture, not anything else.
- 18:51Speaker 5: We will make sure, we will make sure that happens.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Yes, yes, all right, thank you.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Rough first question didn't give us a lot of room
- 19:01Speaker 5: to go.
- 19:02Speaker 11: Hello.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Hello, Mine's Grace.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Hey, Grace, so excited to be here. Everybody say Grace,
- 19:09Speaker 5: you get it?
- 19:09Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 19:10Speaker 10: Okay, So I know you guys all have a lot
- 19:13Speaker 10: of podcasts hosted guests.
- 19:15Speaker 3: I've listened to him. We love him.
- 19:17Speaker 10: If you could pick a dream guest to interview on
- 19:20Speaker 10: a podcast, Bachelor or not, who would you pick?
- 19:23Speaker 3: Oo?
- 19:25Speaker 2: I mean, mine has unfortunately passed away, but Anthony Bourdain
- 19:29Speaker 2: is like my he's my dude.
- 19:33Speaker 3: And I great memoir.
- 19:34Speaker 10: I read it.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all the stuff about him is incredible. Like
- 19:38Speaker 2: I still watch no reservations like weekly to go to bed,
- 19:43Speaker 2: so like I would, he would always come to the
- 19:45Speaker 2: top of my list. I just wish there was a
- 19:47Speaker 2: moment I could meet him because I think he just
- 19:48Speaker 2: was like a rock star.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Yeah, good answer, good answered, one good one.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Great show too. No one everybody's tried. It's like often imitated,
- 19:58Speaker 4: never equaled. Everybody's tried to do it. Show like that,
- 20:00Speaker 4: I'm gonna go around the world and nobody does it
- 20:03Speaker 4: like him. No one's a storyteller and honestly, no one's
- 20:06Speaker 4: a tortured soul like him. Because that went into it
- 20:09Speaker 4: that you could feel that through the show.
- 20:11Speaker 5: It was brilliant.
- 20:12Speaker 4: I would say, I'm a Texas boy, and so I
- 20:16Speaker 4: am a diehard Willie fan, and I think just sitting
- 20:20Speaker 4: down with Willie Nelson not a big smoker, but on
- 20:23Speaker 4: that night, I would be yeah, because I think when
- 20:26Speaker 4: in Rome, yes, smoke weed with Willie, that would be
- 20:31Speaker 4: that would be top.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Of my list.
- 20:32Speaker 3: And then shaking the corner, you know.
- 20:37Speaker 6: Before I was on The Bachelor or Bachelor in Paradise,
- 20:40Speaker 6: I was a radio host for twelve years in Nashville,
- 20:44Speaker 6: so I interviewed everybody. So I have a lot of
- 20:47Speaker 6: like really cool stories of getting to meet my heroes.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Willy wasn't one of them, unfortunately, but I did get
- 20:54Speaker 3: to smoke weed with never Mind.
- 21:02Speaker 5: That's an example of why we don't do drugs.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Yes, to be honest with you, I've done this one
- 21:09Speaker 6: and I stick by it. I've had my wife on
- 21:14Speaker 6: my shows multiple times and shut cheating such up.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Yeah, never mind interview my wife. It was kid rock. Okay,
- 21:24Speaker 3: it was at a karaoke bar whatever.
- 21:27Speaker 6: No, but yeah, like having my wife on is very fun,
- 21:30Speaker 6: and like hearing I was there at the end of
- 21:32Speaker 6: her run at Modern Family, and so I got to
- 21:34Speaker 6: experience everyone and meet everyone. But hearing the old stories
- 21:38Speaker 6: of like the beginning of that show is always very special.
- 21:43Speaker 3: He's a good huss You know what's bizarre is.
- 21:46Speaker 4: I was at ABC obviously for a long time.
- 21:50Speaker 5: I met Wells's wife.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Yeah, probably like twelve years before they met.
- 21:55Speaker 3: You both met her before I.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Did, and so yeah, so I was on the first
- 21:59Speaker 4: time I think was on the view and i'd taken
- 22:02Speaker 4: my daughter. I have this amazing picture of my young
- 22:04Speaker 4: daughter at the time. She's now twenty one. She's probably
- 22:07Speaker 4: like nine or ten at the time, and a very
- 22:09Speaker 4: young Sarah Hyland on the set of the View with
- 22:11Speaker 4: Barbara Walters. It's I always like once a year. I
- 22:14Speaker 4: always send it to Sarah.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Yeah, but the.
- 22:18Speaker 6: You know, the the question I get asked a lot
- 22:20Speaker 6: about my wife is like, how did we meet? And honestly,
- 22:23Speaker 6: it was because of Twitter, because she's part of vaccination
- 22:26Speaker 6: and her and her mom used to like watch the
- 22:29Speaker 6: show obsessively, and so her mom liked me, and weirdly enough,
- 22:35Speaker 6: I went on the after the final Rows and we
- 22:38Speaker 6: were talking about bad Chad, the guy who ate a
- 22:40Speaker 6: lot of protein and was on steroids, and I said
- 22:46Speaker 6: something to the effect of like, I don't want to
- 22:47Speaker 6: piggy him, because I was referencing Lord of the Flies.
- 22:51Speaker 6: I was like, I don't want to kind of gang
- 22:53Speaker 6: up on him. But then I was like, but I
- 22:54Speaker 6: do think we should talk about him. He's Valdemorre, like
- 22:58Speaker 6: he who cannot be named, And she tweeted out, I
- 23:02Speaker 6: like this guy. I didn't know people from The Bachelor
- 23:05Speaker 6: could read. And I was like, that's a really funny tweet.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I like that.
- 23:10Speaker 6: Also, those are both books for like teenagers, So.
- 23:16Speaker 5: Thank you, Grace. What's your question?
- 23:19Speaker 11: Hi, I'm Jackie. Question is for Chris Harrison. If ABC
- 23:24Speaker 11: called you up and said we really want you, We'll
- 23:28Speaker 11: give you whatever you want.
- 23:30Speaker 3: I want to ask for sol would you.
- 23:31Speaker 11: Do it and what would your demands be?
- 23:35Speaker 4: That Ben and Wells would be with me? Who should
- 23:39Speaker 4: have been the host in the first place?
- 23:41Speaker 5: But I digress.
- 23:43Speaker 4: They should they should have been the host.
- 23:48Speaker 5: The answer is no, but the very good reason.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Look, it was an amazing love affair for a long time,
- 23:55Speaker 4: and as someone who's now married for the second time,
- 23:58Speaker 4: I think you are with people, and people come into
- 24:00Speaker 4: your life for a.
- 24:01Speaker 5: Season for a reason, and that show was.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Wonderful to me and my family, I think for a season,
- 24:08Speaker 4: and I think to go back would be to try
- 24:12Speaker 4: to rekindle an old romance. That's that's gone. That season
- 24:16Speaker 4: in my life is gone. And so the answer would
- 24:19Speaker 4: be no, you know, for for no bitter reasons. Again,
- 24:24Speaker 4: I adore the show. I will always have fondness and
- 24:26Speaker 4: love in my heart for it, for the friendships I made,
- 24:29Speaker 4: for the people in front of the camera, behind the camera,
- 24:32Speaker 4: so many wonder I traveled the world, you know, I
- 24:34Speaker 4: had never really traveled much in my life. The way
- 24:36Speaker 4: I grew up and I had, you know, no business
- 24:39Speaker 4: being in Hollywood, but this show gave me the ability
- 24:41Speaker 4: to travel the world and see every corner of it
- 24:43Speaker 4: ten times over. So a lot of blessings came from it.
- 24:46Speaker 4: But to try to get back into that relationship, you know,
- 24:51Speaker 4: I wouldn't be there for the right.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Reasons, thank you.
- 24:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Well, let's be clear.
- 24:58Speaker 2: The best host in a America, right.
- 25:06Speaker 4: But also how wells isn't hosting Paradise is beyond mea
- 25:12Speaker 4: has there ever been a bigger layup in television.
- 25:15Speaker 5: History at this He's made for the beach exactly.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Someone's got to get him drunk.
- 25:20Speaker 5: I mean the chest hair just carefully coming out.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Of the top of the shirt.
- 25:26Speaker 5: That's no accident, ladies.
- 25:28Speaker 6: I'll tell it behind the scenes story. There was a
- 25:30Speaker 6: season after your chest hair, Yes, and it is glorious.
- 25:37Speaker 6: There was a season that you were gone and we
- 25:39Speaker 6: were trying to figure out who was going to host it,
- 25:41Speaker 6: and I was. I was supposed to host the entire season,
- 25:44Speaker 6: but then at the end they brought in like David
- 25:47Speaker 6: Spade and a bunch of people. But what was supposed
- 25:50Speaker 6: to happen? It was supposed to be me and my
- 25:53Speaker 6: wife hosting the show. That would have been great, And
- 25:57Speaker 6: to me, that was the easiest home run and we
- 26:01Speaker 6: were and it like fell through, like didn't work. And
- 26:04Speaker 6: I'm so bummed because how fun would that have been
- 26:07Speaker 6: to get to work.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Slowly, just keep bringing people on from modern Family like
- 26:11Speaker 4: that O'Neil's Sophia.
- 26:28Speaker 10: Hi, I'm Samantha, Sam.
- 26:30Speaker 5: I want your you know know where? You can't call
- 26:32Speaker 5: her Sam? I can Sam and I go away with Sam?
- 26:35Speaker 6: Is it okay if I called you Sam, It's okay.
- 26:36Speaker 11: Thank you?
- 26:38Speaker 10: I want your real honest opinions on Taylor Frankie Paul
- 26:41Speaker 10: as the next bachelorette.
- 26:44Speaker 4: We'll defer, we will kick Wells has the guy who
- 26:47Speaker 4: still works for Disney.
- 26:50Speaker 6: I think it's a I think it's gonna be a
- 26:52Speaker 6: really good season. I do think that, Like if you
- 26:55Speaker 6: look at what Paradise was this last season, it was
- 26:58Speaker 6: a season of change and things the things needed to
- 27:02Speaker 6: change up. I think we rested on our laurels for
- 27:05Speaker 6: too long, and so I like the direction of where
- 27:09Speaker 6: Paradise is going, and I like the idea of bringing
- 27:12Speaker 6: in the really big star to inject that show with
- 27:17Speaker 6: a lot of star power. I'm interested to see the
- 27:21Speaker 6: guys that come on the show. I think that's gonna
- 27:25Speaker 6: be fun to watch. And then in turn, I'm very
- 27:30Speaker 6: excited to see the guys that she doesn't like come
- 27:33Speaker 6: to Paradise because I think that will be very fun.
- 27:38Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I don't work for Disney, so I have nothing to lose.
- 27:42Speaker 5: You know.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I think the most interesting thing with this announcement of
- 27:46Speaker 2: her being the Bachelor is the fans response, and it
- 27:49Speaker 2: is split, right. I mean, there are some things that
- 27:53Speaker 2: we know about her past that were like, Hey, you're
- 27:55Speaker 2: still deserving of love. I still want you to find love,
- 27:59Speaker 2: but is this the best place to do it? Like,
- 28:02Speaker 2: is the Bachelorette really going to fit this narrative? And
- 28:05Speaker 2: how do we make it make sense that, like you
- 28:07Speaker 2: are authentically looking for your partner. We don't know that yet,
- 28:11Speaker 2: so I don't have a judgment on that, but I
- 28:12Speaker 2: think it's my question, it's a lot of people's questions,
- 28:15Speaker 2: is where do you go from here? And I think
- 28:18Speaker 2: it's the biggest question for the show, and it has
- 28:20Speaker 2: been for the last five years, is how do you
- 28:24Speaker 2: move forward with a fan base with this announcement. So
- 28:29Speaker 2: I'm intrigued at how they make this something successful and
- 28:33Speaker 2: sustainable because at this point, I don't know how you
- 28:36Speaker 2: make it sustainable when you when you announce her as
- 28:38Speaker 2: your bachelorette, when for years you've had your relatable common
- 28:43Speaker 2: human coming in with the pursuit of love and love,
- 28:46Speaker 2: only now you have a celebrity with a platform and
- 28:51Speaker 2: a following coming in. And I think, I honestly think
- 28:55Speaker 2: it could be a home run, but it could also
- 28:57Speaker 2: be a very very bad.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Season for the show following it.
- 29:03Speaker 5: We will see, thank you.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I think it's a question, though, do you think it
- 29:07Speaker 2: was a good move? Like, I mean, it's a it's
- 29:10Speaker 2: an exciting move. My wife is going to watch it
- 29:12Speaker 2: and she's never watched the show because she's like, I'm
- 29:14Speaker 2: intrigued to see the mess. But is it going to
- 29:19Speaker 2: be something long term as Bachelor Nation fans that you support?
- 29:24Speaker 3: I mean, I think that's a big question for the
- 29:27Speaker 3: fan base.
- 29:28Speaker 6: You Know something that I think is interesting about it
- 29:30Speaker 6: is you guys say it, and we say it on
- 29:33Speaker 6: the show a lot, and it's like being there for
- 29:34Speaker 6: the right reasons and.
- 29:35Speaker 9: Obviously yeah it's okay, And like, obviously she has a
- 29:45Speaker 9: huge platform because she has another television show.
- 29:48Speaker 6: So then I wonder if it's going to be a
- 29:50Speaker 6: thing amongst the guys. I don't know if this is
- 29:52Speaker 6: going to happen, but I could see it happening where
- 29:54Speaker 6: guys are going to be like, you're just here because
- 29:56Speaker 6: you want to be on another reality TV show with her,
- 30:00Speaker 6: You're not here for.
- 30:00Speaker 3: The right reasons.
- 30:01Speaker 6: I can see that being an issue already, and I
- 30:04Speaker 6: think that'll be fun TV to watch.
- 30:07Speaker 5: Thanks Sam, Thank you.
- 30:13Speaker 11: Hi.
- 30:13Speaker 5: I'm Pam.
- 30:15Speaker 7: So I've always wanted to know why on the first
- 30:18Speaker 7: night when everybody comes to the mansion, right, why is
- 30:24Speaker 7: it that there's always a bunch of girls who say
- 30:27Speaker 7: to each other, did you get any time with him?
- 30:29Speaker 7: Did you get time with them?
- 30:30Speaker 3: Now?
- 30:30Speaker 7: I guess you are shooting all night long? Is it
- 30:33Speaker 7: because the producers just pick and choose who they want
- 30:36Speaker 7: to talk to the bachelor or bachelorette or these girls
- 30:39Speaker 7: are just not brave enough to go and interrupt and
- 30:41Speaker 7: get time.
- 30:42Speaker 5: It's good questions that part.
- 30:47Speaker 3: The Italian sisters like that one.
- 30:53Speaker 4: We are hanging out with them tonight, so that night
- 30:59Speaker 4: is It's not scripted, but it's very produced because it
- 31:03Speaker 4: has to be, because it's absolute mayhem. When we started
- 31:06Speaker 4: the show with twenty women. Then you got to twenty
- 31:08Speaker 4: five manageable and we could even finish it by sun up.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Then all of a sudden, we're like, well, let's go
- 31:14Speaker 4: to thirty let's go to thirty five. And all of
- 31:16Speaker 4: a sudden, we had no It was like, sky's a limit.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Whoever showed up off the street, you're on the show.
- 31:22Speaker 4: And so there were so many people and it takes
- 31:26Speaker 4: just logistically production wise, it takes a long time to
- 31:29Speaker 4: set those things up and to have those moments and
- 31:32Speaker 4: to prep everybody and to shoot those and.
- 31:34Speaker 5: So it just goes quickly. And then we got to
- 31:37Speaker 5: pull Ben and you got to sit Ben down and
- 31:39Speaker 5: have a post interview, and then you put them back
- 31:41Speaker 5: in and so it's just a long night and you
- 31:45Speaker 5: just don't have enough time to talk to everybody.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Which is a big bummer. When you get to bigger numbers,
- 31:50Speaker 4: you get less time. And it's just math at that point.
- 31:54Speaker 4: And even though we started going till eight, nine, ten
- 31:57Speaker 4: in the morning, the sun's up, you know, all of
- 31:59Speaker 4: a sudden, the roster it's like, well, screw it, suns up,
- 32:01Speaker 4: We're just doing it. And so we just got to
- 32:05Speaker 4: the point where you got to pull the plug.
- 32:08Speaker 5: And you got to move on. And not everybody's gonna
- 32:10Speaker 5: have that moment.
- 32:11Speaker 4: Sometimes you would do it with if he had even
- 32:14Speaker 4: a brief good in, if you had a good entrance,
- 32:16Speaker 4: and we knew Ben might keep this girl like that's enough, she's.
- 32:19Speaker 5: Gonna go on. We'll we'll figure it out week two.
- 32:22Speaker 4: And so those nights are difficult because you do have
- 32:24Speaker 4: to make some tough calls, and those are it's more producers.
- 32:28Speaker 4: You really don't have the opportunity to just come in
- 32:31Speaker 4: and steal them on your own. That's set up, and
- 32:34Speaker 4: they'll tell you, okay, wells, you're gonna get Jojo. You're
- 32:37Speaker 4: gonna pull her by the fireside, you're gonna sit over there, and.
- 32:40Speaker 5: That's when you go POLLR. There's not a lot of
- 32:43Speaker 5: spontaneity that night.
- 32:44Speaker 2: And I mean I remember too, there isn't down time,
- 32:49Speaker 2: and so it really is like action packed, as Chris
- 32:52Speaker 2: was saying, there's it's not like I'm sitting out waiting
- 32:55Speaker 2: for an hour in a room and.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Nobody's getting to talk to me.
- 32:59Speaker 2: That night is just conversation after conversation after conversation, as
- 33:03Speaker 2: much as you can get in and I do think
- 33:04Speaker 2: it doesn't lend well for the shire person who's maybe
- 33:09Speaker 2: more nervous because they won't get a chance because they
- 33:13Speaker 2: haven't jumped on it early or put their name in
- 33:16Speaker 2: the line. But he's completely right. It doesn't feel. It
- 33:21Speaker 2: didn't feel like to me like hey, somebody was getting
- 33:23Speaker 2: pushed aside. It was just some people don't get a chance.
- 33:27Speaker 2: And it's ten in the morning. But and I don't
- 33:29Speaker 2: know if this is rare or not. I know for
- 33:32Speaker 2: a fact, I talked to every single person that came
- 33:36Speaker 2: in off the.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Limo in night one on my night.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I think if you watch it back, nobody would say
- 33:40Speaker 2: I didn't get any time.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Some batchels are adamant about it, like you. I mean, honestly,
- 33:45Speaker 4: you're a good guy, and so some batchers are just
- 33:47Speaker 4: better than going.
- 33:48Speaker 5: I'm not going.
- 33:50Speaker 3: She loves sleeping, you love it.
- 33:52Speaker 4: It's like every fifteen minutes, she's just gonna yell one
- 33:56Speaker 4: bottle of.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Yeah, no, you're right.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Bizarre Heckler ever, the Wan Pablo Heckler. This is Wan
- 34:05Speaker 4: Pablo's niece and nephew. But so it's it's a weird night,
- 34:08Speaker 4: and honestly it's it's the one night. To me, that
- 34:12Speaker 4: felt the most produced, because it has to be. I
- 34:16Speaker 4: always relished the next So back in the olden times
- 34:19Speaker 4: when I used to do the show and it was
- 34:20Speaker 4: in black and white and it was on film, So
- 34:25Speaker 4: first of all, we never had a day off. We
- 34:27Speaker 4: would do night one and we never had a dark
- 34:31Speaker 4: and what's called a dark day. We would finish at
- 34:34Speaker 4: I don't know, four, five, six in the morning, and
- 34:37Speaker 4: the next date started at ten am. So I remember
- 34:41Speaker 4: I would go in and be like, all right, welcome
- 34:43Speaker 4: to the mansion.
- 34:44Speaker 5: Move in. We would do the move in.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Shoot, everyone's like, oh, jumping on the bed, popping champagne
- 34:48Speaker 4: and they had not slept at all, and I was like, okay,
- 34:52Speaker 4: group date, and we would read out the names. I
- 34:54Speaker 4: just everybody was like, please Jesus, please do not pick me,
- 34:57Speaker 4: do not pick me.
- 34:58Speaker 5: I do not want to go to Vegas today. I
- 34:59Speaker 5: just want to go to bed.
- 35:01Speaker 4: So finally, honestly, because of union rules, we had to
- 35:05Speaker 4: start taking a dark day and everybody would sleep the
- 35:07Speaker 4: next day. Then the following day I would say, okay,
- 35:10Speaker 4: let's move into the mansion.
- 35:12Speaker 5: And it got a lot better.
- 35:13Speaker 4: But early days we never had that break and you
- 35:16Speaker 4: would just roll right into it. But I was relish
- 35:18Speaker 4: getting into the dates because then it was a lot
- 35:20Speaker 4: more genuine and even if it was a group date,
- 35:23Speaker 4: all of a sudden, the backtor would start getting a
- 35:25Speaker 4: lot more genuine time with the ladies.
- 35:27Speaker 2: People ask me this, and I'm trying to think. When
- 35:28Speaker 2: he's talking of questions, I could ask the hours, and
- 35:31Speaker 2: it is. It is a crazy gig. You start at
- 35:37Speaker 2: seven am with interviews and you're not done back to
- 35:39Speaker 2: your hotel room alone until one thirty two am in
- 35:43Speaker 2: the morning, and you're getting like six hours of sleep
- 35:46Speaker 2: at the most, and then you're waking up on camera again.
- 35:49Speaker 3: And I'm a big introvert, so by the time I
- 35:52Speaker 3: was done with this show, I was depleted.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Like everything inside of me was like, stop having some
- 35:57Speaker 2: handler follow me around, stop having this talking.
- 36:00Speaker 6: Hey, everyone feel bad for Ben for having thirty of
- 36:03Speaker 6: the most beautiful women lusting after him.
- 36:07Speaker 3: I know, so tough.
- 36:09Speaker 5: So many Lawrens, Oh, so many Lawrens.
