- 0:00Speaker 1: There will come a moment in your life when you
- 0:02Speaker 1: have to make a decision. Are you going to keep
- 0:05Speaker 1: abandoning yourself just to keep people who have already decided
- 0:09Speaker 1: to leave? Are you going to keep shrinking your voice
- 0:11Speaker 1: so somebody else can feel comfortable? Are you going to
- 0:14Speaker 1: keep giving pieces of yourself away until there is nothing
- 0:18Speaker 1: left for you? Listen to me carefully. Losing someone is painful,
- 0:22Speaker 1: but losing yourself trying to keep them is a tragedy.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Sometimes people walk away from you not because you were worthless,
- 0:28Speaker 1: but because their assignment in your life was temporary. Sometimes
- 0:32Speaker 1: a door closes because you have outgrown the room. Sometimes
- 0:35Speaker 1: rejection is not punishment, it is redirection. And sometimes the
- 0:39Speaker 1: greatest thing God can do for you is allow somebody
- 0:42Speaker 1: to leave who you were begging him to make stay.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Stop chasing what has already chosen to run. You cannot
- 0:48Speaker 1: force somebody to recognize your value. You cannot convince somebody
- 0:52Speaker 1: to respect your heart. You cannot make somebody stay by
- 0:55Speaker 1: becoming less of who you are. If they have to
- 0:57Speaker 1: be begged to appreciate you, then their appreciation was never
- 1:00Speaker 1: the foundation you needed. Let them go. Let them misunderstand you.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Let them underestimate you. Let them walk away. Let them
- 1:08Speaker 1: tell their version of the story. You do not have
- 1:11Speaker 1: to destroy your peace trying to correct every person who
- 1:14Speaker 1: has misunderstood your journey. Your responsibility is not to control
- 1:17Speaker 1: how people see you. Your responsibility is to remain faithful
- 1:21Speaker 1: to who you are becoming. Because there is something inside
- 1:24Speaker 1: you that is bigger than the relationship you lost, bigger
- 1:27Speaker 1: than the friendship that ended, bigger than the opportunity that disappeared,
- 1:32Speaker 1: bigger than the people who rejected you. You still have purpose.
- 1:35Speaker 1: You still have breath. You still have a future. And
- 1:38Speaker 1: as long as there is breath in your body, the
- 1:40Speaker 1: story is not finished. So if they leave, let them leave.
- 1:44Speaker 1: If they stop calling, stop chasing the phone. If they
- 1:47Speaker 1: stop believing in you, start believing in yourself again. If
- 1:50Speaker 1: they close the door, do not spend the rest of
- 1:53Speaker 1: your life standing outside it. Turn around. There is another direction.
- 1:57Speaker 1: There is another chapter. There is another level. And sometimes
- 2:00Speaker 1: you cannot walk into your next season because you are
- 2:03Speaker 1: still holding on to people from your previous one. Never
- 2:06Speaker 1: lose yourself trying to keep someone else. There is a
- 2:09Speaker 1: dangerous thing that happens when somebody walks away from you.
- 2:13Speaker 1: You start using their departure as a mirror to judge yourself.
- 2:16Speaker 1: They left so you think, maybe I wasn't good enough.
- 2:19Speaker 1: They stopped calling so you think, maybe I wasn't important enough.
- 2:24Speaker 1: They chose somebody else so you think, maybe there was
- 2:27Speaker 1: something wrong with me. They criticized you, so you start
- 2:30Speaker 1: believing their criticism. They didn't recognize your effort, so you
- 2:34Speaker 1: begin questioning whether your effort mattered at all. But listen carefully,
- 2:39Speaker 1: somebody else's decision about you is not the final authority
- 2:42Speaker 1: over you. You cannot allow another person's rejection to become
- 2:45Speaker 1: your identity. Rejection can hurt you without defining you. disappointment
- 2:50Speaker 1: can shake you without destroying you. Someone can walk away
- 2:53Speaker 1: from your life without taking your value with them. You
- 2:56Speaker 1: were valuable before they knew your name. You were valuable
- 3:00Speaker 1: before they recognized your gifts. You were valuable before they
- 3:03Speaker 1: accepted you. And you will still be valuable after they leave.
- 3:07Speaker 1: There are people who will look at you through the
- 3:09Speaker 1: lens of their own limitations. They may not recognize what
- 3:13Speaker 1: you carry because they have never learned how to recognize it.
- 3:16Speaker 1: They may not appreciate your heart because they are accustomed
- 3:20Speaker 1: to taking people for granted. They may not understand your
- 3:23Speaker 1: vision because they cannot see beyond their own circumstances. And
- 3:26Speaker 1: if you are not careful, you will spend years trying
- 3:29Speaker 1: to convince somebody of something that you should have already
- 3:32Speaker 1: known about yourself. You will keep explaining. You will keep proving.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You will keep performing. You will keep changing. You will
- 3:40Speaker 1: keep asking, what do I need to do so they
- 3:42Speaker 1: will finally see me? But sometimes the problem is not
- 3:46Speaker 1: that you have failed to show your value. Sometimes the
- 3:49Speaker 1: problem is that they have decided not to see it.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And you cannot force somebody to recognize what they have
- 3:55Speaker 1: chosen to overlook. Think about how many times you have
- 3:57Speaker 1: questioned yourself because somebody didn't appreciate you. You gave your time.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You gave your attention. You gave your loyalty. You gave
- 4:05Speaker 1: your encouragement. You showed up when they needed you. You
- 4:09Speaker 1: listened when they were hurting. You celebrated their victories. You
- 4:13Speaker 1: stood beside them when others walked away, and then one
- 4:15Speaker 1: day they turned around and treated you like you meant nothing.
- 4:20Speaker 1: That kind of experience can make you question everything. But
- 4:22Speaker 1: don't confuse somebody's lack of gratitude with your lack of value.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Those are two completely different things. A person can fail
- 4:29Speaker 1: to appreciate gold, but gold does not become worthless because
- 4:33Speaker 1: somebody preferred something else. A person can walk past a
- 4:36Speaker 1: beautiful painting without understanding its meaning, but the painting does
- 4:40Speaker 1: not become less valuable because somebody didn't stop to look.
- 4:44Speaker 1: In the same way, your worth is not determined by
- 4:47Speaker 1: the eyes of the person looking at you. You have
- 4:49Speaker 1: to learn to know your value before somebody else confirms it.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Because if your confidence depends entirely on other people's approval,
- 4:57Speaker 1: then every rejection will become a crisis. Every unanswered message
- 5:01Speaker 1: will make you question yourself. Every criticism will make you
- 5:04Speaker 1: doubt yourself. Every closed door will make you believe that
- 5:08Speaker 1: you are incapable. Every person who leaves will make you
- 5:10Speaker 1: feel abandoned by life itself. You cannot live like that.
- 5:14Speaker 1: You have to develop an identity that is stronger than
- 5:17Speaker 1: people's opinions. You have to become rooted. Because when a
- 5:20Speaker 1: tree is rooted deeply, the wind may shake its branches
- 5:23Speaker 1: without destroying its foundation. And life is going to bring winds.
- 5:27Speaker 1: People will disappoint you. Plans will change. Friendships will evolve.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Opportunities will disappear. Some people will misunderstand you. Some will
- 5:35Speaker 1: criticize you. Some will leave. And if your identity is
- 5:38Speaker 1: built entirely on their presence, every departure will feel like
- 5:42Speaker 1: your entire world is collapsing. But when you know who
- 5:45Speaker 1: you are, you can experience loss without losing yourself. That
- 5:49Speaker 1: is the difference. You can say, this hurts me, but
- 5:52Speaker 1: it does not define me. You can say, I am disappointed,
- 5:55Speaker 1: but I am not defeated. You can say, they rejected me,
- 5:58Speaker 1: but I refuse to reject myself. That is where your
- 6:01Speaker 1: strength begins. Because there is a difference between being rejected
- 6:05Speaker 1: by someone and rejecting yourself. Other people may close a door.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Do not become the person who locks every other door
- 6:12Speaker 1: behind it. Someone may say no to you. Do not
- 6:15Speaker 1: turn that no into a permanent sentence over your future.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Someone may decide they don't want you in their life.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Do not decide that nobody will ever want you again.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Someone may fail to see your potential. Do not stop
- 6:26Speaker 1: developing it. Someone may walk away from your dream. Do
- 6:29Speaker 1: not walk away from your dream because they did. You
- 6:32Speaker 1: have to stop giving temporary circumstances permanent authority. What happened
- 6:36Speaker 1: yesterday does not automatically determine what happens tomorrow. And what
- 6:41Speaker 1: somebody said about you does not become the truth simply
- 6:44Speaker 1: because they said it confidently. You need to learn how
- 6:47Speaker 1: to separate feedback from identity. If you made a mistake,
- 6:50Speaker 1: own it. If you hurt somebody, apologize. If you need
- 6:53Speaker 1: to grow, grow. If you need to change, change. But
- 6:56Speaker 1: growth is different from self-hatred. You can admit that you
- 6:59Speaker 1: were wrong without believing that you are worthless. You can
- 7:03Speaker 1: recognize your weaknesses without denying your strengths. You can become
- 7:07Speaker 1: a better person without treating your present self like an enemy.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Some people make one mistake and spend years punishing themselves
- 7:13Speaker 1: for it. They replay the conversation. They replay the failure.
- 7:18Speaker 1: They replay the rejection. They replay the moment everything changed.
- 7:21Speaker 1: They keep asking, what if I had done this differently?
- 7:25Speaker 1: But eventually, you have to understand that constantly revisiting the
- 7:28Speaker 1: past will not rewrite it. Learn from it. But don't
- 7:32Speaker 1: live inside it. There was a version of you that
- 7:35Speaker 1: didn't know what you know now. There was a version
- 7:37Speaker 1: of you that trusted the wrong people. There was a
- 7:40Speaker 1: version of you that ignored warning signs. There was a
- 7:43Speaker 1: version of you that didn't understand boundaries. There was a
- 7:46Speaker 1: version of you that thought everybody had the same heart
- 7:49Speaker 1: you had. Don't hate that version of yourself. That version
- 7:52Speaker 1: was learning. That version was growing. That version was surviving
- 7:56Speaker 1: with the knowledge it had at the time. And now
- 7:59Speaker 1: you know more. Now you see more clearly. Now you
- 8:02Speaker 1: understand that not everybody deserves access to your heart. Now
- 8:06Speaker 1: you understand that kindness does not mean tolerating everything. Now
- 8:09Speaker 1: you understand that forgiveness does not mean returning to the
- 8:13Speaker 1: same situation. Now you understand that loving people does not
- 8:16Speaker 1: require abandoning yourself. That is growth, and growth sometimes begins
- 8:20Speaker 1: with rejection. Sometimes rejection reveals where you have been placing
- 8:24Speaker 1: your identity. Maybe you placed it in a friendship. Maybe
- 8:28Speaker 1: you placed it in being liked. Maybe you placed it
- 8:30Speaker 1: in being needed. Maybe you placed it in somebody's attention.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Maybe you placed it in somebody's approval. And when that
- 8:37Speaker 1: person disappeared, you suddenly felt like you disappeared too. But
- 8:41Speaker 1: you didn't. You are still here. Your life is still here.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Your gifts are still here. Your future is still here.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Your ability to learn is still here. Your ability to
- 8:50Speaker 1: rebuild is still here. Your ability to become stronger is
- 8:53Speaker 1: still here. Don't let the person who left become the
- 8:56Speaker 1: narrator of the story you are still writing. They were
- 8:59Speaker 1: part of a chapter. They were not the entire book.
- 9:02Speaker 1: And that is something you must remember when rejection tries
- 9:05Speaker 1: to convince you that your best days are behind you.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Your best days are not determined by who walked away.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Your future is not canceled because someone didn't choose you.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Sometimes you spend so much energy mourning somebody else's decision
- 9:18Speaker 1: that you fail to notice the possibilities still standing in
- 9:22Speaker 1: front of you. You are staring at the closed door
- 9:24Speaker 1: so intensely that you cannot see the doors that are opening.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You are looking backwards so long that you cannot recognize
- 9:31Speaker 1: what is happening ahead. You are asking, why wasn't I
- 9:34Speaker 1: enough for them? Instead, ask yourself, why am I allowing
- 9:38Speaker 1: their decision to determine how I see myself? That question
- 9:41Speaker 1: changes everything. Because you cannot control who chooses you. You
- 9:45Speaker 1: cannot control who understands you. You cannot control who stays.
- 9:49Speaker 1: But you can control whether you abandon yourself because somebody
- 9:52Speaker 1: else did. And that is the battle you must win.
- 9:55Speaker 1: The battle is not always against the person who rejected you.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Sometimes the battle is against the voice inside your own
- 10:01Speaker 1: head that says, maybe they were right about me. No.
- 10:05Speaker 1: You have to challenge that voice. You have to remind
- 10:08Speaker 1: yourself that one failure does not make you a failure.
- 10:11Speaker 1: One rejection does not make you rejectable. One broken relationship
- 10:15Speaker 1: does not mean you are incapable of being loved. One
- 10:18Speaker 1: missed opportunity does not mean opportunity is finished. One person's
- 10:22Speaker 1: opinion does not become your identity. You have to stop
- 10:24Speaker 1: taking every rejection personally. Sometimes people reject things they are
- 10:28Speaker 1: not ready for. Sometimes people reject things they don't understand.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Sometimes people reject things because of their own fears, insecurities, expectations,
- 10:37Speaker 1: or circumstances. their decision may tell you something about them.
- 10:41Speaker 1: It does not necessarily tell you everything about you. And
- 10:44Speaker 1: when you understand that you stop begging people to validate
- 10:48Speaker 1: what you should already know, you stop saying, please see me.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You start saying, I see myself. You stop saying, please
- 10:55Speaker 1: choose me. You start saying, I choose growth. You stop saying,
- 10:59Speaker 1: please stay. You start saying, I will remain faithful to
- 11:03Speaker 1: who I am becoming. That is not arrogance. That is
- 11:06Speaker 1: healthy self-respect. There is a difference between believing you are
- 11:10Speaker 1: better than everybody else and understanding that you do not
- 11:13Speaker 1: have to believe you are less than everybody else. You
- 11:16Speaker 1: don't need superiority. You need stability. You need to know
- 11:20Speaker 1: that your value doesn't rise when someone praises you and
- 11:23Speaker 1: doesn't fall when someone criticizes you. You need an inner foundation.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Because if you don't build that foundation, the world will
- 11:30Speaker 1: build your identity for you. And the world will constantly
- 11:33Speaker 1: change its mind. Today they praise you. Tomorrow they criticize you.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Today they invite you. Tomorrow they ignore you. Today they
- 11:41Speaker 1: celebrate you. Tomorrow they question you. If you live according
- 11:44Speaker 1: to that cycle, you will never have peace. You will
- 11:47Speaker 1: always be performing for approval. and eventually you won't even
- 11:51Speaker 1: know whether people love you for who you are or
- 11:54Speaker 1: for the version of yourself you created to keep them happy.
- 11:57Speaker 1: That is why rejection can become a strange kind of freedom.
- 12:00Speaker 1: It can teach you to stop performing. It can teach
- 12:02Speaker 1: you to stop pretending. It can teach you to stop chasing.
- 12:06Speaker 1: It can teach you to stop begging. It can teach
- 12:09Speaker 1: you to stand still long enough to ask yourself, who
- 12:12Speaker 1: am I when nobody is applauding? That question is powerful.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Who are you when nobody is texting you? Who are
- 12:18Speaker 1: you when nobody is complimenting you? Who are you when
- 12:21Speaker 1: nobody notices your effort? Who are you when the crowd disappears?
- 12:25Speaker 1: Because that person is the one you have to learn
- 12:27Speaker 1: to love, respect, and develop. Not because you don't need
- 12:30Speaker 1: other people. We all need people. Community matters. Healthy relationships matter.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Support matters. But your entire identity cannot depend on whether
- 12:39Speaker 1: somebody else chooses to remain. People can walk beside you.
- 12:42Speaker 1: They cannot become the foundation beneath you. Your foundation has
- 12:46Speaker 1: to be deeper than that. And when that foundation becomes strong,
- 12:49Speaker 1: rejection changes its meaning. It still hurts, but it no
- 12:53Speaker 1: longer controls you. It becomes information instead of identity. It
- 12:57Speaker 1: becomes a lesson instead of a life sentence. It becomes
- 13:00Speaker 1: a chapter instead of the whole story. You begin to
- 13:02Speaker 1: realize that sometimes the people who reject you are not
- 13:06Speaker 1: rejecting the best version of you. They are simply responding
- 13:09Speaker 1: to the version of you they were able or willing
- 13:11Speaker 1: to understand. And you don't have to spend your life
- 13:14Speaker 1: convincing them. You have somewhere else to go. You have
- 13:18Speaker 1: things to learn. You have character to build. You have
- 13:20Speaker 1: dreams to pursue. You have a life to live. So
- 13:23Speaker 1: don't spend tomorrow trying to get yesterday's people to validate
- 13:26Speaker 1: today's version of you. Keep growing. Keep learning. Keep becoming.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Keep your heart open, but keep your identity anchored. Because
- 13:35Speaker 1: the moment you understand that rejection cannot determine your worth,
- 13:38Speaker 1: you become harder to manipulate. You no longer tolerate disrespect
- 13:42Speaker 1: just because you are afraid of being alone. You no
- 13:45Speaker 1: longer say yes when everything inside you is screaming no.
- 13:48Speaker 1: You no longer sacrifice your peace simply to keep somebody around.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You no longer confuse being accepted with being valued, and
- 13:55Speaker 1: you begin to understand that the right people will not
- 13:57Speaker 1: require you to destroy yourself just to remain in their lives.
- 14:01Speaker 1: There is a moment in life when you have to
- 14:03Speaker 1: stop running after what keeps running away from you. You
- 14:07Speaker 1: have to stop knocking on doors that have already been closed.
- 14:10Speaker 1: You have to stop sending explanations to people who have
- 14:13Speaker 1: already made up their minds. You have to stop exhausting
- 14:16Speaker 1: your heart trying to convince somebody to care. Because there
- 14:20Speaker 1: is a difference between fighting for something and fighting to
- 14:23Speaker 1: make something exist that no longer wants to exist. Sometimes
- 14:27Speaker 1: we call it loyalty when, in reality, we are afraid
- 14:30Speaker 1: to let go. Sometimes we call it persistence when, in reality,
- 14:33Speaker 1: we are refusing to accept what someone's actions have already
- 14:36Speaker 1: told us. Sometimes we say, I just need to try
- 14:39Speaker 1: one more time, one more conversation, one more message, one
- 14:42Speaker 1: more apology, one more explanation, one more opportunity. But how
- 14:46Speaker 1: many times are you going to keep knocking on the
- 14:49Speaker 1: same door before you realize that your life is waiting
- 14:52Speaker 1: for you somewhere else? You cannot force a person to
- 14:55Speaker 1: meet you at a place they have consciously decided not
- 14:57Speaker 1: to enter. You cannot drag somebody into commitment. You cannot
- 15:02Speaker 1: beg somebody into understanding. You cannot pressure somebody into appreciating you.
- 15:07Speaker 1: And you cannot love somebody so hard that they suddenly
- 15:10Speaker 1: become ready to give you what they have already decided
- 15:12Speaker 1: not to give. That is a painful truth, but sometimes
- 15:15Speaker 1: truth is painful before it becomes freeing. You have to
- 15:18Speaker 1: learn to pay attention to actions. Words can be beautiful.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Promises can sound convincing. Explanations can be complicated, but actions
- 15:26Speaker 1: have a language of their own. When someone consistently makes
- 15:29Speaker 1: time for you, that tells you something. When someone consistently
- 15:33Speaker 1: respects you, that tells you something. When someone consistently shows up,
- 15:37Speaker 1: that tells you something. And when someone consistently disappears, dismisses you,
- 15:42Speaker 1: or makes you feel like you have to earn basic respect,
- 15:45Speaker 1: that tells you something too. You don't have to hate them.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You don't have to attack them. You don't have to
- 15:51Speaker 1: create a war. You simply have to accept reality. Acceptance
- 15:54Speaker 1: is not weakness. Acceptance is recognizing what you cannot control.
- 15:58Speaker 1: You can control your effort. You can control your attitude.
- 16:01Speaker 1: You can control your choices. You can control your response.
- 16:05Speaker 1: But you cannot control another person's heart. You cannot control
- 16:08Speaker 1: another person's priorities. You cannot control another person's decision to
- 16:12Speaker 1: stay or leave. And the sooner you understand that the
- 16:16Speaker 1: sooner you stop wasting your energy trying to control what
- 16:19Speaker 1: was never yours to control, think about how much energy
- 16:22Speaker 1: people spend chasing someone who has already made their decision.
- 16:26Speaker 1: They lose sleep. They overthink every conversation. They analyze every message.
- 16:30Speaker 1: They ask friends what they should say. They wonder what
- 16:33Speaker 1: they could do differently. They change themselves. They become desperate.
- 16:38Speaker 1: They start believing that if they just become more attractive,
- 16:41Speaker 1: more successful, more available, more agreeable, more patient, or more understanding,
- 16:46Speaker 1: the other person will finally choose them. But hear this clearly,
- 16:49Speaker 1: you should never have to become a completely different person
- 16:53Speaker 1: just to convince someone to value your presence. Growth is good.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Improvement is good. But changing your identity just to keep
- 17:00Speaker 1: somebody is dangerous because eventually you may succeed in keeping
- 17:04Speaker 1: the person while losing yourself. And what good is it
- 17:07Speaker 1: to have somebody beside you if you have to disappear
- 17:10Speaker 1: in order to keep them there? What good is it
- 17:12Speaker 1: to have a relationship where your voice is silent? What
- 17:15Speaker 1: good is it to have companionship where your confidence is
- 17:18Speaker 1: constantly shrinking? What good is it to have somebody present
- 17:21Speaker 1: physically while you are emotionally exhausted trying to earn their approval?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Sometimes you have to stop asking, how can I make
- 17:29Speaker 1: them stay? And start asking, why am I so afraid
- 17:32Speaker 1: to let them go? That question can expose something deep
- 17:35Speaker 1: inside you. Maybe you're afraid of being alone. Maybe you're
- 17:39Speaker 1: afraid nobody else will come. Maybe you're afraid you will
- 17:42Speaker 1: regret your decision. Maybe you're afraid people will judge you.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Maybe you're afraid that letting go means you failed. But
- 17:49Speaker 1: letting go does not always mean you failed. Sometimes letting
- 17:52Speaker 1: go means you finally accepted that you cannot carry something
- 17:55Speaker 1: by yourself. A relationship requires participation. A friendship requires effort
- 18:00Speaker 1: from both sides. Trust requires consistency. Respect requires mutual understanding.
- 18:05Speaker 1: You cannot build something meaningful with only one person doing
- 18:08Speaker 1: all the building. If you are always initiating, always apologizing,
- 18:12Speaker 1: always explaining, always forgiving, always reaching out, always trying to repair,
- 18:17Speaker 1: always carrying the emotional weight, eventually you will become exhausted.
- 18:21Speaker 1: And exhaustion can make you mistake attachment for love. You
- 18:24Speaker 1: may think, I can't live without this person. But sometimes
- 18:28Speaker 1: what you cannot imagine living without is not the person.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It is the familiarity. It is the routine. It is
- 18:34Speaker 1: the memories. It is the version of the future you imagined.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And there is a difference between losing a person and
- 18:40Speaker 1: losing the future you imagined with that person. Sometimes what
- 18:44Speaker 1: hurts most is not what actually happened. It is what
- 18:47Speaker 1: you thought was going to happen. You imagined where the
- 18:49Speaker 1: friendship would go. You imagined the conversations you would still have.
- 18:54Speaker 1: You imagined the experiences you would share. You imagined them
- 18:57Speaker 1: being there years from now. Then suddenly reality changed. And
- 19:01Speaker 1: now you are grieving an expectation. That is why letting
- 19:04Speaker 1: go can feel so difficult. But you cannot build your
- 19:07Speaker 1: future around an expectation that another person has already abandoned.
- 19:11Speaker 1: At some point, you have to stop trying to resurrect
- 19:14Speaker 1: what has already ended. You have to honor what it
- 19:16Speaker 1: was without demanding that it become what it no longer is.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Some relationships are lessons. Some are seasons. Some are bridges.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Some are temporary companions on a permanent journey. And just
- 19:27Speaker 1: because someone was important to one chapter does not mean
- 19:30Speaker 1: they were designed to be present in every chapter. Think
- 19:34Speaker 1: about a school year. You meet people. You laugh together.
- 19:36Speaker 1: You learn together. You share experiences. Then the year ends.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Some people remain. Some people move away. Some people become distant.
- 19:44Speaker 1: The fact that the relationship changed does not mean the
- 19:46Speaker 1: time you shared was meaningless. It simply means life moves.
- 19:50Speaker 1: People change. Circumstances change, and you have to learn how
- 19:54Speaker 1: to move with life instead of constantly fighting to return
- 19:57Speaker 1: to what used to be. There are people who spend
- 20:00Speaker 1: years trying to recreate a season that was never meant
- 20:02Speaker 1: to last forever. They keep saying, it used to be different. Exactly,
- 20:07Speaker 1: it used to be. And sometimes you have to stop
- 20:10Speaker 1: living in who's to be. Because your future cannot be
- 20:13Speaker 1: built in a place your life has already moved beyond.
- 20:16Speaker 1: You have to recognize when a season has changed. That
- 20:19Speaker 1: does not mean you become cold. It means you become wise.
- 20:22Speaker 1: You can appreciate someone without chasing them. You can care
- 20:25Speaker 1: without controlling. You can forgive without returning to the same pattern.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You can remember without going backward. You can love people
- 20:33Speaker 1: from a healthy distance when closeness is no longer healthy.
- 20:36Speaker 1: That is maturity. Maturity is realizing that not every disagreement
- 20:40Speaker 1: needs to become a war. Not every departure needs to
- 20:43Speaker 1: become revenge. Not every rejection needs to become bitterness. Sometimes
- 20:47Speaker 1: you simply say, I understand, and you keep moving. That
- 20:51Speaker 1: is strength. Because real strength is not always loud. Sometimes
- 20:55Speaker 1: strength is the decision not to send the message. Sometimes
- 20:58Speaker 1: strength is walking away from an argument. Sometimes strength is
- 21:01Speaker 1: refusing to beg. Sometimes strength is accepting that you have
- 21:05Speaker 1: done everything you reasonably could. You don't need to keep
- 21:08Speaker 1: proving that you care. You don't need to keep explaining
- 21:11Speaker 1: your intentions to somebody committed to misunderstanding them. And you
- 21:15Speaker 1: certainly don't need to destroy your peace trying to control
- 21:18Speaker 1: somebody else's opinion. Let them have their version. You have
- 21:22Speaker 1: your life to live. There will always be people who
- 21:25Speaker 1: misunderstand your choices. There will always be people who tell
- 21:28Speaker 1: the story differently. There will always be people who believe
- 21:32Speaker 1: they know your motives. You cannot spend your entire life
- 21:35Speaker 1: correcting every misunderstanding. Sometimes silence is enough. Sometimes distance is enough.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Sometimes your life becomes the answer. You don't need to
- 21:43Speaker 1: announce your growth. You don't need to tell everybody that
- 21:47Speaker 1: you are changing. You don't need to prove that you
- 21:49Speaker 1: are moving forward. Just move. There is power in quietly
- 21:53Speaker 1: rebuilding your life. While they are talking, you are learning.
- 21:57Speaker 1: While they are judging, you are growing. While they are
- 22:00Speaker 1: watching your past, you are preparing your future. You don't
- 22:03Speaker 1: have to fight every battle. Some battles are won by
- 22:06Speaker 1: refusing to participate. And there is something powerful about realizing
- 22:09Speaker 1: that you don't need closure from everyone. Sometimes you want
- 22:12Speaker 1: one final conversation, one final explanation, one final apology, one
- 22:17Speaker 1: final answer. But closure does not always come from another
- 22:20Speaker 1: person's mouth. Sometimes closure comes when you finally accept what happened.
- 22:25Speaker 1: You stop waiting for them to explain. You stop waiting
- 22:28Speaker 1: for them to understand. You stop waiting for them to apologize.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You stop waiting for them to become the person you
- 22:34Speaker 1: hoped they would be. And you tell yourself, I may
- 22:37Speaker 1: never get the explanation I wanted, but I can still
- 22:40Speaker 1: choose peace. That is freedom. Because when your peace depends
- 22:44Speaker 1: on another person's apology, you have handed them control over
- 22:47Speaker 1: your emotional life. Take that control back. You cannot control
- 22:51Speaker 1: whether they regret losing you. You cannot control whether they
- 22:54Speaker 1: miss you. You cannot control whether they eventually recognize your value.
- 22:59Speaker 1: You cannot control whether they come back. And you shouldn't
- 23:02Speaker 1: build your life around waiting for any of those things.
- 23:05Speaker 1: If they return someday, that is their decision. If they
- 23:08Speaker 1: never return, that is also their decision. Your decision is
- 23:12Speaker 1: what you do with your life now. Do you continue
- 23:14Speaker 1: standing at the same door? Or do you start walking
- 23:17Speaker 1: toward the life that is still waiting for you? Do
- 23:20Speaker 1: you continue replaying the same conversation? Or do you learn
- 23:23Speaker 1: the lesson and move forward? Do you continue asking why
- 23:26Speaker 1: they didn't choose you? Or do you begin choosing yourself?
- 23:29Speaker 1: Because every day you spend chasing someone who has chosen
- 23:32Speaker 1: distance is a day you are not investing in your
- 23:34Speaker 1: own growth. Your attention is a resource. Your energy is
- 23:38Speaker 1: a resource. Your time is a resource. And you need
- 23:42Speaker 1: to become intentional about where you spend them. Not everybody
- 23:45Speaker 1: deserves unlimited access to your attention. Not everybody deserves your
- 23:49Speaker 1: constant explanations. Not everybody deserves repeated chances. Not everybody deserves
- 23:54Speaker 1: a front row seat to your life. An understanding that
- 23:57Speaker 1: does not make you selfish. It makes you responsible. You
- 24:00Speaker 1: have responsibilities to your own future. You have dreams you
- 24:03Speaker 1: haven't reached yet. You have lessons you haven't learned yet.
- 24:07Speaker 1: You have skills you haven't developed yet. You have parts
- 24:10Speaker 1: of yourself you haven't discovered yet, and you cannot discover
- 24:13Speaker 1: all of that while constantly running backward. Sometimes your next
- 24:17Speaker 1: level requires you to stop chasing your previous one. Sometimes
- 24:21Speaker 1: the door behind you needs to remain closed so you
- 24:23Speaker 1: can finally face the road ahead. And when you turn around,
- 24:27Speaker 1: you may realize something. You were never supposed to chase
- 24:30Speaker 1: them forever. You were supposed to learn when to stop.
- 24:34Speaker 1: You were supposed to learn that your worth doesn't require pursuit.
- 24:37Speaker 1: You were supposed to learn that mutual effort matters. You
- 24:40Speaker 1: were supposed to learn that love without respect becomes exhaustion.
- 24:44Speaker 1: You were supposed to learn that loyalty without boundaries becomes self-neglect.
- 24:49Speaker 1: You were supposed to learn that there are moments when
- 24:51Speaker 1: walking away is not giving up. It is choosing peace.
- 24:56Speaker 1: choosing growth. And once you learn that, you stop chasing
- 25:00Speaker 1: people into places where they have already decided not to
- 25:02Speaker 1: meet you. There is a point in your life when
- 25:05Speaker 1: you have to understand that being a good person does
- 25:07Speaker 1: not mean being available for everything, everyone, and every situation.
- 25:12Speaker 1: You can have a good heart and still have boundaries.
- 25:15Speaker 1: You can forgive people and still protect your peace. You
- 25:18Speaker 1: can care about somebody and still decide that they no
- 25:21Speaker 1: longer have unlimited access to you. You can wish someone
- 25:24Speaker 1: well without allowing them to continue hurting you. That is
- 25:27Speaker 1: not bitterness. That is wisdom. Some people were taught that
- 25:31Speaker 1: saying no makes them selfish. They were taught that if
- 25:34Speaker 1: you really love someone, you should always be available. They
- 25:38Speaker 1: were taught that keeping peace means avoiding every difficult conversation.
- 25:42Speaker 1: They were taught that forgiveness means forgetting everything and pretending
- 25:46Speaker 1: nothing happened. But real maturity teaches you something different. Peace
- 25:50Speaker 1: is not the absence of boundaries. Sometimes boundaries are what
- 25:54Speaker 1: create peace. You cannot keep leaving every door of your
- 25:57Speaker 1: life wide open and then wonder why everything keeps walking in.
- 26:01Speaker 1: You have to decide what belongs in your life and
- 26:03Speaker 1: what does not. You have to decide what behavior you
- 26:06Speaker 1: will accept. You have to decide what behavior you will
- 26:09Speaker 1: no longer tolerate. You have to decide what conversations deserve
- 26:12Speaker 1: your energy and which ones do not. And most importantly,
- 26:16Speaker 1: you have to understand that you are allowed to protect
- 26:18Speaker 1: yourself without hating anybody. You don't have to become cruel
- 26:22Speaker 1: because someone treated you badly. You don't have to become
- 26:25Speaker 1: cold because someone broke your trust. You don't have to
- 26:29Speaker 1: stop caring because somebody failed to appreciate your care. You
- 26:32Speaker 1: simply have to become wiser about access. Not everybody who
- 26:36Speaker 1: wants access to you deserves access to you. Read that
- 26:39Speaker 1: again in your heart. Not everybody who wants access to
- 26:42Speaker 1: your time deserves your time. Not everybody who wants your
- 26:45Speaker 1: attention deserves your attention. Not everybody who wants your energy
- 26:49Speaker 1: deserves your energy. Not everybody who knows your name deserves
- 26:52Speaker 1: to know your entire story. There is a difference between
- 26:56Speaker 1: being open and being unprotected. There is a difference between
- 26:59Speaker 1: kindness and people pleasing. There is a difference between forgiveness
- 27:03Speaker 1: and repeatedly allowing the same harmful behavior. And there is
- 27:07Speaker 1: a difference between humility and constantly putting yourself beneath everybody else.
- 27:11Speaker 1: You have to learn those differences. Because if you don't,
- 27:15Speaker 1: people will teach you to abandon yourself while calling it kindness.
- 27:19Speaker 1: They will make you feel guilty for having standards. They
- 27:22Speaker 1: will make you feel guilty for saying no. They will
- 27:24Speaker 1: make you feel guilty for needing space. They will make
- 27:28Speaker 1: you feel guilty for protecting your peace. But you have
- 27:31Speaker 1: to remember, guilt does not always mean you are doing
- 27:33Speaker 1: something wrong. Sometimes guilt appears because you are doing something unfamiliar.
- 27:38Speaker 1: If you have spent your whole life making everybody else comfortable,
- 27:42Speaker 1: then the first time you choose yourself, it may feel uncomfortable.
- 27:46Speaker 1: You may wonder, am I being selfish? Maybe you're not.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Maybe you are finally learning balance. Maybe you are finally
- 27:53Speaker 1: understanding that your needs matter too. Maybe you are finally
- 27:56Speaker 1: recognizing that you cannot pour endlessly from an empty cup.
- 28:00Speaker 1: You cannot keep giving while receiving disrespect. You cannot keep
- 28:03Speaker 1: sacrificing your mental space simply because someone expects you to.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You cannot keep saying yes when your heart is exhausted
- 28:10Speaker 1: from saying no to itself. There is a version of
- 28:13Speaker 1: kindness that destroys you because it has no boundaries. You
- 28:17Speaker 1: say yes because you don't want to disappoint anybody. You
- 28:20Speaker 1: agree because you don't want conflict. You stay quiet because
- 28:23Speaker 1: you don't want people to misunderstand you. You forgive immediately
- 28:27Speaker 1: because you are afraid they will leave. You tolerate disrespect
- 28:30Speaker 1: because you are afraid of being alone. And slowly, quietly,
- 28:33Speaker 1: you begin disappearing, not physically, emotionally. You stop saying what
- 28:38Speaker 1: you really think. You stop expressing what you really feel.
- 28:41Speaker 1: You stop pursuing what you really want. You become whatever
- 28:45Speaker 1: everyone else needs you to be. And one day you
- 28:47Speaker 1: look in the mirror and realize that you have spent
- 28:50Speaker 1: so much time trying to be everything to everybody that
- 28:53Speaker 1: you don't recognize yourself anymore. That is what happens when
- 28:56Speaker 1: you have no boundaries. You lose yourself while trying to
- 29:00Speaker 1: keep everybody else comfortable. But you were not created to
- 29:03Speaker 1: live your entire life managing everybody else's emotions. You are
- 29:07Speaker 1: responsible for treating people with respect. You are not responsible
- 29:10Speaker 1: for making everyone agree with you. You are responsible for
- 29:13Speaker 1: being honest. You are not responsible for making everyone happy.
- 29:18Speaker 1: You are responsible for your choices. You are not responsible
- 29:21Speaker 1: for controlling how everyone reacts to those choices. Somebody may
- 29:24Speaker 1: become upset because you said no. That doesn't automatically mean
- 29:28Speaker 1: your no was wrong. Somebody may become angry because you
- 29:31Speaker 1: established a boundary. That doesn't automatically mean the boundary was unfair.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Somebody may accuse you of changing because you stopped tolerating
- 29:39Speaker 1: behavior you once accepted yes you changed and maybe that
- 29:43Speaker 1: was necessary you are allowed to become more discerning you
- 29:46Speaker 1: are allowed to become more careful you are allowed to
- 29:49Speaker 1: learn from your experiences you are allowed to say i
- 29:52Speaker 1: will not participate in that anymore you are allowed to
- 29:56Speaker 1: say that does not work for me You are allowed
- 29:59Speaker 1: to say, I need some space. You are allowed to say,
- 30:02Speaker 1: I respect you but I disagree. You are allowed to say,
- 30:06Speaker 1: I forgive you but I need distance. Those statements do
- 30:09Speaker 1: not make you a bad person. They make you a
- 30:11Speaker 1: person who understands that self-respect requires action. Because boundaries are
- 30:16Speaker 1: not just words. Boundaries are decisions. A boundary means you
- 30:20Speaker 1: know what you will do when something crosses a line.
- 30:23Speaker 1: It is not about controlling another person. It is about
- 30:26Speaker 1: controlling your participation. You cannot force someone to behave differently,
- 30:30Speaker 1: but you can decide what you will do when they don't.
- 30:33Speaker 1: That is powerful. You don't have to spend your life
- 30:35Speaker 1: trying to change people. Sometimes the healthier decision is to
- 30:39Speaker 1: change your position, move back, create distance, reduce access. Stop
- 30:43Speaker 1: participating in conversations that repeatedly become disrespectful. Stop explaining yourself
- 30:49Speaker 1: to someone who refuses to listen. Stop volunteering your energy
- 30:52Speaker 1: where it is constantly taken for granted. You don't need
- 30:55Speaker 1: to announce every boundary. You don't need to make a
- 30:58Speaker 1: speech every time you make a decision. Sometimes the most
- 31:01Speaker 1: powerful boundary is simply your behavior. You stop responding to
- 31:05Speaker 1: every provocation. You stop arguing. You stop explaining. You stop chasing.
- 31:09Speaker 1: You stop allowing yourself to be pulled into the same cycle.
- 31:12Speaker 1: And people may notice. They may ask, why are you different?
- 31:16Speaker 1: Because you are different, you learned. You grew. You finally
- 31:20Speaker 1: realized that peace is worth protecting. And once you understand
- 31:23Speaker 1: your value, you begin to become selective about what you
- 31:26Speaker 1: allow into your life. You begin asking different questions. Does
- 31:30Speaker 1: this relationship bring mutual respect? Does this friendship have healthy communication?
- 31:35Speaker 1: Do I feel safe being myself around these people? Can
- 31:38Speaker 1: I disagree without being attacked? Can I make a mistake
- 31:41Speaker 1: without being humiliated? Can I have boundaries without being punished?
- 31:45Speaker 1: Can I grow without being made to feel guilty? Those
- 31:48Speaker 1: questions matter. Because healthy relationships do not require you to
- 31:51Speaker 1: constantly betray yourself. Healthy relationships have room for honesty. They
- 31:56Speaker 1: have room for disagreement. They have room for growth. They
- 31:59Speaker 1: have room for individuality. You should not have to disappear
- 32:03Speaker 1: to maintain a connection. You should not have to silence
- 32:06Speaker 1: your values to keep someone around. You should not have
- 32:09Speaker 1: to become smaller so somebody else can feel bigger. And
- 32:12Speaker 1: you should not have to apologize for needing respect. Respect
- 32:16Speaker 1: is not something you should have to beg for. It
- 32:18Speaker 1: is something that should exist in a healthy relationship. This
- 32:22Speaker 1: does not mean you will never experience conflict. Every relationship
- 32:25Speaker 1: has conflict. People misunderstand each other. People make mistakes. People
- 32:30Speaker 1: say things they regret. The difference is how the conflict
- 32:33Speaker 1: is handled. Can both people listen? Can both people take responsibility?
- 32:37Speaker 1: Can both people apologize? Can both people make changes? Can
- 32:41Speaker 1: both people respect each other's boundaries? That is where maturity
- 32:44Speaker 1: becomes visible. Because anybody can say, I care about you.
- 32:48Speaker 1: But behavior reveals whether that care has substance. Anybody can
- 32:52Speaker 1: promise to change. Consistency reveals whether change is real. Anybody
- 32:56Speaker 1: can say they respect you. Their actions reveal whether they
- 32:59Speaker 1: actually do. And you have to stop ignoring patterns simply
- 33:03Speaker 1: because you are attached to potential. Potential is not the
- 33:06Speaker 1: same as reality. You cannot build your life around who
- 33:09Speaker 1: somebody might become. You have to respond to who they
- 33:12Speaker 1: are consistently showing themselves to be. That does not mean
- 33:15Speaker 1: giving up on people at the first mistake. It means
- 33:18Speaker 1: recognizing patterns. One mistake can be corrected. A repeated pattern
- 33:22Speaker 1: requires a decision. And sometimes the decision is not revenge.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Sometimes the decision is distance. There is freedom in realizing
- 33:30Speaker 1: that you don't have to punish people for your boundaries
- 33:32Speaker 1: to be valid. You don't have to make them suffer.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You don't have to make them jealous. You don't have
- 33:38Speaker 1: to prove that you're doing better. You don't have to
- 33:41Speaker 1: get even. You simply have to move differently. Let your
- 33:44Speaker 1: growth speak. Let your consistency speak. Let your peace speak.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Let your life speak. Because when you are secure within yourself,
- 33:51Speaker 1: you don't need to make somebody else feel small to
- 33:54Speaker 1: feel strong. You don't need revenge. You need restoration. You
- 33:57Speaker 1: need to restore the parts of yourself that you abandoned
- 34:00Speaker 1: while trying to keep the relationship alive. Restore your confidence.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Restore your voice. Restore your standards. Restore your ability to
- 34:08Speaker 1: trust your own judgment. Restore your ability to say no
- 34:11Speaker 1: without apologizing for existing and understand something else boundaries may
- 34:16Speaker 1: change your relationships. Some people will respect your boundaries. Others
- 34:20Speaker 1: will resist them. And that resistance can reveal something important.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Sometimes people are comfortable with the version of you that
- 34:27Speaker 1: has no boundaries because that version is easier for them
- 34:30Speaker 1: to control. The moment you begin saying no, they may
- 34:33Speaker 1: accuse you of becoming selfish. The moment you stop over giving,
- 34:37Speaker 1: they may say you have changed. The moment you stop
- 34:40Speaker 1: tolerating disrespect, they may say you are difficult. Don't let
- 34:43Speaker 1: those accusations automatically pull you back. Ask yourself why your
- 34:47Speaker 1: boundaries are making them uncomfortable. Sometimes the person who benefited
- 34:51Speaker 1: from your lack of boundaries will be the person most
- 34:54Speaker 1: upset when you develop them. That does not mean every
- 34:57Speaker 1: criticism is correct. It means you should evaluate it carefully
- 35:01Speaker 1: rather than immediately abandoning yourself again. Listen, learn, reflect. But
- 35:06Speaker 1: don't automatically surrender your standards because somebody doesn't like them.
- 35:10Speaker 1: You can be compassionate without being easily manipulated. You can
- 35:13Speaker 1: be generous without being endlessly available. You can be forgiving
- 35:17Speaker 1: without being careless. You can be loving without losing yourself.
- 35:21Speaker 1: And you can have a soft heart with a strong spine.
- 35:24Speaker 1: That combination is powerful. Because the goal is not to
- 35:27Speaker 1: become unreachable. The goal is to become healthy enough to
- 35:30Speaker 1: know who should have access and under what circumstances. You
- 35:33Speaker 1: don't need to build walls around your heart. You need doors.
- 35:37Speaker 1: And you need wisdom about when those doors should open
- 35:40Speaker 1: and when they should remain closed. There will be people
- 35:43Speaker 1: who deserve another conversation. There will be people who deserve
- 35:46Speaker 1: another chance. There will be people who genuinely make mistakes
- 35:50Speaker 1: and take responsibility. Give room for that. But there will
- 35:54Speaker 1: also be situations where the healthiest thing you can do
- 35:57Speaker 1: is step away. And knowing the difference is part of
- 36:00Speaker 1: growing up. You don't have to prove your strength by
- 36:02Speaker 1: staying in every situation. Sometimes strength is knowing when to
- 36:06Speaker 1: leave the argument. Sometimes strength is knowing when to end
- 36:10Speaker 1: the conversation. Sometimes strength is knowing when to stop explaining.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Sometimes strength is knowing when to close the door quietly
- 36:17Speaker 1: and continue walking. Because your peace is not something you
- 36:20Speaker 1: should constantly sacrifice just to prove that you are loyal.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Loyalty without wisdom can become self-neglect. Keenness without boundaries can
- 36:28Speaker 1: become exhaustion. Forgiveness without discernment can become repetition. And love
- 36:33Speaker 1: without self-respect can become a place where you slowly lose yourself.
- 36:37Speaker 1: You must learn to protect the person you are becoming.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Because the person you are becoming needs your attention too.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Your future needs your energy. Your dreams need your focus.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Your growth needs your time. And every time you give
- 36:50Speaker 1: all of that away trying to keep somebody else happy...
- 36:53Speaker 1: you are taking something away from your own development. So
- 36:56Speaker 1: begin asking yourself, what am I allowing that I know
- 36:59Speaker 1: is unhealthy for me? Where am I saying yes because
- 37:02Speaker 1: I am afraid to say no? Where am I staying
- 37:04Speaker 1: because I am afraid of change? Where am I accepting
- 37:07Speaker 1: less because I am afraid that nothing better will come?
- 37:10Speaker 1: Where am I confusing patients with tolerating repeated disrespect? Where
- 37:14Speaker 1: am I sacrificing myself simply because I want somebody else
- 37:17Speaker 1: to stay? Those questions may be uncomfortable. But uncomfortable questions
- 37:22Speaker 1: can produce powerful growth. Because once you become honest with yourself,
- 37:26Speaker 1: you can begin making different decisions. And sometimes the first
- 37:29Speaker 1: boundary you need is not with another person. It is
- 37:32Speaker 1: with yourself. You have to stop yourself from going back
- 37:35Speaker 1: to the same cycle. Stop yourself from reopening the same wound.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Stop yourself from chasing the same validation. Stop yourself from
- 37:43Speaker 1: accepting the same excuses. Stop yourself from betraying your own
- 37:47Speaker 1: standards just because you miss somebody. Missing someone does not
- 37:50Speaker 1: mean you need to return to the same situation. Loneliness
- 37:53Speaker 1: does not mean you should abandon your boundaries. Nostalgia does
- 37:57Speaker 1: not mean the past was healthy. And forgiveness does not
- 38:00Speaker 1: require you to forget what you learned. You can remember
- 38:03Speaker 1: the lesson without carrying the anger. You can release the
- 38:07Speaker 1: resentment without reopening the door. You can move forward without hatred.
- 38:11Speaker 1: And that is where boundaries become more than protection. They
- 38:14Speaker 1: become a declaration. A declaration that your life matters. Your
- 38:18Speaker 1: peace matters. Your voice matters. Your time matters. Your future matters.
- 38:22Speaker 1: And you are no longer willing to lose yourself just
- 38:25Speaker 1: because someone else wants access to you. There are seasons
- 38:28Speaker 1: in life when everything becomes quiet. The people you thought
- 38:31Speaker 1: would always be there become distant. The conversations become fewer.
- 38:35Speaker 1: the invitations slow down. The phone doesn't ring the way
- 38:38Speaker 1: it used to. And suddenly, you find yourself with more
- 38:42Speaker 1: time alone than you ever expected. At first, you may
- 38:45Speaker 1: think something is wrong. You may look around and wonder,
- 38:48Speaker 1: where did everybody go? You may begin comparing your life
- 38:51Speaker 1: to the lives of other people. You see people surrounded
- 38:55Speaker 1: by friends laughing together, celebrating together, moving forward together, and
- 38:59Speaker 1: you begin wondering why your own circle seems smaller. But
- 39:02Speaker 1: what if the smaller circle is not a punishment? What
- 39:05Speaker 1: if it is preparation? What if this quiet season is
- 39:08Speaker 1: not evidence that you have been forgotten? What if it
- 39:11Speaker 1: is an invitation to discover something you could not hear
- 39:15Speaker 1: when everybody else was speaking? There are lessons you can
- 39:17Speaker 1: only learn in quiet places. When the noise disappears, you
- 39:21Speaker 1: begin hearing your own thoughts. When the opinions become fewer
- 39:25Speaker 1: you begin discovering your own convictions. When the crowd moves
- 39:28Speaker 1: away you begin discovering whether you know how to move
- 39:31Speaker 1: without applause. And that is an important lesson. Because if
- 39:35Speaker 1: you only know how to move when people are cheering,
- 39:37Speaker 1: you will stop the moment they become silent. If you
- 39:41Speaker 1: only believe in yourself when someone compliments you, criticism will
- 39:44Speaker 1: destroy your confidence. If you only feel valuable when someone
- 39:48Speaker 1: needs you, being alone will make you feel worthless. But
- 39:51Speaker 1: solitude can teach you that your identity has to exist
- 39:54Speaker 1: beyond the crowd. You have to learn how to sit
- 39:56Speaker 1: with yourself. You have to learn how to think. You
- 40:00Speaker 1: have to learn how to reflect. You have to learn
- 40:02Speaker 1: how to become comfortable with your own company. Not because
- 40:05Speaker 1: you don't need people. You do. Healthy relationships matter. Friendship matters.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Family matters. Community matters. But there is a difference between
- 40:14Speaker 1: needing people and needing constant validation from people. When you
- 40:18Speaker 1: become afraid of being alone, you may start accepting relationships
- 40:21Speaker 1: that are not good for you simply because they prevent silence.
- 40:25Speaker 1: You may stay in situations that drain you because at
- 40:28Speaker 1: least someone is there. You may tolerate disrespect because you
- 40:31Speaker 1: fear the emptiness that might come after you leave. But
- 40:34Speaker 1: sometimes the emptiness you fear is actually space. Space for growth.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Space for healing. Space for learning. Space for creativity. Space
- 40:43Speaker 1: for discovering your direction. You may think, I'm alone. but
- 40:47Speaker 1: perhaps you are being given room to become. There are
- 40:50Speaker 1: things you cannot build while constantly distracted. There are dreams
- 40:53Speaker 1: that require focus. There are decisions that require clarity. There
- 40:58Speaker 1: are lessons that require reflection. There are parts of yourself
- 41:01Speaker 1: that you cannot discover when you are constantly trying to
- 41:04Speaker 1: keep up with everybody else. Sometimes you need to step
- 41:08Speaker 1: away from the noise long enough to hear what your
- 41:10Speaker 1: own heart is saying. What do you actually want? What
- 41:13Speaker 1: matters to you? What kind of person do you want
- 41:15Speaker 1: to become? What values do you want to live by?
- 41:19Speaker 1: What habits do you need to develop? What patterns do
- 41:22Speaker 1: you need to leave behind? What dreams have you been
- 41:24Speaker 1: postponing because you were too busy trying to impress people?
- 41:28Speaker 1: These are questions solitude can bring to the surface, and
- 41:31Speaker 1: they may not always be comfortable. Because when you're alone,
- 41:34Speaker 1: you cannot blame everybody else for everything. You have to
- 41:38Speaker 1: look at yourself. You have to take responsibility. You have
- 41:41Speaker 1: to acknowledge where you made mistakes. You have to recognize
- 41:45Speaker 1: where you ignored your own intuition. You have to admit
- 41:48Speaker 1: where you allowed fear to control you. You have to
- 41:51Speaker 1: confront the habits that kept you stuck. But that confrontation
- 41:54Speaker 1: can become transformation because you cannot change what you refuse
- 41:58Speaker 1: to acknowledge. Sometimes you need a quiet season because your
- 42:01Speaker 1: previous environment kept reinforcing an old version of you. Everybody
- 42:06Speaker 1: knew you as the person you used to be. They
- 42:08Speaker 1: expected you to behave the way you always behaved. They
- 42:11Speaker 1: remembered your mistakes. They remembered your insecurities. They remembered the
- 42:15Speaker 1: version of you that tolerated certain things. And when you
- 42:18Speaker 1: begin changing, some people may resist. Not necessarily because your
- 42:22Speaker 1: growth is wrong, but because your growth changes the relationship.
- 42:26Speaker 1: You no longer respond the same way. You no longer
- 42:29Speaker 1: laugh at the same things. You no longer participate in
- 42:32Speaker 1: the same habits. You no longer accept the same treatment.
- 42:35Speaker 1: You start becoming intentional and suddenly you feel different. That
- 42:39Speaker 1: difference can create distance. But don't automatically assume that every
- 42:43Speaker 1: distance is a disaster. Sometimes distance is evidence that you
- 42:47Speaker 1: are entering a new season. There are seasons when you
- 42:50Speaker 1: need to be surrounded. And there are seasons when you
- 42:53Speaker 1: need to be developed. You cannot always live in the harvest.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Sometimes you have to go through the planting. Sometimes you
- 42:59Speaker 1: have to work when nobody is watching. Sometimes you have
- 43:03Speaker 1: to learn when nobody is applauding. Sometimes you have to
- 43:06Speaker 1: practice when nobody is paying attention. Sometimes you have to
- 43:09Speaker 1: build quietly before anybody sees the results. The world often
- 43:13Speaker 1: celebrates the finished product. It rarely sees the preparation. People
- 43:17Speaker 1: may see confidence, but they don't see the years of learning.
- 43:20Speaker 1: They may see success, but they don't see the discipline.
- 43:24Speaker 1: They may see the result, but they don't see the
- 43:26Speaker 1: lonely hours of preparation. They may see the strength, but
- 43:30Speaker 1: they don't see the moments when you had to rebuild yourself.
- 43:33Speaker 1: That is why you should never despise the quiet season.
- 43:36Speaker 1: The quiet season may be where your foundation is being strengthened.
- 43:40Speaker 1: A building cannot stand tall without a strong foundation. And
- 43:43Speaker 1: your life is the same. Before you rise publicly, you
- 43:46Speaker 1: may need to grow privately. Before you lead others, you
- 43:49Speaker 1: may need to learn how to lead yourself. Before you
- 43:52Speaker 1: carry greater responsibility, you may need to develop greater discipline.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Before you enter a new environment, you may need to
- 43:58Speaker 1: become the person capable of handling it. And sometimes solitude
- 44:02Speaker 1: gives you the space to do exactly that. You begin reading.
- 44:06Speaker 1: You begin learning. You begin practicing. You begin organizing your priorities.
- 44:10Speaker 1: You begin taking better care of your responsibilities. You begin
- 44:14Speaker 1: thinking before reacting. You begin choosing your words carefully. You
- 44:18Speaker 1: begin recognizing your triggers. You begin understanding your emotions. You
- 44:23Speaker 1: begin discovering what actually gives your life meaning. And little
- 44:26Speaker 1: by little, you become stronger, not louder. Stronger, there is
- 44:29Speaker 1: a difference. Loudness can attract attention. strength can withstand pressure,
- 44:34Speaker 1: and solitude can teach you the difference. When you stop
- 44:37Speaker 1: needing everyone to understand you, you become freer. When you
- 44:41Speaker 1: stop needing everyone to approve of you, you become more confident.
- 44:44Speaker 1: When you stop needing everyone to accompany you, you become
- 44:47Speaker 1: more independent. When you stop fearing every goodbye, you become
- 44:51Speaker 1: more discerning about who you allow into your life. You
- 44:54Speaker 1: begin realizing that being alone for a season is better
- 44:57Speaker 1: than being surrounded by people constantly pull you away from
- 45:00Speaker 1: who you are becoming. A crowded room can still be lonely.
- 45:04Speaker 1: You can be surrounded by people and still feel unseen.
- 45:08Speaker 1: You can have hundreds of contacts and still have nobody
- 45:10Speaker 1: you trust deeply. So don't measure the quality of your
- 45:13Speaker 1: life by the size of your circle. Measure it by
- 45:16Speaker 1: the quality of your relationships, the strength of your character,
- 45:20Speaker 1: and the direction of your life. A smaller circle can
- 45:23Speaker 1: sometimes produce greater clarity. When you don't have to keep
- 45:26Speaker 1: up with everybody, you have more time to build yourself.
- 45:29Speaker 1: When you aren't constantly explaining your choices, you have more
- 45:32Speaker 1: energy to make them. When you aren't constantly trying to
- 45:36Speaker 1: fit in, you have more freedom to discover who you are.
- 45:39Speaker 1: And there is something powerful about not needing to fit
- 45:42Speaker 1: every room. You were never meant to belong everywhere. Some
- 45:46Speaker 1: environments will not understand you. Some conversations will no longer
- 45:49Speaker 1: interest you. Some friendships will naturally become less close. Some
- 45:54Speaker 1: places that once felt comfortable will begin feeling uncomfortable. Don't panic.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Sometimes discomfort is a signal that you are growing. A
- 46:01Speaker 1: child outgrows clothes. A student outgrows a classroom. A person
- 46:05Speaker 1: can outgrow an environment. That does not make the old
- 46:08Speaker 1: environment evil. It simply means you are changing. You cannot
- 46:11Speaker 1: force yourself back into a version of your life simply
- 46:14Speaker 1: because it is familiar. Familiarity is not always destiny. Sometimes
- 46:19Speaker 1: what feels comfortable is simply what you are used to.
- 46:22Speaker 1: And growth often requires you to become comfortable with being uncomfortable.
- 46:25Speaker 1: There will be moments when you feel like nobody understands
- 46:28Speaker 1: what you are trying to become. Keep becoming. There will
- 46:32Speaker 1: be moments when nobody seems to notice your effort. Keep working.
- 46:36Speaker 1: There will be moments when the results are invisible. Keep building.
- 46:40Speaker 1: There will be moments when the silence makes you question
- 46:42Speaker 1: whether anything is happening. Keep preparing. Because not everything important
- 46:47Speaker 1: happens publicly. Roots grow underground before the tree becomes visible
- 46:51Speaker 1: above the ground. Preparation happens before performance. Learning happens before mastery.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Character develops before influence. And sometimes the most important work
- 47:00Speaker 1: happening in your life is work nobody else can see.
- 47:03Speaker 1: You may be in a season where people don't understand
- 47:06Speaker 1: your decisions. That's okay. You don't need everybody's permission to grow.
- 47:10Speaker 1: You need wisdom. You need discipline. You need patience. You
- 47:14Speaker 1: need consistency. And you need to understand that your current
- 47:17Speaker 1: loneliness does not automatically predict your future. Just because your
- 47:21Speaker 1: circle is small today does not mean your life will
- 47:23Speaker 1: always be this way. Just because a friendship ended does
- 47:27Speaker 1: not mean you will never form meaningful friendships again. Just
- 47:31Speaker 1: because one chapter became quiet does not mean the whole
- 47:33Speaker 1: book is silent. Life changes, people change, circumstances change, and
- 47:38Speaker 1: you are changing too. So don't make permanent conclusions from
- 47:41Speaker 1: temporary seasons. Don't say, nobody cares about me simply because
- 47:45Speaker 1: a few people disappointed you. Don't say, I will always
- 47:49Speaker 1: be alone simply because you're experiencing solitude right now. Don't say,
- 47:54Speaker 1: nothing good is coming simply because something you wanted did
- 47:57Speaker 1: not happen. Your current season is not the complete picture.
- 48:01Speaker 1: You are still developing. You are still learning. You are
- 48:04Speaker 1: still becoming. And sometimes you need to stop demanding immediate
- 48:07Speaker 1: answers from a season that is still unfolding. Let it unfold.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Use the quiam. Use the space instead of constantly asking,
- 48:15Speaker 1: who is leaving me? Ask, who am I becoming while
- 48:17Speaker 1: they are gone? Instead of asking, why doesn't anybody notice me? Ask,
- 48:22Speaker 1: what can I build while nobody is watching? Instead of asking,
- 48:26Speaker 1: why did this relationship end? Ask, what did this relationship
- 48:30Speaker 1: teach me? Instead of asking, why am I alone? Ask,
- 48:34Speaker 1: what can I learn about myself in this season? Those
- 48:37Speaker 1: questions shift your focus from loss to growth. And when
- 48:40Speaker 1: your focus changes, your behavior changes. You stop waiting. You
- 48:43Speaker 1: start preparing. You stop chasing. You start building. You stop
- 48:48Speaker 1: begging for attention. You start investing in your development. You
- 48:51Speaker 1: stop trying to recreate the past. You start preparing for
- 48:54Speaker 1: the future. That is what solitude can do. It can
- 48:57Speaker 1: turn your attention inward long enough for you to strengthen
- 48:59Speaker 1: the person who will eventually walk into your next chapter.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Because the next chapter will require a different version of you,
- 49:06Speaker 1: a wiser version. a more disciplined version, a more grounded version,
- 49:11Speaker 1: a version that understands that not every person deserves access,
- 49:15Speaker 1: a version that can stand alone without falling apart, a
- 49:18Speaker 1: version that can appreciate companionship without becoming dependent on approval.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Aversion that can receive love without losing identity. Aversion that
- 49:26Speaker 1: can experience rejection without abandoning self-respect. And perhaps that is
- 49:30Speaker 1: why this quiet season matters. It is teaching you how
- 49:33Speaker 1: to stand before you are asked to carry more. It
- 49:36Speaker 1: is teaching you how to listen before you are asked
- 49:38Speaker 1: to speak. It is teaching you how to build before
- 49:41Speaker 1: you are asked to lead. It is teaching you how
- 49:44Speaker 1: to trust yourself before you ask others to trust you.
- 49:47Speaker 1: The silence is not necessarily saying that nothing is happening.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Sometimes the silence is where everything is happening. There comes
- 49:54Speaker 1: a moment when you have to stop looking outside of
- 49:57Speaker 1: yourself for the permission to become who you were meant
- 49:59Speaker 1: to be. You have to stop asking everybody else, is
- 50:03Speaker 1: this okay? You have to stop needing everybody to understand
- 50:06Speaker 1: your choices. You have to stop measuring your progress by
- 50:10Speaker 1: somebody else's applause. Because if you spend your entire life
- 50:13Speaker 1: waiting for people to approve of you, you will spend
- 50:16Speaker 1: your entire life adjusting yourself to fit somebody else's expectations.
- 50:20Speaker 1: And that is not freedom. Freedom is knowing who you
- 50:23Speaker 1: are when nobody is clapping. Freedom is standing on your
- 50:26Speaker 1: values when nobody agrees. Freedom is being able to walk
- 50:29Speaker 1: into a room without changing your identity simply because the
- 50:33Speaker 1: people around you are different. You need to know yourself,
- 50:36Speaker 1: not the version of yourself that people expect, not the
- 50:40Speaker 1: version that gets the most attention, not the version that
- 50:43Speaker 1: makes everybody comfortable.
