  [SPEAKER_00]: Hasn't been as quite as impressive as maybe some had hoped, or certainly as the Jaguars had hoped.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's playing well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's playing really well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was a few shot plays that changed this game, really.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I say a few, it was really two.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Two shot plays that really kind of changed this game and made it out of reach for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Even though the Jaguars' offensive line was kind of getting beat up, the Jags still had every opportunity to win this football game with a little bit more past rush.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they probably could have had more success.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The C-Ox score there are 20 points within the first drive of the third quarter, like they didn't score after that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: at the very beginning of the third quarter, that part is a little difficult.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's like, it's kind of a lot of points, but then they shut it down after that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's defense did.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And we're gonna just kind of dive into where I think the Jaguar's past rush is at and what the solutions are for the Jags.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Taking a look at the Jaguar's past race specifically against the seahawks in the first half and on the first drive of the third quarter again, which is where all the seahawks points came 20 points.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They were trying to rush with four and, you know, a lot of people will talk about Josh Heinz Allen too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: uh... and you know where's Josh hines Allen he was horrible against the c-ox a he was not horrible against the c-ox and i think that he should have been credited for at least one pressure i know pff did not credit him for a pressure i think he did pressure samdarnal on a rollout

  [SPEAKER_00]: force time to take off with the football, but yeah, you can complain about not having the sacks if you actually watch the games weeks one through five, thought he was highly impactful, especially weeks one through four, week five against the chiefs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Chiefs gave him a lot of extra attention, and they tried to take him out of the game plan because they didn't have to worry about Trayvon Walker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He still got three pressures.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He still had an impact on the game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was still a really good run defender, which he has been every single week this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Seahawks just did not give him opportunities to win one-on-ones.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he had two opportunities to win a one-on-one in a legitimate past-rushing situation against the Seahawks in the first half.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, well, how are they doing this?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Screen game?

  [SPEAKER_00]: They ran a lot of screens.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They chipped him, double-teamed him a lot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: One play they double-teamed him with two tight ends.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was like, okay, here's this guy, and then it's like, as soon as you get past him, another one's waiting for you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, there's just nowhere to go unless you just hit like crazy timing moves and still, that's just difficult to deal with.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Then you see him getting chipped by Elijah Arroyo and then Charles Cross is there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: On the two past rush reps that I can recall in the first half legitimate past rush reps, you have one on one with Charles Cross, defensive right side offensive left side, and Josh Hines Allen is trying to hit him, beat him on the outside arc.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, this is the fourth drive of the game already, and this is the first legitimate past rush opportunity.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he's trying to win on the outside arc.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he tries to hit a little cross shop, doesn't land at all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Cross just kind of washes him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Donald gets rid of the football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: On the second one, he's lined up on the defensive left side, offensive right side.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He tries to bull rush Abraham Lucas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's getting him some push in the backfield, but Donald gets rid of it too quickly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was willing to take what was there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was willing to get rid of the ball quickly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, a lot of that was also screens they were dialing up.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, they were running to the opposite side of the field on almost every single run play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They were running to the opposite side of the field of Josh Heinz Allen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's not much you can do about that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and when they weren't, he was usually making a play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he had one Miss Tackle against Kenneth Walker, which was a difficult tackle in space for a player that's normally up on the line of skirmager in the back field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, yeah, you'd like to see him make that tackle, but he didn't, um,

  [SPEAKER_00]: they were either quick game slash screen or running the ball to the opposite side of the field or max protect, double-teaming, chipping, etc., so they effectively said, you are not going to rush the passer against us with four, and finally,

  [SPEAKER_00]: In the third quarter, Anthony Campanylee started trying to blitz a little bit more.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the blitz started getting home, and the seahawks couldn't move the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Seahawks couldn't score.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't score again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't score again after that, that early third quarter touched down.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And overall, allowing 20 points in a game, the Jaguar's defense gave the offense every opportunity they needed to win this football game and the offense couldn't do it for a number of reasons.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, I look at this game as kind of like an aberration.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A game where it's like Anthony Campanile, I think he knows what he has to do now if that situation arises again and can get to it quicker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, the last two games, Kansas City Chiefs game and Seattle Seahawks, you didn't have to have a walker in one of them and the, you know, against the Chiefs he didn't play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then against the Seahawks, he didn't play a lot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He played 12 pass rush naps, 16 total snap, I mean, that's, that's tough to deal with.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, over the last three weeks, you've had a total of 28 snaps for Trayvon Walker, 19 past rush snaps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They need Trayvon Walker out there, and they need him to be able to play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I thought he played well when he was out there, to be honest with you, against the Seahawks, but just wasn't out there a whole lot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They need to get him back playing a full lot when it snaps, and I'm, you know, I'm not saying they need to rush him back and play him more than he's capable of playing right now dealing with the wrist injury, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: for this defense to optimally function with a four-man pass rush, they need trayvon, 100%, then you also have the fact that like, you don't have a dominant interior pass rusher right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Eric Armstrong said I think is doing a good job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he has a half a sack or a sack and three out of the last four games.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is generating pressure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's doing a good job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As your, you know, rotational guys, Emmanuel Agba and DeWan Smoot, probably not doing quite as much as you would hope, but they're not horrible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Mason Smith only has 61 pass rush reps this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's kind of making the most out of them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they trust him to be an effective gap plugger or run stuffer right now consistently, which is why he's not on the field more,

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you've gone Hamilton as 101 past rush reps and only five pressures, so I mean right there you can look at.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you have Devon Hamilton out there as a past rush player, it's not been great.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Concertly point to that a little bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I also think you can

  [SPEAKER_00]: They haven't been able to cover wider silver ones.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And when a quarterback knows he can just throw the ball to his wider silver one, that's a problem.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the chiefs didn't really have their wider silver one against the jacks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They still kind of moved the ball at will quite a bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But we talked about that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jackson Smith and Jick, but could not be covered by Buster Brown.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jamar Chase could not be covered by anyone, Tyson, Darian, whatever.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You've seen it with Niko's had some success against them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter needs to spend more time against opposing wide receiver ones I have to say.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's the case.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that will help the past rush as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, if you need to blitz because the team is running max protect or getting the ball out quickly, obviously you have to decipher when to do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's difficult to figure that out sometimes because they're trying to trick you as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody gets paid, but you know Anthony Camponele, to me this was the first game where, again, through the first,

  [SPEAKER_00]: half and then into the beginning of the third quarter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was just kind of getting out matched from a coaching standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, difficult to overcome when you don't feel like you can cover the opposing YGC for one, but I think Greg knew some can help with that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was in a bad spot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Outside leverage cover four quarters.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Winger doesn't there to help out on the, you know, inside leverage gets baited up into a play action.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Greg knew some obviously first play out there, but overall, when Trevon's back, I'm not really worried about the past rush.

  [SPEAKER_00]: if you want to take it from a unit where I'm saying I'm not worried about it to a unit where I'm like, okay, this unit can absolutely get it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, go trade for somebody, which that's the rumor, that's that's that's what everyone's talking about, you know, the Jaguar

  [SPEAKER_00]: He interrupts board my Garafolo reporting that they might not be done trading and they could be looking for defensive line help.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, going and trading for someone who can help you rush the passer.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Campanila wants to rush for, he wants to send pressure, and again, send pressure is where you're still rushing for, but you don't know where it's coming from exactly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There could be six guys in the line of scrimmage, two of them drop out four of them rush, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't know where it's coming from exactly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That I think he's definitely wanting to live that way, but I think he would like to rush for and drop seven.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if he could do that, I think the Jaguars would be in a much better situation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Couldn't do it against the Seahawks because they said you're not going to affect the quarterback with four because it's usually gonna be quick game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be screens or it's going to be max protecting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're just not going to beat us with four against seven people in, in, in, uh, to pass block.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, there's some things they have to make sure that they're on top of X's and I was wise, schematically.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think playing Travis Hunter more than 22 snaps on the defensive side of the ball can help.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The initial reporting was that he would not probably play this weekend and that might still be the case, but Sean McVay tried to make it seem like there's more of a chance

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're not traveling until Friday night, um, they're in Baltimore right now after they played the Ravens.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars have an opportunity against the Rams past rush, but obviously getting to Matthew Stafford never easy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, I've got to be more disciplined on the back end in coverage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But he wasn't the only one that bit up on some stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You saw some linebackers biting up on some stuff You know, I saw all three linebackers not be able to get back quick enough in the way they should Devon Which Actually it wasn't Devon It was FOIA I know it was Devon in the first half, sorry yeah Devon played early and then didn't play like yeah Devon had a play where he jumped up

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, those guys have to play more disciplined with their eyes, not by and up so hard, which again makes it more difficult to stop their own, but you have to be disciplined.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not in panic mode about the Jaguar's past Russian in any way, shape or form.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would like to see them go add a piece and who knows what that piece could be anything from a superstar

  [SPEAKER_00]: an ascending young player to a veteran like Kalea, or Malik Collins, or something.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think everything's on the table potentially, and it's just like what's going to end up making the most sense for the Jaguars and James Lads Stone's mind.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like superstar, ascending, young player, veteran who knows how to rush the passer, any one of those could really help the jacks in my opinion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not panic mode, but I am, yeah, you'd like to have a little bit more help, and you'd like to have a healthy tray of homewalker.
