Transcript
- 0:00Get laced up. Let's go. It's time for Banter
- 0:04with the Boys. Welcome back to Banter with the
- 0:14Boys. Gridiron updates for our week five preview
- 0:19and picks for the Vikings. We'll go 5 -0 this
- 0:21week. We have Jake here with us. That was a good
- 0:27point. Yeah. We have Jake here with us. He is
- 0:30our local in -house Ravens fan. Yeah, that's
- 0:35right. That's it. That's right. That's right.
- 0:37Flock, yeah. Flock, yeah. Roberto, our other
- 0:43co -host here, the fellow Viking fan. It sucks
- 0:47he didn't do it because it's his thing, so I
- 0:49was doing it with him, and he didn't do it. He
- 0:51left you out to dry. That was on purpose. I'm
- 0:53busy over here sitting on top of the little stage
- 0:57up here. Number one, it's the tour de NFL, NFC.
- 1:03Top wearing the yellow jersey. You know what?
- 1:06I like the bicycle reference. I appreciate that.
- 1:08That was nice. Yes, I love that. It's in the
- 1:11one seat right now. Feels good. Right on. Guess
- 1:14who we're going to start with? Oh, Kev is behind.
- 1:17There he is. Hey, Kev. Oh, yeah, and I'm smelty.
- 1:20I don't know if I said that. What are we going
- 1:21to talk about? I might have missed that. What
- 1:22are we going to say? The old preview and picks.
- 1:24I definitely said that one. Okay. For week five.
- 1:28Week five. The Vikes. Travel to the New Orleans
- 1:32Saints. Again, another place we know, as we like
- 1:36to say, as I like to say, I guess, not we. Tough
- 1:39place to play. Just took one on the chin last
- 1:42weekend, if you're the Saints, unfortunately.
- 1:45Hard. Yeah, steamrolled. And unfortunately, I
- 1:50don't think they're going to get steamrolled
- 1:51this week, but I do anticipate the Vikings going
- 1:55to 5 -0 because... It's truly, for me, excuse
- 2:02me. First off, I think Tyler Shuck might throw
- 2:05all over the Viking secondary. The Viking secondary
- 2:08is super sus to me. Harrison Smith, I love you.
- 2:10One of the lowest ranked safeties in the league
- 2:13right now. And don't get me wrong, no camp, no
- 2:15nothing. Just getting his legs back going. I
- 2:18fully anticipate him at least continuing to contribute
- 2:22to our squad at a higher level than he is now.
- 2:26Is Shuck going over 250? Yes. And that's a concern
- 2:31for the Vikings. Is it, though? I think for the
- 2:36Vikings offense, yes, 100%. If Shuck goes over
- 2:39250, I think that's concerning for the Vikings
- 2:41offense to stay in the game, which we still haven't
- 2:44seen a whole lot from yet. But, again, you watched
- 2:47all 22. You said Kyler Murray, huge improvement.
- 2:50KFC has came out and said huge improvement, trending
- 2:52in the right direction. Those are my two trusted
- 2:56guys right there. So, I mean, obviously, I got
- 2:58to go with that. So, but no, I think, where was
- 3:02I going with this? I think that the Vikings defense
- 3:04is going to absolutely shut down the little bit
- 3:08of run game the Saints even have. So, that's
- 3:10going to be the difference, I think, for me.
- 3:12It's going to be Shuck's passing game versus
- 3:14the Vikings secondary. Like, who gets the best
- 3:17there? You know, I think if Shuck goes over,
- 3:20like, 350 or something, the Vikings lose the
- 3:22game. But I'm hoping. That 250, I think that's
- 3:26100%. You think that's easy? I think he gets
- 3:29the 250, but the Vikings win. Vikings win. And
- 3:32stay perfect. But I think it's going to be closer
- 3:34than people want it to be for Vikings fans. I
- 3:36think this is another seven, maybe seven -point
- 3:38game or less. I mean, it's going to be tight.
- 3:40It's going to be tight. Well, Vegas has them
- 3:42at one and a half. So Vikings, it's tight. But,
- 3:46I mean, in New Orleans. Yeah, Saints fans got
- 3:52to be really disappointed about their teams.
- 3:55prime time game this last week so i think the
- 3:58saints are gonna come very aggressive in this
- 4:01game so the vikings need to weather the storm
- 4:04and i'd like to see them just you know get a
- 4:08running game against obviously the saints defenses
- 4:10they're difficult so we're jones had a nice game
- 4:15we still need to get uh Claiborne going, we just
- 4:18need a little more help. I want to continue to
- 4:20see Murray. I mean, if we can get JJ back, but
- 4:23it doesn't look like he's coming back. So, I
- 4:26mean, that's another Addison. So, I mean, the
- 4:29secondary of the Saints, they have a couple players
- 4:32back there. So, I think it's definitely going
- 4:37to be a tight game. I still think the Vikings
- 4:39defense will confuse the second year, second
- 4:43rounder. Tyler Schock enough where he makes a
- 4:46mistake or two to keep the Vikings definitely
- 4:51in this game. And I think they're going to squeeze
- 4:52it out. But it's going to be down to the last
- 4:54minute style game, I have a feeling. So get ready
- 4:57to grow out your fingernails because there's
- 4:59going to be some biting on them and sit at the
- 5:01edge of your seat. Great. Nice. That's how I
- 5:03spend every Sunday. Is it? Yeah. Oh, okay. What
- 5:08do you think there? I think a lot of things.
- 5:14What we do know is that the Vikings lead the
- 5:17league in sacks. They do. With 16. They currently
- 5:22lead the league in turnover differential, plus
- 5:25five. Whereas the Saints are minus five in turnover
- 5:29differential. No good. To your point, Justin
- 5:32Jefferson's probably questionable if he does
- 5:35actually play. How much of an impact is he really
- 5:39going to be? Is he just going to end up being
- 5:41that decoy for Addison? I'm fine with that. And
- 5:45then, I mean, if that is in fact the case, I
- 5:48think New Orleans will figure that out real quick.
- 5:52You mean him not running Rousdownfield? Yeah.
- 5:55How many plays does that take? Yeah, just a couple.
- 5:59A couple jogs. But I still do worry about that
- 6:02Vikings offense. They're second to last in total
- 6:04yards. They don't move the ball well at all.
- 6:07Not yet. But like Brian Flores, probably the
- 6:13second best defensive coordinator in the NFL
- 6:15right now behind Steve Spagnuolo. That was quick,
- 6:22too. He was ready for that. So what I see happening,
- 6:26because... As you've alluded to, New Orleans
- 6:28can't run the ball really well or effectively.
- 6:30I don't think that improves at all against the
- 6:34Vikings. And I think it's going to be, it's going
- 6:39to come down to Brian Flores and that front seven
- 6:43and his blitz schemes. And how can he mask them
- 6:47versus Tyler Shuck's ability to decipher that?
- 6:50So my money is on Brian Flores. I'm picking Vikings
- 6:54here. Yeah, boy. I do think it's going to be
- 6:56close. But I think it's Brian Flores is going
- 7:03to be or the Saints are going to be in a position
- 7:07where they're just going to have to throw the
- 7:08ball. advantage brian flores there it's like
- 7:11hey we're gonna we're gonna send we're gonna
- 7:14send four we're gonna send five we're gonna send
- 7:15six we don't we're not telling you which ones
- 7:18are coming ever and you have to figure it out
- 7:20so a hundred percent advantage brian flores there
- 7:23and i don't think um um kellen moore and shuck
- 7:28will be able to work through that over the course
- 7:31of the entire game But it'll be close. I think
- 7:33it's going to be a really good game. Hey, I love
- 7:35it out of there. We're out of Flock Nation here.
- 7:37Winning stage five on the tour day NFL. We're
- 7:41still on top. All right, let's hear it there,
- 7:45Coach. Already did. Oh, did you? I opened. Yeah,
- 7:48he picked Saints. I did not. With this, let's
- 7:53move into our second game here. The old Ravens.
- 7:57The other purple team. Traveling to the Atlanta
- 7:59Falcons. Primetime football. Primetime football.
- 8:04Roberto, why don't we start with you? Well, definitely.
- 8:08I mean, this is all coming down to stopping Bijan
- 8:11and the both Robinsons actually at this point.
- 8:14Lamar, big question whether he plays. Ravens
- 8:18obviously are a completely different team. We
- 8:20record this on a Tuesday, so we don't know exactly
- 8:23how it plays out. This will be the interesting,
- 8:27because Pennix really, I think, playing his first
- 8:30two games against the Green Bay Packers. I mean,
- 8:33they got up big quickly. And then this last game
- 8:37against New Orleans, he had to throw what he
- 8:39threw like 12, 15 times. 20. He's 15 for 20.
- 8:44And so, like, if he can keep his numbers down
- 8:46to that, definitely the Falcons have an opportunity.
- 8:50So it's whether the Ravens and Smith, they have
- 8:53the linebacker that is very effective. We'll
- 8:56see whether he still has, maybe he still has
- 8:59the speed to keep up with the Robinson. Oh, it's
- 9:03going to be a really fun game, but I think Tyler
- 9:05Lupa is going to redeem himself from missing
- 9:08that field goal for me on my fantasy team, but
- 9:11I still got the dub, and I'm going to take the
- 9:12Ravens. I think this is going to be a weird one,
- 9:16though. I think it's going to be lower scoring
- 9:18than Vegas has it for Sassata. Three and a half
- 9:23is the spread for Baltimore, so I'm taking them
- 9:26under the three and a half. Right on, under the
- 9:30three and a half. Okay, right on. Yeah, this
- 9:34is the toughie here. Obviously, Falcons had a
- 9:37great game last week, but the Saints are not
- 9:39the Ravens. True. You're playing at home in Atlanta,
- 9:44which is a plus for you. But, I mean, again,
- 9:48it does kind of all come down to whether or not
- 9:50Lamar Jackson can play. If he can't, I'm going
- 9:52to assume – I am going to assume, if I can learn
- 9:56how to speak, that he will not be playing and
- 9:59that Tyler Huntley will be getting all first
- 10:01-team reps all week. He's going to be set to
- 10:03go. Not comparing Huntley to Jameis Winston here,
- 10:06but Jameis looked better when he had that full
- 10:10week with the ones, and I anticipate Tyler Huntley
- 10:14will as well. But if Huntley's in the game...
- 10:20I'm concerned they're not going to open up the
- 10:22playbook for them. I'm concerned they're going
- 10:24to just try to pound the rock, pound the rock,
- 10:26pound the rock with Derrick Henry. I'd like to
- 10:27see some screen game maybe, but pound the rock,
- 10:29pound the rock against the number one rush defense
- 10:32in the NFL right now. I think that is not the
- 10:35answer this week. I think the Atlanta Falcons,
- 10:39two -headed monster in their own backfield right
- 10:42now, is going to be too much to handle for that
- 10:44Ravens defense, and the Falcons are going to
- 10:46win a close one at home. Falcons get fired up.
- 10:49Wow, that's crazy. Since 2002, the Falcons, I
- 10:53hopefully have seen in your notes, have not beaten
- 10:56the Ravens at home. No time like the present.
- 10:58It is. Since Michael Vick. Thought process. Right
- 11:02on. All right, here we go. The purple. Give it
- 11:06to us. Let me see. I don't have a lot of notes.
- 11:09A lot of it, though, is just basically injury
- 11:11concerns. You're just trying to figure out where
- 11:13you're going to sit for the Super Bowl parade,
- 11:15right? Well, of course. Yeah, Lamar questionable.
- 11:20We're going to assume Lamar's not going to play.
- 11:23Take the extra week. I mean, even if it means
- 11:26you run the risk of taking an L for the team,
- 11:29you've got to think about the long -term goal.
- 11:34The O -line continues to be banged up. Losing
- 11:37Voorhees, another starting offensive lineman.
- 11:40Marlon Humphreys, secondary depth, or at least
- 11:44has been playing nickel primarily. It's really
- 11:47important. Generally speaking, Durham's Smythe
- 11:52primary blocker or blocking tight end for that
- 11:56run game, that run attack. So all of these injuries,
- 11:59they compound, they add up. It's an opportunity,
- 12:02though, for Zay Flowers to show that he can.
- 12:06make a quarterback better and that's one of those
- 12:09things that you're looking for in your wide receivers
- 12:10a lot of times is like are they going to be able
- 12:13to put up numbers regardless of who's throwing
- 12:15them the football like deandre hopkins was really
- 12:17good at it agreed um i'm sure there's other ways
- 12:21for sure yeah but you so it's an opportunity
- 12:25for zay flowers to prove i can run routes i can
- 12:28get open any quarterback can throw it to me and
- 12:29i can still be a dynamic playmaker for this team
- 12:32um we're also looking at it because it's because
- 12:37it's Snoop Huntley. Snoop Huntley, love it. Snoop,
- 12:40that's his nickname. Snoop, Snoopaloop. Where
- 12:46we do still want to continue to run the ball.
- 12:48That's the identity, run the ball and try and
- 12:51then open up big plays down the field to like
- 12:54Zay, Rashad Bateman, Mark Andrews, whatever that
- 12:58is, or whoever that may end up being. But I do
- 13:02still have concerns about that. That Falcons
- 13:06rushing attack, the two -headed monster of the
- 13:09Robinsons. The big Rob. Yeah, and keeping up
- 13:12with the Robinsons is going to be very difficult.
- 13:16We've been seeing over the past couple of weeks
- 13:19that Ravens have been missing tackles. You mentioned
- 13:23that. Giving up a whole bunch of yards, a lot
- 13:29of penalties. I'm worried and nervous that the
- 13:34Ravens aren't going to be able to stop this rushing
- 13:36attack. I'm going to be 100 % honest with you.
- 13:38Yes, I'm picking Falcons. Oh, I couldn't take
- 13:42this. That's so weird. That's what we were waiting
- 13:44for. Dirty birds, you've converted him. Just
- 13:47for one game. Just for one game. It didn't go
- 13:50well for me when I picked against the Vikings.
- 13:51I would rather pick against the Ravens and have
- 13:54them beat the Falcons than... Fair. Of course,
- 13:57naturally. But you take the pod serious. But
- 13:59you're being honest with the cards you're dealt.
- 14:02You're starting quarterbacks out. If Lamar's
- 14:05in the game, does that change it for you? 100%.
- 14:06So then it's a W if he's in. Yes. All right.
- 14:11You don't got to send him hate mail. I have to
- 14:14officially go Falcons. Thinking he's not playing.
- 14:18That's right. Right on. Let's see. Third game.
- 14:23Already. Third game. One, two, three. Pretty
- 14:25good. One of our other undefeateds looking to
- 14:30stay undefeated, but they're traveling to a very
- 14:34tough location. They're playing the Seattle Seahawks,
- 14:37who are also three and one. The 12. That's right.
- 14:41Jake, you haven't gone first yet. All right.
- 14:43This one's for you. Sweet. This could be a great
- 14:46game. Yes, I agree. I think we picked it. Right.
- 14:50Well, the next game might not be a great game
- 14:52that we're going to cover. It might be great
- 14:53for its own reasons. Yeah. Anyway, no. Yes, this
- 14:58game is going to be amazing. The NFC West in
- 15:00and of itself in terms of its competitiveness
- 15:03between three great teams. I just love this.
- 15:09You don't like the Cardinals? No, I don't like
- 15:11the Cardinals. Not right now. Fair. Brock Purdy
- 15:18isn't being talked about. for MVP consideration.
- 15:23He's thrown 11 touchdowns, one pick. He's been
- 15:26playing super clean, super smart football. He
- 15:29gets the ball around. There's not one receiver
- 15:34that's like taking all of the targets or all
- 15:37of the receptions. So he's just like, whoever's
- 15:40open, that's where the ball's going. there's
- 15:45just so much talent there on that offense with
- 15:47Kittle. Kittle had an amazing game against the
- 15:49Broncos this past week. Boy can still run. Yeah.
- 15:53Debo still aggressive. You've got Christian McCaffrey
- 15:56and Mike Evans, like between them, you've got
- 15:5916, 17, 14, and 16. So it's just like, he's just
- 16:02going to like give the ball to somebody. He doesn't
- 16:04care who it is. He's not going to not try and
- 16:07force feed anyone. I do worry about, and we didn't
- 16:11bring this up. Kyle Juszczyk, their fullback,
- 16:14one of the few teams that actually rosters an
- 16:17official fullback, is out. Suspended. Knee. Knee.
- 16:23Suspended for swearing at refs. No. No. For simulating.
- 16:27Oh. That was fine. That was fine. The juice.
- 16:32The juice. A little gin and juice there. So I'm
- 16:36interested to see how the absence of Juszczyk
- 16:40is going to impact the. excuse me, the run game
- 16:43and kind of like their, their past game, or at
- 16:46least their running backs out of the backfield.
- 16:49Cause use check is predominantly used in those
- 16:52instances is one of those, like, Oh, he's going
- 16:54to just go out and we're going to dump it off
- 16:56to him and he's going to get some yards. But
- 16:59yes, they're at home in Seattle or the Seahawks
- 17:03were at home there. And the 12. Yeah. The 12.
- 17:07They do reside there. Yes. That defense is. Still
- 17:10really solid. They have the most interceptions
- 17:14this season. I think they'll probably scheme
- 17:18well enough against Purdy that they end up sneaking
- 17:21one in. I don't know that the Seattle offense
- 17:28is there 100%. Mostly it's in that running game.
- 17:34That's really questionable at best. If Wilson
- 17:36can get going again like he did at the end of
- 17:38the game last week. I think that they stand a
- 17:42really good chance. So I'm picking Seattle because
- 17:45they're at home. I guess in a really tough matchup,
- 17:48it's probably come down to, I think it's going
- 17:52to be less than three. Less than three. Vegas
- 17:56says we're at three and a half, four. The team
- 18:00that you picked, the Seattle Sea Chickens, as
- 18:02Coach once referred to every time. The Sea Chickens,
- 18:04yes. I haven't done that in a long time. Won't
- 18:07you give us the Sea Chickens versus the old?
- 18:09So wait, you took the Sea Chickens? Yeah, I'm
- 18:11taking the Sea Chickens. Right on. Gosh, I think
- 18:15that's actually a really good pick because it
- 18:20is going to come down to the defense. It's going
- 18:23to come down to Seattle's defense for me. whether
- 18:28or not they can get after Purdy enough to make
- 18:30him make those mistakes. I agree with you. I
- 18:33think they could sneak INT out of there. But
- 18:36what does make Purdy so great is he is able to
- 18:38spread it around so well. But no use check. That
- 18:42is huge. But everyone else seems to be healthy.
- 18:44And in general, the Niners seem fairly healthy
- 18:47across the board other than the ones that started
- 18:49the season on IR. They seem to be healthy other
- 18:53than Nick Bosa. He's also questionable, right?
- 18:55I think he's actually out now maybe, but this
- 18:59is a toughie right here. This is a burner. This
- 19:02is a toughie right here. I do think this is going
- 19:06to be close, just division battle. Man, as much
- 19:11as I want to go see chickens here, actually,
- 19:14because I don't feel like I don't want the Niners
- 19:19to stay undefeated. I don't. But with the way
- 19:22Kittle played last week, you're going to really
- 19:24need Kittle this week for sure. You're going
- 19:27to need some of that CMC magic this week to win.
- 19:30I mean, you're going to need a little magic in
- 19:32that environment. Oh, my God. I think it's just
- 19:38crappy because Seattle's pass defense is just
- 19:40outstanding. That's the tough part. doesn't have
- 19:45that one guy like you're saying. I mean, I think
- 19:47that's the key point for me. I got to go Niners,
- 19:50but by like three. I think it's going to be freaking
- 19:52close. Yeah, I mean, this is the classic NFC
- 19:56West. You know, between them and the Rams, we
- 20:00all kind of predicted they'd be battling it out.
- 20:03For sure. San Francisco, I guess, kind of surprised
- 20:06me. I kind of forgot. how good that defense was
- 20:10before all those injuries kind of decimated last
- 20:12year, especially when Warner went down. They
- 20:15definitely, and they still were a playoff team.
- 20:19So now you see the 49ers, but this is the classic
- 20:21game. I was just kind of looking through the
- 20:23last few years. The teams are pretty much the
- 20:25same. Not a lot of different personals, maybe
- 20:28on the receiver side of the 49ers, but that doesn't
- 20:31really come into my thing. They both split on
- 20:34opposite fields last year. I have a feeling that's
- 20:37how it's going to go out this year, too. So I'm
- 20:39going to take the 49ers. But I think it's going
- 20:43to be a game just like the 49ers played against
- 20:45the Broncos last week. Very low scoring. You
- 20:48know, we're looking 17 -13 style type of game.
- 20:52I just think San Francisco's defense is humming
- 20:54enough right now to give Seattle enough with
- 20:57that running game. A little questionable. Put
- 21:00a lot of pressure on to Sam to deliver. And it's
- 21:05going to be a good, fun game. But I'm going 49ers
- 21:08to edge this one out. 49ers to edge this one
- 21:10out. Right on, right on. Let's head to our final
- 21:13game here. The final. The old Broncos traveling
- 21:17to the L .A. Chargers. Broncos coming in 2 -2.
- 21:21Chargers coming in as one of those winless teams
- 21:23we've been talking about these last couple episodes.
- 21:27I guess I'll start on this one. You know, since
- 21:30I'm also a Chargers fan. We know who you're picking.
- 21:32Man, what a great trap game for the Broncos,
- 21:34too, huh? It is. Yeah. Tell us why. But I'm not
- 21:38picking the Chargers to win this game, unfortunately.
- 21:40I'm very, very concerned about their injuries
- 21:43on the offensive line to protect a guy who hasn't
- 21:48looked great this year. So now we're just not
- 21:49going to protect him. So that's not great. What
- 21:53I will say is at least the whole line when they
- 21:56were in there. You know, there was at least some
- 21:58sort of run game that was starting to spark up,
- 22:00a little bit at least for the Chargers, but the
- 22:04defense hasn't got necessarily any better as
- 22:07the season has gone on. They only have maybe
- 22:09an injury or two back there, and they're still
- 22:11not looking great. You know, on the other side,
- 22:16the Broncos have also not necessarily looked
- 22:18great, but they do have those two wins they have
- 22:20are pretty quality wins, to be honest. Yeah,
- 22:24they had the opening season dud, complete dud
- 22:27against the Chiefs. Then they got it kind of
- 22:29together, and I can't remember who they lost
- 22:30to last week. 49ers. Oh, duh. Right, right. So
- 22:35I got to go Broncos here. I think just unfortunately
- 22:41with the Chargers injuries and the way they've
- 22:42been playing, I think Chargers would be a really
- 22:45tough pick here. Now, when the Chiefs play the
- 22:47Chargers next week, talk to me next week. All
- 22:49right. Because clearly that must be the win.
- 22:53I don't know. Right now the Chargers are tracking
- 22:55to continue losing. It sucks. It sucks. But it's
- 22:59really interesting that Vegas has this game only
- 23:01at two and a half. Yeah. See, it's a trap game.
- 23:03So and Patrick's is tan out. Yeah. Yeah. Bo Nix
- 23:13and that offense has not been the same. Hasn't
- 23:17really been moving the balls. If I remember from
- 23:20an earlier episode, the Vikings. have scored
- 23:23more points than the Broncos. And Mike McDaniel's
- 23:28job, I feel like, is on the line this week. I
- 23:32guarantee he's probably studying right now on
- 23:36this Tuesday night. Division game. Yeah. Something
- 23:43weird's going to happen. Chargers get their first
- 23:45win. I really wanted to do that. I was like,
- 23:48on some goofiness, last second field goal. I
- 23:53hope so. Along the jakes of I picked the other,
- 23:56but I hope the other. But, yeah, I just got a
- 24:01weird vibe about this one. Broncos just have
- 24:04been playing wonderful, a ton of injuries, and
- 24:07it should be fun. It's that division game. That's
- 24:11when the weird stuff happened because they know
- 24:13each other so well, and the Broncos just aren't
- 24:17the same team quite as they were last year right
- 24:21now. So they're not going to. I mean, their defense
- 24:25still is humming a little bit, but that Patrick
- 24:27Sedan injury on the backside is huge because
- 24:29he eliminates half the field. And Quentin Johnson
- 24:33needs to step up. And I just have a feeling a
- 24:35weird game that this is the game that he finally
- 24:38showed up. And then everybody picks him up in
- 24:40fantasy football the following week. And then
- 24:43he doesn't do anything after. So there you go.
- 24:46That's my take for the day. Just randomness.
- 24:49And I think the Chargers are going to squeak
- 24:51one out at home. Both starting corners down is
- 24:55tough. Yes, that is tough. It's a tale of two
- 24:59struggling offenses. They're both just not good
- 25:02right now, right? But there's some positives
- 25:08in those struggles. When you look at the Chargers,
- 25:11like you alluded to, they were starting to figure
- 25:13out a run game. So, Maureen Hampton, Keaton Mitchell,
- 25:16they're averaging over four yards a carry. That's
- 25:19a big deal. Yeah, I'll take that. Yeah, Justin
- 25:23Herbert's just not, he's not grasping this Mike
- 25:29McDaniel offense at all. They have to look at
- 25:34simplifying that playbook and really going back
- 25:37to, like, we have to run the ball. Establish
- 25:41a run game. It's going to be painful to watch
- 25:43with a banged up old line. You hear that, Vikings
- 25:46fan? Painful to watch. Sorry. But you take the
- 25:51W. And, yeah, get some pressure off of Justin
- 25:56Herbert so that way he can start making some
- 25:59easier throws. But Davis Webb and Bo Nix, they're
- 26:05still figuring it out. It's taking time. It kind
- 26:09of sucks that it's taking this long. We're going
- 26:13into week five. How have the two not been able
- 26:16to, like, figure out how to operate together?
- 26:18Correct. And you hear rumblings that Sean Payton
- 26:22should or may be taking over play calling in
- 26:24the near future if things don't continue to get
- 26:27better offensively. I'm not worried necessarily
- 26:30about the Broncos' defense in that secondary
- 26:34based on what we've been seeing from Herbert.
- 26:39Turning the ball over, making poor decisions.
- 26:43But the Broncos have a more talented roster overall.
- 26:48especially on the offensive side. And that's
- 26:52where, like, Bo Nix is going to be able to still
- 26:54find a couple of players, make a couple of big
- 26:57plays down the field. Broncos are going to get
- 27:00a W. Broncos getting the dib. Getting the dib.
- 27:04Yep. Right on. Right on. Well, that's it, fellas.
- 27:08I do not have, you know, because let's just say
- 27:12I'm extremely busy all the freaking time. So,
- 27:14of course, I don't have the. The old picks updated
- 27:16for us. I think I went three and one. Ditto.
- 27:19I can't remember. You might have went four and
- 27:23all. No. He would have remembered that. Would
- 27:26I, though? I don't know if I would. But you went
- 27:30Vikes, Ravens, right? Who did the Ravens play?
- 27:34The Titans. Oh, yeah. And then he took Falcons
- 27:38over Saints. Yeah. Yeah. Congratulations. I don't
- 27:43know. I don't believe you guys. I'm going to
- 27:44have to go back and look now because I don't
- 27:47think that's true. I mean, if you don't want
- 27:49the four, then that's fine. Listen, no, I'll
- 27:51take it. I'll take it. Don't worry. Don't worry.
- 27:52I'll take it. Yeah, well, that's the wrap. Oh,
- 27:57I did put it in there. I took the Titans. What
- 28:01an idiot. Oh, you ruined it for yourself. I ruined
- 28:04it. I went three and one because I was like,
- 28:07the Titans are going to be able to beat the flock.
- 28:10Ah, thanks, Kev. I didn't even know I put those
- 28:12in there. That's how behind I am. And then Kev's
- 28:15rendition there. Thanks, buddy. That's not on,
- 28:21right? That's good. Yeah, we'll leave it that
- 28:23way. Anyway, thanks for being here, fellas. Thanks
- 28:27for having me. That puts a wrap on our week five.
- 28:30Podium. Kind of. Yeah, week five. That's right.
- 28:33Podium preview. The week five podium preview.
- 28:35That's right. You already know. Hey, drop the.
