- 0:07Speaker 2: missed you. I'm in Oxford, UK, and I knew that
- 0:11Speaker 2: you were swimming in my pool in Los Angeles when
- 0:14Speaker 2: it was 115 degrees. And I went on the app
- 0:18Speaker 2: on my phone with the security cameras and watched you swim.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 0:23Speaker 3: That.
- 0:24Speaker 1: That's a little scary that's a little non-trustworthy that's a
- 0:27Speaker 1: little like that sounds it sounds it sounded cute at
- 0:29Speaker 1: first but then it turned into in my mind i
- 0:32Speaker 1: wonder if this motherfucker's taking my shit while i'm out
- 0:35Speaker 1: of town.
- 0:35Speaker 2: No i never i wasn't i didn't think you were
- 0:38Speaker 2: robbing me i was watching you play i was watching
- 0:40Speaker 2: you play with your kids and it was so adorable
- 0:43Speaker 2: and i was just like and florence comes in she's
- 0:45Speaker 2: like please tell me you're not watching your friends play
- 0:47Speaker 2: in your pool on your phone and i'm like i
- 0:49Speaker 2: am uh i might be adorable That's.
- 0:53Speaker 4: How much I missed you. I missed you.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Well, I missed you so much that I went to
- 0:57Speaker 1: your house and pretended I was hanging out with you
- 0:59Speaker 1: in your pool.
- 1:00Speaker 2: No, you went to my house because it was fucking
- 1:01Speaker 2: hot as balls. And we broke the LA County broke
- 1:04Speaker 2: the record for heat wave, huh?
- 1:05Speaker 1: Dude.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Listen, you can say what you want to say, but
- 1:09Speaker 1: it is orange here. It is literally orange outside. When
- 1:13Speaker 1: you look out of your window.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Because of the fires?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Because of the fires. In San Francisco, it's worse. In
- 1:19Speaker 1: the Oakland, Golden State area, that shit looks like freaking
- 1:23Speaker 1: Blade Runner 2. Literally. With Ryan Gosling when they go
- 1:26Speaker 1: to freaking Vegas, dude. It is freaking nuts, yo.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I know. I've been seeing pictures.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And then here, it's got like an orange tint. Everything
- 1:35Speaker 1: is orange. And you can feel it in your fucking throat.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You feel the smoke in the air and in your throat, dude.
- 1:42Speaker 1: And for people that are scared of coronavirus- That was
- 1:44Speaker 1: the first thing, like everybody in the house all of
- 1:47Speaker 1: a sudden got a tickle in their throat at the
- 1:48Speaker 1: same time.
- 1:49Speaker 4: And we're all like, holy shit, do we have Corona?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 1: What up, Flo?
- 1:54Speaker 4: What up, Flo?
- 1:56Speaker 2: You know what she brought me? A Moscow Mule.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Nice.
- 1:59Speaker 6: Wow.
- 2:01Speaker 1: She brought you an Adeo Shun. She brought you an
- 2:03Speaker 1: Adeo Shun.
- 2:04Speaker 2: I'm not positive our Moscow Mule is going to be
- 2:07Speaker 2: called Adeo Shun.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I think we need to change that name to Adeo Shun, dude.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now. We need to change the
- 2:12Speaker 1: universal language of Moscow Mule needs to be the Adeo
- 2:15Speaker 1: Shun now.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I'm just worried that unless you're Let's say you're not
- 2:19Speaker 2: an avid listener of the podcast, but you've heard that
- 2:21Speaker 2: Zach and Donald put out a Moscow Mule canned beverage.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You'd be like, oh, what's that one that those guys made?
- 2:26Speaker 2: You're not going to be, you're not going to have
- 2:28Speaker 2: fucking know what an Adeo Shun is.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I bet you they do. I bet you. Really? I
- 2:32Speaker 1: bet you.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Anyway, I do love me.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I love me a Moscow Mule.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I got to say. You love you some Adeo Shun.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Hey, everybody. I'm sorry. This is Zach Braff and I.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Fucked up my recorder, so that's why my sound sounded
- 2:47Speaker 2: shitty for the beginning of this podcast, but can you
- 2:49Speaker 2: notice the change now? It's because I'm wise enough to
- 2:52Speaker 2: know that I fucked up my recorder, but now my
- 2:55Speaker 2: sound is perfect.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Okay, but not only did I miss you, I miss Daniel,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and I miss Joelle. Daniel, you look like your hair
- 3:00Speaker 1: is growing out faster than it could possibly grow, and Joelle,
- 3:05Speaker 1: you look as magnificent as ever. Thank you. Hi, Donald.
- 3:08Speaker 6: How are you?
- 3:09Speaker 3: Hi.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Don't we have a reporter joining us today? We should
- 3:12Speaker 2: tell the audience what's happening.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Sure, yeah.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Donald.
- 3:16Speaker 1: We're being interviewed by E!
- 3:18Speaker 4: Entertainment.
- 3:19Speaker 1: They're this big news channel in the States of America.
- 3:23Speaker 2: The podcast has become so huge that reporters are clamoring
- 3:28Speaker 2: to get into the room with us and say, hey guys,
- 3:32Speaker 2: what is the key to why this thing is so popular?
- 3:36Speaker 2: And so we have a nice reporter from E who's
- 3:38Speaker 2: going to sit in on the show. Should we let
- 3:40Speaker 2: her in, Dan? Let's do it.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Let her in. Is she here?
- 3:43Speaker 2: What's her name?
- 3:44Speaker 6: It says Lauren Peister.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Lauren.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, little did she know, but welcome to
- 3:51Speaker 1: the show, Lauren Peister from E!
- 3:56Speaker 6: Hi, Lauren.
- 3:56Speaker 7: How are you guys doing?
- 3:59Speaker 2: Welcome to the show. You know, my producer, my producer, Joelle,
- 4:02Speaker 2: had told me that You were just going to hang
- 4:05Speaker 2: out and listen. And I said, no, no, Joelle. That's
- 4:07Speaker 2: not how Donald and I roll. She's coming in the room.
- 4:10Speaker 2: We're going to talk to her. You're going to be
- 4:13Speaker 2: a part of the conversation, Lauren.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah. We were talking about California. Are you in California
- 4:20Speaker 1: right now?
- 4:20Speaker 7: I am in California.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Smells like smoke. It looks like freaking straight up. It
- 4:26Speaker 1: looks like Blade Runner outside, right?
- 4:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 5: It looks weird.
- 4:30Speaker 8: Orange smoke.
- 4:32Speaker 7: That is San Francisco.
- 4:33Speaker 8: Pictures, but weird.
- 4:35Speaker 4: San Francisco looks scary, man.
- 4:37Speaker 7: Looks terrifying.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Lauren, this is what we do. Donald sits in his
- 4:41Speaker 2: closet drinking something. This is apple juice. Yeah, sure. Donald
- 4:47Speaker 2: justifies to his wife day drinking when he does the podcast.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I'm in Oxford, which makes me sound smart. And I'm
- 4:56Speaker 2: allowed to drink because it's 710 here.
- 4:59Speaker 1: No, but Danil is in New York.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Daniel's in New York. Joelle's in L.A. And we do
- 5:06Speaker 2: this all over the world, this podcast. We bring it
- 5:08Speaker 2: to the people.
- 5:10Speaker 7: Isn't it fine for everyone to drink if one person
- 5:12Speaker 7: can drink?
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the energy I was going on.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Joelle, do you disagree? Joelle, do you disagree?
- 5:19Speaker 5: No, no, I like these rules. These are very helpful rules.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Very, very helpful rules. If one person's drinking, everybody's allowed
- 5:25Speaker 1: to drink. That's just how it works.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I'll be back in the United States of America when
- 5:29Speaker 2: we do our next show. Isn't that right, Joelle? yes
- 5:33Speaker 2: absolutely okay so this is our last this is our
- 5:35Speaker 2: last intercontinental show dude yes bro yes we're gonna all
- 5:40Speaker 2: be back on the same time slot what's that lauren.
- 5:43Speaker 7: You sure you want to come back to the united.
- 5:45Speaker 2: States well it you know lauren i don't know if
- 5:48Speaker 2: you're supposed to be commenting this early.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Have you heard some things have you heard some things
- 5:57Speaker 1: are we missing out on some things lauren from e-news.
- 6:00Speaker 5: No Just seeing the news. The general state of chaos.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's not great. Are you talking about the fact that
- 6:10Speaker 1: the president hid knowing that the coronavirus was a dangerous.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Virus floating around?
- 6:20Speaker 2: He ran down the ramp.
- 6:25Speaker 4: He ran.
- 6:27Speaker 1: That is the equivalent of that shit, right? Isn't that
- 6:29Speaker 1: the equivalent of it? When somebody, when like in the movies,
- 6:32Speaker 1: when the guy gets caught out there, like in one
- 6:35Speaker 1: of my favorite movies, which we'll talk about on the
- 6:37Speaker 1: podcast today, Can't Buy Me Love, with Ronald Miller, where
- 6:42Speaker 1: he pays Cindy Mancini to make him popular and everything.
- 6:46Speaker 1: And then when he gets found out, he kind of
- 6:48Speaker 1: just runs away from everyone. You know what I mean?
- 6:51Speaker 1: I feel like that's what this dude did when he
- 6:53Speaker 1: found out that freaking- that this virus was, he just
- 6:58Speaker 1: made it so that everybody wasn't scared of it and
- 7:01Speaker 1: kind of just ran away from the problem instead of
- 7:04Speaker 1: dealing with it straight on.
- 7:05Speaker 4: That's just me personally.
- 7:06Speaker 2: It didn't even work.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Everybody was scared of it anyway.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Not everybody. A lot of people caught that shit because
- 7:12Speaker 1: they didn't, they were believing what he was saying. You know,
- 7:16Speaker 1: all these motherfuckers that were like hydroxychloroquine and fucking all
- 7:19Speaker 1: of this stuff. It's going to save my life because
- 7:21Speaker 1: the president doesn't think this is that serious.
- 7:24Speaker 4: All of you now know. That he knew and was lying.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but as Lauren knows from following the podcast on,
- 7:30Speaker 2: we tend to stay away from politics on this show.
- 7:33Speaker 4: That's not politics. This is fucking real life, dude. This
- 7:35Speaker 4: is my life. Fuck this. This virus isn't political.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Let's not make this virus political by saying because the
- 7:41Speaker 1: president hid that shit that it's a political issue.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Now, fuck that shit. That's fucked up. He's wrong for that.
- 7:47Speaker 4: He was wrong for that. I didn't want to cause panic.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Fuck you, dude.
- 7:50Speaker 1: If that's the case, denounce freaking white supremacy and let's
- 7:55Speaker 1: talk about George Floyd and let's talk about systemic racism.
- 7:58Speaker 1: If you don't want to cause panic, talk about that
- 8:00Speaker 1: shit instead of stoking nose fires and causing fights across America, man.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Don't come at me with this bullshit about we're not
- 8:06Speaker 1: supposed to be political because this isn't a political statement.
- 8:08Speaker 1: This is real talk right now, dude. We got somebody
- 8:11Speaker 1: in office who's fucking up. And it's fucking up majorly. Sorry, Lauren,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I don't mean to curse in front of E. I
- 8:16Speaker 1: hate to do that shit.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I don't think Lauren wants us to change the show, Donald,
- 8:20Speaker 2: so you should curse just as much as you normally do.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I feel like the viewers of E might be a
- 8:26Speaker 1: little upset that I'm using such colorful words.
- 8:28Speaker 4: But fuck that shit, dude. This dude's an asshole for this, man.
- 8:31Speaker 7: The real talk is partly why you guys have kind
- 8:35Speaker 7: of like... been like a defining feature of my quarantine
- 8:38Speaker 7: because i've listened to every episode i listened to every
- 8:41Speaker 7: episode twice a week so and i love when you
- 8:44Speaker 7: guys just like come out with it and you're like
- 8:46Speaker 7: you know it's not a political thing it's like people
- 8:49Speaker 7: are dying and but we still have to like have
- 8:53Speaker 7: a good time somehow i guess i think what.
- 8:56Speaker 2: We um what we strive to do here is um
- 8:59Speaker 2: for the most part, obviously since you listen to the show,
- 9:01Speaker 2: you know that we don't always succeed, but we strive
- 9:04Speaker 2: to have this be 60 to 90 minutes of taking
- 9:07Speaker 2: people's minds off the horror show because that's what a
- 9:11Speaker 2: lot of people have responded that they really like about
- 9:14Speaker 2: what we're doing is obviously we're talking about the show
- 9:16Speaker 2: we were on and we're telling funny anecdotes, but we're
- 9:19Speaker 2: really just trying to just say, hey, we're four friends
- 9:23Speaker 2: that are hanging out and shooting the shit and hopefully
- 9:26Speaker 2: not talking about so many topics that are so upsetting
- 9:31Speaker 2: and maybe just take your mind off it for a second.
- 9:33Speaker 2: But of course it overflows and it's upsetting and we
- 9:38Speaker 2: can't help but be ourselves and real at times.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Do you remember when all we had to worry about
- 9:43Speaker 1: was the coronavirus? Do you remember when that was just
- 9:45Speaker 1: the problem? Do you remember when that was it and
- 9:47Speaker 1: it seemed like the world was fucking coming to an end?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Look at where we are now, man.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Come on, y'all.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Make America great again, my ass, man. Come on now.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Come on now. Come on now.
- 9:59Speaker 6: Let's get that Green New Deal popping.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Yeah, let's segue a bit. And why don't we... We
- 10:05Speaker 2: haven't seen each other. We've been off for a week.
- 10:08Speaker 9: And.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I thought it was very funny when Donald and I
- 10:11Speaker 2: announced it on Twitter and Instagram that we were going
- 10:14Speaker 2: to take the week off just because we needed it.
- 10:16Speaker 2: And most people wrote, you guys are deservant.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I feel like deservant is a real word, though.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I feel like now it's become a real word. I
- 10:26Speaker 4: really laughed hard.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I feel like I might be blessed. When the Urban
- 10:29Speaker 1: Dictionary is like, yo, deservance now a word, dude.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I just love that people were like, you guys are
- 10:35Speaker 2: so deservant. It made me laugh and smile. And we
- 10:38Speaker 2: were deservant because we've been doing this without a break
- 10:41Speaker 2: since whatever the date was that L.A. was shut down
- 10:45Speaker 2: because Donald and I were about to start and go
- 10:47Speaker 2: into a studio.
- 10:48Speaker 1: No, we did take a break. We took a break
- 10:50Speaker 1: when the whole George Floyd thing went down.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Oh, of course. We took a break. Floyd mayhem, but
- 10:59Speaker 2: we haven't taken a break just for our own just
- 11:01Speaker 2: kind of exhale. And I got to say, I like
- 11:03Speaker 2: it because it makes me miss you all, miss you guys.
- 11:06Speaker 2: And it makes me, I don't know, it feels refreshing
- 11:10Speaker 2: to be like, I feel like we have so much
- 11:11Speaker 2: to talk about and catch up on. And I don't know,
- 11:15Speaker 2: it's a nice feeling. It's nice to have absence make
- 11:18Speaker 2: my heart grow fonder.
- 11:19Speaker 1: That is exactly what has happened. I thought about you,
- 11:22Speaker 1: each and every one of you, not you, Lauren, sorry,
- 11:24Speaker 1: we just met. But I thought about the rest of
- 11:26Speaker 1: you guys. Like, a lot, actually. Amen. I want to
- 11:30Speaker 1: know how to go with your girlfriend's parents. Did they
- 11:33Speaker 1: like you?
- 11:35Speaker 2: Me? Oh, Dan. Dan, yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 6: They're great.
- 11:39Speaker 2: They're wonderful.
- 11:40Speaker 1: But did they like you?
- 11:43Speaker 6: I think they liked me, yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 2: What's not to like? He's so charming. Oh, gee, you're
- 11:48Speaker 2: very sweet. Joelle, how was your break? What did you do? Oh, man,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I slept, and it was amazing.
- 11:55Speaker 9: Yeah, I had to let everyone know that I needed
- 11:57Speaker 9: some time to myself, trying to do the self-care game.
- 12:02Speaker 9: So I slept, and I cooked with my brother, and
- 12:05Speaker 9: it was amazing. I highly recommend it.
- 12:07Speaker 1: What did you cook? All right.
- 12:10Speaker 5: Bulgogi beef bowls, which was fun.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Oh, shit, you went fucking Korean barbecue, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 9: Justin's like an amazing cook, so he goes all out,
- 12:18Speaker 9: and I'm just kind of sitting in the kitchen, like,
- 12:20Speaker 9: stirring things.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Important part of the process.
- 12:24Speaker 1: That is delicious. That sounds delicious. Oh, my gosh. Wow.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You know, Donald, you never counted us in. We usually
- 12:32Speaker 2: count in, but we got distracted by the excitement of
- 12:35Speaker 2: Lauren being here and just catching up. Do you want
- 12:39Speaker 2: to welcome all the listeners from all over the world
- 12:42Speaker 2: back with just a beautiful number count into our magnificent theme.
- 12:52Speaker 7: Song?
- 12:52Speaker 1: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Hey, what an episode.
- 12:59Speaker 1: A lot of good things in this episode.
- 13:01Speaker 10: I gotta say.
- 13:02Speaker 1: A lot of great.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Things in this episode.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Holy cow. You know, every once in a while.
- 13:12Speaker 10: We stumble across one that has, like, you know, four.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Or five different moments that we really remembered. Like the
- 13:31Speaker 2: pimp walk is in this. The pimp strut. The original
- 13:34Speaker 2: one of two pimp struts is in this episode. The late,
- 13:37Speaker 2: great Sam Lloyd has a lot of funny stuff in
- 13:39Speaker 2: this episode.
- 13:40Speaker 4: He has some amazing things in this episode.
- 13:42Speaker 2: But we're going to get to America and the rest
- 13:45Speaker 2: of the world's favorite part.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Wait, hold up. Let me get my notes.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Okay. He's got to go run and get his notes.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I'm going to keep it 100 with you guys. So
- 13:53Speaker 1: the air conditioning went out in my house.
- 13:56Speaker 3: No.
- 13:57Speaker 1: It's been out for the past two weeks now. No.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Yeah, so during the heat wave, we went.
- 14:03Speaker 2: And bought- How did you live with the heat wave?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Oh, you're about to say. We went and bought a
- 14:06Speaker 1: bunch of fans and stuff like that and have been
- 14:09Speaker 1: fanning the shit out of each other in this house.
- 14:11Speaker 1: These are the reasons you have friends with pools, y'all. Yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 1: The one mistake that we as a family.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Made- I took a screenshot. Do you want to see
- 14:20Speaker 2: you playing?
- 14:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I would love to.
- 14:22Speaker 6: Yes.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Yes. Lauren, you weren't on the phone yet. Donald went
- 14:25Speaker 2: swimming at my house, and I missed him so much
- 14:28Speaker 2: that I went on the security camera thing on my phone,
- 14:32Speaker 2: and I took a screenshot of him and his family playing.
- 14:36Speaker 2: And my girlfriend walked in while I was doing it,
- 14:38Speaker 2: and she's like, please tell me you're not watching your
- 14:40Speaker 2: friends on the security camera play. And I was like, no,
- 14:44Speaker 2: I'm not. But I was. It's going to be hard
- 14:47Speaker 2: to see, but that's you guys all. Oh my God.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Enjoying ourselves. That's adorable. She's like, she's like, tell me
- 14:55Speaker 2: you're not zooming in on Donald right now. I am.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Look how much fun he's having. That's so cute.
- 15:01Speaker 1: It was a blast. It was a great labor. Was
- 15:04Speaker 1: it Labor Day weekend that we just went through? Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Labor Day weekend.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Uh, I literally watched you throwing your kids and having fun,
- 15:12Speaker 2: and then I felt really creepy, and then my girlfriend
- 15:15Speaker 2: made fun of me, and so I got off and
- 15:17Speaker 2: stopped watching.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Did you celebrate Labor Day in London? Did you guys
- 15:21Speaker 1: celebrate Labor Day in quarantine?
- 15:23Speaker 2: They don't have that here. They don't have that particular holiday.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Did you, as an American in London, celebrate Labor Day, bro?
- 15:32Speaker 2: Well, I did. I chose not to work, and I thought...
- 15:36Speaker 2: I thought, oh, I'm celebrating Labor Day here by not working.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I don't work.
- 15:40Speaker 1: What are we doing?
- 15:41Speaker 2: We make this podcast. I'm writing this screenplay that I'm
- 15:45Speaker 2: hoping to make.
- 15:47Speaker 4: And you have a really dope movie coming out. That
- 15:49Speaker 4: movie looks amazing.
- 15:50Speaker 2: We should talk about that. Let's talk about that.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Let's get into it. You, Robert De Niro, and Morgan Freeman,
- 15:57Speaker 4: Emile Hirsch.
- 15:57Speaker 2: And Tommy Lee Jones.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Tommy Lee Jones, Emile Hirsch. Also, Eddie Griffin. Eddie Griffin.
- 16:04Speaker 1: How did I forget the brother's name? Eddie Griffin, this
- 16:07Speaker 1: is a dynamite cast, brother.
- 16:09Speaker 2: It's a really big movie for me, you guys. And
- 16:12Speaker 2: the trailer is really funny. If you didn't see it,
- 16:14Speaker 2: please go. You can see it on YouTube. It's called
- 16:16Speaker 2: The Comeback Trail. It's coming out November 13th. If you're
- 16:20Speaker 2: a fan of mine, you know that a lot of
- 16:23Speaker 2: the stuff I've done, I've at least been some part
- 16:26Speaker 2: of writing, directing, or producing. And then, of course, the
- 16:30Speaker 2: TV show that we're all talking about. But for me,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I never really had a ton of opportunities to do
- 16:34Speaker 2: a film like this where It's literally me and De
- 16:37Speaker 2: Niro are partners. And it takes place in the 70s.
- 16:42Speaker 2: And the premise is really funny. It's about this producer.
- 16:45Speaker 2: De Niro plays this really sketchy movie producer who's never
- 16:47Speaker 2: had a hit. The mob is after him because he
- 16:50Speaker 2: owes them money. And he figures out that if he
- 16:53Speaker 2: kills his star... while doing stunts and making the movie
- 16:57Speaker 2: that the insurance check he could get would be way
- 16:59Speaker 2: more than any money he could ever make off of
- 17:02Speaker 2: the movie. So he comes up with this scheme that
- 17:05Speaker 2: he's going to hire some old washed up actor and
- 17:08Speaker 2: make sure he dies doing his own stunts. And that's
- 17:12Speaker 2: Tommy Lee Jones. So he finds Tommy Lee Jones, who's
- 17:14Speaker 2: literally playing Russian roulette in an old age home. And
- 17:17Speaker 2: he's like, you're perfect for the part. And he sets about,
- 17:20Speaker 2: we said, I'm clueless. I'm like the innocent partner who
- 17:23Speaker 2: doesn't know he's doing this. And he said De Niro
- 17:26Speaker 2: sets about trying to make sure that while we're making
- 17:28Speaker 2: this movie, Tommy Lee Jones dies.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Of course.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Hey, let's not give it all away now.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I'm not going to give it away. I didn't give
- 17:35Speaker 2: away anything more than it's in the trailer. OK, but
- 17:37Speaker 2: it's just a huge opportunity for me. And I'm watching
- 17:40Speaker 2: the trailer and I just can't believe it. I'm like,
- 17:42Speaker 2: I'm just smiling ear to ear because I made the
- 17:44Speaker 2: movie a year ago. But watching myself like go, go,
- 17:47Speaker 2: go toe to toe with De Niro is surreal and
- 17:49Speaker 2: really cool.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Well, that's the one thing the trailer doesn't show. The
- 17:52Speaker 1: trailer doesn't show how much of it is just you
- 17:55Speaker 1: and De Niro this whole movie. I was pretty into
- 17:57Speaker 1: all of this because being your best friend, I get
- 18:00Speaker 1: to know certain things. But as much as this is
- 18:04Speaker 1: a movie with Robert De Niro, it is a movie
- 18:06Speaker 1: with Zach Braff. So Zach Braff fans out there will
- 18:09Speaker 1: lose their mind at the genius that is he next
- 18:15Speaker 1: to Bobby D.
- 18:16Speaker 4: And I made it rhyme on purpose. You're welcome.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. As Daniel says,
- 18:22Speaker 2: you honor me. Thank you. No, it is a really
- 18:24Speaker 2: big deal for me. And so if you're listening to
- 18:27Speaker 2: this and you didn't see me post about it, please
- 18:30Speaker 2: go check out the trailer. It's called The Comeback Trail,
- 18:33Speaker 2: and it's coming out, I think. I mean, they say
- 18:35Speaker 2: November 13th. Of course, anyone with a movie coming out
- 18:37Speaker 2: is going, I think it's coming out. I mean, I
- 18:40Speaker 2: don't know. Who knows what the hell is going to
- 18:42Speaker 2: happen by November 13th?
- 18:43Speaker 4: Well, a lot of movies came out recently.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess there's places of the country, and certainly
- 18:48Speaker 2: here in London, I know Tenet came out, and people
- 18:53Speaker 2: are going to the theater.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Did Mulan come out in theaters over there?
- 18:57Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, yeah, the theaters are open here,
- 19:00Speaker 2: so they have very limited seating, and they have all
- 19:02Speaker 2: sorts of rules, understandably, but there are movie theaters open here.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Okay, well, let's get into the show.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Let's get into the show. Great episode, directed by Michael Spiller,
- 19:10Speaker 2: and I don't remember a lot of this one. I
- 19:13Speaker 2: remember the highlights, of course. I remember... the pimp walk,
- 19:17Speaker 2: because I think it's one of the funniest shots in
- 19:18Speaker 2: Scrubs history. I mean, first of all, you would have
- 19:20Speaker 2: been talking that you thought you were overweight in this
- 19:22Speaker 2: era of the show, but you look fit as hell. Dude,
- 19:25Speaker 2: this is the, you got some nice titties. You got
- 19:27Speaker 2: some perky titties.
- 19:29Speaker 1: This is how Hollywood gets you, dude. This is how
- 19:31Speaker 1: Hollywood gets you. Listen, before quarantine, I felt like, oh man,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I'm so out of shape. I'm a heavy dude right now.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I look back before quarantine and, I wish I looked
- 19:42Speaker 1: like that right now. Because of quarantine, I'd gain 20 pounds.
- 19:46Speaker 1: And so to add that on to where I was before,
- 19:49Speaker 1: I wish I still... looked like I did before freaking COVID.
- 19:53Speaker 4: I was felt.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I was fit. As they say in London, I was
- 19:58Speaker 1: fit Donald. I was doing my thing. You know what
- 20:01Speaker 1: I mean? And now, you know.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Are you uncomfortable with how your body is right now?
- 20:07Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 20:08Speaker 4: I'm so happy that I don't have to go anywhere
- 20:10Speaker 4: to show anyone.
- 20:11Speaker 2: But if a paparazzo took a picture of you at
- 20:15Speaker 2: the beach, would you feel like a beached whale? Wow. No,
- 20:20Speaker 2: I'm asking you if you feel self-conscious about your body image.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Let's keep it 100. If paparazzi is taking pictures of
- 20:27Speaker 1: me again, I don't give a fuck what I look like, dude.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Congratulations, Faison. You're back on the motherfucking map.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Paparazzi, take pictures of my Hershey's Kisses and my big
- 20:38Speaker 1: ass belly. It doesn't matter to me. I just know
- 20:41Speaker 1: I'm doing something right. Especially during COVID. If you feel
- 20:45Speaker 1: like I'm the celebrity that you need to chase down
- 20:48Speaker 1: during COVID times, when you could be getting Ariana Grande
- 20:52Speaker 1: or one of the Kardashians in a mask, if you
- 20:55Speaker 1: feel like chasing me down is worth it, I'm yours.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Okay, well, I think they're going to be outside your house.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I think you and I once went to Hawaii and
- 21:04Speaker 2: we got followed and all these pictures were taken of us.
- 21:07Speaker 2: And I felt two things. I felt annoyed because it
- 21:11Speaker 2: just makes you self-conscious in your head that you're being
- 21:14Speaker 2: photographed without knowing. And then I really didn't like how
- 21:16Speaker 2: I looked. I thought I looked doughy and fat. And
- 21:20Speaker 2: I just wondered if that was on your mind because
- 21:22Speaker 2: you've been sharing with our audience that you're not happy
- 21:24Speaker 2: with how you're looking.
- 21:25Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. I'm not happy with how I'm
- 21:28Speaker 1: treating myself in these situations. They say you go two
- 21:32Speaker 1: different ways. Some people get really healthy during this time,
- 21:36Speaker 1: and then some people are like, well, since I'm in,
- 21:40Speaker 1: let's be comfortable. And I chose the comfortable path, and
- 21:44Speaker 1: I just had my checkup. And by the way, it
- 21:47Speaker 1: went great. I am healthy. I got good cholesterol.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Did you get the prostate check?
- 21:54Speaker 1: Dude, I've already gotten a colonoscopy.
- 21:57Speaker 2: No, but did you get the finger in deep in
- 22:00Speaker 2: your poop hole?
- 22:01Speaker 1: Not this time. No, I didn't. You're missing out.
- 22:05Speaker 2: You can request it even if you've had it where
- 22:07Speaker 2: you can say, like, hey, man, I'm here. Like, give
- 22:09Speaker 2: it to me.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I know.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I know.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'm aware of this. This time I wouldn't.
- 22:14Speaker 2: No, but why did you skip? At your age, at
- 22:17Speaker 2: our age, you're supposed to once a year get your
- 22:19Speaker 2: prostate checked.
- 22:21Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Because they took a blood sample of all of that
- 22:24Speaker 1: stuff too.
- 22:25Speaker 2: No, he's got to go in there with his finger
- 22:27Speaker 2: and he touches the whole stuff.
- 22:28Speaker 1: That's not necessarily so anymore from what I understand. But
- 22:31Speaker 1: you could be right. And I might have missed out
- 22:33Speaker 1: on getting my prostate checked.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Well, double check.
- 22:35Speaker 5: We just lost Chadwick Boseman.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. I've already had a colonoscopy in the
- 22:41Speaker 1: last couple of years and they say I don't need
- 22:43Speaker 1: to get another one for five years.
- 22:45Speaker 2: That's your colon. I'm talking about your prostate. They need
- 22:47Speaker 2: to put the fingers deep and touch it. Why are
- 22:51Speaker 2: you so shocked by this? Just because Lauren's here? Lauren's
- 22:54Speaker 2: not listening.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I know why my prostate needs to be checked. I'm
- 22:57Speaker 1: sitting here wondering, why didn't I get my prostate checked
- 23:00Speaker 1: this year?
- 23:01Speaker 2: Well, you got to have everything checked above a certain age.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I don't know when men are technically supposed to have.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I say if you're an African-American male, once you turn 40,
- 23:09Speaker 1: you should go and start getting checked out often and
- 23:12Speaker 1: as much as you possibly can, especially if you have
- 23:16Speaker 1: insurance because a lot of this stuff is covered by insurance,
- 23:18Speaker 1: I think. you should get it done as soon as possible.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I don't know what age, Daniel, do you know what
- 23:24Speaker 2: age you're technically supposed to start getting the prostate check?
- 23:28Speaker 2: Because I think we're joking about it because he does
- 23:30Speaker 2: go inside your butthole, but it is, it is something
- 23:32Speaker 2: that people shy away from, but need to make sure
- 23:34Speaker 2: they have done because I'm pretty sure it's the earliest
- 23:38Speaker 2: age for prostate.
- 23:39Speaker 9: Cancer.org says age 50 for men who are at average
- 23:43Speaker 9: risk of prostate cancer expected.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Nope.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 23:46Speaker 5: That's the wrong fact.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Hold on. That's bullshit. I'm telling you as your fake doctor, man.
- 23:50Speaker 4: It's well before that.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I would start at 40 if you're a man. That's
- 23:54Speaker 2: your fake doctor. That's two fake doctors giving you a recommendation.
- 23:58Speaker 2: We're going to protect your prostate. Let them go in.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Let them touch it. Donald likes it. My guy, I
- 24:05Speaker 2: happen to have a guy who makes jokes. He'll say
- 24:06Speaker 2: things like, was that as good for you as it
- 24:08Speaker 2: was for me? Your doctor probably won't do that.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Who's your guy?
- 24:12Speaker 2: I'm not going to say his name on the air.
- 24:14Speaker 4: We'll bleep it out.
- 24:15Speaker 2: His name is And he's sort of a doctor that
- 24:20Speaker 2: kind of makes jokes and lightens the mood a bit,
- 24:23Speaker 2: which I kind of like. Sometimes it's too much, but
- 24:26Speaker 2: for the most part, I like that he has little
- 24:28Speaker 2: witty quips. Anyway, should we talk about the episode, Donald,
- 24:31Speaker 2: for the love of God?
- 24:33Speaker 4: Yeah, get your timer out.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 24:34Speaker 2: All right, ready? Now, Lauren, as you know from being
- 24:37Speaker 2: our number one appreciator of this podcast, that Donald– We
- 24:43Speaker 2: had a little detour when Donald said that he had
- 24:46Speaker 2: been trolled successfully and he was going to not do
- 24:49Speaker 2: his sort of interpretation and what he got out of
- 24:52Speaker 2: the episode, he was going to do a straight summary.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Bill Lawrence was here, thankfully, helped me shut it down.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Lots of people on my social media, Donald said, go
- 25:00Speaker 2: back to the old way. So here we go. Are
- 25:03Speaker 2: you ready, Donald?
- 25:04Speaker 4: I hope so.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Here we go. And go.
- 25:08Speaker 1: JD gets to be a surgeon for a week, making
- 25:10Speaker 1: him one of the cool kids. Turk gets to mentor
- 25:12Speaker 1: his best friend and what it means to be cool.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Elliot accidentally tells Nurse Flowers she loves him. She thinks
- 25:19Speaker 1: it's no big deal until he starts abusing their new
- 25:21Speaker 1: relationship status.
- 25:23Speaker 4: And Dr. Cox plays a prank on.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Kelso that goes so well, it opens the chief of
- 25:27Speaker 1: medicine's eyes to how everyone in the hospital feels about him.
- 25:31Speaker 1: How he's affected surprises not only Cox, but Kelso too.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Sometimes we take on challenges for pleasure, whether it be
- 25:39Speaker 1: for ourselves or others. But when you get down to it,
- 25:42Speaker 1: it's what it is, a challenge. And if not handled properly,
- 25:46Speaker 1: it can turn into real problems. Good intentions still have consequences,
- 25:51Speaker 1: but no good deed goes unpunished.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Okay. Now, very well said, and you're a good writer.
- 25:59Speaker 2: The game is that you do it in 30 seconds.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Impossible this time.
- 26:02Speaker 4: Listen, impossible. This time, impossible.
- 26:06Speaker 2: That was a hot 48.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I had to make up for last week. I had
- 26:08Speaker 1: to make up for last week. And, well, two weeks ago,
- 26:12Speaker 1: I should say, I had to make up for. And
- 26:14Speaker 1: I felt like I owed it to all of y'all
- 26:16Speaker 1: out there. to do that and so i did.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Well i think it was well said you know for
- 26:21Speaker 2: me this episode was a was a lot i kept
- 26:23Speaker 2: coming back to something every human being deals with i
- 26:27Speaker 2: imagine um and that is people being obsessed what other
- 26:30Speaker 2: people think about you and and and that's sort of
- 26:33Speaker 2: the one of them for me the main theme of
- 26:35Speaker 2: this episode it's funny i was watching it going sometimes
- 26:38Speaker 2: i think about oh what's donald gonna say in his
- 26:39Speaker 2: summary well like what is the grand motif of this
- 26:43Speaker 2: uh episode and for me it really was everyone is
- 26:45Speaker 2: concerned about what everyone else thinks about them.
- 26:49Speaker 1: That's a that's a theme with scrubs though like pretty
- 26:52Speaker 1: much every episode we deal with the insecurities of how
- 26:56Speaker 1: we're perceived on this on on this show uh jd
- 26:59Speaker 1: deals with it all the time yeah elliot that's that's
- 27:03Speaker 1: like the focus of her character same thing with judy
- 27:06Speaker 1: judy deals with wanting to be liked by everyone uh
- 27:09Speaker 1: carla's character same thing with cox we know now that
- 27:12Speaker 1: cox is this broken man. It really does. This is
- 27:16Speaker 1: the theme, at least so far of this season, that
- 27:20Speaker 1: nobody's put together, but we're in charge of saving so
- 27:23Speaker 1: many people's lives. That's real talk. That's something that we
- 27:29Speaker 1: as a nation deal with.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Well, is it a nation or is it a human
- 27:34Speaker 2: condition thing? Because I think that we all have these
- 27:36Speaker 2: busy brains, and even if you're a super confident person,
- 27:39Speaker 2: even if you're fucking... you know, the most successful, confident
- 27:42Speaker 2: person in the world. I'm sure you battle these, the
- 27:46Speaker 2: self-doubt and worrying about how you're, how you're perceived. I mean, I, I, I,
- 27:51Speaker 2: you know, and there's so many times where you, someone,
- 27:54Speaker 2: a friend of yours, or someone will say like how
- 27:56Speaker 2: they were perceiving it in a moment. And it's completely
- 27:59Speaker 2: different than when you thought. And I think that plants
- 28:01Speaker 2: doubt in our minds. We go, wait, am I, you know,
- 28:03Speaker 2: cause it, the way what we're thinking in our brains
- 28:06Speaker 2: can't always be perfectly accurate as to what, how everyone
- 28:09Speaker 2: else is perceiving us. And that, and that sort of
- 28:11Speaker 2: makes us, I'm sorry, I'm saying it universally makes me
- 28:14Speaker 2: feel insecure sometimes where I'm like, I don't know that I'm,
- 28:18Speaker 2: I'm coming across. I don't know that I'm understood. You
- 28:20Speaker 2: know what I mean? Like, I don't know if like,
- 28:21Speaker 2: I'm always coming across. Like I, like in my brain,
- 28:24Speaker 2: I think I am. I mean, I've had, I'm sure
- 28:25Speaker 2: you've had that experience Donald where someone's like their perception
- 28:29Speaker 2: of what just happened was so 180 degrees from yours
- 28:32Speaker 2: that you start to doubt, like, am I judging environments correctly?
- 28:36Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah, no, absolutely. The acting game is a perfect example
- 28:41Speaker 1: of that. You put in your best performance and then
- 28:43Speaker 1: there's somebody out there, you're very proud of it, and
- 28:46Speaker 1: then there's somebody out there who says, you know, what
- 28:48Speaker 1: you did wasn't good. But how you perceived what you did,
- 28:53Speaker 1: you put in all the hard work and you dug
- 28:57Speaker 1: deep and you thought you found something, but then there's
- 29:00Speaker 1: going to be a bunch of people who don't see
- 29:02Speaker 1: it the way you see it. And, you know, that's
- 29:06Speaker 1: just how it is. And that's what makes, if anything,
- 29:09Speaker 1: that's what makes people that work in hospitals human. We
- 29:12Speaker 1: put all of this pressure on our frontline workers. We
- 29:14Speaker 1: put all this pressure on people who work in hospitals
- 29:16Speaker 1: and stuff like that to fix everything and to make
- 29:20Speaker 1: sure they get it right. But at the end of
- 29:22Speaker 1: the day, they're human just like we are. And they're
- 29:24Speaker 1: going to make mistakes. And they do things that aren't
- 29:28Speaker 1: necessarily for us but sometimes are for them, whether it
- 29:32Speaker 1: be good or bad. And it's important that we as
- 29:37Speaker 1: humans realize that when we put all of this pressure
- 29:41Speaker 1: on someone, that they're dealing with shit just like we are.
- 29:46Speaker 1: And so, you know.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Right, but I don't even think it needs to be
- 29:48Speaker 2: the heightened... I don't even think... I just think that
- 29:51Speaker 2: it's just a universal human condition thing. It's not even
- 29:53Speaker 2: at the... Obviously, we're talking about a hospital show here.
- 29:56Speaker 2: One thing I do love about these characters is that
- 29:59Speaker 2: they're at least open to getting feedback. You know what
- 30:03Speaker 2: I mean? Like they're at least open to, you know,
- 30:06Speaker 2: I was just, when I was watching the show, everyone,
- 30:08Speaker 2: at least at the end has kind of, I mean,
- 30:10Speaker 2: I know it's a TV show, they have to learn
- 30:11Speaker 2: a lesson, but I was just, I was just liking
- 30:14Speaker 2: that the idea of people being open to getting feedback.
- 30:19Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 30:19Speaker 2: Like Sarah gets a lot of feedback from Rick Schroeder's character.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Kelso gets feedback from Johnny C quite aggressively in this.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I get plenty of feedback from Turk in this episode.
- 30:31Speaker 2: I just like that, you know, in so many situations
- 30:33Speaker 2: in our lives, we have people in our lives who,
- 30:35Speaker 2: no matter how passionately and calmly you give them feedback,
- 30:40Speaker 2: they just don't hear it, they don't listen, they don't
- 30:42Speaker 2: import it into who they are. Whereas, at least in
- 30:44Speaker 2: this show, it's kind of, you feel like, oh, these
- 30:47Speaker 2: people are going to evolve because their friends are giving
- 30:52Speaker 2: them powerful feedback that they need to hear.
- 30:55Speaker 7: Right.
- 30:55Speaker 1: But when you get feedback from other people, you don't
- 30:57Speaker 1: want to hear that shit.
- 30:58Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 30:58Speaker 2: Sometimes I do. Sometimes I mean, dude, you and I,
- 31:01Speaker 2: you and I have had like arguments and heart to
- 31:04Speaker 2: hearts where I like to think, I like to think, but,
- 31:07Speaker 2: but still, I'd like to think you said something that I'll,
- 31:09Speaker 2: that I'll go, okay, let me. And of course my family,
- 31:11Speaker 2: my friends, my, my loved ones. I feel like there's
- 31:14Speaker 2: plenty of times where I'll go, okay, let me, that's
- 31:17Speaker 2: might be a tough pill to swallow, but let me
- 31:19Speaker 2: sit with it. Okay. Let me, let me see how
- 31:21Speaker 2: I can make change. I mean, you do that.
- 31:23Speaker 1: You've done that. Yeah, I agree 100%. But to hear
- 31:27Speaker 1: it from a random person or someone who is an
- 31:32Speaker 1: adversary isn't necessarily something that, you know, when heard is
- 31:36Speaker 1: something that, you know, you want to receive. That's just
- 31:38Speaker 1: how it is.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Of course. And it has to be told in a
- 31:42Speaker 2: gentle way at times. So at 114, first of all,
- 31:46Speaker 2: I never worn anything on this TV show other than
- 31:48Speaker 2: blue scrubs. 36 seconds in, there I am in green
- 31:53Speaker 2: scrubs alongside you.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you something real quick, but I
- 31:57Speaker 1: wanted to wear the long johns underneath the scrubs, the
- 32:01Speaker 1: long sleeves, and they told me right away they were like, no,
- 32:05Speaker 1: that's reserved for Zach. Zach is going to be the
- 32:08Speaker 1: only one that does that.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I had that in my contract.
- 32:11Speaker 4: No, you didn't, dude.
- 32:13Speaker 2: No, you didn't. You think I had any fucking contract negotiations?
- 32:16Speaker 2: I was a fucking waiter at a French Vietnamese restaurant.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Not at this point. I wasn't like, the long sleeves
- 32:22Speaker 2: are only for me or I won't do the part.
- 32:24Speaker 4: But I remember being like, I want to wear some
- 32:25Speaker 4: long sleeves. And they were like, no, we... We've decided
- 32:28Speaker 4: that J.D.
- 32:29Speaker 1: And.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was a Carrie Bennett thing.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 4: No doubt.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Our brilliant costume. We need to have Carrie Bennett on
- 32:34Speaker 2: this show, by the way.
- 32:34Speaker 4: That's a great idea.
- 32:35Speaker 1: She has.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I want you fans to know, by the way, that
- 32:40Speaker 2: we've got a lot of requests for Judy and Sarah
- 32:42Speaker 2: to come back. We tried with both of them. They're
- 32:43Speaker 2: both sort of busy right now, but we will be
- 32:46Speaker 2: getting them back, so be rest assured. I also want
- 32:49Speaker 2: to circle back real quickly since we want to be
- 32:52Speaker 2: responsible since we brought up prostate cancer and Joelle has
- 32:55Speaker 2: found the age is It says 40 to have a
- 32:58Speaker 2: prostate exam if you have a family history, 45 if
- 33:01Speaker 2: you're African-American, 50 if you have no family history and
- 33:05Speaker 2: are not African-American. But I'm going to tell you that
- 33:08Speaker 2: I started getting them at 40, and I recommend that.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I started at 40 also. With that, we're going to
- 33:13Speaker 1: go to break. We'll be right back. Scrubs Rewatch Show
- 33:18Speaker 1: with Zach and Donald.
- 33:22Speaker 4: And we're back!
- 33:25Speaker 2: Did you notice at 3.52, the nurse pulls off the
- 33:28Speaker 2: tail that's been taped to my butt that someone has
- 33:32Speaker 2: pranked me with, and then she pats my bottom. It's
- 33:35Speaker 2: never discussed. It has nothing to do with the show
- 33:39Speaker 2: at all, but the nurse gives me a little pat
- 33:42Speaker 2: on the rear.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I honestly believe it's a way to say that these
- 33:48Speaker 1: guys are all tight at this hospital.
- 33:52Speaker 2: I mean, I just thought, I just don't know. I
- 33:53Speaker 2: don't even know how it came about. Like I don't even,
- 33:55Speaker 2: JD doesn't even like turn around and.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Be like, no, he accepts her. Right. He accepts the
- 34:00Speaker 1: fact that he gets tapped on the ass. That was
- 34:02Speaker 1: by Lynn actually.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Oh, it was Lynn.
- 34:04Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 2: One of our regulars. Yeah. Lynn gave me a nice,
- 34:06Speaker 2: a nice firm pat on the bottom. Now let's talk about, um,
- 34:10Speaker 2: Sarah says, I love you too. She's talking about the
- 34:13Speaker 2: CD cause she's organizing her CD collection. And then Rick
- 34:16Speaker 2: Schroeder's character hears it as a, as an, I love
- 34:19Speaker 2: you statement. That's always weird, huh, in a relationship, the
- 34:22Speaker 2: moment when you're going to say I love you. I mean,
- 34:24Speaker 2: these guys haven't been dating that long. The idea that
- 34:26Speaker 2: love would come into it is pretty early.
- 34:28Speaker 4: It sucks when it slips out and you didn't mean it.
- 34:30Speaker 1: You know what I mean? And sometimes that happens. Does
- 34:34Speaker 1: that happen to you?
- 34:34Speaker 2: How long in your relationship with Casey did you say
- 34:36Speaker 2: you said I love you?
- 34:37Speaker 4: She said it first.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Oh, nice.
- 34:40Speaker 1: It was over Astro Burger because we would go to
- 34:43Speaker 1: Astro Burger after the club every night.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Oh, was she ever?
- 34:46Speaker 1: No, it was. She was fucking wasted. She was like,
- 34:51Speaker 1: I love you! As she devoured a burger in her face.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Does the first I love you count, ladies and gentlemen,
- 35:00Speaker 2: if you're shit-faced when you say it?
- 35:02Speaker 1: I don't know. I think it counts.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Jewel, your thoughts?
- 35:06Speaker 5: I feel like once it's said, you can't put the
- 35:07Speaker 5: genie back in the bottle. It's out there. How can
- 35:10Speaker 5: it not count? It's been said. Although, if the person does.
- 35:13Speaker 9: I used to have a rule in college that if
- 35:15Speaker 9: I couldn't remember it, it didn't happen.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Dude i once said it after uh sex and i
- 35:23Speaker 1: had just started dating the girl and oh god it
- 35:26Speaker 1: was because well i was going through i was divorcing
- 35:30Speaker 1: and i was you know out as a single man
- 35:34Speaker 1: for the first time.
- 35:35Speaker 2: And your first time you had sex you had an
- 35:37Speaker 2: orgasm and you're like i love you.
- 35:39Speaker 1: And and yeah and That must have been quite an orgasm.
- 35:44Speaker 4: After I said it, I was like, oh, no, wait.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I love this. I love this.
- 35:52Speaker 4: What we just did was amazing.
- 35:54Speaker 1: And I love the fact that I'm doing that now.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Not necessarily that I love it.
- 35:59Speaker 2: What did she say? What did she say?
- 36:01Speaker 1: She was like, oh.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Well, this is really fast. And then I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Before we go down this, and then I jumped in.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It was the sex. It was the sex.
- 36:16Speaker 4: I was blinded by the light.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Blinded by the light.
- 36:21Speaker 4: What does he say next? What comes after that?
- 36:24Speaker 2: I know the real lyric is, rap, rap. Oh, fuck. Obviously,
- 36:30Speaker 2: everyone thinks it's wrapped up like a douche, but what
- 36:31Speaker 2: is it, Diane?
- 36:33Speaker 6: Revved up like a douche, another runner in the night.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Wrapped up like a deuce. What the fuck does that mean?
- 36:38Speaker 2: Wrapped up like a deuce.
- 36:39Speaker 6: Revved. Revved up like a deuce.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Like a deuce deuce. What does that mean?
- 36:41Speaker 6: It's like a two-cylinder engine. Revved up like a deuce.
- 36:46Speaker 4: I thought you.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Said like a runner and I thought you said wrapped
- 36:48Speaker 1: up like a deuce.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Like a twosie. Like a twosie.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Wrapped up like a twosie that you caught in the
- 36:55Speaker 1: middle of the night and you had to wrap that
- 36:57Speaker 1: shit up like, oh shit, I didn't get to the
- 36:58Speaker 1: toilet in time.
- 36:59Speaker 2: So wait, you thought the interpretation of the song was
- 37:01Speaker 2: you shit your bed and had to run with the
- 37:03Speaker 2: twosie to the toilet? What a romantic lyric for a song.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I knew that's not what it was.
- 37:08Speaker 2: I always thought it was wrapped up like a douche.
- 37:10Speaker 1: That's disgusting, dude.
- 37:13Speaker 2: No, I don't even know if you can wrap up
- 37:15Speaker 2: a douche. But anyway, we have E here. I'm sorry, Lauren.
- 37:18Speaker 5: For fuck's sake.
- 37:20Speaker 6: No, enough. That's enough.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Donald, what did you think about Boing Fwip? This is
- 37:26Speaker 2: a fan favorite. People love it when Ted develops this
- 37:30Speaker 2: idea that he's rubber and you're glue. Boing Fwip.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I love Boing Fwip. Boing Fwip has stuck with me
- 37:37Speaker 1: throughout life. There's a few things in Scrubs history that
- 37:40Speaker 1: have stuck with me. Boing Fwip is one of them.
- 37:42Speaker 1: So's your face is another one.
- 37:44Speaker 6: Yes.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I use so's your face like I use boing flip.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Now there's a palm pilot moment here where all the
- 37:50Speaker 2: nerdy medical students are all sitting around. Daniel, you've striked
- 37:54Speaker 2: me as someone who probably had a palm pilot.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Ah, you caught me.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I never was. It was kind of like the first
- 38:04Speaker 2: smart phony type thing, right? I didn't have one.
- 38:07Speaker 6: Yeah, and I certainly didn't need it back then either.
- 38:10Speaker 2: But yeah, I had one. But you can have your
- 38:12Speaker 2: calendar on it, and it would go online, right?
- 38:15Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 6: I had my calendar on it. It said, go to school,
- 38:18Speaker 6: come home from school. Very real important stuff.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Here's the question now, though. Now that iPhone and Galaxy,
- 38:26Speaker 1: I guess, are the two major smartphone distributors, are you
- 38:32Speaker 1: going to get the Galaxy now that it does the
- 38:35Speaker 1: Xbox on– The Galaxy screen?
- 38:39Speaker 9: Oh.
- 38:42Speaker 2: I don't know what this is. What are you talking about?
- 38:44Speaker 1: So Xbox now has made it so that you can
- 38:46Speaker 1: play Xbox on your smartphone.
- 38:50Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like remote play kind of stuff.
- 38:53Speaker 9: Right.
- 38:53Speaker 1: And all you have to do is connect your phone
- 38:57Speaker 1: to the Xbox controller, and now you're in your Xbox.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 39:03Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Play on the bus. But wouldn't that drain the hell
- 39:05Speaker 5: out of your battery?
- 39:07Speaker 4: Who gives a shit if you can play for an hour?
- 39:08Speaker 9: I gotta use that thing to get everywhere if I'm
- 39:11Speaker 9: on public transit.
- 39:13Speaker 1: All anybody uses their phones for nowadays is to look
- 39:16Speaker 1: at fucking Instagram, TikTok. Nobody does freaking emails anymore.
- 39:21Speaker 9: The college can write their papers on their phones.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Donald and Joelle are watching the WAP video over and
- 39:27Speaker 2: over again.
- 39:29Speaker 1: I mean, yes, but... Great video.
- 39:33Speaker 6: This is another thing that I could go off on
- 39:35Speaker 6: for an hour, but there are definitely some things about
- 39:38Speaker 6: Android that I really like, but as long as I
- 39:41Speaker 6: still have this MacBook Pro and this iPhone, I'll probably
- 39:44Speaker 6: stay in the Apple family.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I got to tell you, the reason I'm so loyal
- 39:48Speaker 2: to iPhone... is that I feel when I send someone
- 39:53Speaker 2: a text and it goes green, that our friendship will
- 39:56Speaker 2: forever be limited.
- 39:57Speaker 1: We will never.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I agree. I don't know if anyone else feels this.
- 40:02Speaker 2: When it goes green, I go, I don't, and this
- 40:05Speaker 2: is so shitty to say, but I don't think that
- 40:07Speaker 2: our friendship can ever go to the next level if
- 40:09Speaker 2: you're not a blue receiver.
- 40:10Speaker 9: As someone who has an Android, it's true because now
- 40:12Speaker 9: you're like left out of the same emoji categories. You
- 40:15Speaker 9: can't get, getting into a group chat of iPhone users
- 40:18Speaker 9: with an Android is literally nightmarish.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I hate that.
- 40:20Speaker 5: We spent like days trying to figure it out. And
- 40:22Speaker 5: finally we're like, just go back to the Twitter group chat.
- 40:24Speaker 5: It's not possible.
- 40:26Speaker 4: I don't want to pay.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I don't want to pay to talk to you. I
- 40:28Speaker 1: don't want to pay to talk to you. And it's
- 40:30Speaker 1: free if you have an iPhone. You don't have unlimited texting?
- 40:33Speaker 6: You have unlimited texting.
- 40:34Speaker 2: You don't know what you're talking about.
- 40:37Speaker 1: You still got to pay for data though, don't you?
- 40:39Speaker 6: You don't have unlimited data?
- 40:42Speaker 2: Daniel's gonna help you get set up you need a
- 40:45Speaker 2: better plan my point is you know when you send
- 40:49Speaker 2: a group text out.
- 40:50Speaker 1: When you're not at home that shit does not count.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Listen you know when you're in a group text and
- 40:57Speaker 2: you send it to like 10 people and there's one
- 40:59Speaker 2: fucker that makes it all go green and you're like
- 41:01Speaker 2: who's the asshole who made this whole group chat go
- 41:03Speaker 2: green and.
- 41:05Speaker 5: I feel bad about it that's you Joelle only for.
- 41:08Speaker 9: Now I'm gonna get the new iPhone when it comes
- 41:10Speaker 9: out but it's supposed to come out this month and
- 41:11Speaker 9: they haven't announced a date yet I'm like eagerly I
- 41:15Speaker 9: want to get rid.
- 41:15Speaker 5: Of this phone so bad oh I can't wait it's
- 41:18Speaker 5: gonna be a great day.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Let's talk about Donald at 822 in his ballet outfit
- 41:29Speaker 2: Donald what were those moves you're doing bro.
- 41:31Speaker 1: That was definitely something that I picked up from like
- 41:33Speaker 1: modern dance class when I was a kid.
- 41:35Speaker 2: That shit was hilarious. And not only that, your fade
- 41:37Speaker 2: that you had on, that wig is hilarious.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Dude, listen, like most actors, a lot of people will
- 41:44Speaker 1: be like, I never did that. But as a youth,
- 41:47Speaker 1: I've taken so many dance classes, even if it was
- 41:50Speaker 1: like one or two, you know, as a kid, I've
- 41:53Speaker 1: taken tap, I've taken modern, I've taken ballet, I've taken
- 41:57Speaker 1: all of these dance classes to try and... better my
- 42:01Speaker 1: resume when, you know, casting directors look at your skills
- 42:05Speaker 1: and stuff like that. If you've taken a class, you
- 42:07Speaker 1: can say, oh, well, I do modern or I do
- 42:09Speaker 1: tap or, you know what I mean?
- 42:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 42:12Speaker 1: And all I did was channeled from all of the
- 42:17Speaker 1: classes I took as a youth into that moment and
- 42:20Speaker 1: danced around.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Well, it was funny. It was funny as shit. I mean,
- 42:23Speaker 2: I wish I could see the outtakes for that. I
- 42:24Speaker 2: don't know if it's probably on the blooper reel, but
- 42:26Speaker 2: I mean, I just wanted to see more. It was
- 42:28Speaker 2: cut too quick. I wanted to see you dancing around
- 42:30Speaker 2: in your fucking outfit.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I felt very svelte when I look back at that now.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I look at that and I'm like, wow, I was
- 42:36Speaker 1: in shape.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, we saw you when you did the pimp strut.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I mean, you had like a C cup and you
- 42:43Speaker 2: looked firm.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Well, you know, they look like A's, but they're really C's.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah, they were delicious. I liked your wig, and then
- 42:50Speaker 2: I had the long mullet on.
- 42:51Speaker 1: For when you walk in the room. Now, I remember
- 42:56Speaker 1: something completely different when they meet in college. I remember
- 42:59Speaker 1: JD saying something, and maybe this was in the outtakes,
- 43:04Speaker 1: but JD saying something like, I'm a first-level wizard.
- 43:08Speaker 2: That must be a different episode. It's a different episode.
- 43:11Speaker 1: But you're introducing yourself to... JD's introducing himself to Turk,
- 43:16Speaker 1: isn't he?
- 43:16Speaker 2: No, I think I'm your roommate and I'm walking, I
- 43:18Speaker 2: walk in, this is not the first time we're meeting.
- 43:21Speaker 2: The first time we meet is when we talk about Wizardry.
- 43:24Speaker 4: I thought we'd do a whole montage.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a funny montage, but I don't think it's
- 43:28Speaker 2: the very first time we meet.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I thought it was. I thought it was.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I don't remember, but I loved the mullet and you
- 43:36Speaker 2: and I in college and every time we cut back there,
- 43:38Speaker 2: I think it's so funny.
- 43:40Speaker 4: That's a great storyline.
- 43:41Speaker 1: If they were to ever do a re- remake of Scrubs,
- 43:45Speaker 1: it would be great to do the college years.
- 43:47Speaker 2: The college years? Our old ass is in the fucking wigs.
- 43:53Speaker 4: With a bunch of young kids all around us and
- 43:54Speaker 4: we're just old people.
- 43:55Speaker 2: That's the pitch. Like that show Pen15. You ever see
- 43:57Speaker 2: that show Pen15?
- 43:58Speaker 1: No, I have not.
- 43:59Speaker 2: There's two women playing 15-year-olds and everyone around them are
- 44:04Speaker 2: real 15-year-olds, but they play 15-year-olds. We should do that
- 44:06Speaker 2: shit for college. It would be hilarious.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 44:08Speaker 5: You guys would be so good at that.
- 44:10Speaker 2: That would be fucking fun. Donald. Okay. We got the show, guys.
- 44:14Speaker 2: That's the fucking remake. I noticed that Carl and Elliot
- 44:18Speaker 2: really seem to be friends in this episode. That kind
- 44:21Speaker 2: of struck me. I was noticing... We've been talking about
- 44:23Speaker 2: how their friendship was sort of building, and now they're
- 44:26Speaker 2: like buddies shooting the shit with no animosity. She's giving
- 44:30Speaker 2: her advice on Rick Schroeder.
- 44:33Speaker 4: I think that our memory of how the two of
- 44:35Speaker 4: them were.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Just dates to the first few encounters that they had
- 44:41Speaker 1: in the first season. But I really do believe that
- 44:43Speaker 1: Elliot and Carla, they go on to become friends. The
- 44:47Speaker 1: bestest of friends.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong on the
- 44:51Speaker 2: timeline of it all, but this just episode, as I
- 44:53Speaker 2: was making notes, it made me think, oh, they're really like,
- 44:55Speaker 2: she's confiding in her. They have sort of an inside
- 44:57Speaker 2: joke about, she says something about Carla's hummus breath or something.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Well, they do it a lot. They do it a lot.
- 45:04Speaker 1: When she started dating Rick Schroeder's character on the show,
- 45:08Speaker 1: the two of them were talking where she's like, she says, Carla,
- 45:11Speaker 1: you know how I'm crazy? And Carla's like, yeah. She's like, well,
- 45:14Speaker 1: I'm having a hard time keeping that away from Nurse Flowers.
- 45:17Speaker 1: You know what I mean? So they've obviously have developed
- 45:21Speaker 1: a friendship.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Yeah. She confides in her.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:23Speaker 2: How about Ted, the lawyer's reaction to Ken dying when
- 45:27Speaker 2: he thinks Ken. So Johnny C. changes, puts a death
- 45:33Speaker 2: date on Kelso's portrait. And then, oh my God, Sammy
- 45:36Speaker 2: was so funny. He was just like elated.
- 45:39Speaker 4: He was ecstatic.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:41Speaker 4: In the words of Mike Tyson, he was ecstatic.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Ecstatic?
- 45:44Speaker 1: He was ecstatic. Let's talk about one thing. Ted's band
- 45:49Speaker 1: is now doing commercial jingles. Yes. Do you know a
- 45:53Speaker 1: commercial jingle he's doing when he gets cut off? When
- 45:56Speaker 1: they're like, you deserve a break today. Do you remember
- 46:00Speaker 1: what that's from?
- 46:01Speaker 2: Right?
- 46:06Speaker 1: My wife thought it was Disney. Like Disneyland.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's close to Disney.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Somewhat. What is it? McDonald's.
- 46:14Speaker 4: At McDonald's. McDonald's, man.
- 46:17Speaker 1: They've had some of the best jingles in the history.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Do you know what one of my favorites is? Go ahead.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Big Mac filet of fish, quarter pound of French fry,
- 46:28Speaker 1: icy Coke, thick shake, sundaes, and apple pies. You remember
- 46:32Speaker 1: that one?
- 46:33Speaker 2: No. That sounds like a wrap. Speaking of wrapping McDonald's,
- 46:37Speaker 2: are you going to go get a Travis Scott burger
- 46:39Speaker 2: or whatever it's called?
- 46:40Speaker 1: Do you remember this?
- 46:42Speaker 2: I'm so confused by the Travis Scott.
- 46:43Speaker 1: For the great taste of McDonald's.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I'm so confused by the Travis Scott McDonald's collaboration. Can
- 46:50Speaker 2: someone who knows more about pop culture explain it to me? Joelle,
- 46:52Speaker 2: you are our master of all things pop culture. Maybe
- 46:54Speaker 2: Lauren can.
- 46:54Speaker 4: She works for E.
- 46:55Speaker 6: Lauren can.
- 46:56Speaker 4: Lauren can.
- 46:57Speaker 1: She works for E.
- 46:59Speaker 5: The kids love Travis Scott, man.
- 47:01Speaker 9: And McDonald's needs the kids to come eat there because
- 47:03Speaker 9: their whole lives, they've been like, what was the documentary
- 47:06Speaker 9: that they made about?
- 47:07Speaker 2: Super Size Me. Super Size Me, yeah.
- 47:11Speaker 5: So, like, these kids their.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Whole lives, McDonald's has been, like, persona non grata. Like,
- 47:15Speaker 1: it's gross.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Don't go there. Get out of your feet somewhere else.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Bad for you.
- 47:18Speaker 5: And, like, Travis Scott can't miss.
- 47:19Speaker 9: Like, Cactus Jack, like, his shoes at Nike were selling
- 47:22Speaker 9: out like crazy.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 47:24Speaker 9: I just think it's, like, a really brilliant partnership to
- 47:26Speaker 9: try to, like, get some of his fans in. And
- 47:28Speaker 9: there are, I've seen employees selling their, like, Cactus Jack McDonald's, like,
- 47:32Speaker 9: uniforms for, like, $ 600 online.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Joelle, do you like Travis Scott?
- 47:37Speaker 9: Uh, you know, sometimes he hits in the rotation, but
- 47:41Speaker 9: I'm not like a stan.
- 47:43Speaker 5: I wouldn't call myself a V.
- 47:45Speaker 1: But that makes me know that you're on the same
- 47:47Speaker 1: type of hip hop that I'm on. The fact that
- 47:49Speaker 1: you call yourself a stan means that you're an Eminem fan.
- 47:52Speaker 1: It means you like lyrical... You know what a stan is?
- 47:57Speaker 6: That's become vernacular more than it is strictly attributed.
- 48:02Speaker 1: It comes from one song. It does.
- 48:06Speaker 9: I can appreciate what Eminem is doing in his time,
- 48:09Speaker 9: but it's not really for me.
- 48:11Speaker 1: You're telling me you weren't on that I sit back
- 48:15Speaker 1: with these packed zigzags and the You weren't on that shit.
- 48:18Speaker 1: You weren't on that shit. His palms are sweaty. Wee's knees,
- 48:21Speaker 1: arms are heavy. His mom is on a sweater already.
- 48:25Speaker 1: You're telling me you wasn't down with, I never meant
- 48:28Speaker 1: to give you mushrooms, girl.
- 48:29Speaker 5: Listen, around that time, I was really into... That was
- 48:33Speaker 5: my jam.
- 48:34Speaker 4: That shit is banging too, though. That shit is banging too.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Ain't nobody mad at that.
- 48:38Speaker 5: Britney Spears' circus was really heavy.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Ain't nobody mad at that.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Did you guys hear, speaking of that Donald and I
- 48:44Speaker 2: are introducing... I don't know if we're supposed to talk
- 48:47Speaker 2: about this.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Wait, what?
- 48:49Speaker 2: So, Donald and I got asked to, via Zoom, because
- 48:53Speaker 2: it's fucking the apocalypse, be a part of the iHeart Awards.
- 48:58Speaker 2: What do they call it?
- 48:58Speaker 5: The iHeart Music Awards?
- 49:01Speaker 2: Yeah, iHeart Music Awards. And Donald and I are introducing * * * *,
- 49:05Speaker 2: and we need the fans' help thinking of how we
- 49:08Speaker 2: should best introduce * * * *. I think it'd
- 49:09Speaker 2: be good if it was an inside joke, or maybe, Donald,
- 49:11Speaker 2: you dance, because you dance so well. I got an idea,
- 49:14Speaker 2: I got an idea. it would be like this it
- 49:15Speaker 2: would be like this next artist needs no introduction but
- 49:19Speaker 2: to give you a hint Donald and I are both
- 49:21Speaker 2: going to do one of his signature dance moves right
- 49:24Speaker 2: and then Donald you do some insane fucking move and
- 49:27Speaker 2: then I'm like here I go and then I'm like
- 49:28Speaker 2: no psych I'm not trying to do that and then he.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Does it no I don't do that because then you're
- 49:33Speaker 1: making me dance and then we're back at that little
- 49:35Speaker 1: whole conversation that we had before about how the West
- 49:37Speaker 1: Wing didn't make Dulé Hill dance.
- 49:39Speaker 2: I know, but you're such a good dancer. And I
- 49:42Speaker 2: wish the West Wing had made you Lael Dan. Slappy
- 49:46Speaker 2: Bag is your nickname that I've given you in this episode,
- 49:50Speaker 2: which is hilarious. I have no idea where it comes from.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Why am I Slappy Bags?
- 49:53Speaker 2: I don't know. I assume we were out and everyone
- 49:55Speaker 2: got hammered. You weren't invited for some reason, and I
- 49:57Speaker 2: made up nicknames for everybody.
- 49:58Speaker 4: And you go Slappy Bags.
- 50:00Speaker 2: And I go, you're Slappy Bag. And you walk off
- 50:03Speaker 2: and I go, Slappy Bag.
- 50:05Speaker 1: But the fact that you go, the fact that you
- 50:07Speaker 1: said to all of the guys, yo, and Turk is
- 50:09Speaker 1: Slappy Bags.
- 50:10Speaker 4: And everybody goes, oh, I totally see it. He's totally
- 50:12Speaker 4: Slappy Bags.
- 50:13Speaker 1: That's some bullshit, dude.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Now, the first time a janitor ever talks to Cox
- 50:18Speaker 2: is in this episode, speaking of big things that happen.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Cox even asks, who are you?
- 50:23Speaker 2: He goes, who the hell are you? And he goes,
- 50:24Speaker 2: I'm just a man with a saw. By the way,
- 50:26Speaker 2: they gave Neil no storyline. Neil's entire storyline in this
- 50:28Speaker 2: episode is that he has a saw. This might have
- 50:32Speaker 2: been gotten to the point in the writer's room where
- 50:34Speaker 2: they're like, I don't know, just fucking give Neil a
- 50:36Speaker 2: cordless saw. It'll be funny and he'll make up shit.
- 50:39Speaker 4: Dude, the fact that, right.
- 50:40Speaker 2: He has no storyline. His storyline is that he has
- 50:43Speaker 2: a saw.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Right, and at one point he contemplates cutting his thumb
- 50:46Speaker 1: off because he has nothing to do with the saw.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he cuts my arm off and it
- 50:49Speaker 2: bleeds out.
- 50:50Speaker 4: Right, right, right.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Appletini. I mean, talking about momentous moments, the first time
- 50:56Speaker 2: I ordered an Appletini, easy on the teeny.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Easy on the teeny. Is this the first time we
- 51:00Speaker 1: ever hear that J.D.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Yes, this is the very first time that J.D. orders
- 51:04Speaker 2: an appletini. Because you're highlighting that I'm a dork and
- 51:09Speaker 2: I should just embrace it and and not try and
- 51:12Speaker 2: be something that I'm not. Everyone in this episode, as
- 51:15Speaker 2: we said, is sort of like struggling with trying to
- 51:18Speaker 2: be something that they aren't.
- 51:20Speaker 6: And and and and.
- 51:24Speaker 2: And so my character, you're coaching me, just be who
- 51:26Speaker 2: you are. And then I'm like, okay, Appletini, easy on
- 51:29Speaker 2: the teeny.
- 51:31Speaker 1: There's a BBD shout out, which made me happy. Anything
- 51:34Speaker 1: new edition always makes me happy. One of my favorite
- 51:37Speaker 1: things growing up was new edition. I don't think Sarah
- 51:41Speaker 1: knew the song Poison at this point. That girl is poison. Yeah,
- 51:45Speaker 1: because of the way she sings it. It doesn't sound
- 51:48Speaker 1: like she knows it.
- 51:49Speaker 2: She's like, that girl is poison. Not the melody?
- 51:52Speaker 1: No, but she's kind of unsure, whereas Judy is like,
- 51:56Speaker 1: the song goes poison, and they do it kind of slow.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but Judy can really sing, whereas Sarah breaks glasses
- 52:03Speaker 2: when Daryl Hannah says her name.
- 52:05Speaker 1: No, but I think Judy actually knew the song. Well,
- 52:07Speaker 1: maybe Sarah knew the song. I don't know.
- 52:08Speaker 4: I don't know that. Never trust a.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I don't know if never trust a big butt and
- 52:11Speaker 1: a smile was in Sarah's vocabulary. I'm just putting it
- 52:14Speaker 1: out there.
- 52:15Speaker 2: I have always trusted a big butt and a smile,
- 52:17Speaker 2: and it's gotten me in a lot of trouble. All right,
- 52:19Speaker 2: on that note, we need to take a break, right?
- 52:21Speaker 2: Our caller is here.
- 52:22Speaker 1: We'll be back.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Lauren, are you excited? You're going to experience the caller.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Maybe the caller will have a question for Lauren. We
- 52:28Speaker 2: don't know. We don't know what's going to happen. But
- 52:31Speaker 2: thank you, everybody, for being here, and we'll be right back.
- 52:41Speaker 1: And we're back, and it looks like it is a hospital.
- 52:44Speaker 2: You're not going to be able to handle that last name, Donald.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Don't try it. What's happening here?
- 52:50Speaker 1: Tiffany Delilah Halsey.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Tiffany.
- 52:53Speaker 9: Delilah Halsey.
- 52:58Speaker 5: I'm hoping there hasn't been some kind of emergency.
- 53:01Speaker 6: Oh, there's probably an emergency. I have a feeling they
- 53:03Speaker 6: got up to make a coffee.
- 53:05Speaker 2: No, Joelle brought on someone who works in the hospital,
- 53:08Speaker 2: and they ran to an emergency. There's nobody there.
- 53:10Speaker 5: It's a cardiologist.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Hey, hey, hey, you.
- 53:12Speaker 6: Tiffany.
- 53:13Speaker 8: You, wait.
- 53:13Speaker 9: Tiffany.
- 53:14Speaker 4: This is amazing.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Tiffany. Oh, my God. For those of you who can't see, obviously,
- 53:19Speaker 2: we're looking at what looks like an empty room. Oh,
- 53:21Speaker 2: my gosh. A woman just walked by. Joelle, this is
- 53:24Speaker 2: not a shining moment.
- 53:25Speaker 6: If only she knew what's on the computer screen behind her.
- 53:28Speaker 2: She's not connecting to her audio.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Audio.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what's concerning me.
- 53:31Speaker 6: It doesn't even look like they're there.
- 53:33Speaker 5: Guess if it's in your headphones?
- 53:35Speaker 2: Hold on. Let me just. Lauren, I want you to know. Hey,
- 53:38Speaker 2: there we go.
- 53:39Speaker 6: Hi.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Tiffany.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Tiffany. We're waving to her. I don't even think that's her.
- 53:45Speaker 2: This is amazing.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Are you Tiffany?
- 53:48Speaker 2: She can't even hear us.
- 53:50Speaker 5: This is the best.
- 53:51Speaker 4: You, frozen lady who's not moving.
- 53:55Speaker 2: She's in scrubs.
- 53:56Speaker 4: Well, she didn't help us.
- 53:57Speaker 2: She's in scrubs. Please go get Tiffany. Come back.
- 54:00Speaker 6: She's just like staring at the computer like, what's going on?
- 54:03Speaker 2: Her vibe is very, her vibe is very, where the
- 54:06Speaker 2: fuck is Tiffany?
- 54:07Speaker 5: Is that really Zach Braff and Donald Faison? I don't know.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Well, we don't know. We don't know what's happening. She
- 54:12Speaker 2: looks concerned.
- 54:12Speaker 6: She's sitting there going, is that Joelle Monique?
- 54:16Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 54:16Speaker 2: Hi.
- 54:17Speaker 4: There we go.
- 54:18Speaker 9: Hey. Hi.
- 54:19Speaker 2: Turn on your audio. Where's Tiffany? Tiffany. Tiffany. Hi, Tiffany.
- 54:24Speaker 7: Hi.
- 54:26Speaker 3: Hi.
- 54:27Speaker 6: Oh, my gosh.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Did an emergency happen? Yeah, I know.
- 54:33Speaker 8: We're in clinic.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Where are you? What's going on? Hey, Tiffany, where are you?
- 54:36Speaker 4: Where are you?
- 54:37Speaker 8: I'm at work.
- 54:39Speaker 1: But where at work are you two?
- 54:40Speaker 8: We're in Lafayette, Louisiana.
- 54:44Speaker 2: Wow, love it.
- 54:45Speaker 4: But you're in what state?
- 54:47Speaker 8: Louisiana. No, no, no, no.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Do it out there so everybody can hear that you
- 54:52Speaker 1: are not working right now.
- 54:54Speaker 9: We're supposed to be saying happy birthday.
- 54:56Speaker 5: To Eric Thomas-y.
- 54:58Speaker 8: Yes, he just walked into a patient's room.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Are you guys dealing with crazy COVID shit right now?
- 55:05Speaker 9: Um....
- 55:09Speaker 8: We're over it.
- 55:10Speaker 1: You guys are over it. I hear that. I thought
- 55:14Speaker 1: you had a beard and mustache with your mask because
- 55:16Speaker 1: it's black. It looked like you had a beard and mustache.
- 55:20Speaker 1: That's so funny.
- 55:22Speaker 2: So wait, Tiffany.
- 55:23Speaker 8: I got this little emblem, little heart.
- 55:25Speaker 2: You know.
- 55:27Speaker 8: Nice.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Tiffany, is this a surprise for somebody?
- 55:30Speaker 8: It was, but it didn't work out that way.
- 55:34Speaker 7: Okay.
- 55:35Speaker 2: So do you have a question for us, or do
- 55:36Speaker 2: you have to run off and work? Are you a
- 55:39Speaker 2: nurse or a doctor? I can't tell what's happening over there.
- 55:42Speaker 8: No, I mean, I got a second.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Okay.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Tell us a little bit about yourself, Tiffany. Well, Tiffany,
- 55:49Speaker 2: do you have a question for us, or is there
- 55:52Speaker 2: any aspect of your life that needs fixing?
- 55:53Speaker 4: We have Lauren from E!
- 55:54Speaker 1: News on with us also.
- 55:56Speaker 2: We have a very fancy reporter here who can also
- 55:58Speaker 2: answer questions.
- 55:59Speaker 1: So, Tiffany, you're also on E! News right now. I
- 56:01Speaker 1: bet you didn't know that.
- 56:04Speaker 8: No, I mean, we were wondering.
- 56:07Speaker 3: We were talking about the relationships between you guys, and
- 56:12Speaker 3: so how did y'all keep that straight, because.
- 56:15Speaker 8: Even watching the episodes now, y'all are very, very close. Like,
- 56:21Speaker 8: how do y'all... When.
- 56:23Speaker 1: You say, how do we keep that straight, do you mean, like,
- 56:25Speaker 1: how do we not slip over into being... Gay?
- 56:29Speaker 9: Gay?
- 56:30Speaker 8: Well, no, not y'all, but just, like....
- 56:33Speaker 2: I mean, no, but.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Between, you know, between Sarah and all the other characters
- 56:39Speaker 3: that come on... When you all spend a lot of
- 56:42Speaker 3: time together, you get close, and you're behind the scene.
- 56:45Speaker 4: Oh, no, girl.
- 56:47Speaker 1: Come on. Okay, so I learned a long time ago,
- 56:49Speaker 1: never shit where you eat. We don't kiss and tell. Yeah, well,
- 56:53Speaker 1: not only that, never shit where you eat, and that
- 56:56Speaker 1: can cause a lot of problems. Is that what goes on? Tiffany,
- 56:59Speaker 1: is that what goes on at the.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Hospital that you work at? Tiffany, is there lots of
- 57:01Speaker 2: romance going on at your hospital?
- 57:03Speaker 4: At your hospital right now?
- 57:05Speaker 3: Oh, you know. Yeah.
- 57:10Speaker 8: There's a secret code, but, you know.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Because we were told when we were training to do
- 57:16Speaker 2: the TV show that lots of doctors and nurses and
- 57:19Speaker 2: people in the hospital, they're there late nights, lots of
- 57:21Speaker 2: romances occur.
- 57:23Speaker 7: Yes.
- 57:24Speaker 8: It's rumored to happen.
- 57:27Speaker 1: It didn't happen much on our show. There weren't a
- 57:32Speaker 1: lot of romances and.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Except for those stunt people that fell in love.
- 57:35Speaker 4: Yeah, some people that fell in love. The sound department and.
- 57:38Speaker 1: The grip department got married. They have kids now. Teddy and... Aw.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. One of our boom-ops fell in love
- 57:46Speaker 2: with one of our grip guys. That's that famous video, right?
- 57:48Speaker 1: Yes.
- 57:49Speaker 4: That is that famous video.
- 57:50Speaker 2: Love that video. We're part of the proposal.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I love that. There are relationships that have gone on
- 57:56Speaker 1: to become... Yeah, that have started from.
- 58:01Speaker 1: That have started from the work environment that we had
- 58:03Speaker 1: at Scrubs. But as far as me, Zach, Sarah, Judy,
- 58:11Speaker 1: Zach's my brother. I don't want to necessarily hold on
- 58:14Speaker 1: to him.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I occasionally caught feelings. I caught feelings for you.
- 58:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but we never took it to the next level.
- 58:20Speaker 1: We kept it as.
- 58:21Speaker 2: No, because we don't shit where we eat.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Right, we don't shit where we eat.
- 58:24Speaker 4: We kept it as you, my buddy.
- 58:26Speaker 2: Now, Tiffany, I think you might be a good candidate
- 58:30Speaker 2: to have us fix your life because this is a
- 58:32Speaker 2: very new segment that we do on the podcast.
- 58:35Speaker 4: And we've got Lauren from E!
- 58:36Speaker 1: News with us. She is eager to fix your life.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Now, Tiffany, anything in your life that's going on, it
- 58:45Speaker 2: could be a relationship issue, it could be anything that
- 58:50Speaker 2: you need help with, we are here and we're going
- 58:52Speaker 2: to give you advice and fix it for you right now.
- 58:57Speaker 2: It could be Something big or small. Donald and I
- 59:01Speaker 2: are trained fake doctors. And we have Lauren here, who's
- 59:07Speaker 2: very smart. Oh, wait.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:10Speaker 4: Is it your birthday today?
- 59:12Speaker 6: Yesterday, but thanks.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Happy birthday!
- 59:17Speaker 1: The big what?
- 59:17Speaker 2: Happy birthday.
- 59:18Speaker 1: 4-0.
- 59:19Speaker 2: You're 40?
- 59:20Speaker 6: Congratulations.
- 59:21Speaker 4: Congratulations, Junior.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Thank you. In the words of Stevie Wonder, happy birthday
- 59:26Speaker 1: to you.
- 59:27Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, he's good.
- 59:28Speaker 4: Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday.
- 59:34Speaker 2: What's going on over there? What type of medical establishment
- 59:38Speaker 2: are you guys all working in?
- 59:41Speaker 1: This is a cardiology clinic.
- 59:43Speaker 2: Oh, I see. So when you had to go see
- 59:46Speaker 2: a patient, that person really needed some attention. It wasn't
- 59:49Speaker 2: like you guys are.
- 59:51Speaker 9: You know.
- 59:51Speaker 6: Well, some of these are just follow-ups.
- 59:53Speaker 1: They come back, you know, once a year, check on things,
- 59:57Speaker 1: preventative stuff.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Well, listen, we've gotten to the point of the show
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: where we want to fix one of your guys' lives. Tiffany,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: do you have something you need fixing or maybe one
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: of your friends?
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Where to start? No, I mean, we just, school just
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: started over here. So that's my main big stressor right now.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Just trying to get the kids.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Do you guys all have children?
- 1:00:24Speaker 8: Well, yeah.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: And you guys are all having to deal with daycare
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: while you're away. Yeah, that was a.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Huge stressor because we had babysitters falling through and, you know,
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: still got to come to work and.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you guys are all essential workers also, so
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: there's that.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: How old are your kids, Tiffany?
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: Mine are 10 and 7.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: And are they able to attend school in person these days? Yes.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: Oh, so they're going to school. So that helps then,
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: doesn't it?
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Do what?
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: So that helps then, doesn't it?
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: It is now. But it wasn't like that for a while.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: So what were you guys doing to.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: To combat uh you know not having i mean we.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Had multiple babysitters i went through three of them so
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: wow just or you go to daycare they still had
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: daycares open and so it's just whatever you can.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Do that's really hard and and how do you feel
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: um because you're in the medical profession with them being
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: back at school do you do you are you does
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: that make you anxious or do you feel that um
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: that they'll be safe there or the precautions that the
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: school is taking enough?
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: I mean, I hope I'm hoping, but you know, we
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: like Natalie said, we're all over everything.
- 1:01:46Speaker 8: We're ready for it to be over. We just want
- 1:01:49Speaker 8: to get back to normal life.
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: Well, that's tough.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: You in the medical profession, you guys all know how
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: difficult that's going to be to get back to normal.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: There'll be a new normal. I think, I don't necessarily
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: think there'll be what it was before. But, yeah, no,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: I hear you. I imagine it's a relief to have
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: the kids back in school and not have to worry
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: about who's taking care of them while you're at work.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: I mean, it's a worry, but we'll just have to see.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: You were legit in your closet.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Where did you think I was when I said that
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I was? Well, I don't know.
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: I mean, this has been going on for a long time.
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: I figured you'd get a new spot by now, but.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: It doesn't work that fast. I wish it worked that fast.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I wish life moved that fast. I wish people were like,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I wish money came to people that quick. I wish
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: that life was that way.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:02:45Speaker 10: No.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: No.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Well, Tiffany, you can't beat the sound quality that comes
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: out of Donald's walk-in closet. It sounds great. Rich and warm.
- 1:02:55Speaker 8: That's true. That is true.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Do you want to introduce your friends that you got
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: with you right now?
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Yes, what's happening? I have to say, I grew up
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: watching Scrubs when I was in medical school.
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: And so it was a good relief.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: We'd sit around, all of us, and watch it and
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: see the ups and downs.
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: And so I have all these new.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: young, 20-some-year-old employees, so we make them watch Scrubs here
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: so they understand.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: We appreciate that.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: They're not the fans. You're really the fan.
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: Well, I mean, I grew up watching it, but I
- 1:03:33Speaker 8: was 12 when it came out.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: You make me feel so young.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: So we're Donald and I.
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Well, I don't know that we can fix your life
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: because that's a problem you brought up. Donald, this might
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: be the first time we're not able to fix someone's life.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I think we did fix our life. I'm going to
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: be honest with you.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: How do we fix it? Why? We just talked to
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: her about her conundrum with her children going to school.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that right there was enough for
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: her to be like, I feel better about it all,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: and my life is fixed.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. So Tiffany, you're welcome, Tiffany. You're welcome, Tiffany.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: You're welcome. You're welcome, Tiffany.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: Thunderous applause, Dan. All right, well, we got to get going.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Thank you guys for coming on the show. I'm glad
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: we were able to fix all of your lives, and
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: happy birthday.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: Thank you for all that you do.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: All right, thanks.
- 1:04:20Speaker 6: Y'all stay safe.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Bye, guys.
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: Take care.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I don't know about that one, Joelle. I think that
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: was a bit of a disaster, Joelle.
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: I'm so sorry.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: I thought we were going to say happy birthday. That woman,
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: with all due respect, she seemed legitimately bothered and annoyed
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: to be having to talk to us.
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: I'm going to go with if they were shy and
- 1:04:39Speaker 9: maybe a little overwhelmed to be in your celebrity presence.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: She kept doing this, Joelle.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: I mean, Joelle.
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: I will try harder.
- 1:04:52Speaker 9: Doctors, let's work on getting a time when your schedules
- 1:04:54Speaker 9: are actually okay.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Well, no, but she had nothing prepared. She didn't really
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: have a question other than did we all sleep with
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: each other? That's what she.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: Was going for.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: She was wondering who got down with who.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: Yeah. And then, you know, she didn't really have anything
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: that we could fix because we can't fix Corona, sadly.
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: If only we could.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: If only.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Oh, dude. We'll be better next week.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: We've got good stuff lined up for you.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: Hey, so J.D.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Walking down the hall saying hi to everyone after becoming popular,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: after throwing J.D., after throwing Turk under the bus. You
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: know what that reminds me of? What? Can't Buy Me Love.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: I've never seen Can't Buy Me Love. Don't be mad
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: at me.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: You've never seen Can't Buy... No, don't be mad at me.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: Have any of you guys seen Can't Buy Me Love?
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Yes. Cindy Mancini?
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Lauren, have you seen it?
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Anyway, it's about a kid who becomes popular after he
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: pays the most popular girl in school to go out
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: with him, right? Right. And the day... So she agrees
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: to do it and they date for one month. And
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: at the end of the month, he's so popular and
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: they agree at the end of the month that they
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: break up, right? But he's so popular at this point
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: that she's kind of caught feelings for him. The school
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: really likes him. So they break up and she says
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: to him, you know, just whatever you do, Be yourself
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: tomorrow because you're now this infamous single guy. You're now
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: this famous single guy in high school. And he walks
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: into the school acting exactly like JD. That's right. I'm here.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: What's up, Big Sac?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Oh, let me give you some high five. Oh, my dude.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: And giving everybody hugs. And he has his own handshake
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: with everyone and everything like that now. And it was
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: that moment that JD, when watching this, I was like,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: holy shit. JD, for popularity, becomes the biggest asshole. on
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: the planet just to be popular.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: He's willing to make it.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: It went to his head. It went to his head
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: real quick. Like that. All he needed was somebody to say,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: oh shit, you're not the weakest link in this group.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Turk is the weakest link because he liked dance.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Yeah. You know?
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: And then it ends. It's funny you mentioned an 80s
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: movie because it reminded me at the end of 16
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Candles when Anthony Michael Hall is like king of the nerds.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: Is it John Cusack?
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: In his band, in his group, it's him.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Yeah, he's like nerd posse. Yeah, he's like Tim of
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: the Dorks.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: It's him, John Cusack, and one other dude, yeah.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and then, like, when the episode ends with, like,
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Johnny Castle asking me for my nasal spray, and we
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: did this shot. Actually, it was funny. I was sitting
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: on the dolly. I remember they were like, how are
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: we going to get him to just levitate? And, you know,
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: the camera dolly we put the camera on has a
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: silent hydraulic lift to it so you can raise the
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: camera silently. And I just sat, I remember they put
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: like a little cushion on it, and I just sat
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: on the end of the dolly as I rise up,
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: and I'm like, I am king of the dorks, or
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: whatever it was. And it reminded me of that moment
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: in 16 Candles where Anthony Michael Hall is sort of
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: like king of the nerds.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Anthony Michael Hall is the king of the nerds
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: in 16 Candles for some horrible reasons, but we won't
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: get into that. Let's also talk about J.K., and who's
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: the guy helping J.K. when they're moving Kelso's office? Who
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: was the other guy? Because he was with us for
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: the first time.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: I forgot his name, but he was another regular. Yeah.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: And also, did you notice when there's a shot in the,
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: when Aloma is, when everyone's sort of looking at Kelso's
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: portrait that says he's dead now, there was a shot
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: of a bunch of our regulars. You had Mick Head
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: and you had Deontay.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: And there was somebody else I wrote down. Oh, yeah. Well, Aloma, obviously,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: but there was like a whole bunch of our regulars there.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Mickhead getting more and more screen time as the show evolves.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Mickhead turns out to be one of Bill's assassins for
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: this episode. He always came through with the right way
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: of saying his jokes and his lines were all– he
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: never overdid it.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Not for this episode. You said for this episode.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: You mean Oh, for the series. I'm sorry, for the series.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: He becomes... Just for all of the fans out there
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: who've watched the show, just watch how much more screen
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: time Mickhead gets as he's introduced as Mickhead. He just...
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: You know, Frank was one of those guys that never
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: overcooked it and he never undercooked it. He always stayed
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: on point. And so now is the time you'll start
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: seeing him more and more in the show from from
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: this moment on. All right.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: That's the show, gang. I think we did it. I
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: think I think Lauren had I mean, Lauren, is it
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: safe to say that you had an enjoyable experience?
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: Yeah, this is amazing.
- 1:09:37Speaker 7: It felt like I was watching the podcast and I
- 1:09:39Speaker 7: kept forgetting that I was like.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: It's an interactive podcast, Lauren. No, we're glad you're here,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: and thank you to our amazing producer, Joelle, and of course, Daniel,
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: even though, you know, Joelle is allowed to misfire with
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: a guest every now and then, guys. I'm sorry. Let's
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: not rag it on Joelle.
- 1:09:59Speaker 6: How is it Joelle's fault that the guests were unprepared?
- 1:10:01Speaker 6: I'm sure they've been emailing her nonstop on some stuff.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: I meant that I felt like that woman would have
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: had no different attitude if she was taking one of
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: those DMV courses where you've gotten too many points and
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: you have to, like, go through the fucking checklist.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: I feel like when the doctor said, when the guy said,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: I grew up on Scrubs and I make everybody watch it,
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: she was one of those people that he makes watch
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: the show.
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: That's what I honestly believe.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: That's the honest to goodness truth.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: I feel like she was... I don't mean that everyone
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: has to be effusive and excited to be on the show,
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: but it's hard to get on the show. Joelle fields
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: hundreds of emails... I think when we finally pick someone,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: they should at least seem 70% interested in being on
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: the show.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: I will say this. No mug for her. No mug
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: for her.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: No mug for her.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: You know what? You know what? In fact, Joelle, pick
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: up a mug and smash it on the ground.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: This could have been yours, Tiffany, but.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: You blew it. Not only are we not sending her
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: a mug, Joelle, I want what would have been her
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: mug smashed on the ground. Oh, my God. I'm on it.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: And then, Joelle, I want you to take one of
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: those fake doctors, real friends masks and burn it. And
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: just burn it in your fireplace. Oh, my gosh. Good Lord.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: We're not going to waste good PPE. Oh, wait till
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: you guys hear the fucking merch we have coming. We
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: have beach towels coming. We have washcloths coming. All sorts
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: of shit.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: We're talking about wrapping paper. How great would it be
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: this Christmas, this Hanukkah.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: This freaking- Wrap yourself in us.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: This Kwanzaa.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: To wrap your present for your family members, this Rosh Hashanah,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: to wrap.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: We don't give presents on Rosh Hashanah, Tom.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: You don't?
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: But no, you can stick with it.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: What about Ramadan?
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Do they give presents on Ramadan?
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: I don't know about Ramadan.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: I don't know either. But the show's over, so we're
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: not going to make Joelle Google that.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: We really need to get up on our religious holidays.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Amen. Amen. Amen.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: Listen, I played Toby Sebastian on here, one show, number
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: one lover, and everybody loved it. Got such great feedback.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: And so I thought we'd play another jam, another hot
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: jam by Toby Sebastian called Train to Mexico. Really good song.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: And it's on my workout playlist and on my party playlist.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: And I think you guys will really like it. So
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: thank you, everybody. Lauren, thank you for being here. Daniel, Joelle,
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: you rule as always. Donald, I miss you so much.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: I can't wait to watch you swim in person and
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: not on my security camera.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Zach, you know, when you come home, of course you
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: have to bubble for a little bit because of your
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: travel and all of that stuff. But I can't wait
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: till we are back in a bubble together again.
