- 0:19Speaker 1: Good Monday morning, welcome into our This is the Life
- 0:22Speaker 1: podcast this morning as we get ready for our devotion time.
- 0:25Speaker 1: As always, I always start out on Monday morning hoping
- 0:28Speaker 1: that you had a great weekend, hoping that the Lord
- 0:31Speaker 1: showed you some great revelation this past weekend, whether it
- 0:34Speaker 1: be at church services yesterday or just family time as
- 0:39Speaker 1: we start this week we all have most of us
- 0:43Speaker 1: begin our day or a week some kind of plan
- 0:46Speaker 1: some kind of agenda I was thinking about this this
- 0:49Speaker 1: past week of the things you know I kind of
- 0:51Speaker 1: need to get accomplished this week and the Lord just
- 0:53Speaker 1: kind of really reminded me of something very special I'd
- 0:56Speaker 1: like to share with you this morning because we know
- 0:59Speaker 1: where we want to where we need to go or
- 1:00Speaker 1: where we want to go this this week we to
- 1:04Speaker 1: have things we want to accomplish, how we believe everything
- 1:07Speaker 1: should unfold. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong
- 1:11Speaker 1: with making plans. In fact, planning is Scripture. It's biblical,
- 1:16Speaker 1: and it's a sign of wisdom. But we must always
- 1:19Speaker 1: leave room for God to interrupt our plans. That's what
- 1:23Speaker 1: He wants to speak to us this morning. Nothing wrong
- 1:25Speaker 1: with plans, but you need to be versatile enough to
- 1:28Speaker 1: know that any time this day or this week, The
- 1:33Speaker 1: Lord has the supreme authority to interrupt the plans that
- 1:38Speaker 1: you have made. In Proverbs chapter 16 and verse number 9,
- 1:43Speaker 1: the Word of God says, A man's heart devises his ways,
- 1:47Speaker 1: but the Lord directs his path. An interruption can sometimes
- 1:53Speaker 1: feel frustrating because what it does, it changes your schedule
- 1:57Speaker 1: and it takes away your sense of control if you're
- 2:00Speaker 1: not careful. Maybe it's a conversation that changes the whole
- 2:04Speaker 1: direction of your day. Maybe it's something you were counting
- 2:07Speaker 1: on and it doesn't happen or someone needs your help
- 2:10Speaker 1: when you had planned on doing something entirely different. Our
- 2:14Speaker 1: first reaction sometimes is maybe we see these moments as
- 2:18Speaker 1: obstacles in our lives. But this morning think about this.
- 2:22Speaker 1: What if some of those what we perceive as obstacles
- 2:27Speaker 1: are actually divine redirections and appointments from God? Proverbs tells
- 2:32Speaker 1: us that we may devise our way, but the Lord
- 2:37Speaker 1: directs our steps. See, we see the schedule. God sees
- 2:42Speaker 1: the entire journey. We see what we wanted to accomplish today.
- 2:47Speaker 1: God sees what we need to accomplish today. And they're
- 2:51Speaker 1: not always the same thing. Maybe He's preparing us for
- 2:56Speaker 1: what is coming tomorrow. Sometimes He changes your direction because
- 3:01Speaker 1: He is trying to protect you from something you can't
- 3:04Speaker 1: see yet. Other times He is repositioning you for an
- 3:09Speaker 1: opportunity you never could have planned on yourself. That's the
- 3:13Speaker 1: power of God interrupting our lives for a purpose. There
- 3:18Speaker 1: are also moments when God interrupts our plans because someone
- 3:22Speaker 1: needs what He has placed within us to give. The
- 3:26Speaker 1: encouraging words, that you did not plan to give, God
- 3:31Speaker 1: may be wanting you to give that today. Maybe it's
- 3:34Speaker 1: a conversation you never seem to make time for that
- 3:37Speaker 1: you know God is wanting you to have with someone.
- 3:41Speaker 1: God will interrupt your plans to make sure that is
- 3:44Speaker 1: accomplished in His due season. Maybe it's a person whose
- 3:49Speaker 1: path you cross unexpectedly and it becomes the most meaningful
- 3:53Speaker 1: part of your day. That's what I love about divine appointments.
- 3:56Speaker 1: You don't see them coming But you walk away from
- 3:59Speaker 1: them so blessed because they did come. Jesus, if you
- 4:04Speaker 1: look at his example that he set for us through
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Gospels. Jesus often allowed interruptions to become opportunities. He
- 4:11Speaker 1: stopped for the blind. He listened to the broken. He
- 4:14Speaker 1: welcomed children. He responded to people that others would consider
- 4:18Speaker 1: an inconvenience. All while on his way to other places.
- 4:24Speaker 1: See what appeared to be an interruption. was often the
- 4:28Speaker 1: very place where God's purpose was revealed. And it's the
- 4:32Speaker 1: same way in our lives. Perhaps we should not be
- 4:36Speaker 1: so quick to become frustrated when the day does not
- 4:40Speaker 1: go according to our plan. Today, just pause and ask, Lord,
- 4:47Speaker 1: what are you doing in this moment? What do you
- 4:51Speaker 1: want me to see? Is there something I should be
- 4:54Speaker 1: noticing right now? Is there someone you want me to help?
- 4:59Speaker 1: Are you leading me in a different direction for a reason?
- 5:03Speaker 1: These are important questions to ask when you feel like
- 5:07Speaker 1: something is an interruption into your schedule. Make your plans today,
- 5:13Speaker 1: but hold them with open hands. Trust God enough to
- 5:17Speaker 1: let Him rearrange the schedule, redirect the journey, and yes,
- 5:23Speaker 1: even close the doors of When they need to be closed.
- 5:27Speaker 1: The interruption you are resisting. That may be the very
- 5:32Speaker 1: thing God uses to protect you today. Position you today.
- 5:37Speaker 1: And lead you into something better today. So when God
- 5:41Speaker 1: interrupts your plans. And he will. Do not immediately assume
- 5:46Speaker 1: that something has gone wrong with your schedule. He may
- 5:50Speaker 1: be redirecting your steps. Towards something you could not yet see.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Something even greater than you could have ever planned. So
- 6:00Speaker 1: today be safe. Be strong and be blessed. Hold your
- 6:05Speaker 1: schedule with open hands. Be ready to release what needs
- 6:10Speaker 1: to be released. So you can receive what needs to
- 6:15Speaker 1: be received. Lord's will will see you back here again tomorrow.
- 6:20Speaker 1: And until then, I sure hope you have a great day.
