Four years after a catastrophic flood tore through eastern Kentucky, artist Lacy Hale is turning devastation into beauty with a massive public mosaic in Whitesburg. Using broken pottery, river glass, jewelry, and cherished personal items donated by locals, the artwork honors the region’s streams and wildlife while serving as a poignant memorial to those lost and communities left rebuilding without support.
