- 0:00Who is doing their work through us when we hide from our own magic, when we hide from our own gifts, who does it serve?
- 0:07Now what I want you to understand is that you represent a number of gifts, perspectives and experiences that make you the exact healer, the exact teacher, the exact dreamer that someone else in the collective is seeking.
- 0:21You have these gifts for a reason. You may feel alone, but you are not alone. You are not alone in your fear. We are all carrying this fear because we've all been made to be small.
- 0:34Hello, soul sibling, hello sunshine, hello divine and magical being. Welcome or welcome back to the soul salon. I hope you enjoy today's soul session.
- 0:45Today I want to show you a representation of the collective consciousness that you are a part of and that is a part of you to really walk you through why it's so important for you to honor your gifts, honor your magic, honor your talents, honor your curiosity, your excitement, your calling, your passion, your pleasure in service of the collective that you are a part of and that is a part of you.
- 1:08So if we imagine that this circle is a visual representation of collective consciousness, every single energy is this in the circle, love, peace, gratitude and also trauma, pain, heartbreak, neglect, abuse, all of the things are in this collective consciousness.
- 1:29And this has been building over centuries. So you're taught to think of yourself as this kind of lone wolf, you know, outside of here, especially if you grew up in the West. And I think these ideals have influenced the way that we see ourselves as our purpose being to self actualize, to self fulfill, to grow ourselves and develop ourselves.
- 1:48But actually this is not the case. This is not where we are. Each of us are part of the collective consciousness. So we represent a specific subset of energies and we are everything everywhere, all at once. We are many different energies and this shifts throughout our lifetime. Now what I want you to understand is that you represent a number of gifts, perspectives and experiences that make you the exact healer, the exact teacher, the exact dreamer that someone else in the collective is seeking.
- 2:17So when you take all the experiences you've had and you don't share them with the world and the way that you feel called to, I know you feel called to create events or to share your music or to write poetry and maybe have a poetry event with your community to build a movement or support the movement, whatever it may be, I know you feel called to be of service in some way to the collective.
- 2:38So we take that calling and then we get stuck in the fear of it, the fear of the size of it, the size of the vision, instead of looking upwards and saying, okay, how can I use the specific set of experiences and gifts and perspectives that I have to serve the collective.
- 2:54I'm not worthy and therefore I'm going to collapse inwards into myself in the sense that all this wisdom, all this knowledge, all of this deeply loving energy, this desire to be of service rather than externalizing it, rather than using it to help walk my fellow people home and walk the earth home, I'm going to hide from that gift.
- 3:15I have to ask ourselves, well, if we do this, if we hide instead of share, who does it serve? What does it serve? Who is doing their work through us when we hide from our own magic, when we hide from our own gifts?
- 3:28Each of us have experienced the magic of a person, they could be that friend who's such a good listener, you feel so heard by them, you feel so held by them and if you're watching or listening to this, I bet you're one of those friends who have a natural talent to hold space for people,
- 3:44because you've so experienced people who couldn't hold space for you, you're so in touch with yourself that you're able to offer that gift of holding space to others, that is a divine gift and that is a way of being of service to other people, is holding space for them, listening to them.
- 4:00And so, because we've all experienced the magic of other people, whether it be the poetry that they write, the way that they embody themselves, I was at this breakfast other day and this woman walked in and she just brought this in liveening, energetic, activating energy, that was her gift.
- 4:14It doesn't always have to be this huge journey that we walk in, it could just be your natural way of being is your gift, your ability to sit in silence could be your gift and we all have multiple gifts.
- 4:25But we need to be thinking about not what is my purpose outside of myself, but what is so home to me, so natural to me, that I'm being called or invited to use to harness in service of the collective.
- 4:41What am I here to cause? What am I here to give? What am I here to offer? You know, there's a reason that you are so magnetic when you speak.
- 4:52There's a reason why you're writing deeply moves people. There's a reason why you're able to host an event, a gathering that leaves people feeling more connected to each other and to themselves. There is a reason.
- 5:04And when we turn that reason away from our egos, away from what will they think of me? What if it's not good enough? What if I don't reach the heights that I want to reach? What if I don't win the award? What if I don't win the prize?
- 5:15And we turn it into how can I alchemize this gift into my deepest calling, my deepest serving, my deepest offering for the collective.
- 5:23We shift the dynamics and we embody the Ramdas quote, we all walk each other home. What does that mean? We are all here to learn from each other, to support each other, to journey through life with each other, to make that walk less lonely, less isolated and more about a collective union, a collective unity.
- 5:42And also that even though it may seem like we're all on these distinct journeys, we're actually all on this journey towards love.
- 5:50We're all seeking more love, we're all seeking more creativity and ability to live in our purpose and in our truth, right?
- 5:57Which a world rooted in love would necessitate, it would require of us, it would demand or ask or invite us into is how can each person be living in love, be living in connection, be living in community.
- 6:09So what I want you to understand is the gift that you have. They're here not to just be contemplated on and journaled about and what is the perfect name to call my podcast and I'm not going to start it until I have it.
- 6:20And what are my brand colors? It's not about that. We need to understand what is my ego saying and what is my soul saying?
- 6:27What is my soul feeling called to? Because the ego wants things to be perfect, the ego wants the perfect website, the ego wants the perfect name, the ego wants to have the shiny thing.
- 6:37The soul is in alignment, the soul is in integrity, the soul understands that I am here to become the kind of healer that I always craved.
- 6:47I am here to become the kind of friend that I always craved. I am here to become the kind of listener that I always craved.
- 6:54And that my dreams cannot be subsumed into this logic capitalist and consumerist and elitist and supremacist and hierarchical logic of I must win, I must be the best, I must have a certain number of followers, I must have a certain number of downloads.
- 7:08Oh, I'm unworthy if I don't have those things. Who is speaking through us when we say that? When we say those things?
- 7:15And with that, I want to read to you this powerful quote by Audrey Lord that I keep coming back to recently, that I think can be of service to you as you think about, who does it serve?
- 7:24When I hide from my calling to serve others, who does it serve? When instead of thinking, how can I be in loving service to the people around me?
- 7:33I think to myself, what will they think of me? The true focus of revolutionary change is never merely the oppressive situations which we seek to escape.
- 7:44But the peace of the oppressor which is planted deep within each of us, which knows only the oppressor's tactics and the oppressor's relationships.
- 7:59So when we are seeking to be the best, to dominate, to win, to gain followers, to be seen in a certain way, to be rewarded in certain ways, is that not the oppressor within each of us?
- 8:12When we are seeking to be placed on a pedestal, instead of be with our audience, with our people, with the frequency of being that is within us, instead we are seeking to be on a hierarchy above them, looking down on them.
- 8:26Is that not the oppressor's relationships, the oppressor's perspectives in each of us?
- 8:31So we constantly need to do this dance of realigning ourselves and say, okay, why is it that I've walked the path that I've walked?
- 8:40Why have I had the set of experiences that I've had? This is not to justify any of them because we're living so out of alignment that I do not believe what we face, the trauma we faced, the colonialism we faced, the sexism we faced, the patriarchy we face, I don't believe that's part of a divine plan, that's not what I believe.
- 8:57But I've walked the path that I've walked, I have the gifts that I have, and I know that there is a reason larger than me that I have these gifts, that I have this perspective, that I have these experiences.
- 9:08And I know that there's this voice inside of me that's going to be hyperfixated on what these systems one from me, winning, competing, being the best, gaining followers, gaining accolades, winning awards, winning fame, that's not our souls speaking.
- 9:25And so how can you conceive of yourself as someone who is part of the larger story of shifting the collective consciousness towards more love, towards more healing, towards more friendship, towards more creativity and a liberated kind of creativity, the kind where you write a poem and maybe it heals something within you.
- 9:48You host an event to further gathering, community, collective experiencing and holding of emotions. If we are to shift the world towards more love, towards more freedom, towards more connection, towards liberated time, time being liberated from capitalism, think of all the creative power that such a shift in the world requires of each of us.
- 10:13Every single part of society has to be reimagined, how we teach, how we educate the youth, how we view education and what makes someone an educator, how we heal, we know that we have to liberate healing from a Western understanding and framework, how we gather and how much we gather, how we relate to each other, how do we hold each other, how do we listen to each other, how do we have conflict with each other in a loving way.
- 10:39How are we in our truth with each other in this society that's not encouraged, you're encouraged to put on a mask, how we exchange and share our gifts and talents in a way that is rooted in collective thriving, how we conceive of what we are all here to do, not to self-actualize, self-realize, self-fulfill, but to be with and through and of each other.
- 11:02Every single part of our current society has to change, has to evolve to its most loving iteration, what does that mean?
- 11:09If you imagine such a world existing, let's say we get that world, let's say we get the world of our dreams, where we wake up every single day and we ask ourselves, how can we be love today, how can we be peace today, how can we be in loving community today,
- 11:26and we're all taking care of and we're all sharing the collective abundance and we're not extracting from and abusing the earth but we are living in harmony with the earth and we are helping heal the earth.
- 11:36In such a world, what would have had to be true of what we do right now?
- 11:42That part of you that wants to share your music, that you know can help heal and sit with people in their pain or give them more joy.
- 11:50That part of you that wants to hold events where you're in more conscious community with others, that part of you that wants to start that podcast on therapy and reimagining and decolonizing therapy and mental health,
- 12:01that part of you that wants to write poetry that speaks to the trauma you've experienced, that part of you that wants to build a movement or support a movement or join a movement, that part of you would have had to reach its full expression for us to live in a world like that.
- 12:19Because we each need to be in our creative power and in our most loving creative self to recreate the world, to reimagine the world.
- 12:28We each need to be tapped into that part of us that is in loving service.
- 12:33And so when we say step into your power, it's really step into our power, our power to reimagine the world, our power to create something more nourishing.
- 12:43At the smallest scale, it feels like over what does making this video do.
- 12:47But if I trust in the ripple effects of the universe, the fact that change happens on the smallest level first, that change is not just the macro, changes the micro and the micro as a representation of the macro.
- 13:01So how I treat my neighbor, how I offer myself in this video, it's not going to change the world on its own, but it sure can start or actually not even start.
- 13:11That's the ego talking again, continue a ripple effect of evolution, of spiritual development, of moving towards more love that I am a part of and that is a part of me.
- 13:22People have moved me to love. Now how can I not move others to love and do the same?
- 13:27And that to me is the other sense in which we are all here walking each other home.
- 13:32But at the end of the day, you were given the talent to do what you do for a reason, not to become famous, not to become known, that's what the ego wants.
- 13:47But for your soul to be in resonance, when you create work that is resonant with yourself and with others, there is such a beautiful, delicious feeling that comes from that, that I really want for each of us.
- 14:00When you make something that your soul feels called to express, that you gave from your soul.
- 14:10And those are the things you are going to fear the most, that is the unfortunate part.
- 14:14It's the things that we are most terrified to bring forth the treasures from us in the book Big Magic.
- 14:21She speaks about, will we be brave enough, Elizabeth Gilbert, to bring forth the treasures within us and to surrender to the fact that we don't even fully know the treasures within us.
- 14:33We can already come to know them and come to express them through boldly and bravely walking towards the fear and not away from it.
- 14:45You are being asked, you are being called into something bigger and I know you can feel it.
- 14:50I know you experience the synchronicities that have been happening to you.
- 14:53I know you experience that you are not vibrating at the same frequency as you used to.
- 14:58Your awareness has shifted, what you are calling in has shifted. You have evolved, okay?
- 15:03You were always precious and divine, but you've evolved into being in deeper touch with the music of the universe.
- 15:10You are listening to things that before you never heard.
- 15:13You are seeing things that before you never saw and you are awakening to the magic of your own gifts.
- 15:21And with that awakening, with that journey you have walked, you have become the perfect healer for someone else.
- 15:29I'm telling you right now, you've become the perfect teacher for someone else.
- 15:34You become the perfect singer for someone else. You become the perfect community organizer for someone else.
- 15:43You are the cheat code. You are someone's cheat code.
- 15:49That tumultuous and wavy and weird journey you've taken.
- 15:53What if it is so that you could have learned and alchemized the lesson so you can teach someone else to take that journey in a much more nourishing and loving and pleasurable way.
- 16:04Because if we are all walking each other home, we're also all here to reduce each other's suffering.
- 16:08Why must we suffer? And as artists especially were made to believe that there's something to glorify in our suffering.
- 16:16We are the next generation of creators. I don't mean this age wise. I mean this consciousness wise.
- 16:22I know you can feel that there's a shift. We are not the same as we once were.
- 16:28And the question is will we be brave enough? Will you be brave enough to walk towards the gifts that you've been given instead of hiding from them instead of avoiding?
- 16:38Instead of avoiding the fact that you feel called to make TikTok so you just consume other people.
- 16:43Will you be brave enough to walk towards your voice?
- 16:46I want to ask you that question again. Will you all of you? Will you be brave enough to walk towards your voice?
- 16:54And when you feel the fear, before you sit down to right, before you sit down to record, before you go out, introduce yourself to a stranger, make a friend, hold a circle, before you honor your gifts, before you speak your truth in conflict with someone in a way that you usually would swallow your truth.
- 17:14Setting boundaries you usually wouldn't set. Will you be able to tap into the fact that you may feel alone, but you are not alone.
- 17:24You are not alone in your fear. We are all carrying this fear because we've all been made to be small and we've all been made to fear the gifts within us, to fear the truth within us because they don't want us in truthful relationship to one another.
- 17:40They don't want us in service to one another. Why is care work so demonized in our culture so undervalued? They don't want us to prioritize caring for each other.
- 17:52And that's part of the broader patriarchal and classist and capitalist structure that we live in. What kind of work is valued? And who does it serve?
- 18:03So when you feel that fear, I felt it before recording this, I just want you to sit with the feeling that there is someone all over the world, there are someone who feel this feeling that you feel and there's going to be one of two choices that those people make.
- 18:18There's people who we get ideas, we feel their charge, their energy, their power, their excitement. It's so wonderful what we could make, isn't it? That song we could create, that podcast we could make, that episode we could do, so exciting, that event we could hold, wow, wonderful.
- 18:36And then what happens after the excitement, after the possibility, after all the curiosity and the joy and the, ooh, imagine what we could be, imagine what we could make, imagine what we could create, what happens next.
- 18:46Fear, overwhelm, perfectionism, self doubt, imposter syndrome. Who am I? Who am I? To have a podcast. What do I know? Who am I? To sing music. I didn't go to singing school. Who am I? To write a book.
- 19:04What do I even know about this? I'm too young, I'm too old. I'm not qualified enough. Who am I? Who benefits from us asking ourselves that?
- 19:14Who am I to be a healer? I didn't go to therapy school. Who benefits from you asking yourself that? Who does it serve? Why they want your gifts isolated within you, never to be expressed, never to be shared. Why?
- 19:27Because if we were all sharing our divine gifts with each other, wherever we are, we were all in our most loving gift offering. We were all offering gifts, gifts. Here's a circle of love that I'm going to hold for you. Here's money I can give you.
- 19:39Here's space that I'm going to hold for you. Here's how I heal this trauma. Let me help you. Here's this coaching session I can give you. Here's this energy healing I can give you.
- 19:47If we were all offering each other what we've been given, the whole world would change. The whole world would change. They don't want that. So they want us to collapse our gifts within ourselves.
- 20:00To be fixated and overthinking and worst case scenario and imagining the worst, imagining being canceled, imagining being hated, imagining everyone criticizing us. What will the goal from high school think?
- 20:11They want you to be thinking that because they know that if we are each in our healer and our divine healing energy knowing that healing takes all modalities, healing is music, healing is events, healing is community gatherings, healing is forming a singing group, healing is creating a new spirituality to match where we are now.
- 20:30They know that this would shift the entire collective consciousness and we can already see that that is undergo right now. The consciousness is shifting.
- 20:39We're making different demands of ourselves and of each other, of our lives, of work.
- 20:46And that didn't happen this year, it was already happening. Okay, it's all unfolding, it's all happening and I will ask you what role will you play?
- 20:55You've been given to by so many creators, so many creators have offered themselves to you.
- 21:00Writing poetry they were scared to write, creating videos they were scared to create, writing books they were scared to write, creating events they were scared to host.
- 21:09Everyone in the collective has offered themselves to you and that's only creatively wisdom that has been passed down to you from elders. The earth itself, creating food, creating nourishment, the sun, giving to you, serving you each and every day, saying, here I am, enjoy me, bask in me, receive me.
- 21:32And so the question is not, what will they think? The question is, as I've been given to, how can I give?
- 21:41As I've been nourished, how can I nourish?
- 21:46As I've been healed, how can I heal?
- 21:51How can you heal? How can you nourish? How can you give?
