- 0:00Hey guys, what's up about three autism and girl symptoms, but I
- 0:03think you'll find very interesting and I go my friend
- 0:06Anna Tapas up. Let's do it.
- 0:08Hey guys, I'm done. I have Aspergers Syndrome ADHD
- 0:11OCD and dyslexia. Okay guys today.
- 0:13I'm joined by Anna movement from other women's YouTube channel,
- 0:16which is super awesome surf videos on like autism and stuff.
- 0:19And yeah, and it will explain about your tongue a little bit.
- 0:21Hi. Everyone is an inhuman and I
- 0:24have my own YouTube channel touching on my personal
- 0:27experience of living with Asperger syndrome.
- 0:30And add cool. Okay.
- 0:32So, you know that we're going to every single video.
- 0:33I like to read out questions from you guys from my Instagram
- 0:36account. Now, if you want to be featured
- 0:38in a video just like this they always like Instagram account.
- 0:40Give me a follow and you'll be notified every time I ask you to
- 0:43ask me questions and you could be featured in the video just
- 0:45like this. So I'm going to go through and
- 0:47read the questions out. So the first question is from HL
- 0:51partner and they said how do I help in how do I get help in
- 0:55school without being weird? And I would you say this.
- 0:58How would you answer this one? Don't feel weird for asking for
- 1:01help. Yeah, you know, we all need help
- 1:04in some degree and I just have a private conversation with a
- 1:09teacher that you trust that you get along with and just explain
- 1:12your situation and explaining needs and I'm sure they'll be
- 1:15happy to help definitely. I think the school has a duty of
- 1:17care to make sure you're looked after so anybody talks of an
- 1:20authority in the school should be able to help you.
- 1:23But yeah, don't feel weird man to feel empowered.
- 1:25Okay. So the next question is from
- 1:26Josh and the score Brooke Brooke still it.
- 1:30Soon extremely with an X instead of the a for Brooklyn.
- 1:34There you go. You can see it on screen.
- 1:36Okay, so they said are you ever going to do a meet-and-greet and
- 1:40Lead now? I live no one near Leeds.
- 1:42But if I get the chance to do a talk or a convention anything in
- 1:46Leeds, I will definitely do a meet-and-greet like I do with
- 1:48any single place I go to and yeah, just I will do it.
- 1:52Just keep up to date with all my socials when you'll know if I'm
- 1:55ever in that area Okay. So the last question is from Jen
- 1:58intuitive. Like I saw.
- 2:00What I'm saying it now and they said hey fellow absolutely here
- 2:04and then it's mine. If it would you ever come to
- 2:06Amsterdam? Well, actually I was in
- 2:08Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago actually had a layover and I'm
- 2:11sorry, it's Amsterdam then I went from us not to Boston,
- 2:14Massachusetts. So I've been to Amsterdam Brown.
- 2:16I've been out in the actual like country like wherever is this
- 2:21the cool cities in Amsterdam, whatever.
- 2:22I've never actually been outside of the airport.
- 2:24I'd love to go. Have you ever meet up sometime?
- 2:26Oh, yeah. Yeah good.
- 2:27There's lots of nice buildings that yeah, and there's lots of
- 2:30Drinking and Drugs in themselves about everything but I would
- 2:34love to go but I think I just have to avoid all the craziness.
- 2:37I think it's doable. I think it's doable.
- 2:39Yeah, it's tough to look at a map and know where I'm gonna go.
- 2:41But if anyone with that and he said it was an interesting
- 2:43experience OK guys. So that was all the Instagram
- 2:46questions we have for today. So like I said in this video
- 2:48we're going to be talking about three specific symptoms for
- 2:51autism in girls because I have the pleasure of having out of
- 2:54here to have as highlight from her perspective and some hurt
- 2:57our knowledge base, you know these Specific characteristics
- 3:01and symptoms traits whatever you want to call them.
- 3:03So to give to you guys today. So we're going to go through
- 3:05three of the interesting ones. So I'm going to add a takeover.
- 3:08What and I'll introduce each one.
- 3:09So the first one we'll talk about is that big old special
- 3:12interest so part of it what special address from your
- 3:15perspective? Well, I mean everybody with
- 3:17Asperger's I've got a special interest While most people
- 3:21anyway and but I think in women and girls are there manifest
- 3:25themselves in a way that it's more socially acceptable or
- 3:30Normal, and so, you know some of mine in my early years were
- 3:35Polly Pocket, but I had an obsession with Polly Pocket.
- 3:39I wouldn't go to school without taking a Polly Pocket with me
- 3:42and it got pretty yeah enter Syria and they later on it was
- 3:47Pokemon and you know, everybody else just thought you know, it's
- 3:50a normal thing, you know, it's trendy that's what all the kids
- 3:53are into but I could memorize the whole Pokedex
- 3:59chronologically. Lee and get people to test me on
- 4:02it and I did the exact same thing.
- 4:05Well the Pokedex like the digit on to test I give you can test
- 4:09me on the Pokedex school. I just love and ya later on it
- 4:13was a Collins gem little book of kings and queens and I could
- 4:18memorize all the monarchs from buddhic.
- 4:22Oh, that's how you pronounce it. So I forgotten all that now by
- 4:26the way, and but yeah, my daily special interests were kind of
- 4:31normal ones, but they kind of took it to the next level if you
- 4:34know what I mean comes like intense, doesn't it?
- 4:36Yeah, sometimes his how did your parents deal with those special
- 4:40interests? They just rolled with it really
- 4:42and but just encouraged me to do other things instead of sitting
- 4:47for hours and hours memorizing the Pokedex.
- 4:49Oh, so yeah, but that I didn't really want to do anything else,
- 4:54you know, once you're in the zone and you've got that special
- 4:57interest, that's it. Well because it was more of a
- 4:59normal interest people didn't really say anything.
- 5:03So here's a question. How do you know?
- 5:04That's something to special interests on door.
- 5:06Just something that people just like generally I would you know,
- 5:09it's a trait for autism because it takes half of your life.
- 5:15You stay up til 3 o'clock in the morning until you can memorize a
- 5:18river. Yeah, because it's almost like
- 5:21that thing that you always want to talk about money.
- 5:23Only thing you want to look at. Yeah, exactly.
- 5:25And when you're little like you just want to talk about it and
- 5:28then everyone's like this is boring.
- 5:30Yeah, we did that with the same thing comes the next thing
- 5:35Williams off, but I think it's a super interesting.
- 5:36It's a very topical topic right now and it's hot right now is
- 5:41masking masking is Try so I wanted to look at obviously
- 5:45briefly cover this and I'll do a video on a feature of all about
- 5:47masking and kind of in-depth but right now what's up, whereas on
- 5:50a kind of like a characteristic base?
- 5:52How would you describe from your point of view and some
- 5:54experiences that you've had with it?
- 5:55So people could potentially relate to masking.
- 5:59It's well, it's a symptom and A coping mechanism because you
- 6:03know when you're not sure how to behave or how to speak to people
- 6:08and you just feel like an alien, you know when you see people
- 6:12Communicate with each other on TV and you know, we just kind of
- 6:16pick up from there and and yeah just learn off what people say
- 6:22in on TV and like probably all know, you know, you know fans it
- 6:25gets a bit embarrassing because it's not really appropriate or
- 6:28something. Like I said a lot of things when
- 6:31I was younger that looking back now, we're just completely
- 6:35embarrassing and irrelevant. But yes, I saw it on TV.
- 6:37I just thought that's what people said, you know, so in
- 6:42terms of like Like you said, it's like it's coping as well as
- 6:45kind of like I'm asking for. So how would you say it copes?
- 6:47Like what will be the coping part of it would be how would
- 6:50you explain that to cover your autism?
- 6:54Even though that sounds really bad because like in some ways in
- 6:57some contexts you kind of feel like you have to be more
- 7:02outgoing and more neurotypical and it just makes life easier,
- 7:07even though it shouldn't really be that way because there's
- 7:10nothing wrong with being autistic.
- 7:12It's fine. Yeah, but you're trying to fit
- 7:13into society is built around neurotypical people.
- 7:16It's really difficult. And I think like yeah just to
- 7:20add into this. I think the adverse effect of
- 7:22actually using masking It's A coping mechanism is that you
- 7:25will have a burner eventually from it because only so much you
- 7:27can actually put in before it gets exhausting yet.
- 7:29Incredibly exhausting. Yeah, definitely and I can
- 7:31definitely sympathize then, you know, I think I guess like males
- 7:35do mask as well, but I don't think it's as much as females
- 7:37because I feel like there's this trade within being a female that
- 7:41they want to always be like Quite independent and to manage
- 7:46their you know, who they are and what they're doing and I think
- 7:48Nails as well. Yeah be like every everybody
- 7:51else kind of attitude fascinating though.
- 7:54I think like this resonates as well.
- 7:55And I think anybody watching this who like, you know,
- 7:57potentially on the Spectrum will go through that kind of haul
- 8:00process. If you relate to anything I'm
- 8:02saying let us know in the comment section below.
- 8:03Let us know how you feel about anything you can add to this
- 8:05expand on the story because I'd love to have a discussion about
- 8:08therefore we coming back and obviously she will be coming
- 8:10back to check the comments and coming in as well.
- 8:13The last one that we'll go through the last kind of symptom
- 8:15E-Trade characteristic where everyone call it and we're going
- 8:18to talk about social anxiety. And this is a big one and it
- 8:20affects people differently and I'll let you explain like social
- 8:24anxiety and I'll jump in right at the end - anxiety is
- 8:27definitely Larry I'd say it's the biggest one and you know,
- 8:32sometimes females are misdiagnosed with just social
- 8:36anxiety their artistic. Yes, you know, there's some hide
- 8:39it very well. There's always that time.
- 8:42I say and because as people with Autism we find it very difficult
- 8:48to communicate. You know, we're always wondering
- 8:51if what we're saying is right, you know, if we're walking right
- 8:54and stuff like that. There's just so much anxiety and
- 8:57everything. So yeah, that's that's a big
- 9:01one. How did you say that it
- 9:02manifests you on a daily basis? How would you give an example of
- 9:06social anxiety on a daily basis? Like what's one of the biggest
- 9:08things I one of the things that you most notice from social
- 9:11anxiety affecting you do. Lee it just happens all the
- 9:15time. I mean, you know when I go to
- 9:17the gym sometimes I take like one to two hours getting ready
- 9:20for the gym because I don't want to go outside but I want to go
- 9:25to the gym but there's people there and there's bright lights
- 9:28and there's noise and you know in supermarkets again Bright
- 9:33Lights noise beeping Sirens, whoop some whistles.
- 9:39Thought we were late. It's crazy.
- 9:41It is horrible. Does it so much?
- 9:42Sensory stuff happening and just the general.
- 9:48I just know like there's definitely the unpredictability
- 9:52of Life. Yeah, it's crazy, isn't it?
- 9:54Cause I love having the applicability or even having a
- 9:56schedule to follow but when you're outside like in stores
- 9:59and stuff, I mean Jim's it's like Christmas what I don't want
- 10:01to do actually work out in the house.
- 10:03I try and do everything here because like nobody goes to the
- 10:05gym and and she's able to I could not go to the gym.
- 10:09So what she does is just have like any social anxiety, but she
- 10:11takes like a sieve Edie going through it obviously Link in
- 10:14description if you're interested in those you get some money off
- 10:16as well, but I think you know I can totally relate to that but I
- 10:20think it's from my experience that girls have a quite more
- 10:22intensified because again, it's I feel like it's something that
- 10:26that is always a parent in females and also the but with
- 10:29guys are kind of spikes and literally has dips and swags.
- 10:31And so I think that's what kind of contrast it's super super
- 10:34interesting. But if you think that this could
- 10:36help us somebody that you know, please share it on their social
- 10:39profiles because this is the idea that what we're doing is
- 10:41we're just trying to help reach out to Change someone's life for
- 10:43the better movie. So if you think it would help
- 10:45again, please share this video. Okay, guys, I just like to thank
- 10:48Allah for come on the channel and talking to us today about
- 10:51these awesome characters and traits from her point of view.
- 10:55I find it very very interesting. There's always good to have
- 10:57guests on the as we also thank you so much for taking the time
- 11:00to come down here and the 4-Hour drive that she took to get here
- 11:03which is crazy and like I don't like I'm not jelly at all
- 11:07because like that's what does a crazy driver.
- 11:09I don't want to have enough. So, thank you Anna and we will
- 11:12see. You next time guys.
- 11:14Yeah.
