- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Mark Simone Show on seven ten woor filling
- 0:05Speaker 1: in for Mark, here's Ken Rosato. As it is Memorial Day,
- 0:10Speaker 1: Mark is off and enjoying a well deserved long weekend,
- 0:12Speaker 1: and I hope that you are spending time with family
- 0:15Speaker 1: and friends, enjoying the freedoms that so many fought and
- 0:18Speaker 1: died for. And that is why our vets who lost
- 0:21Speaker 1: their lives defended this country so we all wouldn't have
- 0:25Speaker 1: to worry about being attacked. As a friend of mine
- 0:27Speaker 1: who was a coastguardsman would always say, don't worry about
- 0:30Speaker 1: a thing. We got this. But while it's a blessing
- 0:34Speaker 1: to be able to enjoy the day, relaxing, maybe having
- 0:36Speaker 1: a hot dog, you tell stories with people we care about,
- 0:40Speaker 1: we do need to take some time to honor the
- 0:43Speaker 1: great people who died for us, whether in active duty
- 0:46Speaker 1: or in training, or even people who were at the
- 0:49Speaker 1: burn pits and they came back and they suffered cancer
- 0:51Speaker 1: and died after the fact. The fact is they sacrificed
- 0:54Speaker 1: their lives. They went in. They didn't they didn't want
- 0:57Speaker 1: to die, but they went in knowing that that was
- 1:00Speaker 1: very possible, a thing that could happen, that they could
- 1:03Speaker 1: lose their lives joining the military, and this is still
- 1:06Speaker 1: an all voluntary military and these people ended up dying.
- 1:10Speaker 1: That's why we have this day for them. They need
- 1:13Speaker 1: to be revered. So whether you take a moment of silence,
- 1:16Speaker 1: you say a prayer, you make a toast, please just
- 1:19Speaker 1: take a moment, at the very least a moment and
- 1:22Speaker 1: dedicate the joy that you experience on this day with
- 1:25Speaker 1: your family and friends to the honorable people who died
- 1:28Speaker 1: to make it possible. And may they all rest in peace.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And may we eventually arrive at a time when we
- 1:34Speaker 1: no longer have war and nobody dies in conflict. Former
- 1:38Speaker 1: New York City TV news actor Ken Rosato in for
- 1:41Speaker 1: Mark Today. I spent twenty years anchoring the morning and
- 1:44Speaker 1: also the noon newscast at Channel seven here in New York.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I also used to host Good Day new York on
- 1:49Speaker 1: Channel five. Before that, I was on the radio about
- 1:51Speaker 1: a half a dozen radio stations all around the Tri
- 1:54Speaker 1: state area for years. Way before that, gosh, I used
- 1:57Speaker 1: like fifty different radio names. Hey, you're listening to the
- 2:00Speaker 1: stakes of wax. I did that yeah back in the day. Nowadays,
- 2:04Speaker 1: should catch me out in New Jersey streaming TV channel.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's called on New Jersey o NNJ dot com o
- 2:10Speaker 1: NNJ dot com. You can see that anywhere in the
- 2:13Speaker 1: US if you get a chance, check it out. Please
- 2:15Speaker 1: when you're when you uh, after you've listened to WO
- 2:18Speaker 1: or please for at least fifty hours straight, then you're
- 2:20Speaker 1: allowed to go check that out for a minute. I promise. Well,
- 2:23Speaker 1: we guys have much to talk about today. It may
- 2:25Speaker 1: be a holiday, but there is a lot of news happening.
- 2:28Speaker 1: The phone lines are open. Please give us a call
- 2:30Speaker 1: one eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. One
- 2:34Speaker 1: eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. So if
- 2:38Speaker 1: you're like some of my friends, in fact, I'm gonna
- 2:39Speaker 1: mention him by name. My friend Earl in Putnam County,
- 2:42Speaker 1: former cop, greatest guy in the world, Earl Diehard Conservative,
- 2:47Speaker 1: getting really pissed off at the president right now, saying
- 2:50Speaker 1: what is going on?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Ken?
- 2:51Speaker 1: All of my friends are giving up on them. I say, Earl,
- 2:54Speaker 1: take a breath. We literally text sometimes two in the mornings.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I take a breath. So the question is, though, but
- 3:00Speaker 1: I know a lot of people are asking, what is
- 3:01Speaker 1: the deal? Are we close to solving things in Iran? Well?
- 3:05Speaker 1: President Trump vowed again yesterday that Iran would never have
- 3:10Speaker 1: a nuclear weapon, and that is the most important thing
- 3:12Speaker 1: in his book. That after some Republican senators who are
- 3:15Speaker 1: a little nervous about the details of this peace plant
- 3:19Speaker 1: currently being negotiated.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Right now, when negotiating and we'll see, but either we're
- 3:25Speaker 2: going to get it one way or the other, that
- 3:26Speaker 2: they're not going to have a nuclear lep Well.
- 3:28Speaker 1: On Saturday, Trump said his negotiators were finalizing an agreement,
- 3:32Speaker 1: but then yesterday he kind of pulled back a little
- 3:34Speaker 1: bit and said he'd post or he posted rather that
- 3:36Speaker 1: he would wait until the right agreement could be struck,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and he said that he told his representatives not to
- 3:43Speaker 1: rush into a deal and that time is on our side.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Once a deal is struck, world oil prices should drop
- 3:51Speaker 1: fairly quickly. I know they're telling you right now, Oh,
- 3:53Speaker 1: it could take months of years. That's not going to
- 3:56Speaker 1: take months years. It's not going to come down as
- 3:58Speaker 1: quickly as it went up, of course, because the speculators
- 4:00Speaker 1: all made their money. But it will come down, and
- 4:03Speaker 1: it will come down quicker than they're saying. It just
- 4:06Speaker 1: won't be overnight. It may take a couple of months,
- 4:08Speaker 1: but you'll see how quickly and steadily it comes down.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And if you're like me, I think you understand that
- 4:14Speaker 1: as long as the American public sees the oil prices
- 4:18Speaker 1: or gas prices in the correct direction, even if it's
- 4:21Speaker 1: only dropping a nickel a week, that gets the point across.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It doesn't have to drop by a dollar next week.
- 4:26Speaker 1: But as the prices come down, that will help because
- 4:29Speaker 1: worldwide supply would increase with all the oil that's currently
- 4:32Speaker 1: stuck in the Strait of Horror Moves, it'll be heading
- 4:34Speaker 1: out to the countries that need it.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Well. We want it open, we want it free. We
- 4:38Speaker 2: don't want tolls. It's international, it's an international waterway and
- 4:43Speaker 2: not charging tolls.
- 4:44Speaker 1: That was Trump on the straight of Horror Moves. Reopening
- 4:47Speaker 1: that should happen sooner rather than later. In Iran would
- 4:50Speaker 1: have to agree to allow safe passage of all vessels
- 4:53Speaker 1: through the Strait, no matter what country. Also, Iran would
- 4:57Speaker 1: hand over its nuclear dust and would promise not to
- 4:59Speaker 1: pursus sue the development of a nuclear weapon.
- 5:01Speaker 2: We get the highly enrich we will get it. We
- 5:05Speaker 2: don't need it, we don't want it. We'll probably destroy
- 5:08Speaker 2: it after we get it. But we're not going to
- 5:09Speaker 2: let them have it.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the key. And right now we're getting different
- 5:13Speaker 1: words again from different factions in Iran. Iran is saying
- 5:17Speaker 1: that we are close to a deal. They have acknowledged that,
- 5:20Speaker 1: but they said that they still have not worked out
- 5:23Speaker 1: the details on the nuclear aspect of it. But President
- 5:27Speaker 1: Trump is saying, oh, that is the whole plan, that
- 5:29Speaker 1: is ninety percent of it. So don't buy what they're saying,
- 5:32Speaker 1: because they're not going to get away with this with
- 5:35Speaker 1: having anything related to anything nuclear. They will have to
- 5:37Speaker 1: make an agreement that they will abolish any nuclear plans
- 5:42Speaker 1: and we will get their nuclear dust. And if down
- 5:45Speaker 1: the line they try to do their nefarious deed again,
- 5:47Speaker 1: they're going to have to start from scratch. And by
- 5:49Speaker 1: the way, for those who don't realize, you think, oh, ken,
- 5:52Speaker 1: they're going to do their nuclear plan no matter what,
- 5:54Speaker 1: we won't know. Yeah, we will know. Do you know
- 5:56Speaker 1: that from satellites we can detect anywhere there is even
- 6:02Speaker 1: tiny amounts of nuclear capability in terms of uranium stores
- 6:06Speaker 1: and things like that, we can detect it from the sky.
- 6:09Speaker 1: So if Iran tries to play the game, we'll know
- 6:11Speaker 1: it before anyone knows it except for the people actually
- 6:14Speaker 1: storing it or creating it. We will know it, so
- 6:17Speaker 1: believe me. We don't even have to send inspectors in
- 6:20Speaker 1: on the ground. We can detect it from the air.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And if we sniff out a little bit of uranium,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I think Iran will be in heap, bigger trouble. So
- 6:28Speaker 1: just watch out for that. Seven to ten wo R
- 6:31Speaker 1: the Voice of New York Ken Risotto in for Mark
- 6:34Speaker 1: on Memorial Day. And of course, again some Iranian officials
- 6:37Speaker 1: of poo poo this whole plan. The problem is that
- 6:40Speaker 1: you still do have and Marcus talked about this on
- 6:43Speaker 1: the show. Different factions in Iran, all controlling different segments.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Some control the military equipment, some people are the religious folks,
- 6:52Speaker 1: and everybody is trying to take control. They haven't even
- 6:55Speaker 1: really consolidated control in their own country, let alone who
- 7:01Speaker 1: was in charge to talk on behalf of Iran with
- 7:03Speaker 1: the United States. But Trump will only have so much
- 7:06Speaker 1: patience and either somebody steps up to the plate and
- 7:08Speaker 1: has total say, or that country is going to be flattened,
- 7:12Speaker 1: as simple as that. Hate to say it, because there
- 7:15Speaker 1: are good human beings there. But then you got to
- 7:18Speaker 1: do something to step up and overthrow your government because
- 7:21Speaker 1: the people in charge there right now are useless. Seven
- 7:24Speaker 1: ten wor the Voice of New York eighties thirteen minutes
- 7:27Speaker 1: after ten o'clock on Memorial Day Monday, and police in
- 7:30Speaker 1: DC if you heard this over the weekend, they shot
- 7:32Speaker 1: and killed a gunman near the White House. After the
- 7:35Speaker 1: twenty one year old pulled out a revolver. Who carries
- 7:38Speaker 1: a revolver anymore? He had a revolver. He fired at
- 7:41Speaker 1: a Secret Service checkpoint. The problem was that nearby inside
- 7:46Speaker 1: the White House at the time, the President was there,
- 7:48Speaker 1: so of course that puts everybody on alert. They had
- 7:50Speaker 1: to have lockdown at the White House. The shooting happened
- 7:53Speaker 1: just after six pm on Saturday, and a man approached
- 7:57Speaker 1: the Secret Service checkpoint that was at seventeen Street in
- 8:00Speaker 1: Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest. He pulled a gun from his bag.
- 8:04Speaker 1: He started to shoot at officers. The problem is when
- 8:07Speaker 1: you shoot at armed people, you better be accurate. Fortunately
- 8:10Speaker 1: he was not, so all the Secret Service fired back
- 8:14Speaker 1: and killed them. He has identified as twenty one year
- 8:17Speaker 1: old in this here best. He's from Dundalk, Maryland, and
- 8:20Speaker 1: they know him because he tried to break in. A
- 8:23Speaker 1: year ago, he tried to get through one of their checkpoints.
- 8:25Speaker 1: They say he seemed to be mentally unstable because a
- 8:28Speaker 1: year ago he claimed to be Jesus Christ, he claimed
- 8:30Speaker 1: to be God the Father, he claimed to be demons.
- 8:34Speaker 1: He added all different claims. The question is somebody like
- 8:37Speaker 1: that has to know people, family, friends, back home, and
- 8:41Speaker 1: how does everyone say, oh, yeah, in a series, he's
- 8:43Speaker 1: you know, he's just a funny guy. Really, how do
- 8:46Speaker 1: you let somebody like that around? And ware did he
- 8:48Speaker 1: get the gun? And I'm sure that'll be investigated. But
- 8:51Speaker 1: if somebody is that mentally unstable, what's he doing with
- 8:53Speaker 1: a gun? Because you do have to pass a test,
- 8:55Speaker 1: you know, you do have to fill up paperwork, and
- 8:57Speaker 1: if you've been found to be mental stable, you cannot
- 9:01Speaker 1: get a carry permit. We don't even know if if
- 9:03Speaker 1: you had the gun legally or not, but I'm sure
- 9:05Speaker 1: that'll come out in the investigation. A good samaritan This
- 9:08Speaker 1: is great news. Get this. A good Samaritan found a
- 9:12Speaker 1: fanny pack in Florida stuffed with thirty thousand dollars in
- 9:17Speaker 1: cash that was forgotten accidentally inside the bathroom of a
- 9:23Speaker 1: wah wah. For those not from New Jersey, you probably
- 9:27Speaker 1: see what the heck is A wah wah. It sounds
- 9:29Speaker 1: like something sounds like you want a glass of something
- 9:31Speaker 1: to drink. Wah wah is a fantastic kind of quickie
- 9:35Speaker 1: mark kind of a place. And they started in the
- 9:37Speaker 1: you know, the South Jersey Philadelphia area, and they've now
- 9:41Speaker 1: spread all over the country. Anyway, instead of pocketing the money,
- 9:45Speaker 1: this guy spent days tracking down the owner of the money.
- 9:49Speaker 1: What would you do if you found thirty thousand dollars cash,
- 9:54Speaker 1: it was no id, no name, What would you do?
- 9:58Speaker 1: Be honest?
- 9:59Speaker 2: You know?
- 9:59Speaker 1: I would I meet assumed that there was a camera
- 10:01Speaker 1: trained down me, and they want to see if I'll
- 10:02Speaker 1: do the right thing. So me, I don't care how
- 10:04Speaker 1: broke I was, I would probably do the same thing.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'd call the police, try to at least make an
- 10:09Speaker 1: attempt to find the owner. Well, this guy, Luis Salasar,
- 10:13Speaker 1: is a construction worker. He didn't know what to do.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I could have used the money himself, but he decided
- 10:18Speaker 1: now that would not be the moral thing. This was
- 10:20Speaker 1: back on May third in Palm Beach County, Florida, So
- 10:25Speaker 1: it was in a black fanny pack. Imagine that full
- 10:28Speaker 1: of singles, twenties and one hundred dollars bills. So what
- 10:33Speaker 1: happened was he decided to spend a week finding the
- 10:37Speaker 1: guy or woman who lost this fanny pack. Now he's
- 10:41Speaker 1: assuming it was a guy. It was in a men's rum,
- 10:43Speaker 1: so he had no evidence. He didn't know where he
- 10:46Speaker 1: could start looking. He had no id. The twenty four
- 10:49Speaker 1: year old owner of that fanny pack, though, didn't realize
- 10:52Speaker 1: he had misplaced the money until he was about fifty
- 10:55Speaker 1: miles away and he almost had a heart attack. What
- 10:57Speaker 1: it happened was the owner of the everyone right away
- 11:01Speaker 1: thinks so it was probably drug bunny. No, it wasn't.
- 11:04Speaker 1: The owner of the bag is only in his early twenties.
- 11:06Speaker 1: His sister had a medical emergency needed a medical procedure.
- 11:11Speaker 1: The guy had a Pokemon collection he had saved since
- 11:13Speaker 1: he was a kid. He sold it. I don't know
- 11:16Speaker 1: if it was like an online deal, but he met
- 11:18Speaker 1: a guy and he sold it, and that's why he
- 11:19Speaker 1: had that much cash. It had to be sold and
- 11:22Speaker 1: it had to be sold in cash. So he ended
- 11:24Speaker 1: up getting thirty twenty three dollars in cash for all
- 11:27Speaker 1: the Pokemon stuff, and he stopped by the bathroom. He
- 11:31Speaker 1: stopped to get something to drink at the wah wah,
- 11:34Speaker 1: and he laid down the bag and forgot it. And thankfully,
- 11:37Speaker 1: if anyone were to find it, this man Salazar, mister
- 11:42Speaker 1: Salazar found it and was a good construction worker, hard
- 11:45Speaker 1: working man, and was able to track down through the
- 11:48Speaker 1: police because he contacted police. He was able to track
- 11:52Speaker 1: down the owner, he says, when he presented the money
- 11:54Speaker 1: back and the owner knew how much money was in it.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That's how we knew it was the right guy. He
- 11:57Speaker 1: was able to say exactly how much was in there.
- 12:00Speaker 1: He broke down in tears and hugged and gave a
- 12:03Speaker 1: kiss to the man. But there are good people on
- 12:05Speaker 1: this planet, very good people. And mister Salazar's like I said,
- 12:08Speaker 1: he's a hard working construction man. But he said, I'd
- 12:11Speaker 1: prefer to work for my money, and I knew this
- 12:13Speaker 1: wasn't my money. Good man, God bless you, mister Salisar.
- 12:16Speaker 1: And I hope you come into millions on your own
- 12:19Speaker 1: because of the honesty, that little bit honesty, quite a
- 12:22Speaker 1: bit of honesty that you showed. I hope you are
- 12:24Speaker 1: rewarded manyfold as a result, seven ten wr the Voice
- 12:28Speaker 1: of New York. Now we had a nice story and
- 12:31Speaker 1: we shift to a gross story. I don't know if
- 12:33Speaker 1: you heard about this. Have you heard about the so
- 12:36Speaker 1: called preppy Princeton Killer. So this is a guy who
- 12:41Speaker 1: was behind bars. He was being held in jail. He
- 12:44Speaker 1: wasn't convicted yet, but apparently there is video allegedly showing
- 12:50Speaker 1: him stabbing his own brother to death and beating him
- 12:54Speaker 1: with golf clubs till he was dead. And on video
- 12:59Speaker 1: it shows that he ripped out Sorry, folks, put down
- 13:02Speaker 1: your food for a second. He ripped out his brother's
- 13:05Speaker 1: eye and consumed it. Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Uh.
- 13:10Speaker 1: He was later found dead in his jail cell. But
- 13:14Speaker 1: as it turns out, it looks like the good liberals
- 13:16Speaker 1: of New Jersey were probably not going to prosecute him
- 13:19Speaker 1: because they believed that he was mentally unstable. Now you said, well,
- 13:22Speaker 1: of course someone who would do that is mentally unstable.
- 13:24Speaker 1: But again, he wasn't metally unstable. Apparently the day before
- 13:27Speaker 1: he did that to his brother, right, So at what
- 13:28Speaker 1: point did he become metally unstable? And at some point
- 13:31Speaker 1: we have to address the problem of metal instability because
- 13:34Speaker 1: it's it's really you know, you could use that as
- 13:36Speaker 1: an excuse for anything. But yes, it's pretty gross, and
- 13:39Speaker 1: yes it really did happen. And of course it happened
- 13:41Speaker 1: in New Jersey. And I got to leave you with this.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I thought, before we go to break, have you heard
- 13:45Speaker 1: about the you visa scam? Check this out. If you
- 13:48Speaker 1: are here illegally, you can't get a visa to stay,
- 13:52Speaker 1: or can you? There is something called a you visa,
- 13:56Speaker 1: like the letter you visa. It's meant for crime victims.
- 14:00Speaker 1: So if you're an illegal alien you get robbed or assaulted,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and there's proof, like there's a surveillance camera showing that
- 14:05Speaker 1: you were beaten, you were robbed, et cetera. It is
- 14:08Speaker 1: partially out of the goodness of our hearts, because you
- 14:11Speaker 1: were the victim of a crime in our country. And
- 14:13Speaker 1: it's also so police can use you to ride out
- 14:18Speaker 1: the person who did the crime, so they can go
- 14:20Speaker 1: after the criminal, so they keep you here as a
- 14:22Speaker 1: witness in essence. So it's called the U Visa program. Well,
- 14:25Speaker 1: under the Biden administration, of course, the illegals got wise
- 14:28Speaker 1: to it. It was passed among them. At about fifty thousand
- 14:32Speaker 1: U visas were issued under the Biden administration to people
- 14:35Speaker 1: and once they get that U visa, they guess stay.
- 14:38Speaker 1: They're here. It's like you're a legal resident at that point.
- 14:42Speaker 1: So there are literally fifty thousand people walking around, and
- 14:46Speaker 1: then of course they send for their families and then
- 14:48Speaker 1: before you know it, you have five hundred thousand people here.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Now it turns out we find out many of the
- 14:54Speaker 1: assaults were staged. They were staged. There are whole criminal
- 15:00Speaker 1: syndicates who offer their services on camera wearing masks to
- 15:05Speaker 1: pretend to beat you up and rob you. So they
- 15:08Speaker 1: made deals with bodega owners all over the country. They
- 15:11Speaker 1: made deals with people on the street through immigration centers,
- 15:14Speaker 1: et cetera. Said you give us, you know, a thousand bucks,
- 15:17Speaker 1: show up at this bodega at two am at whatever,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and we'll pretend to beat you up. We'll go light
- 15:21Speaker 1: on you so you're not going to have any broken
- 15:23Speaker 1: bones or permanent damage. And then you show the video
- 15:26Speaker 1: to the immigration they'll give you a U visa you
- 15:28Speaker 1: could stay. And so fifty thousand people have done it
- 15:33Speaker 1: so far. Well, now since Trump took office, that number
- 15:36Speaker 1: has been cut way down. Very few have been able
- 15:40Speaker 1: to apply. And by the way, about fifty people have
- 15:42Speaker 1: been thrown in jail because they were outed. They were
- 15:44Speaker 1: caught doing this crime. But guess how many people have
- 15:48Speaker 1: now applied for a you visa since Trump took office
- 15:51Speaker 1: because they know that it's going to be difficult if
- 15:53Speaker 1: they're here illegally to get citizenship. Four hundred thousand people
- 15:59Speaker 1: have applied. So suddenly everybody's assaulting illegal aliens all over
- 16:03Speaker 1: the country. Four hundred thousand. It went from a few
- 16:06Speaker 1: thousand to four hundred thousand, Like, we all know who
- 16:08Speaker 1: the people here are illegally, and we're all going to
- 16:11Speaker 1: assault them. It's just amazing. If there is a scam
- 16:15Speaker 1: to be had, somebody will have the scam. Eight hundred
- 16:18Speaker 1: three two one zero seven ten eight hundred three to
- 16:21Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten and seven ten wor is
- 16:25Speaker 1: the voice of New York Mark is off today? This
- 16:27Speaker 1: is Ken Rosatta will take those calls next, so definitely
- 16:29Speaker 1: call up
