- 0:27Speaker 2: Well, I've been dating this girl for like a month now,
- 0:32Speaker 2: and honestly, like things have been really great, like really
- 0:35Speaker 2: really really really well.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Sure, but there's a problem, okay.
- 0:40Speaker 2: With something that like she doesn't know about me. I
- 0:44Speaker 2: don't think it's embarrassing, but it could be kind of embarrassing.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I'm a furry. You're a fury before you set Philapa
- 0:53Speaker 2: and just like hear me out, Okay.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I wish you could see Cannas's face right now.
- 0:57Speaker 3: No, I just never talked to anyone. I've seen it on,
- 1:00Speaker 3: but I've never talked to anyone who actually is No,
- 1:04Speaker 3: it's interesting, it's.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Not it's not something like I tell people right away
- 1:11Speaker 2: of that reaction. I mean, in fact, most people like
- 1:15Speaker 2: in my life, like you don't.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Know, No, we're not laughing at you. I'm interested in this.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I've never really fascinating. No, I'm not a furry virgin.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I've talked to a furry. Oh okay, yeah, no, I'm
- 1:24Speaker 1: I'm experience with furries. Oh yeah, not many. But anyway,
- 1:28Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It's like a huge part of my life. It's like
- 1:31Speaker 2: who I am. Like on our first dates, I was
- 1:33Speaker 2: going to tell because I really liked her, and I
- 1:35Speaker 2: literally almost did. But I mean, I feel like the community,
- 1:39Speaker 2: the furry community I'm talking about, gets like misunderstood so much,
- 1:45Speaker 2: like I kind of like freak out or like kicking
- 1:47Speaker 2: out a little bit. I figure, maybe like we should
- 1:51Speaker 2: get to know each other a little bit more before
- 1:53Speaker 2: I drop, like I want maybe have liked me a
- 1:55Speaker 2: little bit more before I drop that bomb on our
- 1:58Speaker 2: I get like freaked out.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I get that real quick, just so because some people
- 2:02Speaker 1: might not know. And I just thought about that, Yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 1: what a furry is a fur it's and it's I
- 2:06Speaker 1: guess it's kind of hard to explain. Maybe you could
- 2:08Speaker 1: explain a little better, but you could explain what being
- 2:10Speaker 1: a furry is all about.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean for anyone like who doesn't know, being
- 2:16Speaker 2: a furry is like pretty much like basically it's part
- 2:19Speaker 2: of a community that creates characters and brings them to
- 2:22Speaker 2: life through art, costume, cosplay stuff like that.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So you have your suit that you wear and like,
- 2:29Speaker 1: you know, it's it's your character.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah. I've got like a few furry like conventions over
- 2:34Speaker 2: the past few years, and I absolutely like dug it.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I loved it. But what frustrates me is that nobody
- 2:40Speaker 2: bets an eye when someone duds up as like Jedi
- 2:43Speaker 2: or like a comic con. It's like so accepted, but
- 2:47Speaker 2: like for like a furry, people think it's like the
- 2:50Speaker 2: weirdest things.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Like you're right, I mean, people do dress up to
- 2:52Speaker 1: go to comic con all the time, and it's not
- 2:54Speaker 1: that big of a deal, is.
- 2:55Speaker 3: It, Because like those are like major motion picture like franchises.
- 3:00Speaker 4: I thought furries were a bunch of mascots just whoa
- 3:03Speaker 4: getting together?
- 3:04Speaker 1: WHOA.
- 3:06Speaker 4: That's I'm not trying to insult mascot uniform.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean for me, it's like a creative outlet.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And I know, like so usually people have their first
- 3:17Speaker 1: sona you know, you have your own first sona personality Okay,
- 3:21Speaker 1: so no, I'm not I'm not making that up.
- 3:24Speaker 3: It's like an alternate reality.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Do you have a first SONA like a specific one.
- 3:29Speaker 2: My main one is this like kind of like dog.
- 3:33Speaker 2: It's like not goofy, but like I wear pants and
- 3:36Speaker 2: like you know, it's kind of like I created it myself.
- 3:39Speaker 2: It's kind of like like the face kind of looks
- 3:41Speaker 2: like a like a shit to okay, and I'm wearing
- 3:44Speaker 2: like kind of like old what they used to wear
- 3:49Speaker 2: like that, like hundreds of those like that's stockings and
- 3:52Speaker 2: like that, like it was like brown Shores, you know,
- 3:54Speaker 2: like that style. Like yeah, and before like electricity, he
- 4:00Speaker 2: kind of looks like a gentleman dog.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, you know, no, he sounds sophisticated. He sounds sophisticated, exactly. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: he sounds very welcoming.
- 4:09Speaker 2: He brings books. Uh oh, he loves to talk about Yeah.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, well good. So you're terrified that she's gonna freak
- 4:17Speaker 1: out and run when she hears about your pers SONA.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I'm some kind of weirdo. And also
- 4:23Speaker 2: people think it's like some fetish and it's not.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well who used to be a mascot. Yeah, he
- 4:29Speaker 1: was a mascot in high school, which is pretty close.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Not that it's not a lifestyle like you in no
- 4:33Speaker 1: disrespect to the furry community.
- 4:35Speaker 3: But he knows what it's like to take on a character.
- 4:38Speaker 2: He does.
- 4:38Speaker 4: He just dance with the cheerleaders that he was a
- 4:41Speaker 4: black panther. Yeah, the original back.
- 4:43Speaker 2: You give it like a hundred percent. You are that character.
- 4:47Speaker 2: You're not just like in a costume being yourself. You
- 4:50Speaker 2: like you're you're putting on, you know, putting on a
- 4:53Speaker 2: whole persona.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know about a persona. I just
- 4:56Speaker 4: dance with a panther. Got it doesn't sound like you're
- 4:58Speaker 4: really good at it. I mean that was pretty good.
- 5:01Speaker 1: It's everything I do. I get into and I appreciate
- 5:03Speaker 1: his passionate attitude towards me. I'm not knocking you.
- 5:06Speaker 4: I just like, I just I don't know enough about
- 5:09Speaker 4: it to be like gung ho about it.
- 5:11Speaker 1: But you know he's playing it down. He doesn't want
- 5:13Speaker 1: to be embarrassed. This is exactly why the furry community
- 5:16Speaker 1: isn't thriving the way it should, because people like him
- 5:18Speaker 1: don't embrace the lifestyle.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Candice if you're dating a guys over a month and
- 5:22Speaker 2: find out he was a furry, how would you react?
- 5:25Speaker 3: I definitely be in shock, because, well, like I said,
- 5:29Speaker 3: it takes a lot of your time and passion and
- 5:32Speaker 3: like that's like you said, it's more of a lifestyle.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It's not like a hobby.
- 5:36Speaker 4: What if he showed up to your apartment like in
- 5:38Speaker 4: his in his costume, in his persona, that.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Would take a minute to process.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Let's say you really you've done that right, but you
- 5:46Speaker 1: really like this guy. This is not just this has
- 5:49Speaker 1: been on a couple months.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Of dating, and well maybe I would learn to love
- 5:53Speaker 3: that sort of lifestyle as well. I think if someone's
- 5:57Speaker 3: that passionate about something like you should give it a chance.
- 6:00Speaker 3: And then if it's not your thing.
- 6:01Speaker 1: It's not your thing. I'm going on the record saying
- 6:04Speaker 1: I would date a furry and so would Pooh. Sir, well,
- 6:12Speaker 1: can you let us know what you do because I am.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I'm happy that you're happy, and I want to see
- 6:16Speaker 1: love win. Yeah, and I'm going to give you Pooh's
- 6:19Speaker 1: cell phone numbers so you can call him and talk
- 6:21Speaker 1: to him about this and let us know when the
- 6:23Speaker 1: next Furry Convention.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Is I don't really want to go to a fury CON's.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Really it's a decided it's really welcoming and like you know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: you put any character want and embrace here.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Well, thank you so much for Sharon, and I can't
- 6:39Speaker 1: wait to hear what happens and I appreciate it.
- 6:41Speaker 2: You're welcome. Thank you guys for listening.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Absolutely, I mean all Joe's side. Whatever makes you happy.
- 6:45Speaker 1: If it doesn't wrong with people, I don't care. So
- 6:47Speaker 1: if you're going to date somebody that you got to
- 6:49Speaker 1: put all of it out there for sure, whether you
- 6:51Speaker 1: like it or not. The fact she's gonna leave, she's
- 6:55Speaker 1: gonna leave, I mean, I don't know what there is
- 6:57Speaker 1: to it. And also side note too, let's not forget
- 7:00Speaker 1: it that who was not only the mascot of what school, Duncanville, Duncanville,
- 7:04Speaker 1: he was the backup mascot. And I'm not making that up. No,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I don't even I didn't even realize there was a
- 7:11Speaker 1: backup mascot, just.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Alternate when the main one the place.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I know, but you rode the bench as a mascot.
- 7:22Speaker 1: That's impressive.
