- 0:16Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, take us out.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I was doing some thinking, especially with the midterms coming
- 0:25Speaker 1: up and just in general about life. But, you know,
- 0:33Speaker 1: I would want I would want to have a say
- 0:36Speaker 1: so in my life. I'm just not I've just never
- 0:41Speaker 1: been a person that didn't want to have a say
- 0:45Speaker 1: so in my life. I think that's really one of
- 0:48Speaker 1: the reasons, man, that really got me into comedy in
- 0:51Speaker 1: the first place. I just you know, when I was working,
- 0:54Speaker 1: I was a good employee when I worked. Especially at
- 0:57Speaker 1: Ford Motor Company. I remember one time, man, my supervisor
- 1:01Speaker 1: called the house. I was living with my parents because
- 1:04Speaker 1: I stayed there for six months after I flunked out
- 1:06Speaker 1: of college. And my supervisor called the house because they
- 1:10Speaker 1: needed somebody to come in and do a replacement. And
- 1:16Speaker 1: it was on a Saturday. And my father answered the phone.
- 1:20Speaker 1: And he said, yeah, hold on. Steve is here. He said,
- 1:25Speaker 1: excuse me, can I speak to you for a minute, Mr. Harvey?
- 1:27Speaker 1: He said, yes, sir. He said, I want to commend
- 1:30Speaker 1: you on raising such a fine young man because he
- 1:32Speaker 1: is a diligent hard worker. He said, that's how I
- 1:36Speaker 1: raise all my boys. And he put the man on
- 1:39Speaker 1: the phone and I went on in to work. I
- 1:41Speaker 1: have always put forth my best effort in everything I've
- 1:47Speaker 1: ever done. Now, the problem I had with my jobs
- 1:51Speaker 1: was I never met a person that I thought should
- 1:57Speaker 1: be in charge of me. That was my problem. All
- 2:00Speaker 1: of my supervisors and bosses, I never saw a reason
- 2:05Speaker 1: why they should be in charge of me. And I've
- 2:10Speaker 1: sought to be my own man as long as I
- 2:15Speaker 1: can remember. That has been the ultimate goal. And so
- 2:19Speaker 1: I've always wanted to be a person that had a
- 2:21Speaker 1: say so in my life. Now, listen, if you work
- 2:24Speaker 1: a job, this is not a disparaging remark against anybody
- 2:27Speaker 1: that works a job. That's not what I'm talking about.
- 2:31Speaker 1: But even if you work a job, don't you want
- 2:33Speaker 1: to have a say so in your life? Don't you
- 2:37Speaker 1: want to be able to pick your vacation days? Don't
- 2:39Speaker 1: you want to be able to decide where you want
- 2:41Speaker 1: to go? Don't you want to be able to vote
- 2:44Speaker 1: on policies down there at the company? Don't you want
- 2:47Speaker 1: to sit in on the union meetings? Don't you something?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Don't you want to climb the corporate ladder? Don't you
- 2:52Speaker 1: want to have a say-so in what your paycheck look like?
- 2:57Speaker 1: I did. I've always wanted to have that. And all that, man,
- 3:02Speaker 1: leads up to these midterm elections. Don't you want to
- 3:05Speaker 1: have a say so? I can't believe what this administration
- 3:10Speaker 1: has done for two years. It's unbelievable. That Project 2025
- 3:18Speaker 1: has taken a stronghold in this administration and everything in
- 3:22Speaker 1: Project 2025 that he said he wasn't aware of and
- 3:26Speaker 1: he didn't know the guy that wrote Project 25 when
- 3:29Speaker 1: there's pictures of him on the jet with the guy.
- 3:32Speaker 1: All of it. And they doing it all. They got
- 3:36Speaker 1: rid of the Civil Rights Act. They're getting rid of
- 3:38Speaker 1: the Voting Rights Act. They got rid of History Act.
- 3:44Speaker 1: In schools in some states, they've gotten rid of names
- 3:47Speaker 1: off buildings. They've rescinded DEI. They've done everything they can.
- 3:51Speaker 1: They done ripped up Medicare. Your health care cost is high.
- 3:56Speaker 1: They starting wars without getting congressional approval. They just doing
- 4:01Speaker 1: what they want to do. Project 2025 is designed for
- 4:06Speaker 1: white supremacy people. To get back in charge of this
- 4:11Speaker 1: thing because the fear is black and brown is going
- 4:14Speaker 1: to take over. Now, well, let me explain something. Blacks
- 4:17Speaker 1: and browns ain't trying to take over. Blacks and browns
- 4:21Speaker 1: just want their share. See, you can't just keep everything.
- 4:26Speaker 1: You just can't be in charge of all of it.
- 4:30Speaker 1: This ain't yours. Why do we constantly have to remind
- 4:34Speaker 1: you that we built this thing? That we are the
- 4:37Speaker 1: reason you exist. If you have, listen to me, if
- 4:42Speaker 1: you for three to four hundred years create free labor,
- 4:48Speaker 1: do you know the business that you can create? When
- 4:53Speaker 1: you build a country of cotton and tobacco and infrastructure
- 5:02Speaker 1: and wells and fields and If you farming and you
- 5:10Speaker 1: build a country on that and you're trapping all it
- 5:15Speaker 1: is how you built this country. You did it with
- 5:20Speaker 1: free labor. For hundreds of years of free labor. And
- 5:28Speaker 1: not only did you do that, but the labor that
- 5:31Speaker 1: you bought over here, you bought and sold it. Wait
- 5:36Speaker 1: a minute. Hold on. Wait a minute now. Wait a minute.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Not only did you get free labor, you took the
- 5:44Speaker 1: same people who provided free labor and sold them because
- 5:47Speaker 1: you said you owned them and you made that money too. What?
- 5:52Speaker 1: You mean you get the free labor and then you
- 5:56Speaker 1: get to sell the people that provide you the free
- 5:58Speaker 1: labor and make money on that? And then when they
- 6:00Speaker 1: have children, you got a farm system? We tired of that, man.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You don't want to have a say so? Get your
- 6:08Speaker 1: ignorant behind to the pole and quit sitting in your
- 6:11Speaker 1: life without making decisions in it. You're letting these people, man,
- 6:16Speaker 1: just do like they want to do it. I'm sick
- 6:18Speaker 1: of it myself. I'm sick of it. Asking y'all to
- 6:22Speaker 1: treat me fairly. Man, miss me with that. Y'all have
- 6:27Speaker 1: a great day today. Talk to God. He loves you.
