- 0:05Host: In this episode, the type of knife Sylfskaft from Gulhuva.
- 0:27Narrator: This type of dagger, with its stout, almost squat blade, is known among the people of the old Gulhuva kingdom as a “Sylfskaft”, literally self-shaft, implying it was crafted for personal defense above all else. The blade’s design is often short and formidable, with a tapering point meant to pierce flesh and fabric alike but without the length for deep thrusts. Such blades were favored by tradesmen, town dwellers, and even certain courtiers, particularly those who needed a compact weapon that could be concealed yet was capable of ending a confrontation with a single, precise stab.
- 0:27Librarian: This document was found in Hall Scribe in the Library of Kennis. It was a loose page and the page before was about a sword called Lågspännare also from Gulhuva. That document could be dated to be at least three generations old. This page could have been written at the same time as the handwriting and illustrations look the same. It spoke of locally mined iron. If we have had an iron mine, it must have been in the Sturt Mountains. I have not been able to locate any information about a mine there. So much was lost when the government collapsed. All that is left is our library, which is far from complete.
- 5:23Host: Thank you for listening to Stories from Väruld. In the next episode, the Jewel of Jawhara.
