Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: All right, welcome back Floor to sports network.
- 0:13Speaker 1: On a Wednesday we got a lot of games to pick.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Not that many good ones.
- 0:22Speaker 1: There's a couple out there in the pack 12, especially there's a big one Before we get there.
- 0:28Speaker 1: We got Jimmy Reno and talk about some FSU.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Kitty poop.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah, some more recruiting to get to from what was, you know, huge weekend.
- 0:43Speaker 1: It was a big game, had a lot of visitors at Dope Campbell sat Saturday.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We talked about it last time A little bit with the receiver.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Jeremiah Smith.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yes, jeremiah Smith and his visit.
- 1:01Speaker 1: He's committed to Ohio State but you know, you never know.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you never know, florida State put themselves right in the thick of it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: About a month to go until National Signing Day, the early, early signing day.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Well, there's also been.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Did Florida lose another commitment?
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yeah, they did.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Florida just saw defensive linemen Nas Johnson flip to the dogs.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Oh man.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the third decommissionment in the last two or three days.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah, they're treading water right now, man trying to Trying to salvage what they can.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Right, still a good class.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Still is a good class.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You know, there's.
- 1:46Speaker 2: There's a month left before early signing day.
- 1:49Speaker 2: They were sitting at number three nationally.
- 1:53Speaker 2: They've fallen back a little bit.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Unfortunately.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Where do they rank right now?
- 2:00Speaker 2: I don't even know if they've they've computed it yet these things are so recent, and there is.
- 2:06Speaker 2: You know there's a lot of chatter that that's not done either.
- 2:09Speaker 2: You know they may see one or two guys defect within the next day.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Speculate, Speculate, Right.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I'm going to speculate a little bit.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Speculation, speculation, speculation, great song.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So what I'm speculating on is I really think Billy Napier will be coaching for his job.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just going to take a stab in the dark.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Whoa, nobody else seems to agree with me.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Really no it's too soon.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I don't know If the recruiting class falls apart, you're saying.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Would that be?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 2: But you know I don't think they're going to beat Missouri on the road.
- 2:55Speaker 2: We'll get to that, yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 2: So you're looking at bowl eligibility and you know, just any kind of positivity to end the season is out the window.
- 3:06Speaker 2: And now it's no longer really about just keeping the recruiting class intact, because that's not going to happen.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I mean, you're still going to have a decent class.
- 3:14Speaker 2: They got to hold on to the QB, to DJ Lagway.
- 3:17Speaker 2: That's what it all comes down to.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So you're hinging all of your hopes for your coach and for the future of your program on a high school quarterback coming in and being the future.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So I don't know, man, I don't know.
- 3:32Speaker 2: My speculation is that this game in Gainesville is going to pretty much everything is going to be on the line.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And you're right, man, it may be too soon.
- 3:41Speaker 2: They may not fire him, but he definitely goes into next season as, for all intents and purposes, it's just, you know, a lame duck coach.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Anyway, back to Florida State yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Kitty pool Right.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So they currently sit third nationally.
- 4:02Speaker 2: They've inherited that number three spot behind Georgia and Ohio State.
- 4:06Speaker 2: There is a hypothetical scenario that they could catch Ohio State Now.
- 4:14Speaker 2: They'd have to get some really, really fortunate twists and turns in the recruiting universe, but it's possible.
- 4:23Speaker 2: You know, step number one would be landing Jeremiah Smith.
- 4:26Speaker 2: They've definitely, you know.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I personally I don't see him going anywhere else than Ohio State because you know that's what top receivers do right now.
- 4:35Speaker 2: But I've already raised the floor, yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Exceptional yeah, but you know high school talent and and I you still have the transfer portal.
- 4:43Speaker 1: You're going to be an attraction.
- 4:45Speaker 1: You're going to be able to go out there and choose, but what do you?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Got on the high school ranks.
- 4:50Speaker 2: High school ranks I they're still looking to add another defensive back.
- 4:54Speaker 2: You know they got a commitment out of Jamari Howard.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Get out of Miami.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I think he plays at Norland High School.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I mean he's the top 100.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Recruiting Kind of a boomer bust prospect.
- 5:04Speaker 2: He's not as physical as you want out of your defensive backs but he's got top end speed and his length is.
- 5:12Speaker 2: You know he's a legit six to so you can turn him into a lockdown guy out there, even if he he's not the strongest tackler, big pickup but they still want to get.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You know they want numbers in the secondary.
- 5:25Speaker 2: They're looking at Ky Bates, recent D commitment from LSU I I you know there's a really good chance that he may end up in the class.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Lj McCray is still out there.
- 5:34Speaker 2: He spent the last couple of days.
- 5:36Speaker 2: That's Florida commitment.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's another.
- 5:38Speaker 2: That's another Florida commitment.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I think that's a little bit more unlikely.
- 5:45Speaker 2: The big, you know they're still swinging.
- 5:47Speaker 2: They're still swinging.
- 5:47Speaker 2: The biggest news is that all of the you know the top commitments you have in your class right now seem to pretty much be showing off the top commitments you have in your class right now seem to pretty much be shutting things down and set to enroll early.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Charles Lester, you know, Armando Blunt, the reclassification, like Cam Davis, shut it down a long time ago.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So I mean, dude, everything after this is pretty much just house money that you're playing with.
- 6:16Speaker 2: It would be huge to get a kid like Jeremiah Smith.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Of course you know Cam Coleman is another you know top high end receiver out there, five-star prospect.
- 6:24Speaker 2: He's committed to Texas A&M.
- 6:26Speaker 2: He was back on campus for the Miami game.
- 6:29Speaker 2: keeping an eye on him as well, you know, especially with Jimbo getting fired.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, they definitely want to add an elite receiver to the wide receiver room.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Now, whether they can get it from the high school ranks or they start going back to the transfer portal, you're going to see them try, you know, do their best to get one.
- 6:50Speaker 1: All right, that's good news.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Man Wow, florida State sitting nice in the recruiting man.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I brought up catching Ohio State.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Let's say you do land Jeremiah Smith right.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Right, you pull him, you're able to flip LJ McCray.
- 7:09Speaker 2: You sign Kai Bates as another top 100 defensive badly.
- 7:13Speaker 2: You have the potential to have the highest rated class in the website era for Florida State.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And you still probably wouldn't finish number one because Georgia class is ridiculous.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:27Speaker 2: But still man, yeah, that's like from a year ago and from the previous couple years where people were.
- 7:33Speaker 2: You know, mike Norvell, they can't really recruit high school and blah, blah, blah, and I mean you see what winning games and being you know a national brand again, you see what that does for recruiting, yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 2: So yeah, the momentum is all positive right now.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Um, you know, we'll see, we'll see.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Well, we saw the rankings come out last night.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Florida State remained at four, but there was a little shakeup at the top, as Georgia rightfully so took over the top spot.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that, uh, that was a little more.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I mean, that wasn't as surprising as Ohio State and Michigan swapping.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, I didn't think Michigan really did anything significant other than prove that they can win the ball.
- 8:28Speaker 1: If anything, penn State just shows they're overrated, you know like that's what that proved to me.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I still don't.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I mean I'm still impressed with Michigan, though.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I mean, like they played who they play, they look dominant in every game.
- 8:42Speaker 2: They have, they have, you're right.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Penn State what I'll say to that is overrated.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it would be nice, you don't?
- 8:48Speaker 1: have.
- 8:48Speaker 1: You have one, they can't throw the ball on it.
- 8:50Speaker 1: They can't pick up any third and longs ever.
- 8:52Speaker 1: So, if you get, if you stop.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I mean, they're so easy to vanilla as a vanilla gets.
- 8:59Speaker 2: You just described 90% of the big 10.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm sorry, ohio State is too.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Well then scratch everything that you just said.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Washington three, Florida State four, Washington five, Oregon.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Still remains six.
- 9:19Speaker 2: That's surprising.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Texas seven, Alabama eight, because Alabama looks to be playing better.
- 9:24Speaker 1: But you know, the head to head, yeah, but and then Oregon, has they put Oregon ahead of both of them?
- 9:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I don't get.
- 9:34Speaker 1: They had the best loss, but the highest, I mean that's.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I mean they got to be going off, just resume.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:44Speaker 2: If you watch the games, there's nobody they want to.
- 9:46Speaker 1: They want to give the pack 12 a team.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I guess, and if it comes down to, I'll tell you this it's going to be interesting if you get an undefeated big 10 champion and an undefeated SEC champion, because then they're automatically in and I don't, and then Florida State goes undefeated therein and if Washington goes undefeated they're in.
- 10:09Speaker 1: That's it.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And that would be four undefeated teams.
- 10:14Speaker 1: So where that could happen, but something tells me that's not going to happen.
- 10:18Speaker 1: What if that?
- 10:19Speaker 1: The first three happens, then Oregon wins you know, then Oregon would be that first team.
- 10:25Speaker 1: That's what they're setting that up for.
- 10:26Speaker 1: They're setting that up for if that, if the first three teams remain undefeated, Georgia, it doesn't matter, Ohio State or Michigan and then Florida State, if they all go undefeated, they want the pack 12 to be that to first team in.
- 10:39Speaker 1: That's what they're setting that up for.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and, and but you have the.
- 10:45Speaker 1: If Alabama wins, then you have your, your conundrum then, because then you have your big 10 champ, undefeated number one, florida State undefeated number two.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Washington, undefeated number three.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And then you got to go.
- 11:02Speaker 1: What do you do then?
- 11:03Speaker 1: That's the, that's the, that's the.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Are you saying, if Alabama wins, you have?
- 11:06Speaker 1: one spot left.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Oh dude, and you have Texas.
- 11:09Speaker 2: You have.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Texas, Oregon.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Well, I got, I got my take on it If Alabama beats Georgia and the SEC title game right dude, they're.
- 11:19Speaker 2: They're not going to be putting them at number four.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Well, they're, they're, no, no, I mean they're going to put them at one.
- 11:27Speaker 2: They may not put them at one, but they're putting them ahead of at least one team, maybe even two If Alabama runs the table from from now and and beats Georgia and the SEC title game.
- 11:38Speaker 2: They're not going to stick Alabama at number four.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Ranking or no, they, they should be out records, not going to matter.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I mean, if you had, if you had, all right, say you had an undefeated Ohio State.
- 11:51Speaker 1: They beat Michigan, all right, right, okay, you've George, so George is out.
- 11:57Speaker 1: If Georgia loses in the SEC championship, they're out.
- 12:00Speaker 1: In this scenario, in what scenario?
- 12:03Speaker 1: I'm about to tell you what a state's undefeated Right, yeah, If Washington's undefeated, right.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I think they're pretty much saying if Washington or Oregon, if Washington's undefeated or Oregon wins, without that only loss being to Washington, they have been that loss to Washington.
- 12:19Speaker 1: They're going.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I think that's what they're setting up.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Oh, you, you think Washington, but they're Washington's going to lose this weekend.
- 12:25Speaker 2: We'll get to that later.
- 12:26Speaker 2: You think an Oregon, a one loss Oregon team, would get in over Georgia?
- 12:30Speaker 1: If they beat an undefeated Washington team in the in the title game yes, they'll have a conference championship and Georgia will not, and I and I, if we have three, I know that's just saying it.
- 12:40Speaker 1: That's what how it should be.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I know, I know, but they will take Alabama.
- 12:45Speaker 1: In that case, I'm going to, I'm going to do if you have three undefeated teams or two.
- 12:49Speaker 2: All Georgia has to do is make the SEC title game and they're going to the playoffs.
- 12:54Speaker 1: That's not necessarily true, dude.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I guarantee it.
- 12:57Speaker 1: No, I can't.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I guarantee it.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Well, you might be right, but that well, if it happens, we'll see.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Like if they end up losing the title game.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I don't think they're going to lose.
- 13:06Speaker 1: If Washington loses tonight to Oregon state but then comes back and beats Oregon.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But I think Oregon's going to win out.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I think Oregon's going to win the pack 12.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Are they playing tonight?
- 13:17Speaker 1: They're playing this Saturday in core.
- 13:18Speaker 1: They got to play at Oregon state, oregon state's favorite yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I know, I know it's going to be a night game.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I got an Oregon stage in that one, but still, if Washington wins that, if they beat Oregon, they're going to be, they're going to be in.
- 13:30Speaker 1: They deserve it.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, florida state goes undefeated.
- 13:34Speaker 2: They're undefeated, they're in.
- 13:37Speaker 1: They're not.
- 13:37Speaker 1: They're not going to play around like that.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I don't care who it is.
- 13:40Speaker 1: If you're undefeated and you win the and you win a pack and you win the conference, you're going in.
- 13:45Speaker 2: So that the scenario right there, Florida state.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I still think it's Oregon or Washington You're in.
- 13:51Speaker 1: There's a yeah if if, if Washington goes undefeated.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I get what they lose Tonight, then and whatever.
- 13:58Speaker 1: But I'm in this scenario Washington goes undefeated or Oregon wins, that's one spot.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Florida State goes undefeated they're taking a spot.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Ohio State or Michigan going undefeated they're taking a spot.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So then the SEC championship, if it's Alabama or Georgia, is the last spot right and you can't give it to the loser.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I would.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I would agree with you that if there are three other under.
- 14:20Speaker 2: George is not gonna lose there three under if they're three undefeated Conference champions, then yes, but if Oregon is a team that wins, right, then you have some debate there.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yes, george, I get George getting in right.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Well, I, it's dude.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you might have it some debate there if.
- 14:37Speaker 1: But if Washington were to win out there going, you can't, you can't deny a team that's undefeated I would be.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I would be.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I would agree with you, I would be shocked if you, if Washington, florida State, michigan, ohio State or Georgia, if they went out, they're all going that is the night For the SEC right, that's the nightmare scenario, for the SEC was having one spot left, and it being a One-loss Texas team that won the Big 12 and beat you head-to-head.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yeah, what if that's a scenario Would?
- 15:10Speaker 1: You jump like you have.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You have a.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You have an undefeated Ohio State.
- 15:15Speaker 1: You have an undefeated Florida State.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Okay, right.
- 15:18Speaker 1: You have an undefeated Washington.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They're all in okay, there's one spot left now you have a one-loss.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Texas won the Big 12, Alabama beat Georgia.
- 15:28Speaker 1: They have you know.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You got two one-loss SEC teams.
- 15:32Speaker 1: You got Alabama.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Those your champ of the SEC.
- 15:37Speaker 2: That's right.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Just beat the top ranked dogs.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Oh, they're getting in over Texas man.
- 15:41Speaker 1: They would jump Texas and they would jump the head-to-head.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yeah right now.
- 15:44Speaker 1: They have whose Texas gonna play right now.
- 15:46Speaker 1: They have Oregon ahead of that, so they that would.
- 15:49Speaker 1: If we, what?
- 15:50Speaker 1: If Oregon beats Washington?
- 15:52Speaker 1: They still would have them in right now.
- 15:53Speaker 1: They would have to jump them then at the end.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's gonna be a better win, though, because they're gonna be.
- 15:58Speaker 1: They're gonna be beating Washington.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna be ranked the high.
- 16:02Speaker 1: That would be the best win of of the conference championships.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Not, not if.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Alabama beats Georgia.
- 16:08Speaker 1: That's true.
- 16:09Speaker 2: That would be the one thing that Don't think don't don't think that that playing a team twice it's kind of a double-edged sword.
- 16:16Speaker 1: But then they would have to have your loss.
- 16:18Speaker 2: But you're also, you know you're, you're worsening the record of your, you want SEC, wants Texas to lose at some point.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and they you know SEC wants as many conference champions and like they want Florida State to lose, right, obviously.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you know they need.
- 16:36Speaker 2: They need Florida State out of the way.
- 16:38Speaker 2: They would like it if I would say they would probably like it if Michigan would just beat Ohio State.
- 16:44Speaker 2: You know, I think it'd be easier.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I think Ohio State is a stronger Chance with one loss than Michigan does, because Michigan doesn't play anybody.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Michigan has to go and defeat it.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, michigan's like Florida State and Washington they have to go and defeat it.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Well, let's say they kick the crap out of Ohio State.
- 17:02Speaker 2: That's all they really got to do.
- 17:04Speaker 2: They beat the crap out of Ohio State.
- 17:07Speaker 2: At the end of the season They'll roll in the Big Ten title game right and they win.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and they'll end there in and I think Ohio State's.
- 17:15Speaker 2: You know they're not necessarily going to be able to separate.
- 17:18Speaker 2: This is not the year where you're gonna be able to get in one loss.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It's just there's too many, yeah, but that could all change.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You know like I mean.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Florida State has to play a rivalry game against Florida.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Still gotta yeah you know, still have an ACC championship against the number nine, now Louisville.
- 17:33Speaker 1: That was ranked Amongst the one losses.
- 17:36Speaker 1: They didn't have a two-loss team ranked ahead of them.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you know that was big.
- 17:40Speaker 2: They shouldn't they shouldn't.
- 17:42Speaker 1: They're in the top ten now, so that's a.
- 17:44Speaker 1: They gave Florida State their respect on the committee.
- 17:47Speaker 1: They didn't they taught, they talked about how that game they dominated the game.
- 17:52Speaker 1: It looked like, even though the stats could tell you a different story.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but well, they, they, you know they took the rivalry game fat in the consideration.
- 18:00Speaker 2: But yeah, they.
- 18:00Speaker 2: You said that Florida State was the dominant team to them, which is you know it's good.
- 18:06Speaker 1: There were some people saying that they could have been jumped by Washington because Washington had a better win at home against Utah.
- 18:12Speaker 1: But if it's like he's saying it, it's a rivalry game.
- 18:16Speaker 1: You know, you kind of throw out the record sometimes.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you know they're actually what's.
- 18:23Speaker 2: What's interesting to me is they're actually taking, like the, the data, the analytics and metrics into consideration.
- 18:32Speaker 2: So they look at the fact that Washington's defense is, you know, ranked in the mid 40s and Florida States is what think fifth, or something like that or state plays defense.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah, so they got, they gave them the knot.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I I don't think that the committee thinks that it's.
- 18:48Speaker 2: It's Too severe, serious right now, you know, like this stuff's gonna kind of work itself out.
- 18:55Speaker 2: They're looking that Michigan and Ohio State still got to play each other.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I think they would probably agree that they're not inclined to give the big 10 two spots this year, no matter what happens.
- 19:07Speaker 2: No, yeah, there's no conference that's so clearly better than any other conference that they deserve to have two teams in there.
- 19:14Speaker 1: No, no, this is coming down to a couple of teams and it's just funny because If you have it, alabama SEC champ, but then you have a Texas, you know, and they're, they're just getting by.
- 19:27Speaker 1: They're kind of squeaking by here and Alabama's looking really dominant in their wins, and if they were to beat the top ranked dogs it's hard to yeah it's hard to believe that what they wouldn't be in.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Well, that that's a good point, man.
- 19:39Speaker 2: And you start looking at at the two seasons that they've had in Texas.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Quarterbacks been hurt, right.
- 19:44Speaker 2: They've been having to play games with the backup.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Like how do you penalize a team for that, especially when they won head-to-head like yeah, great, alabama's look great Well we played him at their house, yeah, and they beat him.
- 19:56Speaker 1: That that's gonna matter.
- 19:57Speaker 1: And it comes down to it.
- 19:58Speaker 2: It's gonna be interesting, it is, I mean they've.
- 20:00Speaker 1: They're saying that this whole time, texas, you're ahead of them, you beat him.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I mean, that's what it.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Mean that that would be.
- 20:07Speaker 2: That would be really fascinating to see happen.
- 20:10Speaker 1: That's for reason why this whole thing started, I think the whole committee thing.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you're talking about Alabama.
- 20:15Speaker 1: They've they've been to the playoffs.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Teams would get ahead because they would have better ratings.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yeah because they've been playing better.
- 20:21Speaker 1: But there was a head-to-head and it doesn't matter, We'll take in the team with a better ratings.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Well, that's why we started this committee.
- 20:27Speaker 1: This whole thing had to head so it would rubber hit the road there.
- 20:33Speaker 2: It would be fitting in the last year of 14 playoff to have Alah Alah.
- 20:38Speaker 1: An SEC champ Alabama left out.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, or or to have that to be what it's, that's it.
- 20:43Speaker 1: You got three undefeated teams and then.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Texas and Alabama vine for that last spot right.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Who do you take?
- 20:49Speaker 2: That's a great, great scenario right there, and it's gonna be Alabama, because they're gonna beat Georgia and that's gonna be all the what would happen if Oregon went out to, and they would take Alabama and Texas and just leave Oregon out.
- 21:05Speaker 1: No, yeah yeah, and they would have him in front of those two all year and then jump him at the end.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It's gonna be interesting.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of want the chaos, but if you're an FSU fan, you just need to win out and North Alabama.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's something that's pretty much.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Questionable in 630.
- 21:22Speaker 1: It's on the C-dub man that are we getting that?
- 21:26Speaker 2: we get in the C-dub.
- 21:27Speaker 1: C-dub man.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna be out there though.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I kind of want to go to the party if you're there, if you're around, come on down and see us.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I think we'll be around Lot five or so, maybe everywhere.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but Giving away some hats maybe maybe Pins on if you subscribe or not.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely hit that like button, subscribe, and if you're watching on YouTube.
- 21:55Speaker 1: We Got a lot of games to pick this week.
- 21:59Speaker 1: There's gonna be some good ones.
- 22:01Speaker 1: It starts Thursday night and we got an ACC tilt, as Pitt is hosting Boston College.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Man yeah, they lost last week.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Man to Syracuse, they're getting.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Boston College is still getting three on the road.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Really, yeah, it's a tough place to play.
- 22:28Speaker 2: It is.
- 22:28Speaker 2: It is a tough place to play you know, Boston College got whooped by Virginia Tech.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I Didn't see that coming, man.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I thought they were, you know.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I think Pitt's gonna win.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Then we got Saturday.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Not too many good ones, but we do have a few.
- 22:52Speaker 1: We got one in the ACC.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Louisville will be down in Miami to take on the hurricanes.
- 22:57Speaker 1: That's net at noon.
- 22:59Speaker 1: The nooner, yeah, sleepy nooner.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Miami's getting one point man, this is a, this is, this is game.
- 23:08Speaker 2: To watch or not watch, but follow, yeah, definitely.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I'm really interested to see what show.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Like.
- 23:15Speaker 2: What shows up from Miami?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Yeah, what Miami team?
- 23:19Speaker 2: That post FSU loss has been something that's gotten them in years past, right, I think they're easily as good as Louisville, right?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think there's really a whole lot of difference between the two.
- 23:33Speaker 2: The two teams may at quarterback, obviously, they're gonna be rolling with Van Dyke.
- 23:39Speaker 1: This is to Lock up a spot.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Yeah, there's still a couple scenarios, maybe that yeah, Louisville locks it up if they win.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Obviously they're just a.
- 23:51Speaker 2: They've been a different team away from Papa John Stadium.
- 23:55Speaker 2: You know what you know what what Well?
- 24:01Speaker 2: I think Miami does it man.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Miami beats him.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you.
- 24:08Speaker 2: If they play like they played against Florida State, I think they really have a shot at beating them.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I mean they have a chance to get another win against the top 10 team.
- 24:16Speaker 1: If you're Miami, if you had a chance, you know You're gonna play the top two teams in the ACC back-to-back weeks.
- 24:24Speaker 1: You say you know we only lost by a touchdown on the road.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Then you play.
- 24:28Speaker 1: You got Louisville at home.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah measuring stick for you as program.
- 24:32Speaker 2: And I get it, man, it Van Dyke's gonna be back under center or in shotgun Alright, and I understand that.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You know they.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You know Emery Williams did a commendable job.
- 24:44Speaker 2: If they, he's still a to, he was still a to 23.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Half of his yards came off that one pass Right like I think their best chance is still with with Tyler van Dyke, I think I agree with you because of the run, run the ball more.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think I, yeah, I think they will, and I think that Defense is the difference for Miami.
- 25:04Speaker 1: They, they've impressed me.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Gidry has done a good job this year.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah, the rage and Cajun.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, keep keep your safety from biting on that play action.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Yeah, both of them they they're really susceptible to that, but that's you know.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Miami.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they're making a chaos in the ACC.
- 25:22Speaker 2: There's not a whole lot of mobility from from plumber back there the quarterback from Louisville.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I think they can get after him.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I really like their pass rush man, I think they can do it, so that would open up the table for who else's would be alive.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Virginia Tech, ncc and North Carolina are still all three possibilities.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Wow, yeah, wow, that's chaos.
- 25:44Speaker 1: It is well, I know they had a big 12 it to come out recently and Make it establish that if it was coming down to Like three teams, the team that played both of them.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I tried to read that and I just got confused.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Yeah Well, I mean you want to know what's happening.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna have a lot of things still to be decided.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I think I have to play.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I think that would be funny that in the first year they got rid of divisions, you still had coastal chaos.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Well, it's.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, Miami has a chance to cause it by with a win Saturday they can do it, man, they can do it that would.
- 26:18Speaker 1: That would cause chaos.
- 26:20Speaker 1: For that second spot It'll be down to tiebreakers.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I mean, there's a chance to leave, will still goes, but we'll see how that plays out.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Let's go to.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Let's go to Michigan.
- 26:32Speaker 1: They're gonna be on the road and at Maryland Businesses usual and they're getting 19.
- 26:38Speaker 2: They'll cover.
- 26:38Speaker 2: They'll cover, I'm gonna take.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Maryland to Cover.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you like that, huh, they're just gonna run the ball too much.
- 26:50Speaker 1: They'll win by 17.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Maryland will put up some points because they'll throw it a little bit.
- 26:57Speaker 2: They're catching slipping 38, 13, michigan, all right, probably right on that.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Okay, let's go to the big 12.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Big 12 is interesting for that other spot as well.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Um, nobody's really got anything locked up.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Oklahoma's gonna be in Utah playing BYU.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Byu is not that good this year, yeah, but they're.
- 27:19Speaker 2: They're one of those teams, man Like I think BYU covers, yeah, oklahoma like I Don't know, jekyll and hide dude, they, they have close games.
- 27:30Speaker 2: They lose to who they shouldn't like it.
- 27:32Speaker 2: You know They'll win, but you are, you covers.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Okay, let's go to.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Let's go to the pack 12 Utah's taken on Arizona.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Battle of ranked teams here.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yeah, battle of ranked teams here.
- 27:49Speaker 2: This is fish, yeah, yeah this is an interesting game because Utah has been used as kind of a measuring stick for both Washington and Oregon.
- 27:57Speaker 2: As you know, big-time win.
- 27:59Speaker 2: They lose this game, fourth loss in the season.
- 28:03Speaker 2: They're unranked Yep.
- 28:04Speaker 2: You know they have problems at offense.
- 28:10Speaker 1: They were still able to do stuff against Washington.
- 28:12Speaker 1: That really showed me that Washington's defense is never kind of lacking.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:16Speaker 2: And you know I don't know who Arizona, you know I don't know who they finished the season with, but they got a chance to finish nine and three.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but give me Utah, oh.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Wow, all right, give me, give me, give me fish, and I think Arizona doing something this year a big year for them and showed up.
- 28:37Speaker 1: It's been a program's been like dead for a while.
- 28:41Speaker 1: You know when's the last time.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah, he might be getting some looks over there at UCLA they do a chip Kelly's some more hot speculation.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Yeah, hot speculation.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Think chip Kelly's out of there.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're getting rid of them.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Oh wow, they're moving to the big tenant and chip Kelly does not recruit, like he might be, out of all the coaches in America, the one that hates it the most.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Right you can't do that Some more hot speculation there.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I mean, if you're winning, whatever, but they're not winning this year.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Kelly, there's my fire.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Fire man, you're out of here.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I mean winning games with defense.
- 29:23Speaker 1: So what's?
- 29:23Speaker 2: the point even having them there.
- 29:25Speaker 2: What?
- 29:25Speaker 1: is the point?
- 29:25Speaker 1: What is the point?
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't be speedy at your career out of here, buddy, let's go to the ACC and Duke.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Reeling a little bit, but they're gonna be in Virginia.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Take it on the Cavaliers Virginia.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Virginia is getting three and a half at home.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I think Duke blows him out of sorts.
- 29:50Speaker 2: You know, a couple touchdowns win, yeah, but Duke is struggling.
- 29:55Speaker 2: I'm starting to wonder if maybe Elko might have known that he was going to be hearing from from the A&M representatives a few weeks ago.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Dude, are we speculating more?
- 30:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I mean they both stood out the check on the halftime before they fired the coach.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they're just big $160 million check.
- 30:29Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, that's they very well.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Have already, you know, put out some feelers there.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 2: All he would have had to know is you know what Jimbo's done this year, and they got the same agent.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Everybody's got the same agent.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Everybody's got the same agent out here.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Everybody's got the same agent in.
- 30:44Speaker 1: That's right Jimmy Sexton show.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Really.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Everybody just living in it.
- 30:49Speaker 2: It's insane, it really is.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Wizard of Oz and college football.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yeah, All right.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Well, let's stay in the ACC and Clemson is hosting the Tar Heels.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Oh it's Caroline still got a shot.
- 31:05Speaker 2: They could really I mean, they could just go ahead and have unrealized idea of the week if they lose this game to Clemson.
- 31:11Speaker 2: No, yeah, yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 1: We're not going to get ahead of ourselves but, I think Clemson wins.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I do too, and they're a different team at death valley they're different team, that's a great environment, I mean you know, North Carolina is nothing but Drake May.
- 31:29Speaker 2: That's it Right.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Couple of receivers, that defense be tough.
- 31:32Speaker 1: They'll get to him a couple of times because that off into the line they'll get hit More than a couple.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, I'll take Clemson at home.
- 31:41Speaker 2: They're actually favored Wow.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, definitely, and then let's stay in the ACC.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Another one of this is a good game NC State is playing at Virginia Tech.
- 31:52Speaker 2: This is a good game.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Mm, hmm, big game, big game.
- 31:56Speaker 1: It's after the game, so they'll know if Louisville loses.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Man, mj Morris is not playing.
- 32:01Speaker 2: He's excused himself for the rest of the season.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Right, that's weird.
- 32:04Speaker 2: They've gone back to Brennan Armstrong, who I called the worst quarterback in college football.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Well, based on some of those performances, he did not take the part.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that defense is for real, though it is.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I don't mean we didn't play NC State so we haven't really talked about them at all.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah, peyton Wilson, the linebacker you know that guy can end up winning the Bucchus this year.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Man, he's incredible.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:28Speaker 2: I'm glad we didn't play them.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I am too.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I'm kind of hoping that we don't have to play them.
- 32:32Speaker 2: There's still a possibility.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think they'll beat.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Virginia Tech.
- 32:36Speaker 2: The win.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Oh, wow, yeah I think I think the defense for NC State gets them.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I think Virginia Tech's got a home environment like Clemson kind of.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and where they play better there.
- 32:48Speaker 1: It's a crazy environment.
- 32:50Speaker 2: It is.
- 32:50Speaker 2: It's a great environment.
- 32:52Speaker 1: It's one of the best in college football.
- 32:53Speaker 1: It's one of the best in the ACC.
- 32:54Speaker 1: It's underrated.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I think Virginia Tech wins at home.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Give me the Hokies.
- 33:03Speaker 2: It's going to be a gig.
- 33:04Speaker 1: You're taking NC State Moneyline.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Okay, I'm going to play a big game.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I can't wait to watch that one.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Wake Forest is going to Notre Dame to play their old buddy yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's.
- 33:17Speaker 2: That may keep the game close for a little bit.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Sam Hartman, maybe Wake's not?
- 33:27Speaker 1: I know, I know it's not good.
- 33:29Speaker 1: It's at Wake Notre Dame's getting 24 and a half.
- 33:35Speaker 2: That's a lot though.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I think Wake can come with that, I think.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Wake's covering the motion wanting to get their hair back.
- 33:42Speaker 2: They play defense.
- 33:43Speaker 2: There's nothing really explosive about Notre Dame's offense.
- 33:47Speaker 2: There's more power and just beat you up.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Wake will take that for a couple quarters.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Let's go to the SEC.
- 33:55Speaker 1: It's a good one.
- 33:58Speaker 1: The top ranked dogs are going to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee volunteers coming off a tough loss in Missouri last week.
- 34:08Speaker 1: They have a chance to get a big upset and they'll be at home.
- 34:12Speaker 1: They do.
- 34:13Speaker 1: They're getting 10 and a half.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Oh man Really.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Yep.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I don't Home dog.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I mean that's a, you got 100,000 people man.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I mean Florida handled Tennessee at home.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and home, home, home dog To me.
- 34:31Speaker 2: That just proves that Tennessee's not that good.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I was setting you up.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I mean Georgia, big here.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yeah, georgia's looking scary.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I mean I don't it's hard to imagine anybody beating them right now.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I mean I think if somebody beats them, they're going to have to have a quarterback.
- 34:49Speaker 2: That's better than Joe Milton.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yeah, just put it that way.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you're going to need someone that can throw the ball down the field.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah, consistently not turn the ball over.
- 34:58Speaker 2: If Hooker was still their quarterback, I'd give him a shot.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Even without Jalen Hyatt I'd give him a shot.
- 35:04Speaker 2: But I just don't trust Joe Milton.
- 35:07Speaker 1: The only person that's been able to do it, and you see what he's doing in the NFL this year.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, cj, that was Right.
- 35:15Speaker 1: That was why he should have been drafted number one right there.
- 35:17Speaker 1: That one game alone.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you beat Georgia?
- 35:20Speaker 2: Oh, you got to have a guy that can make NFL throws.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Right, the entire game.
- 35:25Speaker 1: That's what he did.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, all right.
- 35:27Speaker 1: So I got Georgia big in this.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I got them covering.
- 35:30Speaker 1: All right, let's go to the big 12.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Oklahoma State got their butts whooped in Orlando what I know?
- 35:37Speaker 1: They're still alive.
- 35:39Speaker 1: For the big 12 championship they're going to Houston.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Okay, here you go, houston's getting the touchdown Seven points.
- 35:47Speaker 2: This game right here.
- 35:48Speaker 2: It's not going to be, but it's one of those games that should be on prime time, just because of the two coaches, yeah, like there's no way that they're actual, real human beings.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I know you were going to, I know you're going to like this one.
- 35:59Speaker 2: It's at four o'clock though it's going to be to Gundy versus Holglow.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Yeah, whoo.
- 36:07Speaker 2: You know what?
- 36:07Speaker 2: Give me Houston the upset.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't.
- 36:11Speaker 2: You know that's.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Oklahoma State juggling hide man.
- 36:14Speaker 1: When they lose, they get, they just turn it off.
- 36:16Speaker 1: It's going to be, yeah, if they're in it, they're going to win it.
- 36:20Speaker 2: He's a lot like Jimbo to me, where he's probably only focused maybe three or four weeks out of the season in terms of like actually wanting to get after the opponent.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I'll take the Cowboys man getting.
- 36:31Speaker 1: They have to be able to respond off the embarrassment there.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Give me the Cowboys, but I'm not too sure about it.
- 36:37Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Turn.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Let's go to the big one out, westman, it's the black.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Oh wait, first let's go to Florida.
- 36:49Speaker 1: They're playing Missouri.
- 36:51Speaker 1: We need to pick that.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a big game.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Florida's five and five, five and five, they're gonna.
- 36:58Speaker 1: They gotta play at Missouri, then they gotta host Florida State.

- 37:08Speaker 2: Missouri's sitting at number nine Number 11.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Number 11, okay, and Florida's getting 11 and a half on the road.
- 37:17Speaker 2: I think they can cover.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I think they cover as well.
- 37:21Speaker 2: I don't know if they can do it, man, they're gonna have to figure out how to play defense.
- 37:25Speaker 2: You know what?
- 37:27Speaker 1: Okay you gonna flip it.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Give me the Gators All right Upset in Missouri.
- 37:32Speaker 2: You know it's a, they're five and five and Grand Mercer's played like ridiculous this season.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's been great.

- 37:46Speaker 2: Toolshedder scheme, then Austin, I don't know if they got anybody that can hang with Luther Burton.
- 37:53Speaker 2: And that's secondary.
- 37:54Speaker 2: They're young, they're inexperienced.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, luther Burton's an NFL wide receiver.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Like that, I think Missouri's gonna be too much Texas is going to Ames to play Iowa State Ooh, in a sneaky game at eight o'clock on Fox.
- 38:12Speaker 2: You know why this is dangerous?
- 38:14Speaker 2: It is because Iowa State is six and four Yep and nobody does six or seven and five better than Matt Campbell.
- 38:23Speaker 1: This is my upset.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Upset.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Of the week.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Right here, right here.

- 38:34Speaker 1: I'm taking Iowa State to beat Texas.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean they're five and two in conference.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Alabama fans will be cheering.
- 38:42Speaker 2: That would put Iowa State at six and two in conference.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be chaos.
- 38:45Speaker 1: They'd be like yeah, that's what I want.
- 38:47Speaker 1: But you know Texas has been the quarterback, got hurt again.
- 38:53Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 38:55Speaker 1: They've been really shaky the last few weeks.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Well, you know it's tough man.
- 39:02Speaker 1: It's tough to go undefeated or go without, just to lose one.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but that whole you know this is what Texas does Kind of starts creeping into your program and everybody's thought process.
- 39:15Speaker 2: This is normally where you see Texas lose and you know they drop like two of their lines Florida State doesn't have a line.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Kansas, Kansas State.

- 40:07Speaker 1: Here they're minus one and a half.
