- Jaba: Hello everybody, welcome back to the Scout and the Speculator podcast. As always, this is Will Jarvis, also known as Jabba Cards, joined by my lovely co-host Jeremy Brown of Perfect Game Baseball, more importantly known as JGB underscore cards underscore. Today we have a little buy, sell, hold analysis ⁓ update for you all. We took eight of the kind of notable top names, ⁓ broke them down. Some buys, some sells, some holds, as you would expect. And then we're gonna talk about a couple cheaper autos that ⁓ we really like the price point right now. ⁓ before we get into it, ⁓ as always, this is brought to you by Prospect Pulse. That is prospectpulse v1.com, one of the co-hosts of Bowmania 2027. ⁓ hoping to see everybody there. I assume ⁓ the folks listening to these ⁓ will be ⁓ heavy proportion. of the individuals there. So ⁓ I think I speak for us both when I say we're really excited to ⁓ get down there, see some cards and meet ⁓ meet a lot of people. I think that's probably the part of it I'm most excited for. I mean we can transact with each other over Instagram all we want, but nothing beats you know, some of those in person connections. So buy sell hold, our number one guy here. underscore_underscore_: I think so. Yeah. Jaba: ⁓ at the top of our list, Luis Hernandez, he's selling for two hundred and thirty two dollars. What do you think? underscore_underscore_: I mean, that just like isn't feasible, right? Like that's just not an a a a sustainable number for his base auto. You you go look at some of the other top guys and start kind of comparing ⁓ right? And yes, he might be you're number one, two or three within the product. But he's a redemption. So th they might be quote unquote shorter printed base autos, so maybe that gives it a little more juice all throughout. ⁓ They are starting to fall, but they're not falling quite as fast as you think. I do think now would be a time to sell them. And then probably buy ⁓ back here in a little bit. ⁓ not going to the AFL, you're not gonna get a whole lot of new news about him. So just for a base auto that's averaging what, two hundred and thirty two dollars as we last updated it, that would be a sell for me at this point. But that's also kind of common knowledge, I feel, right? Like you you hit a chase kid in the first two weeks, it's probably a sell. Jaba: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and I I I feel like people are probably listening to this right now thinking, okay, well it's only two weeks after release, thirteen days after release, this buy sell hold is just gonna be saying to sell all the top guys. That's true for the top three, for sure, but I will say a lot of the kinda guys outside the top three in that four to fifteen range call it. A lot of those guys have kind of settled into prices where I have difficulty seeing them falling much more. ⁓ you know, guys like Slater de Brun already hair under twenty bucks. ⁓ we're not talking about him in this one. But, you know, a lot of those second tier names have fallen pretty quickly and I think ⁓ while a lot of them are probably a little overpriced, I I think the market is settling in a bit quicker than ⁓ than I think we both thought. So yeah. underscore_underscore_: Yeah. And you know what? This kind of shows how quickly it settles, right? Like today is the twenty third. We pulled these numbers, what, two days ago, maybe? Yesterday there was a flurry of base auto sales, and you're looking at 149, 172, 172, and 182. So from when we pulled it at a two thirty two, it's already down to like an average of probably like one sixty, call it. So maybe one seventy. So like it is it's dropping quick too. Jaba: Yeah. Which is still bananas. Yeah. underscore_underscore_: So that two thirty two from a couple days ago is already down to a one seventy, one sixty somewhere in that range. I'm not too sure that ⁓ I mean it it will keep going down, but at a certain point you have to like pause and be like, all right, well, if it gets any lower than whatever your threshold is for this particular prospect, you might get into a pie buy territory here quicker than it will be a sell, depending on obviously what it continues to do. Jaba: Yeah. Yeah, I I think for me, you know, if there's like you said, there was a flurry of activity yesterday. If we see something where the market just gets flooded with base autos and it just starts tanking, for me I think probably seventy five bucks is around that price point. ⁓ that I'm thinking of. I mean I'd love to get ⁓ at sixty. Not sure they'll ever go down to sixty. But, you know, anything in the triple digits I I I can't do and I think eighty five is really where I underscore_underscore_: Yep. Jaba: Start to be able to justify it and then 75's where I'd feel okay. you know, similar next two guys, the other two of our top three here that kind of separated themselves ⁓ before release. Angebal Gomez, who's trading at $90 after opening at $170. Francisco Renteria is at one sixty-three, still trading at a pretty big premium. Think it's interesting, ⁓ Yoswar's base auto was at 40. underscore_underscore_: Mm-hmm. Jaba: last January. you know, say what you want. I don't want to really get into comparing ⁓ Yoswar and Angel Gomez because I think that they're different players. Even if the ceilings I mean I think you could say the ceilings are probably somewhat similar right now. He should probably stabilize at fifty bucks. ⁓ you know underscore_underscore_: Mm-hmm. Jaba: Just hard to justify. I'm kind of surprised that he's far and away the lowest of that big three, but I also think. underscore_underscore_: Right. Jaba: He's probably known pretty far and wide as the number one chase in this. I think like you said earlier, people know, ⁓ you know, no matter how into Bowman they are, I think you know if you're pulling him, that's just like a okay, sell, sell, sell, you know, get it out. So I think that the volume of deals is probably just the highest on that. And then, you know, rentaria still being at one sixty three. I I really like the guy, but you know underscore_underscore_: Yep. Jaba: I I just don't really understand why it's still so high. I think that's another one that'll fall around fifty bucks. ⁓ and I'd be happy to buy it at fifty bucks. It's just kind of trying to catch a falling knife scenario here. You know, there's really no reason to kneecap yourself and go grab that before ⁓ you have to, especially with bases, 'cause that supply's obviously never gonna dry up. underscore_underscore_: Mm-hmm. Jaba: So that's the top three there. I think ⁓ we have five other names here. ⁓ which one of the five remaining names on our list stands out to you the most? What's exciting for you? underscore_underscore_: I'm looking again too, as I like to do as we do this in real time. And rent of rias already dipping below a hundred right now, too. Granted, that was a China sale at ninety-three. There was just ⁓ a best offer accepted at a hundred yesterday as well. So this just kind of shows in real time how quickly things kind of go down. ⁓ like you said, I don't know. I I don't know if renteria's are shorter printed base autos. It doesn't seem like they're they were being transacted as much like a Gomez was or if he's gonna be a wave two heavy kind of guy. ⁓ but either way, like like you said, ⁓ they're definitely on their way down. I think they're gonna continue to fall down. So wait, like we we've been saying, Rainel and I mean Rainiel and Joswar were both forty dollar autos. Kevin Alvarez you could have for twenty. Jo ⁓ Juniker you could have for fifteen. So like the the time of the bottom is coming. ⁓ the next grouping of guys, I mean, we have a couple That still kind of lean towards that sell. ⁓ go with the other redemption, Jarangelo Cinche. ⁓ that's another one. It'll be interesting to see what he does because people have been waiting for his autos for so long. He's a redemption only, he's got the name recognition and he's thrown really well. ⁓ with our numbers pulled, we had him at about a ⁓ $97 redemption. Which go find me another arm not named Seth or Cade. that we're selling for a hundred dollar base autos and you're not going to. I don't believe, off the top of my head. Like Right, but that was Jaba: Yeah. I mean Ion sent touched it briefly, but that was when he was throwing a hundred miles an hour and it already had a bunch of hype and the hundred miles an hour didn't stand up. underscore_underscore_: Exactly. Exactly. Which like I mean his yellow just did one seventy five and his purple's doing one forty five Durangelo. Like I have to imagine that these are just going to continue to fall. True blue did one eighty. I think that kinda tells you all you need to know right there is a true blue did one eighty on redemption. So I mean Jaba: Yeah. Yeah. That's not far off from where I think his blues will land. I I mean you're f free to debate me here, but I think of him as probably being a one hundred and fifty dollar blue. underscore_underscore_: No. Jaba: When the dust settles, maybe like a thirty dollar base, give or take a few bucks. And I I I think that's where he belongs. I mean, the numbers aren't as great as you would hope, but the positive trend is there, and he's in the high miners. So I I you know, I kinda think of him in that twenty-five dollar tier, maybe thirty, like a little bit ahead of guys like Zach Root, who just got the double A, struggled a little bit, but we like the stuff. ⁓ but yeah, I I've underscore_underscore_: Right. Yeah. Jaba: Kind of been fascinated with Sinche since the checklist came out. You know, when it came out, I thought that that was just like the worst place you could put your money. but he's really turned on the Jets here. Obviously, he's not just any other player with the switch pitching thing. I mean, when he debuts, which he definitely will, you know, unless he gets hurt, God forbid. you know, that's gonna be all over Twitter, X, Instagram. I I mean that that you will not underscore_underscore_: Yep. Hmm. Everywhere. Jaba: be able to not see that every day for a week. ⁓ So there's gonna be a huge pop with his stuff. I think people know that and that's priced in. ⁓ So yeah, I I've kind of changed my tune on Sinche. ⁓ Wandy is seeing underscore_underscore_: Yeah. And I was gonna just say with Girangelo, I think you're gonna really see his ⁓ base autos bottom out once they become live. I think once they're actually being transacted, people see the card, don't have to read the redemption, and people know they're out there, they're gonna start getting more redeemed and I just think once obviously once they go live, you're gonna see the value come down. As weird as that is. So Jaba: Yeah. Yeah, for sure. yeah, so I mean going neck next up we got Juan Diocean. he's still doing sixty three. his blues have been doing like underscore_underscore_: ⁓ Yeah. Jaba: Closer to a thousand. I mean, I'm I'm probably the biggest Mets fan you'll find and I do like the player. I think the contact rate and swinging strike is scary, but he's also seventeen with borderline superhuman exit velos. underscore_underscore_: Right. Jaba: It i it's just really hard for me to justify it. I mean Ellian Paina ⁓ last year, who kind of had similar hype, they're definitely different types of players. I think a CN has the higher ceiling while Peña is definitely the safer of the two. ⁓ Peña kinda settled at sixty and then he went down to thirty, twenty-five thirty, and then he was mid forties into fifty as spring started. I would put a C in right there. It's just just hard, you know, with all the other options, ⁓ to justify him at or near sixty bucks. I think at thirty or forty bucks it's a different conversation. But I think right now it's not only a matter of underscore_underscore_: Yep. Jaba: Do we like this guy's price, but is paying that price the best use of that money? I mean, like I said earlier, Slater to Brun trading at twenty bucks. I think Ossian's definitely more exciting. I do love Slater, but I think, you know, Osien's kinda got that huge ceiling, but I think it's pretty close. and you know, I'd rather have three Slators for one Ossian. underscore_underscore_: Makes sense. Jaba: That's kinda all there is. I'll let you take ⁓ the last arm, the second and final arm we got here. I think it's a very interesting one too. underscore_underscore_: Yeah. Yeah, Pride of Mexico here from Navajo. Navoja Navajoa. Mexico. ⁓ Christian Zazueta. He's six foot three, one sixty three. Had a hell of a year this year. Sub one whip. We love to see that. ⁓ We talked about him earlier, having that unicorn shape profile to the fastball, ⁓ without the metrics in front of me. All I can tell you is it And you hear unicorn, you hear you think mythical, you think like nobody else can kind of replicate it. That means either like his IVB's really good or his h horizontal on it. Like something on the metrics of it are really good, but without seeing numbers, I would just speculate. Saw tweet was up to ninety eight, which is kind of a niceish thing to see. Thought he was more of like a mid ninety, like scrape into the mid nineties, not get into that upper nineties. Jaba: Jesus. Yeah, I I I thought he was capping out at like ninety six. underscore_underscore_: Then have I've heard people say, well, he's an older arm. He's not. He's twenty-one in in double A. Like, had a three four, fifty-five innings, punched out seventy-eight with a two two five against. Like, all the signs are pointing to him being really good. ⁓ the one thing that's not pointing to him is the base auto price of hovering around just shy of sixty. If you told me to pick one between him and Cingche, it's a no brainer for me. I'm gonna take Jaba: Who cares? underscore_underscore_: Christian every single time. ⁓ in terms of just pure stuff, performance, organization, everything to go with that. I think Zazwetta has it going for him. but I I I mean, he's probably a buy at this point, honestly. Especially if he's still trending down by the time you guys hear this and go find some. You might be able to find him in that fifty dollar range. ⁓ he kind of fluctuates. He's had some really low sales and some really high sales all within the last day or two. Jaba: Yeah. Yeah. underscore_underscore_: But I myself just picked up a blue ray wave because it's just a really nice looking color match card. ⁓ but yeah, he is one that probably closer to debuting than not. I wouldn't be surprised next year. He's a top what, five arm in all of minor league baseball. And and he's going to the biggest like market in the world. Like he turns ⁓ my wife's birthday. He ⁓ he turns twenty two in October next Jaba: Yeah. He'll be twenty two, like underscore_underscore_: week, two weeks from now. Like do it. Put that on the Google map. Add it to the skylight. ⁓ but yeah, he I think he's a buy. Especially if like you're on whatnot. People might have some right name recognition there. But if they don't and they just see like a pitcher base auto and you can get it for like thirty bucks. Thirty five, even forty, I feel like that's a no brainer at this point. ⁓ just everything with it. Right? Like Jaba: Gotta add that to my calendar. I'll ⁓ I'll get the Carvel cake. Yeah. Yeah, I I'm with you a hundred percent. I mean Seth Seth's trading at one seventy six and underscore_underscore_: And he's on the down slope now. Like Jaba: Yeah, and I I I think apples to apples at the same price, I would probably go with Seth and I a hundred percent see why somebody would prefer Seth. I think it can make a great case either way, but I also think it's like a toss up. I mean at one seventy six, this is, you know, like I said with Assian, you know. I'd rather have three Slaters than one Assyon. I would much rather have four or five Zizuetas than one Seth Hernandez. And I really like Seth Hernandez, but that's crazy. ⁓ not to mention, you know, the Dodgers bump. underscore_underscore_: Mm-hmm. Right. Jaba: is ridiculous. ⁓ and again, I I I saw the same thing. Everyone's like, ⁓ you know, this is Weta's older. He's just been around forever. You know, he's one of those DSL arms. So I mean he started pitching professionally in twenty twenty two. So I get why it feels like that. But I mean not not everyone's Kendrichurio, right? Not everyone's gonna be eighteen and high A, you know, going nuts. And you know, I'm with you. If if he drops into the forties, I'm I'm gonna go I'm gonna go crazy. I'm gonna max out my credit card. underscore_underscore_: Yep. Mm-hmm. Like I think the color will follow to a degree. The blues might still hold a premium for color match, just like Ethan Holliday's true purples were holding better than his true blues at release. Like true blues, I don't know what they were doing, like 600 and his purples were still like at nine. ⁓ but I wouldn't I I would say if you have them hold ⁓ I wouldn't sell them now. I think there's a climb to come. Especially like just imagine he goes out with like the A squad during spring training. Jaba: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. underscore_underscore_: And just throws like four innings of like no hit baseball, touches ninety nine, like Jaba: Not even, honestly. If he goes out and throws two good innings, I mean the bar is so low and those spring training outings are so short. As long as he does he doesn't even have to pitch that well. As long as he strikes out like you know I I don't know. I'm trying to think of who they'd be playing. But underscore_underscore_: For sure. I mean if you put him in spring training and you have the the ⁓ La Granhe versus Judge and you have like Zazueta against Shohei or something, like just one of those ridiculous matchups, like I mean, yeah, my wife knows like Finn would know that, right? Like, ⁓ he struck out the best player, his stuff's gonna go up. Like no kidding. But the opportunity's there. Like, no offense, if he was in Colorado, like striking out T J Rumfield wasn't gonna move the market, but yeah. Jaba: Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, T J Rumfield just had a really nice rookie season. I saw one of his true blues at like eighty bucks the other day and I was like, Ugh. Yeah. N I underscore_underscore_: Saw that. I almost bought it and then I looked at comps and it like over comps and like, ⁓ god. And sorry for TJ catching astray there, but Jaba: Yeah, I mean I obviously understand why he's older in the Rockies, but I mean it is kinda one of those moments where you're like, ⁓ okay, that's why we sell before guys get called up or when they get called up. Again, sorry TJ, nothing personal, just kinda spreading facts. ⁓ next up we got Andy Azakar, another really interesting guy. I think we were we were pretty happy. ⁓ underscore_underscore_: Yep. Jaba: Eye on them at release. I know some other ⁓ bigger names ⁓ weren't huge fans of Azakar. His prices have been really high in terms of color. I know there were a couple true blacks that got snapped bought over a thousand. ⁓ I was kind of hoping to get those at like 800, you know, sent the offer, and then I was just sitting there like a bum. ⁓ you know, when they got bought two minutes later, I was like, okay, well. base went from 75 down to 26. It's sitting 36 over the last. underscore_underscore_: Yep. Yeah. Jaba: Five sales. Again, this is as of yesterday, so I mean it's it's very recent data, but that's likely moved a little bit in one way or another, but call it a 35 average. I mean, he was hot for the Red Sox, he was playing well, and then kind of right around the time of the trade into the remainder of the season, he was just one of the hottest guys in the miners. 21 homers, 20 steals, 86 RBIs, 64 extra race hits. I I mean we we looked at Love these DSL guys for their ceilings. But if any of I mean if any of these DSL guys, even Angevil Gomez, you know, puts up twenty twenty next year, we're gonna be jumping for joy. ⁓ you know, he's kinda doing what you hope for with these more speculative guys. I think, you know, for whatever reason, he's turned into, you know, a safer, more boring option. And he's definitely a bit safer, but I you know, if his underscore_underscore_: Yeah. Jaba: price sticks in the twenties, you know, I'm I'm all over that as well. I think he's probably a hold at thirty-six, but I think anything below thirty for me is a buy. What do you think? underscore_underscore_: I think it's wild just to think how much of an organization has an impact. Because if he was still with Boston, you're looking at a seventy dollar base auto, I bet. Like double what he currently is. Like, I don't Jaba: Yeah. Low rays selling for more though, I think. underscore_underscore_: That is true. But I don't know. Azukar already had Bowman Chrome, so maybe there's a little bit of that factored in somehow. And I don't know, maybe ⁓ just a whole lot. ⁓ the Red Sox traded him. We must not be good. To the people who are just ripping and selling and whatever, you know. L'oray's gotten some pump all over the internet right now. Azukar just it was a really, really, really, really good year. He got up to high A. He continued to rake after he got traded. Like Jaba: Yeah. underscore_underscore_: There is some swing and miss concerns to him, but he also stole 20 bags, so he's like not reliant solely on the hit tool. 21 home runs, like there's a lot there to like. I don't even think that 35 is that bad of a price. His cup most recent couple did 37. There was a 30 mixed in. His colors holding true. Like I think his true blue just popped at 225. Refractors are well, there's a 76, a 90. Like a mini diamond from China did 188. Jaba: Yeah. underscore_underscore_: Like there's just a lot of good things pointing his way. I'm talking while scrolling. Like but then somebody Jaba: Yeah. You know I I think especially sorry, ⁓ you you finished. underscore_underscore_: I was just gonna say somebody best offered a base at twenty seven. Like I would buy that at twenty seven and just hold it. ⁓ yeah. Jaba: Yeah. Like what what I was gonna say is I think a lot of us do you know, again, I think this is a pretty hardcore listener base. I think if you're listening you're probably selling on ebay, you know, Discord, Instagram or some combination. But like if I'm selling on eBay, I'm not selling an Azucar at thirty-six. I'm not netting, you know, twenty-eight dollars on him. you know, I might not buy it at thirty six, but I'm definitely not, you know, netting sub thirty. I I would you know, it just wouldn't feel right. I think one thing with Azukar, you know, that kind of came to mind. I was talking to my friends the other day about, you know, how underappreciated, you know, some of these young guys like underscore_underscore_: No. Jaba: Carson Benjar when they go put up like, you know, one fifteen OPS plus with good defense as a rookie and you know, immediately it's like a four war season. I mean you're you're short of an all star there, but that's you know, critical player on a winning team or on a losing team like the Mets. underscore_underscore_: Yeah. Comets. Jaba: I think, you know, similar to Benj, Azagar kinda has the profile where he's good at everything, but there's no light tower power necessarily. There's no, you know, fifty steel speed. And most guys don't have that. And I think we've kind of gotten spoiled in only chasing the guys with like, you know, Andrew Fisher hitting a ball over the scoreboard, you know, making it look like he's swinging off a T. underscore_underscore_: Mm-hmm. Jaba: You I think Azakar is just one of those guys where he's so solid all around. I mean, obviously there's some some contact concerns that are that are valid. ⁓ but you know, he he's just a guy that's gonna move quickly, I think. You know, he's good at everything, it's a solid foundation. I think those guys, you know, are just the safest safest bets you can find, especially in a product like Bowman Chrome, where, you know, if you ask me my top ten DSL guys, probably seven. seven of them will not play over a hundred MLB games. Maybe more. Yeah, I mean that's that's including, you know, these top guys. Well, that's not a bash on them. That's just, you know, statistically speaking, that's what's gonna happen. Like yesterday we were talking on the phone and I was like, ⁓ you know, thank God ⁓ I wasn't in Bowman in twenty seven when Ahmed Rosaria was the number one prospect in baseball. Obviously we know that there are Boston guys, I mean he's carved out a nice career, but I mean he hasn't been very good. underscore_underscore_: Combined. Jaba: ⁓ and we went through the twenty seven pi 2017 pipeline. I was like, wow, that's a really bad list. And you told me correctly, you know, in five years, you know, this year's list is probably gonna look similar to that. That's not a bad list, that's just kind of how it goes. You know, all that being said, underscore_underscore_: Yeah. All that said, Aaron Judge was like forty fourth on that list, so Jaba: Yeah. I I mean, i i it was it was insane. But yeah, I'll let you I'll let you close out. ⁓ we got one more name on this before we talk about a couple cheap buys we're we're going after. underscore_underscore_: Why don't you just take this one? It just feels fitting. Jaba: Okay. Yeah, it's it it's obvious, I think if anyone's listened, ⁓ you know who I'm gonna say. Wilder Delease, Wilder Delees, Wilder, I don't know. I I should figure that out. I I owe it to him to get that right. ⁓ again, I I I get that he's a Rocky. I get it. Jackson Holiday is extremely expensive. I mean Roll Roll Roll Okay. I I always get that wrong. I always get that wrong. Thank you. underscore_underscore_: You only have thousands of dollars worth of Ember. And so is Ethan Holiday and he's a Rocky. I'm here to correct. Jaba: you know, holiday sells, burrito sells well, ⁓ not like holiday, but you to an extent, Condon sold really well. I mean, yeah, guys like, you know, Jared Thomas, obviously he missed like all of this year, but like last year when he was playing well, you know, he probably wasn't pricing ⁓ where he should have been. ⁓ so I get that concern. But You know, Delease again, like I said with Azakar, you know, we can go nuts for all these DSL guys. Azakar hit 310 at single A, 322 at high A, 19 homers, 27 steals. I I I just don't know what more you could want. And he's a switch hitter, which is fun. I haven't really looked into the splits to see you know, if it's you know kind of severe split guy or if he's just good from both sides. But I mean excellent contact rates, plate disciplines there, power, speed. You know, he's he's at twenty-seven dollars right now. That's that's nuts. I I I try not to use underscore_underscore_: Hmm. Jaba: Bad words on our podcast because my my parents will ⁓ you know they'll call me up. ⁓ but you know, it gets me close to saying some bad words how ridiculous I think it is that he's that cheap. I know yesterday an orange did 1200. I did not get that orange. I had been getting oranges at like 800. ⁓ so his market is heating up, at least the high end. ⁓ you know, black did 1200 yesterday. I'll I'll spare you all the story time on another. deal I had yesterday. ridiculous. But yeah, I mean I'm all over Delease. I've been buying true blues. ⁓ I have a lot of them. ⁓ I would say at an average of like $210. I'll I'm just gonna keep doing that. underscore_underscore_: Yeah. Jaba: I I couldn't believe in the guy more. I think he's probably my favorite player in this product, at least as it pertains to price. I think that's obvious. ⁓ but I mean I I just couldn't be couldn't be higher on the guy. I'm I'm curious though, do you think I'm going off the rails a little bit with him? Or h how do you feel? 'Cause I think everyone's heard me pump this guy. ⁓ but I'm curious to get a second voice here because I can cheerlead all I want, but underscore_underscore_: I mean he he like checks all the boxes like immediately, right? Like with what you're looking for, he's a switch hit. The one thing he's got going against him is his organization, but I think I mean we we close it out with two guys who had color and now they have autos and back to back products. I do kinda wonder if that is anything to do with the pricing. 'Cause we think both of them should be higher. Like three different levels in twenty six, three ten It you're just I'm reading the notes we have and like you you were buying them and pumping them and I'm like, ⁓ Will loves them awesome. Then I actually looked at the numbers and it's like yeah, this guy should be higher. Like is he a top five in the product? No. But he's probably not all that far off for where he is talent wise compared to pricing. ⁓ so like go grab some. His color, obviously, I know through tracking with you is expensive. Jaba: Yeah. underscore_underscore_: But even still, like there's a true purple I think I just sent you. Like a hundred and twenty bucks. That feels pretty cheap compared to what an Ethan Holiday true purple is doing at this time. Like Ethan was damn near nine hundred bucks until he got hurt for a true purple. And you can go buy this Dallase for a hundred and twenty dollars and just bin it and be have a cool color match Rocky's card. So ⁓ I would imagine that yes he is a buy. somebody at the card shop. Jaba: Yeah. Yeah. underscore_underscore_: card show this past week and came up and bought my one Dallase card I had. I know he's listening. And ⁓ he he knows ball apparently, so yeah. Jaba: Yep, I've got all in I've got twenty nine delicases right now. Although underscore_underscore_: Nice. And this is not a pump and dump 'cause you're not dumping them. You're still actively buying them. Jaba: I'm not th they're they're literally being force fed to PSA, ha has they come in. But yeah, I mean I I've got all types of him, I'll continue to buy all types of him. You know, if the prices stay here ⁓ I'll probably go to a hundred as long as Eversource doesn't shut off my electricity. ⁓ 'cause you can't pay your electricity bill with Wilder Delease. That's today's lesson, kids. Okay, I've been talking a lot. You take over from here. You got two names you want to talk about as buys. you know, take it away. underscore_underscore_: Yeah, two names that they're older bats, they're older collegiate bats in the DSL heavy product. ⁓ Avery Oosu Aseiru. He is my sub ten dollar base auto where it's like, let's kind of peel it back here and see. He got promoted to double A. Yes, he is twenty-three, right? Twenty-three. He's huge, six four. Got promoted to double A. The stats on their face don't look good for the year, but a As soon as he got promoted the last 30 games, he's hitting 328 with 14 pumps. Seemed like he was hitting a home run every day leading into release. I thought that was kind of going to help aid his pricing, and I was wrong. I bought a true blue for less than $60. His base autos are pretty consistently sub-10. Like, yes, he's old. Yes, we kind of learned our lesson and have said the lesson about Arizona prospects. But we got Casey Cunningham coming through. Waldschmidt did get up to about seventy, eighty bucks of true blue until he debuted. Or base auto, not true blue. You put could probably get his true blues there now though. ⁓ and I do say this all with the asterisk caveat of Amarillo. Amarillo where he's playing in double A is a bit of a launching pad. You Google it, it says dry air, local winds, make it very hitter friendly. So yes, he did all of a sudden His batting average in high A jumped from 202 to 328. his strikeouts are about on par, his walks are about on par, and the home runs have already doubled despite playing a third the amount of game. So take that with a grain of salt. But he's big. We talked about him maybe being a later bloomer coming from Saskatchewan, playing at Southern Illinois, and I just think for sub ten dollars you could do worse. that kind of setting the bar, that means you can probably get a refractor for like sub twenty. Jaba: Yeah. underscore_underscore_: Which if you've stumbled across one, I wouldn't advise you not to buy it. Like, he's gonna hit some balls very far. I wish he were in the AFL, because that really would be a ideal hitting environment for him to just go off in. He has that type of strength, clearly. But that is the sub ⁓ ten dollar, and then the sub five dollar is just our friend Anthony Martinez. Jaba: I know. That was definitely a bummer. underscore_underscore_: who we opened up the AL Central, not really having him on our radar. We come and I know this is audio only. True Black came in today. True Black Auto. Jaba: ⁓ the slabs behind it. I I was like, When did you get that graded? underscore_underscore_: Imagine. No, that's my thirty-five dollar Santiago Leone true orange gem. Thank you. Yeah, yeah. He'll get three stars for writing on the team bag. Martinez like just once he got into Pro Bowl, he started raking. He didn't hit for much power out in college where he played at ⁓ UC Irvine. He's 22, he's 6'1, 250. Like the profile is what the profile is. Jaba: Bet you got that from a nice seller. Ha ha. underscore_underscore_: But got up to high A this year, hit 290, eight home runs in high A, sixteen home runs on the year. But you go look at his collegiate stats, and he did not hit that many in his college career. I think it's trending in the right direction. ⁓ damn near one to one walk to strikeout ratio. Had a nine's ⁓ nine twenty OPS. I just think there was a single sale at ninety-nine cents. Like Jaba: Yeah. underscore_underscore_: If you go buy something at CVS and round up to the nearest dollar, you could get an Anthony Martinez base auto. Like, I would do that. I would round up on to get a Anthony Martinez base auto, you know? Like, three dollars, you just go to Duncan for the day. Get a base auto and once I hit double digits, just sit back and ⁓ enjoy that triple up, baby. I say that facetiously, but Jaba: Yeah. And I I think it's really important that we continue to highlight I mean, not all these names are sexy, but I mean you look at like Abimelech Ortiz. I mean, he he's not tall, he's not a great body, and while his window this year was brief, you could have made a lot of money on him. And, you know, I think you have to keep it relative to the price you're paying. And Just look at it. I mean, I think it's there's no reason not to buy five or ten base autos, spend, you know, forty bucks getting ten of and just stick ⁓ in a drawer and, you know, p you really can't lose. underscore_underscore_: I mean, worst case you rent ⁓ at three bucks and somebody swipes and you get out of ⁓ for thirteen cents cheaper than you bought ⁓ or less than you bought ⁓ for. Like Jaba: Yeah. You know, I I I just struggle to see and I I I think it gives you some safety. I mean these these D SL guys are, you know, exciting and fun, but I I think in this product more than any other, I think it's nice to kinda secure a guy where you're almost positive he's gonna go up at some point. underscore_underscore_: Yep, I mean just watching some video of him. What on a streak this year l end of August where he hit four homers in seven games? Jaba: Week of work. Yeah. underscore_underscore_: Hit three in a row. Like, there's Juice there. He's gonna go on a run. Our thought with him was kind of like, well, Sean Keyes did it. Like, Sean Keyes got a big bump. Like, why couldn't Anthony Martinez? You know? Like, very kind of similar thought process when we said let's buy a couple of him. Now, did we pay strong on the true black? Yeah, probably, but a true goal just did one eighty. After I know you snagged one at like one fifty, so like Jaba: Yeah. Huge. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah right. underscore_underscore_: It did 180 on auction. Now if another one went, I'm not sure. I know his a true blue did like fifty one at one point. Let's look. You got a green reptilian 44, base auto three bucks. ⁓ Refractor eleven bucks. Like that was that was a China sale, but a yellow did seventy nine, a gold did one eighty two. Like there's some good sales out there. Another gold did one seventy five, so Jaba: Yeah, that's not. China. underscore_underscore_: So you had one fifty, it did one seventy five, and then it did one eighty two. So it's kind of climbing on the true gold. I feel like we did all right with the true black. Plus, it is very clean and centered. I haven't told you that yet, but it is minty. And I think it will be on its way to Burbank, California. Is that where you sent it? Riverside, California? Same thing. That's where Scott Boris's office is. Jaba: Great news. ⁓ Newport Beach. That makes a lot of sense. Alright. Well, that ⁓ that wraps up. underscore_underscore_: So yeah. That was a long one. Jaba: ⁓ by sell hold, ⁓ a bit of a longer episode, but I think this is the stuff people really want to hear. some of it may be obvious, but I think even on the obvious ones kind of projecting where we think it's gonna fall and how to approach that ⁓ is hopefully valuable for you all. As always please let us know your thoughts, ⁓ good or bad, bad ones directing to Jeremy. ⁓ any suggestions for episodes. I know we're kind of pumping these rapid fire, but at the end of the day underscore_underscore_: Yep. Jaba: we want to kind of address what people want to hear. and you know if you have ideas, we'll be happy to you know kind of attack them. So with that being said, that's all for this episode. Thank you all for listening and let's go Mets. Bye. underscore_underscore_: Yeah.
